How often do you only find the survivor that was just unhooked? Because when I play its pretty rare that the killer isn't in another chase after someone is unhooked and usually the unhooked survivor is healed doing a gen by the time the killer is back on them and by then DS is gone.
In red ranks quite often. Especially towards end game when either theres no generators left or 1 left to do. Especially if its a SWF they will coordinate and take their DS into consideration and will sometimes for you to either slug them, which will allow them time to crawl to exit, or take the DS which again will stun you so they can escape, or you slug them and they just get healed by a teammate.

DS and BT yes. UB nowhere near that often. DS and BT are kinda needed to counter camping and tunneling although both are rare you never want to not have those perks. I run both in my main build and only use DS like once every 10 or so games.
Okay, even without unbreakable. you still have 4 minutes of not touching survivors if every survivor has DS. It's not okay to literally make the killer unable to do anything for a whole minute in fear of getting stunned and losing a kill entirely.

You're argument depends on many individual factors and the only time your scenario would only ever happen is in a SWF group which everyone knows is broken.
You are right that it depends on if the survivors have those perks. But in red ranks 80% of the builds have those perks. All it takes is one unbreakable to lose a game.

if you think using dead hard effectively is really as simple as just hitting E you're an idiot. No one had unbreakable. He went out of his way to message me and I was running Quick and quiet, lithe, DS, and BT. I literally didn't use DS because I didn't need to.
I don't agree with this guy on certain things but hes correct in this. So many survivors use Dead Hard for distance to make a window or pallet and not for the immunity to a hit. The fact that you had to even ask what the problem with Meta Perks is shows your overall lack of knowledge in the game.
@CWill22 said:

But Perks like Ruin, Pop, and NOED have the ability to affect all 4 survivors at the same time. DS and unbreakable is viable for exactly 60 seconds of any match. I agree with you that BT and BBQ aren't really that great but they are considered meta.
If you want to go into further detail as to why DS and Unbreakable are incredibly broken and unfair for killer put it like this. Thers 4 survivors, generators take 80 seconds with 1 person to complete without a toolbox.
If each survivor gets on their own gen at the start of the round and begins to work on it while the killer is searching for even their first chase they will probably have about 10% on it by the time the killer finds someone. The killer is chasing 1 person around for lets say 30 seconds, a really fast chase. Brings them to hook and hooks them, that takes lets say another 15 seconds. So far 45 seconds total for 1 hook, and that is a really really fast situation. Each generator will be around 60% at this point.
Now lets say as he is looking for his next chase two or 3 gens pop, now what? Even if he wanted to tunnel the guy off the hook to get rid of him to create pressure since they are rushing gens he can down him, but he knows he has DS. He has two options, leave the guy on the ground for 60 seconds of complete invulnerability and hope to chase other survivors while they are on gens, and pray he doesnt have unbreakable, or take the DS.
Now imagine that x 4. Thats 4 minutes that you can't touch survivors, and each gen is only 80 seconds.

I just wanted to add that with the upcoming midchapter that exploit of reading the Logfile to see which killer it is will be gone. The log file will be encrypted so those tools are useless. (there is a thread here where this was said)
Also as someone else already said: I am really afraid of heavy lobby dodging by killers now as the dont wanna go against a toxic nea or 2 toolboxes. I guess we just have to see how it turns out.
It is the first step for the new system. maybe survs get locked soon to. So just calm down and let us check it out please
I'd like the Devs to address this, not a random making a thread saying it will be fixed (not you btw).

