His review confirmed my belief that OhTofu is a dedicated survivor main.
OhTofu is a killer main, although he does play survivor sometimes. It's kinda is verifiably true that he's a killer main lol. But hey, go on thinking that killer mains can't disagree with the patch/you.

This argument is difficult to support when nearly every other online game on the market has built in voice chat and also connects people across Europe
What games the size of dbd has it? A good majority of my survivors, if I were to believe county listing in steam, and also post game chats, in my solo matches are from south america and I do not speak a lick of spanish.
But you are forgetting one big thing - nintendo would never let voice comms be on there system so this almost automatically makes it so you can't balance around it. There are switch players, and there are switch players that post here too, so it's not like it's a dead switch game or anything.

That is still bad product design. bHVR really ought to packup that idea of keeping a Killer being insufferable to play as just because someone says "It's not a bad thing to have a difficult killer" is really bad. Luckily for us they dont make Killers anymore that are insufferable to play as, they have well designed powers you can easily use and that is why Hillbilly deserves a rework instead of life support in death while being bad to play as.
A high skill ceiling? Sure you can have it, but there has to be standards for mechanical requirements to play a Killer and billy is way off.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3379538#Comment_3379538
I'm glad you are aware of the issues with Hillbilly, but im not here to retell you that. Im here to suggest to bHVR a full rework of Hillbilly would be better than what exists now. Its fine if you want to tell me not to play him. I already stopped. I only play him when I have a daily to give him a worthy try like every month, but its rarely worth the trouble.
These are concerns I raise cause its just a unhealthy way to manage a product. bHVR needs to realize that.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3379553#Comment_3379553
Overheat has never been an issue for me on Hillbilly. Less overheat will do little to improve his play rate. Nor has bumping into stuff. Its the mechanical requirement that is out of whack. I think bHVR could solve that with a rework.
I guess I still don't really understand why you think that having a high skill floor on a killer is unhealthy and justifies a full rework - if that's even your point, I really can't tell.

It’s like they didn’t notice the nerfs to PR, COB, and OC. Substantial game play changes for both sides.
The difference of course being not every killer and those perks, but healing is something that every survivor has to do, which is arguably a nerf to solo q, the already weakest role in the game

Listening to the professional Hillbilly players is what caused Hillbilly to be insufferable to play as for any casual player. He is just too hard to play and only hardcore experts play him. Listen instead to the rest of the community who does not play him, ask them why they don't play him. Hillbilly is like Nurse in that regard, completely insufferable to play as except you get mediocre results for your sweat. bHVR could have given him quality of life, change the power. but that would not fly.
Leather face is a much more viable and open to other players kind of Killer, but you have to pay for him.
Like have you seen the gameplay vs a Good Hillbilly? they walking back and forth revving the chainsaw around the same loop for a min and then BOOM insta-down. Its super boring and Im glad I never see a Hillbilly nor have any want to play as them. Hillbilly needs a full rework of his Power and a reduction of addons that show too high a kill rate is a good solution while we wait. Make Hillbilly fun and easier to play instead of gatekeeping him hard.
I'm really not sure what you're trying to tell me here, but I am a former Billy main I'm well aware of the steep learning curve compared to everyone else and the various issues surrounding Billy. In fact the learning curve is why I even chose to spend a lot of time with him in the first place. I think having killers with high skill ceilings and still floors is healthy because it gives good options. You want purely mechanical killer to grind and get good at? Billy/blight. Want a killer with simple mechanics that also has a high skill ceiling? Nurse, huntress, etc. If Billy was any more simple to play I think that would absolutely ruin him. If you don't want a killer you don't have to grind and get good at , then don't play him. Play any other killer. That's all I'm going to say on that subject.
To be honest with you I will never agree with anything you just said in this post, and hillbilly is actively the only killer I even enjoy facing at survivor, especially double engravings because of the fun looping mechanics on both sides. A good Billy obviously takes a lot of skill to be, and it does take enough skill to go against as well. To me that's the definition of fun on both sides.
-
Bhvr, if you were to listen to anyone about Billy, this is the person you need to be listening to the most. He is one of the best Billy players in the world, and this post is right on the money.
-
I've posted about billy before many times, Even going as far as to say overheat isn't as bad as people make it out to be, and I'm pretty staunch defender of him I really don't think he's even c-tier, I think he's a strong b tier. But engravings were on the list of things I would say never needed to be touched. I think the overheat changes are fine but the engravings would be a disappointing change if they went to live.
That said of course, I want to see how they toned it down. If dooms are gutted, that makes low pro and engravings a dead combo as well.

