Why not just make them auto attempt escape so they can’t prolong it? I’ve been hooked next to an open gate with deliverance and Ds ready to go but just because my teammates left, two of my perks get negated? Doesn’t seem fair.

You ran out of last chances, is all. The devs don't need to keep giving Survivors every single last chance possible.

You already have a plethora of perks (Adren, DS, Deliv, etc), plus the hatch, plus keys to open the hatch early, or after the Killer closes it. Not mentioning perks to open the gates quicker, or perks to sprint faster in a chase..

If you're the last one on the map & get caught; you lose.

This is ridiculous for me because we only hear the lullaby but zero terror radius, it's impossible to know where is she coming unless she is in front of us, or if we see her from far away.

    That's the point. Quite exactly.

    1) It was made omnidirectional so you would not know where she was coming from until her terror radius kicks in

    2) It was made bigger than her terror radius because she has a ranged weapon.

It's meant to be an advanced warning WITHOUT telling you WHERE she is. Just that she is near.

Because me personally Jeepers creepers has always been one of my favorite in the horror industry and I can easily seperate the fictional monster from the real life one and still enjoy the movie cus having one bad egg around a franchise isn't enough for me to change my mind about the idea of the character

The character may be neat but Companies have to think of their image. Sadly, the IP has a convicted pedophile who worked on the movies.

If they add Jeepers to the games, someone make take issue with that fact. This is something a public figure, or company, as think about before doing something.

Its pretty stupid, specially in a game that 2 hits take you down, we are not deaf so we can have a sense of audio direction, killer has BBQ so there is no counter for us, at some point people will get tired of this and will quit the game.

There are more survivors than killers playing, thats a fact.

Once again. SHE IS DISORIENTING YOUR CHARACTER.

Since they can't actually physically disorient the player, they use small 'cheats', like making the sound omni-directional.

Just like how the screen wobbles for people hit by the Clown power; they can't make YOU get drugged, so they fake the effects by changing your screen.

Stop with his 'there's more Survivors' threats bullcrap I've been seeing the past few days. That's the threat of a 12 year old latching onto any reason to get his own way. Grow the hell up.

If anyone quits because they can't hear which direction the huntress is coming from. If they quite over so tiny a detail; Dead By Daylight was not for them. Bye. Have fun elsewhere.

My thing is they have Freddy who is a fictional pedophile, and also they should not just disregard a great possible character due to what sick actions a director took like 30 years ago. Cus I mean who wouldn't want to fly around and/or throw bellybutton shurikans at survivors? And as stated above they could just not use any affiliation with the movie and push towards the book.

    Freddy is a FAKE person.

The directer is a real person.

They may not want to accociate with the real person in any way.

Its not that I don't like it, it just makes no sense and its a bit dumb. I mean with Freddy it makes sense because its the dreamworld its his environment. He's in control. If he wants to mindfuck you with sounds he can.

Huntress should not be able to that. She making a sound with her mouth how is it explained that she can transfer that sound to a different location? Did her mother teach her?

You're trying to apply logic to a game.

If anything, the excuse can be 'The Entity Did It'. It empowered her so that her humming disorients Survivors, and thus they don't know exactly where it's coming from.

It's fine. They're not going to change it, and it makes perfect sense in terms of game lore. You're just trying to add 'real world' logic. Stop.

  • No. The director is apparently a convicted pedo. They won't want to give him money for his IP.

Huntress should not be able to that. She making a sound with her mouth how is it explained that she can transfer that sound to a different location? Did her mother teach her?

..The Entity gave her the power?

I mean, she's humming; you should not be able to hear it past 10 feet away, max. :P

These are supernatural killers; she throws hatchets hard enough to shatter the solid steel heads on them. Plus they should EMBED in people.

She clearly is obsessed with the song & humms it all the time to soothe herself, the Entity latched onto that and made it part of her powers; Survivors hear it and it screws with them (Hence Hex: Huntress' Lullaby messing with skillchecks). So it's not a huge leap that they can hear it, but not discern where it comes from.

    Plus, game balance > reality

  • The humming was put in as an advanced warning, since she has a long range attack.

Then the devs realized that it was too much of a warning; you would know where she was coming from and bail too easy.

