  • According to the game designers, you are supposed to hear a gen or two pop before you get your first hook.

  • Kind of off-topic but good old Gordon Ramsey makes his money berating and belittling people that seem to not be using common sense, but in fact often have been set up by the producers and/or are just doing their jobs and the fault lies as much, if not more, with him and an overly stressful kitchen atmosphere. Maybe not the best mascot for an anti-dev post.

Flip flop already does 50% wiggle meter. The proposed change would let survivors get the full benefit faster which makes the perk more attractive.

Currently, if you need to fill up the bar to get it's full effect, why not just bring unbreakable and get up yourself?

And I have gone against flip flop gamers that become genuinely unhookable. That being said, it is currently quite rare given that it takes so damned long to fill the wiggle bar via flip flop. If you actually manage to get to the 50% marker, chances are that you're going to get picked up by a teammate instead of the killer.

  • Flip flop is a dangerous perk to buff. Right now slugging is forced upon the community, and the killer only getting half the time to reach a hook...

  • No, you're right, it's Fixated. The killer would be walking faster than cloaked wraith with windstorm.

  • I know this seems like whattabouting, but bear with me.

That mentality is the exact same as the BMing survivor mentality. We're talking the spam vaults next to hatch, key+blacklock tracker, 4BNP and some exit gate BM... Just like facecamp into BM, bleed-out into BM, all the little things like that, it's all just people wanting to exert dominance. Some people do whatever gives them a power trip.

And not all of them are necessarily inherently toxic - clearly BMing someone that was nothing but respectful is, but maybe the Mori tunneller or key/map buddies just had a rough AF match and aren't thinking super clearly. Maybe they're going to get to the endgame screen and feel like absolute idiots. It's a genuine symptom of having BS in a trial - sometimes you just get fed up with it being used against you and want to hurt someone like you got hurt.

Not a justification, just a potential explanation.

  • Other than the fact I was constantly getting "error 111" for no apparent reason, hit validation was fine. Although I did still go against killers with extremely high ping that got hits on me from too far out, even taking into account latency. When you stun them, run a step and go down... Yeah.

  • Spirit is worthless against any decent SWF, regardless of your skill and tactics. Food for thought.

Who of us is making assumptions now? I did make one assumption, which I acknowledged and said sorry for. I certainly did NOT tell you what you ahve to think or hwo to play, thats an assumption and strawman from your side.

And I can totally call out your manners if you go totally overboard with it:

"whattabouting prick" (name calling), "stop being immature" (assumption / condescending), "THERE ARE MORE THAN JUST YOUR PROBLEMS" (I do not even say or imply somthing like this), "stop being childish" (see above), "dislike people like you that make assumptions, strawman and put words into people's mouths" (assumption about my intentions from a single sly comment of mine), "Take a reality check" (condescending).

Quite some rambling for a single incident in which I implied your biasedness (my only fallacy in this whole "discussion", btw). I even tried to bring it back to the topic, TWO TIMES, but you totally ignored that. So to put it with your very own words:

"you could stop being childish stay focused on the issue at hand, thank you."

I have yet to make an assumption about you - Everything I have said has been in direct response to your words. And, I would like to point out, that I ignored a topic that you opened, because I do not care and it has little to do with the topic at hand - namely, facecamping and noed.

In addition, I genuinely cannot trust you with any form of reasonable discussion given how you introduced yourself. Why would I even bother when you have clearly shown you would rather attack my character in your opening sentences before getting to anything else. The only reason I am even replying to this is on the off-chance you were simply having a bad day and will take this to heart the next time you see someone and have a massive knee-jerk. After all, I only said that NOED was the problem and that the community has come up with numerous ways to fix it.

Then a certain individual decided to attack me, straw-man, tell me what I think and how I am wrong and imply my opinion doesn't matter, and introduced a completely different topic with which to "discuss" under the idea that I would trust someone like that to be reasonable.

Please, take what happened here into consideration and don't attack someone's character for quite literally no reason as your way of introducing yourself and your ideas.

  • Any advice on how to deal with people that lhack the game and can literally make themselves immortal... Yeah, that's not a thing anyone can give, I'm afraid. Just hit the record button (if you can) and ride it out.

  • I had this problem, it was fixed for me when I force closed Steam and restarted the ap. I don't know if that'll work though, it depends on the bug that's causing it.

