Maybe don't use solo que as a barometer for how strong survivors are.
-
Hey, don't worry about it. I think it's fair to say that most of us have some... Issues. Just try to stay healthy in any way you can, okay? Even if that means venting on the forums
-
At least you haven't yet been screamed at for running Padded Jaws or Mettle of Mither.
Edit: Wait, what am I saying? Those were some of the funniest moments of my entire DbD experience!

Why would he be more hated than any other killer?
Other killers can still do everything better than Trickster (e.g Plague,Huntress,Deathslinger)
Purely psychological reasons. He can hit you anywhere and everywhere, therefore he is oppressive. However his "hits" aren't that impactful so gameplay/balance-wise it's not a huge deal.
-
Yes and no. Yes, I see people hating Trickster, no, I don't think their points (and mine, I also see myself hating him) are particularly valid.
Trickster has counterplay. Trickster has skillful counterplay. With the buffs he will be able to hit you anywhere, but you can still massively slow him down by playing well. Its just that we are conditioned to think that getting hit anywhere is bad, even though with Trickster it's... Kind of not.
-
They are detrimental to the survivors, but they're also annoying as ######### to the killer thanks to how all of your hard work can be undone.
-
Firstly, none of them are teenagers. Secondly, good luck fighting Captain America.

Too many people play this game for my liking & games that have lootboxes very rarely have bad skins
There's no such thing as too many players, and games with lootboxes are... Go read any non-corporate study. TLDR: they're extremely expensive to get skins for.

A moderate increase in pallets is kind of a big deal though tbf, the only thing that kept the previous version in check was that even though most of the pallets were very safe, there werent that many of them and once you got rid of them the whole map is basically a dead zone with very few effective vaults or windows.
However with new giddeon if you were to try and break all the pallets normally, all 5 gens would be done before you were done and there would still be some left over.
My experience is identical. Chase someone, god pallets everywhere, gens fly by because there's no good chases to take. Only difference is that there's more pallets left in the EGC.

I really hope they do this. People dodge all the time when I’m in a full Xbox survivor team because apparently 4 cross play icons means sweaty SWF
Thats because it usually means SFW, and SWF usually means unintentionally sweaty.

Map rng and guessing isn't counter-play. That is the same as saying use iron will to vs spirit or wake up vs fredophile.
The only part of Blight that involves guesswork is exploiters, and map RNG is literally everything about this game so there's no use complaining about that. No difference between Blight, Billy, Huntress, Doctor, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, Plague, etc.
I understand not enjoying a killer, but those reasons aren't... Understantable.

Both but especially exploiters.
I loathe blight from a design standpoint and would rather play vs spirit. Sorry for my poor wording of this. Riding off 3ish hours of sleep so the post is lacking in some cohesion
Regular Blight does have counterplay. Junk tiles, rock tiles, car loops, houses, pretty much everything that isn't a maze tile, shack or main building. No matter how good a killer is with Lethal Rush, those loops are forced to be played as an m1 killer except in very rare circumstances.
-
By not playing killers that get defeated by using W and predropping pallets.
-
So much of this made no sense. Are you talking about actual Blight or Exploit Blight?
-
No. All of DbD's potential competitors end up with a terrible new player experience when the survivors figure out how to beat the crap out of the Big Scary Monster. Thats why people stopped playing F13, after all.
-
So you just don't give a flying ######### about how useful it is, you just want to stab the killer. Good to know.
-
Inner Strength, Detectives Hunch, For The People, We're Gonna Live Forever.
Or, if you're feeling like taking it easy, Tenacity, We're Gonna Live Forever, No Mither, Mettle of Man.
-
What even the logic of huh?

@Volcz said:
Meh, he'll still be run infinite around shack. No 115 = goooooood luck.
You'll now be able to use his knives around shack, main buildings and maze tiles. 115 speed would mean nothing.
-
Quantity doesn't mean quality. The Devs are heading in the right direction with a lot of the updates but there's still plenty of problems to solve. On both sides.

@Zozzy said:
Changes nothing and he is still a toy.
Yeah, giving the Trickster the ability to hit survivors anywhere they are isn't a huge deal. Not at all. Won't change a thing.
-
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say that maybe being able to beat up the killer is the reason every other assymetrical has died.
-
No. That would just further encourage holding W and instadropping pallets, aka "playing smart."

I don't have a problem with spirit. She's very slow so you can easily loop her around any structure without problems like you do with every other killer. She can't disappear instantly so I don't see why you have problem on T-L with her. If you see that she's standing still for 1s you just abandon the T-L/start to walk for other place. Spirit can't fake if you break LoS with her and after that start walking. She will need to use her power in that scenario and that's how you know she's phasing, so you need to keep breaking LoS and forcing her to waste her power. That doesn't work if you're injured and don't have Iron Will tho, in that scenario you're pretty f* and you should've countered her by spending the most time without getting hit as possible.
She has an ability called "passive phasing" that causes her to randomly turn invisible for a moment every few seconds. 2 of her more fun add-ons affect it. I believe that is what the OP is talking about. I actually play her as an m1 killer quite a lot because of it's ability to completely confuse any survivor who looks behind them in a chase.
Also, against any decent spirit that little mindgame's not going to work whether or not you're healthy, your breathing is more than enough to give you away even ignoring footsteps and grass. A valiant attempt, to be sure, but totally reliant on the Spirit not having a good ear. In fact, all of her counterplay is kind of reliant on both you having Iron Will and her not having Stridor and also being a bit... inexperienced. And also on you winning coin tosses.
-
1) No, but it's not much of an issue gameplay wise
2) Same as before, not a whole lot
3) Ditto
4) Not really
5) No
6) Never, same as before.
-
Most people seem to think Alert is just terrible.
-
The old version was almost as bad. I'm surprised that a simple, moderate increase in the number of pallets finally got the community to realise that.
-
Is it underrated? I see it all the time now that people aren't able to abuse ds
-
I tunnel people all the time. And by that I mean I go back to the hook be ause I have no reason not to and an injured and recently unhooked person runs into me.
I don't care how many second chances someone has, Gonna take the chase over looking for a stealthing survivor that in all likelihood I won't even find.

