  • As long as survivors outnumber killers 4/1, and the Devs keep them in control of the game, they have no reason to not be toxic or #########.

They bring in more money for the Devs so i highly doubt it will happen at all.

  • It should always queue against the highest rank SWF member, not the lowest. All the system does now is screw over new killers for the amusement of 4 survivors.

  • You think 20 - 15 is unplayable for survivor? Try a new killer at rank 20 going against red rank SWF that queued with their brown rank friend.

It's bad for both sides. Just finished a 1 hour+ SWF game where the killer refused to leave the 3 gen. We ended up waiting him out on the opposite side of the map for like 40 min and he eventually afked.

That's YOUR SWF's fault for holding the game hostage, not the killers.

Ah! but by this exact same logic those two survivors who were killed don't see it as a tie or a win for them, they see it as they lost.

So its still 2 people's opinion vs 2 people's opinion. So we're back to the killer being the deciding vote.

My main take away from this is that in a 2k the killer decides if they won or not. Or if it was a tie or a draw.

Ultimately no one but the individual decides, it isn't a group vote, there are no ties. But i can almost 100% guarantee you the survivor/s who escaped thinks they won and could care less about those who died, even if its 1 escape 3 killed.

I can only speak for myself but as a killer, survivors will almost always talk ######### post game if even 1 of them escapes, so yeah, for me, its 4k or a loss.

  • The only time camping is an issue is if you are the unlucky one in solo queue and have no one to rely on, or if you are in an SWF and the killer doesn't make it easy for you to rescue your teammates. The other survivors can still do their objectives and escape, but its on them if they want to throw the game to a camping killer.

Ultimately it comes down to survivors wanting to get all their friends out, and being upset that the killer isn't letting them.

Notice how I only have 6,000 points? Yeah that's because I died on my very first hook. My teammates were walking around the map doing absolutely nothing while I was hooked.

Second, why the hell was I paired up with survivors who just started the game??????

The best part about it was nothing, the killer was even a crappy bubba, aka the worst killer in this game.

    Good enough to get you.

As I said earlier, I do think both parts can win or lose at the same time, as the conditions for a win or loss are differents for survivors and killer.

Okay ill take it further. You can 2k and still not pip as killer. Those two survivors who escaped can still pip. Still a lose / lose scenario for killer. If you personally view that as a tie thats fine, I'm just saying for myself, its 4k otherwise its a loss.

  • 2k is a loss in my opinion because those two survivors who escaped don't see it as a tie or a loss for them, they see it as they won.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA

All their campaigning and marketing are based on killer. Survivors are just reskins at this point.

You haven't played since release have you? If you did you wouldn't post that with a straight face knowing the history and trajectory of the game.

    Here's hoping you forgot a /s

    100% serious.

  • Its's because the Devs favor survivors since they bring in more money. Instead of making red rank survivors find an actual balanced match for them which would take a bit longer, they just throw them against any killers up to I believe 9 ranks below them.

This extends even further when SWF queue up with a low rank friend on purpose to go against baby killers.

  • The problem is survivors spawning separate from each other and can also spawn right next to a generator. Killers don't get that luxury.

At the start of a round the killer needs to spend time finding a survivor, by that time more than likely 1 or 2 survivors will already have found a generator due to spawning on it and have already begun repairs.

By the time the killer finds a survivor and starts a chase those generators are around 45-55%, by the time the killer down and hooks the survivor those generators are probably around 85% t0 100%.

Obviously this isn't every game, but the fact that survivors can spawn right on their objectives and complete 3 generators while one survivor is being chased is the problem. If 3 gens get popped during first down its so hard to come back from.

  • The problem is that survivors can spawn spread out on the map, and can also spawn next to generators. So while at the start of the match the killer needs to move around the map to find his objective (survivors), almost every survivor will spawn right next to a generator giving them an immediate start on their objective right from the start.

So not only is the killer wasting time at the start searching for the survivors, while the killer is doing this, survivors are already working on generators. Once the killer finds a survivor and starts the chase, those gens would be around 40% - 50% done. By the time the first survivor is downed those gens will either be 90% or done.

It's more an issue of survivor spawning separated and literally right next to their objective more so than gen rushing. Of course there are SWF who literally want to gen rush but thats another issue.

  • I'm just responding to his comment that they are doing it solely because he "rekt" them the previous match. I doubt many killers even pay attention to the survivors in their games if they win or lose, the only ones you pay attention to and keep note of are toxic #########.

