  • View and submit fan casting suggestions for Dead by Daylight! myCast lets YOU choose your dream cast to play each role in upcoming movies and TV shows.

Above is a site you may be interested in🙂

  • I definitely agree with Spirit having her phase sound on when a survivor is within her terror radius as she phases. When she comes in from a distance, it's a directional noise which gives the survivor an auditory chance against her. That simple change would go a long way to fixing her. Not saying that's all, but then she will be more balanced.

  • I've had this happen to me today. Got Merciless Killer, and somehow de-pipped twice!

With the flashlight click you can use it as a distraction to get a killer away from a injured teammate I've done this plenty of times

Exactly! Alongside repeated vaulting or tea-bagging during a chase, it's distracting the killer to help other survivors escape. Remember that scene in "Aliens" where Ripley shouts "Get away from her, you #########!" to distract the Queen Xenomorph from Newt? It's the same principle.

Just like a killer uses psychological torture, or makes their prey have mistakes, in order to get their way. Freddy Krueger was quite apt at psychologically torturing the kids into making rash decisions, like the lady who died via injection nails - Freddy effectively toyed with her.

It's about separating tactics within the game to being respectful afterwards. Imagine if Rafael Nadal wins Wimbledon, but then just pulls his shorts down and farts in the opponent's face, or Kasparov teabagging after winning a game of chess. It's just moronic.

  • There may be a difference between playing "nice" and playing fair.

Fair play is doing your job - be it survivor or killer - and doing everything you can within the boundaries of the game to secure an escape, or optimal sacrifices. It doesn't matter how it's done, just so long as you're respectable at the end and move on.

Playing nice is deliberately going out of your way and thinking about what the other side wants, which then results in wide openings for the opponent to take advantage of (e.g.: Not running NOED because you worry about what they think, even though you'd like to try it).

Sure, there are times you can go out of your way. For example: seeing someone is very inexperienced and wanting to give them some slack, or feeling someone deserves a sacrifice/escape. These are when you can choose to play nice

Ultimately, you play the game fairly, within the boundaries. But it's not the perks or tactics or what you think they want which is playing nice. It's the actual choices you make in the moment which counts, and even then not being nice does not make you a dick.

  • I'd agree with this, mostly. Technically, anything from teabagging, light-clicking, face-camping etc.. all serves a purpose for mind games or tactics. Sometimes, it's a distraction to protect others, or a way to rile up the opposition into making errors.

However, some in-game actions - such as waiting to teabag a killer at the open exit gate, knowing you're escaping, or working with a killer to take down other survivors - are also toxic in the form of unsportsman-like behaviour.

It's important to separate those deliberate acts away from actions during the trial though. If there is still a trial to be had, and no cheating is occuring, anything within the boundaries of the game is just playing the game.

  • Am I the only one to think that the Entity is merely a pawn for an even more powerful alien thing? Or even just a tool?

  • Just a quick note to say thank you to a player called ttamxx: It sounds trivial, but whilst in the lobby they pm'd me just to wish me good luck.

I know it sounds like nothing, but to have that sportsmanship at the start is actually very welcome!

All us survivors made it out and we said "well done" to each other, and the killer also joined in. Genuinely wholesome!

  • I am equally petrified and turned on by this absolute abomination. Actually wouldn't look out of place on "The Evil Within", which funnily enough was said to have been a tribute to both Resident Evil and Silent Hill, with heavy influences from both!

  • It would be an arm-wrestling match of epic proportions! Whoever wins doesn't matter, because at the end of the day - sport wins!

Frame drops cause me to get spun and it’s a lot easier when I’m in frenzy. I just got the twins and the first game i played I literally could bot pounce as victor. On the third I went against a swf. The pouncing thing happened to my brother too but that was just a one time thing so far at least. Survivors will run into me and mess with the autoaim.

I've had that happen to me too, and in one round 2 players that I assume to be PC because of them moonwalking and fast head nodding seemed to understand the frame drop - whenever I attacked them they'd run into me or do something that I can't explain and the frame drop happened each time.

It may be paranoia, granted. Yet if those players do discover how to utilise it then there's a big problem.

