  • Rip my girl Hag ;(

She’s one of my favourites, I don’t understand why so few people play her. Might be due to her completely different play style compared to other killers which most people don’t know how to use. Once you learn she’s so much fun.

Anyways as to the actually stats, it’s very well made lots of interesting information. The one thing I could have asked for was specific kill/escape rates for each killer. To give a sense of how well each killer was made,

  • There could also be some rituals which both killer and survivor can do such as vaulting windows while in a chase. So let’s say:

“While in a chase as Survivor/Killer vault a window 0/4.”

  • Whenever I take off shadowborn after using it for a match everything feels so slow.

  • Nope, love seeing the cries of pain from the flip flop ears.

  • Try them all out and see which one you the enjoy the most. Everyone has different tastes. Personally my favourites are Demo,ONI, Ghostface, Spirit and Hag. But I’ve heard of many people who despise playing Hag so it’s all down to preference.

I'm currently running a build that I believe is decent on doctor. Its monitor, overwhelming, overcharge, and distressing. I don't know if it actually good but I use it alot.

There are problems with that build. Monitor is actually bad with Doctor since you want to use your static blast while not in a chase. This means with Monitor your static blast will have smaller radius which is anti synergy. Overwhelming presence is a pretty useless perk in my opinion. Overcharge only works against new players as later on survivors wont struggle with skill checks. Distressing is fine for now.

A META Doctor build looks something like this:

    Discordance

    BBQ

    STBFL

    Pop goes the weasel.

You can move some perks in and out but this would be overall META.

A beginner Doctor build can look like this:

    Whispers

    Sloppy Butcher

    Bittur Murmur

    Distressing

Whispers and Murmur give out information. You’ll never miss your static blasts with whispers. Sloppy butcher helps by slowing down the game a bit. Distressing has synergy with static blast which is pretty solid.

I've been playing this game for a few months now, and so far I've only been able to unlock teachable perks with Leatherface and The Wraith. I heard that the doctor is a great killer from which to farm bloodpoints from, so I would like to use him as a means to unlock more teachable perks.

I do have barbecue and chili unlocked, and I heard that having distressing, whispers, and overcharge are good perks too. Are you able to recommend any perks that don't fall under the teachable category for a new player in my position? (I know that nurse's calling and unnerving presence are great perks, but like said I don't have those teachables unlocked yet.)

So I’ll start by saying distressing and overcharge aren’t good perks neither is unnerving presence so don’t focus on those. The best non teachable perks are Whispers, sloppy butcher and bitter murmur. However bitter murmur is a bit like a poor man’s BBQ so just run BBQ instead. A great load out you can run rn oh Doctor would be Whispers,BBQ,Sloppy and distressing (distressing is usually a pretty bad perks as I stated earlier but on Doctor when you’re starting out it’s actually pretty good). Teachables you should be looking to unlock from the free killers are Nurse Calling (Nurse), Thanataphobia (Nurse), Enduring (Hillbilly), Monitor and Abuse (Doctor) and maybe Brutal strength (Trapper) If you want but it’s not needed. After all that you can make a decent build with BBQ, Nurse’s calling, Sloppy Butcher and Thanataphobia. This would be a pretty decent build for Doc.

Incase you may be interested in some teachables which you should look to unlock after this from non-free killers are:

Save the best for last (The shape- Michael Myers)

    Pop goes the weasel (Clown)

    Corrupt intervention (Plague)

    Infectious fright (Plague)

    Discordance (Legion)

    Thrilling tremors (Ghostface)

There’s more but these are some great ones.

The last thing I would recommend is to check some of Otzdarva’s videos are topics such as these as they are very informative.

got damn killers in this game are ######### sad

How? You haven’t provided any solutions. Don’t come on here and spout about something without giving any feedback as to how they can fix it.

before someone start writing like headless chicken "it's a good strategy according to the developers" I ask you to take 60 seconds to read my point of view.

I am not talking about facecamping in the endgame, but during the game. The hooked person doesnt Have fun. The other 3 survivors can only make gens and they don't enjoy themselves.

Ok, is that a problem? Yes.

If from tomorrow every killer started to do facecamping in every game, what would happen to the game? Short answer: it would die.

