Fun fact: Trying to cleanse all 5 dull totems is literally one of the stupidest things anyone can do in DbD while still pretending to be helpful. Everyone encouraging survivors to "just do bones" is being extremely deceitul and probably doesn't even use NOED, because it's common knowledge just how much stronger wasting that much time is.

Completely agree, just unfortunate that many people don't have a similar mindset.
Both sides wanting this and that removed or nerfed, toxicity surrounding certain elements on either side. I've learned after 3k hours just relax and have fun it's whatever if certain perks are brought etc...
But tinkerer.... that is testing my patience atm I can't lie. I'm really sick and tired of it atm
I know exactly what you mean. It's so frustrating having the killer repeatedly harass you off gens, especially if they don't commit to a chase. It's like being in a 3-gen, but from the start of the trial.

Huh? Demogorgon is one of the better killers to have this on, you can literally teleport to pressure cross map gens.
Not really. That requires you to have taken the time to set up the portals, and for Ruin to have lasted that long. Two things which aren't often going to happen in the same trial.

You completely hit the nail on the head.
Literally was about to say all the same ones and reasoning lol
Yeah, I don't like painful-to-face perks or nerfing perks into the ground. I just like people having fun :)
-
I'm looking forward to it. I especially enjoy how little people actually know about Hellraiser - everyone got up in arms about Pinheads speaking lines because they didn't seem to realise that he is a sadomasochistic cult priest.
-
I didn't know floating, severed limbs, putrified flesh and... Hag were attractive.
Maybe it's just me being a horny lesbian, but I'm kind hoping we get our version of Trickster.
-
No. If you can't play without something, it's a crutch. If you can, then it's not.
-
If you're talking about the actual animation rig itself, well, they might have. I doubt we would ever know, given the sheer differences between each killer's animations.
Although there's also no other inhuman killers in the game. Blight and Hag come the closest from an animation standpoint. To be perfectly honest, there's not much use for that particular rig in a game based on Slasher horror, and despite the Devs clearly moving away from ultra-traditionalist slasher characters for their original killers it's still a bit out there to add another non-human, because look what happened when they added Trickster. A killer who is literally just a flamboyant slasher character.

Either way I thoroughly enjoy destroying totems, so when I get rid of Undying and then Ruin the feeling of the killer losing their grasp on the game is oh so satisfying.
It's nice when it works out that way. I enjoy totem hunting purely for fun, so when Hex perks are in play I have a blast, but it's often just too late into the trial that Ruin finally goes. 3-4 minutes of Ruin/Tinkerer/Wraith is devestating.
-
Sorry, but that's almost definitely a no. From what I've heard, Netflix is taking back the rights to all of its characters in order to boost their game development venture. It wouldn't make sense to hand out the lisences to other characters whom they might want to use later.
-
Only on strong, fast killers. Throw this build on Pig or Legion, or even Plague and Demogorgon, and it's not even that good.
-
They're okay. Anyone scoffing at shaving 5 seconds off a generator (at worst) never had to deal with Old Toolboxes, because that was broken as hell. Right now, they do stuff and it's always useful and often quite valuable. And given how insanely hard to balance something that shortens the survivors already quick and uninteractive objective is, the Devs actually did a pretty good job. Like making Mori's more of a flavour-that-is-still-useful-in-lots-of-occassions instead of a game-winner. Sure, toolboxes are weaker, but the mechanic itself is flawed so I think they're pretty good. Plus Built To Last exists now, and hot damn have I done some things with that perk and a commodius.

I hate to tell you, but that's literally every "tile" on a map like midwich.
At least the way I play him, I just drop the sword through the pallet as i'm going into the loops. You literally can't loop anything without getting tormented unless there's like 4 strong pallets lined up back to back (which to be fair happens alot on BS maps like coldwind). If you are saying the counter is pre-drop every pallet and never loop then sure, it's avoidable.
You do realise you're talking about PH, right? The smart play is to litterally never play tiles like what I saw in that clip. The Survivor *waited* at the tile - that is the worst thing to do agaisnt a killer who can hit you through any obstacle.
Tiles like that, you don't play. You try to trick the killer*. What you do is run past them til the PH is right on you, then you go for a little mindgame and hope they fall for it. Usually that entails faking a vault or pallet drop, but swerving aside at the last second. Or a double fake where you pretend to have faked it too early but actually you do vault/drop. Or in the case of pallets, you just run right through and take a sharp turn. Or you can run close to one wall as the killer lines up a shot and either do a little shimmy to the side, or fake it.
In none of those scenarios do you get tormented.
Edit: *trick the killer, and then leave the tile while holding some more W.

