I'm still waiting for the Kate here.

So yesterday I did this funny thing because I kept getting the same killers over and over tunneling me and changing their playstyle/killer to counter my kindred so they can camp. I am not toxic, I don't trash talk in the after lobby. I will say a snarky remark if I need to but always ggs and I don't attempt to hurt feelings. But I played as Jake, only running sabotage and no items/offerings, and if the ping seemed to me like a killer I kept dealing with, I joined and sabod hooks close to generators, provided a good long chase without any other perks on my belt, or in one case I ran to a corner over and got farmed by my teammate and the killer. But for EVERY game I did that in, whether the killer was someone that had been tunneling/camping me many games before or not. I bought time for my teams to 5gen and escape with only me being punished with what caused me to build that anyway:
Camping and Tunneling.
I laughed like crazy the whole time and managed to up my chase skill while being 'toxic'. Dunno how well this would work in red ranks though.
-
Killers dont seem to respect farming items. If a killer uses bps, I will try to farm with them. I get lucky once in a blue moon and will get a nice killer to farm with who I will try to make kill me. But usually they're just careless and are like "just because I used bps doesn't mean I want to farm with you guys." If I see a non-threatening killer use a survivor pudding I will try to farm with them too, and usually if they know they're struggling to get kills they'll get the hint and let me farm with them.
If I were you I'd just get david's farming perk or play killer. Playing killer and doing daily rituals are good for bloodpoints but don't expect killers to let you farm with them, it seems kinda rare in my experience.
-
I run kindred, because I get camped a lot and I REALLY don't get offended by it even if the killers are trying to cut me up and nod. I'm just watching them get gen rushed or my squad forming some position/formula to rescue me from the camp.
Then when they read my load out and saw I had kindred. They want to start "proxy camping" next game I get with them if it happens. And it cracks me up so bad because they got so mad that even if they did manage to kill me they care enough to camp me better next time.

Clown is underused not because he's weak, because he clearly isn't. Only his base is weak, but even that can get a draw at rank 1 (I've tested it out). It's because he's not too fun in comparison to Spirit, Hag or Myers. He's a bit like Nurse, strong but not fun to play. He's on the same level as Myers and Huntress. Only reason he's widely considered weak is because Tru3 once said it.
No joke, that guy has mad influence on what this community thinks ๐๐.
@PoweasAgreed. Dude freaking compared MoM to the old DS and now I can't stop seeing people say that. Like what? You gonna trust a dude who never takes his hat off 100% of the time? (Still a tru3 fan though)
Clown is my 2nd main killer with Spirit being first, I literally didnt play him very well at first but I'm getting better and I love having him with iron maiden during the whole MoM, DH, Insta Heal, whatever epidemic.
I imagine the old clown mains were like
*Throw bottle at feet* *DS* *Enduring* *Browse forums* "Clown sucks" "DS can't be countered" "Toxic survivors" Clown: Hey guys, I can beat toxic with toxic! Wanna see? Community: Who's that killer over there? Is that Freddy?
-
Yeah 9/10 times when I play survivor I spawn with the other 3 around me or at least 1 person next to me and 1 person at the jungle gym closest to me. Doesn't guarantee we will work together though so I don't think killers should worry about it. Besides, sometimes my teammates will just tap a gen and sneak away to see if there's discordance then come back if not. Discordance is a great perk since survivors spawning together is super likely.

I had the fortune of running left behind during a legion game on the temple map once. Got the hatch. 8)

What the heck. Devs WHY?!

@Yamaoka Lmfao you forgot "Why do I always rage and quit the game, because they are SWF"
Man this thread is great.

David makes me worried. I feel like he cries and yells super loud when injured/falling compared to the others and I play with him a lot in his default outfit because people like to call default David a hobo and I think he looks super nooby.

