In theory, yes. But in practice, it forced Survivors to play in specific ways or they'd be hit with a DC penalty. If you got on a gen too fast off hook or too close to the Killer, you'd get hit with one I know. I'm sure there were other scenarios too. I was on vacation that week so I didn't get to see personally.

So by making you to stay and continue the game that you choose to start and you choose to play it , it's a way to force you to play in a specific way.

Now correct me if i am wrong but in a game like dbd, lol, overwatch, cs go or any other similar multiplayer game, when you start a game you should finish it, even if you are not enjoying it. yes should be way to end it faster but not leave it just because you don't like it.

If that tge case then you should play a single player game that your action only effect you

  • @UnicornMedal said:

We've already done this with anti-go next and the AFK crows rework. It had to be reverted because it was too oppressive. If this fares the same, it'll have the same fate most likely.

But didn't those made to help survivors stay in the game and " force" them to play instead of having an bot.

Even if your idea was viable… How does any of that stop a killer from turbo tunneling 1 survivor at 5 gens? You seem more upset by survivors giving up than killers handicapping the match 2.5 minutes into the match.

So what does tunneling have to do with giving killers an easy way out of a game they don't want to play?

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

I agree hex perks need to be better. But this suggestion isn't it. It'd be actively detrimental. If killers could lock out CoH by never bringing a hex perk. Then you'd never see a hex perk again in public play.

Survivors want the killers to stop using perks that slow the gens, killers want more options for their build. If you buff both hex and boons then you give them both sides what there are asking. Besides devs said that hex is extremely strong perks and that's why you can destroy them but for now they are not even good enough. By making good perks, killers and survivors will try new builds and have overall more fun.

As for the idea that killers will stop using hex perks that is not true most players want to play the game and have fun if the hex can give that then they will use them. Think like that how many survivors have you seen or played with that try the same fun build, a lot now how many killers how you see or play against that use a fun build?

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

So you want Survivors to not bring any Boon-Perks anymore so that they have even less to do aside from doing Gens?

I mean, sure, CoH can be useful, but from what I have seen, many Survivors are using it in a stupid way like reblessing their Boon (probably because blessing grants a lot of points) or just setting up a Boon instead of doing the last Gen, etc....

In this stage of the game, CoH is the only boom survivors use because can give unlimited healing for all the players. What most players will do is there will find a totem preferably as far away from the killer and they will bless it. Killier then can either lose the game and try to destroy it over and over again or play 3 gens game and end the game 20 min later. Booms right now will only provide 17 sec in the total game at the minim and at the max 1 min. What i said is make all hex and boon totems stronger but make them so they can only interact between them. Right now you have 5 boon perks can you tell me what each does without looking at the wiki? Will you like it if there were more useful and the cloud sees them more often? At the same time, there are 14 hex perks how many of them do you see, maybe two of them?

If both sides have strong perks that can help them and only be active if there are both in the game then you could have a swift in the meta.

  • @Wowie said:

what if the killer doesn't bring a hex perk? it's just useless?

Well, that risk survivors may want to take. But again the devs should make hex stronger so players want to play them and make them other boons useful

  • @Sluzzy I don't want to be that guy but we don't know how much killers are wining (and we can't take persona experience alone). The only new status we have is that SWF has 15% more win rate. So until we see what the devs will do ( in about 20 hours ) can you pls state what that can do to improve solo survivors without nerfing killers?

    Thank you.

And what happened to MoM? It was gutted. The original iteration of it was completely ridiculous, I agree but you cannot use MoM to try and suggest the devs won't change boons when they made MoM practically useless.

I use MoM because it's shows that devs will create strong perks ( mostly to sell a DLC) and then they will kill it cus they don't know how to balance the monster they create. Now let's say that the life span was 90 sec 0r 120 will that make this nerf better?

They’re already created two additional Boons besides CoH that aren’t broken, why are you assuming future Boons will be broken like CoH?

Because of the pas they haeve. They have create MoM faster all rather strong perks that can break the game.

  • @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:

The problem is literally just CoH, that change would turn Exponential and Shadowstep into very unfortunate casualties.

All you have to do is remove the self-heal speed buff to make it Self Care speed.

Ok so when they will create more broken boons then what we wait months in order to "fix". This way we can make sure that CoH will not happen again.

Just FYI they already have ai bots in the mobile game, and they have bots in the unlimited tutorial game you can play as Trapper. So they definitely can add bots to the PC version, they just have apparently decided it’s not enough benefit for the work involved.

So it’s not that they “can’t” do it, they just don’t want to put in the resources to bring over the mobile bot system to PC or to expand out what they built for the tutorial bot game.

Most bots in UE4 are using the same controls as the player the think is the way the player is working in the main game and in the mobile is completely different. More in dept the controls in mobile are both to the screen and can be used the moment the bot is in the hitbox area in the main game because many actions are bonded to the same key this can confuse the bot and take the wrong action. For example, the bot may want to drop a pallet but because it's close to the window it will vault it and go back to the path for the pallet. Or another if the bot gets hit by the power of pinhead then that can destroy the script and literally stop working.

