  • Nah, I don't bring moris.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Personally I think most survivors do NOT want to go against a skilled killer. Skilled killer means they will find and down you quickly just about every single time. That's not fun.

What most people want is a killer that plays OK-ISH BUT FAIR AT ALL TIMES which means a killer that struggles to find survivors then screws up a lot in a chase resulting in lots of "OMG THAT WAS SO CLOSE!"-moments and still doesn't camp or tunnel after overly long chases even if that way of playing results in a 0k or a 2k at best combined with some tbagging at the gate and classic post game messages.

OBVIOUSLY I COULD BE WRONG, THOUGH.

From this survivor's perspective, you are wrong.

A skilled Killer will not find and down a skilled survivor quickly. And that is the point. Unfortunately, a skilled Killer will find and hook potatoes quickly, which sucks as a stronger player because we all know the game gets exponentially harder with less people or when someone(s) is a total anchor.

I would like 2 things in this game that would, IMO, really bring back the fun. 1) Killers who play 'fair', as you put it. 2) A much better rank/match making system.

There is absolutely no fun playing against unskilled Killers who are easily evaded and dunked on. There is no fun in playing against Killers whose only prowess is to camp and/or tunnel every survivor. There is very little fun in being paired with survivors who do not belong playing alongside legit red ranks and make brain dead decisions that are bad for the team.

Imagine how blissful it would be to just be paired with people of your own skill level, both survivors and Killers, who all played well.

I appreciate a match where a Killer just plays fair. Even if I die. When I get downed in a good chase, I usually remark, "bah, I deserved that."...in post-game chat, I try and tell them that I legit appreciated their play style - because it's so f'ing rare, but it's so much more fun to play against. Match after match after match of being camped and tunneled really ruins this game. It's sad that it's actually noteworthy when someone just plays well and everyone gets to enjoy themselves. That people are so used to having a crappy time, that when someone manages to maintain a fun match - it's praise worthy. That's sad, bruh.

  • @Huff said:

Unfortunately you don't speak for all survivors. I get plenty that get mad at me, and I've even had a survivor get mad at me for "farming" which was actually me just whooping their asses and then letting them go (not death hooking the survivors). Whether you're good, bad, mean, nice, survivors will find some way to #########.

    As will Killers.

  • None. TYIA πŸ˜‚πŸ‘οΈ

  • It does absolutely suck that a Killer with a crappy connection gets hit priority. It seems worse since the patch. I hadn't seen anything like a lag switch in a long time...until after the patch and now you'll see a Killer walk into a wall and 2 seconds later you're on their shoulder...no idea what even happened. I love that there are a lot more unsafe palettes that you're intended to use to actually stun the Killer vs. loop...except with lag/hit priority it's almost guaranteed you're going to get hit through them if you let a Killer get visually close enough on your end to get a palette stun. In essence, I agree, lag sucks and there should be some minimum standards/balances for this.

  • @McLightning said:

If that was truly what survivors wanted, why are they always crying for nerfs, and crying when one of their OP perks gets nerfed? Why was there hysteria when people realized triangleface countered DS and BT?

Survivors don't want to face good killers. They want to FEEL like they are facing good killers, so when they win, they feel like they accomplished something.

Great questions. There is uproar because tunneling and camping are often the only way killers know how to play these days. As the OP said...survivors want to play against SKILLED Killers...Killers who don't employ these tactics starting with their very first hook...not face-roll killers who make camping/tunneling that much easier for novice killer-players with very little actual skill.

Survivors absolutely want to face good, SKILLED killers. So that when they do win, they feel like they earned it and it was an exciting challenge. There is nothing exciting nor challenging about a killer designed to better camp and tunnel people.

  • @Kotentopf said:

I see this quite often these days and just started to report every survivor in harassment. Does not matter if im killer or survivor. I personally (as killer) always get a bit scared for getting false banned, but i also just can not deal with the fact, that ppl just can say "you are a cheater!" and nothing happens. I would rate this as a kind of character assassination.

I mean, i also get some kind of punishment when i just call a random person on the street a child murder or ######### when i can not proof this.

    LOL @ character assassination

You are welcome to classify someone calling you a cheater however you would like in the report system, but this is a waste of your time.

Also, why are you being called a cheater so often? I have never been called a cheater in this game while playing Killer or survivor. I've been called some things...a cheater has never been one of them. LOL

The ban system seems pretty loosey goosey. You have exactly nothing to worry about - unless you are legitimately cheating.

One thing let you leave the game, with a penalty. The other lets you accomplish the exact same thing witrh roughly the same level of efficiency, but without a penalty. A loophole is defined as "a means of escape or evasion; a means or opportunity of evading a rule, law, etc." That's literally what this is.