Sometimes when I load a lobby as killer, I go to do something else because I expect to wait 14-20 mins then end up in a game almost done and everybody thinks I've been letting them do gens the whole time so instead of being a D word I'm just like. "Ah...uh...ok....I guess this is a farming lobby now" And sometimes I'm like "ok maybe 4-7 mins till I get a game" and end up waiting for like 20 minutes and crap. Hopefully no bugged lobbies. I dunno how some people end up waiting an hour. I would just remake the lobby or switch to survivor, or just leave the game when I'm super ticked off about wait times.
-
I understand what you are complaining about but, what is wrong with 360s?

That's not how human psychology works.
Suicide on hook = easy win = positive experience = killer thinks he's a god and will keep doing everything the same way.
We should all do this against Freddys then. Not even joking.
-
Yeah don't forget that plague only actually needs to catch up to a survivor once to hit them. IF she even chooses to catch up to them. If she waited a little longer and kept puking on you she couldve auto gotten her corrupt (if she had corrupt fountains available) and just floored you without swinging an arm. It's fair, survivors aren't entitled to get a save and not deal with campers. Sucks but it is what it is.

"I'm brand new at killer in yellow ranks, but I'm going to tell you redrank killers how it is"
Kay.
@Free_Hugs Well you act like we just didn't go through a crap matchmaking system that deranked higher tier survivors, and like high tier survivors don't derank themselves to boost their friends or avoid sweaty killers, and I've jumped to the red ranks myself a few times as survivor up to rank 6 highest and flew back down but I don't go beneath 10 so I'm saying 10. Plus literally ALL of my dbd friends are red rank survivors and killers. You can't throw shade with assumptions so try again when you get common sense.
MoM is not Meta in experience. It takes skill, it takes a lucky convenient spot, and the survivor cannot guarantee it will trigger exactly when they want/need it. All of which were the issues with old DS. Yes you can make it work better with you with other stuff like DS/Adrenaline/Dead Hard. But Dead hard is the exact same way; requires skill/convenient spot/can't gaurantee you won't accidentally throw yourself where you want to go. Adrenaline is not guaranteed to work because you don't know if you'll make it that far in game. DS is what it is but the build is not meta unless the survivor is lucky.
-
I disagree, because you don't know who has mom and intentionally tunnel them unless you've played them before and recognize them, and we are only assuming for now only Ashes have MoM. So it will be an anti tunnel perk as soon as you can't detect who's using it.
I don't tunnel Ashes, I just try to hook them where if someone unhooks them and heals them, its going to be in a spot convenient for me to apply gen pressure (or a basement) whenever possible even if I have to risk losing them in my grip if they're crappy at chases. I'm still newish to killer but rank 10 survivor so i don't know yet how to explain what I'm doing as a killer. But MoM really does have counter play as a killer. We can't forget this is a game and we can't always win but I promise for killers strategy and decent perks that most high rank killers use anyway are enough for it. I'm not even worried about adrenaline/DS or DH /MoM/Deliverace/Instaheals. If a survivor does a build like that they are ASKING to be tunneled.

Tell me how to bait MOM.
@Raccoon Just using that term cause I dunno what other one to use but I just mean to get it out the way is no sweat. Also I'm sick and I can't eat real food without pain so I'm gonna keep saying ######### subsitutes till that's over with.
@Bongbingbing said:
It gives one of the best chances a survivor has, A Free hit. This gives you distance, slows the killer down all when you should be going on the floor. The Payoff is greater than a Styptic agent and can be used every trial.
The 'setup' is something that happens naturally trough the game which makes the perk require 0 skill and timing is automatic on the hit unlike dead hard where there's room to counter. The perk has 0 actual game play counters since only killers with an M2 can avoid.
Combine all this to the fact that it can work alongside other second chance perks and Multiple survivors can use it in the trial and you get one of the worst designed perks ever.
The perk is a complete mess and I can't believe the Devs thought it was balanced enough to go live.
I actually get happy if someone with mettled uses an insta heal because that means I can just hook them sooner, but the fact that multiple people can run it is why I think non-obsessions need mettle to work asap because second chance perks are worst at late game for any killer. And mettle does require skill or else you've got a wasted perk slot. Its not going to slow down bloodlust (or does it? I'm still baby af in the killer arena), and if the palettes are all gone where they're needed because I was running around with a bunch of mettle rats then. Meh. Sucks for them.
@Cymer said:
MoM with DH, Adrenaline and insta heal. Maybe DS or Deliverance and or a friend with BT.
Usually you need to hit a survivor 6 times during an entire match, now you have to hit him 6 only to take one down after the first hook.
Edit: take SC for 99% so you get an extra heal on top!
Dying light, play with your food, unrelenting, iron maiden could probably help on some maps, pop goes the weasel, rancor, dark devotion, make your choice, spirit fury.
Can't guarantee the survivor will get to use adrenaline. But I mean, I don't think that survivors have much room for toxic building anymore where they can save all their booties with ease and run out as a 4man. But yeah, some kind of build like that that you mention is another reason why I think Mom for non obsessions should be triggered earlier so it doesnt become something that they can just bodyblock each other or whatever a few times then become a pain in the butt later in game for killers who can't play around mettle.
-
This is what I think:
Some killers are salty and want revenge
Some killers just want an easier win so they'll camp at least 1 person to kill the over altruistic teammates
Some killers roleplay the role way too seriously and pretend to have a hard on over watching a video game character stay slugged or on the hook
None of them care about their bloodpoints