I'm an experienced player on DBD on the Xbox One, and today the matchmaking has been absolutely dreadful. Only in the past half hour was I made aware that new matchmaking went live today. I've been duoing with a friend of mine who's also pretty experienced (we're both red rank every season, and I know the meme but this indicates we play consistently) and EVERY. SINGLE. GAME — the other two survivors have been ranks 18-20 who crouch in corners, walk everywhere, and go down to Legion's deep wounds due to not knowing what mending is. On top of that, the killers have been the same. I've not seen a single killer that's yellow rank or higher, and I've played for about 11 hours today (it's my day off work, okay?). The games have been absolutely miserable, mentally draining and literally unfun. I'm not asking for god teammates who can carry a match, just someone who knows all the perks and interactions in the game, knows all the killers and their powers, map layouts, and basic looping concepts. Is that so much to ask? I'd literally be GLAD to have someone as low as rank 10 in my match, and a common meme amongst my friends and I is that I always slag rank 10s and they say "rank 10s aren't that bad". Sorry for whining but I just hope this can serve as an omen for what's to come for all you PC players! You'll pretty much have no option but to go 4-man SWF if you don't want potatoes on your team.
The option to go 4 man SWF? You mean every single red rank match already?

Sorry I set you off a little but ya the reason I believe survivors stats won't ever be used is because it wouldn't make any sense compared to the killer stats. Plus a survivor as a whole doesn't impact the game unless you play as a blendette.
Oh you didn't set me off, I was just stating its something people have asked for a lot over and over and the Devs pretend to not see them asking for it.

How are they getting power over the killer? Previously the killer could fully adjust based on survivor loadouts but survivors couldn't do the opposite. Now they're getting closer to a state where neither side can adjust based on their opponent. Especially if killers can still change perks, I'm not sure why this is that big of a deal.
If you read my entire post you would understand that survivors in pre-game lobby right now can tell what killer they are going against before the match starts. With that knowledge you can plan your perks around the killer, and still last second item swap.
You think its fair for a trapper to load into a match where no survivors are using items, then last second you have a key, a map, and two toolboxes with BNP on them, giving the killer no time to adjust?
-
As long as survivors can tell what killer they are facing before the match starts due to the log issue still in effect, and the fact that they can and will swap last second for keys / maps / flashlights etc, this is a horrible idea to only lock killers.
Survivors need to be locked in item wise as well. It's incredibly unfair for this to be only one sided. The type of people who already abuse the log issue are already toxic red rank so why would you want to enable further toxicity by giving survivors so much power over the killer before the match even starts.

The game would die because a killer can run stronger killers or addons against a swf sounds kinda just wrong to me.
So its okay though for a 4 man to have a huge advantage over the killer right? Survivors try to push blame on killers saying they just want easy solo queue games, yet that is exactly what every SWF group wants; an easy escape.

They will never release actual survivor stats because it will show the blatant disparity in SWF and how survivors are in the power role especially in red ranks. If they ever release Red Rank SWF and Red Rank SWF escape % it will be a happy day.

Do you ever see this game as having potential to be truly competitive? And what would be required for that to happen do you think?
I think the only way for it to be truly competitive would be to include a new game mode which limits certain perks and / or addons on both ends; Mori's, Keys, OoO, etc. Limit the maps on rotation to the most fair balanced maps like autohavens for example. No Ormond, or Haddonfield. You would obviously need to balance around the fact that it will more than likely be SWF so they will have communication so maybe limiting gen Items such as toolboxes too, if not SWF then include built in voice chat for the solo players that join.

If this game was only about fun there balance wouldnt be an issue
I highly disagree with that statement. It's an asymmetrical PvP game with uneditable rules + lots of RNG vs randoms who don't always have good intentions/sportsmanship. Balance is important to maintain the game's fun factor (really, to mitigate a stale meta and encourage new ones because people will always gravitate to the best things even in a game that has an undefined win condition like this), even if overbalancing is an issue that makes some things less fun to the point where people stop using something entirely (see Legion and possibly Billy for a lot of players, or old MoM).
Sure I can understand that point of view too. In the end there will be people like you and people like me who view winning on two different spectrums which is entirely fine.