One thing lets you leave the game at any time, without any interaction with your opponent, while getting zero BP and taking an in game temp ban. One requires you to interact with your opponent, get caught, get hooked, NOT get off-hooked before your 2nd phase, and gives the Killer more points for your speedy death. One sends you to the lobby for a time out. The other sends you to the campfire to start again. These are apples to oranges and everything in my previous posts still stands. Nothing is ever going to happen to hook suicides. Get over it. :)

  • While I agree, this is stupid...EGC is enough. This is not holding the game hostage. You can live for 2 minutes.

  • @gatsby said:

It's just true. Almost all Survivors want to be chased and have a challenging match. Especially at high ranks.

Doing gens and escaping isn't the fun part of this game. It's being pressured and feeling like the match could go either way. Having stressful chases and amazing clutch moments. Survivors might complain a lot, but they really do want good Killers. Not campers, no ed users or babies that don't even resemble a challenge.

    True.

If you're suiciding on hook, none of that matters to you. You don't care that it's giving the killer points, and you can speed through the escape phase, get to the struggle phase, and die very quickly.

    It is a loophole.

No, its not a "loophole", it's a "valid strategy", as Killers like to say. :) Same reason Devs don't allow survivors to struggle once everyone is on 2nd phase hook anymore. According to them, its better for the survivors to move on to the next match - they make more pts that way. Same principle. If you're match is doomed to fail, might as well nip the inevitable in the bud and move on to a more profitable match. πŸ˜‰

  • I love this idea :) sandy, jungly, some dank tombs. Nice <3

This is the entire point I am trying to make in this thread. It's a penalty-free way of getting the same result.

No, its well within the confines of the rules of the game and has completely different requirements. You A) must be hooked. B) you must get through 1st phase without being saved. C) it awards the killer sacrifice points, which DCs do not. They are not the same. Which is why DCs come with penalties and hook suicides are completely justified.

How do you square what you just described with two players suiciding on hook within the first two minutes of the game, before there's even time to get anything done?

Most people don't hook suicide without a reason. Without knowing anything else about the match, how could I possibly tell you what their motivation is? Maybe they were blatantly AFK and didn't struggle, if two people managed to get hooked that quickly. I suspect if two active people are already hooked within 2 minutes of the game and zero gens are done, they probably aren't enjoying themselves at all and putting the probability of escaping very low. Especially if that circumstance came about because the Killer is camping and the second survivor went in for an ill-advised and unsafe off-hook without a perk to support it. One player gets tunneled. The other gets hook traded. How is that fun/fair for the original hooked survivor? Its not. They have every right to leave a match with an ######### Killer and survivor. Again, its well within their right to return to the camp fire for a match that is more enjoyable. Its completely within the rules of the game. Just like ######### camping/tunneling. Buck up, buttercup.

  • Yes. Don't chase survivors for 90 seconds in an area you cannot mind game. There are three other survivors on a map.

  • @SpiritLover1133 said:

before DS rework, survivors had to be careful when to safely unhook a survivor. Failure to plan accordingly would result in farming your teammates and send him/her to the second entity phase quickly.

But the current system of DS, survivors can take their time finish whatever they are doing without having to worry about the killer presence.

Trading hooks is bad for the killer. Survivors now abuse this technique by finishing the generators first before unhooking their teammates. It doesn’t matter if it was a safe hook or not, the generator is finished and the unhooked survivor would be granted immunity for 60 seconds ( DS and Unbreakable).

I don't really get your logic...unless you are only speaking to SWF teams. Otherwise, you have no way of knowing if your teammate has DS and UB, so there is still a high likelihood that you're farming your teammate if you're not running BT and you're going in for an unsafe off-hook. That's no different.

I will agree tho - gens before friends. If I am close to finishing a gen, especially if its the last gen, I am not going to leave it to unhook someone at the very beginning of their hook stage. Why would you?

Trading hooks is in no way bad for the Killer. Killers absolutely love hook trades...even better if it can turn into a tunnel and a down...2 hooks for the price of one. So this also makes no sense.

DS grants absolutely no immunity. It grants a 5 second stun. If a killer chooses not to touch a survivor for 60 seconds because they're scared of a 5 second stun, that's their choice.

EDIT: this is not to say that survivors don't act like idiots and off-hook unsafely all the time. They do. I dont think it has anything to do with their assumption about your perk setup. I think they are just either hungry for off-hook pts or not very good at altruism. It would be nice if you could kick a survivor away when they're going in for an unsafe off hook. LOL

One side is playing the game, they are engaging with the game mechanics that are presented in order to fulfill their objectives. The other side is using a loophole to disconnect and not play the game.

