Wraiths are way too busy camping the first hook all game to do something like this. Wish this killer would be removed.
-
High mobility, high lethality killers like Hillbilly and Blight because they generally feel no need to camp (this does not apply to Nurse, because her players are not like that, they do play in the most unfun ways possible) and killers such as Huntress that telegraph that they are coming from a mile away so you can be stealthy instead of always getting into chases.
-
I think she just needs shorter TV teleport cooldowns, longer, more dangerous tape insertions and reworked addons. Maybe some passive condemnation if you work on a generator right next to a TV, to incentivize shutting it off further. Have more ways to condemn survivors with addons, instead of Ring Drawing being the only one. Survivors just need to interact with her power more, there's nothing wrong with her lack of anti-loop or not being the stealthiest stealth killer. Oh, and maybe make the addons that buff her when she comes out of a TV basekit so it's more useful in a chase.
Anyone who wants Sadako to be massively reworked into a chasing killer is missing the point, she should just have a more dangerous macro mechanic.
-
It's good for killers that zip around the map and get fast hooks. For killers that need to lock down a section of the map you're better off running gen-kick perks.

That doesn’t make them being designed to camp.
Wraith becoming even more stealthy while standing completely still suggests otherwise.

Name some killers other than Twins. Hag maybe? But good Hags don’t need to camp at all.
Literally any killer with low mobility. Any stealth killer.
-
At least a third of the killer roster was explicitly designed around camping.

linked cosmetics are good in concept because some skins just don't work in individual pieces, but a lot are linked for seemingly no reason other than money. afaik we still have no solid statement from bhvr as to whether licenseholders are the ones determining whether certain outfits are linked or not. none of cheryl's non-legendary sets clip in individual pieces, same deal with jill's full priced set with a default piece (which is an outright scam as far as i'm concerned) and leon's re4 outfit. even then there are original sets that don't clip as well.
Even if it was linked "for money" there's no reason you wouldn't be able to mix-and-match after buying the entire set.

The grind was only reduced in the sense that if you already have all your characters at high prestige (or high levels before the update) then all future characters will start with massive amounts of high level perks. If you only played a few killers, the grind was increased. If you only played one or two survivors (the majority of the playerbase) the grind was increased. If you didn't already have these characters leveled up, then the grind for a new player to unlock teachable perks on their main character has increased. That's not even getting into the increased grind for addons with the bloodweb resetting, or that BBQ and WGLF are gone.
It doesn't just feel worse - it IS worse for anyone who didn't already have every killer at a very high level. Going forward, the only benefit will be that you can do your grinding in-between chapter releases instead of saving up a measly 1 million BP and then needing to dump 50 million or so into the new character.
-
You need to keep in mind that a solid third of the killer roster is not fun to play against, win or lose. It's no surprise people disconnect or die on first hook.

Survivors need to learn to just do gens when the killers camping. I recently put kindred back in my built and the times I got camped I watch the whole team get off gens knowing I was been camped and knowing no was doing gens and swarm the hook for no reason.
If you don't feed a camping killer you get no BP. With BHVR making the grind even worse, that's a no go.
-
Them giving up isn't even unjustified. Most killers are getting a down in the first 30-40 seconds and then camping and tunneling. Survivors need unhooks for BP, so they rush the hook. Killer exploits this and turns it into a 3vs1 very quickly, or use instadowns to constantly swap hooks. No gens get done. This is a normal solo queue match, and even with a team like this you still get competent Nurses in at least half your games.
-
This has been my experience. I rarely feel like I'm actually playing a videogame. The killer snowballs in the first minute and people give up quickly. Doesn't help that over 80% of killers are playing Starstruck Nurse now.

