It could compete with mindbreaker or monstrous shrine for being the worst perk.
How so? It could be a build towards countering a 4-man toolkit or 2 flashlights.

I'd rather change the base game to make it so used items are consumed in the trail so you cant bring the same purple toolbox to every match.
Or make it so if a killer gets a 3k he keeps his add ons
Yeah, I’d just like more balance towards items. Granted, I don’t mind keeping mine after a match as I do try to save my toolkit, but it’s unfair if Killers “win” they/we lose everything.

I never suggested the salty complaints you were catering to were your own. There's no need for your idea of an anti-item perk when not just one, but TWO are already in the game. Sorry for trying to help you have fun mate, I'll try to remember that everything I say is the start if an argument with you :/
Which other perks? Besides FD? Overwhelming Presence isn’t great imo. Also, this isn’t necessarily anti- as I inputted a buff for the Items.
Edit: My apologies. I took that as you saying I was being salty.

Word of advice: come up with fun, creative, and unique perk ideas instead of catering to salty complaints. It's more fun that way.
Not really sure where I’m being salty. I’m laying out an opinion and an idea for others to constructively build on.
You just argue with everyone on every post.
-
@Waffleyumboy said:
Dude what? You mean a worse overwhelming presence? If you don't like items Franklin's tier 3 is more than enough.
No, it’s not. I use FD on nearly all my Killers and you have to M1 to apply it. The consuming portion is alright, but Survivors can just swing around and grab their item to save it.
This could be a Hex perk if that was easier to allow.
-
@Starr43 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/127741/idea-on-a-killer-perk-degrading-possession
Add “Tight Grip” for survivors then:
- Any item found during the game can be kept through death
- Franklin’s will not cause you to drop your item but the 10% charge can be buffed to 20% for FD
That would be a nice counter! It’s all about trade-off imo and right now the only counter to 4-man SWF with items is Franklins, but then you have to M1 and they can just swing around and grab it.
I don’t want this to be a nerf on Survivors but more of a pressure point for both sides. Apply pressure and if you bring an item, use it or lose it.
Ooh that could be the perk name: “Use It or Lose It”
-
@ASAPTurtle said:
I don't like having my medkit lose 10% of it's charge for no reason. The other part of the perk is bad.
That’s fair, but killers also don’t like a 4 man SWF.
The Idea is to keep survivors on their objective and to pressure killers to focus on generators. If you keep Survivors off, their items break themselves down without being applied. If you don’t, then survivors can use them appropriately.
The affect could also only work when survivors are not utilizing their item. But if they are, they have an increased speed at using it without a consuming penalty.

I suppose it seems like a nerf but I honestly could care less about 4k’s..
I do like the idea of catching up to someone with adrenaline I was just chasing and doing a Mori.. if I have Rancor as well then it’s a bonus to find them too.
NoED is far from a guarantee to a 4k. Most of the time I’ve used it, it secures 1 maybe 2 kills if they’re too altruistic. Others, the totems are cleansed and it never activates or they all escape thanks to BT countering NoED.
-
@Starr43 said:
- NOED was no longer applied to a totem
- Exposed status was no longer applied
- Two consecutive hits grants you the ability to kill that survivor by your hands
- Hitting another survivor cancels what was gained from the previous hit on the original survivor
- The ability to kill with your hands cannot be applied if the survivor was still injured once the last generator has been completed unless they are fully healed
- The ability may be used on more than one survivor as long as they were hit two times consecutively
This seems more like you’re wanting this perk nerfed than just changed.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with NoED in its current state as with most of the killer perks.

Everything Must Go
Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is an unopened Chest remaining on the map, this Chest is marked. While the mark is active,
- The item consumption rate is increased by 50/75/100%
- Survivors who escape through an Exit lose their currently equipped item.
Fully searching a marked Chest removes the mark.
Spawns 1 additional Chest at the start of the Trial.
----
This perk, like Hex: No One Escapes Death, will punish Survivors for not completing all of their optional objectives before completing their primary objective. MegaLuL
Interesting concept, but not as a penalty for not completing an option objective. You’d have to span this to totems and probably pallets then.
Maybe, if a killer has this perk it slowly consumes whatever item was brought into the game during the game.

This nonsense of face camping someone over half way through the game because they're good has got to go. This can no longer be a supported "play style?" because it's the epitome of trolling. You legit have the power to make me sit there and do nothing so that's exactly what you're going to do. Because you're upset. No one should feel entitled to kills or escapes. However the way this community acts in game is as if that's how they want things to be. Like bubbas chainsaw rev that grants loads of camping, or spirit still being able to go half way across the map every 20 seconds. Now I have to abandon people and deal with NOED every single game too, I can't get every totem every round don't give me that bs I get 2-3 myself it takes up time.
Welcome to the world of gaming. The land where people can play how they want as the game allows.
Complaining about face camping? You’ve got to be new here. That is not even a huge issue in this game.