So, they changed it to be omni-directional, which helps keep her as a surprise. if you thought she was behind you & she was in front of you instead, her humming did it's job.

It's also a part of her backstory that she's humming the song her mother used to hum to her, and hummed to her while bleeding to death.

They're not going to remove what's a vital part of the characters mechanics & backstory just because you don't like it.

  • 1.NoED is fine.

2.Camping is a strategy that defeats itself. It does not need a punishment.

3.Nerfing every Killer is not how you balance the game. (I'm looking at you, lazy complainers!)

    4.Demogorgon in a speedo when?

  • I love that people whine NoED is OP because 'What if I do totems & he was NOT running NoED? No fair!'

Dudes..THAT IS THE POINT OF TOTEMS.

Either you do them, which means you slow down on Gens & move around the map, risking the Killer finding you.

Or you ignore them, and risk being NoED'd.

It's not unfair, broken, or OP. This is literally WHY totems spawn even if the Killer does not run ANY Hex perks; So you always wonder if he has a late-game hex/a hex not readily apparent (like Huntress Lullaby).

Those of you complaining won't be happy until the game holds your hand and outright says, in bold letters at the start of every round 'THIS KILLER HAS NoED! DO ALL THE TOTEMS!' or 'HE DOES NOT HAVE NoED! GENRUSH!'

  • @Mushwin said:

@Locker_Monster it's not out of spite but what about killers who wait that 2 minutes keeping the last person alive by picking them up and dropping them? survs have to wait sadly if the killer decides to just keep picking them up until the entity has them for breakfast.....

That's a form of spite. 'If Killers can force Survivors to bleed out, Survivors should be able to make Killers wait.'

Yeah; it sucks. Survivors need a 'RIP' button that activates:

    1) If they have been slugged longer than 60 seconds (it de-activates if they are picked up, hooked, or healed back to Injured/Healthy)

    2) If they are picked up and dropped more than 3 times in a short period of time.

  • @Mushwin said:

@Locker_Monster i thought people wanted for the game to slow down not speed along, yes they can just stare at you, what if you have adrenaline? campers will stop and stare too throughtout the game

They want the MATCH to slow down. Not wait 2 minutes on the final, guarenteed kill.

Adren would only proc when the Exit gates are powered, which means you are either not alone at that point/were hooked prior to the final gen (and thus can try to escape) or you got hit to be hooked afterwards.

Either way; Adren would be a moot point.

There's literally no point to force a 2 minute wait on Killers when you're the last one dead, except for spite. You won't get away. Adren will not matter, you'll jump into the Killer's arms with the 4% or Deliverence as well.

  • Here's the thing; deliverence & the 4% don't matter if you're the last one alive. The Killer will just watch you get off the hook, hit you, and put you back on.

    You literally cannot escape.

'But Locker! The Killer walks away after hooking me as the final Kill!'

Yes..because you are going to die. If they changed it to allow escape attempts, 99% of Killers would just stare at you since they no longer need to find other Survivors, the Hatch, or Gens.

So you promptly die, since there's no way you will get away. It speeds things along.

  • ..This is just a lazy excuse to want to DC without being banned.

Don't DC or be banned. Simple as that. Suck up the bad matches like a big boy. You can't win every time.

Plus, the game is slowly getting to a great balance. It takes time, and no, you can't flip the table like a toddler (IE: Disconnect) if you don't like it.

  • It's a point of view:

I see NoED as playing a long game; I give up a perk on the off chance Survivors do all the gens. You see it as failing to kill everyone before the Gens are done.

Survivors see Adrenaline as a second chance if they're downed before the Gates are powered. I see it as rewarding failure in BEING downed.

Plus, you can turn off NoED. You can literally do bones and remove the perk. Survivors have 100% control of NoED.

Anyone complaining about it is just too lazy & wants 3 minute matches without leaving Gens.

  • ...Where did you find this? What is it? o.O

  • @NMCKE said:

He never said it wasn't a legitimate play style, but rather, it's frustrating to get camped. You got to understand what it's like from both perspectives, and judge what's the best change to solve camping from there.

