Let's stop looking at this like its an issue alright lets take a step back. This isn't a rant from me based on past matches or occurrences. I am looking at this as creating a stronger Killer as well as Survivor.

I see this creating more on the fly problem solving skill opportunities for survivors. Putting them in a situation in which you need to work against the clock and to evolve the skills you need to act in tense moments.

And as well as improving Killers in the aspect of juggling the survivors as well as juggling the exit gates.

Changing EGC to actually be a threat raises the skill ceiling for everybody. Obviously swf are still going to be on top because of communication. But the hopes of this change will actually bring out some skill other than the Killer camping 1 survivor at the end to a mentality that he/she could still potentially have a 4K/3K/2K If you can hold the doors.

I'd like for it to be an actual threat but gotta make sure the Survivors have fun. I've come to terms with that fact. You gotta understand that, to my knowledge, this is Behavior's only successful game. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. So their livelihoods (for the time being) live and die with this game and thus they're not going to do anything to jeopardize the majority of their player base (which are the Survivors).

Your idea is sound and I believe it's fair but the Survivor side would complain to no end now that they have to immediately go open the door and leave instead of screwing around and leaving when they are good and ready to do so.

Why would I open the door if there is still a possibility of getting a survivor on the hook. There is also the odds that a whole train of survivors poor out of the wood works to body block the whole half of the map to the 99% gate.

I always open the door. If you hook someone after that then the rest of the Survivors do this thing where they're like, "Duuurrrrr we need to go for the rescue!". You just stand at the hook and watch them all throw themselves into your weapon for the 4k.

It makes sense to open the door immediately so you can get the timer going and pressures them to get out sooner than later.

  • It depends on the situation, really. I've done it before but it was solely to find a Survivor who was hiding and doing nothing the whole match trying to survive just to get the Hatch escape.

I'm totally down with working together in that case cause one thing I can't stand is people who play team games but don't wanna contribute to the team.

But you're not okay with the fact that it always ends in 3 or 4 max? When the other option with no EGC is 45 minutes of nothing because someone WANTS to waste time?

No, because that's 3 or 4 minutes I gotta wait for Survivors to finish dicking around in the exit gates before they decide to leave with 5 seconds left. Yea it's better than before the EGC when I had to go watch TV while I wait for the last troll to finally get bored and leave but it's still too long at 2 minutes. 1 minute is all you need to GTFO so we can move on and play the next game.

    @Peanits said:

I'm assuming you meant to say that the EGC should not slow down when someone is downed or hooked? In that case, no, that's not the intention behind the EGC. It's meant to force people out at the end of the match when there's nothing left to be done, not force them to leave someone on the hook because there's not enough time to save them.

If the gates are open then there's nothing left to be done. You won, the gates are open, you're free to go home now. You're gonna stick around and die cause someone is on the hook? It needs to be 2 minutes maximum, period.

  • Yes they definitely would. And this is just me going by the immediate disconnects I get when some Survivors see I'm playing as Doctor or Hag or Nurse.

  • @UkilledLegion said:

@LordEmrich no if all survivors not hook and not lie on ground collapse 2 min if 1 survivor lie on ground or on hook collapse will 4 min

Jesus! Yea that's way too long. It should be 2 minutes period. I honestly would prefer it be 1 minute so we can just get on with the next game.

  • Killers don't have any rules. Remember that.

  • Wait wait...EGC isn't 2 minutes already?

Yeah I’m referring to PS4 I didn’t know how Xbox was holding up.

Far as I know there's no real slow downs anywhere. Maybe someone who's played Survivor on Xbox can chime in but I have no issues on the Killer side.

"Even in the menu when I’m selecting killers and what not it takes a solid few seconds to register that I’ve done something and load that killer."

Although this does occur as well as while people are loading into a lobby.

  • I thought they were referencing Object of Obsession. I saw the Decisive Strike part and and thought they were just saying.

  • I've been playing since day one on Xbox and don't even know what keys look like. I've never seen one and don't know anyone has one til they hop out the Hatch with 1 gen to go.

