This is awesome... but I still want it to become an option on settings already.
-
Slippery (So, if you ever talk about the perk, it's ######## Meat now)
-
Wait, did I click in a thread from late 2018 or early 2019 by accident? It feels like a deja vu.
-
Stealth killers are awfully weak in general. They have nothing that really helps against loops and can't sneak up to survivors in too open areas, which most maps have.
-
I just had two matches in a row as Oni where I lagged for a second and than got bugged for the whole match. On the first I got completely stuck at a pallet. On the second one, unable to use my power, deliver hits or pick survivors up. Even though it started with lagging, that wasn't happening until yesterday, even if I lagged.
-
It depends on the map. Many of the recent or reworked maps have tons of pallets, most of them safe, turning the game into straight line chase - pallet is droped - pallet is broken - run to another pallet - repeat. The Game is the greatest example of that.

I mean killers have soo many gen slowing perks... but you have fun being the toxic problem
A game strategy used to win cannot be considered toxic, by any means.
-
"Oh wow, the most survivor-sided map in the game is not so survivor-sided now, what a tragedy!"
Don't worry, you still have Fractured Cowshed, Gideon Meat Plant, Groaning Storehouse, Eyrie of Crows, Springwood and many other survivor-sided maps that killers had to deal with for years! There are only about 4 ACTUALLY killer-sided maps in the game right now, but I garantee dealing with them is far less stressful than being a killer on Cowshed. Also less frequent, since there are far more survivor-sided maps in the game.
-
We don't tunnel only because of CoH, we tunnel because the most effective way of pursuing a victory is killing a survivor as fast as possible. Sometimes it's the only way. CoH is just an extra factor on deciding who to tunnel.

There is no similarity between this and what J.K. Rowling did to Dumbledore.
Rowling was criticized because she made a full saga without any hint of homossexuality in any character whatsoever and then, after the books where all finished, she just randomly said one of the most important characters "is gay" when responding to a fan, while that wasn't even planned to go into any book, it was just a random comment from the author from a book that never hinted that... and she acted as if it was planned all along.
DBD has many characters with no confirmed sexual orientation, and sometimes the lore stablishes relationships they had that weren't known before. Right now is releasing a new Tome about David, that will probably tell something about his sexuality and develop him as a gay character. Rowling didn't do that until Warner started a new cinematic trilogy years later. They are not the same at all.

No way has been found to disable it again yet, as far as I know, and BHVR has yet to show any acknowledgement of the issue, predictably.
Well... that is really, really bad. There is a good chance I will have to avoid playing, specially playing killer, until they fix that.

What platform are you on? What specifications if you are on PC? Any specific occurances that causes the drops?
Mandy, can you tell us why there is still no option to disable V-Sync and Anti-Aliasing in the game settings? Are there any plans to ever implement that?
-
Wait, did this update undo previous changes to the .ini files that disabled Anti-Aliasing?
Because if it did, I'm one of the many who will have to withstand a low fps and a ugly blurred screen when my game finishes updating... is there a way of disabling it again?

Can't wait for the following challenge: "Track survivors in the dying state for 60 seconds with the killer instinct from Viktor's shrieks. Do this in a single trial."
The Twins aren't Twins without some good old slugging.

I still remember how the previous Developer Update said the devs wanted to be "as transparent as possible" when it came to SBMM. Well, if the devs truely value transparency, they should reveal player MMR. How can you say you want to be transparent if you don't even allow the players to see how their MMR compares to the others? When you go against very skilled players, how can you know if your MMR is that high or if the matchmaking just messed it up? And then, when you go against way too unsnkilled players on the next match, how can you know the reason? Was their MMR higher than it seems? Is yours lower than it seems? So how did you go against such good players on the previous match? Is SBMM working? How can we know if it's working if you don't allow us to SEE?!

