It is on the more rare side to get an actual group that is out to ruin your day but trust me it does happen. I'm talking all the survivors got the same annoying perks and are running flashlights tbagging after every pallet they drop and pointing at you, bodyblocking or saboing hooks constantly. It's a bit frustrating when you get those people. They aren't that common i think in like 40 games i had 2 or 3 games with people who acted like that.

I know I'm late to the party, but if you think meta perks and body blocking is a sign of "OP SWF" then I have bad news about red ranks for you.

I honestly don't see a point in this new Offering. When will it ever be used? When do 4 people ever put on the same map? I've had this game since it came out and max maps I ever saw on offering screen was 3 and they weren't the same. So what was this intended for?? Stream snipers? Sorry just curious and hoped someone here could answer without starting a whole thread for nothing. Thanks!

When you play at certain times, or play enough hours, you start recognising certain sweat squads that burn Ormond or Haddonfield offerings. Whereas before all you could do was burn a map offering and pray RNG was on your side, now you can cancel it.

  • Stealth is a legitimate tactic, and a good chunk of it is people being salty, but genuinely the biggest reason is that as a killer, stealthy players are so boringgg. Finding someone to chase is the least interesting part of the game, and a team of stealthy survivors just makes it so that I'm playing hide and go seek instead of DBD. And the fact that oftentimes stealthy players tend to be significantly worse in chase doesn't help this fact.

At the end of the day, do whatever you want! It's your experience, you make of it what you will. Just understand that, from the killer's perspective, you're basically preventing them from playing the game they queued up to play.

  • BHVR (thankfully) likely won't do this, as paying money for a cosmetic with an advantage is not something they want to do. If you want a blendy survivor, Claudette exists.

  • The fact that Devs think Compound 21 and Oni's Top Knot are somehow at the same level as the pre-change Mothers Helpers show that they probably do have 0 idea how to play the game. It's nuts how much rare addons vary in power.

  • I think it has to do with BHVR trying to smooth out animations rather than having to snap to them. That plus lag means the game freaks out. I've been lucky enough to have spamming space work, but it is really ######### that it doesn't.

Also the autoaim on Kate thru the window just made the clip.

I swear, how more lazy can this development team get? Thank god I don't have to spend money for the new killer and survivor. I hope nobody is spending money on such laziness like this. They are using the same tactics as any other AAA company. "How little work can we do to maximize our profit?" For all of you saying they are working hard, this game would be in a whole different league by now. You all are just happy to throw money at the skins for minimal expectations. I think the one thing I've liked so far in this new "patch" is the opening of the chests. CHESTS! Everything else is pretty much hot garbage. Can't fix hit boxes, can't find a way to punish camping and tunneling, can't find a way to actually balance the game, can't find a way to fix the game more than break it, the list is almost endless. I'm done with this development team and company for it's predatory business tactics.

Alright, bye lmfao. If you think an entire graphics overhaul, new killer, new survivor, and a decently sized list of bug fixes is "least amount of work possible", then you are not anyone BHVR or the player base needs.

exactly, they should just put m2 as a different attack for the nurse at this point to make it fairer, lol.

The weird thing is that it was kinda that way for a bit. When original MoM came out, Nurse hits didn't count for stacks because it wasn't considered an M1.

  • @NuKeD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1605966#Comment_1605966

still, his rush still doesn't get counted as a "basic attack" which makes it stupid.

i had rancor on him to check his mori, i rushed through the exit to kill the obsession and he didn't get downed despite of his "exposed status" .

his M1 attack becomes literally "M2" when in a rush, lol.

Same as Demogorgon and Pig, that is literally nothing new. If anything, means he can abuse STBFL.

And honestly if your metric for a good killer is whether or not it gets exposed procs on their power, then I guess he's bad lmfao.

  • @Hero_awesome said:

I completely agree he's just a worse legion at this point. I'll still say that this chapter isn't the worse because his perks are some of the best I've seen in like 6 chapters. Wish we got a FNAF chapter instead of pinball man. DBD dev's are out of idea's clearly.

The forums really amaze me sometimes. This dude is insanely strong, can run at 9.2m/s and can actually down in his power. He has insane map presence basically for free, is a zoning monster in his power, and can get easy downs at like half the structures in the game. His addons are just batshit insane good, and he has next to zero stun out of his power, which can be reduced even farther with addons. And somehow he's worse than Legion, who can do none of those and is literally bottom 3 killers in the game.

Y'all need to git gud, seriously.

  • @DeanFFS said:

I am new to PC DBD and am wondering what everyone uses for their controls. Also, I was thinking about changing my hook struggle to my mouse wheel. Is that a good idea?

