To the DC police it doesn't matter why you did it. I would say finish the game and just move on. Don't end up a statistic when the next round of bans rolls through. Oops, I used the "B" word. ๐ต
-
It's a constant grind for the devs to try to maintain balance in this game. I think they're doing a good job with it imo.
-
Yes, but I have no clue what I did. Trapper let me out at egc, then I went into spec mode and watched him slug the remaining 3 until the entity came up and had lunch before they could crawl out. ๐ค
NOED of course...

Scissors are way OP imo...rock needs a total rework. I had some ideas but I threw away the paper it was scribbled on.

That sounds like a good idea. Some players on both sides give up on the chase too easily and just DC due to the frustration level they might have. A practice session to sharpen up on the basics of the chase would be a great addition to the tutorial.

Just keeping this game rolling and not giving up on further development because of overwhelming criticisms on the forum. IMO there's way too much of it here. No, it's not a perfect game. I don't know of any that are. However, it must be enjoyable for us or we wouldn't be strolling through the Fog. โ

Not yet, but I have put it on scrambled eggs. Give it a try if you haven't already.

General discussions first, then survivor since that's pretty much all I play, then off topic to find a goofy thread to jump into.
Also, off topic has a lot less bitching and complaining, which is nice
-
Toxicity, unfortunately, is the only weapon survivors have. I don't indulge in it or condone it but it's a part of the game. After match insults are definitely not part of the game.
-
Agreed...i don't get why rank reset exists. One step forward, two steps back it seems. There's not much reward to the pip system either. You have a few consecutive good +1 games, then a couple with non participating team mates and there go your pips. Good players should not have to pay a penalty for those who don't care or don't try.
-
Had connection issues the day of the update but it's been ok since. As survivor wait time is about 1 to 2 minutes for me. As killer it's around 3 minutes or so. Not bad really.
-
Unfortunately there's always going to be a mix of goofing off and try hard survivors in the same match. If you're lucky enough to get all try hards, feel blessed !
-
I'm at P1 with Clown. I like playing him, mainly because not too many others do. I've gotten back to back 4k's at times then humiliated by swf the next. I wouldn't mind seeing some improvements though. There should be an add on that injures on a direct hit comparable to a hatchet throw. Both take luck or good aiming practice to achieve. Just a thought...the pinky finger gets a one hit down but you have to be right on top of them to get it. Just the fact he's underplayed shows he needs some attention.

I had this in a match recently as ghostface, it was on the gas heaven autohaven map right up the top middle near rocks behind that stack of cars/truck that spawn...yeah I was super confused, I was going in and out of shroud to give the hooked person some points, then suddenly heard the hatch directly below my feet but couldnโt see it, it only became visible after the survivor was sacrificed for a split second before the game end screen I think it was wedged too close to the rock, tree and hook. Maybe the tree spawn next to the hook messed it up...?
The entity tendril things on the base of the hook were kind of sticking into the hatch when it did become visible, maybe that might have blocked it too? I could close it just as the game ended though so no idea if it was possible to escape via it bc the survivor was hooked prior to it opening and me realising it was even there. Couldnโt ask if they saw it either because they had restricted private messages.
Didnโt know it could happen on other maps, must be a full glitch. Also that bubba is super patient, I get in the same situation sometimes with DCs etc and I just get bored eventually and hook someone, Iโll generally close the hatch if they donโt go to it and let the last person get the gate though. I need to learn bubbas teachings apparently. ๐
Thats the first I've heard of this glitch. Just weird. It took forever, it seemed, to do 5 gens myself. And with that chase theme music pounding in my ears I only blew 2 skill checks ๐ฃ

DCs just ruin the game. Wish there was rank compensation (safe pip?) For everyone who doesn't DC within the first 8 minutes of gameplay.
At least when two people DCed against a 5 blink Nurse today, she farmed with us :D
Can't believe I forgot to mention this game.
Read my other post "one for the books"

Very little reward to survivor anymore. I've had games recently where 2 players DC inside of the first 3 minutes with 5 gens left. I love losing pips due to others lack of trying. Switched over to killer for a while. I'll go back to victim later on I guess.