@pungent_stench What has MoM to do with tunneling? Nothing. Or does it count as tunneling if you want to hit a survivor a 4th time during the course of an entire match?
@NoShinyPony said:

@Aven_Fallen That's not what I wrote.
1) You say you don't see a lot of MoM. That's because this perk is new.
2) MoM is too powerful. A lot of people could tell from only reading the description a couple of weeks ago. But now that the perk has been released, we have also already seen examples for MoM being too powerful in matches.
1) and 2) don't contradict. Double standards are something completely different.
@NoShinyPony said:
@Aven_Fallen Of course you can know that things are unbalanced without having to try them. You don't have to actually try bad things just to prove that they are indeed bad.
If you are simply annoyed by MoM discussions, that's another thing.
You literally sound so inexperienced with mom and that's coming from a baby killer/mid tier survivor whos spent a good amount of hours against it and teamed with it. You seem to have this mindset that all mom players will be meta because they're holding a meta perk that's easy to bait to the point where you don't even need to change your killer of choice to go against it.
@powerbats said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/403771#Comment_403771
I wouldn't go that far but you could make it so that if you're exhausted ie DH/SB/AD etc you can't get stacks. Also if any insta heal was used on you you have a lockout for 30/60 seconds for Stypic Agent/Syringe being used before you can get stacks.
Ah the usual voice of reason. @powerbats
-
Dude, MOM was made to not encourage tunneling if you ask me, and it's good at making survivors waste their time healing if they use selfcare or a medkit. If they use instaheals it's even better because you can waste it sooner. I've been playing as Clown to throw bottles at them after they use their mom and the clown's laugh is so great when they get slapped up eventually after using it.
Ash Players who are obviously deranked from higher levels going against my baby killer Clown: *Tries to bait infinite loops for ages with SWF*
Me with clown: Injures them and lets them be
Ash players who are obviously deranked boosting their swf: *Always going for the save*
Me with clown: Injures them and goes to hook someone else
*Repeat process till MoM and hopefully I've had at least 2 kills by now*
Me with Clown after Mom Activated: *Throws bottles, floors, hooks, only 2 survivors left usually so everything goes more smooth and I can get a 4k*
Ashes who are lower ranked are....quite frankly not as good at making their mom work for them. But I don't know your skill level or who you main so. This is just how I've been doing it lately, havent been playing other killers but clown against Ash's perks so far.
If multiple people have Ash, I'll assume there's multiple moms and try to go for the least aggressive, stealthier players asap (even if I gotta slug or drop a chase with someone more aggressive), and hook them where there's no gyms nearby or where I can cockblock their rescue easily because they're the ones I don't want to keep around with mom. I rely a lot on survivor mistakes though when I play with multiple moms though but, I dunno if it's a balance issue or not. I think the survivor in me finds it alright so long as I at least have the ability to control where mom activates.
-
@Spirez I guess its to bring attention to devs/community managers, and whatever friends he's made here in like 10k posts.
I don't get why so many responses here are so inconsiderate and rude. Save the toxicity for when someone's being stupid.
I literally just switched to killer main yesterday because I'm sick and tired of dumb teammates who don't know how to rescue against a camping killer and DCing teammates in every game I play now. If you wanna try survivor again because killer is to easy/boring I suggest SWF. I like playing solo but I always expect to die and not have much fun with my own teammates if I do.