I did manage to get one of the two in the end, but it was a rather unenjoyable headache.

  • Am I the only one who thinks that The Wraith should just blow his bloody nose already?

  • Reminds me of an episode of The Magnus Archives, but that's probably the Entity if it couldn't be bothered with killers.

  • That is a great list of ideas! I'll add a few:

    Chapter: Alan Wake

Killer: Mr. Scratch (The Herald of Darkness)

    Survivor: Alan Wake

    Chapter: Bioshock

    Killer: Adam (The Parasite)

    Survivor: Susan Ashworth

It is literally impossible to use Dead Hard in your #3... any time you're running and not exhausted, Sprint Burst will activate instead. I think Sprint Burst is probably the better one as a selfish perk. If you're near another player - being unhooked, healing pile, on a gen - Sprint Burst basically guarantees the killer goes after the other person and not you.

Your other builds are good, though Bite the Bullet's not exceptionally useful unless you bring a medkit or self-care; I think it and Inner Strength are a bit redundant together.

Yeah, I admit I misunderstood the perks for a moment there, sorry. I was actually going to write down an explanation as to why I said what I said after noting it was incorrect, only to find out that explanation was also equally as silly!

So, I have no defence :D

Most of your builds seem decent, other than #3.

Dead Hard does not work with Sprint Burst.

True, it's a meme-related build. Normally, you wouldn't put the 2 together, but under the idea of The Opportunist, you'd mix any ability at your disposal to get out of dodge.

  • It's normally an ego thing, but it may be worth asking yourself why it matters and what does it prove to you.

There's little to be gained from confronting them on that. Focus on what you can learn from the trial and aim to improve your game.

  • There's a few builds you could try:

#1. The Last One Standing: Left Behind, Wake Up, Adrenaline, Spine Chill

#2. The Leech: Sole Survivor, Self Preservation, Desperate Measures, Empathy

#3. The Dodger: Dead Hard, Quick and Quiet, Sprint Burst, Urban Evasion

#4. The Buckaroo: Flip Flop, Boil Over, Decisive Strike, Power Struggle

#5. The Preservationist: Inner Strength, Unbreakable, Bite the Bullet, Iron Will

  • It hopefully will be getting a rework, and certainly there are some strong pointers that suggest this is a difficult map for killers.

But in my matches it's felt more balanced. As a killer, I've had more matches ending with 3k+ on that map than 2k-. I'll basically set a perimeter and make sure I can pigeon-hole survivors into gens which are close together. That way, unless an opportunity for a key arises, it starts to become more killer-sided.

  • No. It would be an extremely dull game if there is nothing in the way of variety between killers. It would just be "Battle of the Skins".

  • @UnluckyDucky said:

UPDATE: so now im getting matches where survivors are literallty just evading all game? like they arent doing ANY generators and are purposelyt extending out the game and hiding. i cant find them because i dont hafve any killer perks like literalLY none im level 1 trickster and this just feels so mean

That is quite arsey of them. All I can say in those cases are to get the free perks of "Whispers", "Bloodhound", "Shadowborn" and "Spies From The Shadows", and put them on Wraith. That's the absolute basic search build that will help find them.

Other than that report them. Hopefully, those dossers won't be appearing in the majority of your games.

  • Survivors:

LOVE - Jeff's and Cheryl's. Those guys are nearly always decent players who are skilled, yet don't act disrespectfully.

HATE - Adam's. Almost every Adam I have faced have been knobheads. Just doing general knobby stuff. What makes it really bad though is when you come across one who doesn't have the skill, because it's makes me even more confused.

    Killers:

LOVE - Oni, Demogorgon and Trapper. Oni and Demogorgon players I've faced are legitimately unnerving, yet have never come across in my games as poor sports or bullies. And I just have a soft spot for Trapper. Pyramid Head is up there, but not quite love.

HATE - Ghost Face and Bubba. Ghost Face just annoys me; running around like some Scooby Doo reject and pretending to be all tough whilst he hides under that stupid banket. Bubba I hate for a different reason: they're skilled players in my matches but absolutely devastating against unorganised survivors. So really, it's more those situations which irk me rather than Bubba.