Preferably, I would like to see a base incentive for the killer to not camp, like getting a 20% action speed bonus towards breaking pallets, and vaulting windows. :)

I play Survivor as well. When I get camped, I take it on the chin and go into my next game. I don't come on here and ask it to be changed or make up rules and punishments because I had one bad game.

It's just frustrating to see this pop up every day. It's ALMOST as prolific as 'Nerf Nurse/NoED' threads.

  • No. People need to stop inventing punishments for a legit playstyle, please.

The Killer's aura should not be automatically revealed; this would ruin Insidious.

The Killer should not be randomly teleported away.

The Killer should not move slower when near a hooked Survivor.

The Killer should not lose BP every second he is near a hooked Survivor.

A Survivor should not get the Killer's BP every second the Killer camps.

A Survivor should not get a free escape if the Killer camps.

A Survivor should not get free Borrowed Time of a Killer camps.

Yes, these are all ideas people have suggested.

You being altruistic made camping work for that Killer. You can do TWO GENERATORS SOLO in the time it takes a Survivor to die on the hook. With 20 seconds to spare. And that's not counting the time it takes to: Find the Survivor, chase the Survivor, hit the Survivor twice, carry the Survivor, & hook the Survivor.

Bottom line: Hooking is a playstyle that PUNISHES ITSELF. If YOU got hit because a Killer was camping; You. Are. At. Fault!

NOT 'bad mechanics' or a 'broken playstyle'. YOU made camping work for that killer. YOU are the one who can do gens instead.

I'm sick of seeing people stomp their feet and demand or suggest changes to a playstyle the Devs have said time & again is legitimate, just because they don't want to admit THEY are at fault.

Camping is fine! Do gens. Do bones. Open the Exit Gates. The Killer is basically throwing the game to get ONE kill. If you give him more kills; IT'S YOUR FAULT.

Honestly killer mains are not the ppl to go to when it comes to balancing this game.

And Survivor mains screaming to nerf anything they don't like ARE the right ones?

  • @Chickenchaser said:

Making a new survivor must be pretty easy for the devs. New audio, and skin is All a new survivor really is visually.

Perks on the other hand are a little different. I don't expect 6 new survivor perks. I would assume both survivors are going to have the same exact 3 perks.

It's Most likely going to be the same price as the other licensed killers imo.

Eh, making skins ain't that easy. You don't just paint it onto a 3D model and call it a day.

At least, none of the programs I used worked that way.

  • NoED is fine. The ones that get salty over NoED are the ones who are too lazy to do bones, or get unlucky and can't find the right one, & assume anything that they don't like should change.

  • You need 200% more Evil Juice to get to EW3 when using this. Basically, you will spend 90% of the match stalking Survivors, and either get it as the gates open, or just kill them before you earn it.

    It's fine.

    NoED is fine, too.

But because hook respawn times were so short and applied so little pressure, you were able to hook them. Understand that when survivors are sabotaging, they aren't on gens and aren't getting any closer to completing the objective. If survivors are spending most of their time sabotaging, it might be a long game, but it's an easy win as killer.

Also, I was wrong; The time it takes for a hook to respawn is 3 minutes, not 2. They should at least buff saboteur since 30 seconds doesn't even add a quarter of respawn time.

It takes, like, 30 seconds to hook. Then they are down for 3 minutes. 3:30 with the perk.

That's 3 minutes you can't be hooked if you stay on that side of the map. Where most matches run MAYBE 6 minutes in total.

There does not need to be a buff to the sabo timer. Again; this would make slugging the meta, and then Survivors would complain MORE about being slugged after they sabo every hook on a map & the Killer had no choice.

  • @Exerlin said:

I think it would be better if they buffed the hook downtime to 4 minutes or buffed saboteur to keep hooks down for twice as long. 2 minutes is not a long time, and chances are that you'll be downed after the hooks have respawned.

    4 minutes?

No. I've had games where Survivors sabo EVERY HOOK (besides basement). It would be impossible to hook anyone and it would lead to nothing but slugging.

    Hook sabo times are fine.