Manners my friend. You can point out my whataboutism (which you are absolutely correct with btw) without calling me names! I just had a feeling you are one of them who sees everyhing the killer has as problematic and every problematic thing the survivors have as totally fine. Sorry for that. Btw, I do not have a problem with DS/UB, so it's certainly "NOT JUST MY PROBLEM" you are claiming I wrote about.

The thing is, you wrote "The solution is easy - take away the biggest problem perk in the killers arsenal.". If you want to remove Noed, which I wouldn't really mind, you have got to do something about Adrenaline, bc they are some kind of counterparts. Also, just taking something away bc there is an unfavourable edge case where it is "abused" is a pretty bad solution, imo. To come back to DS//UB example, taking away one of them to remove the combo would be pretty stupid as well.

No, I don't regret a single word I wrote. I dislike people like you that make assumptions, strawman and put words into people's mouths. Take a reality check before you tell me what I think, what I use or how I play.

Edit: And don't try to take the high road and call out my manners - You quite literally lied about what I said and called me biased because if it.

  • I'm assuming you don't have access to any other killers teachable perks, so: Sloppy Butcher (any tier), Whispers (tier 3 only), Im All Ears, Bitter Murmer.

  • But I like being one big community :(

  • No, farming is giving the killer free map pressure unless you're a scumbag.

Although farming itself is a pretty scummy thing to do to a teammate.

  • Holy shite, that's actually the most Game-breaking UI bug I've ever heard of. It literally never changed from the load-in screen? Damn. I've never even heard of that one.

  • @ABannedCat said:

Grabs are simply bugged. That is apparent even on the survivor screen. I have been grabbed in situations where I should not have been grabbed, but I also have seen instances where the killer starts the grab animation on the survivor screen, but then gets it denied a few frames later.

Grabs are like the hitboxes in this game, where they are so hopelesssly broken, that not even the developers themselves know how exactly they are working.

Theres nothing at all wrong with hitboxes. They work exactly as intended. The only problems are latency and the stupid hit-cone system.

  • Dying light's a wierdly solid perk on them. Not only does it help slow gens, people will often stick to the obsession for heals. Bing bam stabby stab, you've got 2 deep wounds and a chase.

Also, Legion is wierdly stronger than most people realise just because of how quick they can get pallets down. They're no Bubba, but injured people play way safer, and their inherent slowdown can be good if combined with the aforementioned perk.

Thana sucks, though. Don't bother unless you're going for the psychological effect of making them want to heal. It does SEEM to work with their playstyle of spreading damage... But it doesn't do its job well.

    Also, apologies.

I wasn't talking about NM at all.

For the last time... No Mither reduces grunts in the dying state, not just in the regular injured/broken state. A No Mither user in the dying state crawling away is much harder to hear.

Uh... Why the confrontation? Should I put my hands up?

Did you even read what I wrote, or did you skim it?

People have to be lying with these OoO threads. I almost never get a OoO SWF.

OoO is broken even for solo que. It's such a ridiculous amount of info with almost no downside. SWF just adds superheated salt to the gaping wound.

  • @Kellie said:

Or maybe you can just grow ears to track the downed survivor?

Sound has been a big issue in DBD for a long time - for example, downed survivors quite often make no sound at all, something that was supposedly patched out but most definitely wasn't.

  • I see just as many console players with map offerings. Maybe it's a meta shift that's being swept over you guys, but map offerings have always been extremely common for me, and I am on PC.

So cheap two kills, yeah. But thats still not against any rule. The killer won't get much points or pip, you likely won't get much points or pip, it's essentially like a red mori game with a tunnel-mori killer. Or a bit lika against EW3 Tombstone Myers. The latter two take a bit more skill though, i give you that.

I still think this is not an urgent issue, since it's still very rare. Since the thread is about "no counterplay", let me point out what you could do in this situation:

The noed totem would be top priority, but you do not have the time to cleanse totems before and surely not after finishing a gen, since bubba can see you with bitter murmur. So you should try to play against the latter. All but one could hide in locker while the last one pops the final gen. Bubba will only see this one and chase him. If lucky, he can juke him with the aura, distortion could help (if there are still tokens left), or using a head on play (killer sees them going into the locker and heads there). The other(s) would be needed to open gate.

Sure, no hard counter, but there's still some things you can do if you are assume that the face camper likely playes bitter murmur and noed.