Nah fam. One side is playing as cheap as possible and ignoring 3/4 of their objectives. When Killers actually play to all of their objectives, this game is fun for both sides and people don't hook suicide nearly as often. And Killers can completely stop survivors from being able to do several of their objectives: unhook, heal, etc. A survivors main objective is to escape or die. When escaping is a clear improbability, they are doing what they're supposed to do by dying. :) There's no rule stating a survivor owes a Killer or their teammates multiple hooks. If their likelihood of escape is nil, they are well within their rights to die to the entity and return to the camp fire. πŸ‘οΈ The less Killers and survivors play like #########, the less likely people are to suicide.

  • One person escaped. You're fine.

  • I like how when Killers want to employ unsavory game play that is within the confines of the rules of this game to get survivors out of the match as quickly as possible it is A-Ok - totally "strategy". When survivors employ unsavory game play that is within the confines of the rules of this game to get themselves out of the match as quickly as possible this is unfair and game breaking. πŸ™„ Gimme a break.

  • Where can I see the winners? I cant find the post. πŸ˜ͺ

  • LUL @ this post. Idk, how quickly can you redesign the graphics necessary to make this happen and then recode everything to work seamlessly amongst all the other things needing to simultaneously get done in the middle of a major PTB and immediately following the last, largest patch in DBD history. 😡 You sound spoiled. If this game us unplayable for you as Killer, and you think every killer is super weak, that says a lot more about you as a player than the game in its current state.

  • @Lx_malice said:

Eh honestly i think most survivors would prefer to use inner strength over it. You cleanse totems alot faster while helping to avoid potential noed.

    I would agree with this.

Plus, I can't imagine how much rage there would be when someone with DS goes and finishes a gen instead of healing, pops the gen, and then within 10 seconds is full healed and still has DS active.

The one on the left is a pre-rendered image, where the LOD is only limited by how much time you had to render it. It's not the same as the actual gameplay. Here's what she looks in the actual game:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/T9SNUX78UY0T/image.png

The character model used in Dead by Daylight is the same one used in the cinematic trailer, but the level of detail is reduced so it's able to render in real time. Here's what she looks like in full detail, if you want to do a proper side by side comparison.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/4SGE7A4HF8S3/deadbydaylight-chapterxvi-survivor.png

For the record, the Dead by Daylight subreddit is completely independent. We do not influence them or the way they moderate in any way. If you have an issue with it, I would suggest bringing it up with someone from their team.

    πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

  • I visually locate my nearest gen, then go find the totem in my area and do it. If the Killer hasn't patted the gen closest to me by that point, I just hop on. They are probably preoccupied with someone else. Too many Killers complain about gen rushing. Not enough survivors do totems. Nice solution to both whilst not likely being the first to get facecamped. πŸ‘οΈ

Now that we got pyramid head I think nurse should get some attention too, since everyone can relate nurse to Silent Hill.

I think the nurse was nerfed enough already, she was clearly too op when she had 3 blinks and no charge time to her blinks. But considering most of her addons are pretty weak now,her having 2 blinks and no charge time like she used to be would make a lot of players play her more or even return to nurse. When I play survivor she is the killer I encounter the least amount of times and i'm not surprised of it.Its really annoying and frustrating having to wait for her blinks to recharge, and sometimes blink a second too fast just to see your second blink was not ready.Or get dedicated, showing both blinks ready but because of the lag you can only use the first one. This one single change will make nurse so much more playable.

The nurse is still the strongest killer in the hands of someone who has taken the time to learn how to play her. That's one of the coolest things about the nurse, IMO. If you run into a good one, you pretty much have to respect their hustle, even as they inevitably murder your face right off. She doesn't need to be 'more accessible'...she is special and her skill cap is part of the reason.

  • @Reinami said:

With what we have seen with Pyramid head and his multiple powers and the fact that he has a ranged attack that goes THROUGH walls. Is Deathslingers 110% movement speed really justified when Pyramid Head is a 115% killer with a ranged attack seems like a better version of deathslingers but with less range? I'd also argue the range isn't a benefit with deathslinger as when hes so far away it's easy to break the chain and long range hits usually aren't worth it.

You can react to Pyramid Head a little better than deathslinger too arguably, but not that much. Deathslinger slows down and his aiming is so obvious when you know it is coming and you can do a quick juke.

On top of that Pyramid Head doesn't have to reload!

So what you're saying is PH should also be a 110% and his power shouldn't go through walls and should have a cooldown? I'm down. 😏

No. Probably not to Killer's likings, anyway.

