You know what else is also boring, Killers getting gen rushed, by the time u find a survivor 2 gens will be done then while your chasing maybe another goes off and also lets not forget the biggest boring thing of all is just survivors holding your W key.
If survivors only hold W, they're easy to down. You should be worried about the ones who can actually loop around tiles.
Yes, "genrush" is very boring, but actual "genrush" is rarer than you might think. Genrush is not survivors doing gens, actual genrush is like OP said, people who bring 4 toolboxes with BNP, prove thyself, resilience and other gen focused perks.

Most likely never.
Once algorithm cannot find equal mmr, it spreads its wings into (more likely) lower / higher brackets.
Since there is lesser amount of newer players rather then veterans, they are unlucky and being matched with them.
Giving some sort of penalties (mmr rise) to swf, will just prolong the carry time to higher mmrs, and once they decide to go soloQ, you will meet them again.
SBMM should go away, you should be able to see lobby mmr, which at the end might even promote more dodging
I disagree with the thought of there being more veteran than new players, specially now that it was free on Epic.
I genuinely think that MMR is not even on, since queue times on both sides for me are instant (depending on time of the day), and I still get put with newer players.
Though on the killer side, I was queuing as Freddy (which is the one I play the most), dodged the lobby to try The Artist for the first time, and got the exact same team I dodged, instantly. So either it isn't making the difference between killers you're alright at and the ones you don't play, or is genuinely not working at all for both sides.
One of the reasons I changed for crossplay off, was because survivor at night time was borderline unplayable with the team mates I was getting , though killer on crossplay on is much more enjoyable because people are less sweaty.
-
Even with it's flaws, it's still my favorite game, so I keep playing because it's the only good one of the genre.

Yes. Both kinda at the same time but I would say I it is more towards "what I think other players like to play more offten".
Ok here's mine.
Keep in mind I'm on PC EU and with Crossplay Off. This is what I see in my survivor matches.
-
I have to disagree here.
If a killer is way "above your league" they deserve to win. The issue there is that no one should be way above anyone's league, because SBMM is supposed to place with people of similar skill. Which it isn't because "winning" conditions to get higher MMR are just really flawed.
-
What you mean popular? More played or people like more?
-
I don't think not getting "paid enough" it's the actual problem.

Well yeah, they're not doing gens. So what are they actually doing? There has to be some sort of word to describe when you're not playing to win, but are instead playing to do something to the other side whilst also denying them any victory, exciting chase, or use of their powers.
How are they denying you the "victory"?
So if someone is denying chase etc, they're a bully. So the "valid" camping "strat" is also bullying? Or is it just bullying when the survivors do it?

what are the head on (apply directly to the forehead)/locker flashlight teams that won't leave for ten minutes doing, then...?
They're literally just survivors not doing gens with the weakest exhaustion perk.

Game needs to be balanced around hooks, not kills. Someone who got 2 hooks but killed those 2 survivors with it, looks balanced on the stats, when the game wasn´t balanced at all.
Never said kill streaks are a sign of being balanced. But people take things from over a year ago, when they claim that killers are currently OP. The end of kill streaks just proves this. Oh and since you ask, some of those streamers are doing escape streaks. Even after the sbmmr started. Balanced, huh?
Yeah, we haven´t gotten any official stats in 2 years. Thats why i said: "Of course, my perception of the game might greatly vary from everyone elses. But, for example. When Otz played survivor. His escape rate was also drastically higher than what most people claim."
Where in my comments did I say killers are OP tho? I don't believe anything is "OP" in the game, besides some perks who need adjustments and some maps.
I find it funny that a week ago there was a thread where everyone was saying we shouldnt balance the game around streamers because Otz said playing killer wasn't as bad as everyone says, but now people agree with him again. Curious.

There is no "bully builds", there's perks you can use. It's like saying NOED is a bully perk. It isnt.

Im saying that survivors brag about "bullying" a killer. Tunneling and camping are viable strategies. Its been said over and over again. Bullying on the other hand isn't.
There is no "bullying" unless they're insulting in end game chat.
-
Because every time I cleanse 4 totems and don't cleanse the last one thinking someone else must have done it, no one did and I get hit with noed.
It's not about time investment, it's about knowing how many have been done or not without having to use a perk with information that SWF already gets for free.

This must be the reason why streamers are still doing their kill streak runs...
...oh wait... i haven´t seen any of those since the release of the sbmmr...
So for you, a balanced game is someone being able to get 50 wins in the row?