#1. The Hag - I love her concept, cannibalistic themes, gameplay and Mori. I just which her lore had more details about her. Her archive memory was the only one that wasn't about her development as a character, and that makes me sad.
#2. The Oni - Lore, concept, visuals, gameplay, references to japanese mythology, everything about this killer is perfect. I still feel I need to get better with his flicks, but he is really fun to play regardless.
#3. The Artist - Crow theme, stunning visuals, awesome mori and chase music, really fun gameplay, and she is also the first latin american killer. The only thing that annoys me is how her lore ignores the fact that there are no crows in Chile.
-
Nurse, by far. Other killers are hard to master, but Nurse takes pratice to even play half decently and stop getting stuck on objects. That's why she has the lowest killrate even though she is the strongest killer in the game.
-
To me it's quite fun. If the opportunity presents itself, I'm happy I was able to win a game fast, even knowing it's more because of their mistake than my skill. After that, I can quickly move to another game, probably more challenging.
Also, I've noticed some complaints in this thread and I must say that once more: there is nothing wrong with tunneling or camping early. There is no rule preventing you from doing it and you don't have to take it easy, just like survivors don't have to take it easy on you. It's okay as long as there's no toxicity, and using a strategy to win is not toxic, even if it's not fun to the other side.
-
A thing I forgot to mention: she is also a very short killer, which makes her hard to spot and to track during loops. Again, not great, but something that helps.

Looks like she does slow down (slower than Demo charging a shred). I have the harder time getting a sneaky first hit as her than other stealth Killers thanks to that awesome lullaby of hers (stealth killer btw).
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/T761O9BZRYDF/image.png
She feels powerless the entire game is my main problem with her. I never felt like her power mattered at all in any of my games as her besides them not being able to body block a tunnel.
Survivors have better chase tools than most stealth killers by just having E. I put her as the 3rd best stealth killer not because she is good, but because GF and Myers are so exceptionally bad.
I think expressed myself badly. I meant she doesn't slow down while her stealth power is active, unlike the Pig. I agree that the slowdown while manifesting hurts her, but it is still better than moving slowly like the Pig does or having to crouch behind objects to avoid being broken out like Ghostface has to.
The Lullaby is not as audible as other Lullabies in the game, reason why I am still able to get many sneaky hits in this game... but yeah, I agree it's bad and should be removed. It makes no sense for a stealth killer to have a lullaby and the devs should have learned that with the awful PTB Ghostface back when he was first released. I must admit I forgot about the lullaby while writing this post, but I find her the second best stealth killer regardless. It doesn't mean she is good, it means even the strongest stealth killer is really weak right now.
Another thing that could be changed is that really loud Manifesting sound. It doesn't start at the end like Wraith's, it starts at the beginning like Pig and doesn't come with the speed boost they get.
Her power also helps you to mindgame loops... it doesn't do all that much, but still better than what Pig, Myers and Ghostface have in chase. Sadly, it's a case of a killer being better than others because the others have nothing.
-
If you are the last survivor, your team has already lost the game. Getting a escape there is not supposed to be easy, so it makes sense the killer has the advantage on that scenario.

That there would be an add-on, not a perk.
LOL, I didn't notice I had called it a "perk" in the title. Fair enough, post edited.
-
On real life you wouldn't be able to loop them forever because you would grow tired and slow down, and getting hit in the back with a rusty cleaver would hurt like hell, not something you can heal by having someone massage your back, so facing them would still be quite dangerous.
Not to mention some of them can walk faster than you can run, that would be weird, but scary.

I was worried about this one but I saw a Youtube video that just said "make friends with the survivors so they don't run from gens when you blink". That's how I did it. I know, some people do like to do it the proper way so it actually feels like you accomplished something.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2902403#Comment_2902403
I had a similar experience. Was a David and me left alive (both on death hook). The David just hid in lockers while I actually tried to do gens. I think the Wraith noticed this. He found the David in a locker near a gen I was working on - I actually didn't know he was in there. The Wraith hooked him and let me finish the gen and open the gate.
Seems like a theme. I get achievements through cheesing them!
I'm thinking of farming with the survivors to see if I get this, but I will only do it if it becomes the last remaining achievement before I manage to get it. The reason? I really dislike farming. When I login, I want to play.
-
How did you get "From the Void She Kills"?
-
By the way, remember when Hex: Undying aura reading was nerfed only because it was "redundant" with Thrill's notification? Well, there is no reason left not to buff the aura reading back, then.
-
The sound notification should never have been removed. It was the most unnecessary perk nerf I've ever seen. It would have been healthy for the game to have a counter for boons, but the devs decided to remove it to push boons into the game instead.
The nerf should be reverted.
-
MoM is fine as it is. Very situational and somewhat difficult to activate, but may come in clutch sometimes. A perk that completely ignores a downing hit deserves to have a downside.

