  • Yes

But it won't happen because it's expensive to produce and the times it would be relevant are too rare for it to be worth it

Let me guess, you're perfectly fine with SWF VoIP too, despite it giving everyone 10+ free perks/counters, amirite?

    Stop strawmanning

  • It rewards taking a hit when someone is being carried and that's it

You have to waste two health states and heal yourself or be healed the same amount of times to absorb one health state

People who do this will lose hard because of their own idiocy and learn not to do it again

    There is no issue

Power or addon, she's still there, thats the problem. Why noone touch her? Why they touch so easily something for survivors? Thats what i wanna know

Please remember to drink enough water. You might dehydrate from crying too much and dehydration is a serious issue, especially in summer and it's already getting warmer

  • @Sythalin said:

What they say and what is reality are two completely different things.

Which is why I am calling them out on bullshit like this

We both agree here; what they did makes no sense: If the issues are not fixed, as they are not for you and others from what I can tell, the value should not have been touched. With the value back to normal players like you are getting thrown under the bus and caught up for an issue they are not responsible for. If they are fixed then the ban percentage should be amped up. In either case their move made no sense and it seems like the devs just want to pretend to accomplish something regarding disconnects when they are clearly unable or unwilling to handle the situation properly.

  • @Sythalin said:

Because the issues are not fixed. There are plenty of people, myself included, that are still experiencing ridiculous amount of involuntary DCs. Something is either wrong with the game or the garbage EAC.

For me, everything was fine up until the Plague patch. After that, it's been iDCs at MINIMUM 40% of the games played, whether it is me or others.

If the issues are not fixed the percentage should not have been changed back. According to the dev's own logic the issues are fixed however so it makes no sense to not amp up the ban percentage

  • @ClogWench said:

If you can't handle the game without one specific perk in its current state then you're crutching hard. Stop whining

    ^ This

The next time you ask yourself why the devs don't implement any and all suggestions it's because the majority of players are unable to give proper feedback. This thread is a perfect example of useless whining without any regard for balance or game health. Of course the devs are going to ignore it

  • The live version of the perk is trash and so is the proposed rework. The proposed version however fits stronger thematically and has more interesting gameplay implications.

If you are crying about a garbage perk getting changed you need to GIT GUD

  • lifering.jpg

You need this to not drown in your own tears

  • Achievements are irrelevant, as long as they are not literally impossible there is no reason to change them

a constructive suggestion on how to fix the MoM issue impossible! Jokes aside I would like it to be like the old DS where you know who has MoM for sure by Obsession like old DS. I like this but what is the "This perk won't deactive the next time you are put into the dying state"?

It means the aura reveal is permanent and doesn't stop the next time you get downed as it does now

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    just take exposed perks

MoM is just 1 more hit

and exposed perks skips injured state

or just play billy/legion/leatherface/huntress. they're good killers if you're not trash

    • Devour Hope is bad
    • Rancor is bad, except on Freddy but even then it's not good enough
    • Make Your Choice is ok but too inconsistent
    • NOED is too inconsistent, also bad
    • Mettle Of Man is a trash tier perk and doesn't need to be countered in the first place. It's a much worse Dead Hard

I'd imagine they see them and ignore them because of what I said above, but who's to say for sure since I can't 100% prove this statement.

I believe you are likely right, however to know that the report is one that should be closed they must first read it. At this point they might as well deal with it properly instead of closing it. So there is the slight chance that it actually accomplishes something.

  • @FireHazard said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/476922#Comment_476922

DCing is its own department to deal with, reports have nothing to do with people DCing in matches and reporting them because of DCing doesn't do anything because they already have logs to see it themselves.

It requires a threshold to even be banned for DCing as some people DC on mistake all the time, that's why people who do it on purpose know not to do it multiple times in a row.

The report menu option on the far right (I believe it's called Unsportsmanlike Behaviour or something like that) specifically lists ragequits as something you should use the report system for. I know that during a dev stream it was said that disconnects are dealt with automatically but as far as I am concerned ingame information trumps dev stream information due to having a higher reach. So if we go by that logic something should happen if you consistently ragequit and get reported yet the problem has only gotten worse over time.