@yobuddd said:
Everyone talks about wanting new objectives, hating “gen rush”, the game is stale, on and on. Well I’ve got a solution for you!
Enter the Death Or Daylight game mode! No generators. No exit gates. No EGC. Instead we have a bar at the top of the screen just like in EGC, but instead of 2 minutes, it’s 60 minutes! (Yes, I know, 60 minutes... trust me on this, read on)
- The goal, survive until the sun comes up OR kill everyone before the sun comes up (ie Death or Daylight! Eh? Eh? 🤗)
- At the start of the match, the game is very dark for all players, but brightens very slowly as the timer counts down. This represents the approach of dawn. At the end of the timer, the sun emerges and scalds the Entity. If this happens, then the now enraged Entity will grab the killer (EGC style) and pull him underground to be punished. Any remaining survivors are free to wander back to the campfire, having won the trial.
So do you have to survive for a whole hour? Absolutely not! That’s absurd!
- Survivors search the map for the 6 large sundials and interact to assemble the pieces. These are the “generators”. A completed sundial causes the timer to elapse by an additional second per real-world second. (In other words, at the start of the game, the timer ticks down 1 second at a time. When a sundial is complete, it’s 2 seconds at a time, and so on. This translates into minutes as well. If 4 sundials are complete, then one actual minute will remove 5 minutes from the game timer.)
- For perspective, if all 6 sundials are complete at the very beginning of the match, then the “hour-long” timer would be complete in about 8.5 minutes. Sounds like a fair match length to me! Since they don’t start off completed, I would expect most matches to be closer to 15 minutes.
- The faster the timer goes, the more quickly the map brightens.
- Killers can damage a sundial just like a generator, and the pieces will continue to crumble off until a survivor stabilizes it (regression).
- Survivors may complete all sundials, but still have to survive until the now speedy timer expires, causing the sun to rise.
- Periodically, at random intervals, The Entity will thrash and cause the realm to rumble in a great quake. This causes any survivor outside the terror radius to scream with a notification bubble (like the doctor shocks). Lockers don’t prevent a scream. This is to prevent survivors from hiding out for a whole hour as the killer will have at least a general direction to search in. (I’m open to alternatives if this seems OP).
That’s pretty much it! Certain perk effects will need to be reworked for this mode, (until then, just don’t run Wake-Up, okay?). So let’s hammer out the details and make this thing happen!
Definitely not 60 minutes. Maybe 10-15 minutes.

Dead hard in its current state is generally fine, but I'm thinking about how the concept behind the perk is flawed. I don't usually have a problem with the perk unless I play Trapper, & in certain cases it can screw over a killer completely. Even if the perk doesn't work correctly a good amount of the time it shouldn't have the ability to hard counter a trap.
Is this a PC thing? I do not experience these issues on Xbox. Even in my time playing a trapper I never even paid attention this small detail.

Sure dude you only use it cause its sometimes useful, uh huh, by this logic ruin was a weak perk since it got taken out early so much since there were so many variables that led to it being inconsistent like totem spawns, player spawns, gen spawns, etc. And as such needed a buff not a nerf.
Sure dude?

Its almost impossible to fail DH on a Trap. And loop trapping is countered by leaving the loop. Just like with Hag for example. Killers like Doctor, Hilbilly, Nurse, Demogorgon, Hag, Spirit or even Cannibal and Clown can force you to abandon the loop, why Trapper shouldnt be able to? And none of their powers are countered by DH.
Everyone except Clown can have their powers countered by DH in certain circumstances. You can against clown to if he doesn’t have certain add ons.
-
@Archimedes5000 said:
If its done well, I dont think it would interfere, just make Traps ignore iframes, DH is the only perk that uses them.
It does happen frequently, you can say it happens all the time while trapping pallets. Survivior loops you, so you trap the pallet during chase to disable the loop, survivior DH and now the loop is disabled for you, he doesnt even need to drop the pallet... And no, you cant crouch through Bear Traps, that works only with Hag.
I don’t play much survivor nor against trapper so my fault for not fact checking.
However, why shouldn’t survivors be able to counter a trapper countering a loop? That’s balanced. Because if they fail the DH they’re trapped.

