  • To be honest I don't think it lowers at all. I play against the same sweaty survivors that I go against on my main killers with as I do on a new killer that I just leveled for their perks.

  • Everyone saying 0 slow down perks are survivor mains trying to pretend "good" killers don't need slowdown. Keep pretending the state of the game is okay as is.

Sorry but your conception is highly selective. I've been playing since end of 2019 and i can tell you that killer was lately (until the release of SBMM at least) the easy and fun role for me. I've seen the old maps, nearly all of the map changes were pro-killer. DS nerf? This one was huge for killers, it was kinda like basekit before and now killers can tunnel how they want as long as you don't tunnel off hook directly. It made solo q unplayable for me. Toolbox nerfs? Co-op gen speed nerf? Wraith buff (my main), introduction of Blight, Twins, hell even Trickster is very good if you play him right...

No one except Spirit used Stridor. I've never seen it on any other killer. They should have reworked it into something else instead of giving her a proxy nerf, that's true.

Deathslinger was highly unfun to go against at least for me but i agree that they should make him better in the 1v4, the same goes for Spirit. His 1v1 was bullshit though as it required no skill (except using a crosshair overlay or some FPS experience) from one side and pure luck from the other.

You are supposed to bring add ons, I've heard that multiple times from fog whisperers and i think even Devs, it's not comparable to surv items because once you get the perks on your killer, your bloodweb is full with add ons. I NEVER ran out of add ons on a killer since i started playing, NEVER. I even got the best ones of each killer i play at least 20 times, because i don't play them every time. You're not supposed to bring the best ones every time.

So now SBMM is a different topic which made me kinda leave the game, but still standing in the shadows and watching. But it has nothing to do with the whole killer/survivor thing.

I can tell you you're wrong. You are basing all your evidence around your survivor skill level, which in the way you talk isn't that good. The game should not be balanced around casual low level play. It should be balanced around what high skill players can and will do constantly in every game.

At a certain threshold of skill, survivors will be able to loop any killer, run any tile, and will know every killer inside and out, how to abuse their power, how to make the most out of any map they end up on. With that being said, if you have 4 survivors of that caliber, even if all solo, it gets to the point that no killer can compete effectively.

Just because you cannot deal with a certain killer in a 1v1, doesn't mean good players can't. Not to mention almost every single game at high MMR is almost fully SWF, which just unbalances the game even further.

  • If you are a survivor main you are ecstatic, if you play killer at all you should be dreading it, especially if this is going to be the standard of things to come.

  • @ukenicky said:

Literally killers will dodge swfs until they get solo queue survivors for easy matches. I get it, I don't like going up against swf squads either when I play killer but killers would abuse this to bully solo queue survivors who already have enough on their plate.

Survivors play SWF for easy matches, why is it okay for one side but not the other? Also easy matches my ass, the game was designed around solo play, that's base level. SWF just makes it hard mode.

  • I stepped away after the spirit Nerf announcement in conjunction with SBMM. I don't even play Spirit but seeing patch after patch come out addressing survivor wants, while continuing to ignore killer needs for years is disheartening. They buff Iron Will to have no way to counter it, they nerf Stridor, they Nerf Spirit. They introduce SBMM which doesn't add any benefit to killers, only survivors. Then they continue to throw salt on the wound by nerfing Deathslinger randomly and adding Boon Totems.

Survivor mains will say the past two patches have a "ton of killer buffs". The only decent thing is trapper starting with 2 traps, hes still a bottom tier killer. The killers that had addon reworks still make them addon reliant and are overall weak killers. Killers are weak because of their base power and abilities, not because of their addons. You shouldn't be forced to use addons to make a killer viable.

Its very clear which side the Devs favor, and which side they want to appease more, because they get more money from one side than the other. So i'm done with the game until they get a new dev team that actually cares about the game, and actually plays their game at a high level.

  • Nope, that's just how easy survivor is.

  • SBMM has absolutely no benefit to killer, its only a benefit to survivors. The higher your MMR goes as a killer, the sweater teams you will be facing, at after reaching a certain threshold of rating you will be playing against survivors who all know how to run and loop well, know all the strats and outplays to every killer and every map.

