Killers wont stop whining about DS until it literally does nothing. A change that harsh on the perk, and people are still whining that it's too strong. It's your fault for tunneling in the first place. It's understandable to be annoyed when every survivor on the team has the damn perk. But bitching when its used at all is childish. Nobody should be punished because the killer is rage tunneling 1 guy into oblivion and they're forced to loop the entire game or get blasted to hell. Can we suggest some actually balanced changes instead of making survivors more helpless?

Inb4 this gets dismissed as bait by killer mains and they proceed to complain that "new ruin is bad" still.

How is it possible that I've "tunneled" multiple people at once then and got hit by 2 DS in a row?

  • You have a much much more higher chance to go against some form of SWF over a full solo queue lobby. Just because you queue up solo doesn't mean the others in the lobby are solo too. More than likely its a 3-1, 2-2, or even 2-1-1.

  • 3 minute sweat fest games? No thanks

I feel I should commet on the camping aspect of this post. I don't mind tunneling and see that as a strategy. The reason why survivor don't like camping,( or at least in my opinion) is that it doesn't feel earned at all. Its why killers don't like second chance perks like Dead Hard, DS and Borrowed Time, because the strong pressure they give doesn't feel like the survivors earned it, and camping is in the same boat. Like seriously why should the killer get a free hook state or a free kill because they just stood their with nothing the survivors could do. Its even worse with top tier high mobility killers. Killers like hillbilly, Spirit, Blight, and nurse makes even easier to proxy camping.

The fact of the matter is that camping the person on the hook to get a free kill shows you did not do a lot to deserve that kill and therefore feels unfair. Now I know their are certain situations in which camping is good to help you win which I agree, but this is just an overall reason for the negative reaction for camping.

I agree to an extent, but you have to also understand that it's unreasonable for survivors to expect a killer to get 12 hooks a game. Would that be considered "deserving"?

The game goes by way too fast, especially in red ranks you will not and cannot play killer thinking "I have to 3 hook every survivor". You will lose.

  • Every survivor who complains about "terrible" teammates holding them back in solo queue, I can almost guarantee those "terrible" teammates think the same exact thing about you in every game. Every player likes to think they are better than everyone else they are playing with, and its always someone else fault for their failure.

  • Survivor retention rate is far more important than killer retention rate to the Devs, because there are far more survivors than killers, and that brings in more money.

If an SWF has been waiting for a while in queue, the devs allow the matchmaker to break from its normal rules of only finding ranks within a certain parameter to just joining in any lobby that comes up. There are going to be more low rank killers than high rank killers comparative to high rank survivors, so new killers will often be forced to play against red rank swf with their low rank friend. The killer quitting the game due to it being unfair is whatever, as they can easily be replaced.

Survivor on the other hand, since they bring in vastly more money just because there are 4 x as many than killers, the devs will do whatever they can to keep them. So that is preferential treatment when it comes to matchmaker. If 3 new players join the game with their red rank buddy playing in SWF and they are going against nothing but red rank killers stomping and killing them all day, they probably will not be playing the game again. So the devs allow new killers to become fodder for those players as a trade off. It's better to lose 1 potential new player than 4 potential new players.

Dude I bet you've played Call of Duty, other shooters, or any Nintendo game. Just because a lot of kids like or play a certain game doesn't mean it was designed for them. Kids run rampant in most genres ever. If you polled the average middle schooler I'm sure most of them would say they have seen one. Because kids watch horror movies does that mean Dead by Daylight is a kids game? Of course not, fnaf has blood, murder, and everything else that dbd has.

Usually somebody who claims they don't want something because it isn't "mature" enough is a huge indication that they aren't mature either and are probably not even an adult.

Oh no, you got me dude.

Absolutely, the fact that a petition exists does not mean that it will happen. Just pointing out that 60k people signed. 60k, in relative numbers, is a lot bigger than zero 🤔

Not even arguing with the "I bet all those 60k people are FNaF fans only" because you have zero data to back up that claim. Not to mention that, if that were the case, that would mean that a bunch of new people would be getting into DBD if Springtrap got added into it, and more people getting into the game is always a good thing. If possible, please refrain from "but all those new players would be 12 year olds and that would be bad for the game" me, because you don't have any data to back up that claim either.

But all those players would be man children.

There was a petition going on that 60k people signed supporting FNaF x DBD. 60k sounds a bit far from "no one" to me.

The fact that threads about FNaF x DBD keep showing up in these forums (to the point of being obnoxious) is also proof that there are, in fact, people who want FNaF x DBD.

"FNaF doesn't belong in DBD" too bad some of the devs think differently, given how a couple of them have shown their interest in adding a FNaF killer to the game.

Last but not least, if you don't like the idea you can simply ignore it. No need to be a douche.

