The idea alot of ppl have is that console players will get bullied by their PC opponites, but... We DO still get ranked. You'd naturally get sorted into a rank with other players of your skill lvl, so really... The only difference you'll likely notice is the larger player base would result in (hopefully) shorter queue times.
-
@ASpazNamedSteve would be funny. HOTFIX, desided 15% boost to everything wasn't broken enough...here's 25%.
-
While it could be useful, the reason why there's a gap between SWF and solo to begin with is because SWF don't need to waste a perkslot on stuff like this to begin with.
-
@TheMidnightRidr it boosts all action speeds by 15% for the whole trial
-
I actually think I'mma make a thread of my own for "Fake but funny bugs"
-
@Jacoby2041 THAT'LL be the next glitch, a killer perk that buffs repair speeds. After kicking a gen with Overcharge, it instantly is repaired.
-
Was Imagining Monstous shrine sacrificing ppl who go into struggle phase, or Left behind showing you ALL auras
-
The only thing I see about this with effecting gameplay is the ability to hide your aura behind the aura of a gen, due to the colors being similar. Can't do that if your aura is purple while the gen's is still red. Other than that though, would be a cool thing to add to the options menu. Maybe add a whole screen for different aura colors for gen's, killers, fellow survivors, so on so forth.
-
I wonder how many other rarely used perks are broken, but no one knows cuz they don't see use. QUICK, someone check monsterous shrine and Left behind, lol.
-
I love how ppl are arguing against bans, with the excuse of "The exploit IM doing isn't as big as the exploit someone else did". The severity of the exploit has nothing to do with the fact that you're using an exploit to gain an unfair advantage. The blades and Thana exploits, I can see ppl doing this on accident since those are fairly commonly used items. Once you find out it's bugged, cease using them. Wake up though went from a perk being used by like 1% of survivors to being Meta due to this bug.
-
I think it's funny how ppl are pretending like they don't know about Wake Up, while it's gone from being used by like 1% of survivors to a "Meta" perk in builds. that 200X boost in popularity is a COMPLETE coincidence. Unlike Legions blades which were fairly common to see used anyway, and didn't give the USER a pretty big indication that something was off, the Wake Up bug is on an unpopular perk, on an unpopular DLC. The chances of new ppl just happening to buy QUINTON, of all survivors instead of just playing the ones you start with is...slim to none.
-
It's also signifficantly harder to get killer achievements at higher ranks due to the pips changing, vs survivor achievements which doesn't change at all.
-
Was thinking this same thing. Using that combo +PWYF as Wraith. EZ PWYF stacks+ a short chase
-
Just aim for the middle
-
You're over thinking this. He's just saying the 8% total was split evenly.
-
@Commander_Riker so your target audience is killers? Your intention is JUST to tell a story? Either way, the categories of the forums make it clear that survivor related posts should go to the survivor subsection while killer related posts should go to the killer subsection. Those subsections arnt there to be some kind of survivor or killer club get together, lol.
-
Not to mention, the person MIGHT be using something like BT to give you an opertunity to escape. Unfortunately, you dont know that until AFTER you get unhooked.
-
@Spirez not THAT quick
Broken key has 10 charges, dull has 5 and skeleton has 20
-
Apparently the rework on Badham has started early. They now have a hole in the ground that drops you out of the map, lol
-
the effect of channeling differs with the addons used. The mind channel purpose of the key does not do anything on its own, just allows for the use of the addons. The key can still unlock the hatch of course, but only if you havent fully used up all the charges. Think of the key as a sort of battery for the addons, that can also open hatch.
-
The problem with the idea of having a bundle thats a fixed price but ever expanding is...The developers have to receive compensation for their work. At least with this game, the developer's have allowed an alternative method to unlocking DLC characters and perks. This is pretty rare if you look at others.
With a game like COD for example, if you dont have the same DLC as everyone else, the playerbase gets split and you simply dont ge to play with them. No amount of grinding changes that. You dont get to unlock a lootbox through gameplay which gives you a mappack.
With this game, the developers try to make each DLC priced pretty fairly. Ive been playing since October, and even though Ive bought several perks from the shrine, as well as Plaugue using shards, I still have over 20k. As a killer main, that means im set for the next 2 killers (6 months) before I have to worry about it, and by that time...Ill have gotten even more shards.
-
Yeah, definitely sucks when that ######### happens. Its mirrored on the other side as well when the killer gets max Gatekeeper but nothing for anything else. Just take a little respite in knowing that you at least get to keep your items/addons, and hopefully this'll be lesser once dedicated servers bring in a stricter DC policy.