As your MMR climbs higher on survivor, you get to sit comfortable knowing that every teammate you get will know how to run and loop the killer, and will be doing generators.

How does MMR positively effect killers? It doesn't.

No win streak videos since sbmm went live. At least not as killer.

But as solo survivor he has had some win streaks. Makes you think, huh?

Do you think he's aware of Marth and his crew going on 100+ survivor win streaks?

  • @Junylar said:

There is no such thing as " survivor vs killer balance", since there are two drastically different types of survivors: soloQ and SWF. In general any competent SWF will stomp any competent killer, unless the killer's skill is by an order of magnitude higher that that of SWF. And any competent killer will stomp any competent soloQ survivors, unless their skill level is by an order of magnitude higher than that of the killer. So there is an abyss worth two orders of magnitude of skill difference between soloQ and SWF. There is no way a "survivor-killer balance" can even be defined in this game, you can only define "soloQ-killer balance" and "killer-SWF balance", only those separately can make any sense.

A majority of games will have some form of SWF though. It is incredibly more rare to have a full solo survivor game than any form of SWF. So realistically, as a killer you will be facing communication every game you play.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

The problem is finding a solution that doesn't crack the game in half for a significant part of the playerbase.

Keeping it as it is already ruins the game for the ENTIRE killer player base. Why is it that everything in this game needs to be balanced for survivors and not the other way around?

  • @Huge_Bush said:

I am, but I will accept it if it means that the Devs are focusing their resources on fixing the code and optimizing the game for the poor console players. I'm on PC so I don't notice too much, but I've seen plenty of videos and it really is sad how console players suffer.

Lol, you know they are doing nothing to fix this game, console, pc or otherwise. Spirit still can't hear footsteps, theres still the bug where survivors are completely quiet on the ground. You know what they are doing though? Making new skins, and planning the new rift.

  • It doesn't matter how, since MMR is hidden, the Devs can just continue on as normal placing SWF against baby killers.

  • I've said this already, high end MMR only benefits survivors, it will do nothing for killers but make each and every game extremely sweaty and stressful.

In high MMR every survivor will know how to run and loop, so it doesn't matter what survivor gets found first, you know you can rely on them to waste enough time to allow the other 3 to pop their gens in 1 chase. Survivors will be escaping way, way more than they will be losing.

Killer will literally having to be sweating their asses off and for what? The game will devolve into a slugging and infectious freight meta at high MMR because you will not have the time to down, pick up, and hook survivors for kills. So there will be a ton of slugging to try and combat the speed of the games.

    MMR is not needed.

  • Putting survivors in the power role when its an asymmetrical game.

  • MMR at the high end only positively effects survivors due to them being the power role. This is nothing but a detriment to killers with no positives.

Playing in high MMR as killer you will never ever have a fun game, it will be sweating constantly.

Playing high MMR as a survivor you probably know how to loop and run well, and so do your other 3 survivors which more than likely will be SWF anyways, so you will be escaping a vast majority of your games.

High MMR games will develop a new meta around slugging, and infectious fright, due to getting kills via hooks nonviable.

  • LMAO! Really easy to just match full red rank swf against a new killer now under the guise of "SBMM". Hiding information is NEVER good, every actual skill based game that has a competitive ladder shows the skill of your team, and your opponents.

Hiding all this information only allows for further manipulation by the devs to push any "agenda" they want. They already hide data and tweak statistics in their favor for whatever narrative they are trying to push, with this it's pretty blatant that they have no intentions of fixing the unfair matchmaking.

It's easier to hide all the issues out of sight and say they are fixed then actually have them in the open and address them properly.

I wouldn't say the majority of the player base don't want it. Tons of people don't even visit the forums, reddit, twitter, etc. Just ignore these types of threads if they bother you so much.

No I'm quite sure its a majority.

You literally said you disagree that someone is fine (which is an insult btw) for liking... ugh nevermind, it's worthless.

This whole thing is just a bandwagon honestly.

Also I literally said it's okay if you dislike FNAF.