You're right. I completely derped on that. I blame the fact that the building's central AC broke Saturday morning and it's consistantly been 90F (32.2C) every day so far. x.x

Everyone who complains about NoED being 'unfair' 'OP' or 'crutch' operates on the same 1 thought: 'Anything that keeps ME from winning is OP. Anything that HELPS me win is clearly in need of buffs.'

what is point off this "counter" if you lose because of such a huge timewaste? technically it's counter, but in fact it not reliable and make you and your team dead, so it's not really counter. its just stupid statement like as "instaheals/old DS/old MOM is fine just hit one more time", by your logic no matter how much time it takes

The point of Totems is to WASTE TIME.

They exist to make you wonder 'Does the Killer have an Hex perks?' and 'If I don't do Totems, will I get NoED'd?' and 'Can we win if we ignore Hex: Ruin?'

They exist for the sole purpose of forcing Survivors off of Gens. So you're whining about something working as intended.

May as well say 'Killers hitting Survivors is OP because it prevents us from doing Generators!'

They exist so you can't Genrush. But, once again, Survivors think anything that stops a 2 minute win is OP.

  • @May_Be_AFK said:

Other than any potential lore stuffs for Jake...

I suggest making sabotage a generic perk for all survivors and giving Jake a new perk. One that would add some neat gameplay, I think anyway.

Give him a new perk to lift pallets back up. It takes time, skill checks and signals to the killer but if the pallet isn't broken, it can be lifted.

Possibly even limit the number of times you can pick one up per trial.

    Discuss...

    Pass.

It's already annoying to have 2-4 toolkits in a match these days. I always see people 99% every hook and then break it when I'm about to hook someone.

If people could just sabo at will, without either a perk slot or toolkit, there'd be 0 point to playing Killer.

Add to that that pallets are a one-time use. They already remove Bloodlust (lord knows why. Bloodlust is USELESS unless every pallet is broken. IE: 10 seconds before everyone leaves/dies) so being able to reset them would be a HARD Killer nerf.

  • We don't even know the Demogorgon's powers, so how can anyone say 'It's just Freddy'?

It's pretty obvious that I and others are asking for an anti bleeding perk that doesn't have MASSIVE downsides. Not only that, if you want a stealth build, which is what an anti bleeding perk would be for, you'd need to take Iron Will to not be moaning in pain all the time.

Here's the problem; blood is a huge way for a Killer to track someone, or see that an injured Survivor is in a locker.

To stop blood pools, the perk is going to have downsides. You're removing one of the best ways to track someone, and some Killers can see blood puddles better for easier tracking.

Except as someone who runs No Mither for 99% of their games you would know it is not a true anti bleeding perk because you can pick yourself up which means slugging shall never come into play. It's useful for other reasons but calling No Mither a anti bleeding perk when it never comes into play properly because of it's other effects is ridiculous

..It stops your bleeding. This makes it an anti-bleeding perk. The OP did not say 'Except for No Mither because of arbitrary reasons I did not tell you; we need an anti-bleeding perk'

It stops you bleeding for the entire match, regardless of if you're standing or on the ground. This makes it an anti-bleeding perk. It literally stops you from leaving blood trails. It's anti-bleeding regardless of what you think or what silly requirements you attach to someone else's question.

..But imagine giving people a snarky reply when they answer the question...for some reason...

  • @brokedownpalace said:

"Oh you want a perk that affects bleeding? Bring this perk that gets you downed in one hit and makes injured music play constantly."

That's basically what four separate people felt the need to say for some reason 😅

...Maybe it's because No Mither gets rid of your bloodstains the second they hit the ground?

Which means it's an anti-bleeding perk?

Kind of funny, you asking for an anti-bleeding perk and being given an anti-bleeding perk. Almost like...people were answering the question....for some reason... Huh. Weird. 🤔

cleanse take 15 seconds not 5, so only cleansing takes 75 seconds, to find it all usually takes 2 minutes on most easy small maps and 4 on hard maps(the game, swamp for example), so this actions give killers 3-5 additional minutes - for experienced killer it's HUGE difference, and guarantied loss for survivors. it's only easy if killer don't understand how to play and tunnel vision on good runner who have strong map set up. So - NOED don't have any counter play, no matter what survivors do it always give huge advantage to killer - decent additional time or instadown and speed boost, and all this for free nothing you can do about it

Really? Because doing bones takes time, there's no counter? 🙄

That's not how it works, man. Being able to turn off NoED for the rest of the match is a counter. It literally counters NoED.

