I don't think your quite understanding my example at all and yet you somehow still didn't answer the question :/
In my example it could be any killer I'm not talking specifically about trues stupid clip he just played that bad
Let me make it clear for you if I have a 4 man and I'm playing against you or 95% of the killer population and we want to ######### around and troll you we can as much as we want and you can't force us to do gens and you won't kill us we can effectively hold the game hostage for as long as we want or until we run out of resources whichever comes first
Does that make it more clear for you?
Ok, show me a video of you holding a game hostage while using flashbangs and headons against a top tier nurse/blight with 4 good perks.

Head on doesn't run out, flash bangs don't run out, if I bring a team with windows and any means necessary pallets don't run out none of that is a counter to the fact that 95% of killers can't beat my team
And we aren't even tournament level players
If asked you three times now and you've dodged it all 3 times
HOW IS THAT FAIR?
Sorry for the caps I figured It would help you see the question better
You can go to lockers all you want, like someone said, you will go down if you need to mend, which tru3 could have applied easily with frenzy.
for any means necessary to work, the killer cant break pallets, and if the killer isn't breaking most pallets, it seems like you really aren't going against a good killer to begin with, since there's a lot of safe pallets that need to be broken.
Edit: Flashbangs are also not infinite, since gens are not infinite.

I feel like I saw an increase with the new MMR, not related to any perk in specific.

1) It's a forum, and you're sure as hell not going to tell me where to go. If you were able to do that, there would be nowhere to go because you're posting on almost every single thread. I give you a pass 90% of the time because you're more exasperating than anything recently, I'm sure you can handle me referencing you once, put on your big boy pants
2) Get over it, just like everyone has to look at your snarky nonsense and get over it :)
You showed up just to try to flame me and you're adding nothing to the conversation at all, like always.
Is this about pinhead or is this about your 2 incher not being able to see me having a discussion with other users without having to show up and try to insult me?

Lol, this is team Oracle. They actually played a lot of tournaments and they are really good. So yeah, I am going to call a team that actually played tournaments "tournament level" :D
Totally off topic but who does these "tournaments"?

Sure, when you like to ignore context, I can do it too, right? Have you ever heard about team Oracle?
So 1 hook total here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f4GXiJPYmk
Another 1 hook game:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou8eqghyNik
0 hooks:
0 hooks:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3J-WImbQIs
You use Big data, which was always terrible to prove anything -> Nurse sucks so much, right? So, I can use tournament level team records to prove that this game is survivor sided.
Big data is super boosted, it just mean absolutely nothing without MMR and number of hooks.
Everyone with some hours know that this game is simple:
Low MMR: Killer sided.
Medium MMR: kinda balanced, depends on killer.
High MMR: survivor sided, except top 3 killers.
Tournament level: survivor sided no matter what.
Well if you call people using stretched res "tournament level" whatever that means.

No because again technically you can actually still win that and even if you don't you just hide in a locker till the other guy dies then you get hatch
What I'm telling you is that against 95% of killers going against a team as good as mine although you technically could kill any one of us you are never going to ever
Doesn't matter if you got tinker, one shots, undying, ruin, none of that matters
Vs a very well coordinated swf you aren't winning unless your a top 5% killer player
Is that fair?
You can also win against flashlights. Their batteries end, then what?
-
Sure as long as it gives me more BP than escaping.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2708254#Comment_2708254
Flashlights are weak as hell, just look at a wall. Killers are already adapting to CoH, tunneling and camping every game. The problem with CoH is that it killed any amount of pressure the Killer can gain by injuring multiple Survivors
You say it like killers didnt tunnel and camp before CoH.
-
@ThatOneDemoPlayer said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2708244#Comment_2708244
It's 100% about adapting. Only thing Pinhead had going for him was the Chain Hunt. Survivors didn't want to adapt and work on the box which is why he got nerfed
You mean like killers dont want to adapt to flashlights and CoH?
-

He wasn't op, yet got nerfed into obscurity because SoloQ players didn't want to adapt. Nice
It's not about adapting, but sure thing.

@LoneSlinger said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2708205#Comment_2708205
But the difference is one of these games is still winable it's like I told you before
If I wanna dick around with my mates and head stun and flash bang and flashy save a killer to death then they aren't gonna kill us I'm sorry but your not we are 2 coordinated and we all have many many hours in this game
How is that fair? That you have to be the best of the best killer player
To even stand a chance vs a average swf dicking around
So what you're saying is that if 2 of my team mates dc at 5 gens, and the game is unwinnable to me, it's the same as holding the game hostage?
-
Hag is still an amazing killer. A good hag is easily just as good as a good huntress, and I'd say huntress and hag are A tier, right below S tier where Blight and Nurse are.
-
@RainehDaze said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2708167#Comment_2708167
That's the question, isn't it? If a Killer wants to mess with weaker players, the game WILL end. Either they'll bleed out or refusing to down them will get the gens done and they can leave--maybe an extremely strange build with Surge would keep it from ever happening?
We should really have something that works in the other direction. No pseudo-hostage situations where someone is that outclassed but the game won't end because people are being jerks. It can already be forced if the gens are done.
Maybe start a timer to count how long since anyone worked on a gen? If the team is alive.
It's still not pseudo hostage. That's like saying impossible skill check Doctor having a 3 gen and survivors not being able to do gens because the killer just stays in the middle and doesn't let them get to one is the game being held hostage. It's not.
-
My queue times are quite fast it wouldnt benefit me but I'd like to see something like they had in deathgarden, where you could actually do more things while waiting in the lobby, just walk around and whatever else.