I get what you are saying, and yeah I am coming off as a dick, because It's exhausting having this conversation with the same small group of people on this forums multiple times weekly. With how EVERY thread turns out, (negatively) you would assume they would get the hint that majority of the player base don't want FNAF anywhere near DBD.

Yet multiple times a week you have these same people making the exact same post expecting different results, I think there's a term for that?

  • @glitchboi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408430#Comment_2408430

That's not the point. You're insulting someone for having an interest.

Not my fault you take it that way. I like kids stuff, Courage the Cowardly Dog is dope. You FNAF fans are the ones that get super defensive and triggered when people call out what FNAF is.

  • @glitchboi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2408415#Comment_2408415

So you can't have an interest that you don't like, got it.

No you can, I'm not stopping you. You can like all the kids games and shows you want.

  • @gilgamer said:

I dont really see them as different but I find killers bringing them far more rare

Because theres like 5 maps that are killer favored in the entire game, so the chances of you bringing an offering and getting the map you actually want out of the zone is really slim.

  • My assumption is because there are far more survivor favored maps than there are killer ones. Also map offerings also usually come with SWF, so not only are you going against communication and teamwork, you are going against a map that already puts you at a disadvantage.

  • @QwQw said:

Christ, literally every single Fnaf post is always a complete clusterfuck.

As for my opinion on this topic, I'd personally like to see Fnaf and Springtrap in this game one day.

I feel what many people fail to understand is that the Fanf community has matured. If these requests for Springtrap were being made back in like 2015-2017, yeah, I would completely understand not wanting Fanf anywhere near this game. Nowadays, though? The Fanf community is fine.

If you like/liked FNAF at any point, I'd disagree that you are "fine".

  • I hope it's a Roblox or Fortnite Killer.

*omg they should make vader a killer*

Trickster release, but now with 100% more crying.

Read what? Springtrap and FnaF is a little kids game, no matter how much you don't want it to be. Majority of people don't want FnaF in this game, yet the same small group of FnaF fan girls keep making threads every week recycling the same topic. If you want to see Springrap, go play your little kids game. We don't want it, or need it in this game.

  • Na, little kid games dont belong in DBD.

The Wraith match was in a similar scenario. We had a few death hooks and I was the only one who hadn't been hooked, but I had several safe unhook heal combos that match already. I was just getting lucky I hadn't been seen, wasn't a matter of protection hits.

Its not about protection hits, its about pulling your weight in chase. If all you do is hide and just try to do gens while your team is going down, you need to alleviate some of the pressure off your team by finding the killer yourself to get them to chase you.

Most players, including myself hate immersive teammates. I don't care if you did a gen, or think you are being useful. If you hide for a majority of the match, and havent been hooked once while the rest of the team is TRYING to do gens, and loop the killer, I can see why they would be upset and want you to get downed by the killer.

  • The only time I see this happening is to Claudettes with Iron Will that will unhook then disappear, leaving the unhookee out in the open. They then proceed to try and NOT interact with the killer for the entire match and say they were doing "objective".

Those types of players are huge detriments to their team, playing cowardly and hiding, when you havent been hooked once, and everyone else is on death hook is a huge determent to your team.

Here's the thing. D/C penalty for a short time didn't take away pips and people still en masse d/c over any inconvenience because whatever minor penalty that existed no longer existed.

D/C penalty also used to depip people twice instead of just once and that also did nothing to stop people from d/cing.

The most effective way at preventing people from just d/cing anytime they want is the D/C penalty.

Sure, I agree that people are babies and will DC when they don't get their way, but my argument is that they do that because they don't care about the "punishment" currently in place.

You can have someone who thinks, "######### it" im going keep disconnecting even if my blood points are taken away. Yet when a new killer or survivor comes out, those people will be so in the red in negative blood point gains they wont even be able to level up any new characters let alone get new items on their current ones.

Either way, I see no reason not to try it. As of now, even with DC penalties the way they are, people are still disconnecting every other game. Right now all it gives you is a time out. People don't care about time outs. Remove the only thing that allows people to progress their account and then they might think twice.

  • I mentioned this in another post. People who DC don't care about de-pipping. So having a player de-pip upon disconnecting won't matter. Those same players will also just kill themselves on hook to escape a game.