I don't think skill really factors into evading trails? When i'm playing PH like 95% of the torment comes from wrapping around a loop into a shot. It's unavoidable in that case unless you can somehow leave the loop. It's incredibly rare that someone just randomly steps into it. This clip is what it looks like.
https://clips.twitch.tv/ElegantRoughGooseOneHand-qDDtmRe0D7dW0WQJ
It's 100% avoidable, you just don't play those tiles.

Yesterday my games were all very chill. And no, to those who are cynical of survivor mains, "chill" doesn't mean "easy wins" to everybody who plays this game. To me a "chill" game is simply a game where neither side is sweaty: The matches go for a good ten to fifteen minutes with good balance, no clear winner for most of the trial, lots of saves and chases, etc. In other words, no INTENSE WIN AT ALL COSTS ACT LIKE A JERK SUPER PRESSURE. Just a game that's...you know, FUN.
This was the same way that things were for me during the SBMM. Yet today I noticed (possibly because I rose in rank just as I stopped playing last night, I don't know) that everything was a totally mixed bag again. Bubba spawning within fifty feet and downing me within twelve seconds then camping me until dead. A Spirit that rushed back and forth between everybody forcing a game of musical hooks with no one (but Spirit) reaching 10,000 BP. A meta build Nurse who slugged everyone four or five minutes into the match. Multiple superkit Wraiths. All the master Blights I've been reading about but never experienced before. Ranks that were something like 10, 10, 10, and 4.
I don't know what happened between yesterday and today but today was a reminder that yeah, I'm looking forward to the SBMM too.
When I cross the rank threshold between 6 and 5, I have the same experience as you, only as killer. Everything goes from be being that chill killer ######### having fun and losing and winning and just going against the most fun, chill, extremely good opponents... Into the unsolicited quagmire of mediocre players trying to dominate me completely and utterly with the same perks, builds, and W-focused tactics.
Doesn't happen with Survivor. Not sure why. Possibly because I haven't been above rank 7 in months (I don't actively try to rank up, which means I also don't often accidentally pip as survivor).
-
Given that it's PH's primary attack, that would basically mean that everyone is always tormented and your skill at evading his trails doesn't matter.

Yea, ive been trying to utilize his nutty hitbox but i cant ever get it to work. I remember a guide teaching about the 360 hitbox blight has at the beginning of his swing, but i havent been able to properly utilize it
It's not a full 360, you do have to sort of aim near them. If that's not working, what about waiting it out to see if they run away from your body and back I to your FoV? You don't have to Rush instantly.

It's just a testament to how TERRIBLE Billy is now compared to what he was is all.
To be fair, that's mostly due to the pov changes and psychological effects of the Overheat mechanic. And in my case, the extreme punishment for living in NZ as opposed to Australia (damn you, teleporting melee-range survivors magically outskilling my backrevs by doing basically nothing!!!)
-
You can ways double tap. That's when you rush and swing at the same time. At the start of a Lethal Rush, Blight has a huge hit cone just to punish players trying that.

