My goodness. They were mad. And over what? Not escaping? Why do people get so overworked about a game? I know I have moments, as we all do, but I would never insult someones looks. I know when to step back and take a break.

After I killed my 2nd survivor, I went across the map to where she had been unhooked, knowing the 2 remaining survivors were over there... Saw scratch marks across the wall of the shack and started following them, only to see her dive bomb into a locker for an obvious DS bait. Usually I just pull em out, but theres only 2 ppl left...so I stared at the locker for a minute, lol. I think THATS what set her off, that I didnt take the obvious bait of her jumping in and out of the locker.

Even if I have a real bad game, I always do my best to have good sportsmanship and say GG.

I love Otz! I've been watching his video a lot lately. I will definitely check this one out. Thank you for sharing it with me.

NP mate. This is an example of a chat I had earlier, but I can guarantee this person wouldve been saying very similar things if they had escaped. Had afew 3 and 4 man escapes from "Bully squads" too. Dont let it work ya up too much. Just do the best you can, and even if they escape... You made em work their asses off, lol.

  • You mightve heard about the PC crossplay that was just implimented between the microsoft store and steam. Unfortunately, this is just PC to PC and doesnt involve consoles. Would be neat if we could have a similar thing implimented for playing with consoles later on. I know theres plenty of people on these forums Id love to play with.

This is what It looks like on PC atm.

    20191111001955_1.jpg

  • Dont let it get to you. Win or lose, say your GGs and move on. People who will bash you in endgame chat like this wouldve done the same even if you won.

That being said, there IS subtle things you can do as Trapper to give you an advantage. I recommend watching some of Otz's videos on him.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHJd9-tQkvo

Afew things to point out... at 2:17 he placed a trap to avoid a pallet stun.

At 2:30, he was positioning the David before breaking the pallet. The David wouldve naturally wanted to get as much distance as possible during the breaking animation. Since Otz had a trap to his right, he waited til David was slightly to the right. The David wouldve PROBABLY chosen to go right then to get distance, which he did.

  • Increase the base range of his shock abit. I honestly dont think he needs a huge overhaul, but the range of his shock is so minimal at base, you really cant use it to prevent vaults or pallet throws at loops. If you want this effect, you also need to use range extending addons. giving him an additional 25%-50% range to his base shock could really do wonders. If they wanna pull his range back abit when using addons so it doesnt have a 50 meter range or something, I feel thats fine.

  • I often take pictures of various endgame score cards for various reasons. This particular one is just a good example of broken matchmaking resulting in a stomp, which is relevant to this conversation.

Some toxic people here think safe pip is a reward.

Hiding/play self fish is also a play style. There are many people say Survivor's main goal is ESCAPE. So he ESCAPES, he completes the main Survivor's goal.

    Objective: doing gen

    Altruism: helping others

Bold: get in chase, de-power Killer

    Survival: escape

I dont get how one finish Objective & Survival deserve a de-pip because they're not helping other & get in chase. Its 50% of Survivors' game play. If they dont get in chase, they will not get better at it and eventually die more in higher rank and de-pip anyway. So whats the problem?

I feel like if the devs didnt want you to be sneaky and avoid detection, they wouldnt make perks for it. If I wanna take advantage of Technician's reduced audio on gens to pump out gens while distracting the killer's attention away from me with a well placed pebble throw... That shouldnt get a depip if I actually succeed, lol. If you WANT me to get chased, Pebble should just cause a sound explosion at my feet and distortion should just let the killer see my aura for free X amount of times per trials, lol.

A recent match would say that both are loud! I was hunting down a Nea that escaped, and could hear her getting healed. It was on Coldwind in the House, and as I walked up the stairs, I could hear a Dwight, who was also injured, moaning with Nea. I swear it was so loud I thought they were getting it on in a locker! I almost walked away to give them some privacy ?

You heard that and went to check it out anyway? You perv, lol.

  • For the sake of hiding visually, yes female survivors are smaller and thus easier for the killer to overlook. Some survivors are very noticeably louder though, regardless of gender. Ace is rather quiet while Jane sounds like shes auditioning for a porno anytime shes injured.

..what? How am I being toxic? I'm asking if he thinks he deserves a reward for what he admitted to be basically doing nothing but hiding. The reward is a pip, which he also discussed.