  • I've seen those survivors who just stand there whilst the crows fly around their heads and that very irritating 'bang' alert starts thundering at you.

However, whenever one of those people are there, I now just down them, take the sack of crap down to the basement and dump the offending survivor on the ground there. I know other survivors will go down to heal them up, and I won't make any attempt to take advantage because I want them recovered so they don't bleed out. I'll leave them until the end or they dc.

Either way, those players are basically given the 'naughty step'. They're not likely to change their ways, but if they want to waste other people's time in a trial, I will happily waste theirs and prolong the trial if needbe.

  • Love Alien

    Love Ellen Ripley

    Heck, I love Amanda Ripley!

There's little to not love with this chapter.

  • Slippery Meat has been as useful as real-life slippery meat. 6 friggin' attempts to get to the second stage of a bloody hook, whilst that arse over on another hook jumps off first try, and didn't need any escape perk! Why not have Slippery Meat reduce the time the killer has to take you to the hook or something.

Also, Deja Vu is much more useful than it's given credit for. It practically guarantees no 3-gen issues and with proper planning causes killers no end of grief.

  • If compared to TV shows, it's the equivalent of realty tv: Dumb as Hell, but gets views.

  • Although I voted Alien, I'd just like to add it's brilliant to finally see Terminator arise as an option!

  • If you want to stream, then feel free! It's basically gaming as normal, but with people watching you play. Best of luck!

  • I have a head-cannon that they are real, but from alternative dimensions and timelines. For example, Lisa works as a nurse in Silent Hill, but in a dimension where there is no cult and it's just a regular town.

Honestly, no idea, but that vagueness makes the game more enjoyable. It's not as fun if everything is spelt out.

  • An Alan Wake chapter with the Taken.

    Alien with Face Huggers.

    Dead Space and Necromorphs.

    The Crossed in "Crossed"

There's quite a few options; mqybe even with existing chapters! Pyramid Head with either Nurses or Mannequins, for example. 4 members of Legion as someone on here mentioned earlier.

  • tenor.gif

There's little sacred in this game.

  • Plague is half rotted, but there's still the other half...

  • Salt-wise, I actually had a survivor rant at me for leaving them on the hook, even though the killer was no where near them for the stage he went through before dying with nobody helping him.

I apologised, saying I was too busy chasing another survivor, but couldn't account for the Claudette.

Basically, I was the killer and he mistook me for survivor (somehow!)

Another was claiming I was a n00b for tunnelling (I didn't), and because I reply in character and was Wraith, I gave some poetic garble about reading the words he typed, but I could hear the cowering soul behind, to which he responded: " I still hate you, but man that was beautiful!". Made me chuckle.

  • Try not to let it knock you too hard. It's something we've all had to deal with, and yes it can be very frustrating and disheartening, but not every trial will go that way and you will probably have more balanced games than not.

A recent trial had 4 experienced survivors vs a rank 18 Trapper, and I think they downed me after 4 gens were done during the chase, but fair play they went off and pursued another. We all got out, but I messaged them (as at least one other survivor did) saying they did well considering the match-making and shared a couple of tips, etc..

It is hard to know the rank of who you play against until the end, but it's important that if someone reading this is experienced and find out they faced someone new that no matter how the match went to PM and give positive encouragement.

It'll get better as you learn more. :)

  • I love the killer idea, and especiqlly as a way to disguise survivors to the point even an SWF may find it difficult to know who is who.

Confusing signals is probably my favourite perk as I love perks that bring in uncertainty, which is one of the few things guaranteed to scare people.

Stasis is my favourite survivor perk. The fact it doesn't heavily slow down the killer is decent, but I do worry that a team with flashlights would be able tp heavily abuse it so the killer would never be able to pick survivors up without being blinded every time. Maybe if it was a bit like Leon's flashbang instead of using the token system then it could be better balanced? I do like the idea of taking on killers with new statuses though.

Last Resort is also decent, but is there a possibility survivors could again just gang up and chain-stun the killer? But likewise, the punishment for a missed hit also feels harsh for survivor. Maybe have no punishment for a missed hit, but regardless of the result the survivor becomes the obsession and their aura is shown for a brief period?