It's pathetic that people put that much negative energy into a game and making somebody else feel like ๐ฉ. I'm glad consoles don't have post game chat.
-
Don't waste too much time running down that one survivor who is a pro at the chase. It's easy to get caught up in because you want to hook that little cockroach more than anything but the gens are popping while you're doing it. That's where I get into trouble anyway.
-
It's funny to see how everyone perceives the survivors personalities. ๐ค they're a unique bunch!

When I play killer I usually just get pissed off cause I'm not good at it.

Ignore it.

See thread..."Games broke on PS4". Yes, there is a problem ongoing with connections. Hopefully it will get fixed soon. Look under general discussions.
-
Had same connection issues...got booted from games and lost pips because of it. With my luck I'll be on the ban list for leaving games by no fault of mine. Whatever it is...please fix it !!
-
Just kidding...

Played a few games as survivor last night against the new Freddy. I think the rework was well done and got a kick out of playing against him. I thought the devs did a pretty good job with it. Unfortunately I didn't make it out any of the matches but I'm not gonna complain he's OP it was fun anyway.
-
Was too busy running for my life to notice a lot of the changes but I'll try to take a better look next time ๐ต

If you have enough time in as killer it's pretty easy to recognize who the weak, inexperienced survivors are, thus they get tunneled. Then usually the good ones will get camped so they don't cause the killer more grief. The really powerful add ons don't show up in the bloodweb too frequently so I don't see that as a big OP issue. As for all of the repetitive complaints about the game, all I can say is that rather than drive yourself nuts looking for reasons to dislike it, play something else. Really the only thing I would like to see improve is the pip system. It just doesn't seem to be as rewarding as it used to be, but I can live with it.

Being wrongly accused and a life sentence without parole.

I like the combined teamwork that goes with playing survivor. I've never played swf so it's always been without verbal com and having others telling me what's going on and where the killer is. Keeping eyes and ears open and staying focused while utilizing everything on the map available to me is what I like. Granted, sometimes it's a quick 4k if you have a veteran killer in the mix with rookie survivors, but the challenge is always there to make something good happen.

It seems the greatest danger to this game are the ppl who play it. I play on PS4 and have disabled messages, so my biggest annoyance is ppl who disconnect. I can't imagine the abuse some players have endured. It seriously makes me wonder what is wrong with people...
I'm also on PS4 and have had to disable messages, some people have no life and forget this is just a game that's supposed to be fun. It's a bit sad really.

To be honest I never really read much on the character lore, but now that I saw this post I'm going to. I feel I'm missing something by not reading them.
-
This is what can happen if you spend too much time focusing on rank. For me, if I worry too much about pips and rank progression it does get old. I try out a wide variety of builds, playing both killer and survivor, trying to utilize all characters etc. It keeps it a little more interesting. Enjoy your break, hopefully you'll rejoin us in the Fog.

David would be gathering wood after he took a dump in the bushes, and Dwight somehow stepped in it. Meg is bragging about all her athletic achievements while nobody really listens. Kate trys to get a sing-a-long going while Jake ponders on how to get her alone in the woods. Nea is trying to give herself a home tattoo using a rusty nail and ink from a pen while Jeff watches and thinks it's so damn cool. Claudette reads up on herbs by the campfire light imagining herself getting the Nobel Peace Prize for curing cancer. Everyone else is trying to find a convenience store because none of them thought to bring the food and drinks while they await their demise ๐ฃ

The original classic Halloween is still chilling to watch. Too many movies today rely on CGI to impress the audience, but it's just not as effective to me. The sequels, not so much. I won't even mention H3...it doesn't deserve to be included for obvious reasons. I did think the raw brutality of Rob Zombie's Myers films were very effective and I thought they were pretty good. When you start adding dark comedy to a horror film it loses its fear factor, although it's still entertaining to watch. Example being Halloween 5 was a bit goofy.
I do agree that the original is by far the best of them all. I'm glad the devs added Him and Laurie to the game, along with the theme music ๐

Not really...it takes teamwork to complete objectives and make it out alive, not throat slitting of each other.

Well done on your quest! Maintaining that rank may be tough but at least you got there. I doubt I'll ever hit it, as I seem to have been stalling at rank 11 for a while. Maybe someday.,.but I enjoy it anyway. Trying not to focus on rank too much as it just becomes more frustrating.
-
It's better to determine a survivors skill by the decisions they make in game, not what they're wearing. As mentioned earlier in the thread, prestige doesn't always mean skill. It more represents time invested.