I wish they had a practice mode that let you instantly regen health so you can practice looping with a friend. Self caring/COH between every chase gets boring.
It only took them six years to implement a very basic perk build loadout system, so maybe in another six we can get that.
-
It's not really possible to organically become good at looping in a game that doesn't even let you deploy solo into a map to check out the loops for yourself.
-
It's taking BHVR forever to make their proposed mori elimination, they're not going to revolutionize the gameplay by letting killers roll back completed generators or anything that drastic.
-
The game is set up so that survivor skill level controls the game. If the survivors are good at looping (they know the tiles, map layout and strategies from a lot of probably private practice sessions, the game still has no training mode) and are SWF using voice communication and properly conveying information on the killer's movements and delegating responsibilities to one another, then only a top tier killer played by a top tier player is going to have any chance of winning if they don't camp or tunnel. The surviors simply save so much time and guarantee so much wasted time for the killer regardless of how well he plays that it's simply mathematically impossible for him to win if he does not quickly eliminate a player or camp and get free chases and hits on the rescuer so that he can guarantee there will be always be pressure applied. Some killers will only start camping or tunneling once they realise this is needed, some will camp and tunnel from the start even if they're obviously up against weaker solo queue players that don't "need" to be camped or tunneled. But at the end of the day, the game is fundamentally built around it and many killer kits, such as Hag and Pyramid Head are built around these behaviours.

Sadako has pretty high skill ceiling.
Around nurse or so, maybe above.
What you want isnt a high skill ceiling killer but a high power killer.
Please elaborate. What tricks are these?
-
Camping and tunneling is fundamentally built into the game and is the only way for the majority of the roster to win. And now they can do it with impunity, so they will.
-
Solo queue has been unplayable for over a year now, to the point that I consider anyone who plays it for anything other than challenges to not be a human being because I do not believe any human being would subject themselves to that experience. I continue to play because killer is fun when the game isn't plagued by things like Dead Hard and Circle of Healing (which I can now cancel out with Shattered Hope).
-
It was the original Decisive Strike, which was quickly nerfed into an almost as powerful form that was still the strongest perk and reigned until March 2019.

The Box provides massive passive slowdown that is virtually useless against SWF but it is incredibly punishing to Solo Q Survivors who lack info on who is going for the Box.
Whoever is closest, of course. Why would you run across the entire map? It's not much different from three people swarming a hook. Two of those people knew what they were doing was wrong.
-
I don't understand the issues with Pinhead. You pick up the box and solve it when he's not close enough to interrupt you. What is the problem?
-
Tunneling is fundamentally part of the game and is the objective of the killer. Even the matchmaking system incentivizes it. The game then provides survivors with ways to mitigate tunneling, mostly through perks which is not ideal
Camping isn't fundamentally part of the game, but it is the only way to win if the survivors are competent and you're not playing something like Nurse. As long as that is the case, killers will camp, and survivors will feed the strategy because they want bloodpoints and interaction.
-
The Thing. It would probably have to focus more on a hidden infection mechanic than an impersonation mechanic in order to work and not be the worst killer in the game, however.
-
Any game where you can permanently eliminate another player from the match to lower the amount of opponents you face is inherently built around tunneling. DbD killers are supposed to tunnel and survivors are supposed to make it harder for them by doing smart unhooks and taking hits or distracting the killer, or running anti-tunneling perks.
-
Solo queue survivor has been dead for a year or two. Nothing really changed in this update except for Dead Hard being changed. BHVR had a choice between Solo queue and SWF and they picked SWF, and they made that choice a long time ago.
-
Stealth is completely dead since Iron Will is gone. Gen regression is largely gone for me because I refuse to kick gens. Camping is more effective than ever because the grind was actually made worse for most people in this update and survivors need those unhook points. No need to even leave the hook.
-
The only Shock I want is System Shock. Give me Mommy SHODAN, you can keep your Big Daddy. And like AnneBonny said above, if we're getting an underwater map I'd rather SOMA. Frictional Games is surely worthy of inclusion.
-
It's not overpowered because of the numbers. It's overpowered because the killer can't respond to it like they can the other boons.
-
Nearly every single killer is dedicating every or nearly every perk slot to perks that regress or outright disable generators. That should tell you all you need to know.
-
They'd wonder why the atmosphere was less scary, but also just be glad that the party system actually works and Decisive Strike isn't something you just use the first time the killer picks you up.
-
Boons should only be useful when the killer is nearby and can potentially snuff out the boon totem. I'd rework the perk entirely, maybe to something that doubles the length of pallet stuns.
-
All Sadako needs is massive buffs to her Condemn mechanic and making TVs more effective for ambushes mid-chase. All of her other problems stem from Circle of Healing arguably Dead Hard which have destroyed the game for M1 killers.
-
The Thing and it's not even close. Alien, Predator and Chucky would all be pretty neat too, and I'd be fine with Pennywise or Terminator. Even if Jason was possible I think he'd make for a boring killer.
-
It should be a complete rework, even with a name change probably. Fundamentally a poor concept.

