They're rewriting the code for it in order to make it function properly.
On topic: No, it doesn't need a nerf. It is okay to have powerful perks in the game. Better than having useless ones like Pharmacy.
I'm fine with powerful perks, I'm not fine with unfair perks.
Pressing a button to undo a mistake is incredibly frustrating. It's like if killers had a free hit every chase with no requirement.
Perks like Iron will and corrupt intervention are powerful perks that are fair, crutch hard is not fair at all.

I'm only playing killer lately because it's the only role that's playable for me. I can also tell it's a miserable experience for the survivor players I'm against as well.
The survivor desync is a much more pressing issue than some killer hits wrongly whiffing. I reckon out of 50 swings, 1 I felt robbed.
On the flipside almost every hit I took as survivor was dedicated. You can't play reactively with the killer wrongly positioned on your screen.
I want to see killer hits fully fixed too but survivor right now is much more important and broken right now.
I understand that the survivor issue is much worse than the killer end, but I'm having hits every game robbed because of these hitboxes or whatever it is. Many swings through pallets that I would normally get I am not getting.
Both need to be addressed at the same time as playing killer and having hits stolen from me is not fun art all.
-
Hopefully yea, but there hasn't been much talk about the killer side hitboxes, so I'm concerned its not on their radar of high priority bugs.

When it comes to characters like Freddy and Deathslinger, the only amount of skill required to perform well is learning tiles. That is what players find annoying. The worst is how players know the ins-and-outs of Slinger by just playing Battlefield.
Yea because actually predicting where people will go and actual aim clearly take no skill. /s

It's less a shadownerf but them being incompetent.
Quite a few maps have bugged collisions (e.g disturbed ward, bus on autohaven, some trees ob swamp)
No like holes have been patched up and a very popular shot on badham was straight up removed for literally no reason because they added in a random piece of debris. There was no reason to put that there other than to prevent this slinger shot. That's a shadownerf imo.
-
New hitboxes have moved to the front of the survivor, so if someone is running perpendicular to you, you have to shoot a bit in front of them.
A bunch of fancy shots have been patched up which is an actual shadownerf :(

I feel its near impossible to react to his shot in time. At least with huntress the speed of the hatchets is enough to react. And to run him it seems like you have to hope he miss the shot.
I honestly don't have a clue on how to counter him effectively. Any tips on how to handle him?
A fully charged huntress hatchet has the same speed as a slinger shot btw.
Pre drop pallets and learn 50/50 scenarios. Bait common locations like a pallet. Dry hump god buildings like the badham school and crotus main.

Play Slinger on the new Meat plant... it’s a field day for him. The majority of the pallets and loops he can shoot, reel, and hit.
Yea, meat plant is pretty good for him now, you can even shoot though the yellow grated walls onto the staircase which is pretty fun if you can get it.
I dont get why they managed to have a full staircase be shootable - through but not a simple railing.
-
I absolutely ######### LOVE IT.
Body + bald head
Body + P3
Head + literally any body
It's easily his best outfit.
EDIT: I have discovered that his hand looks weird on the weapon when you are using the body, oh well at least the head still looks nice :L
-
I really don't understand why we're forced to use the new UI, there's nothing that benefits from it it's just ugly as hell.
-
They'll probably pull the "You're not used to it yet". Even though many players have pointed out clear flaws in the design of the new UI such as how much your eyes need to move and how the characters changing confuses both experienced and newer players.

