I'd imagine the Aura perk and obsession perk to go well together, so you can get the Aura perk to proc mid chase. Would be great to be able to see survivors trying to mindgame you on the other side of a wall. The obsession perk, I'm actually thinking of pairing with PWYF on Wraith. Everything obsession is saved, race after the savior with a REALLY short chase, who is also the new obsession.
-
Only if theres only one survivor left.
-
@DudeDelicious I perfer going with Nancy's masterpiece with the class photo. Lets me reach out and quickly tag multiple people (expecially in corn maps) instead of having to walk up to each.
-
@DudeDelicious True, however you can mindgame your position even without the pill bottle. Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rTtr7pUe-Q
-
Id say if your going to main a killer, try going for anyone you feel comfortable using either without any addons at all or easily replaceable ones. This'll cut down on the feeling of having to blow all your BPs trying to reobtain the "Good" addons you just used after each game. I got pretty decent at Huntress for example, reaching rank 1 with her using mostly brown addons. Killers that you feel comfortable using a wide arroy of their addons are also a good fix for this. I have no problem playing with a large chunk of Myers addons for example, so I never feel like im going to run out of anything that I really DEPEND on.
-
@DudeDelicious Especially when using Class photo...i LOVE that addon
-
@HazeHound The reason queue times are long in those ranks is BECAUSE people actively avoid getting to those ranks, weather that be to avoid the long queues that they themselves contribute to, or to face off against easier opposites, er...i mean less sweaty.

@mcNuggets I've been playing since 2016 and I have managed to meet all the requirements of being able to use a purple keyall of once. And that was actually today because of the EGC change.
@Schwifty and how often do you bother equiping the purple key to begin with? Its easy to say your never get it to work if you never bother using one.
-
Its funny how she JUST came out and no one gives 2 shits about her, lol.
-
Id say to keep in mind that your going against 4 people. Too many people treat the game like theyre playing a 1v1 in turns rather than trying to keep track of multiple survivors and keep them on their toes. Try to minimize the time that the survivors your not CURRENTLY chasing ever feel safe. I feel like I mastered the art of juggling survivors by getting to rank 1 playing Freddy, lol.
Learn which loops are strong and probably not worth your time if a survivor runs to it. If you can see that a Generator is in a super safe area for survivors, dont waste too much time trying to protect it (Cronus Prenn middle gen upstairs).
Like many have said before me, dont waste too much time chasing 1 person. Often times a survivor team will have people who are REALLY good at running you around. Typically, if a survivor WANTS you to chase them, its not a good use of your time until later on. Also, often times OTHER survivors wont know which pallets their Looping god teammate has already used, so if you break chase to go after THAT teammate instead... they'll run to a dead zone.
-
@DudeDelicious Its not being overly reliant if it works. The game shouldnt punish killers for SUCCESSFULLY utilizing their power the way it was intended. This same problem is still present in gen-grabs for example. If i sneak up on a survivor working on a gen, should I wait til they notice me so I can engage in a long chase which requires 2 hits rather than just grab and hook them immediately? One way is WAY more efficient, but... doesnt count for ######### for emblems because its not considered a hit nor a chase.
-
^^^This. As it stands, people consider ebony moris one of the most OP things a killer has. If a RBT killing someone was a common occurance, that would be similar to being able to mori survivors after their first down...EVERY game as a built in power. I think the timer should stay, but an interesting buff rather would be a built in Ruleset #2. This would buy more time for the killer as survivors are spending more time looking for the boxes while the RBT is still unarmed.
-
#first world problems, lol
-
Currently, the emblem system is kinda screwy on whats worthy of a pip or not. If you get a game as killer for example where you get alot of gen grabs or 1 shots, and are able to get that 4k very quickly...black pip. If you're name is trapper and you spend your time setting traps and scooping survivors out of said traps until you 4k...black pip. You didnt hit or chase them.
To compare this to another game...
Thats like a Mortal Kombat player being stuck at lower ranks because they keep getting a double flawless victory instead of making it look close...
-
@Mochan I think the thing people are hating about "Blendette" isnt stealthing entirely, but rather the ability to be so hard to see, even when staring strait at them. The Idea that the skin is doing the work, not you. Theres plenty of perks and items/offerings in the game already allowing for a stealth gameplay at all levels of play.