So Pinhead was "a wee bit op"? Sure
Pinhead wasn't op, he was just really frustrating to face in solo q. A lot of the things on the killer side that get nerfed is because of solo q, and the ones that get nerfed on the survivor side is because of swf.
I still think buffing solo and then buffing killers would be the best thing they could do.
-
I wish he kept playing killer and didn't come to "chill" playing survivor since I've had him as a team mate and he was.... not great

It's against the rules to hold any game hostage, whether it be killer or survivor.
What they were doing, as annoying as it is, isn't holding the game hostage. The killer could still move and hit them and hook them. Do these easily? No, but it wasn't impossible.
But what some people are trying to say is that with the constant flashlight saves they were keeping the killer hostage, which is ridiculous.

So you're going to make up a point to try and discredit mine? OK I guess
Not discredit. I'm just saying that something that sometimes can happen, doesn't mean it's alright.
Sure you can win solo q matches, but some people also can win perkless legion matches. Does that mean legion is ok? No.
-
@RainehDaze said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2708061#Comment_2708061
I have no idea why such a simple question is so hard to answer. Sometimes matchmaking screws up. Sometimes people don't bring a perk. Sometimes, the need to bring the perk isn't obvious because it's a last second swap. Whatever the case is, games do sometimes get in a position where the Killer isn't going to get any kills. And on its own, that's fine, losing is part of the game.
But there's the question: is it fine if the Survivors then choose to not do a gen and drag the game out until they get bored of their superior position?
I wish I had survivors in my games who didnt do gens.
And I'm gonna be honest, I don't even know which "simple question" that is because at this point I'm just bored and not reading the novels people right that at the end of the day the TLTR is just "survivor op"

I don't think conspicuously not answering at every point someone asks "Okay, and is the game being dragged on for ten minutes because Survivors will not do the last objective bad?" is a sign of conversations going in circles.
I've thought that was quite a simple question, really.
Some people dont really want to have a fair discussion they just want to claim they are under powered in a video game in a place that just milks that idea dry.
Use lightborn.

Not really. Lightborn is terrible...
It would be decent perk, if it wouldn't be that easy to tell killer is using it.
But you just have 1 survivor that tried to use flashlight and everyone knows (if SWF). Since that moment it's useless perk.
Frenklyn's is actually way better for it and it works against other items too.
Lightborn isnt terrible, it would completely counter the situation in the video.

@VicThor said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707862#Comment_2707862
Nah maybe I just got problem with the way you express yourself. I'm wondering how you perform with less efficient killers, don't you think all killers should be able to have a chance at the beginning of the match?
You said the killer should have brought Lightborn, but if you play killer you exactly know you cannot prepare for every situation.
A killer has 4 perk slots, it's impossible to have a perk for every situation:
-survivors play immersive bring tracking perk
-survivors rush generator bring slowdown perk
-survivors body blocking bring perks what help you with survivor carrying
-survivors flashlight saving bring Lightborn/franklins
This is impossible to carry out. Just like survivors are not forced to bring specific perks to counter killers. You don't need Spinechill to beat GF, you don't need Calm spirit to beat Doctor. etc.
If you have a problem with how I express myself, that's not my issue.
I never said killers shouldnt have a chance. If you read my post history, you'd see what I think is that weaker killers need to be buffed to a point every single one is as efficient as top tier killers so solo q can also be buffed to swf standards.
-
I do this in farming matches, I'll also let the killer open the gate so they get that BP as well.
On a non farming match, I dont think that would work. The killer might think you're trying to mock them and just hook you, instead of thinking you're giving them the hatch.
-

@Dino7281 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707860#Comment_2707860
You just do it while traveling across a map for gens / saves , at that point it doesn't waste much time.
It's way easier as SWF of course, but not impossible as soloQ.
There are maps like Racoon city, or Midwitch where system is same, but it's way harder to find them because of multiple floors, but it's not really hard for normal maps. You just need to use totem hunting perks (I love Detective's hunch), or map for few hundred games to learn spawns...
You say it isn't impossible. And I agree. Nothing in this game is impossible. So why mention anything at all?
-
Jeff is even easy to locate while healthy since he sounds like he's about to have an heart attack while running.