Do you think blight is easy on console ?
I don't think Blight is easy anywhere.
-
NOED. All 'round terrible design. It needs a full rework to make it fair and scary - something like Devour Hope, but without the cleansing...? There's been plenty of ideas about reworking it into a solid perk, I won't rehash them, but suffice it to say this one is a big deal for me. No-one likes leaving someone behind because the killer equipped a perk and facecamped them. And I especially hate dying because some solo-que genius decided to cleanse all 5 dull totems instead of being a useful teammate.
Dead Hard - I dislike exhaustion perks, but this one takes the cake. And dashes away with it while being completely and utterly invulnerable. My solution? Remove the i-frames. The dash is fine - frustrating, but fine, because it affects all killers equally and makes it so versatile. The i-frames don't. They're what makes it a true, free second chance.
Tinkerer - too strong with mobile killers, barely useful with the rest. I would buff the Undetectable duration and shift the activation forward to 90%, or make it only go off 5 times in a trial.
-
Corrupt Intervention. It's utterly useless for me. If I patrol the unblocked gens, the survivors hide. If I patrol all the gens, well, there's 4 that aren't blocked so that's at least 3 that get worked on. If I use LP, same thing except I get a faster chase.
It's just how the game is played down here - be sweaty, don't take risks. And a huge reason I'm looking forward to SBMM, I don't get those trials then.
-
PC players have the ability to make snap microadjustments because of how M&K functions. Sometimes. Standard console controllers don't allow for that (although custom ones like the Xbox elite controller absolutely do, you just amp up the joystick sensitivity aggression).
Basically, it's harder to play them on console, to varying degrees.
-
Yes, Dead Hard allows survivors to fast vault. It's yet another way in which that perk is broken - it has its own set of rules on fast vaulting. Only I don't think it's intentional because it's certainly not consistent.
-
There's no reason to assume that the game thinks you're one of the best.
-
She's easily one of the hardest killers in the game, especially for one that's around Oni's level. Why play her when Oni and Demogorgon are right there and much easier? Or just go play Wraith. Or Spirit. Or Hag. All of whom are rather easier than her to pick up while being of similar or greater strength.
Couple that with the fact that her theme makes people uncomfortable and many veteran players are traumatized by 2019 Plague and it becomes much clearer.
Edit: Also, there's an oddly large number of Plague mains like myself on the forums.
-
It literally doesn't matter, the entire point of MMR is to put people into trials with opponents who could potentially win.
And besides, Otz wa smaking zero sense in that video. He kept going on about how MMR will make people play sweatier in order to increase it... Except that it's completely invisible, has no reward for increasing it, and no possible bragging rights because of a lack of verification. He doesn't seem to be thinking too clearly on the issue.
-
That is a very bad idea. No matter the intentions of revealing such a number, it will inevitably end up making people sweat just so the Petty Gatekeepers don't bully the crap out of them and let them have opinions, which is basically why people get competitive despite not wanting to in just about every game ever.
-
You're not supposed to point that out, it's against the rules. You have to pretend that it's perfectly fair to be sweaty and use the strongest builds and win most of your trials.
-
I feel like devotion would be a better metric, given regional wait times, menu time, and the ability to leave the game on overnight.
Although I don't out much stock in "experience" overall. Good game knowledge, empathy and logical reasoning are far more important and far less common.
-
John Constantine.
-
No matter what, some killers are never, ever going to function on certain maps. This would be a good way of making the game overall more enjoyable without taking away the chance to get screwed by RNG.
Because let's be honest, there's absolutely nothing fair about facing Ghostface on Mother's Dwelling or Blight on The Game.
-
Because most of this games community doesn't exist on forums or dbd-based social media and won't join in the attempt to speak with our wallets because they don't even know what's going on!
Edit: Also, I love his animations.
-
Then don't be nice. Which isn't the same as saying "be a cock". Just don't trust the killer. Ever. I never do. If someone wants me to farm, unless the team is already gone and it's the killer being merciful (in which case they are welcome to kill me at any time) then I'm not gonna farm til we have an unbeatable lead.
-
Sometimes I wonder if the Devs genuinely have a company policy relating to the prevention of using company resources on game optimisation.

To be fair, they haven't made one of those in a long time. Some kids genuinely won't know who the hell Sweet Tooth is.
And also most adults, because games were extremely regionalised, not just in what was allowed through borders but also just in what was popular in a given location.
-
Certain characters with certain outfits can crouch in foliage and become genuinely undetectable. It's actually kind of a serious and very old flaw that has never been addressed.
-
What exactly do you think the pip system was supposed to be?
-
I quite enjoy indoor maps as a survivor. I don't think they're good for the game and I am a staunch advocate for reworking the way they function, but I still enjoy playing on them.
Edit: Enjoy playing on them as a survivor. As a killer I would rather slam my hand in a door. Which is why I think they need their base gameplay reworked, or stealth in DbD to be overhauled. No map type should make people feel like that.
-
Me, more than ever, because I don't like 4 minute trials and that's the AU norm no matter how hard you lose.
-
Yes. Demo is a fun killer to play and you get 2 more survivor skins and 9 perks to unlock.
Also, Demo is a fun killer.
As is The Demogorgon.