I recommend checking out Pain Reliever on youtube. He breaksdown both survivor and killer gameplay and gives reasoning for his thought process. He also plays stealthy without just hiding in a bush...
-
@FireHazard Its 2 minutes total...
-
Imagine being able to do crazy things, like look where you actually WANT to look while breaking pallets or climbing through windows... Also, flashlight saves would never happen again.

@LordGlint Removing struggling from being picked up makes no sense.
If you mean by on the hook, then I don't know to be honest. I feel you should have a chance to unhook yourself as the mechanic does prove to be useful from time and time again.
Suicide by hook is going to be a thing, its nothing we can do to stop it. But if they implement a system that detects this it could punish them as such, or penalize them. Since dying on the hook is almost as bad as just DCing out right.
You should get something like in some games where you get a cool-down for dying early on in the game.
@FireHazard Yes, i meant the struggle phase on hook. Simply take away the button jamming part, which no one likes killing their controller or keyboard. As far as Kobe goes, MOST of the time ppl attempt the unhook without deliverance, its to suicide anyway.
-
@ZFennecFox Myers is generally one of the most popular killers in the game. By that, I not only mean to play as but also to play against. Typcally, unlike other killers who can feel like you got cheated in some way, a Myers is viewed as fair with his addons giving a drastic change in playstyles and typically coming with significant downsides to offset the strengths. You mentioned his fragrant tuff of hair for example (unlimited T3). That seems OP until you realize how much more a Myers has to stalk in order to make it work, and since Survivors have a maximum you can stalk out of them for the entire game, you'd have to find and stalk multiple survivors a considerable amount to activate your T3 at all. Theres more examples of the balance of his addons if you want to bring up any, but generally speaking...he's seen as fair and fun by the vast majority. Also, he's just as easy to play as on PC, so swapping over isnt really going to affect anything.
-
@baron said:
No it wouldn't. You'd see people suicide on first hook and deliberately get caught to get out of the match sooner. Punishing them isn't going to do much.
@Firehazard @baron
What do you think about "kobe"ing and struggle simply being removed from the game, unless someone has deliverence which would then give them the option to unhook themselves. This would prevent hook suicides.
-
Yeah...that only happened because the hook was so close and the skillcheck put the point so far away from the starting area... That sucks. Like Treeman said, thats not intended. Fortunately, it IS really rare the it would happen like that so USUALLY it would work as intended. I could see maybe a hotfix that limited where the skillcheck success zone could spawn wouldnt be too hard to do.
Side note... Thats a Billy. He PROBABLY has enduring...and youre in the middle of a cornfield away from any pallets or windows. I think you were probably screwed even if you got off his shoulder. Not saying thats an excuse for your perk not working as intended or anything to do with balance, just that you shouldnt get TOO caught up with your DS not working in this particular instance.

I like it, but what about the bans? Do we hit a ban threshold sooner than what its already at or later like at 50%?
@FireHazard Considering most of the time, the reason ppl DC is with the mindset that they can just hit quit and get into a "GOOD" game quickly, rather than stick out with the current "BAD" game until completion... If your stuck out of games for 30 minutes due to hitting that button, I doubt itll escalate to the point of needing to ban anyone.
-
@FireHazard Im curious how much the DC thing was taken into account when they released the data on the average kills and such. Between DCes counting as kills, and an early DC screwing over the other 3 survivors and getting THEM killed...seems like the data would be abit off.

@Trevize said:
I think It could be great if any surv that is waiting for a game could join a match where one surv has done DC, being the same surv, with the same perks and everything the same.
@Trevize Theres afew problems with that. For one, while it may sound good for you to get a backup teammate and still be playing, as anyone who plays Overwatch will tell you...It sucks to load into a losing match. Typically ppl ragequit when they're losing, so joining a game where 1 person is already dead , most of the pallets are already broken, Everyone is on death hook and theres still 4 gens to do... That sucks. Ppl wanna load into a game with a fresh start, not be stuck with someone else's losing match.
For the 2nd thing, you're saying they should load in AS that character and perks. So... if I wanna use my P3 Laurie with a build, im just not allowed to because the game decided to stick me in the body of a Quentin who's trying for the achievement of using only Quentin perks?