This is definitely untrue. I play against many streamers each week and run into them multiple times. At Rank 1 and if you disable crossplay, you will eventually play against the same killers many, many time. Which is basically where the problem lies. Killer unhappy with result of game or doesn't like that you rekt him in game so then next time you're against them it's an easy tunnel/mori. It's pretty lame to deal with, all of this could be avoided if killers just simply could not see your name/profile.

The only reason why I can see a killer targeting you specifically and tunneling and mori when they know its you is probably not because you "rekt" them, but more than likely you are a toxic cocky survivor who plays SWF.

Technically not really, @Pawcelot has a point. It'd bring new players which is healthy for the game. Bigger player base is gonna be good. But I still stand by my point too that the fanbase is mostly made up of kids with a little under half being adults. The "it's a kid's game" argument doesn't cut it in my opinion. I rather the lore be finished though.

But I fear that the adding of the DLC will create more toxicity though.

Its the Fortnite crowd, it would ruin the fanbase of this game even more so, and those are not the influx of players you want in this game.

  • @Pawcelot said:

Like it or not, but the FNAF franchise that have a large and engaged fanbase and the game series have sold well despite being a niche horror game. Even if you might not like some animatronic bunny robot possessed by a child killer who's corpse still remains within, it'd be a smart business move to add Springtrap as a Killer to DbD as it'd attract the massive fanbase of the franchise.

I'd choose to never have any FNAF content in DBD. Reason is because its a kids game.

  • No matter how I play, I rarely get a GG from survivors, unless at least one of them lives, then usually the survivor who lives says GG, otherwise its either a salt fest or silence.

You obviously are new to gaming and don't know what to look for. I'm a programmer and worked with many gaming company's in revealing cheats in the past so I know what to look for. When I say 90% of PC players use a cheat it's a fact, and has been proven. Even famous "pros" use em and get caught often.

I laughed way too hard at this, I might start using it as the new "Navy Seal" meme.

    • Spirit is ovrhyped. Don't get me wrong she's good, she's very good, but she's not this unstoppable beast people make her out to be. Same for Freddy and Pyramidhead.
    • Nurse is still the only killer that comes close to looking OP. Now it takes a lot of practice to get that good and you need to make very few mistakes, but she still has by far the highest potential in the game and it's ridiculous that some people try to put Spirit over her in tier lists because they read others say it online.
    • DS is also overrated. Killers can still hard tunnel/proxy camp through it, get one out of the game fast enough to try and win the game.
    • $10,000 dollars on the line, competitive tournament and people are bringing NOED. Almost as if it's a really strong perk whereas some people try to downplay it and pretend it's bad.
    • If killers hard tunnel then survivors need to rush gens to escape which means they don't have time to do 5 totems on top. Some people argue they have plenty of time.

I've been saying all this for a long time ๐Ÿค”

You mean the killer NEEDS to tunnel because survivors hard rush gens yeah. High level DBD play is boring as ######### to watch, its literally just rush gens as fast as you can, get out, don't interact with killer.

  • Survivors having sound issues? Welcome to killer every patch.

  • I don't get people who complain about graphics on the Switch.

    2: Steve

    3: Claudette

    4: Nea

I'll just throw my hat in here as well. To me if 3+ survivors escape, when I'm playing killer that's a loss. When 2 survivors escape, and 2 survivors die that's a draw. And when I kill 3+ survivors that's a win.

I don't care that a survivor thinks they won despite 3 teammates dying and they got a free escape through the hatch. The way it sounds from how you are describing it, as long as a single survivor escapes you'll never get a win when you are playing killer. That's pretty ridiculous to me. But half of the survivors dying and half escaping means that in your logic 2 think they lost, and 2 think they won. As a team which it's a team game that is a draw.

I understand what you are saying, and yeah it can seem that its coming off that way. However realistically those 2 survivors did win, and they probably pipped, while as a killer, especially in red ranks if you do not get all 4 you probably don't even black pip.

When i say that a "draw" only benefits survivors, i mean it in the sense of that two get to say they, won, and 2 get to more than likely pip. Hell even the ones that died might have pipped, The killer on the other hand doesn't get to say he won, he lost, and probably didn't pip. That is why I am saying its not balanced.

  • You are viewing the survivors as a single unit. When in reality not many people think this way. Do you honestly believe the 2 survivors that escaped are thinking "oh darn, we drew because 2 of us died"? Hell no, they are thinking they won, they beat the killer.