Real talk though. I don't think DH would be such a problem if maps weren't as bad they are. Map and tile layout have been ruining the game since day 1.
It would be less problematic, but still, it would take years for the maps to be fixed (if they are ever fixed, that is. I don't really have hopes for it), and some of the most problematic maps have already been reworked while the devs show no plans of making further changes to them (Gideon's and Cowshed are the best examples of that).

Just bait it out
Half the time their so focused on when you're going to swing their not paying attention to what's in front of them they run in to walls, trees and things. Don't swing like a crazy person and you'll be all right.
That only happens against bad survivors.
Any good survivor will just wait a few seconds and then Dead Hard right into a safe pallet, which is impossible to counter in any way.

This is also True, which is why im happy they are redoing some of the maps but like
Maps such as Coldwind hell haven't changed design wise just looks it needs a new lay out
Coldwind actually received layout changes. It made them even worse for killers. Cowshed is the most survivor-sided map in the game right now.
-
Another fun one: Breakout, Saboteur, Empathy and METTLE OF MAN. Better with a toolbox with sabotage add-ons.
Use empathy to see the location of the survivor being chased, and predict whenever they are about to be downed. Run towards them and get close once the pick up animation starts. Keep near them with breakout, but try to stop the killer from getting hits (the haste effect helps). Once you notice which hook the killer is walking towards, go there first and sabotage it. Thanks to breakout, they won't be able to drop the survivor or to get to another hook in time. If you get hit while sabotaging, you get Mettle of Man stacks, and if you still can't sabotage in time, sometimes the breakout alone will be enough to save the survivor, even if you have to let yourself be downed and trade.
-
My favorite survivor build is the following:
Head On, Quick and Quiet, Iron Will and Deception.
When getting out of the killer's line of sight, use deception to fake entering a locker, than enter another one with Quick and Quiet on the first chance you have. If the killer still manages to find the right locker, stun them with Head On. I have lots of fun with this, and once was able to lose a Spirit multiple times on Lery's and then escape.

Delete lerys it’s a horrible map on both sides
Noooo, it's my second favorite map. It is actually great for most killers, specially the stealth ones, that are so weak on other maps.
-
The problem in this case is less on the map (even though this map's design is awful and definitively needs changes) and more on the zombies themselves. They get stuck on way too many things and are unreliable. On Red Forest they are bad, but in the swamp maps they are even worse.

I want a killer that can climb over walls and jump at survivors.
I want one that can force survivors to dance until their legs fall off.
I cant really think of any killer powers that can be implemented into the game that isn't already here. I mean it's obvious the devs are running out of ideas, their latest killer is just a mix of older killers powers. Their most unique killer was the Twins, but they didn't really think their power through and made them miserable to play so people wouldn't touch them and forget about them.
The Cenobite is quite unique too.
-
In DBD, everything related to the art is simply incredible. Sound design is one of the things that made me fall in love with this game back in 2017 (even with the HUGE balance issues it had back then). The chase music, hearing a survivor grunting in pain after you hit them, the sound the Entity makes when taking a sacrificed survivor, killer-unique sounds like Michael's breathing, it all gave a feeling of immersion.

I'm sure they understood and were nice in the end game chat.
Surprisingly, they said nothing. They probably just wanted to get to the next game for once. Anyway, I apologized in chat with a quick "Sorry. No hooks available". Because, you know, the whole situation sucked.