well as you said its the roll of a die.. so i think its pretty fair to get black pip from that RNG. I mean how can any survivor really do anything in that case if i didnt get lucky and happen to find it well.. then its a -1 pip no matter what i do. Just a thought I know it will never change. But i agree but you gotta understand the circumstance when you're basically forced into a -1 pip in that case.
If an escape was a guaranteed anything then people would just burn hatch offerrings and go in and out of basement lockers the whole game.

What is wrong with people, Insert "Why are you mad, just a game" gif.
The best part is that the girls who were doing it let me and the other solo die next to an open exit gate. Apparently we were "playing poorly."
-
To be fair, Reddit used to be really ######### bad. I stopped visiting altogether because of the sheer amount of witch-hunts that people would do.
Edit: the survivor version is all the people talking about camping, tunneling, slugging, nerf Doctor, nerf Pig, etc. It's just as unreasonable as the "remove SWF" nonsense.
-
Hello, I see you're incredibly mad

I’m having an issue where even when they get stunned I still get hit. Like I put the pallet down before they fully swung. I should not get hit.
I had that happen once to me as killer. It was weird. I swung, the hit should have connected but didn't, the survivor dropped a pallet on me after the fact, and then suddenly they took damage and I went through a weapon wipe animation after going halfway through a missed lunge animation?
-
Yeah, it's really dumb. Not super game breaking as it would seem given that a lunge cooldown is about the same as a pallet stun, but it's just what?????
There's bloody challenges and perks and stuff directly tied to stuns!

Was it a Doctor with Distressing and/or both Calm Addons?
AKA stealth-by-reverse
-
I'd drop Pharmacy for Ace In The Hole and add Built To Last.
-
Honestly I think that's a good thing. Especially since you're talking about hatch, which is essentially a roll of the die.
The pip system is heavily flawed. But getting a guaranteed black pip for yeeting through the hatch is not a good idea.
-
People are sweaty because other people are sweaty.
-
The difference is when the developers call it an exploit because it avoids a limitation they deliberately included.
Edit: This goes for everything. If it's avoiding a deliberate limitation that the developers don't want avoided, it's an exploit.

Why though? If someone is tapping a gen during a chase they're sacrificing distance to avoid regression. It's a calculated risk, not free.
You should only be kicking a gen if there's a fair amount of progress on it and you are reasonably confident that there are no nearby survivors who will be able to stop the regression. If survivors across the map (for example 20-30 seconds away, as you said) are forced to come to that gen because of the kick, that still could have wasted quite a bit of survivor time, so it might still be a fair decision even against a good team on comms.
I see no reason to buff kicking gens in any way. For one, I haven't seen any data to suggest high-skill killers need a boost. For two, this would increase the gap between SWF and solo because information on which gens are regressing becomes much more important when killers are systematically kicking more.
Survivors shouldn't be unable to undo regression in half a second. Regression is not strong enough to enable that. If a killer kicks a generator, the survivors should actually have to take the time to stop it instead of being able to immediately and with no downside stop the miniscule, slug-paced regression that killers get with zero effort or thought.
And it really wouldn't change anything about SWF or solo. It would simply be a QoL fix that prevents survivors from casually and mindlessly stopping the only basekit slowdown in the game.

Getting repeatedly messaged to kill myself IRL. For no real reason.

Once, because I couldn't tell who had been unhooked. And it didn't even matter.

Of they can't even buff his power in a good way. The only comparison to be made is between Huntress who arguably has the same issue yet she's 50 0r maybe 100 times better than Trickster in every way. It takes 7 knives just to remove 1 health state while it takes a single hatchet to remove a single health state.
Actually, it seems pretty clear that a good Trickster is supposed to be like a good Doctor or Pyramid Head: you can't win. However they artificially broke his aim and made him slow himself down immensely, which is the only reason he is comparable to Huntress.

Thats like saying one survive is nothing so just stand still and die.
It is nothing. Except the survivor gets 5k bloodpoints and a facecamping killer gets... I think it's less than 2k?
If someone wants to facecamp for a petty kill, whatever. I'd rather go interact with the other side.
-
Isn't F13 the game where people would gang up on Jason and beat the shite out of him?
-
The difference between a 110 and 115 killer is the ability to play tiles as a basic m1 killer. That's why people are calling for him to be made a 115 killer: so he can do something about maze tiles, shack, main buildings, rock loops, tall car loops...
I would rather they buff his power, but the absolute very least they could do is enable Trickster to play tiles normally.
-
I think it's boring and pointless unless there's people there going for the save. 1 kill means nothing.
-
It's funny how killers need to either be oppressive or lethal, and yet they designed a killer that's neither if you go anywhere near a basic structure.
-
Huntress is a content machine, and also transferable skills (a lot of people play FPS games).