Nowhere in there did it say he did basicly nothing. He said he got the gens done and healed his teammates. Why does doing work to you consist of SOLELY getting found and chased? If this guy can pop 5 gens solo and get all the heals, wouldnt that mean he did more work than his teammates who only managed to get found and hooked all game, lol? Not saying thats what he DID, Im sure his teammates did gens too but...I think you get my point. He also wasnt asking for a Pip even, just asking to not de-pip.

    20191025083110_1.jpg

Due to ######### matchmaking, I had this game recently. The killer didnt get ANYTHING done and all that was left to do was power through the gens and leave. Does that mean I deserve a de-pip for not throwing myself infront of the killer to be chased, or climbing up on a hook and just hooking myself so My teammates can get some altruism points?

“-After taking a direct bottle hit, survivors can't vault or drop pallets for 2.5 seconds. This would ensure a well timed bottle can turn into a hit, and would greatly improve The Afterpiece Tonic's chase time reduction. Also, he would counter loops like the Coal Tower's infinite, The Rancid Abattoir's window and others.”

This already possible though. Direct hits do interrupt actions and deny survivors the ability to re-engage in the action for a very short period.

Direct bottle hits can interupt things like unhooks or totem cleansing, but dont stop a survivor from immediately trying them again. They also dont interrupt vaulting, but rather any action that has a bar that needs to be filled. OPs suggestion was to pretty much copy the effect of Doctors shack, but make it a skillful hit. hitting a survivor at the right moment with a bottle can be more difficult to do and can also be easier to dodge than Doc's shock. Doc would still have all the effects of madness to make him unique of course.

  • Had a game yesterday where a Claudette on my team kept farming teammates off the hook 5 seconds after the killer hooked them up. She insisted that it was a SAFE unhook, because she had BT and that it was the killer's fault her teammates died so fast because they tunneled... She made sure to be nasty in the endgame chat and blame the killer for tunneled and her teammates for dying so fast.

  • Just got this one. Felt it belonged here, lol.

    20191110131524_1.jpg

This survivor instead of trying to be at all stealthy or anything, beelined it to a locker as soon as I was within like 30 meters of her. I just saw a noise notification coming from a nearby jungle gym, followed by her going in and out of the locker afew times. Figured theres 2 gens to go, and only 1 survivor whos NOT in a locker...I can wait, lol. Apparently she didnt appreciate me not getting DSed.

  • I just play whatever and do what I can without getting myself worked up. Been screwing around with Bubba this morning, which has been pretty fun. Afew games of Clown here and there as well. If I get a 4 man, sweet. If I get beat... I still say GG and move on. Salty ppl will be salty, has nothing to do with you. If I really feel like cranking up the heat... My Freddy is always ready, lol.

I think it has to do with the fact that lunge speed is the same for all killers. It stacks with your base speed I believe, so 110 killers are technically slower when lunging but that 5% isn't too noticeable. I always misjudge Demogorgon and clown. Their size makes me think they'll be slower than they actually are.

All killers have the same lunge speed. Hag, a 110% killer has the same lunge speed as Billy, a 115% killer. This wasnt ORIGINALLY the case, but something they changed eventually.

Not at all. They are for baby killers who are just bad at the game.

Change the requirement to Mori someone after you hook everyone at least once before.

Unfortunately for Killers, secret offerings make my PC crash :(

One reason I kinda just roll my eyes everytime I see a red box on my bloodweb for Bubba. Bubba has no UR addons, so thats a 100% ebony mori. Wish it would give me a blackward or something.

  • Most of the time, I only bring a mori as a deterant. If you wanna dress as 4 identicle looking survivors to try to trick me into eating a DS... I got something for that. Of course, I dont have to actually USE it, but I can still bring it to avoid shenanigans.

  • @Dryhigh said:

Survivors should be allowed to pull Freddy out of the Dream realm and mori him

Survivors should be able to acquire a vile of Cleansing fluid to "holy water" the plague curing her and turning her into a survivor.

Survivors should be able to "exorcise" Spirit, Granting 100,000 BP and Devotion 6.

Survivors should be allowed to Mock the Clowns poor jokes.

Survivors should be allowed to join "The Legion" turning into Killers for the remainder of the trial.

Survivors should be allowed to become understudies to the Doctor learning new perks each trial.

