I actually uninstalled the game a few days ago. I only played as the Killer since it came out on Xbox. I was sitting here the other day and was just like, "I don't care about playing Dead by Daylight anymore." It just wasn't entertaining anymore and so I freed up the space.
Im hoping another asymmetrical game comes along and gets it right. I'm currently enjoying absolutely crushing the Survivors in the Resident Evil Resistance beta and I enjoy what few games I can get over on White Noise 2. *sigh* This is such a tough genre to keep alive cause all the Survivors want a no effort experience or else they abandon it (take Deathgarden for example).
-
Did the rest of you get some nerf that I didn't? He's fine as he is. Turn your sensitivity up to 100% and get some aim, guise.
-
I just went to play a match cause I didn't remember there being an issue. It seems fine from what I played. Since this isn't an FPS we don't need 100% aiming down sight. Leave it where it is.
-
Am I the only one who plays Plague and actually doesn't want anyone to cleanse? I just enjoy being able to one hit everyone and leave my infection on everything. I get frustrated when I play against people who cleanse cause now I eventually gotta use Corrupt Purge. Meh.

Yea I don't understand what people are talking about. I have my headphones on as loud as they can go while I'm playing this and barely even notice the bird. Definitely not the loudest sound on the menu.

Been playing just fine on xbox, didnt really change much tbh

Serious question. So in your world what do survivors have on their blood web? They are limited to a handful of perks per web. So what else is on there? A billion offerings?
Killers moan about survivors having map offerings too and in your version they're going to have a hell of a lot of map offerings. Lots of nice Haddonfield keys for killers to DC on as soon as the game starts or as soon as they see it on the offering page.
Then they wi be on here crying that survivors have too many map offerings and they should be removed from the bloodweb and this cycle continues until survivors have nothing left.
🤷🏾♂️ I feel like there should've never been a Bloodweb to begin with and that all characters should be unique of one another. I don't really care anymore. I'm just waiting either for a better asymmetrical game to come to Xbox or til I decide to buy a PC so I can play one of the ones available there.
-
This being the only active asymmetrical game on the Xbox where I can be the Killer 100% of the time.
-
Maybe you like Huntress more. That's fine. People can have different opinions. I don't just follow the herd and say whatever Killer that everyone else says is good. I like Deathslinger more than Huntress. It is what it is.
-
Of course they're not comparable. One is a good Killer and the other is Huntress.

I'm might be in the small camp of killer mains who thinks that the Deathslinger is okay where he's at, so don't hate too much. At many pallet loops, you can shoot a survivor on the other side of the pallet and work your way around the shortest side of the loop, when the chain is about to break, you can do a full lunge and you'll hit before the survivor can vault (provided the loop wasn't too big). Doesn't work for the super safe pallets, but making his chain pull break pallets would work too well with the addons that drastically decrease his stun time.
Yea I think he's okay where he is as well. Dude is amazing once you get the hang of him. Watching Otz & Monto helped me understand that Survivors aren't very bright and will bob and weave right into your hook or into some object where you can RT them.

You take that back! Monto is amazing and my favorite DbD streamer just slightly ahead of Ohmwrecker and Otz the Psychic.

I'm gonna guess Deathslinger is next to unplayable on console compared to PC but I suppose one technique you could try and adopt is not moving your gun as much, and waiting for the survivor to juke into your sights, like you would do with Huntress. Unless you're a god, going for pop-shots isn't really gonna be viable so you might want to try and play a more patient way and wait for the survivor to do something.
He's fine on console. Some people just aren't good at FPS is all.

@ALostPuppy said:
Saboing is actually fun now, what? Nobody sabotaged things before anyway so how is it any different? In fact I've seen more people do it against me than ever. It's actually a fun thing to play against since there's no longer the constant thought of having absolutely every hook ready to be sabotaged in less than a fraction of a second, which definitely had so much counterplay /s. Now it takes some actual thought as a survivor, and if you don't want to sabo that's fine, but you should give it a go it can be fun if you do it with friends.
It's been the opposite for me. I use to have people run around and sabotage all my hooks before this patch. Now I think I've seen like one hook sabotaged since the change. I thought it would be even worse now but it's improved so far.
-
Nah we don't. A mouse is for someone with little skill. It actually takes work to learn to aim precisely with a controller. Also, as someone else said just turn up the sensitivity for Nurse. My gameplay with her got immensely better once I was able to turn at lightning speed.