Most likely fake. It's very convenient this only appeared after everyone heard about the possibility from the survey. I wouldn't give it much thought honestly

And that, even after multiple posts, OP still refuses to give a source

The maps are not large enough to have bodies of water. I would not mind seeing small puddles in the Red Forest or maybe an actual swamp like environment in the Backwater Swamp. Beyond that, the maps are not big enough to fit it.

    Ponds are a possibility

A map with a beach and an ocean would also work, instead of walls around the map you would have the ocean as a barrier

Rivers and streams would work too

no lol least waist hiding deep

See my post above, if it has physics then that will cause FPS issues on weaker machines and consoles, if it doesn't have physics then it will look very bad

A temporary hiding spot (pool of water) that kills you if you stay in it for too long would be cool however

  • @BiaNoYami said:

The reason why a downvote feature shouldn't exist is simply that most people in this community are unable to view things objectively / from different points of views.

If people are unable to question their own viewpoint and consider that another person's given examples on a topic might carry some truth after all (which does not always necessarily contradict all you stand for), a feature such as the aforementioned one is quite worthless.

This can also be applied to the upvotes. Although positivity about something obviously feels more empowering than negativity.

It's literally just a number that doesn't affect anything

Unless you check it on a profile it's even very hard to read due to the color and how small it is

It's extremely easy to just ignore it and not care about

However I still wish I could downvote my own posts

  • Random pools of unmoving water are not very exciting and so far there hasn't really been a reason to have one in the game

Water with physics is expensive and would probably cause massive FPS issues on console, and water with very simple physics looks cheap and bad

    Bamboozle > Tinkerer

And then drop BBQ for Ruin or Pop Goes the Weasel, but that's only if you don't care about bloodpoints

  • The report option on the far right (don't know off the top of my head what it's called) specifically lists ragequitting as a reportable reason, so use that even if disconnecting is supposed to be dealt with automatically as per some dev stream a while ago (based on the screenshots it looks like you didn't report anyone). Ingame information (report ragequits in the description of the menu) trumps dev stream ("don't report disconnects, it's handled automatically") as far as I am concerned

If you're not supposed to use reports for that purpose the description in the ingame menu should be updated

That was your message. We have shown multiple times in the past that they do indeed work and that we do see not only your report reason, but also the chat logs and more. They're not just going into the void, we've got a whole team of ACMs reviewing them. I was an ACM myself at one point and I can guarantee that they are dealt with as soon as possible.

With all that said though, please don't misuse the report system.

    Thanks Peanits

The most unfair thing about this is that if you are a red rank killer you will get depipped/black pipped because you didn't sacrifice 2 people

Losing rank is a positive because you have to wait less to get in a game and the quality of matchups isn't all that different because in the end the only thing rank matters for is how long you have to wait for in lobby

@NMCKE One can't repeat that often enough. The EGC is a very good game mechanic that only needs a little adjustement.

Like @FireHazard mentioned, to make it perfect you would have to take the killers' movement speeds into consideration for the spawning rules.

Btw, if creating a spawning algorithm for exit gates is too complicated, the devs could create like 5 fixed scenarios for each map of which one gets randomly chosen for a trial.

Personally I disagree with adjusting the gate proximity but I can see the logic there and it's not a bad thing to do, I personally just see no reason to do it

The game already has so much randomness, starting from the map selection which can already wildly favor one side that having another mechanic that does something similar doesn't matter all that much

An example of where the EGC is more survivor favored would be Azarov's Resting Place when the gates spawn on opposite of the map. Not possible to patrol both of them due to distance and lack of line of sight

  • To be fair the compensation might actually theoretically exist in the game but it's just so broken and bugged that it never actually triggers, that's another Behavior Interactive trademark

  • @Perelie said:

Because the devs encourage this behavior by rewarding them with killer nerfs and no punishment for DC'ers.