@Blueberry Seriously go watch Zubat. 4ks 8 hours straight with every killer he plays in rotation at rank 1
4ks 8 hours straight with no DCs? No hatches? Whaaat.
Instead of watching him play, I would just try to learn all the tiles and totem spawns and how survivors think/play to get at that level. I'm still having issues learning all the tiles but that's something all the great killer/survivor players who arent just boosted af have in common I think.
-
I havent touched Legion yet but one thing I'd do is let the people window/palette juke me as that is one of their few counterplays against a good legion. And I would drop the frenzy right before reaching a gen so they have time to hear where I am coming from and react quicker instead of going potato for a second if I'm gonna be extra nice.
-
MOM would work great for me because like 90% of my hooks are yay close to coming out. But since I face the same killers often who will occassionally rebuild themselves slightly just to deal with me and I'm sure many of us do, theres no point in using it imo.
Speaking of killers rebuilding themselves/reforming their play to deal with you. Running kindred against the same killer multiple times in a row makes me laugh. One game they're facecamping, next game they're proxy camping, next game they think they're slick and taking it back a bit further. Kindred makes me laugh.
okok no more change of subject.
-
Yeah whether I play as killer or survivor I see this crap all the time too. It makes me want to give up sometimes but can't let my team down by not trying. Hitboxes are still broken af in this game. If I play killer and I know I hit someone with some crap hitbox and catch them again. So long as I don't need to rush kills and they're not a super good survivor, I'll try to turn my focus on someone else or pretend to walk them by a hook and drop them somewhere where I know someone will pick them up then pretend to or actually go for someone else.
Although I'm a survivor main, I gotta say that us survivors sometimes don't realize when a killer can just easily down us over and over but they are considerate and let us live a tiny bit longer.
-
This isn't bait at all folks, this was posted in the survivor subsection for the purpose of warning us about these kinds of hags, they're telling us that we should run:
Small Game
Kindred
Dead Hard
Deliverance or Self Care
Flashlight + Battery + Amplifer
and Murky Regent

Why didn't I think of this? I would screech if I saw Buffy. She has a new comic coming out this year if it didn't already, same looks (M.G), but takes place modern day with tumblresque fashion and stuff. Have yet to check it out.

Holy High Priestess of Babylon. Today these forums are full of hilarious complaints and witty combacks like I've never seen in my 200 and something posts here. Is this where freaking 2000 posts and crap come from next to answering generic topics?

Looping a killer why they pop four gens is useless?
Them starting the game off with the intent of finding and feeding the myers is my fault?
Starting the game and just looping the map for chase points as a group of 3 is my fault?
I'm going to assume in good faith maybe you just only read the title or something.
No, I don't go full immersion or just am useless, In a game where I'm not running the killer I average about either 2 solo gens or 3-4 group gens.
The only games I don't get a pip or near double pip, are flat out my fault.
I pipped in all eight of those games.
@HexMoriMeMommy Notice how you didn't say any of that in your first post, so I was just giving a suggestion Hex. Because I can't think of any reason why people would do that to you over and over and over again for hours unless you were just being useless. Also notice in my first post I made it clear that I was just assuming based on my experience and the chunk of info you gave to the first post. If youre actually playing well then all I can say is that, it's amazing you had so many douchebag teammates over and over again, that really sucks.

