How could you come out 6m behind them? Survivors on hit boost gives them about 12m of distance plus whatever amount you take to catch up to them
If the stun was dropped to two seconds, that's 8m of distance (any basic legion can tell you you don't end Frenzy before you catch back up). You can move forward in the stun, and you gain distance if you swing out of your power. So, about 6m of distance. As opposed to the 14m you currently get.

But would it? You can’t down in frenzy without Frank’s mixtape and survivors get a speed boost from feral frenzy hits
No, instead you'd come out of frenzy 6m behind an injured, vulnerable survivor as a 115 killer. After stabbing a couple of other people in the process.
-
Old legions short stun wasn't an issue because old legion couldn't loop normally, had a slower frenzy, and generally had to get tunnel vision. Giving current Legion a short stun would enable a similar sense of complete oppression, though for different reasons.
-
Because that really is too dark for a popular game. Like, way too dark. Those kinds of awful, terrible people exist far more commonly in real life and inflict their atrocities on far more people than most want to even think about. How are you supposed to gain an audience when so many people have terrible memories that such themes would dredge up? How many people not personally affected would avoid the game anyways either as a boycott or, more likely, sheer discomfort?
-
Mostly because it's led by poor teammates and massive facecamping.
-
Could use a few changes, mostly nerfs but definitely some buffs, but overall he's the most balanced killer.
-
No Jeff/Zarina, big sad
-
It would be creepy as hell if he avoided people based on race. And by creepy I mean racist.

The short stun wasn’t the issue with old legion lol
Old Legion was a 110 killer.

Playing without tunneling, camping or slugging is what we also call 12-hooking. And its not feasable unless the team you are going against is significantly worse than yourself.
Not that I'm complaining about the normalisation of BT. I've been asking for it for a while now.

Any examples? Not perks btw since you can’t tell it’s a spirit before the match
... run Iron Will and No Mither and get really, really lucky with the 50/50's.
Edit: I know you said no perks but I run No Mither anyway

There are two ways to make her phasing weaker: give spirit less information where the survivor is or give the survivor more information where spirit is.
I think the second option would make the gameplay more interesting.
I agree. They would also need to nerf her speed a bit, as the breathing bug showed that a good Spirit can bulldoze right through the supposed disadvantage of the survivors having more info than she does.
-
Stealth is kind of annoying in DbD because... Well, you're getting outplayed by someone putting in almost no effort and you as the killer have no right answer to the situation. Same as the good old ultra safe/slam gens meta. But it doesn't really become problematic until people are holding the game hostage by not even trying to complete their objectives, same as when a killer takes defending a 3-gen to the extreme.
Personally, when I'm in that situation where you can't reasonably do the gens, I usually just save my teammate, heal them, point them to the hatch if I know where it is, then shake my booty for the killer and try and loop them for a bit.

Nah, a normal trial is:
One person being chased.
One Claudette nearby who THINKS she's being chased.
One person looking for Ruin.
One person working a gen.
Oh, I'm well aware I have vastly different trials to most. But it doesn't change the fact that my norm is buckets of sweat thanks to my region and the time I play at.

Only if 3 different people are all doing different gens at once.
Yeah, that's a normal trial.

Lucky Break starts ticking down the moment they get injured, and doesn't stop until it either runs out or the Survivor heals up.
90 seconds is not a long time. The majority of that time will likely be wasted in the Killer's LOS (they did just hit the Survivor after all), in which case Lucky Break isn't of any use because the Killer can actually see the Survivor.
It's only going to be useful on the Treatment Theatre and Hawkin's Laboratory maps, due to the ease of breaking line of sight. Even then, that's not a bad thing. Making more perks useful expands the selection of viable perks to choose from, and helps keep the game fresh.
90 seconds is 3 gens. Just gonna point that out.
-
About the time of Oni's release they decided to change how chase music interacts with ambient sound, specifically survivors footsteps. They wanted to give survivors the opportunity to escape chases and didn't think about how ridiculous strong that is. Even a moment's confusion on the killers part means the difference between a chase ending or continue for another 3 predropped pallets.
-
Freddy is not going anywhere. He is still super strong and super easy. Oh no, you slow yourself down to 4m/s when it doesn't matter that you're 4m/s
-
Small Game is getting an effect that should be basekit because the Devs genuinely despise solo's (that's the only logical reason I can think of).
Lucky Break is insane and unfair. Iron Will is already too strong because it removes all sound, now blood and scratchmarks are going away as well. That's so dumb. Any killer whose thinking "yay, less meta perks!" isn't thinking about how strong this is and how its honestly a contender with Unbreakable, Iron Will and Dead Hard. Who needs second chance perks when the killer doesn't get a first chance?
Freddy add-ons changes are welcome, basekit change won't do much but it's better than nothing.
Huntress is better than nothing but I'm not a huge fan.
OoO is welcome.
Farm maps are welcome.
Key changes are a small step in the right direction.
Demo changes are a small step in the right direction. I like the new pumpkin though.
The rest I care so little about I don't even remember if it exists.