Just because you don't want to do it does not make it any less of a counter.

The whole point of Totems, regardless of which totem it is, is to slow down the match and force Survivors to sneak around looking for them, which is dangerous.

By your logic, 'totems are dangerous and slow, so they have no counter', the only balance would be to put every totem next to a Survivor at the start of the match so they're not so 'unfairly' risking a hook to break them.

  • @NMCKE said:

I learned the hard way that it's sometimes bad to hunt down the Ruin totem because you could waste a lot of time looking for it when you could have 2 generators done within that time.

To be clear, I'm not complaining about Ruin, I'm complaining about the monotonous task us survivors have to deal with. :(

I meant to be more jokey, but I think I came off snarky, for which I apologize. x.x

I do 100% agree there should be another objective.

  • ..You could always hunt for the Ruin totem?

I mean yeah; Survivors need a more solid second objective..like carrying parts from a nearby crate to the Genny, then you work for 10-20 seconds, get another part..Or something.

Something to break up holding a button and waiting for skillchecks.

Sprit fury gives you a free hit. On killers with instadawn, it is a free hook. All you have to do is break 2 pallets. Is it broken?

While I agree that the old version of MoM was broken, but the perk was over-nerfed. The perk in its current state is the worst survivor perk in my opinion.

Not even close to the same. To get the 'free hit' you needed T3 Enduring as well, and you were STILL stunned either way.

Now, if there was a perk for Killers that injured every survivors working on a generator at the time it hit 100%; THAT would be akin to old MoM. It would punish Survivors for playing their objective, just like MoM punished Killers for playing their objective.

    PTB ON SEPTEMBER FIRST GUYS

Ok, Indiana Jones; not everything said is a treasure hunt. :P

  • Old MoM was broken. It rewarded a Survivor for bad plays/Punished the Killer for doing what he does; hitting people.

Was it overnerfed? Probably. I'd argue safe unhookings would be fine; they rely on the MoM user to be smart (unhook when the killer was gone/take the hit so the unhook stays 'safe') and need just a little luck (the unhooked one has to get away).

Nothing should reply on Protection Hits while they are so buggy, honestly.

..Then again..It would be nice if Dead Hard, or another perk, let you shove a player aside, so you take the hit instead. (I only picked Dead Hard as it has that lunge animation that would not look out of place lunging INTO a hit to protect someone)

  • @Frozen said:

another "just cleanse totems" braindead thread. please just count how much time it cost you, you most likely lose because of such a time waste, it even worse than selfcare trough sloppy butcher, just please its not really "counter" if it takes tooooo much time.

TBF, asking for a nerf to a perk YOU CAN TURN OFF if you're not stupidly lazy is also braindead.

Braindead demands like 'Nerf NoED! WHAAA!' deserve braindead answers like 'JUST DO BONES!' Seriously. Stop licking the Generator and look for totems. Stop being lazy.

Of course, Survivors want them 3 minute games. Doing bones is sooooo unfair because it slows down the GGEZ twerking.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

As it stands now, NOED is entirely unbalanced in the Killer's favor. They get a movement speed boost and permanent Insta-down attacks if the totem is never found. NOED has recently been popping up in every survivor match I play, along with an ebony mori. This combination makes it impossible for survivors to escape if they find themselves in a chase unless they're one sneaky Nea or Claudette, or if they happen across the hatch. The perk is even appearing in high rank games I'm in such as a Freddy I went against yesterday with top tier NOED and an Ivory Mori. He was rank 7. Games like this show that certain perks are completely unbalanced and that killers don't want to have a fun time playing and learn how to mindgame survivors. Instead they want the game to be on a sort of easy mode. I personally see this as a pathetic attempt at a win.

As it stands right now, NOED doesn't need a buff or nerf; it needs a complete rework.

    'Unbalanced in the Killer's favor'

*Can be denied from ever activating if Survivors look around*

Boy, you don't know what unbalanced is. You're whining because you're too lazy to do Bones. You want your 3 minute genrushes and get all pouty if NoED stops that GGEZ twerking in the exit gate.

You can literally turn NoED off before it ever becomes a threat, and you call it unbalanced? Really?