First, who?
Secound, maybe because it's not bait?
Scott Jund, if you don't know him search him up. He's sometimes questionable with what he says but sometimes he's alright.
If it isn't bait then take this, I'll put it in black and white:
The new DS changes have changed DS so you cannot sit on a gen for 60 seconds and get free progress even if the killer comes to contest. The "chase another survivor" argument has so many holes in it I could make a 10 page essay on why it's not a viable tactic under high level circumstances.
Your idea that survivors are weak has been tested and completely disproved by high level players, with most tournaments having strict rulesets for survivors (no more than 2 of the same perks) and plenty of clips showing how a killer can lose due to unlucky map RNG or 1 tiny mistake. In fact maps alone have been proven to be survivor sided in most cases, hence why only about 4 maps are used in scrims and tournaments. The only reason you might think survivors are weak is because of trash matchmaking, which is not a good base to form a strong opinion on.
Your ideas that BHVR only cater to killers are also pretty wrong. Both sides have been nerfed both years ago and in recent months. Whether you think that the devs cater to one side is up to you, but to say they ONLY cater to said side is incorrect.
-
You know man has good baits when even scott falls for it LMAO.
-
It's still gonna be just as good in a good SWF or a bunch of really good solos, but for the majority of matches it'll be much more balanced.
-
There's literally nothing good about it. I made a list of the issues I have with it:
- Great fences of china
- Great hedges of china
- Unsafe pallets so you're forced to use windows (aside from the few god pallets)
- These same windows are completely overpowered and take no skill to use making them feel boring to use
- Lots of W gaming potential
- Gens are hard to find
- Playing survivor is unfun on that map due to reasons above
- Massive map for killer
- Lots of buildings makes your pathing inefficient, hence why it feels bigger than it already is.
- Gens in hard to reach places
- Said gens are in safe spots as there's usually a broken window nearby
- House of pain windows
- (The most broken one) Main building window next to basement is literally an infinite
- Map just looks ugly and cluttered
Now here's only 4 upsides I can think of:
- Some gens have blocked parts, forcing only a 1 man gen
- Survivors who want to win would obviously like this map
- There is 1 certain building that can be a bit unsafe for survivors upstairs
- You can parkour on top of cars as high lunge killers like demo.
This map is the worst map both in terms of design and balance.
-
"Killer is the easiest it's ever been, so your points towards survivors having overpowered stuff is pointless."
-
For reference a dev said that Freddy is strong but they don't know why he is, this clip didn't have too much context so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Tbh Freddys power level is fine, he's just too easy to play.
-
I mean we've had some pretty good killers recently.
Twins, pyramid, slinger and blight on PC are all very good killers. I don't think we really need another nurse or spirit unless they really think out how to design them in a fair way.

U might have to get a new one then :/ how old is it? U could always try getting it to a specialist see if something can be done for cheap.
I played it a few times on ps4 lerry's once but there was no issues for me, no fps counter tho but didn't notice any freezes
We shouldn't have to do that though, it's not a ps4 issue as game like MW2019 run fine. The only other game that has FPS drops similar to DBD is gta5 and that game is massive in comparison to dbd.

We won't see optimization.
It's no coincedence that the "Optimization" category on this forum has the "This Is Not Happening" perk icon.
Buying a next gen console will be the only optimization we'll ever see for console
We only need a verified twitter account to say something about it and all of a sudden a patch will be coming haha

They're probably prioritising Huntress and Demo due to their add-ons being their main problem, Huntress's Iri Head, lack of a second ultra rare add-on and exhaustion add-ons all need adjusted to be brought more in-line with other killers. In comparison, Demo's add-ons are rather lacklustre, with only a couple being of any real use.
Plague and Michael on the other hand are alright killers as is, they could probably use some add-on adjustments as well, however the thing about both of them is they both have the potential to obtain methods of attack that are already very strong in their current forms. Adjustments to either of them need to be done carefully as to not make their default abilities crazy strong.
Huntress does have problematic add ons which do need changing at some point so I guess that's fine. Demo however is almost perfect, sure some of his add ons are useless but most of them have a use and useless add ons are on the majority of killers. The only things I can think of for demo is base kit rat liver and a few hitbox adjustments.
Plague is clunky to play due to the slowdown after vomiting and her power is horribly designed by being completely controlled by the survivors, hence her low pick rate. Michaels tier 1 is nothing but a hinderance and prevents him from becoming anywhere above the lower end of mid tier.
It's not that Demo or huntress don't need changes, it's mainly that they're prioritising minor issues over killers with much larger issues.
-
I'm still baffled that they're prioritising adjusting huntress and demo over michael and plague.
Huntress and demo are arguably some of the most well designed killers, yet michael still has tier 1 and plague is plague.

Ruin is weak. The only reason we see it so much is because of Undying, that’s it. Once undying is nerfed Ruin is gone. It doesn’t do enough for how little time it’s going to last after patch.
I disagree. Even if ruin lasts about 50 - 100 seconds theres a high chance that it has regressed early game gens, possibly preventing 3 gens popping at the start of the match. That type of regression at the start is invaluable and it's why corrupt is so meta. I use ruin alone with corrupt on Phead due to his horrible early game pressure.
Think of ruin on its own as a less reliable, but stronger corrupt intervention. If it manages to last longer then you get even more value out of it but most good teams wont let that happen.
Ruin Undying however is completely overpowered and it was built on how lucky the survivors got. Some games had rundying go in 20-80 seconds but a much higher amount had it go in much longer where it would hard carry the killer with no skill involved. The lack of skill involved plus the heavy rng added to it is why I still think that Dhope and undying is gonna need a nerf.