I know i may not make a lot of sane but the thing is that the mobile has better controls and less spaghetti code in it.

The best you can get right now as a bot is a zombies from nemesis and as for the tutorial in that you have extremely little control to the point they can script all the 3 actions they allow you to do.

  • I do feel you but they can't add nor they will. You see the only way to play against a bot is if you are the killer and the 4 survivors are all bots. It's very hard to create an AI for a game like this because you need to add a script for most of the things in-game. But let's say they add one very simple then what happens.

If it is a survivor bot then it will sit on gens if another survivor is on the hook it will take the safe( and/or longer) root to them and if are in the chase they will run in a line drop every pallet they see.

If it is a killer bot then it will go from gen to gen looking for survivors ( they may use the power if they are simply like trapper or bill ) when in the chase they will follow the survivor without mind game or strategy and if they have unhooked a survivor they will not carry a bit.

In the end, a bot in this game will be very hard and unfun for the normal game i think they will be very good a practice tool.

I think if there is 1 totem left (Boon), and Killer has Noed and go to disable Boon, Noed will activated. Since their condition is Gates powered + any Dull left will randomly spawn on a Dull.

Just like Adrenaline doesnt necessary to activate right at the Gate powered moment.

But the thing is adrenaline always work that way , on the other hand NOED need a dull totem and ain every map there are only 5 of them. So if the last one is boom totem ( not dull) that's mean you counter NOED with just that .

  • @TacitusKilgore said:

I have a feeling that any hex that would normally activate and has no available dull totems to activate on will snuff out a boon totem and take its place. It would be hilariously stupid to have a blessed totem work as a proxy-counter to hex perks that switch totems or don't begin the trial lit.

Well the boom totem will not count as dull so it seems that they way it;s gonna work

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Thankyou this was really needed, I'm glad you changed some bad addon to put a bad addon in. Its not like we have to spend 3k on these useless things...

But it's okay survivors are getting buffs to perks while we get blindness on a gen (built into a bad perk) as well another objective for killer (boon totems) along side chases, hits, downs and carrying. Breaking walls, safe pallets in a 4v1 game where they just do gens and nothing else.... they dont do totems, they hardly heal if they have DH etc. Woop survivor sounds fun

I only hope boom totem will be weak ( yes i know that they will not ) so they will not see a lot of use.

  • Killers have good perks but the problem is those perks can't work for all the killers. For example, BBQ & Chill is an excellent perk but a killer with very high mobility can use its effect oplimal. On the other hand, survivors are just skins and so any perk you make for them can work in one way or another.

  • @IsJustMe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1937645#Comment_1937645

Maybe in a Solo team, but how much often do you play against a full one? Me not really. Here you will have a big Problem, everybody will do all, all without gens!

I mean with this kind of information you need the "Button" and with a Squad of 3/4 its useless

So survivors will spend time doing other things other than gens because they will fear NOED. Tell me again where is the bad thing ?

  • @IsJustMe said:

    Totem counter, seriously?

Maybe a "Free Escape" Button, too?

Ok plz tell me why is this idea bad. As killer, you only use one at best 2 hex perks and now we undying dead it doesn't matter how many totems there are. NOED work against either genrush survivors or a full team of solo.

  • For what i get he things survivors should be applied to 1v1 killers any killer

I feel like this is said non stop and people refuse to accept it is just to put an end to a match/stop stand offs, not help the killer get kills. I would say if EGC timer completely stopped when someone is hooked, downed, chased it might help them see it's just to end a match where nothing is happening anymore but I doubt that would actually get the point across.

Again we all know that what we say is just make the timer start when the last gen finished if not devs need to take a way the power survivors have over the eng game.

  • @MadLordJack said:

It should work fine. Currently, speaking from the experience of watching an already-lit totem as HG is cleansed in the distance, finishing the gen as the timer runs out, and cleansing that so-far unchanged totem only for it to also be HG, the current way it works is that the first totem is broken and shifted to a dull while the second just doesn't change.

This is totally compatable with Undying. Cleanse the HG, it goes off, that totem gets transferred to the Undying totem while the second HG totem doesn't change at all. You just have to hope they cleanse HG before Undying or else Undying really will have done nothing.

Edit: In fact, that's the only scenario in which cleansing Undying first is different to cleansing the Hex it's protecting first

The thing is as the player you don't know what totem is what and undying said that will take the first hit every time that means you will cleanse away the undying and then HG.

Bolding text doesn't make the point within correct. Besides, the game should just insta end when the last-gen pops then because there's no way a killer that is already losing can win.

Well with your logic when a killer kill 3 survivors the fourth should die insta sense survivors at that point have lost.

    @SkeletalElite said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1857345#Comment_1857345

The killer has an opportunity to win the match, it happens before the gates are 99.

Once you've reached the point of 99 gates you have already lost

The end game collapse does not exist to give the killer an end game advantage it is for ending the match.

No one said that the end game need to give kills to the killer what we said is the way the end game work doesn't make any sense

  • @AetherBytes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1856830#Comment_1856830

This. If you see a 99% gate pop it open and either force an exit or let the egc apply pressure for you

Not really in order to do that you need to down the survivor close to the gate but not too close make sure no survivor at your location and maybe have a perk that will help you and still you will lose the game.

