  • @Jdsgames were discussing the rework Freddy, not current freddy

  • @NMCKE the rework will remove the aura reveal and action speeds penalty while asleep, as well as causing awake survivors to see you as you approach.

Any killers can use aura reading to their advantage. That does not mean we should give every killer passive aura reading.

It is the fact that he receives this for doing nothing which makes this skill-less. Furthermore, taking away the need for prediction for his teleportation takes away even more skill necessary.

@Visionmaker His telepotation not only has a huge tell, letting all survivors on the gen he's teleporting to exactly where he's about to be, but likely a long cool down between uses. What else could the power bar POSSIBLY be for?

  • @wisdom thanks for maintaining a civil discussion btw. Your right about afew things. Doctor illusions are not auras, they're about on par with Plague's perk infectious fright, constantly all game with no way of removing them.Survivors CAN stop feeding info to Freddy though by failing a skill check, using adrenaline, finding a teammate or using a clock. These survivors have the time to do so since Freddy isn't nearby. This also gives survivors SOME incentive to even bothering to wake up.

  • @DudeDelicious exactly... There's no incentive to wake up if Freddy isn't chasing you.

Doctor has a pseudo-whispers effect 1 time at the beginning of the game, hardly ever after that.

I don’t know the fall asleep timer so I’m going to say 60 seconds.

Every 60 seconds a survivor will fall asleep. Current that just means you can be affected by Freddy’s dream abilities. What adding aura reading would do would mean that you know the position of *every* survivor at all times until they fail a skillcheck or run to a dream object.

That is NOT like the doctor, who builds up madness for being near you, gets a single scream notification, and has to actively obtain the information or get someone into madness 3 (a lot of work on their part) with an easy escape option int he survivors end.

An aura reveal and a scream notification on top of not having to do anything vs having to do something. They are in no way similar.

@wisdom I wasn't talking about the screaming from survivors but rather the doctor illusions that are permanantly spawning to stare at them, even in lockers. Compare this to survivors who are not in any current danger being the only ones who's auras are being revealed and CAN turn it off with a plethora of methods now.

Do you honestly believe that Freddy, without doing anything, should simply know where all survivors are at all times?

His rework makes it so that survivors fall asleep over time passively. If you keep the aura reading aspect without changing anything else from what we know, that simply gives the nightmare free information on where survivors are at all points in the game for simply playing the game

Information as to where survivors are is HUGE. You mentioned A Nurses calling? Yea that’s one of the most popular perks in the game for a reason. BBQ too. There is no denying that aura reading is powerful.

In fedddys current state, it’s probably the greatest thing about him, yet he still has to go and find survivors first to get that aura reading.

I don’t want to assume you are suggesting that Freddy deserves to just see where survivors are every x seconds when they fall asleep, so I would like to know, what do you believe is a good way to implement the aura reading in Freddy’s current power rework, or do you believe that it’s okay for a killer to simply know where survivors are for free (which to me would sound fairly bias if that was your stance )

@wisdom ok, about your points. 2 things... Doctor says hi. Being around him long enough gives away position, and once you hit madness 2... The position reveal is permanent all game. With Freddy, this info is used for survivors NOT BEING CHASED. They're the ones who can just interact with the new clocks to turn it off.

  • @Mat_Sella they introduced new ways to wake up, as well as removed the sleep action speeds penalty.

You only ever see that load out the first like... 3 tims you play against a killer.

the issue is there are a lot of things that are complicated about freddy’s Power for more than just a few players.

On Facebook about a month ago, someone asked if Freddy could see you outside of his terror radius. UNIRONICALLY half of the people who commented on that question said no.

And when you play Freddy, you can see more than one person who clearly doesn’t understand how it works, and those are 100% of the games you win as Freddy.

Having a reminder of how his ability works pop up like 3 times, only maybe one of those times telling you that’s how it works, it isn’t enough for most players in a “casual” game.

That and really the aura reading is dumb. Even if you understand how it works, there is no reason to have a killer that straight up just knows where you are at all times, especially with the rework just sleeping everyone for free.

@wisdom Just because you may have a better understanding of other aura reading, like nurses calling, doesn't mean you should REMOVE the effect from things due to ppl not reading the information provided to them. If they claimed it was removed because they felt he already had alot going for him, and was due to balance, sure. But to remove it when it SHOULD be a given that he has aura reading, expecially when you have perks and add-ons, like BBQ and Scratched mirror, that also require the knowledge of how to counter it WITHOUT being immediately obvious the killer is using it...makes 0 sense. The games page on Freddy TELLS YOU what dream demon does, whereas unless you yourself have BBQ or scratched mirror, you'd have to look outside the game for that knowledge.

