This exactly why many killers run Franklin’s: because of the grossly exaggerated survivor reaction to the perks effect (as demonstrated by you, commenting that it’s “pretty much the most dbag perk in the game.”)
No one item in the game is essential for survivors to complete their objective, escape, and win. Losing an item is nothing more than losing an item. Yet far too many survivors behave like their life depends on what was just dropped, and will sometimes be reckless enough to throw the game just to go back and retrieve whatever that item was.
This is the only reason Franklin’s is an often effective perk that helps a killer win a game: the survivor stupidity that follows after a successful use of Franklin’s.
It’s just an item.
There will always be chests.
There is always the bloodweb.
Survivors need to chill out and calm down when it comes to Franklin’s.
It is pretty annoying when the item your build is based around gets wrecked because the killer happened to equip a perk.
Not that survivors really need builds all that much. They're kind of just icing.
-
I used to but now I don't because there's absolutely no feedback on what it actually does or if it even works the way it's intended.
-
Sure, that sounds like a workable idea that would help alleviate the gap between solo que and SWF whilst also encouraging killers to leave hooks.
-
Yes. Completely. It is an impossible subject to police.
Clearly there's ethical concerns in this situation, but sometimes people are just jerks. I would advise you to change your name if you haven't already.
-
Yeah, screw playing as a team. I'm personally not having fun so I don't care about anyone else or the consequences of my actions.

Almost like old legion he confirms downs very consistently since he has 60 knives
Yeah, except he actually has counterplay to extend chases provide at least some level of basic interactivity. Also he tears through people like wet tissue paper if they're not near cover.

Okay?

Main event is pretty bad, mostly in that it cannot be saved and used whenever. Most tiles aren't that strong agaisnt him, although as with any killer a chained series of maze tiles can be devestating. Though, as I just pointed out and am now emphasizing for all the Trickster naysayers, that kind of Saffocation Pit-style setup is devestating for nearly everyone.
The thing with Trickster is that, while he rarely has super quick chases, he rarely long ones either. He's the most consistently average killer I think I've ever played. Which makes him rather strong imo.

I think he is referring to the fact that Legion would probably just halt for a fraction of a second and then vault the dropped pallet using his/her power and not need the aforementioned perks.
I take it people have never though about what might happen when you take a killer that makes everyone instantly injured and put them on a map with a bunch of pallets?

Don't be in those situations. Get better at hiding.
Say what now? Don't... Don't repair gens, save people, heal people, use any pallets, or even get into any chases?
-
Plague, Blight and Spirit all have really good addons. Every one of them, with the exception of Placebo Pill on Blight, is good. Wraith would come in 4th in terms of add-ons IMO.

It makes it worse when the survivors get this map and act so cocky. Cause they know that map is broken.
Unless you're playing Bubba/Legion/Billy with Spirit Fury/Enduring, in which case it is some of the most mindless fun in DbD

PC players trigger me.
They all just sit and do nothing the whole match.
PC players also trigger me. Because when I check their profiles after they left me to die they're usually on each others friends lists.
-
Lil bit.
-
I think there's 16 god pallets and another 6-8 brokenly strong pallets. I haven't counted personally though, this is just stuff I've heard. I do know that the difference between a god pallet and a safe pallet on The Game is miniscule.

Well it's a miserable experience not being able to communicate with teammates. Dying on first hook because no one knew who was doing what is a lovely time.
Unless you're masochistic (like me) then pure solo que is just... like, what is someone going to do in the ten situations per trial where the really need to pass on info or everyone dies regardless of skill or effort? Solo Que is for the psycho's that have lost all sanity, not for people that want to actually try and escape.
-
I'm fairly certain that the developers of the game are the ones who define "cheating", not random forum users that wanna beat on Solo's.

I'm sorry I cant see how he is remotely good.
If a survivor runs certain tiles he has to waste SO much time downing even if you have good aim. Shack is a perfect example of that plus jungle gyms. He also has no pressure, no snowball with his already lack luster kit and no way for area guarding. Not saying he should have all of these but he should at least have some of them.
He has decent chase, and that's literally it. He isn't above low tier IMO.
They honestly can't waste that much time. If you're timing things right then pretty much every instance you turn a corner and get a brief glimpse of them, your knives will be prepared and launched. Get one or two hits by throwing one or two knives, no wastage, and rinse and repeat.
Couple that with the fact that you shouldn't ever m1 a healthy person because them speeding away is free knives and he's pretty decent. Not the strongest, but... I dunno. He's kind of like PH but with RNG based snowball potential. He has counterplay, and it wastes time, but not enough.

