@Bithard if, for example... You play against a rank 4 trapper who just happens to be on console, you should notice no difference the next game against a rank 4 trapper who uses a PC or a mouse. They both got to that same rank, one isn't magicly better than the other but someone staying the exact same.
-
@Bithard wouldn't you already be experiencing these things though, with some ppl getting higher FPS with PS4 PRO, or some ppl getting PS4 Mouses, even if you personally don't?
-
Mouse and keyboard users WOULDNT just be mindlessly beating controller users since...rank is a thing. Everyone would be placed where appropriate rank wise. As far as graphics cards offering an advantage, that's already a thing. High end PCs play against budget PCs, and PS4 pros play against PS4 classics. Letting everyone play together would change NOTHING.
-
I feel like 2 survivors sandbagging each other for the hatch should be the next Samnation video, ending in Claudette stealing the weapon from a very confused Trapper, killing her teammate off screen and getting hatch.
-
Just sucks when games just turn into sandbag Olympics over the hatch.
-
With that argument, why should the killers emblems be artificially hit for doing HIS job of making damn sure the guy on the hook dies?
-
I mean on EITHER end, whether that be camping hatch waiting for your teammates to get caught and killed, or leading killer to a teammate and HOPING they change targets.
-
Why should sacrificing your teammates ever be considered "good play"
-
I've seen ppl hatch camping with 3 survivors and 1 gen left though
-
How is that playing poorly?
-
I'm just curious now since you guys keep bringing up insidious camping. How else are you SUPPOSE to use this perk? It specifically required that you stand still, so what would be an appropriate use of it EXCEPT camping?
-
@Leatherbilly just curious, what was your leather face build in these games?
-
Once again, ppl conveniently forget that EVERY game has an endgame, even ones where no gens get done. NOED can just as easily activate with no gens done and 3 survivors killed, at the same time that the last survivor gets his adrenaline boost. But... Adrenaline awards good play and NOED awards bad I guess...
-
I like them, but then again I also main Freddy. Kinda hard to see any killer as "unviable" when you can play R1 as Freddy and do fine.
-
@GrootDude it's only a hostage situation if the only way to leave the game is to DC. Not saying it's ok or defending it, just clarifying meaning. Ppl stuck with infinite mend have the option of stopping mend, and bleeding out. Hostage situations would be like if a killer body blocks you and then goes afk for 5 hours.
-
Also gotta remember that your hosting EVERYTHING, not just the stuff you yourself can see. If a survivor hit a skill check across the map, your computer still has to make note of it
-
@IMhereRUN they'd need to be within 20 meters for the perk to affect them, and the killer would need to find AND hit them within 15 seconds.. As far as your comment on BBQ, the locker change and distortion were added at the same time. Generally if I can't see a survivor's aura, I just assume it's one of those. I'll still take a quick look around, but not much. If anything, BBQ would just let me know how little use I got of this 20 meter perk by showing me the auras of survivors not affected by it.
-
@Jesp while I would agree with you if the perk JUST prevented ppl from tunneling off the hook, too many ppl are using it to jump on gens, totems, unhooks, ect, without worrying about consequences. You can even avoid being slugged by just jumping in a locker after the killer chases you off a gen, totem, ect.
-
@IMhereRUN BBQ wouldn't help detect anyone that close, and whispers would be on because it detects the survivor you're hooking.
-
What if they just made voicecoms in game, with the option to mute yourself or teammates like COD does. If SWF can just hop on discord to get this exact thing anyway, putting it in the game itself would offer no additional advantage. Still think the whole SWF thing is kinda ridiculous though in that it completely negates things like he 3rd seal, but at least this way, you can begin to properly balance.
-
I think it should deactivate if the survivor starts working on a gen or doing a totem or something. It's not tunneling if I'm chasing survivors off the objective.
-
The amount of times totems spawn next to gens is crazy. If everyone got in the habit of cleansing a totem as they see them, NOED would never be a thing. You don't have to search the whole map for totems, just do 1 or 2 each as you will undoubtedly stumble across them in the normal play of the game.
-
The Shadowwatcher one actually seems pretty fair to me, considering it doesn't SHOW there's a survivor around or SHOW if anyone was marked. This would only really affect ppl who are waiting to rush an unhook, and then get caught out anyway. In a way, it's similar to the many perks that would only really work 1 time, like Iron maiden. After the first time, survivors would catch on to sit further away from the hook.
-
They're likely going to Nerf it down abit. They said with the enduring change, that a big reason they were changing it was cuz it made balancing stuns a headache since they always had to keep enduring in mind. Without that extra factor in place, they can find a nice sweet spot.
-
Currently, BT helps protect the unhooked person from tunneling by simply EXISTING, and encourages killers to go after the rescuer. All this would do, is take that incentive away since BOTH players are protected.
-
@jeyers as opposed to -1 with no perk at all... You get the EXTRA -1 from the perk
-
@NuclearBurrito How does Adrenaline reward good play while NOED rewards bad play since BOTH can just as easily activate with 0 gens done when the killer closes the hatch? These 2 perks are 2sides to the same coin, 1 GIVING a health state while the other DENIES a health state.