I forgot about Corrupt lol. might give it a try. Haunted grounds could be fun, could be paired well with Undying to get 2 uses. Do you think Brutal is good on him? I found that survivors tend to drop pallets early.
No, Doctor is so strong he can play most pallets after they've been dropped, even Shack. You just have to be very, very good with him.
-
Honestly, if you're trying to win then just stack 4 slowdown perks. He has everything else going for him, it's just that he takes ages to do anything. Sloppy, Pop, Corrupt, Surge. Solid meta build for him.
If you're trying to have fun, I like Whispers (I think it's quite underrated on him if you aren't using calm add-ons), Haunted Grounds, a perk to make them cleanse haunted grounds (ruin is nice), and BBQ because bloodpoints are life.

true, but in a game with a ranking system that currently lets practically anyone hit rank 1, do we even know who the decent players are? xD
The survivors that hold W and predrop pallets while their teammates do gens, and the killers that counter that by playing very strong killers with lots of slowdown.
That's just my opinion.
-
I agree, but they could at least balance it around decent players.
-
How?

Did you forget that you can hear Survivors and see them?
And lmao, indoors maps. It's even easier to hear Survivors on those maps because of how you can be above or below them and hear them clearly.
Actually, you can't hear survivors. The chase music change removed that ability.
-
Lucky Break is quickly going to become one of the more hated perks. You're gonna see a lot of people bringing it, iron will, and some indoor map/Haddonfield offerrings.

<laughs> I'm usually more worried about Killers and you Survivors. :) *Well... not really... we aren't diametrically opposed that often. I guess we will see in the PTB shortly, but I'm not sure it will make that big a difference since:
- You have to get injured first, which means the Killer already has eyes on you.
- Then you have to give the Killer the slip with terrain and/or a successful mind game.
- Then you have to hope he doesn't find you by accident and/or have another way to track.
I agree that certain Players, evaders rather than loopers, will LOVE the change and go all in. I'm just not convinced it will be all that and a bag of chips. In the end, you still have to be good enough to make it work for you.
I don't know if you've ever gone against deception gamers in a map with plenty of LoS blockers and pathing options, but suffice it to say that Lucky Break will will be even worse.
Tracking is too difficult already to have a perk interfere with it so heavily. Otherwise you get into situations where the killer has to give up because someone equipped a perk. Which is a game winner against my average team, because those 30 wasted seconds means the last gen is done.
-
No, I don't think this is an okay change. Completely removing a killers ability to track you? You basically become undownable for the first two minutes of a trial.
And imagine in an indoor map. What the #########. Who thinks that's an okay idea? Who looks at the killers ability to track survivors and goes "well, that's too strong!"

I'm personally opposite of this, and feel it would be better if the distance gained from Dead Hard only applied if the game detected an incoming hit was dodged. That way it couldn't be used purely for distance, but would actually require the Survivor to make a read and dodge a hit.
But then it would still completely screw half the killers.

That's just DBD'S design. Chases are only a minor part of the game. Knowing which gens to prioritize and splitting up on them at least takes some kind of knowledge and team based skill, especially if you are on solo queue.
Chases are the the biggest reason this game has such player retention, being the only thing that adds dynamic gameplay. I'm not sure I would call them "minor".