-
not just that, but it would turn into matchmaking hell. The game would not only have to find 5 ppl of appropriate rank on demand, but also make sure none of those 5 ppl have blocked anyone in that group.

@NoShinyPony said:
Prayer Beads are a problem because of gen grabs. The killer can hear the surv working on a gen while the surv has no indication the Spirit is coming. Her footsteps are not loud enough to be heard above the gen sounds.
I'm not counting Spine Chill and Premonition as counters since these are perks you'd have to equip before knowing which opponent you are facing.
Prayer Beads are usually not too big of a problem for a SWF since the survs can keep eath other informed about what the Spirit is doing. That leaves the solo survs. The only thing they can do to avoid getting grabbed is gen tapping. Not a real counter since it's a big time-waster.
I'll point out when something on the survivors' side is unbalanced like the current, soon-to-be-changed MoM or insta-heals. But I also won't deny when there is something unbalanced on the killers' side.
Pretty much this. You should never be required to use a specific perk to counter a killer. These things should be able to be done through observation (what you see or hear), and wit alone. While perks might make it easier to beat a specific killer, it should never be mandatory.
An example of this is Calm spirit when facing doc. While Calm spirit makes it easier to play against Doc, in that it denies him your screams, which give away your position and is a highlight in his power, playing WITHOUT calm spirit is still quite possible with a little witt on knowing WHEN you'll scream and give away your position.
The same cannot be said for Spirit with prayerbeads. A survivor not using specific perks is helpless, unless they plan on staying away from the primary goal of survivors (generators). Whether the whole grass thing is true or not is irrelevant since not every gen in the game is near grass.
Im a killer main, about a 90/10 split. As much as I hate when survivors have broken ass ######### and tell me I need to use XYZ perk just incase it comes up... It works both ways. You HAVE to look at counter play every time you bring something into the game, not just "is this strong or not". That's the exact reason Legion was reworked. Had nothing to do with how strong the killer was.
-
2 things...
- this is the perfect example of Necroing a thread
- While the comparison of a key to a mori is...fair, The point system for hatch escapes are not. If a killer mori's a survivor, they screw themselves out of points, both BPs and emblems. For some reason though, a hatch escape is actually worth MORE points than a gate escape.
-
Right? The post isnt about camping a HOOK, but rather camping an EXIT GATE, lol.
-
Comparing Spirit with prayerbeads to a Pig is silly...since...you know...you can SEE the Pig. Even if theyre able to hide all the way to the doorway of whatever room/jungle gym your generator is at, theres still the time she has to travel from the doorway to the survivor, which is time for the survivor to see the Pig and react.
-
Itll be nice for survivors to stop being able to accuse me of lagswitching because they dont know how ping works in relation to distance. Sure, you might have just had a game with no problem, and sure your internet might be amazing but... If you load into my lobby and live on the other side of the planet...theres nothing I can do about it, stop blaming me.
-
only thing I'll add to this idea is that the key cannot be brought out of the trial, even if unused. This way, a player cant use this method to farm keys and get out via exitgates.
-
@Dathro why do you insist that his slow is not benefiting him? While it's true that he himself gets a small slow when he throws a bottle, the amount is NOT the same as the slow a survivor would get. The survivor is ALSO slowed for longer than JUST the 2 seconds you keep mentioning, since you also have to take into account the time it takes for a survivor to walk through the gas. This is why its generally better to preplace the gas in a spot you know the survivor will want to walk through, so you can fully take advantage of the time it takes for them to get out of it. If I see a survivor wants to loop killer shake for example, ill toss a bottle through the window, towards the middle-ish of the room, before continuing with the loop. The survivor is then forced to walk the entire diameter of the gas, followed by 2 seconds after they get out. Any time they spend slowed is effectively doubling how fast you are closing the distance, It also denies the use of fast vaults, further slowing them down.
-
i 2nd this notion. Unfortunately, Im pretty sure they're told due to the fact that failed skill-checks result in an increased penalty, even at 0 tokens. Compare this to devour hope, which DOESN'T tell them early, due to the fact that they arn't experiencing any downsides at all until it ramps up with tokens.
-
@Kebek If your agreeing that he's a good killer, then why change him? Doesnt that go with the saying, if it aint broke, dont fix it?
As far as what you ask, with in what way Myers excels GF...
Many of Myers addons adds completely new styles to him. While I understand your argument, what you seem to miss is that when Myers uses his t3, he becomes a threat to EVERYONE, while GF is only a threat to 1 person. last time I played Myers, I got all 4 ppl downed from 1 use of T3, with just the default 60 seconds. No one is gonna be body blocking that to deny you a hook, lol.