This is a great idea, and especially stoked with the killer power! Anything that makes survivors more on edge and brings that element of fear back is a big plis in my book!

    Perks:

Tightly-packed - just play with friends and run Borrowed Time

    The Squeeze - great idea

Boon: An Anchor to Hold - interesting idea, combined with the new Boon Totem mechanic ,which the devs want to do

    Map:

    Indoor Map :/

Yeah, I admit I didn't want an indoor map, but it's The Buried and it needed to be more cramped. It would probably end up like Midwich - great aesthetically but rubbish for gameplay. Unless maybe it's more ruins.

And thanks for the feedback for the perks! Tightly-packed is more for solo-q players when caught by a rather vengeful killer who prefers to camp up close, but as a team it probably wouldn't be on a list. I was pleased with The Squeeze, especially with some people not liking bloodlust, so this negates bloodlust for a bit. And An Anchor To Hold is tricky because I don't know how boon works, but I'm guessing it's going to be powerful so a guaranteed anti-slug perk would probably be a good one.

  • No idea, unfortunately! I play under a different name to my DBD board name, so perhaps I have against someone but really not a clue.

  • He is the guy who introduced me to this game, and he's always entertaining, positive and doesn't pretend he's something he is not.

There needs to be A LOT more people like him in this community, who actually makes the game feel fun and enjoyable.

So glad he's back! It's actually felt a little empty without him.

BTW, has he retained his Fog Whisperer status? I remembered that when he was away BHVR did offer to keep him as a Fog Whisperer, despite him not being around for personal reasons, but am not sure what happened. If he didn't keep it, I hope they aim to give him it back when he feels it's the right time.

  • Toxicity always comes from those who participate in it, not the arena itself.

Individuals have a choice as to how to behave and can choose how they play the game. Nobody has to play toxic, and the game could be Animal Farm yet those people will still find a way to be dicks.

It's the responsibility of players to own their actions and stop blaming others for their own inadequacies.

  • They haven't shown up in any pf my games for a good couple of months now. Heck, even Trickster makes the odd appearance!

  • Neither, because choosing a side doesn't make them entitled; being an entitled brat makes them entitled. A role does not define the likelihood of the individual, but the individual chooses roles based upon what they individually want out of the game.

  • No, not toxic. However, if a killer decides to do that from the beginning - and the survivors are spread out - then that is quite dickish.

Basically, if all 4 are slugged early on but were foolish enough to group closely together, then the killer can't be blamed for taking that opportunity. Also, if it's close to the end, the killer slugging may well be its best course of action.

To add, going for the slug option also has risks, such as becoming too tunnel-visioned to ignore everything else (not to mention if they're being dodged for days by an especially skillful survivor.

  • If the tiers are accurate to OP, then there's really no disagreement if it relates solely to OP.

My question is: what is it about those top killers which works better for you? What playstyle do you have which suits the killers you've rated top tier? Because it's often the approach of the player that determines which killers works best.

It's all subjective, but always interesting to see what killers players prefer using.

  • Best advice ever given! 👍

  • Act like you think the killers would. I downloaded some slides on Pinterest of different dialects and phrases, as well as came across an enneagram site which linked every survivor and killer to a personality type, so I play as I picture they would, which is a lot of fun - especially in chat where I get to act as them.

  • I understand where you're coming from, but I admit I'm quite excited for it!

One thing I was not feeling was the infection on survivors. Although I like how it buffs Nemesis over time, it was a shame that survivors weren't affected much worse than a bit of coughing. It would have been fun for survivors to ultimately die and come back as AI zombies, so I feel they missed a trick there.

The perks are decent overall. I especially like Bite The Bullet, Resurgence and Blast Mine. Nemesis has weaker perks compared to the survivors, but the information gained from Lethal Pursuer is a great way of starting the game. The other 2 perks are decent enough and add a bit more chaos to proceedings.

And I do love that zombie couple!

  • Arthur and Mildred. Ot's like a mother and father supporting their son Nemesis in his trials.🙂

  • There's always something to learn from a trial, no matter how bad things get, so there's no giving up from me.

Besides, if someone gives up then they have lost their hope and will be flung into the Void. Never give up, as there is always hope.
