Why would you nerf something that would effect 4/5 of your player base? It's much simpler and you lose less money if you nerf something that only effects a small portion.

yesterday i was in a game where the killer disconnected and i somehow got a matchmaking ban for it. just then my game froze and crashed and i also got a match making ban for it.
Why am i getting punished for something i didnt even do?
For starters the game needs to be optimised before you even consider adding a matchmaking ban because lagging out honestly isnt that uncommon.
nothing is wrong on my end, i can play every game perfectly and my internet is really good.
the fact that the devs even considered matchmaking ban on a game full of bugs is bs. why stop people from playing? make the ban like a bloodpoint debt or something because getting locked out of your own game for stuff you didnt do is just #########.
So theres a bug that sometimes occurs where the survivor disconnects from the match, and it shows that the killer disconnected, however the game is going on as normal without the survivor who disconnected.
The killer is still in the game with whatever survivors are remaining.

Imagine thinking a 7000 + full time streamer who plays this game professionally is bad.
Well if an "average" killer main who plays professionally has a lot of problems with killer side, imagine a man who actually has a family and a life OUTSIDE of DBD, or someone who wants to take a break from being a top tier killer.
And as far as the bad survivor thing goes, you can't actually measure the skill between a whole team and a single person. Both sides have different goals, one side chases while the other is chased, and there isn't really much of a tug o war system here, as much as it should be anyway. You could have more blood points than 3/4ths of survivor side and de-pip, while you can die and pip as survivor, there is no consistency between the two so that's a fallacy.
I don't understand what's so difficult for you guys to grasp. Even Scott Jund Begrudgingly admitted SWF teams can be overpowering, even if he sanctioned that with a BS unknowable of killers not facing Tourney SWF nearly as much as they think (said something stupid like only 1% of SWF play like that, well where is that magic BS logic in regards to the number of frame perfect killers?)
People don't like him so they say hes bad. It has nothing to do with actual skill, they just don't like him because he points out blatant obvious issues in the game, and it just so happens most of them are in favor of survivors over killer.
"Good Killer" translates to killer mains who play in a way I agree with. Killer mains who think SWF is okay and not an issue, and that 2 kill 2 escape is balanced.

I just want to never get another corn map, Ormond, or Haddonfield.

I have never seen that standard applied to survivors. They complain all day that spirit, freddy and billy (previously) are op, but never seen them play them.
Taken from another thread:
"Nah I have seen many skilled killers get 4K without any tunneling. Its bad killers that think they have to sweat trough games and 4K at any cost. They just need to get better instead of relying on boring tactics."
You see this mentality spouted a lot by survivors. Yet you know that none of them can ever back up their words, playing killer at red ranks the way survivors want you to play is always going to end in a loss for you and an escape for them.

Generally yeah. The typical thing i see is someone will talk about gen speeds or gen rushing or something of the like, then post of a video of tru3ta1ent. People then spend the time discussing how true is apparently terrible at the game or how they are ignoring the person because they post a true video. I did so a while back and got the same treatment. But people generally are posting these videos as evidence of problems they have also experienced, because, as i said, they aren't recording every game they play.
Tru3 just posted a video of 4 gens being done in 3 minutes. But survivors will say hes #########, and he needs to pressure better. They wont acknowledge how strong SWF is, and splitting up on gens at the start of the game is.

Ok sure every swf has an advantage due to map wide communication. Thst does not mean they can loop optimally. Not every swf is an optimal death squad which is what you are assuming and implying. You cant nerf self without nerfing solo. The best course of action is to by off solo to swf level then buff killers to compensate.
I am not bias myself I favor survivor over killer but I always play rank 1 killer to understand kille problems and see what they struggle with to make my views more objective rather than subjective. Survivors do need buffs that's the thing for one if a map like shelter woods is chosen their should be a guaranteed jungle gym I've had variations with zero that's not fair considering the bad pallets.
That's the reason you rarely see solo, solo sucks and playing with friends is better and more fun
No I am not assuming and implying that every SWF is a death squad. But every SWF will have an inherent advantage due to communication. The better the rank survivors in that SWF the bigger the advantage.
You are very bias, no matter what you say, your posts and responses make it evident. You want to be able to 1v1 every killer in the game otherwise you deem them "boring", this game is a 4v1, I said it in your last thread. Lets say you are as skilled as you say, if every survivor in your team was you, you would escape every game because the killer would never be able to catch any of you. How is that even fair or fun? The killer should be, and needs to be stronger and have an advantage over a singular survivor.
I agree with your map statement, too many maps at the moment are terrible for killer, way too big. Some are bad for survivor, The Game, etc.
Rank 1 solo survivor I sweat way less, and its way less stressful than rank 1 killer. I agree playing with your friends is fun, but you cannot deny the unbalance that brings.