Long answer: more people would play survivor and enjoying the facecamping army, until no one will play survivor anymore.

In this strange period of our life (quarantine, i'm Italian) i Have played with almost 50 players.. 15 of them quit dbd for a bad night full of facecampers/ebony mori/irihuntress.

This things (like a keys) there are totally wrong for healthness of the game, because if every match u play vs a ebony mori/facecampers/key, why should u play another totally unfair and unpleasent game?

Starting tomorrow i gonna play only with purple keys (i Have at least 100) ebony mori (i Have at least 600) and facecamping. Maybe if every player starts playing in this way, the developers will finally understand that these things are a problem and that they should be fixed ASAP.

Okay cool, most of us don’t like face camping. However you haven’t provided any solutions. You can’t just throw at them “stop face camping” without any solution. You already don’t gain BP nor do you PIP from face camping. Yet people still do it. So what’s your solution to stopping it?

  • New game modes are fun ideas. However the devs have answered a question about 2v8 in the recent Q&A where they stated it that wasn’t something they were considering.

You know what TrueTalent said the counter for Oni is? Don’t get hit. Okay, yeah sure. How is that not a counter for every killer though? 😂

The counter to ONI is to deny him his power at the beginning of the game by not getting hit. This is very easily done if you just play safe. This is because before ONI gets his power he is literally just a basic M1 killer. This cannot be said for other killers. So your goal is too keep him in his M1 state for as long as possible by playing really safe. So Tru3ta1ent’s counter is correct, but you left a part out of it. This supplies ONI with a very weak early game which is his weakness.

There are a lot of cheap things killers have. Abilities are one, Mori’s are another. Free kills, free downs. Next thing you know killers are going to be granted the Option of purchasing and equipping something similar to the five pieces of exodia (Yu-Gi-Oh reference for those who don’t know) where they simply spawn in and instantly win. Where just because they spent a good chunk of bloodpoints on that particular match they automatically win. It really feels like the more you spend the better your chances of winning are, the same can’t be said for the survivors. Killers have add ons and offerings that last the duration of the match, whereas survivors items and add ons are consumable yet cost the same. Why is that?

There are a lot of cheap things on both sides.

Survivors have Keys and killers have Moris.

Survivors have DS and killers have NOED.

You can keep on going on. Recently the devs have been doing a great job at balancing the game. Recently god loops were removed and some maps were tweaked meanwhile, fast vaults no longer rubber band. Both great changes for both sides. Imo all they have to do now is rework Moris, Keys, DS and NOED. Then the game will be a pretty great spot. As for abilities? How are Killer abilities cheap? Isn’t that what makes each killer unique? The game would so stale if there weren’t any killer abilities. If all killers were just 115% with nothing else the game would be garbage and killers would have no chance.

You’re add on point is strange. Both killers and survivor lose their add ons after the match. Killer add ons effect their power meanwhile survivor add ons effect the item they’re being paired with. They both last the duration of the match. It’s just that a lot of survivor items have limited use. But that’s supposed to be that way. Should tool boxes and med kits have unlimited charge? That would be absurd. And other then keys they’re not consumable. If you exit the trial you keep your items.

You seem to be be trying to imply that the game is really killer sided when it’s not. The game is more balanced then it’s ever been.

This is offtopic but is Oni hard to play for new players? I was thinking about buying him after I've leveled Billy.

If you like Billy you’ll like ONI but you may want to get infectious fright before getting ONI since it’s very powerful on him. As for Difficulty I would say he’s Mid-High difficulty personally, but it varies from person to person.

  • I would go with something like this:

    4E6436C5-E4E8-4588-A97D-A9B5E5525A55.jpeg

Note: The list does go in order from left to right, so Nurse is above Spirit meanwhile Ghostface is high B and Doctor is low B.

If you want me to say things to nerf him into the ground, I will.

Remove blood spawns in all and make it so basic attacks will only glive 25% blood

    Remove oni's charge

    Make oni nurse speed.

Those are nerfs into the ground, I legit said 2 things that would make oni more fun for both sides.