Log files are also encrypted so there's no problem in posting them here.
Presumably IP addresses are being leaked in some way which is causing the issues. Can you rule out the log files as the source of that? And just to clarify: this is rhetorical question and I do not expect you to leak internal information about what's in the log files or anything like that.
Clearly you can decrypt them, otherwise you wouldn't ask people to DM them or send them to support. Maybe the attackers can decrypt them as well and pull the IP addresses of people who were in their game from it?
Something along the lines of "<IP> joined your lobby" in the logs or something like that. Obviously I don't know what's in the log files so I can't comment on how realistic that scenario is.
Your comment just gives off the impression that you assume that the log files can't be decrypted by third parties which I don't think is something you can (or should) be sure of. If you can decrypt it then anyone can, theoretically. There's a reason hashes are used for passwords and even those can be broken (though depending on the hash function used this is ideally infeasible).
So perhaps I can shed a little bit of light. There are things where you need specific files or key to decrypt. I'm notoriously a bad explainer of things but I'll try to be clear. For instance, take HTTPS - there is a public key and a private key used to generate the certificate that website's used to encrypt the traffic. If someone gets a hold of that private key they could decrypt that traffic (or in this case log files), but assuming that they use some sort of secure encryption to encrypt the logs it would be unlikely that it would be reverse engineered that easily. Think of it also like maybe email service like protonmail, that uses end to end encryption to make it so that only you can see the content because you have the key that to decrypt it, that is unlocked by your password. Or like a password manager as well.
So a TLDR if it's encrypted securely a third-party person can't decrypt it without some sort of a key, and not in a timely manner with our processing power that we have today. I say that last part because of course all encryptions will be broken eventually, It's just a matter of time and processing power.
This is a late edit to say I misspelled end to end encryption as internet encryption

They said it once (they even indirectly admit it when there was the huge wave of cheaters that were plaguing dbd and they said that they were doing something to protect the streamers because they were the most targeted ones...), also I keep repeating myself: look at the average skills that survivors have in most of their matches, if they can even do win streaks this should tell you the level of survivors that they get in their lobbies...
It was never confirmed, and it wasn't a different mmr, it was supposedly them not being matched with players that had high reports of cheating. I can tell you right now, most, if not all of them would be pissed if they were getting easier matches. Hell, ohtofu says that constantly and is partially why he's burnt out. And if that were the case, why is otz struggling to get a dredge streak going?
I've also said this before and I'll say it again, you can't judge either side's players just by watching a stream - we all have games where we are not on top of things or make stupid decisions. It doesn't mean they are bad quality survivors or killers they just had a bad match.
Mmr just barely functions because it is too lenient. It has the slight edge above ranks, but I wouldn't say it's perfect by any means, because at least this is somewhat consistent. I don't want seperate queues, but what I'd like to see is at least have an option of being strict on mmr because I want these sweaty seal team 6 squads constantly like people on here love to chatter about. I shouldn't have to consider scrimming and joining a baby comp team to even get challenged in this game. Queue times are good and all but I just feel like ######### most of the time because I am constantly going against survivors that don't even have a chance the moment they load into my lobby. From my own experience I get the same quality of matches on par with <insert streamer here>. And I spend a lot of time in this game playing killer, maybe 80 hours+ every few weeks, and win most of my matches. And yet, I'm here, thinking, why the hell am I getting survivors that have significantly less hours than me constantly in my lobby.