My favourite part about the survey is when discussing the new survivor and killer perks.
For survivor perks:
Please rate how Useful the survivor perks are for this chapter.
For killer perks:
Please rate how Fun the killer perks are for this chapter.
-
Matters what killer I'm playing and their synergies. Like clown I'm running Pop corrupt on every day, while with pig ill run pop only and use other perks like monitor, BBQ, and enduring.
For synergy if the killer has an obvious synergy perk I'll run it. If you're not running Thana on Legion you're playing him wrong.
-
The fact that reducing the DS time by 15 seconds is apparently too hard, yet pyramid head can get a full change within 4 months of his release.

Suffocation Pit has the 7th big size of all realms:
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Realms
Tied with e.g. Ironworks, where I never hear complaints that it is too big. In fact, it is only a little bit above average. But yeah "too big".
While the middle area is indeed probably the strongest Part of this Map, it is not like this area is too strong. The Building is also fine, yes, it has a breakable Wall, but honestly, just break it. People always try to use those as the worst thing that ever happened, but Breakable Walls are completely fine, they waste a little bit of time but the structure is incredible weak afterwards.
And well, looking how some Survivors run those... Yeah, sorry that good Survivors can outplay a bad Killer. :(
When it comes to Badham, only the Pallets inside Buildings are save, e.g. I mostly ignore the School and the House with the Basement. And all the outside Pallets are unsafe, its not like you cannot play on this Map as Killer.
But like I said, KIllers want to balance around Top Level-play, but also want Maps to be super-weak.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1903654#Comment_1903654
Yeah, but like he said, you can burn an Offering yourself. But you refuse to do it, because you want your sweet BPs, but obviously Map Offerings are a problem then. The only thing that is more ridiculous is people saying that the Killer should be able to choose the Map (which was an idea which came up multiple times on this Forum).
And the problem currently are the Maps, not the Offerings for them. If Maps like Haddonfield or Coldwind (even tho, I only consider Cowshed a problem, but I dont have much issue looking through Corn) are reworked, they will also be more fair to play on.
The only change to Map Offerings should be that if the Map was not picked (due to another Offering), the Offering should not be burned.
You highly underestimate how strong that middle area is, not only is it guaranteed tiles, but also chained tiles. I've had setups where I literally cannot be caught until the windows get entity blocked, and if they do there's most likely another tile nearby to break BL.
The breakable wall in main isn't the issue, that's just a side issue that shouldn't be in the game in the first place. The issue is that with a slight amount of distance the building can be looped around over and over with no killer interaction, it may as well be an infinite (obv excluding certain killers like nurse).
Sure, if the killer is on your ass literally then the window won't do much, but give it a slight bit of distance and you can use the window 3 times over or until it gets entity blocked.
As for it being large, I should've said that the distance between gens is large, which forces you to 3 gen. This can be both good and bad depending on the situation. Against people who know how to split gens, you have to start holding a 3 gen down early giving you less time to work with.
As for badham, every survivor just runs to a building when hit so ignoring them makes you lose a lot of chases. Not only that gens are in these buildings so if the survivors do open gens and leave the ones in buildings to last there's very little you can do.

Sorry, if you really think that Suffocation Pit or Gas Heaven are survivor-sided, then you should try to search the problem in your own gameplay and not blame the Maps. Badham is also pretty balanced.
Killers always want to balance around the Top Levels, but call balanced Maps like Suffocation Pit survivor-sided... You cannot imagine the stuff they come up with.
Suffo pit is large and survivor spawns are almost always split, making it hard for them to group up unless they get overly desperate for unhooks which good players wont do. The main building is a semi infinite with a breakable wall, shack is surrounded by safe filler pallets.
The main thing which makes it survivor sided is that the centre of the map has about 5 or 6 chained tiles which can make some insane setups where you cannot be caught. This consists of jungle gyms, tls, and c wall pallets.
Gas heaven has 3 almost inaccessable gens, one in main and 2 at the edges of the stacked cars. Not only are these hard to access but herding survivors at the stacked cars to prevent W gaming is impossible. Object makes the stacked cars even worse like the upstairs on widwich.
Main has a semi infinite window when garage gen is done or a normal window, but also has a forced breakable wall spawn that you have to break.
If you look at how some survivors can use these maps it really isn't balanced. Id argue that suffo pit in particular is in the top 5 worst klller maps in the game.
EDIT: Also saying badham is balanced is a joke when it has 3 god buildings with gens inaccessible locations.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
Map Offerings are fine. Once the Maps are reworked, nobody will care for them anyway.
Many of the reworked maps are still incredibly survivor sided. Suffocation pit, Gas heaven and all badham maps come to mind. From the looks of things disturbed ward is still gonna be unbalanced and the issue of too many god pallets on game still hasn't been resolved.