Survivors should be allowed call the police.

Survivors should be allowed to have cell phones.

5 Legions would be just as lethal as 1, so why not, lol.

  • He actually didnt rage quit. I was doing this one weekend right before they made the change to instaheals. Ppl kept bringing instaheals every game, and I kept burying medkits under unsafe pallets.

  • Played a game with it this morning. I dont have many perks on Bubba, so I slot that in sometimes. Whacked a survivor as he threw a pallet, so his flashlight was stuck underneath it. The dumbass...ran back to try to grab it, realized he couldnt and got smacked again.

Okay, here that claim is fair. Otherwise my point stands.

From what Ive read on here, alot of people are assuming someone is always practicly living in a locker and not working on gens. Considering most gens have lockers nearby, it really wouldnt take too much setup time to tell the guy working on the gen in the shack that your coming in hot. Let the runner oop shack a time or 2, before surprising the killer with a head-on. They might suspiciously swing at a locker the first time in shack, but probably not the 2nd loop.

  • Sounds like a pretty sweet jump. Some killer powers can be used to jump gaps, you just managed to find a good use of Shred.

Oh yes, because PsychoscorpionZ who plays DBD every single weekday for around 8 hours and does it as his full time job and is a Fog Whisperer is totally a ######### casual player.

Sorry that I haven't had 128 hours of DBD to play in the last 20 days because unlike him I can't play DBD to put money on my table or keep a roof over my head.

This is such an unfair example that it's stupid.

Nobody has said that it's impossible to do the rift. People are saying that the amount of time for the average player who either has a full time job or a family to take care of is absolutely unreasonable.

"Honestly I don't think the rift could have even be completed without the challenges to help the grind.

Pity most of them are locked behind a time frame."

This was a comment up above, and why I had brought up that plenty of people are right on track. Theres actually a forum thread with TONS of ppl sharing their current rift lvl and showing theyre right on track.

    1. Plenty of people like cosmetics even if they aren't for a character they play all the time.
    2. Charms work on EVERY killer and survivor.
    3. THAT'S A STREAMER WHO STREAMS FOR 6+ HOURS EVERY DAY.

How could you consider someone who is basically playing the game as a job! They're already playing the game 6 times as much as what the devs estimate, and that's only considering what they stream when many streamers play off-stream as well. When streaming you also play back to back to back games with as little downtime as possible, most people with normal lives stop, browse the internet, eat on occasion.

If anything, playing 6 times as much for a week and a half they should be nearing the end of the rift.

Again, as you said, they're only playing Pig, or killer, which means more game time per queue as well. A survivor who is likely to die earlier in a match has significantly more queue time per hour when their matches are shorter.

We're discussing whether the rift reflects the casual player that the devs said it was aimed for, not someone who treats the game as a job.

It still shows that its plenty possible though. The example is someone who isnt BARELY making it, but absolutely CRUSHING it. If he can manage that with 1 Tome worth of fragments, I dont see it as impossible for others to do it with 4.

  • Alot of Tru3's viewers are seeing Tru3 play him more the "right" way and emulating him. When Tru3 says a killer is #########, his viewers all say its F tier. If Tru3 changes his mind, even if nothing was changed at all... Look at that, all of a sudden the killer's ranking goes up. This change in popularity has also sparked other content creators to do videos of their own (Otz did 2 videos on him just yesterday).

  • @[Deleted User] said:

To get a cosmetic they want mid-way through the track immediately?

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/505480307

Heres a Pig main, someone who plays Pig 95% of the time, so would have no incentive to buy half the rift lvls for cosmetics that arnt for Pig...at lvl 47 as of the end of yesterday's stream. Considering how much of that must be PURELY from XP... Id say its definitely possible for the average person to do it with 4 tomes worth of fragments.

  • Why do you assume people would pay to finish half of it and not ALL of it?

  • @anarchy753 said:

Plenty of people ARE at 20-30, but you're ignoring that 2+ weeks of XP progress was accidentally added to everyone's accounts. You can't base conclusions of how fast the rift goes off people who started in the double digits of levels.

and the people who are over halfway done?

Pity most of them are locked behind a time frame.

Theres actually people who are already at around rift lvl 45.

My moneys on Plague, even if shes decent shes such a snooze fest to play as and play against.