-
With maps filled with just abunch of unsafe pallets, I'm foreseeing a build using clown with Enduring to be QUITE affective. Can probably score a hit at damn near EVERY pallet.
-
@NuclearBurrito Apparently even he thinks it's stupid
-
This comment isn't even true, just something that gets parroted over and over. NOED is a powerful perk that only activates at the endgame, whether that be with all gens done, or when the killer closes the hatch. For the entire rest of the game, the killer was playing with an empty perk slot basicly. For some reason, alot of ppl will feel fine with using perks like ruin, that give you a strong START of the game, but bash NOED which gives a strong END. Just because NOED activates, doesn't mean the killer failed. He couldve killed 3 survivors and closed hatch. According to your logic, if the last person is using adrenaline, it is awarding THEM, even if 0 gens were done.
-
Unfortunately, the game isn't setup to rank you appropriately based off how effectly you complete your objected, but rather forces you to artificially farm emblem points. Hopefully they'll adjust the ranking to better indicate skill lvl, taking the abilities of each killer into account since atm, an instadown gives you as many points as a single hit while a grab awards none.
-
I'd rather them get all their money from cosmetic and leave the DLCs cheap, than the opposite
-
Really, just ANY 2 killers would be too much when you think they could just take a loop in opposite directions to pincer a survivor. Even if you manage to get all the gen's done, you still have a killer for each exit gate.
-
Thrill of the hunt
-
@Supernaut That was my exact thoughts when I got a gaming PC for Warframe. Over 3k hours and tons of gear on an Xbox account but... A pretty PC that won't let me use that stuff, QQ
-
After playing at rank 1 as Freddy and doing just fine, I think ALL killers can be played at any rank. Stop looking at the game as a 1v1 where you take turns. The other 3 will then be free to work on gens. Don't be afraid to hit and swap targets often, as this'll keep survivors off gens and often times your new target won't know which pallets your old target already used. I got really good at juggling survivors by playing Freddy...
-
@Laakeri that's when you just have to recognize that you're spending too much time on one person and leaving the others alone too long.
-
Feel like Plague's Gen lockout perk is a good alternative to ruin for Trapper and Hag. Those 2 minutes give ya all the time you need to set up
-
Doesn't surprise me. I had a game where a survivor ragequit when I went to pick them up. Made me glitch out and unable to do ANYTHING other than follow ppl around.
-
Feel like GF's problem is his tendency to focus on 1 person at a time, while telling all other survivors that he's preoccupied. As long as you can down fast enough to make PGTW work, or give the other survivors SOME reason to be nervous as their on gen's...
-
Figured it might even make sales boom. If SWF is keeping the sales up like so many ppl claim, wouldn't it be better if you could play with your friends, even if you don't have the same console? I've been telling my PS4 owning co-worker all about DBD, meanwhile I play on PC.
-
Really depends on the killer. Ruin is good for early game delay, so better than PGTW on killers like Trapper or Hag who struggle early on. PGTW can really shine though on making it hard to get that last gen done, expecially with a 3 Gen setup.
-
@se05239 I gotcha. I'm not trying to hound you for management decisions, just rather sort of discussing why there's no real reason why it can't happen, since you're initial post was claiming PC - Console can't work while console - console CAN. Even the FPS difference with consoles having lower FPS than dedicated PCs can be tossed aside when you realize ppl are currently using budget PCs (low FPS) to play with ppl using high end PCs (high FPS). The only reasoning I currently see to hold off on cross platform play is only because the devs already have a hard time with optimizing. Maybe once they can get one problem fixed, they can tackle this? I'll go ahead tag @not_Queen and @Peanits though, maybe they can give some insight.
-
@se05239 some games like Warframe often times updates their versions on different dates, so they keep their versions separate. DBD though releases content ot the same time across the board though. I don't see how cross platform play HERE would be different than let's say, fortnight, where ppl on their phones play against ppl on PC.
-
@se05239 as far as exclusives, they can simply do what other games have and make him look like a default other character, like dwight, to console players. As far as the keyboard and mouse thing... Ppl are playing with controllers against keyboard and mouse users on PC right now. What's the difference between THOSE ppl and console players?
-
@se05239 any particular reason why pc- console can't happen?
-
@shanks3042 actually, Freddy's TR is still there, even if you personally can't hear it. It is 24 meters base, and can still proc all TR related effects, like unnerving presence, even if you are awake and can't hear it. Point being, Freddy has no inate immunity to BT.
-
Depending on HOW they acted to get you killed, it can be reportable. Was the survivor pointing out your position by tracking you with bond for example? Then THATS reportable. I often times will take pity on a survivor and decide to let them live if their teammate is being useless or trolling them. Usually, I'll spare the trolled and go after the troll. While I didn't treat all survivors equally in this case, and might even allow the spared guy to escape... He didn't ASSIST me in killing his teammate, so I'd say THATS the line.