I agree, but that would create an interesting POV dilemma.
Adding Kayako would require some creative design, imo. One of the things compelling about Sadoko are the elements from the source material that offer opportunities for unique interactions (TVs, wells (which I had hoped to see incorporated somehow, like in a mori), etc.).
Kayako/Ju-on is undeniably creepy af, but she would come in lacking some of those iconic elements that could easily be co-opted into gameplay features.
Toshio could be part of the power. Haunt survivors with them then swap to Kayako.
-
Not really interested in playing killer anymore. The survivor perk that stops scratch marks after a stun is neat but hardly worth the price.

With some improvement on the animation on both of her stare and survivor's convulsion. It can be great. But I agree that its look is underwhelming right now.
I don't think they were talking about animations.
-
She desperately needs buffs to her Condemn mechanic. The stealth and map coverage is decent but with the whole curse element being as lackluster as it is, it just isn't enough.
-
Stop making threads with titles that don't make the thread's purpose clear.

Oh, and the heck with prestiging. The cost:reward at this point makes it a complete non-starter for me. I've prestiged a few characters, but not in a good long while. I think we're well on the way to that becoming a dead mechanic.
I would love to see some real rewards for prestiging, like a really cool, unique set of cosmetics and some iri shards, not just the default skin with some blood thrown on.
Losing all of your progress and grinding it all back again to get a shiny cosmetic (and to get the game to stop begging you to do this) is inherently bad game design. Should have been thrown out years ago.
-
The queues will continue until killer morale improves.

I had never heard of The Ring at all before it was announced.
Supposedly, most of DBD's players are around 17, so they would've been born well after the movie came out.
It was all over the place twenty years ago. Everybody knew about it even if they hadn't seen it.
-
@Pulsar said:
I'll look at it.
I don't really think there's gonna be much hype for Sadako. Ringu is cool and I like new licenses, but considering it's not a super well-known franchise AND it was announced months ago, I don't expect there to be much hype.
My prediction is that the Survivor and Sadako will both be extremely OP because that's the only way I see them selling well.
also is it bad that i don't want a new map? the last two were midwich (yuck) and RPD (literally the worst)
The American remake is quite well known, though not particularly relevant twenty years later. I imagine most of the people who still care about it have since experienced the original Japanese works and probably prefer those. And in Asia and many other places the character was one of the most hyped potential licensed killers. I'd actually say Sadako is overall much more recognizable than Pinhead.
-
I vaguely remember it trying to be a horror game in its first year. Emphasis on trying, as the game's balance decided otherwise.
-
Exhaustion perks should never have existed in the first place, but Dead Hard is completely broken and rewards poor play.

Personally I don't hate him or the Fnaf community I've never interacted with any outside of these arguements but I rather him not take a spot for something that would be really awesome.
They have Outlast,Bioshock,Fatal Frame,Siren,Clock Tower,Soma,Bloodborne etc. to choose from
I'm not a super fan of none of these titles also but anyone of these trumps Fnaf. It would be a bummer for an anniversary or license spot to go to Fnaf than one of these titles.
Clock Tower is definitely the videogame license I'd go for. Not even a big fan of the series but Scissorman would be a great addition.

Of all the possible videogame licenses I'd probably go for Clock Tower. I'm not even a huge fan, played the first two games only and thought they were just alright, but Scissorman is great.