No optimal swf is the power role not survivors. There are alot of weak killers that need buffs. Survivors need buffs and qol you domt like to hear that. You shouldn't comment if you are gonna have a bias towards killers. You dislike anything survivor related and are ok with the devs nevlexting the problem
Dont say tru3 points out flaws with both sides it's only killers even though killers have many flaws.
Dude it's not just optimal SWF, any SWF in red ranks is going to have an advantage over the killer. I agree that survivors do need some basic QoL changes, but not buffs overall. You can't buff solo survivor without making SWF stronger.
And dont talk to be about bias, you are incredibly bias yourself. I play killer more than survivor yes, so I see a lot of the problems killers face at the higher ranks. Everyone agrees that killer is way more stressful and difficult at the higher levels than survivor, so whenever anyone wants to buff survivors further I take it as a joke.
I know solo queue sucks, but lets be real, almost every single match will have at least 2 SWF in it. I don't even remember the last time I had a full solo queue match in red ranks.

No it's not odd at all really, survivors are the power role and need nerfs. Too many killers are weak at the higher level. You just don't like to hear it.

No, they just drop the pallet preemptively, similar to how one might do so when facing Clown.
Ah I see, however I wouldn't really say thats a weakness or counter to Pig since preemptively dropping pallets against any killer has pretty much the same effect.
Another little known thing though, were you aware you can dash backwards with her if you start your dash angled towards the wall? Super fun to do the moon dashes around pallets.

But the streamer is a Fog Whisperer. lmao
Tru3 is a Fog Whisperer yet most survivors hate him because he doesnt spew the pro-survivor rhetoric that a lot of Fog Whisperers do. He plays both killer and survivor equally, and points out flaws on both sides.
However any Fog Whisperer killer main that thinks SWF isn't a big deal or offers a massive advantage, or that 2 escape 2 kill is fair is considered a "good" killer.

The biggest problem I face when trying to use the ambush is that Survivors will often just drop the pallet before I get a chance to take control of the loop. Once that pallet is down, ambush does nothing.
Yeah, something you can try is crouching between the pallet, so the survivor either has to run away, or risk taking the dash hit if they want to try and drop the pallet.

Her dash is completely useless past rank purple.
Trapp addons are the best at slowing the crazy fast gens at red ranks.
Her dash is not useless at all. 80% of Pig players dont even use it so people think its awful. There is a huge difference when going against a pig who uses her dash at loops and a pig who doesn't. Her dash is incredibly strong at loops.
-
Its all dedication. Of course at the higher ranks you are going to be getting a lot better survivors who can loop better in general and also know how to play against the new nerfed Nurse. Make your two blinks count!

You will never be able to convince people to make a sound decision on their own. Too many people are far too lazy to get better at something or research something on their own. They just jump on bandwagon hate trains or any other hot take mimic'd my others who had similar experiences.
"Deathslinger beat me, I couldn't tell when he was going to shoot, not fun, boring." You hear this over and over. Something new I am seeing is that survivors who claim that "boring" doesnt mean a weak killer that is easy to beat, is that they try to say Nurse and Huntress are "fun" to go against.
Yeah new Nurse is "fun" to go against I bet. They wouldn't be saying that with old Nurse. What's "fun" for survivors are extremely high skill cap killers who survivors know are few and far between. Majority of Nurses they will go against are going to be a joke, majority of Huntresses they go against won't hit all their hatchets.
What's "boring" to survivors are killers who remove or make it very difficult to use standard looping tactics against. Killers SHOULD be the power role, but they aren't. Survivors shouldn't be able to ever loop a killer forever, its a 4v1 not a 1v1. Too many survivors think they should be able to 1v1 a killer at all times, otherwise the killer is "boring".