This game is not fun for the killer against 4 man SWF groups. its just not.

Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, give me some kinda of way to identify this so I can not play against them, either as an opt out. I'll even eat the DC penalty, I don't mind. Just let me know. You shouldn't be forcing me to play the game when the other team has a bonus advantage through Comms.

Nerf them, Buff killers, give us bonus BP, something. Its just not worth playing against them.

At the very least give me a free always on Ebony Mori. I mean, that would ruin their fun a little, just as they ruin mine. Fair, right?

This game is not fun for solo survivors against a-hole killers either...but instead of any sort of alleviation, we're getting tunnel boxes that nullify DS. :) So, good luck with that.

  • I don't have any issues with killers using their perks/addons/offerings. The only issue I have is with players (either side) being unnecessary #########. If people could stop doing that, this game would be great.

  • I dont like the idea of weakening the flow of real time conversation. People will make well thought out posts and may not be around in an hour to post it...or forget you have to come back to approve and come back expecting some insight only to find it was never posted.

Conversations people don't want to engage in die out really quickly here. Conversations people want to have rise to the top. The raw nature of some posts makes them a compelling or thought provoking conversation. That's the beauty of forums and probably helps devs determine what hot button issues really strike a cord with the community.

    • Another survivor unhooks me immediately
    • Same selfish survivor runs around the corner
    • Killer takes me down again right away
    • Selfish survivor is coming my way to do it again

In this scenario I will not struggle. I will simply die right there on the second hook.

Neither the other survivor or the killer were breaking any rules. The killer chose to take what was laid in his lap by the second survivor playing like a jerk. I don't actually blame the killer for doing that.

However, to the killer that just messaged me after such a game......

I am under no obligation to allow a selfish survivor to hook farm me yet again in that situation. I am under no obligation to allow you to get that third hook. Both you and the other survivor made your choices. I made mine. None of us broke any rules in doing so.

If you are actually interested in getting that third hook you might want to target the survivor playing selfishly because they are very often the ones that make people choose to hook suicide, or even DC. I hardly ever DC (can't remember the last time I did). I do hook suicide though, and it's never because of a killer. It's because of other survivors. I refuse to reward their behavior. I would venture to guess I'm not the only survivor main that feels that way.

I reiterate. I don't blame you for taking advantage of the easier option when a selfish survivor lays it at your feet. However, presuming I have an obligation to you in that situation is ridiculous.

Unsportsmanlike is literally a possible report offense.

I have started reporting people who hook suicide on purpose, not sure if anything is done about it but devs haven't made it clear yet what their stance is on it.

Dying in 2nd phase is not unsportsmanlike. There's no way you can prove it was intentional vs. a slip of the finger, so reporting is probably futile. But by all means, carry on. It won't result in anything. And people typically have a reason for wanting out of a match. Their own personal reason does not have to be validated by you. Everyone has a finite amount of time on this planet and especially to play games...so if they aren't having fun a match - in a game they payed money to enjoy - they should feel free to move on when given the opportunity to do so within the game's mechanics. You're welcome to think that's BS, but I highly doubt we will ever see suicide conditions implemented. On the flip side, it'd be great if they could inject a mechanic like that for when you're a slug. I'd love to just slit my wrists and bleed out immediately. Why should Killers get all the time saving buffs πŸ‘οΈ

Well may I ask what would you want done then? I'm not lying when I say I've never really had a problem with it before when I play solo survivor.

I won't hook suicide unless it's for a good reason and I'd say many more are like this. I'm not afraid of any killer so no reason to do it there. Don't hate a map that much that I'd do it either. Faced ever add-on in the game a 100 times over so I don't worry about them.

Yet if I have a 3 minute chase and no gens are popped your telling me it's worth staying in the game? I'll never dc and I always make sure to give the killer their bbq stack and hook points out of respect.

Maybe the solution to stop hook suicide is to play swf?

Nothing worse than a thirsty killer AND potato teammates. Big facts.

Deserve to know the truth? I deserve to be called a noob killer playing piece of ######### and how I should kill myself, no matter how I play and if I got kills or not? I deserved that? You possibly cannot be that dense. There are healthier and better ways to cope than venting out in post game and harrassing people.

You know how many times I've been told to kill myself while playing killer? Exactly zero.

I have been called a baby killer by a SWAT team or even by a survivor I very obviously (at least obvious to me) let live. Is that survivors venting frustration or providing feedback? ....feedback maybe...maybe we play like noob killers, idk πŸ˜‚ but its definitely not from a place of frustration and also not the scenario being discussed in this thread.