Don't be such a snowflake and just force them out, what a dumb thing to complain about.
I guess it is true that Killer mains really do complain about literally everything.
There's always one.
-
Trickster is a good killer, he's just deceptively simple and requires very good aim and timing. Just constantly throw knives at people and they go down quick enough. He's not the next Deathslinger or Nurse, but he's solid.
-
1) there's no right way to play her early game. Sometimes it's best to get a full infection on someone, sometimes it's best to get them sick and leave them alone. It all depend son how well they are playing and how much they have to work with
2) Hold your puke. If you fully charge it, you run around as at 110% movement speed. This is extremely useful for getting a full infection, as even without add-ons a single full purge to the back is a full infection. It's also useful for chasing people around high-wall tiles such as Jungle Gyms with Corrupt Purge.
3) You can hit multiple people at once, even through hooked survivors. Her puke phases directly through survivors to get the person behind them as well.
4) She is a snowball killer. Set them up with Vile Purge, then snowball at your earliest convenience. If they don't cleanse and your one fountain is in a bad spot, ignore it u til you've hooked someone and use the hook as bait as you go collect your power.
5) If they do cleanse, murder them all with glee. Okay, to be fair this one requires you to be very, very good with her Corrupt Purge. Most plagues aren't even close.
Edit: sorry, posted that before I finished my last thought. What I was going to say was to practice. A lot. She is a very high mechanical skill killer and requires a lot of micromanaging, which is why people claim her to be bad.

yeah but thats the thing:
i LOVE the character, i really do.
but every time i try playing him, i get reminded of just how bad he is and the games are just overall extremely frustrating.
so i really want to play him, i really want to like him - but i just cant get myself to do it.
thats why i made this post, because i want people to motivate me to give him another shot, maybe with a build suggestion they find enjoyable, maybe with some tipps and tricks they found out with him, something - because i really do want to like him, i just cant find a way to do it on my own.
I find that he is actually quite strong, somewhere around the level of Ghostface. His playstyle is holding W at survivors and knowing when to ready his knives. You can get hits pretty much everywhere. No m1, no mindgames, just follow people around and hurl glass daggers I'm their backs. He has a high mechanical skill cap but otherwise has nothing else to keep me interested thanks to how much you are punished for cool shots, whether or not you land them.
But, if you like characters that require mechanical skill then he's a solid choice.
-
Always use his knives. Never m1 unless it's for a down. His playstyle is literally just hold W at survivors whilst throwing knives. Everything else is just down to mechanical skill and timing. You need to know exactly when to ready your knives and have good aim - if you have both, you can get in a couple of knives every time you turn a corner.
And I cannot stress enough, do not use your m1 to injure people. Ever. If you use your knives you have no cooldown and can usually land another 4-6 hits on them as they sprint away. Easy down.
-
Why should you play Deathslinger?
Play whoever. If you don't like a character, you don't like them. Nothing is forcing you to play them.
-
I'm certainly tired of playing killer at red ranks. Every team is just the most uninteractive, hold W, predrop pallets and slam gens kind of absolutely fun group that likes to win by default and flames you for daring to attempt to use a strong killer against them you filthy tryhard camping tunneling go-tale-a-shower-and-ignore-our-builds-and-playstyle.
Like, come on. Get some perspective. Of course killers are going to camp, tunnel and slug when that's what they have to do to win. Because you're certainly not getting anywhere by 12-hooking. And it's against the rulebook to play strong killers with strong builds.
Don't blame people for playing how the game is essentially intended to play. This is a game where survivors and killers can, and often only, win by default.

Trickster benefits more from ruin / pop
I dunno, pop on a killer with no mobility never seems worth it to me. Especially not one as necessarily aggressive as Trickster. Still, whatever works works, sometimes its just down to playstyle.
-
Hold W after the survivors and learn when to ready your knives. Don't m1 healthy people. Run Ruin/Undying. Even if it gets knocked out relatively early Trickster benefits a lot from it.
-
Wasn't it buffed? The Mangled effect was on a timer and now it isn't?