I get that but killers do know that camping, especially early game IS annoying to the other side and DOES ruin people's games. The only time I'd say camping was okay is end game. Camping then at least makes sense. But to camp me after one chase is just rude and scummy. And they know it.
I agree that camping is boring. You don't know how badly I don't want to sweat every game as killer. But every single red rank game as killer you have to sweat, you have to slug, and more than likely you are going to have to force a second stage hook, especially against an SWF.
Survivors always complain about the way killers play yet a lot of it is necessary in higher ranks due to the incredible amount of second chance perks, coordination, and gen speed.
-
Combat Straps, everything else is just filler imo. Even Video Tape isn't that good because it can mess up your muscle memory if you play her a lot.
Amanda's Letter can be very fun on indoor maps you force, like Lerry's, The Game, Hawkins.

I used to bring party streamers and the anniversary cakes but now I feel like I'm supporting their crappy ways so I just bring bloodpoint offerings for myself or other survivors.

Yup there it is that us vs them mentality. I dont want to be able to loop forever. I want a fair chance at outplaying the killer which you are ignoring my words.
Survivors dont asnt easy games we want games where our input matters slinger ignores this. If a killer that makes it hard Is boring how about nurse, good billy, oni, huntress, killers that had better designs, designs that actually had survivors fun and counterplay in thought.
Its frustrating talking to someone with an obvious killer bias who refuses to look at things objectively the 1v1 is the most fugi n part of the game! If you cant have a fair chance outplaying why play gen sim.
There are things about him I don't like for sure and think should be changed, for example I don't think a ranged killer should have such a small terror radius, especially considering that 90% of red rank killers run Monitor and Abuse on him.
But I don't agree with you on the fair 1v1. Overall yes, you can delay the inevitable as a survivor in a chase, but the killer should almost always get you, unless you severely outclass the killer you are facing. I don't think you should be able to consistently loop a killer through multiple gens, or consistently lose a killer in a chase if the killer is equally skilled as the survivor.
-
@azame said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1561001#Comment_1561001
No we dont expect to 1v1 a killer but the chase should be fair game who ever plays better wins not press m2 to zone or let me just zone by existing. Its always the same argument for people like you "survivors want easy killers to bully, survivors complain so the killer gets nerfed."
Look at things objectively he makes the only interactive part of the game unfun because you provide no input and you cant counter it. You didnt even deny his chase power is strong.
Hes supposed to be strong in the 1v1. You aren't going to be able to loop him forever. And that is exactly what survivors want, maybe not necessarily to bully killers but they want to win games easily of course. Any killer that makes that harder to do, "boring".
-
Thats the thing, survivors expect to be able to 1v1 every single killer otherwise the killer is "boring" to play against.
-
Killer fun and game play isn't the Devs priority. There are 4 times as many survivor mains as there are killers, so making sure the survivors have fun and don't leave the game brings in more money for the Devs.
So instead of making SWF wait longer for a proper match, or making 3 red ranks and a rank 20 face a new killer, they just throw them against any killer so they don't have to wait long.
-
You have to have unlocked all the perks via the other survivors and killers first, but yes, technically you don't need to prestige and you will eventually get them all.

They said they were going to do interviews about the graphic update, crossplay and the new killer. Was there anything interesting in those topics?
They interviewed several members of the Dev team, but didn't really learn anything new outside of what we already know. Maybe I missed it if they discussed or announced anything new but I don't think I did.
Unfortunately it was just a really really boring survivor main stream tbh. Outside of the EU bracket matches where it seemed everyone was trying to win when they played killer whether they were a survivor or killer main, every single NA bracket game was snooze fest. Generators getting done instantly, 99% exit gates, 0 kills or 2 kills at most.
So many times the killer could have secured more kills or even 4k'd but purposefully threw the game and allowed the survivors to escape. I get that its for fun and not a serious thing, but how can you even call it a tournament when none of the NA players even tried. It was extremely embarrassing to watch.