Yeah, you are 100% right. Thats why only the interaction Bear Trap <---> Dead Hard should be adjusted, everything else is fine. And all bugs have to be fixed obviously.
I agree. But the issue with them fixing the interaction between Bear Traps and DH is it could interfere with the damage resistance factor of DH. It just needs to be left as is. I highly doubt this happens frequently. Maybe complain about crouching over traps, but not about using a perk that avoids damage (not saying you are complaining).

If think basically having an extra health state as a survivor isnt op your insane. Theres a reason so many people use it in high ranks.
DH is not nearly as “OP” as perks like DS or BT. You can counter DH. As I mentioned to another, it’s easy to bait a player to early use of DH.
It’s not really an extra health state lol. If that’s the case, then every time a killer swings and misses that survivor just received an extra health state. No.
I use DH because it’s just useful in certain situations, it is literally not a broken perk or “OP” perk. I have had it fail as many times as work. Idk man, I just don’t see a problem with DH. I believe it’s a well-balanced perk since there are variables that make it go bad or good and it still leads to you being exhausted if executed perfectly.

So the thing wrong with it is that it doesn't work most of the time.
Sure, but that’s more of a connectivity issue and not the perk itself. I’ve had instances where it has worked and then hasn’t in the exact same match. Or it might just be bad timing on my behalf and the killer executed an attack before I hit my action key.
-

And how exactly did you adress the problem with traps? Just because its not OP doesnt mean it can be bullshit.
Yes, DH is broken because of servers. But it doesnt mean you should be able to dodge traps
You’re basing your analysis of DH against one killer. DH is so easily baited that it’s not an issue. Half the survivors I play against that use it, hit a wall. Just because it’s bullshit against one killer doesn’t mean it’s bullshit entirely.

Is there nothing wrong with it or does it not work most of the time?
If we’re talking about him complaining about DH through a trap, and it not working most of the time? No, there’s nothing wrong with it. Latency causes the issue with it not working, not the perk itself. The perk is a counter to damage, which is does perfectly fine. It’s really not that great of a perk and even when used against me I still catch the person unless the execute it to a vault or pallet then they just bested me. I’m literally not going to complain about a balanced perk simply because it beat me once.

Yet a entire squad of Survivors without perks can dominate a Killer. Yet a perkless killer will have trouble against the same lvl of skill that those survivors have.
Without perks both ways, killer wins. I play only killer. It’s literally unbalanced based on Perks and the variables of tiles. Nothing else.

(Before you read this, just know this is a rant and I, just like you, have every right to voice how I feel and my opinion. I know not every Survivor is like this and I'm not generalizing us as a whole.)
Playing DBD for as long as I've played, I have yet to receive hate mail or harassment from a Killer after a match being a Survivor main. Do I have bad games? Yes, all the time, but never do I ever feel as bad about a bad game as Survivor than I do about playing Killer.
Last week I posted a topic about messages I received from a Survivor that was upset I camped with Bubba to complete a challenge. I got over it, even though the messages were super messed up and one of the worst things you can say to a person. But then I get on my YouTube last night and realized this person and his group of friends took the time out of their lives to search up my PSN ID on YouTube and find my channel.
Not only did they dislike every video, but comments they left were so disgusting OVER ONE MATCH, ONE MATCH THAT I CAMPED ONE PERSON. The one time I actually decide, "Hey, I want to play Killer and get my challenges done even though I know I'm bad at it" I get harassed. Why do Killers proceed to get treated like garbage by the player base? How do Killer mains deal with the negativity when it comes to just doing their jobs? (which is to KILL). I've been camped, tunneled, tea bagged but Piggy/Ghostface, slapped while on the hook, ect but never have I ever went as far as messaging someone and talking trash to them or better yet, searching up their PSN ID to find them on other platforms to continues my hissy fit.
Its a game. I never knew DBD was taken this serious to the point that people will go as far as to basically cyber bully someone over a match that went wrong. This is just a rant about my experience as Killer. I don't like the way they're treated and yes I get that tunneling and camping Killers are not fun to go against because this is a video game and video games are meant to be fun, but if you're a Survivor that decides to go out of your way to bully someone because of one bad match, shame on you. You give Survivors like me a bad name & are the majority of the reason why there is a divide between the two sides.
(END RANT)
Blame the developers. They’ve encouraged this entitled survivor mentality. None of my friends that all main survivor act like this and I’m the only killer main in the bunch. I’ve learned to move on and ignore it. Either block them or just don’t reply. I don’t even read them anymore, I have non-friends blocked from messaging on Xbox.
I actually logged on yesterday and had a message from some survivors calling me a “trash camper.” Couldn’t recall the game, because the only ones I played were on The Game and Rotten Fields as Clown and Mikey Boi and not once did I camp since I got 4ks in both with no gens completed.
They just have a set mentality that no matter what when they die, it’s the killers fault.

