@KillermainBTWm8 exactly...Can you imagine how creative ppl would get with a similar system in DBD?
-
@SnyprLife One reason I kinda laughed when SO many ppl were comparing Myers to Ghostface. Sure, their basekits might be similar, but while GF gets addons to walk faster while crouched and such, Myers gets addons that COMPLETELY change the playstyle.
-
@KillermainBTWm8 I havent gotten to play in AWHILE due to no internet, so Im goin pretty chill with what addons I bring. Was at Rank 15 earlier due to resets...
-
Im just remembering all the trolling done on darksouls with prewritten chat options like that on the ground telling ppl to jump off cliffs
-
@hahugow He'd have perks like "ban hammer", which activates upon being hooked for the first time. The killer is immediately banned from DBD for cheating and exploits.
-
Would it be considered "abusing" a bug if I wanted to make a build with this perk anyway?
-
Yup, i mistake Leatherface for the nurse all the time
-
I think its funny that ppl were bodyblocking back in the day WITHOUT a perk giving them extra hits. Now that you get a perk that encourages it, its just not worth it.
-
@Sentry what if instead of a flat number of seconds, it made the timer tick like 20% faster for each gen done. This would rob you of more time if they popped gens at the beginning of your timer.
-
Pretty much this. Theres no incentive for the survivors who DONT have traps on their heads to not just keep knocking gens out since a survivor can easily search all 4 boxes within the time given. If you gave them a penalty towards popping additional gens, it MIGHT cause these gen jockeys to hold off til their teammate is out of danger and the trap is removed. A common thing to see would be gens at 99%, sure...but kicking a 99% gen, expecially using something like PGTW, is quite useful at stalling even further. Stall the game long enough and survivor resources, such as pallets, gets scarce. It also should be noted that not every survivor will just KNOW which pallets their teammates have already used, leading to survivors running to dead zones. This is why changing targets often instead of focusing too much on a single survivor for long periods of time is quite helpful.
-
@gantes I never got this argument honestly since I was able to hit rank 1 and play on that lvl just fine using a Freddy without ruin, enduring or spirit fury. Also considering Ruin is cleansed so quick while PGTW cant be taken away, and were talking about a situation where survivors arnt FINISHING their gens...
-
@AStupidMonkeyy I feel like 15 seconds is more than enough to cause the killer to chase after your afterimage with BBQ
-
@Luune Dont really need that, just watch House of Wax
-
I wonder what their results were like
-
@ClogWench Having the same CD would allow them to sync up and QnQ would be countered over and over, whereas with the current version, it only can detect QnQ the first time, but QnQ has a chance to work afterwards.
-
@gantes would allow synergy with perks like Overcharge or Pop goes the weasel.
-
@AStupidMonkeyy Terry Cruise would have a perk called "Old Spice" which covers areas hes been in with false positives to trick tracking perks. Any tracking perk such as whispers or aura reading will detect his location from 15 seconds previous instead of his CURRENT location.
-
you forgot the joys of Pallet vacuum and instablind flashlights... Also, gotta love when the game ACTUALLY blinds the player with a bright white screen everytime... felt so real
-
@AStupidMonkeyy His power is his Art Pallet, which allows him to paint super realistic 3D images, such as Fake gens, that survivors dont realize are fake until they finish them and realize...nothing happened, or Fake doorways to cause Survivors to run into walls during a chase like Will E Coyote.
-
@AStupidMonkeyy That idea is BRILLIANT although...Can you imagine switching the 2?
-
I understand where you're coming from though. Been using Myer's Glass shard addon, which gives you 5 seconds of aura reading after stalking that person for 1 second. Might not SEEM like much, but on loops with sight blockers, makes winning the mindgame and getting a hit pretty reliable. This perk is pretty much THAT.
-
Id be ok with this, as long as Quick n quiet negates it, otherwise matching Quick n quiet's CD and making it useless EVERYTIME might be too much.
-
If someone can get ya with BT, they pretty much swap spots with you, and then THEY can get themselves out using deliverance.
-
-
@Killmaster As others have said, 500 were randomly picked, plenty more applied. Why should you get ANYTHING exclusive when it was just LUCK from your part and not a lack of EFFORT from the rest that put you in your position.
-
@se05239 While it may be fun, for the sake of gamehealth I dont think offerings should be that strong. Moris from perk effects are one thing, but an OFFERING that gives ya that big of an advantage? One thing though is I think Cypris mori should be basekit and count as a hook as far as emblems go, just so we get to see some cool animations and end the trial with a bang.