With the greatest respect, IMHO you are approaching this from completely the wrong angle asking for users to send log files. Obtaining the software the hackers are using, either by hiring external security consultants to "infiltrate" or by purchasing it from one of their websites, might prove to resolve this a darn site quicker.
Why do I say this? Last year when I was modding for a streamer who was held hostage, prior to OTZ publicising it to the point where it could not be ignored, I had a whispered conversation with a hacker who came to gloat.... He was able to give the IP address that the streamer was using. He claimed that the software he was using to "insert" himself into a lobby with the streamer was able to show various information about people in the lobby including MMR and IP address.
Tbh it should be a mix of both. Logs may not solve the issue directly but it can give key points on what is happening. Logs also have to be decrypted on their end, so it's not like we can see what is in them and for all we know they added some logging that could help pinpoint things in the last hotfix.
But I'd wager they are probably already trying to do that re: attempting to get ahold of the software - when they do security patches like patching out cheats that's typically probably what they are already doing. I've been under the impression that it's not just one group of hackers producing the cheats for the game, and I'm not even sure if the one to get ips is easy to get a hold of. Opsec 101 tells me that it probably is passed to people the guys who made it, but thats just me being paranoid.
I'm just a lowly software engineer, not a [cyber]security researcher or anything like that, but have an interest in stuff like that, buttt I don't envy their jobs. But ya an outside security firm is definitely something they could look at if they can't figure things out internally.

As a killer I don't play in ways I don't find fun if I were in the other side generally - I don't intentionally 3 gen, I don't use perks I hate to see as survivor, etc. I prioritize me escaping over my team in solo q but if I'm in my swf I try to carry them so they escape cause my swf sucks. I think you need to be mindful of the other side and see things from their perspective cause one side won't exist without the other. That being said, everything in the confines of the rules are valid, so do whatever you want and however you want.