I’m new to the game and bought it because it seemed fun, especially the killer role. But I have really bad anxiety and didn’t anticipate how stressful it could be. My first game put me against purple ranked survivors. I hit three people the entire game. No downs. No hooks. I chose Billy and kept running into things, lol. I figured it was because I was new and they were so above my rank, so I tried again even though that experience was awful.
Luckily, after that first game, I somewhat consistently got at least two other grey/yellow ranked people. I managed to get to rank 13 with Huntress and only Huntress. But it’s mostly because new players literally run in a straight line. It wasn't long before I ended up encountering people who knew how to dodge, and I realized I’m a terrible Huntress. It's kind of amazing how bad I am at hitting targets.
I'm thinking about maining a different killer. So, how long did it take you guys to get to a point where you were at least semi-confident in yourself? Who did you start out with?
I’m not complaining about being bad, by the way. I didn’t expect to be a pro on my first few tries, and I sincerely don’t care about losing. I'm just asking because I feel extraordinarily bad. Like, worse than average. And it's kind of discouraging. It would just be nice to know about everyone else's journey into becoming a decent killer main.
And, side note, I really wish they had a tutorial mode for each killer.
My suggestion is watch YT videos on playing Killer. It takes a bit of practice but the biggest downfall to killers is patience. When you get frustrated, and it happens to me often, you tend to throw the game out of spite without realizing it. In the current state of the game, you can fly through games as a killer so just have patience and realize not every game will end with 3-4k.

You sort of need a clear definition of kill rate for this game.
Dc? Hook suicide? Bled out because couldn’t be found? EGC?
I mean to be fair, a killer can get trolled an entire game and get 2-3 people and that’s a 50-75% kill rate in that game. Doesn’t mean the killer did good, because he could’ve been bullied. It’s very obvious killers are the neglected side in this game.

It's probably not the most helpful tip, but don't sweat it. Everyone has bad matches. You will lose from time to time. If someone really wants to be a sore winner, I just drop them a 'gg' and move on. It really puts the spotlight on them and makes them look bad at that point, and the other guys in the lobby will usually shoot a 'gg' right back. Most people are nice and just won't say 'gg' because they don't want to rub in the fact that they've won. When all is said and done, there's nothing that matters less than what that one guy thinks about that one match.
TL;DR: Every loses. Don't worry about it.
Or, get this, make it much more welcoming and introducing for people to play killer and your matchmaking wouldn’t be so #########.

I appreciate your opinion, but I stand by mine. For me, if I am patient with the devs, I get rewarded. If I'm not,I'm making quick assumptions and then I realize I fked up. Happened to me on this website. 90% of the killer mains are mad about the ruin changes, but it got me wondered. What if,they want to release such a powerful killer slowdown perk, that combined with old ruin it would be the most op combo?
So I decided I'll wait, if the next chapter is bad, you won guys I surrender. If it is as I imagine,then....you guys are in for a fun ride :)
Patience is a virtue.
Your assumption is the reason I see a vast majority have some sort of resentment against these developers.
If they were planning to implement a new slowdown perk, you shouldn’t nerf the current one and use an excuse that it was too difficult to fight against as a new survivor.
Being patient with developers get you nowhere, hence, the current status of the game. You can continue being a kiss up because that’s all I see from you. They haven’t released anything critical that I’ve seen stating a reasonable basis for changing Ruin. Claim the perk was utilized by a very high % of Killers, maybe look at the reason why and not eliminate an entire perk based on a high usage statistic.
My biggest concern with this game are the maps. Everything else I can tolerate to an extent. The maps are pretty much the reason I get off almost immediately after getting on. I don’t feel like going on a video game trek to reach my objective.