  • Well let's be serious here....I can search the map for another Survivor or I can get the one I can see through walls outta the way now. Makes sense to me.

  • You talking PS4? Xbox is chillin right now.

I don't wanna win, I wanna play. No one here is saying "I shouldn't get hooked", we just said "hey, staring at a killer isn't gameplay"

But it is. The game doesn't end as soon as you're placed on a hook. In fact once you reach the 2nd stage you get to PLAY the mini game which consists of you repeatedly tapping a button. 🙃

  • @Groxiverde said:

If he misses a shock, you can save.

If he misses the shock on someone who's not moving then they should be ashamed they got hooked in the first place.

Having a staring contest with the killer isn't gameplay. If I wanted to stare at someone and do nothing else I'd go to YouTube or Netflix, not a videogame

Sorry but you can't win every game. You're gonna get put on the hook sometimes. It's part of Survivor gameplay. Face camping is a strategy just like all the other troll things Survivors do are strategies.

  • Yes except he looks like he's better. Although I'm biased as Roadhog is the only character I have a golden weapon on so I'm sure I'll be better with Deathslinger than with Huntress.

    giphy (1).gif

  • Are you not getting to play cause you're on the hook? That's part of the gameplay. I'm pretty sure you were also playing as you were being chased before you got put on the hook. You just didn't get to play the way YOU wanted to play.

You build a bridge and move on to the next game.

Imagine justifying the fact that someone didn't get to play just cause the game is imbalanced

It is imbalanced.....in favor of the Survivors. Gotta love when Survivors aren't happy.

does bringing good items and a 100% BP offering, only to be downed and face camped whilst being impossible to be save due to ######### mechanics sound fair to you?

    get off this forum

Yes it does. Killers don't have much to counteract all that Survivors are able to do. It's fun to see Survivors reaction when they don't get to lose how they want to lose.

  • Sounds fair to me. It's nice to have a way for a Killer to completely prevent a Survivor from making a save.

  • Or you can do like I do and immediately open the exit gate. If you're able to chase and down someone then they will be rushed for time. If they make it out then oh well there's always next game.

As a Killer you must do your best to retain control at all times. Don't let the exit gate be one more thing they bully us on.

  • No, sir! You did the right thing. Play Killer how YOU want to play. You need to have fun, too. It's not all about them having fun. I assume you paid for this game and I'm pretty sure you didn't do so because you wanted to make sure everyone but you had a good time.

  • @Flatskull said:

Chases right now are ruined by loops. As soon as you see a survivor start optimally looping you know what WOULD be like a 1 minute chase turns into 2 minutes. Especially if god forbid this wonky collission system makes you slightly slow down by snipping your sides with a barely seen rock or something while you're a big killer like Oni.

I'm hoping they're going to be generous with breakable walls since this loop optimal crap is both boring and one of the biggest plagues on chase time extentsion. Granted. Can't give the survivors stoo much crap personally for it. It's not like they got much to interact with and there's little punishment for looping.

Watch the breakable walls end up "inadvertently" causing even better loops for the Survivors.

I uh, don’t really know if it’s sarcasm or not? But I play killer too and get how hard it is to be a killer against SWF’s and why camping happens, I just don’t think camping should be so petty and toxic. If it is a joke my bad for assuming it wasn’t, if it wasn’t though, hope you understand where I’m coming from.

Nah I don't understand where you're coming from. I never have and never will play as a Survivor so I don't know how to be super cheap to get a victory that was already going to be super easy to begin with. Go do a generator and let the Killer do their job.

  • @CoolConnor96 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136790#Comment_1136790

I get where your coming from with not being able to do your objective. But still i dont think he deserved the facecamp

Oh yea he deserved it. You shouldn't be blocking or sabotaging hooks. It takes absolutely no effort to play as Survivor and I bunch of effort to plan as a Killer. Don't make our job even harder and you won't have to suffer the consequences.

  • You got what you deserved. You shouldn't be body blocking. Go do a generator like a good little Survivor and maybe you'll live longer. I wish Killers had a way to block every gen at once so you guise could see what it feels like to not be able to complete literally your only objective.