“Make ONI fun for both sides”

By nerfing him heavily? I get complaints about Spirit and Freddy but ONI? Oni’s completely fine. Billy is still much stronger so why aren’t you complaining about him? At the beginning of the game ONI is literally just an 115% M1 killer. Play safe at the beginning and he’ll have to work his ass off for his power. Once he has his power he is very strong but there are still counters. Stay tight to sharp corners, loop around short loops and block LOS. ONI is by no means unfun or OP you just don’t know how to counter him so you’ve come on the forums to complain before actually trying to learn to counter him.

  • Personally I think he’s mid tier. I’m sure exactly what you mean by strong in chases. Do you mean his tier 3 lunge and vault? While those are powerful he doesn’t have it for most of the game. Problem with Myers is that for a large portion of the game he’s just an M1 killer. I thinks that pretty rough. There’s also the beginning of the game in which he is very weak. Getting out of tier 1 against good survivors can be really challenging if they know where you can and can’t stalk them. Though obviously he does have his tier 3 which is very powerful but survivor can opt to either split up or play immersed during it. Personally I wouldn’t him at 6th most powerful. That would be putting him above Freddy, Ghostface and Doctor who I believe are all much better. The most comparable example is Ghostface. I think Ghostface is just far better. His marking is much quicker then Myers. He also has the ability to turn off his terror radius and the ability to crouch. The crouch ability gives him something to work with in chases even when he can’t use his power unlike Myers.

  • For every salty entitled killer main there is also a salty entitled survivor main. For every thread about DS there’s also a thread about NOED. For every thread about keys there’s a thread about Moris. There’s going to be douches who don’t listen and are entitled on both sides. Pinning it just down to killers or just down to survivors is simply untrue.

  • Killer =

    Least Favourite: Haddonfield

Favourite: Dead Dwag Saloon and Father Campbell’s Chapel

    Survivor=

    Least Favourite: The game/Haddonfield

    Favourite: Dead Dawg Saloon

Overall love the Saloon and hate Haddonfield

Spirit shouldn't be able to see scratches during her power like Legion and should have a cooldown like Nurse if she misses her hit coming out of phase walk.

Makes her take a bit more skill because Spirit players have to play exclusively off sounds and get punished for wrong predictions. Run Stridor on Spirit and she'll still be an A tier Killer, but not the S tier status she is right now.

It doesn’t solve the main problem with Spirit which is a lack of feedback for the survivors. Other then the shards on her leg which you can’t even see 80% of the time there is no way for the survivor to know what the Spirit is doing.

    1. Play around short loops. Short loops are tough for the Doctor because his shock therapy doesn’t win him any distance since he’s constantly needing to use it to prevent the pallet drop. When the Doc uses Therapy he slows down so Doc’s use the therapy to deny the pallet or vault, which by the time survivor gets back to the pallet the Doc has gained distanced on them. The Doctor should repeat this process until they get a hit. Short loops however deny this since the Doc has to use Therapy more often which intern means more slow down which in the end means no distance gain for the Doc. So regular short pallet loops just transform Doc into a 115% M1 killer.
    2. In jungle gyms you want to block line of sight as often as possible. Blocking line of sight makes it harder for the Doctor to land therapy because they have to predict their aim rather then simply leading it.
    3. Never camp pallets. Camping pallets is the single worst thing you can do against him. Doctors will simply shock the pallet and then get a free hit.
    4. Avoid the shock blast is easily done. Whenever you hear the terror radius jump if you don’t want to be shocked jump into a locker.
  • A good build would look something like

1 or 2 info perks (BBQ, Whispers, Thrilling tremors, etc...)

1 or 2 Slow down perks (Pop, Corrupt, Sloppy butcher, etc...)

    So you probably want either

1 Info perk and 2 slow downs

    or

2 info perks and 1 slow down

For the 4th perk I recommend stridor. It amplifies the breathing and grunts of pain of survivor so it’s probably her best perk.

Aa for playing it’s down to practice but tips I can give is to pay attention to everything. Scratch marks and grunts are the most obvious but there’s also things like a grass moving and footsteps which are very powerful once you get good at listening and watching for them.

It’s definitely not fine. It’s only fair both have stagger. You can’t make one without the other When the killer already has a speed advantage. Besides most of these killers are humans too!