Lots of streamers do it, so it definitely works and is nicer. I personally have skillcheck bound to the button on the side of my mouse, so I can work on gens one handed. Also if you plan on playing Hillbilly I recommend you bind Q and E to turn camera (it adds those binds but also keeps mouse movement for it), but that's just mainly for Billy QoL.

  • Thats...a really good idea honestly. The current effect is underwhelming for how infrequently someone gets slugged enough for it to make a difference, but this would make it so that it actually did something just about every time you got downed. A+ idea, you get a cookie.

  • @ZtarShot said:

Iridescent ambush seems feels underpowered if your removing all the traps for an instafldown than at least give less charge time, faster mobility, faster crouch, and shorter missed attack cooldown.

"This instadown isn't strong enough, give it 5 more positives"

    Forums are an adventure sometimes.

  • Best: Halloween Chapter, Stranger Things Chapter (for game popularity), Legion rework, Crossplay

Worst: MMR system (only time I've ever just not wanted to play dbd. Also first time in like over a year DBD had a negative growth), Mettle of Man, SWF Matchmaking changes, Dedicated Servers, all DLC maps that aren't Father Cambells Chapel or Dead Dawg.

Can't you say the same silly argument apply in reverse? You think there's decent counterplay because 99% of people don't know how to play her properly.

I think this is in part due to the fact that every other post about Spirit on here says "how to get good at spirit: buy a headset lul". She's a killer that mediocre killers can stomp mediocre survivors with, with very little skill required, but then said mediocre killers get shredded by good survivors. Mediocre spirits will burn all their power trying to find the survivor while phasing, fall for the "counters" people suggest, then chase as a 110 killer for 20 seconds while their power regens. But Spirits that utilize their powers in short bursts and use lunges to make up the difference are nigh uncounterable, but those are honestly decently rare. So when someone who watched a Tru3 video uses their counter against a Spirit and it works, and believes the posts that say all you need to be good at Spirit is a good headset, they think they've unlocked the master key lmao

  • I play Huntress, and Melee hatchets were literally impossible to hit. You'd get the blood splatter and hit sound, but the survivor wouldn't be injured. This happened, with no exaggeration, on something like 80% of hatchets that were thrown at a survivor within 2 feet of my body. I know they mentioned in the comments on the announcement tweet that it was a known bug, but because of that I'm very happy they're gone.

Wait. So you are a red rank, getting paired with other red ranks, and thats...bad? This has to be poorly executed bait.

Will you ever understand? It doesn't matter one iota what the official stats are, or what the devs says. It doesn't change the fact Freddy is the most common killer when it comes to BS hits that players experience. His weapon size has nothing to do with it. Pyramid Head has a huge blade he drags on the floor, but I don't feel like I've been smacked from Australia when he hits me with it.

You can repeat over and over that his lunge is the same as everyone else, that's not experience people get from him in game. Accept it or not, it will still be the truth. But go ahead tell us his lunge is the same as everyone else's again, I'm sure that will magically erase everyone's experience with him and his nonsense hits.

Yeah, screw your "facts" and "statistics", I FEEL that what I'm saying is true, so therefore it is! It's well known that information can only be true if your feelings agree with it.

It doesn't matter if you're in the terror radius, since you can't hear it there.

Great change, but I don't think that this would fix the main issue of spirit entirely. It'd help though.

Basically exactly this. Reduces the bullshit levels by removing the stand still "mindgame", but at the end of the day the problem with spirit is that you have no idea where she is, while she knows exactly where you are. A survivor's counterplay is guess and hope you're correct.

Deathslinger's shot should work like old Legion. If you get the shot but don't menage to pull the survivor to hit them, then it should at least decrease their deep wound timer. It would make him at least a little bit viable.

Deathslinger is enough like old Legion as is, honestly. Not great in the 4v1, but oppressive in the 1v1. A good DS downs you very quickly, with little you can do. He's just slow and has no map pressure.

Also None of the Above, pls give my boi wraith basekit windstorm.

  • @Zeus said:

Any news on blight's buff? Besides if it's leaked it's likely the PTB will be updated

I doubt he's getting many buffs, other than those that come from fixing bugs. Once his collision hitbox is fixed and the double stun removed, he's gonna be pretty powerful in the right hands.

  • Dead Hard is the better perk for a more casual playstyle, Sprint Burst is the most optimal if you're willing to walk everywhere. DH is very good when used for distance, but still can be buggy, and is defeated by instadowns. Sprint Burst, while boring as hell, ensures you're never in a dead zone.

  • It really depends on the killer. Ones like Huntress and Billy where I can drop a perk slot and finding survivors is difficult due to loud lullaby/chainsaw, it is insanely powerful. People often get confused about its worth, saying that there are better tracking perks, but the true value of Whispers is that it tells you where survivors aren't. If I come across a gen that's been worked on at either early or late game, without whispers I'll likely spend time searching around the gen for someone hiding. But if I have Whispers and see that it's not lit, I immediately know I'd be wasting my time and move on.