  • I'm a Killer main because I only buy games like this to play the Power role. I still play holding out hope that one of these updates will make the Killer the Power role.

Wait... I am not an xbox player, but how do you manage to write such long texts with your controller? :D

How has no one mentioned that Xbox has an entire mobile app that allows you to do everything from your phone? Heck you can even accept party invites through the app and listen/talk to the party from your phone. You can also use your phone as a remote for media and such.

I reply to all messages through the app. It makes it easier to send the "Need more salt" pics to people.

    Screenshot_2020-03-03-18-58-16.png

  • I always take a break from every game I play cause I eventually get bored of it.

Currently what's keeping me playing is the immense amount of salt that Survivors give me because I don't play by their stupid rules. Their hate messages fuel me and keep me motivated to tunnel even harder.

  • @xBEATDOWNSx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1134882#Comment_1134882

It's honestly almost as bad as Siege's community. I don't get how anyone can let a game get to em like this

Yea that's what kept me from buying Siege recently. I was reading all the reviews and it was all "toxic community, toxic, team killing, toxic, community is toxic" and I was like nah I deal with that enough from DbD.

  • Non-PC players think that the mouse has some sort of significant advantage over the joystick. As someone who only used a controller when I was a PC main I can say it's not that big of a deal. A mouse doesn't automatically make you good.

  • I actually like it cause it makes it funnier at the end of the game when I see that I just rolled red ranks and they're the ones sending me salty messages cause they died.

    @AshleyWB said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/320/J18N12WABGSK.jpg

    Here's one I just had.

I was rank 8 and went up against high red ranks with Extremely crutch and broken perks.

I wouldn't have minded if they didn't try to troll so much with their clicky flashlights, tea bagging and infinite abuse.

Apparently I'm really bad as killer because I played a match as legion and couldn't kill everyone in a few seconds.

Because they got beat they said I was lagswitching. They spammed me party invites for about 10 minutes nonstop until I finally blocked them. Not to mention the expected "trash talk" telling me I'm a baby killer, I got looped for days, I'm bad, I'm dirty etc.

This is one of the many reasons why Xbox needs dedicated servers back up. So pieces of work like this would have no excuse, no valid accusation of cheating to throw at whoever beats them.

I was that mad I only gave 1/5 on 'Did you have fun?' I was fuming. I won even with relatively bad perks though, says a lot about red rank survivors.

That happened to me today, too (the constant party invites). It was two of them that kept spamming me party invites and I believe they also d/c'ed from the game as well. It's sad, really. I've never seen a player base that's as toxic as this one.

  • Yea I give no mercy. I did give the Hatch to last player ONCE because I downed them in order to bait the last person to come pick them up. By the time the last player finally showed up they almost bled out so after I hooked the other person I allowed them to get the Hatch because I had no intent for them to be on the ground for almost 4 minutes.

Other than that Survivors can get screwed.

  • We feel bad when we have to tunnel, slug or camp

The Survivor mains posing as Killers do. The Killer mains do not.

    @Schmierbach said:

Scenario 1: Leave why are you so worried about another survivor surviving? He got downed and you didn't, finish your challenge.

Scenario 2: Why do you care if survivors get moried. Sure I understand that Ebony Moris can be OP, but do you think the 3-4 SWF members are going to feel bad using a key to leave the match after you were looped for only 3 minutes. The dev's are encouraging you to use it so use it.

Your not here to make sure your teammates or opponents are having a good time. All that matters is if you have fun playing, not them.

Finally someone that's not a blithering idiot.

Oh, oh no. My brother tried to talk us into buying that when he was little.

    $5000 worth of trains.

Oh yea it's overwhelming. I have Train Simulator on Xbox and slowly but surely it's getting there.

  • There are still people who think mouse & keyboard players have some advantage against a controller? Back when I was a PC main I only used a controller. It's not that bad. Plus you know when you win it's cause you actually have skill and didn't take the easy way out.