If you were to take away the speed advantage it would be literally impossible for 90% of the killers to catch a survivor. The killer should have advantages in the chase. The survivors also have their own set of advantages with pallets and fast vaults. It would be ridiculous if I recommend for killers to be able to fast vault wouldn’t it?

  • I’ll go through what I disagree and what I don’t mention I agree with. I’m also going to add an E tier to the list and remove SS.

    1. I would Spirit to the right of Nurse as at this point with add ons Spirit is on the same level.
    2. I would swap Billy and Hag. Hag is very powerful but she needs to set up and she doesn’t have as much map pressure as Billy.
    3. Huntress goes into B tier for me. There’s just a ton of stuff survivors can do to abuse her but in the right hands she’s still a monster.
    4. I would put Plague down to C tier. Nowadays she just gets cleanse rushed and ends up with little power by the time she can do something.
    5. Trapper goes down to D for me. He has a very weak early game and he mostly depends of survivor mistakes to win.
    6. Pig is C tier. I think she has a lot of potential but she usually downs survivors pretty slowly.
    7. Freddy should be low A tier for sure below ONI and Hag. He has so many tools to his disposal.
    8. Legion goes down to D tier for me. He can keep people injured but as long as they don’t heal, he basically becomes a 115 killer with no power.
    9. Doctor goes up to mid B tier for me. He’s capable of shutting down most loops in the game and he also slows down the game a bit with his madness.
    10. Clown goes to E tier for me. The worst killer in the game in my opinion. The only thing he can do is be slightly more effective at certain loops but he has 0 map pressure and 0 mobility. Chases still take a long time to finish as well.
    11. Demo goes up to low B for me. His portals allow him to traverse the map quickly and his shred has tons of potential in chases.
    12. Ghostface goes up to high B for me. I think your grossly underrating him. He has a powerful insta down, the ability to turn off terror radius and the ability to crouch. All these combined make him the best stealth killer in my opinion.
    13. Id put Bubba up to C tier since he has potential with nemesis + PWYF combo.

Thats about it so my list would look like

    S: Nurse, Spirit

    A: Billy, Hag, ONI, Freddy

B: Ghostface, Huntress, Doctor, Myers, Demo, Deathslinger

    C: Pig, Plague, Bubba

    D: Legion, Wraith, Trapper

    E: Clown

Every match from now as a killer will include momento mori, every good add-on, slugging, camping, and everything under the sun.

It's been nice playing as a low rank killer where I could afford being a nice and good sport killer, but the moment you reach higher ranks it's over.

Everything is momento mori, mori, more mori and slugging camping and what not.

I’ve been playing rank 1 killer for a while and using ebony momento like once every blue moon. You can 100% still be a nice and good sport killer you just have to get good at the game. Bringing Moris, tunneling and camping won’t make you a good player and you will see very little progress in terms of getting better. If you’re getting your assed kicked at red ranks without Moris, tunneling and camping then you shouldn’t be at red ranks in the first place.

  • I like the idea but personally I think it’s fine as it is. It doesn’t play huge parts in chases. Points of elevation are supposed to be a bit more risky for survivors. At the moment with the removal of god loops in my opinion the actual chase part of the game is very balanced. If you’re a good survivor you’ll be able to loop a killer whose worse then you. If you’re a good killer you’ll be able to catch a survivor whose worse then you. I just don’t see the point of adding more mechanics like this when elevation is supposed to be a bit risky. And it’s not like the stagger is that big. We don’t want to head in the direction of Infinite Haddonfield again.

I dunno. Honestly, I was pretty chill about it all until this weekend. Then it just never stopped, until I finally just decided that everyone is a jerk and I automatically dislike anyone in-game.

Shouldn't let it get to me? Probably. Doesn't really matter, I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a game as killer anyway. It's either I steamroll a bunch of pugs into a 4k and get yelled at, or get steamrolled by red rank SWF's into a 0k and get yelled at.