-
Alot of times when I see someone just about to die on hook, ill go ahead and invest 5 seconds to stand next to it to prevent any last second saves. Thoughts?
-
list is in no particular order but each killer for a different reason.
- Freddy since his power helps with tracking. Being able to keep an eye on multiple survivors lets you be able to "juggle" really effectly. Abruptly stopping chase with 1 survivor to reach out and hit another who thought they were safe... Love it
- Myers cuz his addons can completely change how he plays, its like getting multiple killers in 1
- Huntress, because I can do fairly well without relying on addons
- Clown, because I never realized how fun STBFL was until i tried it on him and was able to get that 2nd hit in so quickly after the first. His power forces survivors to endup using pallets alot faster than they normally would, which results in fast downs toward the end with no pallets and 8 stacks of STBFL.
- Legion for pretty much the same reason as Freddy, Im able to jump between targets quickly and keep an eye on where ppl are at while doing damage to the whole team.
- Bubba (Cannible), for when I wanna just relax and screw around some without really worrying about getting kills. Since his addons are mostly useless, I dont really have to worry too much about replacing "good" ones. Should also note that I dont do the insidious camping meme build or anything like that, but I dont mind chainsawing ppl who hook rush.
-
While I understand where your coming from, 2% is nothing. Thats just under 2 1/2 seconds of gen repair time. I think if it actually required survivors to complete an animation, similarly to how survivors open chests while fixing them, to prevent a generator from regressing... That would be abit better. Currently, youll see survivors actually tap a gen mid-chase, This takes a split second to revert what took the killer an animation's worth of time to start. Just my 2 cents.
-
This situation is winnable depending on addons and perks. With them all spread to different gens, especially if at least 1 gen is far from the others, you can pretty much accept that they WILL get the last gen done, and also with Adrenaline being so Meta, assume they all have it. Class photo and NOED though can help you out when that last gen pops though. Sleeping survivors will open the gates at half speed, and the class photo will let ya tag all 3. Without gens to fail skillchecks on, they wont be able to wake up easily and chances are, alot of the pallets around the map are gone by now. This is when you use class photo to sleep them all and start slugging with the NOED. Ive done this exact thing before with 4 survivors still alive in the endgame, which ended up with 4 survivors slugged and then hooked.
-
@DBD_Pinhead using dead rabbit with scratched mirror is pointless since the rabbit doesnt affect T1.
-
Yeah...having to go to the wiki to get a clear idea of what you're working with is kinda dumb. I do think some of the things people complain about though is funny once you DO see the values. Using a carburetor tuning guide and primer bulb for example for that "Insta saw". Each of those add-ons reduce the charge rate by 18% each, so 36% together. Somehow thats instant, lol.
-
@TheBretzel A thought crossed my mind after reading this. In the movie Hollow Man, it has Kevin Bacon's character turn invisible, much like the wraith, albit slower. The effects you describe from the wraith could simply be his internal parts becoming visible before his outermost skin and this comparison would also explain wraith's weakness to light, since invisible eyelids are worthless.
-
The big difference for me is just those cases where 2 or more survivors spawn together across the map from where I spawn. Whatever Gen they hop on will be finished or at least close to it by the time I get there with a killer like Bubba, assuming I go directly there. Since Ruin tends to have the best effect the more ppl are on a Gen... That helps. Someone brought up the Plague perk though that blocks the furthest gens from you. I think that would actually be an equal solution to this problem since It would force the survivors to have to move abit before being able to fix a gen, giving you time to intercept it, or wait for the perk to deactivate, which wastes their time.
-
Just throwing this idea out there... Maybe more powerbars isnt that bad of an idea. I dont understand the idea of "it cant kill them" being the reason behind your argument for why Legion shouldnt have one. Him being able to endlessly sprint to all gens til he can spot someone working on one would be abit much, although admittedly pretty cool. Ive been using Legion quite abit after his rework, and I think a big part of him is using his power when its appropriate. Yes, you can use it as simple mobility like Billy to cross the map, but maybe end it early to give it time to recharge if you feel like youll need it soon.