Can i quote you, when survivors complain about getting camped or tunneled?
On a more serious note, my escape rate as solo survivor has never been higher. Of course, my perception of the game might greatly vary from everyone elses. But, for example. When Otz played survivor. His escape rate was also drastically higher than what most people claim.
Maybe survivor just isn´t as hard anymore.
Do you have an official stat on that "solo is never been easier bc too many escape?" because I do not remember seeing one from an official source, just random people posting it "i win a lot" with no evidence at all.

Yes because that's now how he started his post. Do you not understand? I wouldn't be making that post otherwise if that's how he started the discussion. He entertained the idea of a recording software, I obliged. I don't like people changing their stances mid way because they don't want to admit installing recording software isn't that big of a deal. He acted like it was a hassle, I disagree and gave him facts then changed his story.Again keep your stories intact don't change your stories half way through conveniently for your own argument. (Not you by the way)
??? Nowhere in my post I said that the player should have to download anything, so I never changed my discussion.
It was obvious since the start that the player is not the one who has to have software to report hackers, the game itself should.

In your own words "We need a replay system, so if we aren't recording at the time the match is happening" I provided you a solution - an alternative you wanted where it's impossible for you to not be recording at any given time. Now we're in a mental gymnastics you webbed up because you thought recording software are a hassle to set up and now you changed your stance conveniently. 🤪 Couldn't you have said this from the beginning?
Recording software is a hassle. A hassle that the players shouldn't have to deal with, and a replay system would fix that.

Why are you acting as if that's an issue or anything? Am I missing something here? It's not open 24/7. You literally just have to press a button when to start recording anytime. You can go about your daily life on your chosen platform to play DBD with and not even noticed that you have a recording software installed. You don't have to open any application every time you turn on your PC/Console, it's just there. Press a button it starts recording.
You can either download said recording tool with just a few clicks - virtually instant or you can wait forever for a potential replay system that's very unlikely. Pick your sour candy.
See. that's the problem. I, the player, have to download a software, so I can report hackers. I shouldn't be done one doing that. I shouldn't even need to think about that at all.
The developers are the ones who need to provide it, in the game itself, so people can simply replay it and record it from there.

@Tsulan said:
SBMMR isn´t the problem. It actually just shows what veterans have been saying for years: the game is as survivor sided as it gets.
So getting rid of SBMMR wouldn´t solve the problem, it would just mask the issue, like it did for years.
Veteran here, with over 5k hours, and the game isn't survivor sided, it's SWF sided.

The camping and tunneling increased for a bunch of reasons. Mostly because of survivors bullying killers and idk something called bboons. Yes survivors bully killers. I hear so many survivors talking about it and their bully builds etc. Survivors want to create imaginary rules and impose them on killers but dont give back any kinds of "respect". Survivors have earned what's been happening. Point blank
Lol no, even in games where everyone is playing solo and no one is "bullying" (whatever that means these days) the killer, there is a lot of tunneling and camping.
Everything is "bullying" for some of you these days. Looping? Toxic. Dead Hard? Toxic. Boons? Toxic. Flashlights? Toxic. SWF? Toxic.

I mean do you really want to trust BHVR on implementing a replay system? You know the same company that can't add one thing in the game without breaking multiple things at once? Tools to record are accessible with just a few clicks away, It's not a big of an issue as some people are making it out to be.
I'm not protecting the developers though they do need to fix this issue but you know just saying recording soft wares are easy to get and can start recording with a push of a button, same for consoles. Not sure about Switch though.
Yes, they're easy to get, but I dont want to have one open 24/7 just in case I find a hacker.
I've worked on an indie game that had a replay system. The team was made of 6 people. I'm sure if a team of 6 people can implement a replay system so can a multi millionaire company.

Not really, queue times as a high MMR survivor are insanely long as there are no killer playing anymore. Players are bored so BHVR tweaked the matchmaking to match players with diffrent skill level together, resulting in facing average killers and being matched with bad survivors (for the MMR numbers of both sides to match) = my team mates are not of the same skill as me + killer is bad aswell.
You can explain the MM changes by the lack of good killers.
Exemple :
You are a 2000 MMR survivor soloQ.
MM cannot find a 2000 MMR killer. MM has then found a 1300 MMR killer, then it is looking for survivors to give and average of 1300 MMR to the survivor team. You end up with survivors that have those skill numbers : 700, 900, 1600.
Trial is totally unbalanced and it explains why this discussion exists.
How do you know who is "high MMR" and who isnt? You dont.
I'd like to think I'm not exactly low MMR, since I'm at 5k+ hours and I'm devotion 23, and my survivor q times have always been instant during the day, and killer instant at night. That has not changed at all.
I'm not getting bad killers, in fact I'm mostly going against nurses and blights with 1k+ hours. This in crossplay off on pc, where everyone is way more sweaty.