I think the last straw was a streamer in a 4-man group when I was just trying Oni out for the first time. Figured I'd say hi in their stream, and sure enough his whole team was on about, "Haha look at this ######### noob, we can just run circles around him blinding him, this guy should uninstall, lololol lets just piss him off." and when I commented that I didn't think that was really necessary he says, "Yeah it is, man, this is DbD, this is how we act here."

So yeah, I guess I let em break me. I'm pretty done with it all.

If you're repeatedly having this experiences over this weekend I recommend taking a break for a couple days. Some days you just run into the most toxic of people game after game meanwhile sometimes you run into the most chill and kind people all day. When you have those really nasty day(s) I find taking a break for a bit helps a lot. Trust me even though it seems like it sometimes not everyone is a total douche bag.

As for the streamer part I recommend observing their attitude for a couple minutes before commenting. If they're constantly complaining, being a douche, throwing insults and overall acting unlikable then I recommend just not saying anything and moving on.

  • At rank 1 there's a whole lot of luck involved with adept. I recommend bringing the killers best add ons and a map offering of your liking. Hawkins and the Saloon in my experiences tend to be solid for adept. I recommend lightly tunneling one of the survivors to try and get 3 survivors at around 2-3 gens left. Don't hard tunnel since this will hurt your chances. With the final 3 don't slug or tunnel and obviously don't camp. Take your time with them, killer too quickly might hurt your emblems. But at the same time don't be chill with them; always pressure them. Try to end your chases as fast as possible for chaser emblem. That's about all I got for tips. Even with these tips you need to get lucky so don't get frustrated if you don't get on your first couple tries.

  • A couple to fill in-

    Doctor: Archdruiddrey

Demogorgon: Bronx plays a ton of Demo

Hag: Recently Michi’s been uploading gameplay consistently and he’s in my opinion the best Hag player out there

Hillbilly: OhTofu (When Billy isn’t bugged)

    Ghostface: CeptzDBD

  • This is coming from a player who is probably around

    65% Killer Player

    35% Survivor player

Tunnelling: If a killer intentionally tunnels, it makes the game pretty easy for the killer. It’s pretty unfun for both (especially survivor) sides imo and is overall something you shouldn’t do if you want to get better at the game.

Proxy Camping: What I assume from this is staying in the general vicinity of the survivor. If you haven’t got a clue where other survivors are then this might be effective but if coordinated survivors can just freely work on gens. Overall proxy camping is a bit unfun for the survivor. I think checking on the hook every now again to see if there’s anybody going for the unhook is fine however since the hook is still a point on the map where you have a lot of pressure.

Face camping: Only times I see this as acceptable is if a survivor was a complete and utter ######### or it’s EGC and you’re attempting to secure a kill. If not then you’re kind of just being a complete prick to the survivor on hook. If the survivors have any time of coordination, they’re going to completely blast gens in no time. If you’re actually trying to improve don’t do this.

Flashlights: IMO flashlights are some of the most balanced things in the game. It gives some survivors a chance to pull off a move to save their teammate off the killers shoulders. Meanwhile the killer has plenty of counter play against it. I think flashlights are completely fine however don’t be an obnoxious prick and CLICKKKC CCLICK CLIKC spam the killer.

  • I 100% agree decreasing the grind is needed because it can be ridiculous. However I’m not sure simply increasing BP gain is the answer. The biggest part of the BP grind is getting perks. So instead I would heavily increase the occurrence of perks in the bloodweb.

These are the changes I would make:

    Teachables at:

    25-30-35

    Perks at:

    1-10: 1 perk

    11-20: 2 Perks

    20-30: 3 perks; Entity takes 1

    30-40: 4 perks; Entity takes 2

    40-50: 5 Perks; Entity takes 2

    50+: 6 Perks Entity takes 3

    Shrine:

    8 Perks

The problem with simply making a BP gain increase is that it would inflate the rest of the bloodpoint economy. There would be a huge increase in MORI’s, OP items and OP add ons. You would have Huntress’ with Iri head and Ebonies and Spirit’s with Mother Daughter-Amulet combo with Ebonies every game. Meanwhile survivors would be running why syringes and maxed out flashlights every game. Most brown add ons would see 0 play time. It would inflate the market. So if they were to add BP gain increase they would need to also make OP add ons, items and offerings a lot rarer. At Lv50 there’s an ebony like every 3 bloodwebs.