This is the only correct answer

  • If numbers upset you you should sell whatever device you are using to browse the forums because your device uses binary numbers and numbers = bad

After that you should live in a forest or an uninhabited island to avoid having to deal with currency, because that's also just numbers

Both of those examples are more meaningful than downvotes, therefore if downvotes bother you so should those

  • @ba_tetsuo said:

Survivors already have an option to end the game. DC. Its obvious nothing is going to be done about it

    The devs encourage disconnects

Remember when they tried the new matchmaking, in the same patch that changed the emblem system to make it more difficult to rank up? And then they disabled the new matchmaking, making it impossible for highrank players to play because the wait times were 30 minutes minimum

The only way to be able to play was to disconnect repeatedly after waiting for ages to get into a game to get back to a rank where it was actually possible to play

It should be trivial to tune the disconnect ban system, if it actually existed or worked, by changing the ratio of disconnected games you have to pass to be banned. This is not happening because a) the system doesn't work, b) the system is so broken it physically does not function anymore but has in the past or c) because the devs are cool with disconnects

Feel free to pick whichever option you like out of those three because they are the only ones that exist

  • @Mister_xD said:

they do not discuss bans in public.

you will not gain any information on weather the players you have reported will get banned or not.

    Reading comprehension level: 0

All I want is the report reason that I have written. As I have mentioned the report reason is unrelated to the report itself and does not have identifiable information. From a privacy/information point of view it's perfectly fine to post it publicly because it's unrelated to anything but it confirms that the report system satisfies the absolute minimum requirement of not being either completely broken or non-existent. Considering the state of the game now and in the past I remain unconvinced that the system actually works and is not completely broken

  • I am still upset that I can't downvote myself

How difficult is it to bypass the forum's bot protection? I could write a bot that creates new accounts and downvotes all of my posts

This is a legitimate idea because this way we can test if the downvotes are protected against integer overflow

Edit: You can apparently report yourself. This is very useful information to have

  • Downvotes are irrelevant

    So are upvotes

There is no reason to care about either one

To demonstrate I will now downvote everything always

    Edit: I don't like how I can't downvote myself

  • You are still intentionally ######### over your team, at this point you might as well just disconnect, it's faster

  • If the return is 100% then essentially you have to level only one killer and survivor to max, just refund before every game to switch and level up (yes this impractical because it takes forever)

If the return is less than 100% then people will use it when a new character comes out, realize that they suck with the new character and then cry on the forums because they lost bloodpoints

You also essentially increase the grind by 100% - actual refund value

It's an unnecessary system that has almost no positives

  • This is ancient and has been possible forever

  • @TAG said:

It does not add a stack to MoM, last I checked. I've had a few games where I was able to keep MoM from activating by using Ambush when I was able to to keep them from getting the full 3 tokens.

What were the add-ons? Maybe one of the add-ons causes the ambush attack to bug out and not be considered as a regular attack anymore

  • No

Disabling the killer power makes the Nurse autolose and makes it impossible to add another killer with similar movespeed to the game, because they also autolose

Adding hatch grabs back doesn't solve anything and there will still hatch standoffs

  • @CustomerService said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472091#Comment_472091

The problem is most killers are Billy and Nurse. And you can watch both gates from the distance in most cases. It’s as easy as paying attention to the red lights and you can instantly be there. Let’s also keep in mind perks like whispers which guantee if you are around a gate they can basically camp the area until found or time runs out. The opportunities for toxic plays this update brings are many.

If someone is running Whispers and still manages to kill 3 people then the survivors deserve to lose, hard

  • Signifcant changes come with the midchapter patches which are roughly 1.5 months after the release of a chapter

What exactly are you refering to when you say that balance changes should not happen within 1 month of releases?

  • @CustomerService said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/472072#Comment_472072

The amount of times you can repair only two gens is considerable. Which means you can not previously find the hatch. I play either on my own or with one more person and randoms tend to contribute negatively or not contribute at all towards the objective. The previous hatch was a nice reward for that, and the timer already prevents standoffs.

Wow, sometimes you got a small amount of additional bloodpoints

This is a perfectly reasonable argument as to why a horrible mechanic that is super unfun for half the players in the match should be brought back

  • @drunky26 said:

He's still annoying as #########, what do you expect?

If everyone disconnected as soon as they were mildly upset there would be no game

Suck it up and stop being a disconnecting baby, is what I expect from people

  • I don't know of the top of my head if Save The Best For Last works with the ambush attack but you could run that, in theory

The problem is more that there aren't good killer perks that benefit from hitting survivors

  • @CustomerService said:

It’s obvious it needs a rework. The question is what kind of rework. I’d say for the time being they need to remove the ability to close the hatch from killers, since they do tend to take ages to fix things.