  • @Visionmaker not saying he DOES or DOESNT. I'm saying the reason given is completely asinine.

  • @NMCKE anyone who reads about the killers powers IN GAME would know each killers quirks. This is like taking away corrupt purge cuz someone didn't know the downside of purifying at fountains.

  • @SpacingLlamas my big gripe isn't the removal, but rather the REASON for it.

  • @SpacingLlamas it's the only aura reading in the game you can be 100% SURE the killer has though.

  • I dunno... Imagine this with autodidact...

  • @gantes rbt push the survivors WEARING the traps off gens, but if something like this was also implimented, that survivors teammates might be inclined to hold off popping more gens while someone has a helmet.

  • Also, we don't need a 1 for 1 nerfing trade-off for balance sake. This isn't trading cards with "I'll trade you 1 useless endgame reverse beartrap for 1 MoM Nerf".

  • Nerfing overpowered things to make a healthier game is not a bad thing, no matter which side gets it, with an example of that being Sprint burst 1.0. Treating the existence of bugs and exploits as if they were intended features is also Abit...skewed. the moonwalking Legion thing was not at all intended gameplay, and did indeed get resolved. You can't complain about them not taking action on something, and in the same breath complain when they DO take action that it wasn't quick enough.

  • @gantes I feel like getting squashed by an experienced player on their very first game might drive ppl away...

  • Agreed. Unfortunately it's not even consistant. Moderate increase in hillbillies chainsaw and moderate increase in a toolbox's repair speed are different numbers for example.

Your logic is so beautiful. I can't understand why no one else can see it.

Console rank one's would probably max out at rank 5, 6, 7 save the very few truly good ones.

How is this hard to grasp???

@Justice Thanks. Getting kinda tired of breaking it down into baby steps, lol. Figured some of these guys might get it only when they actually impliment it, and they should probably do THAT on a rank reset day so you don't have ppl getting slaughtered for 10 games in a row til they fall into an appropriate rank. As for the auto aim thing, I completely forgot about that. As a Freddy main, I curse auto aim, with how many times it's made me attack awake ppl who are standing next to their asleep teammates.

  • @TheDuhJ ironically, chainsaw curving is tied to "controller sensitivity" on PC, NOT mouse sensitivity

  • @FireHazard I understand it's different, just saying the game isn't gonna put ppl together at the same rank if one side is gonna be a slaughter fest.

  • @TheDuhJ PC rank 20s are apparently gonna slaughtering all the console rank 1s, lol. I'll let my GF know she's gonna go pro as soon as she learns how to run while looking backward as a survivor, lol.

  • @FireHazard yeah, if you take the players CURRENTLY at rank 10 on console vs the ones CURRENTLY rank 10 on PC, would probably be lopsided. The thing I'm getting at is they wouldn't be matched up by CURRENT rank.

  • @FireHazard no doubt, I'm not saying they wouldn't. I'm saying "pro PC players" would never face ppl they're going to stomp. Ranks would prevent it. If a killer is out of your league, no matter the platform, they're going to naturally be a different rank than you.

  • Who's upvoting like ALL my posts?

  • @ermsy ok, so...for the sake of conversation let's say 10. Wouldn't that mean if you combined everyone, that specific killer would be rank 10 as well as the survivors he NORMALLY faces.

  • @ermsy bare with me here, I'mma go back real quick. If you had a rank 1 console killer, which PC survivor rank do you think would be appropriate to face him? Maybe some PC rank 7 survivors? Or other...

  • So, PC rank 20>console rank 1? @ermsy

  • @ermsy so according to you, there's no rank a PC user could be in which a console rank 1 would feel comfortable facing and not get stomped?

  • @FireHazard so your Console rank 1s might drop to rank 3 when the player base is PC included and start playing at a more familiar lvl. Since there's no rewards for rank...why is that a problem?

  • @Bithard I really thought that was a good analogy...

  • @TheDuhJ I feel ya on the DLC thing. When I play Warframe, I hop on Xbox because I got so much stuff before I got my PC. Tried it on PC and HAD to use an Xbox controller, lol.

  • @Bithard the name thing was a joke, it had PS4 at the end. Whoever has THAT name is clearly 12, or your new stepdad, lol. To give an example of advantages and such OUTSIDE Dbd for a sec. Imagine your playing basketball with all ppl being EQUALLY likely to score points, ect (same rank). Now imagine one of those players is 7ft tall (the advantage). Does this mean the team with the tall guy is more likely to win? It may SEEM so, but we already said, they're all EQUALLY likely to score points. The tall guys advantage might've put him in that rank to begin with, but it's not going to help him against other ppl of that same rank.