-
fair enough
-
In reality, its not REALLY ignoring 2 hookstates, since if the guy didnt mori you, he wouldve hooked ya for the 2nd one. The mori is just denying you the last hook.
-
I think the main thing is each of these now have perk counters to them. The survivors who complain about them typically don't want to make room in their loadout for said perks. An example would be slugging and unbreakable
-
@Justice Just because a perk is Endgame, doesnt mean its a Meme, just look at Adrenaline and NOED
-
@ClogWench Honestly, I think a good fix would be to simply rotate the hatch spawn again before opening it for the last guy, making it IMPOSSIBLE to camp it. The hatch you see when your teammates are alive disappears and it reappears in a different location. I also did a thread the other day where the emblem system could treat hatch camping in a similar manner as it treats killers hook camping.
-
Lit totems autorepairing and making you deal with them, even if you ALREADY took the time to deal with them once, seem kinda dumb. Id say if they autoo-repair, they should just revert back to dull. This way, a survivor doesnt have to keep negating the downsides unless the killer REAPPLYS them.
-
@ClogWench agreed...i hate hatch campers. They ruin the game.
-
This would also screw Freddy royally, lol. As soon as Freddy tries to sleep you, just pull out a skillcheck on demand to fail.
-
For my opinion, Corrupt intervention works best on killers who need that 2 minutes to get going. You wanna sit in the bushes for 2 minutes? Be my guest. Imma just gonna be over here spending 2 minutes placing traps with Trapper/Hag/ or possibly the new Freddy.
-
@ClogWench Addons that either have an upside for a downside, or addons that JUST have an upside COULD be considered balanced if you look at it as a GIVEN that someone will use 2 addons and by picking THESE 2, they passed up on others. Some stacking addons are by definition never going to be balanced due to each other. Flower babushka is just a strait upgrade over Mana braid, therefore cant be considered balanced with them both existing. On the other end, while Doc's shock range addons have increasing ranges, they also have increasing downsides. These COULD be considered balanced to each other. The whole idea of all this being that RARITY doesnt equal balance.
-
@ClogWench @Judgement Monto had a video on it actually, check this out
-
My pick for OP combo would be Furtive chase + make your choice + play with your food
This on wraith is scary
-
In all seriousness, this game can never really be balanced, because for some reason, ppl think addons are allowed to be OP as long as they dont pop up in the bloodweb as often. The people you use your OP as hell addons dont care that you handicapt yourself in the last 10 games using brown addons. Thats not balance. That would be similar to being allowed to having 37 football players on one side, because they decided to only use 5 players for the past 5 games. If this seems ridiculous, its because it is.
-
How bout it having an effect similar to BBQ, where it shows the Killer's aura if theyre further than 40m? This would give ya a heads up when your trying to open the door that their coming, and you should hide.
-
@MysticalMagic92 actually, not all of LF's addons are the same as Billys. Just look at the chili... Point being, they ARE free to give LF an addon that Billy DOESNT have.
-
If you use bitter murmur instead of BBQ, you'll know what door they're running to when last gen pops.
-
@wisdom maybe a Dev will offer more details here. Otherwise, I'd love to continue this conversation after the rework comes out.
-
@wisdom the only advantages I see is faster travel time across map with teleporting, and not being forced to watch someone complete an objective in front of you. We'll see what the sleep does though. Doesn't seem to have a point to wake up if it's global sleep. You'll just fall right back asleep. Well see... Original point of the post though wasn't about balance, but their reasoning.
-
@wisdom his traps are affective during chase, sure... But that's just it. If your awake when chase starts, you get slept and then deal with traps. Imagine if clown had a magic clock on the map that survivors outside chase could use so clown bottles didn't affect them while clown wasn't even chasing them... It would be completely pointless... That's what THIS is.
-
@wisdom you COULD but, you can also just SEE him easier. While awake, he'll go in and out as he approaches. While asleep... Completely visible. I'm also fairly sure the sleep mechanic to put ppl to sleep ISNT global btw, but rather around Freddy's area, like Docs static field. Probably 24m, which is lullaby range.
-
@wisdom as it stands though, there's no downsides for survivors not in chase to be asleep AT ALL. There's actually UPSIDES to being asleep. There's no reason to ever wake up.
-
@wisdom back up one moment... If you are not in a chase with Freddy, the snares and such are not a problem. If you ARE in a chase, he'll simply sleep you first. At what point is it benifitial to wake up?
-
@Jdsgames wasn't trying to be rude mate, just rather trying to avoid confusion of ppl discussing 2 different versions pros and cons.
-
@Peanits thoughts?