We've seen QA people play in the background of livestreams back in the day, and they all were playing full on meta-builds with their boosted accounts.. and running in straight lines not looking behind them when getting chased..
Rofl, I can believe that.
I like to call whoever tests their new perks/add-ons for balance a bunch of "Yes-Mans". They don't know squat. I don't care if these survivor mains have 500 hours or 5000 hours. It's a shame that killers still arent fixed from their countless issues, and that the devs put their focus on listening to nimrods who facecamp and tunnel and dc over someone blinding them with a flashlight and teabagging by introducing a freaking broken ass killer who can hop palettes and windows and has counter play that every monkey knows how to predict now and another killer where you only need to catch up to survivors once to down them while having 115% speed (She's still got issues though like iframes through windows and random areas), but won't listen to killers who just want to slow genrush and weaken swf but are already skilled and experienced. Now they just want to make killers for babies and leave them broken, and then weaken all survivors and not just swf for the killer babies.

I completely agree with you @Raptorrotas
I am a Wraith main (Kinda). I think it would be balanced if Wraith was completely invisible when X meters away from a survivor, to make his stealth more viable
Would still be too op imo. You won't be able to hide from him, especially if you're not in a swf who can be your lookouts. He will just have to stay x meters apart and follow you, and so long as he notices other survivors around he can just take a longer path to stalk you so that the others don't notice him too. I foresee DC issues left and right.

Killers need to learn to play the long game and prioritise gen pressure over chases and downs, and do this WITHOUT Ruin.
@DudeDelicious I've seen huntresses in maps that are of disadvantage to them get 4ks playing like this. Probably had whispers but doesn't matter, they were patrolling gens and keeping people in unsafe areas where possible, making survivors waste good palettes then bugging off to keep that pressure going. Freaking love when I see a smart huntress.
-
I RARELY go against a killer who DOESNT have noed, and I'm built, aggressive and patient enough to deal with it. I think only swf morons and boosted survivors complain about noed. I say leave it as it is and don't complain about gen rushing, complain about the maps being super large for many killers, totem spawns being predictable, and don't forget to git gud while you're at it.
Happy not hitting smart survivors with noed :)
-
You remember this recent DC epidemic that's been going on since the matchmaking change (fixed), and the DS nerf? I think I figured out what causes a crap ton of people to still DC. If its not a technical issue, I think it's because people spoiled with DS will ragequit if they see a killer they need their DS against. I've seriously noticed for the past 3 days, every freaking person who randomly DCs in my game after circumstances I think would cause a salty dc had freaking DS.
I've seen often as well people DCing as soon as they see the killer. (Excluding Legion) billy, Myers, Wraith games I am highly likely to see someone DC.
So hopefully this patch will change that if my guess is correct.
-
This thread makes me lol. I am not a tapp main but I see a fair amount of them. I don't know why people say they're a rare breed, if anything I hardly see quintens.
-
@Dragonredking From a survivor pov, I find that most twitch url names I play with on my team love farming people, but they also are the first people to steal a chase from me if I've been going for too long so I love being in a game with them. And I've never seen one act crappy in the after game lobby so far. I believe you though, I have killer main friends who complain about those url people starting drama in game and on twitch and sending lynch mobs after people and making lists of people to grieve, etc etc.
-
This thread is trash because you deliberately stayed in a hatch stand off.
You KNOW if claudette jumped, you could grab her and get a 4k.
You KNOW if you hit Claudette before she jumps, she can go in and get her win.
But what do you do? Expect the survivor to let you win, and when they don't you come to the forums to complain that the survivor started the hatch standoff and "held the game hostage".
You both were competing to win and that's the end of that.
As a survivor main, I don't want to be punished because my team decided to DC or die after 2 gens were done and the killer thinks they're entitled to a kill. Hatches are perfectly fine by me. You should be grateful that it's super uncommon to see games where survivors run with keys to open the hatches early after busting your totems and opening chests instead of complaining about an alternate escape when the conditions are met.
-
I wish her casual outfits were more interesting. The only good ones she has are the shibuya inspired ones. I don't mind if they made her outfits similar to Nea but more tomboyish. Less freaking. Middle aged mom stuff.
-
If you had that issues with 8 groups or something, I'm going to be the first to say you were probably being useless. Maybe just only being stealthy and not helping with gens, maybe you accidentally lured the killers to them or purposely for all we know.
Then again, I have had my times of being used as SWF bait where I would do chases for like 2-4 gens and then get at least 1.5 gens done and thy would just farm me off the hook and leave me to die and be tunneled. But it's never been so many times in a row or within a few hours. All I gotta say is, make sure you're being useful to the team and not bringing the killer to people. Because if someone is being overly immersive, hatch camping waiting for people to die, not touching gens to make sure they stay hidden, just being very selfish and useless at the same time and I notice it with my bond or hook. As soon as I can, I will go out of my way to either make them get on a gen, or bring the killer in our direction by messing with the lockers and windows. Even if I'm not swf.
-
Teabag so hard the whole room got shook with salt.
-
be patient and patrol gens well as huntress, try to run people towards smaller areas if possible even if it means you have to try and approach from an intimidating area's direction. I've never done it, but maybe running bamboozle will help with that task of running people towards smaller structures/less intimidating areas. Ugh. I gotta try bamboozle one day.