Compare this to Ghostface who can excel at 1v1 by shortening the chase time. Instead of requiring 2 hits, he can just require 1. Since his stalk is faster, he can generally pop HIS ability more often, giving his better 1v1 potential, but at the cost of overall pressure. Clown is another example of a killer with the same exact problem. Good at 1v1s, low map pressure.
-
Why is this post in the killer subsection instead of survivor when it's topic is survivor related?
-
I just find the title funny, as it implies you can only pick between those 2.
-
My only complaint about SWF anymore is how it completely counters knock-out or third seal. The entire purpose of these perks is to deny information, but 3rd party programs just make them pointless. I've just come to accept that they have built in advantaged that make running their own SURVIVOR perks pointless, like kindred...but being able to negate MY perks is frustrating.
-
I think the only problem with this is that, like OP said, people jump into lockers to avoid being moried. This is kinda like how alot of times, people perfer to hide and bleed out rather than allow themselves to get hooked. The mentality of denying your "enemy" BP, BBQ stacks, or in this case...an achievement... isnt uncommon.
Afew weeks ago, I had a case where the last survivor kept running to the edge of the map to deny me a hook. They were no longer trying to escape or anything, and I wasnt able to carry them far enough to get to a hook. After about 4 tries, with them wiggling off, running back to the same spot, and waiting for me to redown them...I finally just had to let them bleed out. Of course, the survivor didnt get anything extra out of this, rather they took up their own time but... They denied me a 4k on the devout emblem along with some BPs.
-
Any idea about removing the totem from NOED and making it token based or something would remove counter-play from the perk altogether. Survivors can cleanse a totem, but theyd just have to eat 1 shots if it was token based.
-
Most of the time I just treat every group equally, and play whatever I feel like playing. Im absolute ######### at nurse, but on the off chance I see someone in the lobby I wanna push abit extra... I have quite afew iri heads and moris stocked up on my huntress.
-
yeah...im gonna STRONGLY disagree with Condorloco about not unlocking the teachables. This would make those perks impossible to get on other killers and remove build diversity. If for example, you wanna grab Knockout from leatherface to try out a slug build...Youd have to prestige leatherface and lvl him all over again.
-
I'd hardly call it "punishing", but it IS quite useless. Theres no reason at all to shuffle the ranks once a month and place everyone in ranks they don't belong in. As far as getting to play weaker killers during this time goes, Id much rather have killers just rank separately. That way my Cannibal can be at rank 10, while my Huntress is at rank 3 for example.
-
Considering we havent seen his addons AT ALL... Lets hold off on speculating if hes reliant on them.
-
@InFernoZ22 If you care about lvl effently rather than actually going for BPs and such...Theres a video tutorial for that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3r_a9QqYTY
THE TLDR of the video is to make a beeline for a perk with each new bloodweb right away to start the entity removing stuff as early as possible. From there, try to set it up so the entity will take multiple items in 1 turn and you use your BPs on the cheapest items you can.
-
@ShrekIsHot Also, on that note...You have Freddy, a man with full body burn tissue, ahead of Trapper. While You can make some kind of arguement for everyone IN that tier, with Spirit's weird facial expressions, disfigurements on killers and such... Trapper is just wearing masks cuz he feels like it.
-
@Blueberry I havent been able to play nearly as much as I'd like, due to work and dealing with a ######### internet connection. Anymore, rank reset is just kinda like a scoreboard on just how bad my survivor rank can get. Today...it hit rank 18, lol.
-
@Blueberry I feel like thats more a case afew days AFTER reset, if you havent been able to play to get your rank up yet. Otherwise your just facing the same people you were before since their rank also got reset. Alot of times, I cant really play til the weekend, so if rank reset happens on a Tuesday... the ranks have had time to kinda stabilize by the time I get on.
-
@ShrekIsHot Isnt Bubba wearing Masks due to dis-figuration though?
-
@anarchy753 Typically the retort to this is that it helps the killer even if theyre not using it. The time used to break the totems "just incase" is useless toward the goal if the killer never had NOED to begin with.
MY retort to THIS retort is that alot of survivor actions are done JUST INCASE killer has perk XYZ. Hide in a locker for 5 seconds incase killer has bbq, dont heal near killer incase killer had Nurse's, ect.
-
We also dont need a reason to dissuade people from cleansing dull totems. NOED popping at the end because your teammates couldnt be bothered doing ANY dull totems is already annoying, so throwing exposed on them as well is just going to further the problem.