The community has asked for killers nerfs/survivors buffs for years, devs have listened to them, high skilled killers have massively left.
All killers i face are barely average now, escaping like 80% of my trials.
Survivors queue times have increased a lot at high MMR, BHVR is trying to find some solutions to it but cannot find something good.
That's what DbD became, a massive joke with devs unable to fix it.
Sad when i see some other independent small companies putting a ton of awesome work on their games : GTFO (game became awesome with rundown 6), Propnight (10 patches with many improvement on many aspects in 2 weeks), A Long Dark (well awesome game now), Don't Starve Together (many changes and rework every 2 or 3 months), Hell let loose (same but with performances issues unfortunately)...
How do those devs are able to do it and not BHVR that has 10 times more means ? It's time for this community to become more demanding.
Someone: My team mates are not of the same skill as me
You: Killer good survivor bad.
-
Depends. Did I die after doing most of the work while the others escaped? Lost.
Did I die while everyone did their own part and tried to be altruistic? Win.
-
Me. Just the other day I had a Dwight with 10 hours.
-
@PlayTwink said:
I'm gonna say it: MMR should be based on the level of devotion, matching you with the players with the similiar devotion to you. Not higher, not lower.
Me who is devotion 23: waits in queue for hours.

Make it light up all remaining dulls into hexes
1 is the speedboost increase
And every other one is to give exposed to any survivor that didn't cleanse a totem that round.
Only the survivor that is affected by the hex can cleanse it. Simular to how plaything is blocked for everyone but the affected player for a while. The speedboost one can't be cleansed untill it's the last remaining totem.
Still punishes people who don't do bones. But cleansing a single one ensures you don't get screwed over.
If you did your part you won't get punished
I really like this idea the most. I hate cleansing 4 totems in solo q and thinking "someone must have cleansed the other one" and surprise, they did not so doing 4 totems was useless.

Small game is handy for that. I have used it multiple times.
I'd rather play swf than use a perk slot just so solo isnt miserable. I already have 2 perk slots for that (kindred and bond).
-
My survivor q times are still the same for me, so not a problem.
Also you were going for adept plague, which isn't easy so you only got a 1k. How does that make the game not fun for killers?
-
@Hannacia said:
It's fine. Doesnt need a change. Survivors have proven with boons they have plenty of time to look for the bones.
The problem isn't "time", it's not knowing if totems have been cleansed or not when you're playing solo.

You don't. Whenever someone says they're high MMR, they're just making it up. They have no idea what their MMR is or whatbthe MMR of their opponents are.
Oh I'm aware of that. It's just everyone on these forums complains so much about everything, and how the game is so hard, yet they all stay at high MMR, supposedly.

Imagine doing a Fortnite dance at the exit gates. Cursed image.
They could add that for both sides. Of course most killers I don't see dancing, but some kind of emote that would suit them could be pretty fun.
You'd have to pay for those of course... But you'd get an emote, BHVR would get money. Everyone wins.
-
Depends.
How would be a cooldown for that? Huntress wastes time breaking a pallet because of the animation, but with a hatchet it would be faster. Would she need to point directly at the pallet to break it?
Trickster I think it would look pretty silly, a small little knife breaking a pallet.
With Pyramid Head, would be break the pallet at the same time he hits the survivor? That would be a bit too much. But if he could only break the pallet with the m2, his power would also become quite useless there.
-
Billy, Legion, Ghostface, Twins.
-
How do you know you're high MMR?
-
Which perks did you use? Which server? Console or PC? Crossplay Off or On?

Basically same. There's a lot of characters I dont care to play, but I still need to get them to p3 50 all perks.

Because if people dont get 4k every game it means the killer is garbage ofc. It has nothing to do with them being bad at the game, the killer is obviously the problem.

You know that Survivor Meta perks only exist because they are counters to uncounterable tactics Killers use. Think about that for a sec, the only way to counter certain Killer tactics requires Survivors to equip a perk.
- Facecamping - Borrowed Time
- Tunneling-off-Hook - Decisive Strike
- Slugging - Unbreakable
If the developers actually gave survivors non-perk tools to counter those tactics, then survivors would start using different perks.
I'm sorry but survivors using perks = bad
Killers using cheap tactics? Good.

It still lowers the net chance of going to A Bad Map for you, though. Instead of three options the game could randomly pull, there's only two, in this example.
A better offering would be one that could prevent all indoor maps or outdoor maps, depending on what you want.
This could also be good for stealth killers who could remove outdoor maps with an offering.
-
So a game mode where one side always loses?
-
Besides when I play him, Freddy. He pretty much disappeared since his last nerf. I see one once a month if I'm lucky.