As a reminder, I’m free to express my opinions just like everyone else, and me and the many like me who dislike some aspects of this update can and must continue to voice it. I particularly don’t see how insults, calling me pathetic or any sort of offensive name counters my arguments. So I’ll ignore those who don’t contribute.

The game is already bad as it is for solo survivors and randoms. We need to give them back the hatch as a reasonable alternative as it was.

    >It’s obvious it needs a rework.

    No

    > I’d say for the time being they need to remove the ability to close the hatch from killers,

    No

    >So I’ll ignore those who don’t contribute.

"People don't agree with me so I'll ignore them"

    >The game is already bad as it is for solo survivors and randoms. We need to give them back the hatch as a reasonable alternative as it was.

    No

Also the hatch was never reasonable, it was a garbage mechanic that deserved to be killed with fire

It’s not a useless power! Used in conjunction with Discordance, Feral Frenzy (and Killer Instinct) is meant to allow you to catch groups of survivors together to inflict Deep Wound on as many survivors as possible to get them wasting their own time by mending and off of gens.

Feral Frenzy isn’t meant to help you get downs, it’s meant to buy you gen regression time because survivors cannot ignore Deep Wound like they can with the standard injured state

I remain unconvinced that Discordance is a good perk on any killer, but agree with everything else

  • @FSB75 said:

I've said it time and time again.

Create a damn "casual" lobby that puts anyone of any rank together. The server simply grabs the players with the best connection and puts them together. Throw the rank system out the window...because it's not used for matchmaking (or simply hide it for all I care). Let the try hards, who care about rank, play the DC game.

Don't get me wrong, lately I've been listening to people and asking why they DC. Some people tell me it's simply because they don't want o go against Killer X, or they lost 4 or 5 in a row...they keep getting found and tunneled inside of a minute after the game starts. Turns out, there is no single reason for DCs....some people (and yes I've been told this), just love the fact that they are pissing people off (even if they aren't, they believe they are, and that's enough to motivate them to continue doing it).

Rank is NOT the only reason people DC, I get that, but by giving the people who will NOT DC a choice to play with other people who will not DC, the game, at least, has a chance to flourish with casuals who care not about ranks, killers, or games lost. As a survivor, rank up enough, and the variety of killers you go against gets smaller and smaller.

DC enough times in a specific time frame from the "casual lobbies" and lose the option to join the "casual lobby". You STILL get to play the game, but only in hard mode from now on. Shouldn't be that hard to create a new lobby type, basically copy and paste right? I mean, we already have a 2 grouping lobbies (SWF and KWF), just remove the matchmaking aspect.

    /savvy

Personally I would prefer a weekly gamemode queue instead of a casual queue, like Overwatch for example has it, where each week there are new "rules" for that queue only, but your idea is fine too

  • Rank is worthless

Therefore, just play what you want

Applying your argument you will derank if you do this

Therefore your rank will converge to some value or you will drop to rank 20

If your rank converges to something that is not 20 then you should be getting balanced games regardless of the perks that the survivors are using

The other case is where you drop to rank 20 but still get so badly destroyed that you are still upset

In the latter case you are literally among the worst players in the game, so bad that not even rank 20 is easy enough for you

In the first case there is no problem, your rank converged and you are getting balanced games. In the latter case you are among the worst players in the game and therefore your opinion regarding Mettle Of Man is more or less worthless, other than that rank 20 killers find it unfun to play against (you don't want to draw balance conclusions based on the worst players so you ignore everything else)

In short, there is no reason to care about you being upset other than "Likely rank 20 player is upset about perk that isn't even good in the first place"

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/62877/so-when-are-you-reworking-the-end-game-collapse

really cannot understand the vote down, you are perfectly right, the end game collapse is just a bullshit

The old system was garbage and unfun for the killer, there was nothing you could reasonably do when you found the hatch before the survivor

With the new system sometimes a single survivor loses out on a few points for hatch escape but the game becomes signifcantly less unfun for the killer (and the survivor can still exit through a gate)

    This is a valid tradeoff

Demanding a rework because sometimes you don't get your will is pathetic and OP deserves downvotes