@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
First off, they ARE "just" doing their objective. That's literally exactly what they're doing, efficiency or no. Genrushing is them literally having nothing else to do because the killer isn't forcing them to do anything else. Saying taking advantage of gens being more efficient split up isn't their objective is like saying making a 4v1 a 3v1 via tunneling isn't the killer's objective.
Lame? Sure. Forbidden? No.
I agree that people spawning separated next to a gen on Red Forest is a bullshit situation, and that people should always spawn as a group or in pairs of two (along with more condensed maps), but don't get upset with survivors for literally doing their sole objective.
Most people consider gen rushing to be them doing gens over literally a thing else. As in, the killers got someone on a hook and they're chasing someone else and the last 2 people are still doing gens.
Which I get a lot. Because it's a sound tactic and it works and it's totally worth the hook state to have all the gens done in under 3 minutes. Yay, time to get bullied for daring to play a strong, mobile killer.
-
A wheel of cheese. I just wanna run around holding it and sometimes taking a bite.

No, before survivor could kick Viktor at roughly 16 meters now it's 20 meters or more, so if someone it's far away and see Viktor down someone, they can run and kick him, thing that they couldn't do before, and that's ######### bad, twins already have a lot of requirements, they don't need more it's just stupid, they can't slug as effectively, since they can be stopped a lot easier than before.
The situations where that comes into play are so few to the point of barely being worth mentioning. Especially since people already jump in lockers or pair up.

You literally stand still for 5 second after you hit a ponce, you get punished because you did well, and that destroy they're snowball potential, like literally no other snowball killer have as much condition as them
Their snowball potential is almost completely unnaffected. Either the survivors had paired up and you were going to get kicked anyway, or... you spend 2 extra seconds doing nothing as a killer that moves as 6.0m/s?
-
How are they supposed to know that you're on the gen if they don't have Bond and can't physically see you?
-
I don't think so, but I've had people use the old map offerrings and fail to get the realm. Not sure if that counts though since they have a much lower modifier

As I have seen someone say it before and I agreed upon it is something along the:
"If key is usable for escape it means you are probably already streamrolling it so 1 key escape does not matter or you are going to lose anyways without key used."
But yeah, it is kinda poopy to just get rewarded escape like that, but what do I know?
Most games are played around the last one or two gens thanks to the basic design of the game. Which means if you kill one or two survivors the last two or three can take the hatch instead of attempting to... You know, play the game.
-
Both of these are terrible ideas. The only thing they should do is make Main Event bankable. If you're still struggling with him, I would suggest practicing your aim and knowing how to time your shots around tiles.
-
Okay, but what if we just don't do that and also when us survivor players are playing we also don't bully the crap out of the killer just because we are in safe zones and have second chance perks and they aren't playing one of the scary killers with little to no direct counterplay that exist because of precisely these situations?
-
I often dodge full SWF lobbies after awful games. Usually by quitting to go play survivor for a few trials.
-
I think it's neat. Not really that unexpected, not really that important to me personally, but I know RE has a huge fan base and I'm glad to see the chapter coming in and bringing in those new players.

He sucks so much survivors sometimes get cocky and go off to search chests and break all the dull totems lol.
In all honesty ruin is not that great on him because he is so slow; and even his knives don't stop you from finishing a gen like a huntress hatchet would.
I feel like everyone that says he sucks genuinely doesn't know how to play him.
He can hit you anywhere. High walls aren't hard counters any more, they just slow him down a bit. Sure, he's not the next Nurse, but he doesn't suck. No killer with that low a cap on chase time can ever be bad.
-
Ruin, Undying, M&A, and I don't have a set fourth perk.
Ruin is just amazing on him. Something about him forces people off of gens. I don't really know why yet, it just does.

Camping doesn't take the game hostage.
-
A little. Trickster is a bit of a one-trick pony. He does what he does well, but the only reason to keep playing him is to get better aim. Not to learn new things.
The rest of the chapter, however, is absolutely amazing and I will be playing with those buffs and perks for quite some time.
-
Thing is, NOED isn't that good. It's a free kill perk and nothing else, and the only ones that can disable it with the "CoUnTeRpLaY" that everyone keeps pretending exists are co-ordinated swf teams. Because even a dedicated totem hunting solo will fail miserably because who cares that you got all 5 dulls if the last gen never gets done?
The problem with NOED is that it's unfair, not OP. Get outperked, scrub. It needs to get changed along with every second chance perk.