-"This makes me think that you've never actually watched a tourney."
I've watched many. Yes the rules have changed overtime but generally speaking both sides have restrictions. Generally speaking the survivor rules are : no character/item/perk repeats (especially after base kit borrowed time..... but in the past this allowed to be the one perk that could be repeated).
-"They aren't random maps, they are picked per killer to give an equal chance for both sides and give the least chance for rng."
So you're not getting it. I said let's play on Random maps because overall the majority of maps in DBD favor the survivors. I want all the maps to be fair and having the game set to "random" goes to show more clearly the unfair nature of the game. Point for me - thank you.
-"and even if it did matter, you aren't running into comp teams in pub matches almost ever and survivors and killers play completely differently than people do in pub matches anyways."
This is where you are wrong. You can see on his streams where Truetalent often plays with and against comp players when they grace the pub queue.
I am at the MMR bracket where I normally see people from comp teaams practicing in public matches. Sometimes you find a group that is a comp level team and they are bullying. The last group that I played immediately went for a "comp" win and did not try to save the person on the hook. Most SWF teams playing "normally" will try to save a player on the hook and in so doing get destroyed by 8 stacks of STBFL.
There is a relevant quote from Truetalent's stream today : " When I play killer against survivors on my level I get 2-3 hooks".
A few days ago I played against a comp level team who had 2 people in their 4 man swf on different platforms to make it look like they were not a SWF. Someone brought a Halloween medkit addon with an instant heal - to tell you what level of BS they thought they needed.
You can only speak falsely when you say: "Your games go like this," because you have never seen me play.
The second to last game I played today had a 3 man team where one player had 9000 hours who actually was a weaker looper than the player with a private profile. Not to say their looping was "weak" but I had no trouble beating them in chase. They were actually quite good - but not by far the best player I had seen for the day.
The truth is that most people do not regularly play against teams of people who have 5000-10000 hours played. I am not saying I play against that every game but it is more likely I play against someone with 5000 hours than someone with 500 hours (unless that person is on a second account).
I've watched many
Then you should know that nurse and blight are not the only ones that can win tourneys/matches.
So you're not getting it. I said let's play on Random maps because overall the majority of maps in DBD favor the survivors. I want all the maps to be fair and having the game set to "random" goes to show more clearly the unfair nature of the game.
I want maps to be more balanced too, but that wasn't what I was replying to either. You said this: "Game will be played best 2/3 on random maps (no picking).", and I was explaining that wasn't the case. That just simply isn't what tourneys do.
Point for me - thank you.
No need to be snarky, this isn't a game show where we are getting points for a prize..
This is where you are wrong. You can see on his streams where Truetalent often plays with and against comp players when they grace the pub queue. I am at the MMR bracket where I normally see people from comp teaams practicing in public matches
To be honest, I find it unlikely that it is that often. Comp teams don't practice in pubs, that doesn't even make sense. They practice in scrims against each other and other teams. You are far more likely to see a comp killer practicing in pubs than a survivor team, and if a team is playing around in public matches they are probably not practicing, they are probably dicking around. Or 'bullying' as you put it.
Most SWF teams playing "normally" will try to save a player on the hook and in so doing get destroyed by 8 stacks of STBFL.
Perhaps they noticed your stbfl and thought it wasn't worth the risk? Tbh neither of those scenarios are that out of the ordinary in pubs. Because this game is random, you don't know what will happen.
I am at the MMR bracket
To be upfront, this means absolutely nothing to me. mmr barely works (still better than ranks tho) and your mmr bracket means nothing. This game is too lenient with the mmr ratings and matching.
The second to last game I played today had a 3 man team where one player had 9000 hours who actually was a weaker looper than the player with a private profile. Not to say their looping was "weak" but I had no trouble beating them in chase. They were actually quite good - but not by far the best player I had seen for the day.
How is this relevant to anything? Time != skill. This is why I think dodging based on prestige and hours is stupid.
You can only speak falsely when you say: "Your games go like this," because you have never seen me play.
Yes, this is why I constantly ask people to record there games if they are struggling, or make weird claims. I just think people over-exaggerate a lot on the forums. I have trust issues. I've said this many many many times in my posts here that this game is really subjective. Likewise, you don't know what is going on in my games, you don't know what I face against regularly.

There's a reason if certain perks/items/addons/maps are forbidden in those "tournaments"... The game isn't balanced around that level of bs... Which brings us the hilarious fact that "comp" dbd is more balanced (and probably even funnier) than pub matches for that reason alone...
If anything it just shows the game is heavily rng-based, and with rng it will never be 100% balanced. Also, as I stated in my other post, killers + survivors play completely differently in comp than a normal pub match, even if we ignore restrictions. Killers and survivors heavily play the macro game more than your average player in pubs.