And those 60k are all DBD fans? Doubt it, I bet an overwhelming majority are solely Fnaf fans, also petitions are what? Absolutely nothing. As I said, if the devs add it, thats on them, we cant control that.

Apparently some people do because they keep making topics about it.

Honestly it sounds more like you are scared that it might actually happen because a decent amount of people are interested in the idea. I don't even care myself either way; but just trolling the forums to do nothing but dump on people; rudely I might add- for merely liking something is childish.

No, a very small group of people do, and they keep taking turns creating threads about it. As for trolling? All I said is I like it better without him in the game, the Fnaf fans are the ones that get super triggered about hearing that.

It has been talked in circles over and over, an overwhelming majority do not want Fnaf in this game. If they do add it, they add it, we cant control that. However that doesn't mean that we should like it.

People only spam new topics because people like the above person tend to dogpile them for liking a thing; ignoring any and all actual discussion.

If people would stop doing that; they could make one topic on it and we could just redirect them to that one; and in return moderators should let them have the posts trying to derail any actual discussion, with pointless complaints, removed.

If the majority of the community is continuously shutting down these topics shouldn't that be a hint that no one wants it?

Alright, guy, first of all, FNaF is NOT a kid's game.

Especially given the blatant child murder going on in the plot of the games.

Second of all, while yes, FNaF spam is obnoxious as hell by now, there's no need to be a toxic doichebag about it.

Ignore it if you don't like it. Simple as that.

    lol whatever you say dude.

Why do you need to feel the need to put people down? Just let people be happy. No one cares that you dont like FNaF.

A lot more people dislike Fnaf than like. You can like your kid game, no one is saying you can't. Just get it out of these forums, it's non-stop spam every day about this stupid character and Fnaf doesn't belong in this game at all.

Are you going to be asking for Fortnite dances next?

  • I like it better with Spring trap not in the game.

  • They only listen to survivor complaints since they care more about their retention than killers.

  • of course thats how it should be, however the devs care more about survivor retention rate than killers, since survivors are far more in number and will bring in more money. So if new survivors are forced to play against red rank killers that just kill them every game they are less likely to keep playing. Instead they allow red rank SWF to manipulate the matchmaking allowing new players and their thousands upon thoursands hours played friends to queue against new killers.

If that killer gets frustrated of going against imbalanced matches and quits so what, they will just be replaced eventually.

  • This is also the reason why survivors always herald him to the the most "balanced and fun" killer. Because hes really bad as a killer, meaning survivors have an easier time escaping and bullying him.

  • @DawnMad said:

Let's not punish people for playing together, shall we?

its only okay to punish Killer. Got it.

  • @Yords said:

I am really unsure. But if I had to take a well-educated guess, I would say mostly ineffective. Since people will expect this to be a much more common combo, they will be much more equipped to deal with it. It is also only two totems and if they are both decent or trash totem spawns, that is two perk slots given up for nothing.

They are already equipped to deal with Ruin / Undying, they just dont want to sacrifice perks, items, or time to do so.

  • @SilentPill said:

It’s a risk you run playing a 32m terror radius killer without whispers or monitor.

Immersive survivors are super annoying even when they are doing generators so I typically run one or the other.

There is a difference between an immersed survivor and two survivors purposely hiding after they created a 3 gen situation and are refusing to progress the game.

  • Survivor mains will say you are the one holding the game hostage by not leaving the area of the three gens to look for the survivors so the survivors can freely work on the generators to escape.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

One trend I frequently see in discussions is a manner in which a gameplay element is brought up, Survivors cry about it, Killers rebuke it with a form of counterplay, and the Survivors in turn then say something along the lines of "I shouldn't have to do that." or "Why should I be punished by having to do X?" in response.

This is a really strange take for me, because one of things that is often lamented by Survivors is the fact that this game often feels like "an M1 Simulator" and how boring it is to sit on gens all day.

A very valid Survivor criticism that they have against Killers that accuse them of gen rushing is "What else am I supposed to be doing? It's our only objective."

And they are right. Scott Jund has made this point numerous times (particularly in his video about breakable walls where he said that Survivors should have to build them and they should not just spawn in) that Survivors are left with little to do at the game onset, and are in fact rewarded for doing nothing else.

Okay, so then why is it so bad when Killers respond to NOED complaints with "Do the totems then?" and the Survivors howl about it.

"I shouldn't have to go pick someone off the ground because the Killer is a slug lord."

"I shouldn't have to heal myself constantly because the Spirit can hear me while injured."

"I shouldn't have to go back and find my item because the Killer brought Franklin's."

    I shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have to. I shouldn't have to.

What then, SHOULD a Survivor be expected to do? This is a serious question. What sort of gameplay do you want when you are not happy riding generators but bristle and hiss at the suggestion you engage in any other sort of behavior that isn't gate teabagging or flashlighting or killer looping?