What I suggest the devs should actually do to combat people who DC and even as a bonus combat against the players who purposely depip to go against low rank players they should never be facing just to have an easier game, is this; If you disconnect, or purposely leave a game early via suicide on hook, you should safety pip, that way you cant derank yourself to where you dont belong. But instead of a queue timer, they need to implement a Blood Point Gain penalty timer.

For example, you leave one game, you have to play one game in full without any blood point gains. You continue to leave early, or suicide, the penalty just extends. People don't care about pips, they don't care about fairness, all they want and care about is their blood points. Remove that from them and I bet you a LOT less people will be disconnecting or killing themselves on hook.

And like I said, as a bonus this will also combat players who purposely derank to try and bully newer players. They wont depip, and they wont be gaining any blood points. It will keep everyone exactly where they belong skill wise.

  • @Trickstaaaaa said:

I would rather them keep DC penalty off. And make it so if a player disconnects they pip down an entire pip regardless of what points they have on the system.

Honestly people don't care about pips. Also the type of people to disconnect early are also more than likely the type who would gladly depip to have much easier games against opponents they should never be going against.

Instead of de-pipping from disconnecting, it should black pip you, but you have a penalty towards blood point gains for the next game, and more games will be added for continuous disconnects.

That way it combats the people who DC by actually punishing them by removing something they want (blood points), and as a bonus combat people who de-pip to bully lower ranked players.

  • Green ranks for survivors yeah, as soon as you hit green ranks for killer you will play nothing but red rank survivors. On the other hand, green rank survivors get to enjoy relaxed games with killers below their skill level.

  • @JoByDaylight said:

Yes. DC ban is now off so I get at least one DC every Spirit game. I dont really blame either. 4 solos vs Stridor Spirit is not fun.

The only reason its not the most wanted killer is because Jason Voorhees exists. The ONLY reason. If he didn't, Springtrap would win by a mile, blowing right past the liked of Pinhead, Pumpkinhead, Candyman, Chucky, Predator, Xenomorph, Pennywise, and countless others

Lol, I don't even know how to respond to that, other than letting youtube on your parents iPad raise you as a child.

  • Stop doing the outer most gens first, you make it incredibly difficult for everyone else towards the last couple of gens.

Right, and this goes back to what I said- you would need EVERYONE to false report you and let’s be honest, thats not realistic. If 40 strangers reported you in 2 hours, then you deserved to be banned. Especially if they all flag you for cheating. That’s too coincidental. Even with SWF sprinkled in. But keep in mind that’s just an example I made up to paint a picture. The actual system may and most likely give more wiggle room to account for false reports. I think it’ll be fine. No different from the false reports you get from butthurt players on PSN and XBN after you beat em.

It's not unrealistic at all. Almost every single red rank game as killer that you win, you get ######### talked in end game chat. If this auto ban feature was enabled, do you not think these salty survivors would NOT abuse it?

  • @KerJuice said:

There were a lot of threads created on this when it was first announced. Pretty much this site was in an uproar with concern, and understandably so. I personally believe the devs are fully aware of everything you mentioned above and will keep that in mind when designing the auto ban algorithm. So in other words, I think you will have to be reported an egregious amount, in X amount of time. For example, 50 times in 2 hours. Now our community isn’t THAT toxic to submit that many false reports on one person Lmao.

I mean, there are 4 survivors per match, thats only 10 matches for 40 reports...

  • The people who say that SWF isn't that bad and doesn't offer any advantage are the people who refuse to solo queue and will only play SWF. If SWF doesn't offer an advantage in game why not solo queue? hmmmm....

Red rank killer. I NEVER tunnel and still get constant 3 and 4ks. I'm just that good I guess. Never camped or slug either.

I'm consistently a rank 1 survivor every season and I've never experienced tunneling or camping and escape 70% of my matches. I guess I'm just that good.

  • It's people who play SWF, they don't want killers dodging unbalanced matches.

  • Killers are meant to win the 1v1, you aren't supposed to be able to 1v1 a killer, otherwise there would literally be no point in playing this game. Survivors want to be able to 1v1 every single killer, escape every chase, and do all gens.