The idea that Killers can have a clear outlet to keep this game enjoyable, but survivors should keep their mouths shut and say nothing when they're upset is ######### ridiculous and denies the sheer humanity. There was literally a post today about how nice it is to be able to kill a whole team with moris because the game is stressful and its a great release. That's fine and dandy...but survivors have nothing remotely like that...except end game chat. But survivors are expected to stay silent and simply GG a killer, no matter what their reasoning for being annoyed is? Nah fam. It's not going to work like that. Killers dont get to act however they want in game and then try and dictate the actions of survivors post-game.

Do I think survivors (or killers) should chastise the other team in post-game chat when they clearly won and call them a baby or noobs? Of course not. Thats ridiculously juvenile.

Do I think survivors should call people racial slurs or sexual orientation slurs or insult their looks or their family because they dont like how the match went? No - and those things are reportable for a reason.

Do I think survivors need to keep their negative opinion about how someone played a match to themselves and GG like a submissive sheep at the Killer's request? No. That's ridiculous. They have every right to ask why you played the way you did...point out why they disliked how you played...and suggest how you change your tactics in the future. Just like you do as Killer.

There are always healthier ways to deal with frustration and stress than what people choose. TALKING ABOUT IT is not really that unhealthy. And if you don't like what they have to say and don't want to engage them - CLOSE THE CHAT WINDOW.

  • I just gotta ask...are you drunk right now? 🧐

Harrassment is harrassment. It doesnt have to be a racist remark to be reportable.

Imagine complaining about "harassment" because someone said your build was disgusting. πŸ˜‚

Venting frustration and giving you feedback about your play style is not harassment and absolutely no one owes you a GG, sir.

So it is completely fine for survivors to be as obnoxious, toxic, racist, whatever they feel like if they lose a game? That would explain the post game trash talking if survivors think that way. I haven't done nothing wrong and yet people are dicks 80% of the time in-game and post game.

Its perfectly fine for survivors to express their frustration and their feedback in post game chat, yes. And they don't have to do it using "killer approved" verbiage. Just like Killers don't either. If someone is being an ######### and they tell them they were being an #########...yeah, I deem that fine. You deserve to know the truth about what people think of your game play. If you don't agree, or you have your own opinion, that's fine too. Both parties are free to leave post game chat at any time.

Also, it's never ok for anyone to use racist remarks - Killer or Survivor, and doing so is reportable.

I play Killer as well, and I very rarely get rude post game chat. Certainly not 80% of the time...maybe 10% of the time - even when I 4k, which is pretty often. Why? I don't play like an #########.

Your chat indicates otherwise. I wasn't there, so I'm not going to pretend to know for certain. However, it doesnt negate anything I said. The fact is, Killers have in game retribution, survivors have post-match venting. That's how it is. You don't deserve a GG when someone doesn't feel it was a good game. You don't get to control how someone expresses their frustration or feedback with your play style. And you have yet to post anything that is a "barrage" of harassment. Someone called you disgusting? You're gonna live.

  • You are always going to get spicy post game chat. Especially when you camp, tunnel, or slug people - because its not fun to be on the receiving end or have a teammate be incapacitated by any of those things.

And while Killer's have plenty of potential in-match retribution, either in the existing match causing them strife or the next match because they strap on some iri addons and a mori, survivors have literally nothing that relieves their frustration except..........end game chat.

So no. Survivors are not going to continually take it up the arse by a killer who gives zero ######### about their enjoyment of the game and just GG you at the end. Just like most killers don't just let teabagging, flashlighters have nice safe unhooks and a shot at the hatch or save their moris for last hook after a match where they got annihilated.

    Suck it up.

    GG

    Leave chat.

    Problem solved.

So last patch came with a bunch of changes to maps with noteable issues. This is what the game needed & it still currently needs this on a good amount of maps. The maps I feel need some looking into are:

Disturbed Ward (most in need of fixing, too big & main building too safe)

Haddonfield (we all know why it needs fixing)

Mount Ormond (too big, too many jungle gyms next to one another)

Mother's Dwelling (too big, god loop in house)

Fractured Cowshed (barn is still kinda broken with 2 open windows)

Badham Preschool (a lot of high value pallets in my opinion, gen spacing could be reduced a bit)

    The Game (too killer-sided)

Yamaoka Estate (both maps are blendette feeding grounds, Family Residence is too long with few pallets in the middle section)

Feel free to comment other maps you feel need looking into or how certain updates to maps didn't fully resolve specific issues found in them. I would also say that tiles need to be remodeled or that more tile types need to be added. This would shake up how survivors loop & how killers mindgame. Looping shouldn't be as repetitive as it is.

Most of these maps are fine and were already changed.

    No.