That being the case though, what do you think of a similar Power bar on Nurse? One that starts to regen after not using her power for afew seconds but takes a chunk of the total bar for each blink. Doing this could also add more use for her addons. Ive heard alot of people claim its her addons thats a big reason why shes "OP". If her extra range addons used up more powerbar for example... Could also have addons that either make her have a larger powerbar, aka more blinks per full bar, or recharge faster. Just a thought.

Give survivor the option to let the entity kill them on the spot instead of leave game. So at least the killer gets the sacrifice and survivors dont have to wait if they're being plugged. This will help slightly with DC's in general. (On the killer side at least, not for the remaining survivors)
This^^^ I feel like having a button prompt simmilar to dead hard that pops up after being slugged for abit and being the last person would be fine. Think it should also give the killer their last BBQ stack if they havent gotten it from you yet though so survivors cant spam said button in the attempt to deny a stack. Ive seen alot of survivors DC specificly for the reason of denying the killer points/bbq stacks as a last ditch effort to stick it to them.
-
Pretty sure it would go off the 32, after all... MIddle school math, lol. Bringing back PEMDAS. 32 X 1.22 + 2
-
Killer must not pick whichever Killer that particular survivor dislikes, or face a DC
also...
Killer must not find and down someone within 30 seconds of a game starting, or face a DC
also...
Killer must not try...at all...MIGHT not face a DC but will definitely be called a Tryhard

I did read your post. It stated current decision. As I pointed out, it is not the current decision but one of several they are exploring. I stated there is no reason to get worked up over something that is not even remotely official. When they announce what the final decision is for MoM, then by all means, have at it.
^^^^^ This. They announced theyre looking at making a change and gave an example of a possibility. So instead of making what if scenarios, you wait to see what they come up with, give it afew weeks and see how it plays out. Everyone likes to go overboard with what if scenerios. Assuming they DO go for the example given however...
Under your scenerio, Im to assume the unhooker has MoM and i should go for the unhooked, but i should also assume the unhooked has borrowed time and DS. Thats alot of assuming. You might be able to assume this if someone has been giving you free hits by body blocking all game and then running off to selfcare in the corner, but that also just means that guy has already wasted alot of time
-
Reading this is irritating on BOTH sides. The Gen time thing that was brought up was old as hell. Pretty sure when the game was initially released, gens took 50 seconds. That change though is over 2 years old. Yes, it was a thing but really...why bring it up. As far as nerfing or buffing perks goes, thats a nerf or buff to the perk...NOT to survivors or killers. If they buff 20 perks that are weak to bring them into a useable state, that shouldn't be an invite to count which side got more and claim the Devs are showing favoritism.
Just so people dont claim "Well, any killer can equip XYZ perk so them buffing XYZ perk buffs killers" or vice versa...
- a buff to 1 specific killer in 1 specific manner is just that, a buff to THAT killer. An example being the buff Pig got afew months ago increasing the speed she can swap between crouch and uncrouch. If they buffed 1 specific thing like that to 10 different killers, thats not 10 killer buffs. My gameplay as Clown didnt get buffed because another killer got attention.
- a buff to 1 specific perk is still just that...buffing the perk itself. Having a variety of viable perks is not a bad thing. If there was only 4 "good" perks in the game on either side and all the rest were on "Monstrous shrine" lvls of quality, but TECHNICLLY still pickable...that would be dull. A good example of this would be the buff to surveillance or Spies from the shadows awhile back to make them more viable. Think of it like this. Just because they buff 20 perks, doesn't mean the person has 20 slots to put them in. They could just want to swap out one of the good perks they already are using for another equally good perk.
- A buff to Killers or survivors as a whole would be anything that affects them even if they arnt using perks or addons at all. Increasing base action speed of kicking gens or vaulting windows for example would be an example of "Killer buffs".
As far as the argument that Legion is bad now and they shouldve added counter play without changing him... I ask you, how.The things they tweeked were with the idea of adding counterplay and alot of the "nerfs" to him were simply to balance out the "buffs". For example, they increased his base speed. If the stun time after leaving Frenzy was kept the same, it would allow the killer to get the 2nd hit in faster than before if you released Frenzy after running up to the survivor. Making the stun time longer was to give the survivor the SAME amount of time as before. I've actually been playing Legion MORE now after his change and find it quite enjoyable. Things like him having an actual setback to missing his attack in Frenzy just means that each attack should be precise. Thats not a problem for skillful play.