You mistake "hard" for "unreasonable," and "urgent" for "difficult to solve." The solution is easy - take away the biggest problem perk in the killers arsenal. There's literally dozens of ideas that keep getting floated around for what NOED could do. It's not hard to change a few values around. It really isn't. However, it's against the Devs policy because... Honestly, there's no legitimate reason. It's just against company policy.

  • So, suicide simulator? Sure, I guess. I don't prestige unless I like a cosmetic, so I have no problem with making an account prestige for people that want it, but that's the most genuinely severe masochistic thing I have ever seen someone post on DBD. It will literally make people quit playing, unless they keep literally everything but perks, items and add-ons. And even then, most people will forget the sheer and absolute grind, account prestige, and quit because F that in the A with a stick of barbed wire.

In fact, I can guarantee that even you don't know how bad the grind is, given that you've clearly been playing for years and didn't have that absolute MOUNTAIN on BP standing before you and what you currently have.

  • So... Be an absolute wanker and call everyone else wankers for saying that I'm a wanker.

Got it. Will do so in the future.

  • Dead Hard works fine for me. Of course, I don't use it to try and dodge hits.

Being farmed is NOT being tunneled according to most killer mains. Killer mains have no argument here.

Main main main main main. Main.

What about survivors? If I get farmed, it's not getting tunneled. If the killer then proceeds to completely ignore the arsehole that farmed me, then yeah, I got tunneled. But if we both go down and I get picked up? Not so much. Or, in fact, at all. I wish that DS, in that situation, let you both escape AND confer a hook state onto your farmer. If they die... Maybe they should learn to play better.

Not on its own, yes. But rarity together with impact. If a rare situation is actually game breaking, it needs to be considered. But a face camping bubba is surely not, thats not a bug / glitch, no bannable offense, it's just an unfavored playstyle. So as I said, it's rare to play against a bubba face camping from the start, its extremely rare to play against a player that ALWAYS face camps with bubba, and on top of that, the player is not even doing anything wrong.

The op more or less asked for a technical solution to prevent the extremely rare all-the-time face-camping bubbas from playing the way they are doing. And thats exactly the non-issue I'm seeing. I already doubt that there is even one player always playing face-camping bubba on a regular basis, bc thats just extremely boring and a waste of time.

The main problem here wasn't the facecamp - it was the facecamp into NOED. Sure, if someone's facecamping then you can do gens and leave, but even the "Do BoNeS" excuse doesn't come into play. You don't have the time. It takes a free kill, and doubles it. THATS the real issue.

Damn. If we're on the same servers, then maybe I've versed you.

Ever had a P3 Yui or a biker Kate go by the name Reaper Andross?

Not that I can remember. I mostly play around late evening/midnight, mostly as Kate by the name Redshirt (Bloody slip dress, jeans and ponytail.) But the only time I remember names is when I'm playing Ghostface, so we totally might have played together.

Aus Sydney. I normally play on Xbox, but I've also been caught up with other games and my killer rank't tanked a bit.

Still faced teams with two reds and a purple and killed it. I think it's more of a case of random than SWF.

Then I don't know what's going on. I'm in Northland NZ, so we're on the same servers, but I can definitely confirm that the average IQ of my teammates and opponents has gone up in the generator department ever since crossplay released. It's like everyone started proving that they could do gens. I have to be ruthless in the early/mid game to even stand a chance, or I just have no map pressure. That means punishing farms and leaving them on the ground to pick themselves up, because that's just the meta.

  • Base/character perks?

Both - Whispers, Sloppy, Bitter Murmer, Overcharge (replace overcharge with literally any other regression perk later on).

    Good perks?

Doctor - Whispers, Sloppy, Corrupt, PGTW

Pyramid Head - Sloppy, Nurses, M&A, I'm All Ears

  • Damn. Not only did they re-enable the penalty system that doesn't really do much and causes more harm than good, they didn't fix the core issue that got it disabled in the first place.

Side note, does anyone else slug those whiny little pricks that spam vaults and clearly try to suicide at the start of a match? 1 in 3 games I seem to get them. They're even more annoying than normal suiciders.

  • No, actually, but their own admission and behaviour they clearly change the most common issues first, regardless of the ease that others could be addressed.

  • No. Nurse has the highest mechanical skill floor in the game, and as I have come to realise she also has a decent tactical skill floor as well. Don't believe me? Look at all the people talking about her "prediction." She's a reactive killer. Prediction doesn't matter.