Thank you 😊😘
Sounds to me like you’re just kissing up.
I've only been a DbD member since about October and since then this game has become a nightmare to play.
Extended Queue times as a survivor.
Short lived games as a killer.
Abusive survivor mechanics.
Any issue/glitch resulting in miserable gameplay for survivors seems to be fixed almost immediately while I’ve been reading about a sound bug on Spirit for months it feels.
Nurse is a ######### killer now and used to give me a world of problems but only the best can now.
Survivors are constantly calling for Nerfs against killers, their add-ons and their perks, and it seems the majority of the time the Devs follow suit.
One of the most used perks by Killer, (I rarely used unless a team of Toolboxes appear) Ruin, got nerfed because it was “too difficult” for new survivors to hit the skill checks.
Maps are too large for the majority of the killers except Freddy, Nurse, Billy, and ???
Vast majority of the killers lack mobility and most result in becoming M1 killers despite certain abilities (Bubba, GF).
Doctor was just reworked and Survivors are already screaming nerf and I’m sure it’ll comes
I understand that certain exhaustion perks have been “nerfed” and certain looping abilities have been altered, but this game is seriously one-sided and I feel it every single time I play this game on both sides.
Idk what changed but since the Ruin nerf, I’ve encountered too many games with Toolboxes and where 2-3 gens are popped during, or after my first chase. I believe it’s for the simple thought that survivors no longer FEAR Hex:Ruin. This is a game about a Killer vs 4 survivors and killers fear survivors more.
So, I’m very disappointed in this development team because this game has some serious potential but some serious bias towards one side.

@Psypho_Diaz said:
I agree with OP entirely. And it's surprising how bandaid fixes for survivors are the key. Can't even play custom matches half the time.
They claim game map size is unscaleable when they could simply add at least another gen or 2 for the larger maps.
We ask for more objectives, devs worry about perks. Make a factory map where after gens are completed you have to use the factory to finish building a car to escape with. Or a harbor where a boat needs launch into the water which takes a fix time that survivors have to hide or avoid the killer until it launches.
We ask for more play styles like 2 killers vs 8 survivors (scalable maps again).
Make a map where certain extra gens power traps that survivors can use at random locations.
Jesus, use some god damn creative chances to prevent the game from becoming stale month old crackers.
I've only played it since October and it's already seeming old at times. I'm 7 achievements away from 100% this game. I've reached rank 1 and red ranks multiple times, it's just not really challenging.
Started about October myself. Started fading away from the game because it’s repetitive asf.
Join game, chase 1 survivor, 3 gens pop.
Join game as a survivor (after 10 minute wait), we either knock out all gens quick asf without intent because my team never uses add ons or we get tunneled/camped (which idc about).
Nothing changes in this game. You can play the same big ass map 10x over, try to play differently, but nothing changes the vibe without adding some refreshment. New game mode or some new objective.

What is the most ridiculous, absurd, or otherwise baffling accusation you've ever gotten in the game, as either Killer or Survivor? Feel free to share several if you've got some doozy stories.
Today, I was accused of poor sportsmanship for using my power too much as Doctor, by a SWF group of Rank 1's, in a match that I lost.
I once got a complaint from another Survivor that I wasn't being a "team player" for refusing to rescue someone who was being basement camped by Leatherface.
A Killer who was running Irid Head+Infantry Belt, who brought Party Streamers, got defensive about their generosity when they used it in tandem with Devour Hope to end the game as fast as possible. He accused us of being entitled and spoiled.
Camping because I chased a survivor around a hook or waited for the survivor to attempt an unhook. Cause y’know, killers are supposed to have a blind eye to all survivor activities.

I get they need to be faster to end chases but do they need to be as fast as they are? 4.6 with a huge lunge seems very unfair. Survivors should be 4.2 and killers 4.5. Thoughts?
Lmao the #########?

You dont need 10 survival games to become bored of survival games.
That’s not even the point of the post. This has nothing to do with being “bored” of the game genre considering I do have enjoyable moments, but probably say, 1/5 games.

If it activates it's usually an extra kill. Speed and instadown do wonders.
Huge difference between it “usually” ending in a kill and it “guaranteeing” a kill. I’ve used NoED and have had the survivor escape that I used it on. Very easy for an efficient team to cleanse the Totems during the game or during EGC when they realize it’s there.

I and a lot of people found out that after 3.5.0 patch hits in pallets became teriible. Now killer can hit you almost every time and distance doesnt mean anything for him. Now it is even worst, than it was before. But why they didnt tell us about it in patch note?
This goes both ways. Killers are not rewarded actual hits and survivors get pallet stuns or a hitless window vault.
Complain from both sides not one. I can agree it’s unfair to survivors to be hit when you should’ve stunned the killer, but all too many times I get stunned to the other side of a pallet when my hit should’ve registered. This isn’t just against survivors.

Killers can guarantee kills with noed though.
NoED is NOT a guarantee to kills. That is a huge misconception in this game.

I think you are bored of dark survival genre. Play something completely different. Try to switch to RPG or strategy. I didnt played Civ 5, but I had ANNO1404 and I really enjoyed building a city. Give your brain a new food. You just dont enjoy survival games anymore.
I play COD or GTA with my friends lol this is the only game I’ve played of this type after Deceit.
I don’t play PC anymore, this is Xbox.