-
As someone who plays killer about 90% of the time...Imma say this is a dumb idea. Self care is fine as is. Only problem I have with it is how much is screws Freddy being able to wake up without using other survivors or gens, but thats more of a Freddy thing and his rework is coming soon.
-
I think hes not talking about a balance perspective saying its OP or anything but rather an actual misunderstanding of what it is. He sees his attack hit when the survivor uses it toward him but no damage is done. Dead hard is more than just a short burst of speed, but rather a handful of invincibility frames. As far as logic goes, i just think of it as the survivor rolling their shoulder back so the blow glances off.
-
@prayer_survivor what are you even asking for, lol? You want to change kindred so it awards BPs each time you get hooked or something?
-
On the killer side, the emblems are kinda screwy as well. If you dont stay in chases for a long time for example and are able to end them quickly, your punished for it with a low chaser score. If you down and hook all 4 survivors so they all die on first hook, your punished. You already brought up the instadown problem. I also dont think alot of survivors realize that at the end of the game, when a killer is going sweaty for that 4k. If so much as a single person gets out via hatch, a killer's devout emblem can drop from being Iridescent to silver. 1 hatch can cost me 2 full emblem points.
-
@Mushwin Personally, ive been enjoying the change, although I have changed up my build significantly. What rank are you playing at and what build are you using?
-
I actually quite enjoy New legion. He has counter-play in the 1V1 department, and although it may seem like he gets a "free hit", its no different from many other killers and its never the hit that puts you in the dying state. As someone that played alot of Freddy, i was quite use to getting in multiple "Free hits" on survivors right as they were finished with the dream transition for example. While Legion's "wall hacks" might be annoying to play against if your a stealth player, its right there next to the Doctor's ability to make you scream and give away your hiding spot, or illusions that stare at you and give away your position.
-
@HURRI_KAIN it would, because killers would just be able to bodyblock the hatch while survivors would still be able to stand within the "safe circle". It would be a case where the survivor is waiting to be hit, not because it would make the killer unable to grab, but rather it would allow them to move through the killer and jump in.
-
@pemberley I think it ironic that the perk NOED that people usually claim is a perk that awards killers for failure, can now work even if the killer activates EGC...aka DIDNT fail at all. NOED can now work even if the killer didnt allow for a single Gen to be done by survivors.
Should also be noted that it activates Adrenaline as well.
-
I feel like this could be an interesting idea but theres afew downsides...
- Color pallet would have to be limited. Its already hard enough with some Blendettes, and if left unchecked, people would just use this option for ultimate camo survivors without even trying to make it look like a person.
- Wouldnt this mean that youd be forced to lvl a completely new survivor who has no teachable perks on their own for the sole purpose of customization?
-
I remember getting accused of camping with Freddy because a team was too scared to come to the side of the map where their teammate was because of the Freddy Lullaby. Since that was also the side of the map with all the gens...I had no reason to leave. When I finally found someone who was inching close for a save, I slept them, chased them for the 7 second dream transition as thy rushed strait for the hook and managed to get a grab as soon as the transition was over... Now tell me...If it takes a full 7 seconds for me to run to a hook...is that really camping?
-
@DudeDelicious Often times when I play against streamers, I open their streams, mute them and put them in the background so i can read the messages on their stream or even talk to them after the game is over. I remember I had a game against Tofu where his viewers were accusing me of watching his stream to find the location of the last survivor since i was constantly checking the same area, only for them to find out after it was over that i was running whispers and to feel kinda sheepish.
I understand though with how many perks and addons there are in this game, it can be hard to know the specifics of ALL of them, expecially for killers you arnt intimately familiar with. I had a game where I myself played as scratched mirror myers on lerys, only to be absolutely stumped when the last survivor's aura wouldnt appear at all. I assumed they were an absolute pro at hiding in lockers, when in reality...they were using sole survivor. I had to look it up after the game.
-
@Sairek That "Flexing" bug is annoying when you go to grab a survivor off a window or gen and instead have to just sit there for afew seconds for it to fix itself while they get away... This does remind me of a point though. The game should NOT be balanced around bugs. I saw someone trying to defend MoM the other day, not with actual balance talks of the perks itself, but saying that it HAS to be powerful since lag and ######### hitboxes are a thing.