  • @BulletsNonstop said:

how is that even true when 4/5 people in each lobby are survivors? Survivors aren’t here to appease killers either. Without them you wouldn’t have anyone’s live to make “a living hell” so please...

Because 4/5 people in the lobby are there solely for the Killer to kill. Nothing more. I trapped you in my complex so you play by my rules not the other way around. You are literally only there to appease me and my bloodlust.

That's the biggest issue with this game. The Survivors get all the advantages when on reality they should have zero advantages. I've never seen a horror movie where the victims defeat the Killer this easily.

  • @Sluzzy said:

Until the last 3 patches are reverted, I will always disobey the survivor rule book.

You shouldn't be going by their rule book regardless. Killers aren't here to appease Survivors; only to make their lives a living Hell.

  • Because the Survivors don't already have enough ways to win so BHVR had to give them more.

  • It's amazing how nobody wants the Killer to do literally their only objective. It's like none of you have ever seen a horror movie before.

  • You wanna see expensive? Go on Steam and look at all the DLC for Train Simulator.

  • There's no such thing as camping for the Killer. My objective is to kill the Survivors by any means necessary. Survivors start every game on Super Easy Mode while Killers must play on Hard - Insane every match so what're you complaining about?

I'm hoping one day before this game dies they put out a patch to make this game entirely Killer sided like the game (Deathgarden) you guise let die was.

  • @Demogordon_Ramsay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1127570#Comment_1127570

There’s plenty of reasons you would buy Demo individually. Maybe you don’t play Survivor. Maybe you don’t like the new Perks. Maybe you never watched ST and don’t care about Steve or Nancy. Maybe you don’t want to financially support BHVR any more than you have to.

    Plenty of reasons.

Yea this. I use to buy the packs then I realized its cheaper to just buy the Killer by themselves since I don't play Survivor.

  • You play any way you want to play. Don't let Survivors make you think you have to play a certain way. They're just trying to get any little advantage they can when bEhaviour has already done everything in their power to make it Survivor sided.

    Also:

    @AvisDeene said:

Whenever you deem it necessary. Ask yourself the following:

    1. Do Survivors wait to do gens to give a Killer a chance to kill one of them?
    2. Do Survivors pretend not to see a lit Hex Totem when they walk by one in order to make the killers match less stressful?
    3. Do Survivors leave their teammates on the hook so the killer could get blood points for the kill?
    4. Do the Survivors leave the doors powered down in order to lengthen the map for the killer?
    5. Do Survivors avoid stunning or blinding the killer?

The answer is no. Survivors would do and use anything to survive. Your job as a killer is to kill them. Do whatever you have to do in order to get rid of them.

Just don’t let them bait you into a long chase. If they look like they’re going several strong loops, abandon the chase and patrol gens. Target the Survivor that you think is the most Potato like.

NO MERCY! They don’t show any, why should you?

  • Wraith is OP but luckily I'm one of the few people who know this so nothing will happen to him. He's still and hopefully will always remain the best Killer in the game.

  • It's one of the many reasons I don't chase to exit gates and ignore obvious loud noise spam.

The problem with Deathgarden was probably that it was impossible to balance. If a hunter had amazing aim they were unstoppable and then if their aim sucked (like mine) the game wasn't fun.

I honestly think it wasn't going to make it and I actually have the same feeling about the Predator game coming out. Aim is going to be a big deal and it might not be possible to balance well. I hope I'm wrong because I'm absolutely hoping it's done well.

Yea I could see that being an issue but it's possible to get very good as a Scavenger and run circles around a good Hunter just like you can in DbD.

I hope Predator and that one mode in Resident Evil do well. Also hoping Last Year makes it to Xbox. This genre seems to be really hard to keep the wheels turning long term. I'm very surprised DbD even made it this far.

  • I'm just upset you guise let Deathgarden die in favor of continuing to complain about and play the far less superior, Dead by Daylight.

You deprived me of ever getting to play it when it launched on Xbox. Now not only is Deathgarden no more but Dead by Daylight is probably gonna die, too. Thanks, guise!