You should be expected to win every match against only M1 killers and bully them with your SWF squad then talk ######### freely in end game chat.

I could say the same about evil within.

I think that game is awful, and even comedically predictable with its scares.

But you know what? I don't put people down for wanting an Evil Within chapter.

    Maybe you should as well.

Cool dude. FNAF is still a childs game.

  • There aren't enough monster killers in the game, and she has a truly creepy appearance that I think could add some much added spice to the game and actually make a killer scary again.

  • You had me until the Fnaf chapter.

  • I've mentioned before that Laura (creature) from the first game would be a terrifying killer, if added to DBD.

  • I'd say at this point SWF % is by far higher than solo queue %.

  • Bad matchmaking for you, good matchmaking for survivors. Doing pretty good as always. The Devs thew balance out the window to favor SWF not having to wait longer than they actually should for a match and just place them against any killer.

She in a SWF with me so I couldn't tell if she would have wanted me to leave but she was just teabagging the entire time. Unfortunately she had to corner herself because she cleansed his NOED which had spawned in that corner. I think that is why he did it.

AH the SWF, the true reason.

The problem is if we open the exits she will die. That is the issue. We would then be working with the killer to get him a kill by opening the exits because he isn't going to suddenly stop body blocking her when we open the gates.

You wouldn't be working with the killer, you are just trying to justify your actions of not leaving when you could.

  • You could open the gates and leave, you are holding the game hostage.

I got a warning from this post. How much of a nanny state is this forum I got a warning for "insulting a group of people". After asking what group I was told I insulted people that disagree with me which is apparently defined as a group. I've asked them to permanently delete my account as I don't agree with the crazy speech suppressing rules of the forum. I mean the guy who warned me was named "gay meyers" just his name alone is way more offensive than anything I posted. Putting your sexual orientation in your name is fairly offensive and unnecessary. Hopefully me calling him out will make him delete the account faster or permanently ban me, but I'd prefer the account were just deleted and I don't see that as an option.

You could try Parler. I think that's a better forum for you.

  • The issue is that majority of games will be SWF over a full solo lobby. It's unfortunate when you get "bad" teammates, yet I can guarantee they think the same exact thing about you.

SWF makes this game way too easy for survivors, obviously as a solo player it can be harder to realize this, but even solo you can escape quite often.

  • "Fellow Killer Mains" okay Azame

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The best way to play killer is to basically let the survivors win whilst still giving them somewhat of a challenge. Chase them off gens so they aren’t stuck playing gen sim all day. Let them get pallet hits and flashlight you if they have one. Down them and hook them ONLY ONCE each. After hooking them go stand in the corner on the opposite side of the map so the other survivors can get their saving points. After they each have been hooked once you can down them ONE more time so they can get some healing points. Continue chasing them whilst not hitting them until they fix the last gen and open the exit door. If they choose to t bag in the exit gate, stand there and watch them do it so they feel satisfied with their win. Then let them all leave. Also, DO NOT bring any hex perks as those are all toxic as hell!!! And no one likes looking for totems anyway as they take up way too much time that could be put to more productive uses. If you choose to play Spirit DO NOT use Stridor! DO NOT PLAY FREDDY! DO NOT PLAY NURSE UNLESS YOU ARE A POTATO NURSE! DEATHSLINGER IS ALSO OFF LIMITS! If they bring or find a key, DO NOT bring Franklin's Demise. Let them use the key and find hatch. If you use this strategy then I can guarantee you will become the perfect killer main that no survivor will deem toxic or boring!

Just in case anyone thinks I’m being serious here, I’m joking, seriously play however you want and try to ignore the entitled morons on both sides as best you can and try to have fun:)

I think you would be surprised how many people would love this.

  • I feel this is a new player and sees Unbreakable as a wasted perk slot, and fills thier 4 perks with Spine Chill, Urban Evasion, Self Care, and Premonition.

  • @Okapi said:

I mean why would they want to hide the fact you faced a SWF group or groups in the endgame screen? The match is already over so dodging isn't a concern and if according to the precious D A T A, groups are balanced, there's no reason not to.

It's not like every killer will start remembering the names of every SWF member just to later doge them in the slim chance they meet them again in a gaming session.

It's 100% because they lie in their data. There will be some form of SWF in every lobby you get as killer. Survivors like to think that just cause they queued solo, it means the lobby they filled is with 3 other solos, and killers over-exaggerate how many SWF they go against.

In reality its so incredibly rare to go against a full solo lobby, I'd say its far more rare to get a full solo queue lobby than it is to get a full 4 man SWF lobby.

The devs can never show who is in SWF because of that reason alone, it will show how much they have been lying all these years about the player base, and specifically matchmaking.