  • @Cymer afew points here, although I will say your post is pretty accurate. The "hive mind" as you put it, breaks any information denial strategy a killer may use, whether that be a specific killer or perk. It doesn't matter if you down someone with knockout, cuz they can just say "I'm at shack". If you really on stealth, like when trying to get out of tier 1 as Myers, a single survivor spotting you will alert the hive mind of who you are and to be on high alert, that their spinechill won't work yet. This is why the top killers are the ones who don't rely on trickery, but rather can just brute force it. As far as the whole viable killer thing though...I've hit and played at rank 1 using only Freddy. I love juggling them and Imagining the confused chat over VC as everyone thinks I'm after THEM, and I get that sweet 4k with a "joke" of a killer.

What evidence could you possibly have to suggest the biggest reason ps4 players would lose to pc players is because of hardware choice

@TheDuhJ even if it did, and all the console players would get ranked against each other, so even PC potato's somehow get ranked higher than consoles best... How would that be any different than right now? You'd have console players playing with other console players...oh no...

  • @TheDuhJ I honestly think the confusion lies in the thought you'd face your same ranks counterpart, and a rank 5 PC gamer would stomp a person currently rank 5 on console. If it was cross platform though, those ranks would be readjusted. You wouldn't face anyone way out of your leave, although you might have to eat some humble pie with a lower rank by your name.

  • @ermsy deranking is already a thing, and you wouldn't be facing anyone more challenging than you currently do. You just might not have as high of a number next to your name, which isn't a problem.

  • @Bithard that's just it though, it wouldn't at all. If a killer is harder to face, they'd leave your rank. Very likely, you'd have the majority of PC mid-tier players placing with console high-tier, with some of the console high tier still being able to play in red ranks. Very likely, you won't even be able to tell which ppl on your side or the other side are on which platform, unless they tell you, or their name is Ifuktyurmom69PS4.

  • @ermsy and why is it a problem to be ranked this way. Yes, if you place on PC with me, then decide to change to console and suffer from your platform, you might lose some ranks. Why does it matter if your rank 1 or rank 20, as long as it's with other ppl of your same skill.

  • @Bithard These are examples OF advantages. What would they do to YOUR game if ppl on your team and against you end up getting the same rank as you after a reset by using or not using those advantages.

  • @ermsy wouldn't be a season or 2. If ya did it at rank reset, ppl would end up placing accordingly. That's just it though, how is that bad? There's no reward to being a certain rank, it's JUST about playing similar skill lvl.

  • @Bithard ok, put simply. How do you think these advantages would affect you?

  • @ermsy that's where I think there's some confusion. For your example with overwatch, if 2 ppl using different platforms played, they'd only play AGAINST each other if they both got to the same rank, which would mean they were the same skill lvl, thus the console user would be able to handle themselves just fine. If your platform severely hindered you, youd never get to the rank to face those ppl to begin with. The Diamond tracer beating all the diamond players...would move to masters where they belong.

  • @DBDbuildsYT I don't really think a platform makes a person more or less toxic, just that it's easier to trashtalk so you might get more of it.

  • @Bithard as far as modify the game/ hacking... Yeah, that's cheating and screaming for bans. Also, you can hack a console too, but whatever, lol. As far as what you were saying before about having advantages due to hardware... While ppl DO use PCs that are weaker than the PS4, PPL ON PS4 are using keyboard and mouse and you have ppl on PC using controllers...Tossing ALL that to the side and assuming you're right... You'd be left playing against and with ppl of the same skill lvl as yourself, shorter queue times cuz the game has more ppl of your lvl in your region, and less chance you'll have a mix of teammates from yellow ranks to red on the same team. The ADVANTAGES would only be seen from the number next to your name being green/purple rather than purple/red, but the quality of the games would persist. YOU didn't get worse after all, neither did the ppl playing WITH you, you just have the ppl with advantages that you're sweating about in ranks above yours. All this being said... Is this a bad thing? Oh yeah, almost forgot. Apparently different killers are more/less popular depending on platform, so more killer variety.

  • @BembridgeScholars then how is fortnight doing so well when you can play PC vs iPhone?

  • @Bithard afew points here... First, ppl deranking is a universal problem, not a PC or console thing. About the FPS thing, I understand where your coming from. PC users just got use to it already. We have ppl with 8000 dollar rigs playing against ppl on Walmart toasters. Each will rank to a point where it is an even match for them on their given machine. I don't see PS4s as any different than a budget PC. For the sake of this conversation, what rank and platform are you on. Not trying to bash ya on either, there IS a point.

  • @Pike_Trickfoot and why is that a problem? You'd be with and against ppl of your skill lvl.