It really depends on the console? Correct me if i'm wrong, but Xbox at least will not allow a keyboard and mouse input (because it requires 3rd party hardware). The devs already have keyboard and mouse inputs, but you are at the mercy of the console developers.
Xbox has mouse and keyboard support. Overwatch and other games allow the use of a mouse and keyboard so this is up to bHVR to implement.

So that goes to Behaviour then and not XBL? And from what I know reporting dcs is supposed to be useless as they have some automatic system to track those even before the penalties on PC and PS4.
Far as I know it goes to bHVR. I dunno how it all works I just use it cause it's there. I don't really expect anything to come of it, though.

There isn't an in game reporting system for Xbox is there and Xbox sure won't do anything about that?
There is in the game. You click the 👍👎 next to their name at the end of the game and options pop up. I use it all the time to report d/c's. I use to give thumbs up but since I turned off the ability for random to message me I don't want to accidentally thumbs up someone who in reality sends salty messages when they lose.
As far as you reporting their XBL Gamertag then no I doubt Microsoft cares that someone AFK'd in a game.

But you don't want survivors to carry anything into the game--no flashlights, no toolboxes, no keys, no maps, no med kits--and you at least implied not to have any perks either. You just want a bunch of potatoes you can just slaughter left and right...and what this tells me is you are simply not very good at playing killer. Maybe you should try your luck at survivor since it is apparently so easy...maybe you'll have better luck.
I never implied they couldn't have perks. I just don't see why they need to bring in items when items can be looted through the maps. I'm a great Killer. I'm not one of those Killers that sees 4 toolboxes or flashlights and lobby dodges. It personally doesn't affect me one way or the other. It just makes no sense when you look at the scenario they're in.
And, no, I'd never waste money on a game that allows you to play as the villain/monster/killer and choose to play as the normal boring human. I can do that in GTA Online if that's what I wanna do.
-
I'll have try this out. I normally only back up while reeling if I'm trying to get them away from something or drag them into the basement. Majority I move closer to them as I reel to keep the chain from breaking sooner.

Yeah, the problem is, most Maps have some sort of God Loop, and that's quite problematic when Survivors know how to use them as effectively as possible.
Oh I don't mind the loops. If I get into a chase where I feel like a Survivor knows the loops well I'll just break it off and find someone else. Even in a SWF there's always that weak link. You find it and the whole chain breaks.

Newsflash Bucky...this ain't no horror movie. If you actually made it like one where 99% of the survivors all died every time you would have ZERO survivors playing this game and where would you be then Paco? I guess playing Roblox. And if all treated this like a horror movie pretty sure you wouldn't really like the outcome. Why do gens? Killer probably likely to be hanging around those to try to kill me...ain't going near there...so instead your best bet is just hide and hide good and hope he goes away....I guess after the 6th hour of so of you looking for the four "do nothing but hide" survivors you'd get just a little bit bored now wouldn't ya?
It's not a horror movie...it's just a game based on horror movies, with Killers based on horror movie Killers, with licensed horror movie Killers, with Survivors placed in a horror movie scenario.
And yes I know if this game wasn't ggez for the Survivor side they wouldn't play cause they don't actually want a challenge. They just come to DbD to take a break from being completely obliterated over in Call of Duty or Fortnite. They know they can no brain this game and get to Rank 1 and feel like they h actually accomplished something.

I think some Maps also have their own issues that affect the game a lot too, such as the God Lop on Wretched Shop. I think the Devs should redesign most Maps to make them more balanced, just like the new Maps they've been publishing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1155242#Comment_1155242
I kinda understand why they are able to bring in Items, there are only 3 Chests per Trial, so the possibility of all Survivors getting an item is zero if no Chest Offering is burned.
Sometimes that's the way the cookie crumbles. They're given waaaaaayyyy too advantageous positions in a scenario where they should have little advantages.
-
@FichteHiro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/136898/tool-box-rework-is-pathetic
I don't think they are useless. The Devs are trying their best to find a way to make everyone happy, but since the Community is quite divided on core issues of the game, this is really difficult. The gen speed after the Ruin Nerf is already relatively very fast, so a Toolbox nerf is justified. Now their repair speed is faster, but you have to decide when you're gonna use them to get the most out of them, kinda like Brand New Part.
Playing solo queue is getting more challenging, but playing SWF is getting much easier because of the nerfs to Ruin. Killers don't really have much they can do to stop Gens from being repaired insanely fast.
Also, you are being quite destructive with your criticism, constructive criticism is always welcome, but saying the game is "trash" doesn't help anyone.
Best thing to do is to not allow Survivors to bring in items PERIOD! You come in and have to search a chest to find an item. It makes zero sense as to why they're allowed to bring items in to begin with.