People are going to make fun of you but you're not wrong. DBD has unfair maps that make 2/31 killers viable when the survivors you play against have more than a potato between their ears.
I will remind everyone that people who play these games professionally for their job (even the ones with 7-9k hours) resort to camping/slugging/tunneling because high level survivor play is too efficient. It gets even worse vs 3-4 man SWF teams which have no limits.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3377417#Comment_3377417
-"You can win with every Killer against the majority of Survivors."
And that's why 90% of the dbd tournaments have Only Nurse and Blight and the survivors have massive perk/item restrictions. How much you wanna bet if I put together a SWF team that you can't win? Since all killers are viable you will play Doctor.
Game will be played best 2/3 on random maps (no picking). Addons will be limited (no iri, 1 max purple/green per player) and you can't run addons more than once for the 3 game set.
IF you got to play Nurse and Blight sure you might be ok... but you dont get to do that so you will get stomped.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3377422#Comment_3377422
-"the statement that "Nurse and Blight are the only two Killers that are barely viable" is laughably stupid."
-"What's my key to success? Unpredictability, I dont run meta."
You can run no perks/addons vs garbage mid tier survivors and 4k every time for like 50 games. If you do not need to run meta perks then you are playing low skill players.
And that's why 90% of the dbd tournaments have Only Nurse and Blight and the survivors have massive perk/item restrictions.
This makes me think that you've never actually watched a tourney. That is not the case, and a contemporary example is a team won a two day tourney with ghostface - https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1721290991?filter=archives&sort=time - and even in other ones 'low tier' killers still do fine a lot of the times.
Not only do survivors have perk/item restrictions, killers are heavily restricted too - perks and addons. And as Pulsar mentioned earlier there are tourneys that have had no restrictions and killers do just fine too.
Game will be played best 2/3 on random maps (no picking). Addons will be limited (no iri, 1 max purple/green per player) and you can't run addons more than once for the 3 game set.
They aren't random maps, they are picked per killer to give an equal chance for both sides and give the least chance for rng.
That being said none of this matters because most tourney's don't even use kills as the win condition (this is of course per tourney but most ones I've watched use that sort of system.) they use a scoring based on hook states and gens done, and even if it did matter, you aren't running into comp teams in pub matches almost ever and survivors and killers play completely differently than people do in pub matches anyways.

There is so much info that is audio to the point were I play with headphones to pick up on it. Like how do you mindgame a survivor you can't see they can just w out or reposition?
It's crazy to hear about people playing killer with hearing difficulties to me because I use sound so much when playing killer I didn't even think of playing without it.
I don't really know how to describe it honestly it's just sort of second nature to me after thousands of hours in the game. I realistically can't really play spirit that well (and I don't want run DCB out of principal) - so a lot my movements with her are mostly just based on predictions on what survivors are doing.
I only play with headphones though, and have always since I started, so the audio (and whatever I have on in the background) is always close to my ears. If I didn't play without headphones it would probably be a different story.

Have you ever tried playing killer? I'm actually curious because gameplay uses alot of sound to track survivors or get close to gens a hear if they are been worked on. I would think is almost impossible to play killer with hearing impairment.
Dbd mobile add sound notifications for all that. So it's definitely a possibility.
Personally, and anecdotally, I track mostly with sight and only sometimes audio. I usually have music and stuff playing in the background that I pause if I have to super concentrate. I'm mostly deaf in one of my ears - but not completely deaf, so it's not impossible, it's just different.

I'm honestly sure what the point of the post is, I'm reading it as you are just saying that you just don't like it saying the entity hungers, I didn't realize it was about mmr. Pipping does mean nothing, it's just your progression for the season.
By the way, killer dc's don't raise mmr for the survivors if that is your concern, it just says escaped because the killer left the trial so there is no reason to continue it. You don't even get adepts from it.