Ms. Haggy not in S tier? Outrageous!
Seriously, Hag, Oni and the Artist are my three favorite mori, in that order. Hag and Oni for the brutality, Artist for the brutality and creativity.
-
To be honest, that was the only clearly OP thing that I ever hoped it wouldn't be nerfed. It was ridiculously unfair, but so fun! Not only fun to get grabs with, but also funny to get jumpscared by it, or to watch streamers getting jumpscared.
Still, of course, I didn't find it bad when the add-on got nerfed, since it was so obviously broken. I was more like "It was good while it lasted, but it had to go at some point".
-
A strong contender: seeing a toxic clicky-clickyer DC after they couldn't handle you tunneling them. If you can't handle it, don't taunt the killer.
Another one: 4K'ing a streamer's SWF squad, then opening their stream to rewatch the match and discovering they had stretched res. Of course, this doesn't happen anymore because stretched res is fixed, but it was quite satisfying when it happened.
-
She also can't see over the lowest rock loops.

I would say that Hag has a higher player count than Billy on all platforms and probably espeically on consoles since she is also free like Billy and has great teachables that everyone says you should level her up for. I do agree that Hag is a bit of a weird choice though Doc would be better imo if they really don't wanna give justice for Billy.
If Hag has now a higher player count than Billy, it's quite sad for him. Hag used to be the least played killer before the Twins came out.
-
Okay, just three more things:
The three blinks Nurse is back. The additional blink add-on was changed and doesn't have that line of sight requirement anymore, it just slows down the blink recharge.
Ebony and Ivory mori's only work on survivors on death hook now.
The hatch now can't just "spawn closed" as before. It only spawns when it opens: when a single survivor is left. So keys are not a headache anymore.
-
Oh, another thing: Deathslinger has been nerfed to the ground and is now a Huntress with extra steps. The Spirit also got nerfs but it is still S tier (her phasing sound is now directional, and it plays even inside your terror radius, so no more standing still mindgames... unless a survivor isn't aware of the nerf). The Trapper and The Plague, however, are now better and more fun due to buffs. Their add-ons are different too.
-
Eh... nobody likes RPD, but is even worse when you play on it for the first few times. Unfortunately, the only way of dealing with the confusing corridors is to get used to them after some time, memorizing the paths and knowing the shortest ones to traverse the map.
It's also a survivor sided map due to how much you have to walk to traverse it and some really strong loops. It has two insanely strong window loops (one at the office and one at the library) and a few god pallets, one of them being on an insanely strong loop. However, it also has some really weak pallets as well. It's a good map for survivors who know how to play on it, but gameplay is usually miserable for both sides.
The other new map, Eyrie of Crows, is also very survivor sided. Specially terrible for stealth killers.
About the new killers, the strongest one is the Artist by far. But her power requires some pratice and skill to be used effectively and, even though I love playing her, most of the community doesn't seem to like her so much. Pinhead's power also requires skill and is not very rewarding in chase, but his really strong passive compensates for that, being the reason he has the highest average kill rates right now. The Nemesis is the simplest one. The Trickster is a bit weak, pretty much a weaker huntress.
About perks... both the Artist and the Onryo have some new cool options for gen defense. But be wary of the survivors' Boon: Circle of Healing, know that it can shut down hit-and-run tactics.

A lot of people thought that, yeah.
That entire incident basically cemented my hatred of FNAF. Even in the face of it obviously not being FNAF, people decided to double-down and spam.
There were even people saying that the teaser and all the clues pointing to Hellraiser (literally the word HELL and the letters R, A, I, S, E. Also a pin on a background image) were just a "Red Herring" and that the actual killer would be Springtrap. Videos with this "theories" are still on youtube if you look for it.
It was so ilogical and ridiculous it ended up being funny.

Wish granted! Five more licensed maps have been added, however they'll be killswitched due to an infinite amount of exploits.
I wish we had an Alien chapter, with a Xenomorph as the killer.
Granted, but it looks and moves exactly like the Alien from Mortal Kombat X. And instead of Ellen Ripley, we get Charlie Holloway from Prometheus as a survivor.
I wish we had Robert Englund's Freddy as a classic skin.