@[Deleted User] said:
Nurse is the strongest killer in the game, if she couldn't deal with your team then you are either very good or she was bad.
It's sad that "has the ability to finish the gens in under 3 minutes so as to totally avoid any skill-based interaction" is considered "good" in this game.
-
Legion has a longer stun because their power has no counterplay. It's a guaranteed, relatively easy hit unless the Legion in question is very bad. Now, they could do with a shorter stun duration, but anything more than a second and you're essentially back to playing Old Legion.
Edit: Anything more than a second taken off of their current 4-second stun
-
The issue here seems to be more that the survivors are letting it work. If someone's getting tunneled, everyone else should be doing gens. Hardcore tunneling is about as effective as facecamping. Which is not a justification for either, merely an observation as to why it happens.
Opportunistic tunneling and camping are different stories, but that's pretty much just how the game goes at this point.
-
I kind of hope they abandon the "dodge" aspect of its power completely and remove the I-frames. Everyone knows it's strong enough when used for distance, being able to hard-counter killers that use their powers for hits is just too much (Nurse, Spirit, Blight, Hag, Pig, Wraith, Trapper, Twins, Huntress, Demogorgon, even Deathslinger and Plague).
-
Actually, scratched mirror has a massive, massive counter: game sense.
Once you've played a little as/against scratched mirror, you'll know what he's going to do next. You'll know where he's likely hiding, how far he can go, what angles he'll take to stay out of sight, etc. I never really find I have a problem with him, though apparently my teammates always do.
-
Theres no point suggesting anything about chase mechanics, the Devs already shot that down.
Otherwise, sure. Whatever. Dunno how it would work with Trapper and I guess it would have to make Nurse a temp 115 killer.

Well, there's this one. He's the Meg on the first match lmao.
Okay, I don't think Sluzzy is a troll.
-
I hate how many people genuinely think like this. Is it even trolling if you're talking like a basic survivor main?

I play at rank 1 and I absolutely love Hex perks. My main Spirit/Ghostface/Pig build involves Hex perks. Ruin/Undying is one of my favourite combo's of all time now that it's not a free win.

It's what it's, teams and players as a whole will naturally use what's the strongest at that time. DS was that exact thing, now it's something else. if it's not one thing, eventually another takes its place. Although in some cases, many would argue that players using DS less and Adrenaline more is a win win.
Yeah, but I also have a personal vendetta against Adrenaline because of the playstyle it promotes for both sides.

That's fair, but I rarely see a good SWFs now a days. Even an average one is rare to find for some reason, it's usually just meme builds or cocky SWFs that just end in their death.
Also I don't see what you mean by "gone back to running Adrenaline and genrushing" since they've done that most of the time anyways. My guess as to what you mean is that the DS nerf loosened up a slot, so they're using that perk to fill it.
I haven't really had it since the Ruin nerf. Now they've been replacing DS with Adrenaline and ahem have been leaning into its strengths.
-
Sloppy Butcher is a fantastic perk. It does what it does well and, unlike so many people, I actually bother to bring healing perks because I'm not a sheep and I know, from my own experience, that the survivor meta isn't meta because it's the only strong perks survivors have.
My only problem with it is that it does nothing agaisnt your average sweat squad now that they've all gone back to running Adrenaline and genrushing.
Edit: And by "average" I do mean average, I'm not saying you can't beat them but also it does mean that you have a perk whose secondary effect is borderline useless in half the maps.

Not all killers want to play Nurse or Spirit.
But the choice is still there. A choice solo's don't have.
-
I mean, I prefer shirted Myers. Mystery adds spice
-
I once got accused of cheating by using Padded Jaws to farm STBFL stacks. And having the survivors get that glitch where they don't go through any animation and just get instantly released from the beartrap.
I also got accused of 3-genning myself after this legion literally camped the same 3 gens from the beginning of the trial. Didn't chase anyone. Just kept FFing and camping gens the entire trial.
-
Wait, aren't those top two images... A little backwards?
-
Rank 1.
Plague. I like her power, her strength, and I'm currently sick of Blight.
My favourite add-ons are her Vile Emetic and Insenced Ointment. Severed Toe is nice as well, as are both her iridescent add-ons.
-
You do know the Devs have said that it's an exploit and is getting removed, right? The even asked Otz not to use it.
-
Survivors lose because of solo que, not because of a lack of perks.
I mean, damn, you already have 16 of them working for you. 16.