  • @MrLimonka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601304#Comment_1601304

Again. Subjective opinion. If you escape in solo queue, good for you. But if two other survivors die, then you AS A TEAM have a draw.

And as killer, you are the type of person who thinks the glass is half empty, don't you? Let me tell you, if I got two kills against a good team with 4 DS/unbreakable/BT, then personally I would see it as a WIN, not as a LOSS.

But then again, that's only my opinion. Objectively, looking at the game's perspective, 2k/2e is a draw.

Subjectivity vs objectivity. It's all there is to it, really.

For a draw neither side can win or lose, survivors had 2 winners.

  • @MrLimonka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601259#Comment_1601259

Errr.... Alright, let's put this another way. The survivors are a team consisting of 4 players, the killer is a team consisting of one player. If two survivors escape, and the killer gets 2 kills then each team completed half of their objective. Sounds like a draw, doesn't it?

This situation is OBJECTIVELY a draw. If a survivor thinks they won because they escaped or if a killer thinks they lost because they killed only 2 survivors then that opinion is SUBJECTIVE.

If we went with your logic though, the 2 survivors who lose will view it as a lost match. If two survivors "lose" and two survivors "win", then what does that give you?

And lastly, why would you care about a singular survivor's opinion, anyways? Survivors, as a team only win if 3+ survivors escape.

Because survivors view themselves as a team when it benefits them, such as SWF, yet they also want the 1v1 against the killer.

I can tell you when I play solo queue as survivor If I can save my teammates great, if I was the only one who escaped great, I beat the killer and could care less about the other survivors. I won, I pipped.

Now of course every killer won't think this way, or even care. However what I am saying is overall, the "draw" rhetoric only benefits survivors. It does not benefit killers at all.

If as a killer you work your ass off against 4 ds, 4 adrenaline, 4 borrowed times, and 4 unbreakables and you barely get 2 kills and 2 survivors escape. Those 2 survivors won, they beat you, that killer does not think that was a "draw", that was a loss.

  • @MrLimonka said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601192#Comment_1601192

Then when is there a draw? Half of the survivors completed their objective and the killer completed half of his objective. Seems balanced to me.

And what you said is very subjective. The devs say otherwise.

I doubt any killer thinks oh cool 2 survivors escaped and probably pipped, good draw. Those two survivors who escaped 100% view that as a win for themselves, they could care less about the other two survivors who died because they themselves won and beat the killer.

I'm not saying every killer deserves a 4k, I'm just saying the rhetoric of 2k 2 escape is fair really isn't. It is only fair for survivors, killers gain nothing from this.

  • 2 kill 2 escape isnt balanced. Those two survivors view that as a win for themselves, not a draw. The killer doesn't view that as a draw its a loss. 2 kill 2 escape only benefits survivors.

  • @bjorksnas said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1594014#Comment_1594014

no I understand it, but when people correct something just because they and others can't put 2 and 2 together I would just rather not deal with them

They corrected you because you were wrong, not because they can't put 2 and 2 together.

  • Something I see a lot when I'm killer and survivor even in red ranks are survivors doing outside generators first. Survivors are so afraid to interact with the killer that they do all the easy outside gens first, leaving the more difficult important gens in the center for last, making it easier for me as a killer towards the end of the match, or very difficult for me as survivor.

General PSA, stop doing all the generators that are close together, spread them out, and also try and save outside gens for last to force the killer to travel farther.

Oh and stop using urban evasion, and self care.

  • @azame said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1590644#Comment_1590644

So are you gonna keep assuming for the sake of your strawman argument or? And you keep insulting me rather than making a counter argument 2 logical fallacies. Once again I dont want to "bully" killers I want my input to matter. When a chase is once sided how is that fair or fun?

You clearly are ignoring my reasonings as you keep claiming x despite the fact I'm telling you y. Maybe I'm a little "cocky" but thats just because I want to be chased the fun part of the game. I dont play toxic and only tbag or click for attention.

Do you want swf removed yes or no? You clearly hate swf despite the fact it keeps this game alive because of how ######### solo is.

SWF isn't keeping this game alive, Solo isn't ######### its how the game was intended. Survivors think that just because they die solo is #########. I personally hate SWF, at the highest levels its the worst to go against. However they can easily add an opt-out but they wont do it. There are plenty of good survivors who play solo and do so every day.