  • If it didn't apply only on basic attacks, it would be strong. The fact that it does, plus a prerequisite of needing a hit, plus being a totem, plus having a cooldown makes it pretty trash.

  • Slinger is the better killer against good players due to being less map dependant and better in the 1v1, but Huntress can snowball bad players better than Slinger can. Huntress is also more fun to play, and more fair for survivors.

  • @DWolfAlpha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/184335/post-your-unpopular-opinions

My unpopular opinion is that The Legion is my favorite killer to play because running fast and slapping survivors is fun.

There's a Scott quote that I love about Legion players (myself included), where he says that every legion main's reason for liking him can be boiled down to "haha killer go zooooom"

  • Oh boy, these are always fun.

SWF isn't that overpowered, you're just bad at killer if you think it is. Comms don't make survivors good, just slightly more efficient. If you think that you're losing every other game to SWF, you're just bad at killer.

Dead Dawg is a great map for both sides. Perfect size, no dead zones, and the main building is strong but conquerable if you break walls. Aesthetically it's also incredible. Probably the best DLC map in the game, save for maybe Father Cambell's Chapel

Deathslinger is top 5 killers in the game.

The Blight is insanely fun and I fully expect him to be very strong once his hitboxes are fixed. The only reason people think he's bad is because they tried him once and sucked, and saw players like Otz and Scott struggle with him too.

The most powerful perk in the game is Unbreakable, not DS or Adrenaline or NOED or whatever players whine about. There is no other perk that can swing the outcome of a game as easily as Unbreakable, save for maybe DS, which can be played around (unless they have Unbreakable). It's a perk with an insanely strong primary effect in a free recovery from slugging, as well as a secondary effect that's also insanely strong in faster recovery.

    Spine Chill is massively overrated.

  • BHVR released a killer that depends on the hitboxes of in-world items being precise. BHVR also has notoriously imprecise hitboxes on in-world items. He's garbage lmao

Honestly, his concept sounds interesting! But when you dash, half the time you just bounce off of every single corner that extends out past the visual model of the obstacle and burn 4 stacks just pinballing thru a thin hallway. He's real real bad. But his perks are nuts.

  • @malloymk said:

99 the gates. I understand the rationale behind it, but really how often is blood warden really used? And as far as end game saves, there typically is still plenty of time to trade a couple of hooks here and there.

I'd say I've probably been killed more injured running toward a 99'd gate then by running out of time from someone opening the gates too soon.

And blood warden is at least one of the few fun "oh #########" moments in the game.

I don't necessarily think it's because of Blood Warden, I think it's more preventing the EGC timer from starting for as long as possible. I've had games where we fly thru gens but then 3 or 4 hooks happen after the last gen is powered, and if the gate was opened instead of 99ed we'd have to leave people behind or die to the collapse.

  • Unless they're that .01% depip squad, and I've gone against maybe 5 of those in my DBD career, I don't blame my losses on SWF. There's almost always something I could have done, and something I can learn. SWF doesn't give survivors skill.

  • I had basically lost interest in killer, but Oni made me love playing killer again. He's the most fun power of any killer in the game, bar none.

  • Just a small tweak. Give a cooldown to pulling his sword out of the ground and he's in a good spot.

  • Devs unfortunately had more pressing matters to attend to, like implementing and subsequently revoking an MMR system no one asked for. But hey, it'll probably be in the October midchapter patch! ...Of 2021

i do. what's your point? potential to end game at any moment in the game is okay for you? Any other killer has something that limits hem, and overheat should limit billy in this situation and it doesnt work

Yeah, agreed. And if Huntress downs someone with a hatchet, she should immediately drop all the ones she has left. Can't have killers getting more than one down in a row, amirite?

  • @Kumakx said:

Basement have always been there, and feels like its too iconic for the game. Imo only arguable change to basement would be maybe, just maybe adding 2nd entrance. And it's quite arguable idea. Definitely wouldnt delete it.

Also i would love to see the shrine for how many totems are left on the map, idea posted in other thread. Other than that, basement is fine.

One idea I love (though implementation would be basically impossible so it'll never happen, but I can dream) is that the basement has 2 exits, but each exit comes out to the two basement spawn locations on the map. Maps with only 1 basement spawn would need to be reworked to have a second, which is why i think it'll never happen, but I think it would be crazy cool. It would give some level of map traverse to slow killers by going in one staircase and out the other, as well as eliminate some level of basement camping.

  • Did the killer down you immediately after? Or did they wait to hit you?