That being said, Spirit at base is by no means a simple or easy killer, mechanically or tactically. Stridor and tuned audio settings, however, make her far simpler and, by extension, considerably easier, since you no longer have to predict/mindgame and can simply react to everything.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1574203#Comment_1574203

I do it all the time and haven't really "lost" yet. Even if I get no kills, I can still get a Brutal or Relentless.

Then I want your survivors. Ever since crossplay was enabled, the meta in my region has become "bum rush the gens." Which, whilst always an issue, had become almost every game regardless of the skill of either side. Unless the killer is winning, taking trades usually wastes too much time and gives them no pressure. Either way, it is a little entitled to think that the killer should just let people go, especially since it's their teammate that is to blame in the majority of situations.

  • @CaulDrohn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/186197/facecamping-bubba-is-uncounterable

I do not see the need to "solve this", honestly. Playing against a face camping bubba is rare in my experience. Even more rare should be players playing like this ALL THE TIME, just because it is super boring to do so game after game. It may be funny for some rounds, but I assure you there won't be many players doing this in every match. So it's more or less a non-issue, currently.

    Rarity doesn't confer non-issue status.

  • Or, and hear me out on this, we could all bum rush the unhook and, if we don't have DS/UB active, blame you for tunneling and camping!

Honestly, it's so much easier than analysing our own gameplay to see where we went wrong. You're a dirty prick, we're the heroes that can't do wrong. End of story

  • It's relaxed and easy, you only have to do 2-3 chases and even then you're the one in control for most of it.

  • Have you ever heard of Old Legion?

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

And this is why survivors use ds...

That, an a lack of knowledge on how to counter tunelling.

Seriously, the few times I get tunneled I rarely see a gen pop. Everyone's always hanging out near me trying to take hits for me. I just want them to do gens and escape so they can punish the killer...

  • Both of those are incredibly weak builds. If they weren't, they wouldn't require map offerings.

  • That's the meta for you: No-one wants to heal before they pop a gen.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

Question in return. Why are you, the killer, not at all satisfied with taking an easy hook trade?

It progresses your objective further and can make survivors cautious about going for unhooks.

Because hook-trading is bad gameplay and will often make you lose, especially if "trader" has a couple of "fair" perks up their sleeves.

It also doesn't progress your objective very much at all, and has the opposite effect on survivors: People will just rush the hook because they think you won't do anything about it. That is the surest way to have as little map pressure as possible, since half of pressuring the map is entirely in the survivors heads.

  • That sounds like a hacker. Unless all 3 of your teammates loaded in with a Prove Thyself and 3 BNP... That would still take a noticeable amount of time for the second gen to finish. That just sounds like someone running from gen to gen with a 10,000% repair speed buff.

  • @HarlowXRaven said:

also tell me some and ill enter it into the discussion and if you look above I did respond to a comment talking about it. I think reworks should be more in session than a nerf but tell me some.

Well, to start with, Spirit, Deathslinger Pyramid Head, Bubba, Hag, Nurse PGTW, Corrupt Intervention, regression perks in general, BBQ, Infectious Fright, and even good old Billy have all been called for nerfs quite recently. Once again, whether or not you agree with them doesn't change the fact that these are some of the things rearing their heads.

Edit: and the Blight's unreleased perks.

  • You completely ignored the even larger groups of people wanting nerfs to killers and killer perks, which genuinely inclides a large number of killers. Claiming to be a "killer main" and utterly failing to mention an entire half of the argument that, by all rights, should negatively impact you more than the argument what you are stating is somewhat suspect. It is especially questionable when your title implies that you are going to discuss all of these points that people bring up and you only touch upon one side, regardless of whether or not you agree with the other.

  • Not cleansing against Plague is as boring as DBD gets. "Oh, wow, it's an m1 killer with no power BUT instadowns. How fun and interactive. Let's rush gens and leave before we run out of pallets to instantly drop."

Then you go and cleanse against her and it's actually Interesting - she gets a powerful ability, you have to loop in a different way, and you get to see the salt from your teammates that think sitting on gens is fun gameplay.

I just hope hit validation has fixed her power - I've played a few games now and it seems okay, but I was also going against survivors with good ping. I just want to main my favourite killer again without damaging my mental health with all those robs.

  • A very 1-sided look at things, don't you think?

1 … 137 138 139 140 141 … 165