This is propaganda in action. The proof was in the perks people used inside SWFs vs when they played alone.
The old meta build for a SWF was : DH, DS, BT, Unbreakable. Every player ran those perks and it was insane. Run those same perks outside of a SWF and it crumbles because you have zero information. What's the difference? The SWF can say the killer is doing this/that for the entire game. You always know what to do and where to go.
Furthermore I encourage you at some point to stream snipe a team of 4 players in a SWF that use active call outs (doesn't need to be Hens level). Imagine youl slug Jake and start a chase with Nancy; Jake will call out over voice coms , "not to worry friends I will use unbreakable if he keeps chasing you." The chase immediately ends and you hook Jake. Is that whole interaction fair? Actually yes that makes the SWF interaction feel "fair". When survivors called out that the shack generator was at 80% you could run over there and interrupt it.
Imagine for example if the killer could see who was linked with whom and what there perks were as a side effect of being in a SWF group. That would make SWF have a "cost". The problem with SWF has always been that it makes you instantly more efficient without any cost.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3334424#Comment_3334424
-"If both sides play perfectly the killer loses almost every time."
This is the reality. It is also raises the question : why should I play any killer besides Nurse/Blight?
DBD would be a far more interesting game for both sides if every killer that was Not Nurse/Blight had their MMR softcapped at ~1550 or lower. This would mean that if you are sitting beyond 1600 MMR as a survivor then nearly every game is against a nurse/blight.
Every other killer in the game would have a cap below that but could have a "float value" to surpass the soft cap if you keep winning. I personally feel Doctor is the weakest killer in the game so his MMR cap for example might sit around 1200 MMR. Trapper might rest around 1300 and you can fill in the rest.
Adding soft caps like this will never happen.
- Survivors would hate it because good players would have 95% of their games against "actually viable" killers /gasp. People who were bad at DBD would see a lot of the killer cast but the person you see playing Doctor would be good so you would be mad playing against a very good Doctor.
- It would make all the killers viable. This just won't do from a sales point of view. Have you noticed by the way that in order to play killer you need to buy the Killer and then you need about 5-6 DLC's to make a few possible viable gen regression builds? Furthermore have you noticed that Pinhead was released in September of 2021 and Deadlock has appeared in the shrine ZERO times since then?
Are you really trying to imply the old meta only worked with playing in a swf? Unbreakable at the most maybe, but to say bt/ds/dh only worked in swf is absolutely wrong.
But you're entire post is proving my original statement. Choosing your team is the strength of swf. The ability to coordinate perks. Comms or not that is the strength. The ability to see everything survivors see in the hud right now doesn't change that fact and almost means nothing with the scenario you mentioned with Jake or Nancy if they were solo with the hud update. Because you still can't communicate any of that stuff.

Did you pip though? I thought they decoupled that screen from pips and emblems so as far as I know it's completely pointless aside from adept achievements.
^ this is correct. The message displayed means nothing anymore outside of adepts.

Well ummm... Maybe make a mode that's actually, you know, fun? I don't really understand your argument.
If they rush it and just throw something together then of course it's not gonna be good. That's common sense.
This is not how development works. I'm working on a project that we developed for 12 months at my job, A lot of hard work and labor went into it with careful design consideration. And guess what our customers really hate it. We have to redesign the entire thing from scratch. If behavior did this, and it flops, the game would literally die from lack of updates to the base game and the teams internally are not set up in a way where this would even be feasible to work on things simultaneously

Both roles are stressful for entirely different reasons. You just happen to have a leg up than who you are matched with because you have previous experience on killer so you know general counters and tricks. People love to larp and say survivor is always easy but it's not, especially solo q.
Although I think it's funny when people say "I listen to music or do whatever when playing survivor" but I mean, I do that on killer too >.>

I got her adept first try, but I'm one away from the other achievement with downing while exposed with her drone that I'm gonna cheese (in which I cheesed 7 of the 9) and never touch her again. Her dailies will be up there with demo, hag, and twins that will be an auto reroll for me

I only dodge profiles that are private, or ones with vac bans, or epic games anonymous users. But that's assuming I'm even looking at the lobby, which is sorta rare because I ready up and do other things
-
I'm not trying to pick on you or be mean, because it's not just you who does it, but I feel like every post you make trying to prove something by constantly posting your end game screens. I get that you don't have a PC that can handle screen recording well, but end game screens show very little of the story and how you are actually playing the match and they really don't prove anything at all without actually being able to see the whole match itself.
I'm not saying she doesn't have issues, or she doesn't need QOL adjustments or buffs. But what I'd really like to see is the content of the match and how your actually playing because the constant factor in all of these games is yourself.

i think they will chase less now unfortunately. Eruption was incentivizing killers to chase more to proc the very strong/sometimes overpowering effect
I don't agree with this. A lot of killers kicked gens in the middle of chases/dropped chase to get eruption on it before resuming chase, if they didn't lose the person, or chase someone else. I'm not putting the blame solely on eruption for it - it's the overall gen kick meta we are in now.
Anecdotally, which I constantly have to say because everyone's experiences in this game are different, a lot of killers I face definitely don't chase as much or as well as they used to because the meta is realistically locking down a 3 gen on a lot of killers with gen kick perks. I have a running theory that a lot of newer players in the past year just have underdeveloped chase skills/game sense because of it, but that's really just what I noticed.