  • @sorrowen said:

I wouldn't be surprised about Huntress being next on the "unfun" list but catering to casuals who aren't retained players seldom works out.

That would suck... I enjoy both playing as her and against her. Shes got room for skillful play, as well as counters.

  • As someone who plays with STBFL often, I just got use to there always being an obsession. If you play like you have DS...you BETTER have DS. Im yanking your ass out of that locker, you dont get to pretend you have DS when you really dont.

  • When I first started playing and believed that a killer is at the mercy of survivors messing up, and can't really do anything against good survivors. Eventually, I learned that you can do all sorts of small movement tricks to throw even the best survivor off, and these YouTubers are just sprouting whatever they can to explain away how they lost Can't POSSIBLY be cuz they didn't perform as perfectly as they like to claim, and could've done better...

  • The weird part is, overwatch players typically can't stand when Blizzard decides to Nerf or buff half the cast every other Tuesday. Doing constant changes without seeing how each will affect everything is just making a mess.

If I had the money, I'd fly to California just to eat at CoCo Ichibanya Curry House weekly.

Had it every other day for 2 years in Okinawa while I was stationed there and never got tired of it.

I even tried to recreate it when I came back to the states and found a reasonable substitute that my friends and family love to have me make.

I'm drooling right now and might make curry when I get home even though it's late lol

I'm currently at Rift tier 23, with all level 1 Tome challenges done. My advice for the ones OP is still working on:

Plunder King: Bring some purple coins. I did this on my first try that way.

This Is Happening: Not too tough, if you can hit great skill checks. I brought No Mither to keep myself injured from the beginning, but I'm not even sure if being injured during the checks is a requirement.

Empathic: Pairing Empathy with We'll Make It gives you a really strong shot at this one.

Being injured isn't a requirement for the challenge. I finished that one within a minute of a trial starting from just hitting ruin skill checks. You just have to have the perk equiped.

  • I play as much as I can during the weekend. I think I'm at like 18 atm with 3 challenges to finish still. I really don't think that's too shabby considering that's about 1/4 of the rift done, almost 1/4 of rift challenges done and still have 6/7 of the time to finish. Means I'm ahead of schedule to finish the rift with that logic. I was watching a streamer this morning though who's on like rift lvl 45... Shits crazy, lol.

  • You familiar with the term "mulligan". Its a golfing term for a do-over, when you have a really bad stroke and want another try with the bad one not counting... DCing is a mulligan of sorts. They get to start the game anew with a fresh start and maybe NOT step into a trap the next time.

  • @Ebisek said:

Oh, some people think that "suprise" is some way of fun. Yes, maybe in old times when we had 6 killers with similar mechanics. That was about gameplay style. But now, its time to change our minds. Killers with Ruin+NOED+BBQ are super effective. Its time to hide survivor details in game and in the lobby. Or, start with grouping killers like "select 6 killers to ban or play agains".

blah blah, everyone will ban the Spirit. And...? We have unstable dedicated servers live and everyone cares about lobby time for spirit or another broken killers? If nobody want to play agains broken killer, maybe something is wrong with the killer mechanics.

Yes, or we can just ignoring feedbacks and forcing "naked" survivals agains buffed killers. Why not... This is way how to reduce player base from current 20k daily spike to 10k daily spike in January. But the killers will stay happy with ez 4 kills.

Once again, just like any other game... You have the freedom to select your own character, not anyone elses. If I decide to go online and play Overwatch, I accept that I might have to face any character from the roster. I dont get to deem that Im gonna disconnect if I see Widowmaker, Mei, or any other character I dont particularly like. I have to select my own character and try to make due with whatever strategy and loadout I see from the other side.

What your asking for is permission to select your opponent. "Im not picking your killer, im just picking the 16 killers your not allowed to play". Has nothing to do with wanting EZ wins, has to do with wanting to play the game with whichever character from the roster I want to pick. My selection of my character is my choice, not yours.

And what is fair on that from killer side. 4 medkid? Switch to Plague. 4 flashlight? switch off from hag to lightborn billy. hm?

Me knowing the additional item in your hand only counters an "extra" thing. You could just as easily go in empty handed and find an item while in the trial. You knowing which killer your facing ahead of time can completely cripple the killer. A Hag's traps arnt an extra piece of equipment that she wasnt REALLY depending on.