Also are you telling me that in your chases if one of your swf goes down the rest of you don't immediately come over and swarm the killer to either blind them, or body block?

  • Why did you avoid the perk question? Is your whole SWF just running small PP build then complaining your gen rush ended in one of your SWF having to DC?

It's literally not impressive when a team escapes based off of immunity and 4 man communication. As I see it, you and your SWF had everything in this game, you have no room to complain.

  • I hate having to slug for the 4k as a red rank killer however more than likely you arent going to be able to 3 hook every survivor, so I'm going to try and get as many points as I can so I care make sure I at least safety pip.

Also too many survivors are stubborn as hell and won't accept that they lost. 3 gens left with 2 survivors up, one goes off and hides and waits for the other to die. If it comes down to one survivor trying to at least do the gens and the other is just hiding, I'll let the survivor who is still trying to play escape and make sure I kill the coward survivor who is expecting hatch.

Uh, you might want to read the post before attempting to make a witty comment. His question, if you had bothered to read past the first line, is "Why are survivors so toxic?"

A question you clearly don't have the answer to, as you seem to be part of the problem.

Why are you posting on year old threads?

  • I just got my last killer Prestige 3 level 50 and I still don't have Tier 1 BBQ

  • This bug has been going on forever. Basically it effects certain killers, survivors who join the match of a killer with this bug have a very high chance to disconnect, yet on their end it will show that the killer disconnected, yet the game is continuing with the killer and the remaining survivors.

I had this back when the Stranger Things DLC first came out and nothing solved it until the next patch got released. I never ran into the issue when I played survivor, but only when I played killer, and it was like you said, 2 or 3 survivors disconnecting within a minute or so into the game.

  • Of course not, but the devs won't ever fix this as they don't want survivors to wait too long for an actual better balanced match.

  • @BabyDweetMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1574273#Comment_1574273

No survivor thinks this. I've been playing for years and I've only heard killer mains say that mocking non existent survivors.

You're one of them. Your joke like mentality of how killers should play.

  • @Yffriium said:

Yes, it's camping. Once you hook a survivor you're supposed to go to the opposite corner of the map, find a survivor, and chase them. You are not allowed to go for the unhooker. You may only chase the unhooked survivor if they have DS, in which case you must pick them up.

(Is this the answer you were looking for? Your question was incredibly loaded, it seems like you already know the answer.)

You would be surprised how many survivors actually think this.

  • Oni isn't a survivor or survivor perk, so probably on the back burner.

  • Could you imagine if they removed this and changed legions power to just being able to 2 shot someone instantly. I'd take that exchange.

  • @llLuxll said:

Ok so I'm a red rank survivor on console (Xbox One) and I'm used to facing a variety of different killers (not same boring killers over and over again) who are very skilled (mind games, map pressure, game sense, etc) and for the most part super enjoyable and never stale.

Now along comes crossplay where we console players get to face off against PC players and oh... my... god...

    Here's how a game against a PC player goes;

Step 1: Freddy, Legion, Clown... That's it. Easy to play killers with low skill ceiling.

Step 2: Cancer builds (super slow builds which prolong the game in such a boring way I'm ready to leave halfway through)

Step 3: Proxy camp. The killer's heartbeat will literally never leave if you're anywhere near the hook.

Step 4: Tunnel. These killers I mean OMG ๐Ÿ˜‚ Borrowed Time? Decisive Strike? PC killers just don't give a #########, they'll hit the unhooked survivor with BT, eat a DS, and still tunnel the survivor down.

Full disclosure if I'm in a team of survivors who know what they're doing it's easy to just finish the gens and get out. But man it's always sad for that ONE line survivor who just doesn't get to have fun.

If you're a PC gamer who mains killer... Patrol gens, explore the map, learn how to loop, and I promise you'll have much more fun than focusing on one survivor per game.

Thats funny because im finding the opposite to be true. Console killers proxy camping, tunneling, ebony mori galore. I feel they see a PC player in lobby and they think they need to "prove" something by making sure they get the kill on them.

But this the thing killer are 50 % of the game. Surviore bring more money but killer are the one that keep this game alive. You see if 400 survivors stop playing the game 100 killers will have longer Q times but if 400 killers stop the 1600 survivors will have longer Q times. And they see that thats why the meke the crossplay.

Survivors will just take over as killer and play by the survivor rule book and lose every game. Perfect scenario.