  • @indieeden7 @MandyTalk so let me see if I got it right at the end of the game where killer supposed the more dangerous have two options either let the survivors reset all the damage they made or throw the game by opening the gate. In the end the power role lose all the power they have survivors rewarded with a free escape ( no matter what the killer will do) all the excitement disappear.

Yes I see no problem with your "reasons "

  • @apathyinc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1842631#Comment_1842631

I'm splitting hairs? Getting a high score (32K) in a normal match will get you the adept achievements, it's directly related. This isn't a survivor vs killer issue, the achievements are player based. Any PLAYER can unlock any achievement whether it's a difficult, easy, survivor, or killer. And yes, a survivor could do nothing all game and still escape, but changing the requirement to only be 4Ks would award a killer for a match where one person suicides and the rest all just give up because of it. And the second scenario is something I see way more often than the first.

You can get 32k and only pip because survivors do fast 4 out of 5 gens but then die. Point mean nothing.

Hey! Just to clarify a few things: You are free to feel frustrated and criticize the devs, but we cannot allow insults towards anyone, including the devs. This has been a forum rule since day 1.

If you want your feedback to be heard, it's for the best if it's constructive and respectful - whenever we made these comments, it's usually after we had to clean the thread from insults towards users and/or devs or when a thread got heavily derailed, a fight broke out, etc. I've already made a sweep through the thread at that time. We, the communiyt team, always forward feedback from the community, even the "negative" feedback, as long as it's respectful.

Here is a point of view of the same scenario, but different ways: We can't forward feedback that's insulting and demeaning towards the developers or any users. That'd make it hard for the feedback to be heard, because why would someone want to read a post full of insults towards them? Then you have the same piece of feedback essentially, but in a constructive way, that's something we'll happy forward. We're also the voice of the community. That's what the community team is here for.

Vents and rants are fine, those are feedback too that need to be respected from us and the team, but the essence of the message here is if it becomes insulting or disrespectful, that's when it becomes problematic. It is very hard to forward feedback that is written in a way that's demeaning. If we didn't allow criticism towards the devs and what they're doing, then many threads would be deleted as of now, which is not the case.

Just please don't attack them or anyone personally for that matter. Same to other users who may have different opinion, don't attack them, be respectful. This helps so much more.

If you read my post you see at the you side when you ban people who call them names or use extremely aggressive language it's rightfully and you should do it but when you try to silence any criticism you don't like this is where the problem and your disrespect is. You can't keep the only the good criticism and hide the bad.

  • @YaiPa said:

it's probably for the people insulting the devs. I don't have any doubts that devs are so passionate about this game and are the nicest person on the planet, but that doesn't change the fact that they are complete trash at bug fixing, game designing and balancing the game whatsoever.

sure, devs do not respect the customers, but we should just complain about the devs, not the persona. Hate the sin not the sinner, right?

And yet when we criticism they product we have the same response close the post or sent it in adyss. But tell me why they should not respect the customers they only reason they work right now is because of they customers. When you show them no respect or you don't care about ther feedback why they should stay ?

You may create a nice game but if you don't respect you customers they will leave and that's the this Devs need the customers not the other way.

  • @ImpressionableTeen said:

Read through the whole thread. The thing is, the other killer bugs were NOT in the known issues section. That means they didn't play legion, hillbilly, huntress or looked through their add-ons (just read them) to make sure they were working ONCE. It literally takes how many killer games? 22? to make sure every single one works. They didn't even do that. It baffles me. HOW CAN YOU NOT PLAY EVERY KILLER AT LEAST ONCE WHEN YOU KNOW AT LEAST ONE OF THEM IS GONNA BE UNPLAYABLE EVERY PATCH

Because they 1) don't have time and 2)only care for the new killer. They hope the other 22 will work 100%

  • @Mooks said:

If this thing happening then thoes stats are worng because they don't show what skill player can do but rather what this random matchmaking results in the game right now. What you will like to know

Just from experience in red ranks: I highly doubt that all of these are against rank 20 survivors. Those stats are against all people met in red ranks. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/778383647?t=0h48m26s Check for yourself here how it's explained.

What the stats say are "Killer Rates and Pick Rates for all rank and red rank" we don't know if thoes stats are againt red survivors. Right now the game have a horrible matchmaking where are red rank killer can face 4 survivors close to rank 12 or a killer rank 20 face a team foul of red survivors. Thoes stats are useless until we know what % of thoes kills are against the correct ranks.

To be fair though, the Halloween events have always brought gamers back to DBD. BHVR also incorporated the first blood hunt in God knows how long which is enough to bring back casual gamers, not to mention they paid Ninja a small fortune to play the game for his millions of followers which also resulted in more players. DBD also had free play weekends which also drove up those numbers.

Everything that the DBD player base continues to complain about is still very much present in the game: bugs, glitches, poor matchmaking, no training mode, lack of gameplay modes, etc. These are the very things that stopped people from playing in the first place, and unless things change for the better, you'll see these numbers from October fall quite drastically.