Those stats say it...most of all players are swf
Take that solo number and chop it down for each tro and duo
Then cut it down by 4 after that and that cut number is the number of games of full solos... everything else aka almost all the time its swf.
Exactly, people don't know how to read data and think it means that out of all matches only 50% are SWF. When in reality its like 90%

And where is your evidence that suggests that you are correct? The only streamer I know of personally that has a hard-on for pipping is Tru3. Otz, Umbra, Zubat, Scott, Ralph, and more top-tier streamers don't really seem to care (though most of those people do try to 3-4K). I don't really care. Very few survivors have ever complained to me about not pipping, moreso it's always "you used X tactic against me and it was unfun f*ck you".
I will say that 2/2 is very unsatisfying as a killer, and I personally consider it a loss in most circumstances. But "unfair" is an argument that is completely irrelevant to me. If you place that much emotional value on pipping to the point where you're upset that you didn't pip when you get a 3-4k, I think, again, you have a bit of a screw loose. The pipping system is such an irrelevant thing to base...anything on, really. If anything, you should laugh when you decimate a team and depip.
I 100% get what you are saying. A lot of people in high ranks can get there every reset and the game becomes stale so you play for other reasons like you said. You can come up with fun builds try new killers etc. However as soon as you bring up balance with a 2/2 system then it gets competitive. If this game was only about fun there balance wouldnt be an issue, sure I have fun stomping and getting 4k with 12k points. So in the end what you consider a win is up to you personally, whether that be, if you escaped with 5000 points, 32k points, got a 4k or 0k.

In reality, most high rank players don't view the game like this, they view it on point system and pip system.
Uh, no? I think most high rank players don't actually view the ranking system as anything other than "I played this month". Most high rank players play because they either enjoy the mechanics or are addicted to the grind, mostly both.
Maybe if you're a Tru3 fan you look at the game this way, but I find the idea of playing for pips/rank absurd. It's extremely easy to reach rank 1 past a certain skill threshold, which is lower than most other games' highest ranking skill ceilings. Far lower. If you care only about ranking up you've probably got a screw loose. Rank 1 means nothing in this game for the people who play consistently.
Sure, you can have that thought. Doesn't mean "most" think the way you do. I agree that reaching survivor rank 1 is really easy, I never said it wasn't.

Name one match where you received 20k and all survivors received 30k or else it's another gross exaggeration on your part... especially one where 2 escaped and 2 were killed... or even just explain how that's mathematically possible.
I also don't appreciate your childish attempts at acting condescending towards me over calling out an unreasonable argument.
Are you for reals right now? The things you say are why I am talking down to you, because you have no idea what you are talking about. It is entirely possible for the outcome I just stated to happen, and it happens quite often to a lot of players. Its mathematically possible because this game isnt just about getting kills. It's about how you do it. I can get 4 kills instantly as Oni and come out with 12k points. Or I can get 4k Kills and come out with 32k.
If you don't want to be treated like a child don't join in on a conversation you can't keep up with or comprehend and expect people to take you seriously when you have no way to validate anything your saying other than your low rank solo queue survivor experiences.

Ruin wasn’t nerfed because of high usage rate. The high usage rate gave the devs a reason to LOOK into it not nerf it.
If you cared to read the whole dev post dedicated to the ruin rework you’ll see the reasons why.
1) Not very friendly to new players
2)Inconsistent skill checks
3) Gave free pressure on survivors with the killer doing absolutely nothing
Clearly you and many others are still salty about the ruin rework.