If the killer has a terror radius you can hang out by it to gain some bold points. If possible cleanse a totem, open a chest or do a gen in the radius as well. Find a toolbox and sabotage all hooks inside the terror radius. Find a flashlight and blind the killer until no charges.
If you are running Any Means Necessary just drop pallets and reset.
Miss skillchecks as much as possible whilst repairing until you can't get more objective points
This is a good way to max out on points but none of them mean anything in terms of emblems/pips.
To op - I'm pretty sure you can never pip or safety in iri ranks against an afk killer. You'll always depip.

Yeah it definitely can be read that way and that is a big part of what makes it so effective. Are the events depicted reality, or is it about familiar relations through a dark lens? That's really interesting and gives you more to chew on than like.....a ghost pops out and rips your fingers off.
Here's the thing I personally don't think it's effective at all in either lens. I really hate this movie. It's bad as a (slow burn) horror movie, and it's bad as a family drama. And I say this as a person who loves slow burn horror, and family dramas. Imo the only redeeming quality was the first 15 minutes and Toni's performance throughout, although not her best work. family drama comment was directly from Ari Aster, though, and I really do think it is intended to mostly be looked at through that lens.
That being said, going back to your original comment - a24 isn't really my favorite studio when they make their own stuff, nor do I have a positive light on them as a distributor. I personally think a dbd movie needs to be a popcorn flick/slasher, which doesn't really fit a24's MO anyways and blumhouse would be perfect for it. I don't think blumhouse is the best in the world either, and some movies coughGet Outcough are incredible

Hereditary is the greatest horror film of the decade.
I like how you're a stickler for calling happy death day a comedy thriller, and then proceed to call hereditary a horror movie, which it's mostly a family drama. Lol.
Also, a24 isn't a studio, so they don't make most of the movies they have under their belt, they mainly are a distributor.

I don't really see how they could do that without making the ptb useless for about half the survivor population, since groups of friends also want to try out playing against the new killer too. Not to mention the ptb usually does after a few days too when people get bored and just go back to live servers, so making a solo only ptb week wouldnt be that great of a solution.
Keep in mind there is no mmr in the ptb. You're just matched with whomever. They aren't real games, so DC if you really want to since there are no penalties. You can test the killer with the new bots as well.
And the same goes for pub matches.. if you're being run the entire game just drop the chase, try and find someone else. (Which, also, really isn't a swf problem - solo q people can loop too)

Doesn't Lightborn counter both flashlights and blastmine?
You still get the stun from blast mine, just not blinded (and you get the aura read too)

Okay, but what are you expecting Baby Dwight to pick in the first fifteen levels, then? Putting them in the shrine won't help.
Unless you're saying that universal perks should just be available for everyone at level 3. That'd be fair.
I'm suggesting the latter. Def not the shrine.
-
@RainehDaze said:
Not really much point; once you've maxed out a character for their perks (to P3), all future characters will run out of perks well before that point. You're never really going to stop at level 40, and none of the universal perks are that do-or-die, so why make them guaranteed?
IMO I think it might actually be beneficial for new players to have them right off the bat for every survivor/killer because they aren't really all bad and can be good basic perks for people, at least auto-unlocked at level 1. IE baby dwight, who got him up to level 15 to play him with his tutorial bps for his first match ever would benefit him to run kindred + bond + we'll make it + inner strength. Baby trapper at level 15 could run like fearmonger + agi + jolt + sloppy.
Selfishly, though, I p1'ed most of my characters before the prestige rework to bump them up to p3 for their teachables to be purple on everyone. It takes a full prestige, and maybe some flow-over into the next prestige depending on rng, to unlock every universal survivor perk to purple starting from level 1. And I'm tired of spending bps on characters because I feel the compulsion to have them all perked out lol.