Sure, it wouldn't be a problem if killer would have more perk slots....
You should play killer then you would understand the pain. But apparently you don't do it...
I play both sides. Killer doesn't need more perk slots. Me disagreeing with you =/= me not playing killer. Is having a different opinion such a deep concept that you cannot grasp it?
-
@Dino7281 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707796#Comment_2707796
Not really. It's easy to find all totems on most maps. Indoor maps are pain for it tho.
You have lot of guaranteed spawns and there is pattern how totems spawn -> pentagram, or square with middle spawn. Just play smart and don't cleanse, remember dull totems instead, so you can easily find noed, if needed and you don't waste time cleansing each game.
Yes it's easy to find them all, but do I have time to find them all while doing saves and gens at the same time?

You can set your profile on private.
other than that, for reporting on Steam it’s currently necessary to get the SteamID so it’s not possible to avoid complete access to the Steam Profil.
My comments are on friends only.
The game should be able to track the Steam ID when you send a report via the game.

And that's why I'm saying you are strawmanning. You are inferring a meaning that nobody is using. Can you show me any proof that leads you to believe that anyone in this thread is saying that they must win 100% of the time, or that every game is survivors abusing lockers/flashlights?
Or...are they saying that there are mechanics and balance issues in the game that probably need to be fixed?
This isn't cherry picking. This is pointing out specific problems and using a video as a framing device.
And yes - when someone puts up a list of issues and you say 'I disagree', the onus is on you to say 'except for' - which you did for stretched res, but not the locker thing.
But okay then - do you agree that the locker thing needs to be fixed or not? Let's establish that here.
EDIT: And the silence is deafening.
Sometimes it's more intelligent to not reply back when all you do is going in circles, so yes, enjoy your silence.

Survivor for me is instant during the day and killer isnt, this with crossplay off which is supposed to slow queue times.

Sigh.
Again, that's not what anyone is saying.
They are saying that this match is an example of these problems. The locker/flashlight thing - you are defending it by implication. You disagreed with the OP (and attempted to smear him by strawmanning) but nowhere did you say that you excepted this borderline exploit.
It isn't what anyone is saying? Yea, maybe not with the exact words I just used, but that's exactly what they are saying.
I disagree with the OP on the fact that "the game is survivor sided", yes I know you also think it's survivor sided, and I honestly don't care.
Should I show some examples how the game is "killer sided" by showing really extreme situations? No, because that's cherry picking.
So if someone doesn't say "this is bad" they are defending it? Odd take.
-
That's really odd indeed. Afaik first dc is still only 5 minutes.
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706783#Comment_2706783
Yes, it's a strawman. Nobody in the history of these forums has actually said 'unless I win 100% of the time, this game is unbalanced'. The OP certainly didn't.
You made that up to reframe what the OP was saying in a disingenuous manner - that's the definition of strawmanning.
He never said that this was how all matches play out either.
He was saying that this video is a good summary of why killers say that the game is survivor sided - because it contained most of the biggies, particularly how if you have the coordination, you can basically take a game hostage using a locker/flashlight combo to 100% guarantee a save.
I've had a SWF team 99% the final gen and use this (and other tricks) to stall the game out for over half an hour, with the express goal of either forcing me to AFK (so they can report me for non participation) or DC.
I'm not sure why you are defending this.
EDIT: And no, Otz's 50 win streaks are more an example that under the old matchmaking, a sufficiently skilled killer can win a lot of games back to back. That's more a commentary on how bad matchmaking could be under ranks.
What am I defending exactly? Nowhere in any of my posts I defend anything.
If this isn't how all matches play out, why is it being used as a "killer matches are so bad just look at this one single example" ?
-
@StarLost said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706271#Comment_2706271
Don't strawman.
Nobody ever said that. They are saying that one particular video perfectly encapsulates some of the things that makes it soul crushing to play killer sometimes.
The issue is:
- Flashlight macros are annoying and can give photosensitive players serious issues, or at least completely prevent killers from hearing other audio cues.
- Some of those flashlight saves and DH's were...iffy. Could just be pixel perfect play, could be stretched res, could even be hacking. It's impossible to tell sometimes.
- SWFs can be amazingly frustrating to play against and should not have the same MMR as if those players had queued up as solos.
- Legion needs a serious rework.
It's not a strawman.
1 video isn't how all matches go out, or should we also use Otz 50 win streaks to use as evidence of the game being "unbalanced"?
Some matches suck, for both sides, all you have to do is deal with it and move on to one that is better.
-
Sounds like hacks to me.
-
The grind.

@danielmaster87 said:
We wanted MMR, but basing it off of just kills and escapes is stupid.
Agreed.
A facecamping Bubba can get a 2k or even a 3/4k. Is that out of skill? No. While another killer can 2 hook everyone and be seen as "less skillful".
Same for survivor. Someone can do chases, saves and gens but dies, not skillful. Someone does nothing all game but gets to the gate and escape, skillful.