I had that today playing as Doctor. Did my Shock Therapy then when I went to lunge it stopped waaaaaayyyy short like I only held it down for a split second. Thought maybe my controller was messed up.
-
Nice to see Doc is still making people rage.
-
You don't fix it. Killers tunnel because it makes our end goal easier: Kill all Survivors.
The main reason I started doing it is because you always get that one or two people who follow you around trying to bait you into chasing them instead of the person that just got unhooked. Now you have 2 to 3 people not doing gens. Sounds like a win to me.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I think deathslinger is pretty strong. Not billy/spirit tier but he's not anywhere close to the bottom killers. Maybe it's console players complaining since aiming on a controller is tough?
Aiming on a controller is not tough unless you've never used a controller before.

A mouse is still more accurate than a joystick.
Until you run out of space and have to pick up your mouse and recenter it. An issue that doesn't exist on a controller. A split second is often the difference between 1st and 2nd place.
Also it's still completely dependent on the person. A mouse will more accurately get you go where you wanna look but aim differs from player to player. There are players that can hit 360 no scope headshots and there are players that couldn't hit a static target with a rocket launcher.

PS4 runs the game fine, based on my roommates performance. People say he's "harder on console" due to KB and mouse being flat out better for aiming literally 100% of the time.
Oh that's false. What's better for aiming is subjective and dependent upon the individual user. I'd take a controller any day. Also, people act like there aren't any FPS games on consoles or something. Two of which are hero shooters that have heroes with hooks.
-
Oh! I was wondering why I never got that add-on anymore. It's one of my favorites! Glad it's back. Dunno what you guise are on about. Being able to hit Survivors behind you is nothing but win.
-
Why would anyone think he'd be difficult on console? Maybe they just meant PS4 cause Xbox actually runs the game just fine. It's Roadhog trying to hook Tracer easy.

That's still really slow. I think he should be 4.6.
As much as I'd like to agree you it wouldn't be fair for him to be fast AND be able to drag Survivors to him.
-
ITT: People who can't land Roadhog/Makoa's hooks so Deathslinger is bad.

Yep! Been waiting for Roadhog...I mean, Deathslinger, since they showed that chain dragging across the dirt last month! Nothing saved cause he has to earn his own BPs.

Not always the case, played a game last night on coldwind, Jane dc'ed after the first chase before I could even hook. Claudette just afk's and dies on second hook. All that remained was a Nancy and Dwight, so I hit them both with frenzy about three times and stood there while they healed, then I hooked each twice and had the other unhook, then we went around and they did five generators, then I murdered them. We all pipped in the end.
Just saying some killers will work with survivors in that kind of situation, provided they aren't douches of course.
Or provided they're playing the game as intended. I can't help that Survivors are so unreliable.
-
I'm confused. Why are you not collecting them as you go?
-
@Heartbound said:

Survivors just need to get good, y'know?
I'll have to give that a try in a bit. I just loves me some Doctor. Now if only I could get better with The Nurse. I cranked my sensitivity up to 100% so it shouldn't be as bad now.

Yea this would be all I want it for. It's like you saw them turn the corner then they're just gone...no scratch marks or anything. It's like they activated an invisibility perk.
@Peanits this new forum sucks, by the way. The battle I gotta go through with this thing is ridiculous.

I’m having fun. Guess I’m the odd man out.
And honestly I don’t blame the devs for not listening to the complaints, because as near as I can tell, pick a game, there are ALWAYS a loud subset of complainers. Some complaining to be sure, is entirely warranted. But then there are others ( a LOT of others) that feel entitled to change every single rule into their favor. Nothing is ever “fair” to them unless they win. If you can’t please everybody all of the time then it stands to reason to ignore the people that you can’t please NONE of the time.
I'm having fun as well. Even moreso now that I know the salty Survivors can't send me hate messages after the match which probably pisses them off even more.

They already made a sequel and it was called Deathgarden. Instead of it being geared towards making it as easy as possible for Survivors to win they did it like it's supposed to be and made the Killer the Power role. It failed because the Survivors don't like actually having to put forth even the most miniscule of effort.

It is an inescapable fact that survivors would rather tea bag the Killer than actually leave since the threat of them being hooked is abysmal. I'm just holding out hope that this game becomes something that requires an decent amount of skill not just hold m1 simulator.
I'm not too sure what else they could implement besides "go find object and take object here".