I elaborated on my comments for your benefit, clearly a mistake.
I explained why there's more nuance to this than just opinion vs opinion - not taking that well is on you.
Good talk, indeed.
I'm chilling, but you essentially replied with "too much to read", so there really is not any point of going further since you seemed done with it, so this is my last reply. So, as you said "you do you".

For the Skill diff/MMR comment - again, the point is I never once complained about my ability to perform with Deathslinger. It was inferred incorrectly because I'm complaining about aspects of his design.
For the rest - you wrote too much and you're really on this subjective train when these elements can, in fact, be quantified much like OP already has. You do you.
So you have no real counter argument, got it. Good talk.

Yes. It is the same comment. That was the point.
And no, I don't think it's entirely subjective. You can look where the clunkiness is allocated to draw very obvious, objective conclusions about his gameplay loop:
Deathslinger has to wait to shoulder his weapon, he has to wait to unshoulder his weapon, has to wait in the form of decreased sensitivity to aim his weapon, he has to wait while he reloads, he has to wait while he gets into range because of his mismatched terror radius, and he has to do all of these things that make him slower while already being 4.4. All of Deathslinger's artificially increased waiting comes during the chase. It is awful design. Period.
I could preach it to death and people would still go, "Nah he's just fine. It's skill diff."
But I'm still going to preach it. Freddy, Billy, Slinger - none of them deserve the treatment they received. Anyone who thinks it's acceptable for so many killers to have such an awful pick rate are coping.
No, that did not seem like the point. To be honest. The times I can count on people saying a person on being low mmr facetiously I can count on a single hand. I re-read your comment and I genuinely read it sincerely again.
Yes, it is subjective. It really is. There is almost nothing objective in this game. I think slinger feels fine too and none of those things bother me or make me think he feels clunky. If you think he feels clunky for those reasons, it's fine. It really is. But stop acting like it's an objective fact that applies to everyone. I only have a handful of time on him before his nerf, and I actually agree with the nerf to ADS because it did feel bad from a survivor perspective - but I agree wholeheartedly with Ben's statements. I don't even think his increased TR nerf even really matters, personally, and I think I can take it or leave it.
Do I have things that annoy me with him? Sure, but that's just QOL stuff.
The same goes with billy - I think billy is FINE. I say this as a (former*) billy main. A lot of people think overheat is a negative, where I think it's objectively a positive thing and forces you to get good at his chainsaw, and once they buffed the engravings to not heat up as quickly, I can't even remember the last time I overheated that wasn't on purpose. His rework also introduced lo-pro's which are arguably one of the best designed addons in the game and one of the most fun addons to use. Now if we want to talk about how they "fixed" skybilly - that is something we can agree on. But my perception of billy is probably completely different for you.
I think wesker feels really clunky - I think he feels bad to play as, and against. I think the grab window is just a wee bit inconsistent. I think the large TR works against you a lot of the times, if you are going against 4 stealth players. I also think his power just overall is so damn boring. Skill issue? Perhaps. But he's pretty much universally received as a solid killer but I just don't see it.
But going back to the skill comment, I actually think it's a more valid comment than "oh you are just low mmr" for a lot of situations. This game takes skill and there are various skill floors and skill ceilings in the game and I think some people genuinely have a skill issue with things and just try to shut conversations down with what you said (ie 'low mmr!'). Whether or not this applies for you, I don't know. I have never even seen you play a game.
* unrelated to his power, I think he is boring now because I'm not challenged enough and to be frank, the good teams that play around double engravings are so far in between. so me and billy are on a break and I hope to find enjoyment in him again once mmr is more accurate, if that ever happens - but even then I'm still left with rng. -

Im all for powers over looks. She looks fine to me. But her power is so halariously bad.
Don't get me wrong, I'm the same way, I think she's boring power wise, and I couldn't care less about aesthetics/looks in general. But I think she looks cool despite that. Shrugs.

Real question - am I the only one who thinks she looks cool?