  • Because Devs favor getting survivors into a match rather than having them wait longer for a more balanced one. Survivors are 3/4th of the player base, they bring in more money. So it's in the devs best interest to cater to them.

  • Blood points doesnt matter when you still get so little because in red ranks games are done in 5 minutes. Those weaker killers aren't played as much because with killers already at a disadvantage you are shooting yourself in the foot even more.

  • @NMCKE said:

They don't want players to see it and negativity manipulate their MMR to get easier matches (and potentially ruin the fun of beginners who are just picking up the game)!

As good as it would be to see where I stand, giving players that information can hurt DBD'a playerbase! It's a real sad we can't have good things because of others! 😕

Survivors already do this. You see it constantly. Whether survivors can see their MMR or not, they abuse the matchmaking system to get newer killers to bully, or queue up with their rank 20 friend to get a new killer.

  • Non solo-queue is a nightmare for killers.

  • They won't ever show it, because it will reveal the massive imbalance in matchmaking, when the 4 red rank survivors are going against a brown - green rank killer, and every survivor main says that ranks dont matter.

To save time and not make those red rank survivors have to wait longer than they already do for balanced match, they literally just place them against any open killer.

  • The thing is, killer meta changes way more often than survivor meta. The problem with survivor meta is the core second chance perks that ruin any hope of meta change.

DS, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Deadhard. Those 4 perks alone make it almost impossible to change survivor meta, since almost every survivor in red rank will run those to some extent.

The most we have seen survivor meta changed is with the introduction of Soul Guard, which just added another layer to Unbreakable. Until those 4 core second chance perks get a significant nerf, or there is some way to limit stacking second chance perks, Survivor meta wont / can't change.

  • @TangledNoodles said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1835493#Comment_1835493

Of course both sides complain, but who's actually getting the constant nerfs?

All I'm seeing lately is killer getting reworks (buffs). Freed went from being the weakest killer (I thought he was still fun to play as) to being 1 of the strongest.

Killers are getting the constant nerfs... I don't understand what you are trying to say here. And in terms of "reworks", that doesn't always mean buffs. A lot of the times it made killers weaker in certain areas, all on the behalf of making it easier for survivors.

I play both sides as well, as does almost everyone on these forums. And I can say that survivor is without a doubt incredibly easier than killer.

  • @TangledNoodles said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1835479#Comment_1835479

They weren't but the amount of killers that ######### about things vs survivors is way higher imo.

Take mori's for example, they used to be an insta kill back in the day. Now that they got nerfed all I see is complaining over and over.

Are you for reals? Any killer that can kill effectively is immediately deemed "boring" by majority of the survivor player base. And 99% of the time, that killer gets a significant nerf.

  • I think a better question is how many SWF refuse to admit they are an SWF and claim to be solo.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

Uninstalling is a bit excessive, but then again... seeing how many fogwhisperers are encouraging being hypertoxic on either side... maybe it's for the better. Hope you'll find a game that's not rotting from the inside

The community is destroying itself because of some little selfish douchebags with a bloated ego, and the devs do nothing.

Only the survivor Fog Whisperers are encouraging this type of game play.

  • No one wants to play killer due to how terrible the devs allow matchmaking to be. If you are a rank 20 killer or a rank 1 killer, 70% you are going against a red rank survivor team. That shouldn't be the case.

If 3 red rank SWF queue up with their 4th rank 20 friend, they should 100% go against a red rank killer, not the other way around. As the game is now, everything is in favor of survivors when it comes to matchmaking.

  • @ukenicky said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/213163/do-you-think-its-possible-well-ever-have-a-non-toxic-community

I play survivor either solo queue or I play with friends and 9/10 times get mean killers. I'm talking the kind who hit you on hook and delay the end as much as possible by acting like they'll let you go only to torture you basically and either let end game collapse kill you or kill you their self last second and then be even more mean in end game chat.

And when I play killer if I go up against SWFs they're usually cheeky but not TOO bad in terms of toxicity. This is probably bcuz I'm not high rank killer and I know the mega sweat squads are higher rank but for the most part I have fairish matches as Killer and usually give the last person hatch if I murdered their team lol and everyone is nice end game chat.

I find it a lot easier to have fun as killer because when the killer messes around everyone suddenly lightens up and we all have a laugh, like when you boop the pig snoot and suddenly it's a meme match.

Anyways to answer the OP question I think so but there's always going to be toxic people. All I can say is that, it all starts with all of us individually. Don't be one of the toxic ones.

Idk how people can be toxic without any reason whatsoever

I dont believe this at all for a second. I play solo survivor all the time and rarely come across a toxic killer, and when I do its usually the type that brings a Mori cause you know their last game went bad.

However almost every single game as killer, there is at least 1 ######### survivor in the group. It is by far way more rare to have a game that is enjoyable on fun on both sides than getting one with some toxic asshat in it.