Yeah.
But developers are aware that this will happen and after implementing MMR they will buff Killers / nerf Survivors' meta perks to compensate... will they?
Yeah they'll nerf DS and unbreakable to compensate for survivors constantly being matched with other good survivors. Plus they'll properly fix and buff low tier killers as well.
Like that's ever gonna happen.
-
No more noobstompers. We need killers who can actually do something against good players both in chase and out.
Other than the twins' absurd camping ability, they are the kinda killer I want.
-
Billy 100%, oni is meh and is waaaay too reliant on survivor mistakes. Against good people you're gonna be an M1 killer most of the time unless they give you free hits.
-
You need to find a sweet spot of "wont effect high skill games that much where tunnelling is kinda needed" to "Strong enough to impact killers just straight up tunnelling".
45 seconds of DS is that sweet spot.
-
Delete the charges you get from starting the rev. Not while revving, but when you start it.
You literally get punished for STARTING you're ability and that is absurd.

We aren't complaining about BHVR not adding accessibility, we're complaining that people seem to thing almo outright insulted and attacked colourblind people which didn't happen.
It's amazing that we're getting colourblind options now, I love it. I also agree that it should've been added in ages ago.

He was just mildly annoyed at the question being repeated at him, as he (as far as I remember) doesn't have control over the colourblind mode and how it's made.
Imagine being spammed a question you have no control over, so the answer would always be "no". Even if he does have some info about it, it's similar to why otz has an FAQ to stop people from asking the same question he's repeated 1000 times. It gets tiring.
More importantly, he didn't even directly insult or diminish colourblind players, he was just annoyed that he's been asked it a ton. I lurk in his streams, he most certainly doesn't have a grudge against colourblind players.
This whole situation has been completely blown out of proportion when it wasn't even a situation in the first place.

What makes you think this is true? The game has [demonstrably] not gotten more survivor-sided over time, which is what you'd expect if the devs only listened to survivor input.
Think - Ruin Undying got nerfed in practically 4 months. I think the nerf was deserved.
DS UB still hasn't gotten a nerf despite the forums being spammed with DS posts, SWF groups rolling even good killers with the DS, UB, SG combo, and countless good players some even being tournament players prove that DS alone is too strong.
Now think, how long had DS UB been out for? A year ish?

I can name a lot of things that can get you banned for just discussing them, but id rather not name them :)
He has a point though, console optimisation and colourblind options have not been resolved, and due to the nature of how slow survivor perks get nerfed, I'm betting we wont see a change for at least another 6 months.
I hope I'm wrong though.
-
People still thinking tunnelling or camping to win is toxic smh.
Start hitting people on hook if you wanna be toxic and shaking your head when you hit them down. Tunnelling is just a really efficient strat and camping only works in certain situations where the survivors leave someone on hook for too long.
-
I'm not saying that spirit is fair or anything, but if you classify "guessing right" as no counterplay then TL walls also have no counterplay because you simply guess right on what the killer is gonna do. Same with huntress with her "will I lift a hatchet or will I keep going" 50/50, by your logic she also has no counterplay either.
Basically your logic is flawed on what is and what isn't counters.
One thing I will admit though is when injured it pretty much is the spirits game to lose.
-
Hardcore.
The casuals can get better, the hardcore can't get worse to work with balance balanced around casuals.
-
@chieften333 said:
That is an issue with dedicated servers, not hitboxes.
How many times do people have to say this?
Deathslinger actually has fair hitboxes because the hitbox is the size of the projectile. He very rarely gets dedicated hits.
Huntress has a massive sphere with the diameter of the entire hatchet, that is absurd. A good 50% of the hits on me when I'm playing against huntress shouldn't happen but do because of their massive hitbox anyway.
I don't want huntress to have proper style hitboxes though until they buff her clunky and slow base kit. Removing the hitbox would be a massive nerf so something would have to be done to compensate for it.
-
Nah, Id rather not see 4 god medkits then 4 keys.
4 medkits guarantees that you lose no matter how good you play unless you tunnel hard asf.
-
Can we not call it a "tech".
A tech takes skill like the CJ tech and can be outplayed by the other side assuming they know it.
This is just abusing an exploit to not get picked up and the killer can do nothing especially if they have perks like soulbreakable.
-
Probably pyramid head, they barely do anything in the first place.