PS4 player here, its only since cross play that I've started using DS and unbreakable etc. Used to love running meme builds but I must say PC killers love to sweat, theres alot of camping and tunnelling at red ranks and just general toxicity (lol I always used to think DBD was toxic, but cross play somehow brought it to a new level, game was never this sweaty and toxic with just PS4 players) so I am forced to play like this. I'm not giving up on cross play tho just gonna adapt I guess
"PC killers love to win" I think is what you meant. Forgive us for dealing with multiple second chance perks per survivor in every single game in red ranks.
I wish we could all run more meme and fun builds as killer or survivor, but as you see, the moment you don't try to win you just get obliterated.
I constantly run my trolly meme slug build as survivor, Unbreakable, Flip-Flop, Soul Guard and Tenacity just for that one time that it works out. Unfortunately 99% of the time it doesnt work and the killer doesn't even slug me lol. But when it does work its totally worth it.

Some of the players you probably watch barely had killer experience. Beside, everyone was just having fun.
I get that, but there was a severe difference in game play when you looked at the EU matches vs the NA matches.
Its really embarrassing and boring to watch every NA match play out the same. Every gen pops instantly, killer can potentially get kills or 4k but plays extremely stupid on purpose to allow everyone to escape or barely secure 1 kill.
All that does is reinforce peoples mindset that killers don't need to get kills, and that survivors should always escape. A ton of survivors already think this. Its like the NA games were trying so hard to either 0k or force the 2 kill 2 escape narrative that BHVR probably fed them before hand.

Back when the Stranger Things chapter came out every killer game I played I had at least 2 survivors disconnect from my match. However on their end it would say that I was the one that disconnected even though the match continued on as normal with the remaining survivors. This wasn't fixed until the next patch unfortunately. I even unistalled, re-installed, cleared cache and whatever other mumbo jumbo the "tech support" suggested.
If this issue is still going on and it effects the survivors who get disconnected from the match when its not their fault at all, thats rough.

other than the EU bracket its been nothing but survivor mains playing by the survivor rule book. Incredibly boring matches where the killer isnt even trying and all the gens get popped instantly.

I just hate how people keep this community divided. If I have an opinion about killer, then I am a survivor main pretending to be a killer main. If I have an opinion about survivor, then I am a baby killer main. We need to address the issues of the game together and making a split in the community is going to do anyone any good.
I also want to mention the double standard that people have on this forum. For example. I made a post yesterday talking about how killers should have a way to forfeit the match and end the game early just as how survivors are able to kermit on first hook. I was met with "Baby killer wants the game handed to him in a platter."
Is this because of the last thread you made? You made an idiotic statement that every good killer knows would throw the game, it has nothing to do with you being a killer or survivor main. In reality though, especially on these forums, people are going to complain about things on the opposite end of what they play.
Survivors want to nerf killers and killers want to nerf survivors. There are a lot of people who post about possible solutions to fix things in general that are blatantly broken that either side refuses to acknowledge or admit.

Maybe that makes the match feel more casual (?
I can only speak for myself but I see a lot of other PC players saying the same thing. Most of the console survivors I go against, SWF or solo tend to play way more stealthy and less aggressive than most PC players are used to. So I think that add to the feeling of being more laid back and chill.
In reality this drives me up the wall though, I hate playing hide and seek and would rather play and actual game than a 10 minute hide n seek when its down to the last two blendettes on Midwich when neither are working on gens just waiting for the other to die to try and get hatch.

Yes, because I want a nerf to killers must mean I am a survivor main. Just like how I want a survivor nerf must mean I am a baby killer main.
No, its because of your obvious ######### opinion on how a killer should play. If you were actually a decent killer you would know at red ranks its almost a free win for survivors if you have zero slowdown on gens.
Survivors literally pop them out incredibly fast in red ranks that if you play the way survivors want you to play you will lose every game. You can continue to play the you are playing and hover around green ranks if that makes you happy, but hell no I'm not going to give survivors free gens just because.
If I have to deal with decisive strike, unbreakable, dead hard, adrenaline, and borrowed time every match, im sure 4 survivors can handle 2 slow down perks from the killer.