  • So would killer get the same treatment? If not, then that's an incredibly one-sided nerf that's both incredibly biased towards killer and also throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Just strengthen weak perks and weaken OP perks, don't shoehorn survivors into playing specific ones because some perks became meta. Especially since that just means certain survivors will be meta, rather than perks. And god help BHVR if the most meta survivor is a paid DLC.

And if killer gets the same treatment, the game dies. No exaggeration. 99% of killers would quit if perks like BBQ or Infectious were limited to their origin killer. It's incredibly annoying to have to play killer when I don't have a perk build I like, if the whole game was like that I would quit. And I'm sure many others would too.

  • The devs gave everyone 444,444 bloodpoints towards the tail end of the anniversary, as an apology for cakes being busted for a week and a half. That might be the reason, though you would have had to have had ~700,000 BP before that.

  • I'm kinda in the same boat. I've never been mad at BHVR. Disappointed and exasperated, definitely. But this MMR system is the first time I've been downright angry at the devs. New players are getting stomped left and right, by veteran players who have to choose between being nice or getting out of MMR hell faster. I have probably somewhere around 200 hours on Hillbilly alone, and I was facing lobby after lobby of rank 20s in their first 3 hours of the game. One baby meg told me that in the 4 games she had played, they had finished a grand total of 1 generator because she had been against all rank 1s and 2s. The devs should honestly be ashamed: they pushed a comically busted MMR system matching players like Otz and ScottJund against people who just downloaded the game, and their only defense is "ranks don't matter", as though a baby Nea with 3 hours somehow has the same skill rating as a streamer who plays DBD as their job. And from what I've heard, this is how the test on Xbox went as well. The devs just plugged their ears and released it anyway.

  • Bamboozle, honestly. It's just a lazy perk for killers that would rather burn a perk slot than learn how to run tiles correctly. I understand there are certain windows in the game that are busted, and I understand bamboozling them, but it seems like every other bamboozle user I run into vaults and blocks bloody T L walls.

Deathslinger above Legion as usual. I don't get it.

How do people still think Deathslinger is bad, it's honestly worrying at this point. He's pretty firmly A tier, with certain extremely high skill names in the community putting him top 5 killers in the game (zubat, for example). Meanwhile Legion is easy bottom 5 killer, especially with the Bubba rework.

  • Certain survivors like Ace and Kate have significantly quieter injured cries than others. Plus females have smaller models than males, so you can see more of the screen.

Statistics have shown that red rank does not equal the player being good. Previously it was possible to get red ranks by playing the game more than enough - that's something which changes with the new MMR. You might be put up by red rank players, but the possibility is that their MMR rating isn't as high despite them being in red ransk. They might have just played enough before. This post goes a bit more into detail about it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173606/news-matchmaking-update

Here is another post you can check out with Questions asked by the community being answered. The last one explains a bit more in regards of playing a new killer that you haven't played before:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/177703/community-4-1-0-q-a

At the end of the day, even with that system, there's no reason 4 survivors that have played enough to unlock teachables for many of the cast should be going against a rank 15. Especially not a SWF.

  • @Desh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1506647#Comment_1506647

    Again.

    Rank

    Doesn't

    Matter

Read the news Article and understand how the new MMR works.

You're missing the point. We're not complaining because our number is a whole lot lower than their number, we're complaining because a killer with 2 thousand hours in the game should never be against new survivors. Yes, rank doesn't matter, but that's because the new MMR system is supposed to be more accurate than rank. They mention that what they've seen of their MMR system is "promising", and yet I've seen dozens of posts from both the xbox test and since this went live of severely unbalanced games. We're not complaining about the rank disparity, we know that's been ######### for a while. We're complaining about the new system being seemingly worse in the skill discrepancy, the very thing the new MMR system was supposed to solve.

  • That's...genuinely terrifying. Jesus

  • Honestly it's a complete non-issue. I played a game on Blood Lodge where I was trying all kinds of ambitious chainsaws and constantly revving, and I didn't once overheat. Plus the brown addon to increase the overheat cap makes it borderline impossible to. While I still feel like it didn't need to be done in the first place, at the end of the day it only really affected facecamping Billys and maybe the occasional around-the-world zoning saw.

  • Lopro Chains as well. The text has been updated to "survivors hit by a chainsaw within 5 seconds of breaking a pallet or wall are damaged for a single health state", yet the entire match I was only damaging one state. Got a crossmap chainsaw right off the bat and still didn't down. I guess they updated the text but didn't update the addons themselves.

  • Oh boy, this is still in the game? Patch notes said they fixed it. Again.

It's one of the risks. It always blocks the 3 gens farthest away from you. So, if you happen to spawn somewhere in the middle, you easily risk a split proc.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. I wish it would choose the farthest gen, then the two closest gens to that.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 9