  • Less: Freddy

I get him so much and I hate it not because it’s easy or hard but because it’s boring.

    More: Hag

Whenever I play against Hag I never feel at ease, it keeps the blood going. She also happens to be one of the least played killer in the game.

  • Probably just strange luck. Doctor isn’t OP so it’s not that bad but I would see it as boring going up against the same killer for 9 matches. Personally I played around 13 matches and got 1 Doc.

  • I would put it like this

    Spirit:

    -Very ToP Tier

    -Fun

    -Decent Perks

    Plague:

    -Mid tier

    -Boring

    -Amazing perks

    Deathslinger

    -Mid tier

    -Very fun

    -Bad perks

  • Survivor:

    1. The game
    2. Haddonfield
    3. Badham

    Killer:

    1. Haddonfield
    2. Ormond
    3. Fractured Cowshed
  • Personally I never bring NOED. Getting kills with NOED just never seems to be rewarding. I like earning my kills and NOED just feels like I’m getting it handed to me on a silver platter. Progressing through the ranks without NOED rather then with has overall made me a much better player.

Biggest problem I have with it when playing survivor is you have to be sure to cleanse all 5 totems for it no to activate. This seems very RNG dependant because there’s those games where my team gets 4 totems, but are never able to find the last one due to RNG. Then NOED comes in and out best efforts weren’t enough.

  • Holy ######### there’s a thread about DS with 50+ comments every other ######### day. I don’t feel like going on some kind of tangent but here’s my problem with the perk. Using the perk to not get tunneled is completely and absolutely fine. The problem comes with the fact that the survivor has 60 seconds of immunity which they can use to do objectives. This means you could completely not tunnel someone and they could still have immunity and use that immunity to work on an important generator. And if they have a locker nearby the generator there’s next to nothing the killer can do about it. Here would be my suggested changes, if there are any major flaws you see in them feel free to point them out.

”If either another player is hooked or you begin working on an objective (Gen, totem, exit gate, etc...) for 5 seconds DS deactivates.”

You could also throw in the fact that the player who gets hooked has to be a certain amount of time after you got unhooked to fight against trading to deactivate DS. I personally just dislike when survivors use DS like cheeky ######### and do generators right in front of my face because they know they’re immune. I’d like to preference that I also believe that NOED is a bullshit perk that needs a similar rework.

  • Just like joelwino mentioned I think spine chill is on the same level as iron will when facing Spirit. It can be used in so many ways to identify where she’s phasing. Most crucial being moving out of the “husks” line of sight and seeing whatever it stays on. If it’s still on or blinking it means she’s phasing. This is a great tactic since it takes maybe going 4 meters to left or right to do. Also consider when you know she’s phasing to drop pallets on the side she doesn’t expect. When they see you drop a pallet they’ll go to the side that’s opposite to their husk, but if you drop it on the other side it can often trick them. I’ve caught even a lot of great spirits by doing this. Just like all killed s it’s about being unpredictable. Even though it might seem like you don’t have hope there are still things you can do against her so don’t despair.

  • Really been enjoying the games even before the patch. I really think people need to not take this game as competitively as often do. It’s an asymmetrical multiplayer after all, it’s never going to be fully balanced. The patch however has made quite a few nice changes. Most god loops are gone so I don’t have to go through hell when some survivors just b line for them when I began a chase. So that’s really nice. A plentiful of maps have also been made more balanced and some smaller. So overall it hasn’t been too much of a difference but I’m still enjoying myself, more so then solo queue survivor. My rankings for fun rn would probably go like this.

    1. SWF with friends (We tend to just mess around with goofy builds rather then go sweaty full team with flashlights and keys)
    2. Killer
    3. solo queue
  • Both are currently unfair and make the game too easy for one team. I equally hate getting mori'd at 5 gens right after first hook and having an entire team of survivors escaping when I had them on the edge of death.

  • You could pull off a really good play and still not be rewarded when playing the Clown. He's got no map pressure and his reload time is pretty awful. Also why is Doctor listed?

  • Ghostface is really fun to play. Love being extra sneaky and he's also good.