That was a nice straw man you built of me. I also love how you overestimate how easy it is to pip as survivor and underestimate pipping for killer. Survivor is easier to pip than killer, everyone can agree to that, but not by the degree you just described. Also, we literally agree that it should be easier to pip as killer... so I'm not sure what you're debating at this point.
However, to flat out say that there being 4 survivors and 2 losing with 2 winning is unfair is the only biased thing I've read on this thread.
I don't want to derail this guys topic, but I do want to address this because people bring it up all the time. In a vacuum you think 2/2 is fair and balanced and it is. You are right.
But this is a 1v4, not a 1v1. Each survivor is an individual and each survivor can perform at drastically different levels of play. You can have 3 survivors Do all the gens, run the killer, do all the unhooking, and you can have 1 Claudette do nothing the entire match but hide and get to escape at the end. Did the Claudette win? It seems that you think getting killed, escaping or getting kills is what you consider a win. In reality, most high rank players don't view the game like this, they view it on point system and pip system.
If in a real game as a killer I get 2 kills, and 2 escape. At the end game screen I get 20k points and each survivor gets 30k+. Fair right? Balanced right? Each of those survivors including the ones that died pipped or double pipped. While I as the killer got 2 kills but how did I get them? 1 hook each? 2 hooked? How long were the chases? I will either at best black pip or at worst depip.
So no, in this game at higher levels 2/2 is NEVER balanced at all, and in actuality is only a good thing for survivors. That's all I'm saying.

If 2 people dying and 2 escaping is 100% survivor sided then we clearly can't agree on reality here.
Okay I realize you don't understand this game in an in-depth level and at higher play. To you're survivor sided view of this, you think all that matters is if the killer gets a kill. I can kill all 4 survivors and actually lose a pip. So then what? Sure I killed all the survivors but I lost rank actually. Is that fair?
I can 2 hook EVERY survivor and all 4 can escape and I can either barely pip or black pip and thats okay?
Yet a survivor can do 1 gen, get 1 unhook, get chased by the killer a bit and more than likely pip even if they die. Based off the way you talk I can tell you don't play at a high level, so you don't understand how hard it is for killers which I doubt you even play yourself. But please keep telling us whats "fair" and "balanced" in your reality.

So instead of addressing the issue that killer pipping should be reworked, suddenly this is yet another "survivor vs killer " discussion because I pointed out how ridiculous it is to use the word unbalanced on a results screen that couldn't be more balanced?
Yes, I'm the one showing bias when apparently your idea of balance is the killer receiving more than 2 kills and more points than all other players? Okay.
Because what you stated isn't balanced period. It's 100% survivor favored only, if you think a 2 kill 2 escape is balanced. No killer would ever think or say this. Also based off your other posts, yeah, you are a survivor main.
But you are right that the pip system does need to be fixed.

That's not balanced. That's ONLY good for survivors. If a killer gets a 2k they rarely even pip, while all the survivors, the ones who even died, can still pip. But its "balanced" right? His complaint is about matchmaking, which everyone knows is ######### right now.

"The game will die"

I had this happen to me around the time the Stranger Things DLC came out, it lasted until the next patch dropped. Any time I played killer at least two survivors would DC at random. To the survivors it showed them that I disconnected even though the match continued on as normal without them.
If I played survivor I didn't run into this issue at all. I tried getting into contact with customer support but they literally just replied with generic responses and didn't help at all. I literally just had to wait for the next patch to be able to play again.
-
So my friend bought the game earlier this week and wanted to play killer. We are noticing that around 90% of his matches are putting him into games with at least 2 purple or even red rank players in his matches at rank 20 killer. Its complete and utter bullshit that it is even forcing him to play against these SWF groups.
I think hes maybe had 1 game of actual new potato survivors who were actual rank 20s like him. But this game is only about survivor fun though so maybe there isn't an issue.

Ahh yes, but then we'd have to remove any SWF that includes a rank 6, or an swf that includes a rank 8, rank means nothing in this game passed level 10 lmao, insinuating that rank 1 - 5 is something special is absurd.
It't not absurd. You don't need to remove the other ranks, just compile them separately. What you said earlier about me wanting skewed stats is exactly what the Devs are doing / did. Every company does this, not just video game developers.
They skew things to fit THEIR narrative, and it just so happens a majority of their player base are survivors so why would they want to release the actual statistics that will go against everything they have been saying so far.
That's why they won't even acknowledge these posts and pretend that they don't exist. SWF in Red Ranks is way higher than stated, escape rate in Red Rank is much higher than stated. Those two are all we want to see, if it wasn't an issue, or they weren't trying to hide these actual numbers why wouldn't they just post them?