If you only have those two options, go for Legion first. Discordance is a pretty nice perk, and Legion by itself is the BEST BP farmer in the game. If its a good game, you will cap in every category, if it is a less good one, you will always end up with at least 25k to 28k BP.
Plague is fun to play and has maybe more useful perks than Legion, but she is currently the worst BP Killer farmer (might change in the future, but thats her current state). She also gets genrushed really easily. Legion, while suffers in terms of lethality, can slow down the game a lot more easily and reliably.
Damn man, after I got done answering that I hate Legions who force the team to farm and get rid of the non-aultristic peoples first if they notice them not being involved in their farm.
Real talk though OP, you may suffer a lot of DCs but, Legion is great for farming. I suggest getting him first too.
-
I main survivor so, bad ping. When I play killer, I don't dodge even the most seemingly toxic looking groups. Because I can take an L and laugh about it at the same time. And salty survivors/survivors who are extra rude because they won don't personally offend me.
I will never understand why there are killers who DC because of people dressed in exclusive/paid outfits though. I mean, I have my own stereotypes about the way players dress but none that seem threatening besides stealthy looks.
-
I only dc against ones who hold the game hostage to force people to farm by killing whoever doesn't play altruistic for them. Not fair and Legions like that never let us live anyway in my exp. Ive only seen 3 legions like that but I recognize the signs so I'll dc
-
Lithe. Iron Will. DS. Urban Evasion
Idk, I've never made a build to counter tunneling directly but I main Lithe as my exhaustion perk and I cannot count how many times killers have just given up on me and went for someone else just because I used lithe. They don't even want to follow me anymore sometimes. Iron Will is helpful because of what it does, pair that with stealth play and hopefully the killer doesnt have sloppy or iron maiden. DS is what it is, and Urban Evasion although a perk I don't use, I think it's great on aggressive and or tunneled players.
-
No point in tenacity, might as well use unbreakable. If a killer is ok with losing you they'll leave you slugged, if not they'll hook you asap. Unbreakable is one of my favorites for solo run though I don't always have room for it in my build.
Boil Over is useless, I used it as a newbie and it does nothing but make the killers have to work harder to walk straight, but it does not help you get out faster. Better off replacing this with quick n quiet or Kindred. Since I think your build is meant for someone who isn't good at chases but wants to avoid being hooked.
Flip Flop can be countered by iron grasp, not slugging, and or convenient hook locations. Also, if a killer finds out you have Flip Flop, they'll just be able to chase you towards their desired location or not slug you. Or they will farm you by letting you use it on purpose and smacking the nuts out of you. Lets not forget Enduring is a common perk and already destroys DS, it could destroy flip flop too.
Urban Evasion is a great perk in general, not part of my build, and using it to travel gen to gen instead of running like normal is going to annoy aggressive, goal-oriented players because you'll be wasting time. So use it WISELY, not as a crutch if you want to do your team a favor, if not then, use it as a crutch.
I think the build you may want to try is:
Bond, Urban Evasion, Balanced Landing, Unbreakable
Or replace either balanced landing or unbreakable with Deliverance and don't go out of your way to get hooked just so you can use deliverance.