Good luck and may you have as little phantom hits as possible!
-
Okay, honestly I don't have much else to say. You're a good Plague, and I can absolutely see the logic behind most of your decisions. It's just the needing to concentrate your purge better is the problem I can see, which is by no means an easy feat given how chaotic Plague became after dedicated servers.
-
If a group of survivors is doing literally nothing but slamming generators in the most efficient way possible, that is literally gen rushing and it is a serious flaw with the game because it goes hand-in-hand with predropping pallets.
Let me paint a typical genrush, assuming the survivors get bad luck and have no perks: they all spawn together. They immediately spread out. Within 10 seconds, all 4 are on different gens. The killer finds one. That survivor does nothing but hold W and predrop pallets. 3 gens pop in 90 seconds no matter what because the killer can't move fast enough, not even Spirit. If the killer keeps going after the first person, person 2 goes to the first person's gen and finishes it solo while the other two double team another gen, which takes about 60 seconds including worst-case travel time. If the killer switch s targets, they have it even easier because survivor 1 was probably injured and they go back to their first gen instead of survivor 2.
We are now 2 minutes into the trial. In 20 seconds, the double-teamed gen pops. Let's assume the killer has a down - it's going to take 10-20 seconds to hook them, even more to travel. Now the last gen pops, it took 60 seconds including travel. Survivor 4 was waiting by the gate switch, survivor 3 was going for the unhook. If the killer camped it out, they bail through the gates. If the killer chases someone else, they get the save and bail through the gates. Best case scenario, 2 hook 1k. We are 2.50 seconds into the trial.
That is genrushing. It's a term that gets overused, yes, but it is an extant problem. A reasonable, simple description of genrushing is opening the gates in less than 3 minutes.
Edit: also, you throw in perks and some toolboxes and not even MDR Spirit or double range Nurse can do better.
Edit 2: 2.50 minutes, not 2.50 seconds.
-
I have been summoned by that holiest of cow lords @GoodBoyKaru !
Okay, so I watched the first trial and I'm going to be completely, brutally honest about the loss. It boils down to 2 giant reasons: Needing mecha iCal skill practice, and Push E To Outplay. And you can't exactly do much about that one.
At the beginning, when you were chasing Adam (I think...?) you had more than enough time to fully infect him before he got to the pallet. If you had landed more Vile Purge on him, he would have gone down and been fully Infected, ready to spread infection to everyone else. That's the biggest problem I saw. That one down could have shifted the entire game, and from what I saw you absolutely know how to capitalise on that, even as Plague.
The rest, it was perfectly reasonable decision making, it's just that you were going against a co-ordinated team (you were never going to win, sorry, that's just DbD and you had no perks) and literally every time Dead Hard happened you switched to someone else with the exact same perk that screwed you the exact same way. In fact, that match was a good case for why I hate it, but right now the only thing you can do is just never switch targets. Dead Hard thrives on juggling.
The other sticking point was when you were chasing Laurie around the big snow plow thingy. You also had enough time there to fully infect her instead of going for the pallet hit, which would have been arguably more valuable.
I'll watch the others in a bit and report on what I saw!

They most likely would as the complaints from people in the higher ratings not getting any variety would be a big incentive for them.
Since they want people (not just the veteran players) to see their variety of killers in their roster. It's something they're proud of.
So they would be buffing some killers to make them able to be played in higher MMR ratings.
Granted some killers just won't be good enough due to the nature of their powers, but that's just any game.
The developers don't really listen to complaints that aren't from beginners or average players and I genuinely don't believe them when they implied they would start. They have a long history of both lying and ignoring good players. Why reverse that now?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting their killer/perk tweaks to grind to a halt, but I doubt we will get another Doctor-level overhaul.
-
Will they be? If the system is functional, weaker killers will go against weaker survivors. Seems a brilliant excuse to not buff or rework them.
-
You're not exploiting the system. There's no reason to be high MMR except bragging rights. If you're "playing badly" then, well, the system is placing you where you should be, because what's really the difference between a good player being chill and a bad player being sweaty?
-
Plague.
