The most important question is: when Hillbilly will have a skin that doesn't suck ass?

Glad to see I am not the only one, his outfits are so bad.

  • Cannot wait to be told "Soon" for the majority of the questions.

  • To be honest this just seems like a straight nerf suggestion. No one would use the add on if that was the change given to it, removing the one shot hatchet that people hate. Deep wound is not even worth being a Killers power, never mind an ultra rare add-on.

  • In all fairness, the past few dlc have been hyped about the perks more than the actually Killer themselves. The current dlc has hit me with next to no interest. The buffs 'they' need were not added and the current dlc is one i can walk away from with ease. I know people talk about 'not all killers should be op' but i still would like a solid B tier killer come out of future realises.
  • I have found "qq" is easier than "gg"

That's the smart move. Always wait for the first nerf wave.

Yep, wait til the hype dies down, people learn how to play around and with the Killer then I consider buying them. Pick up a few tips and builds while I wait so I am not a bambi in my first few games with them.

Camping and tunnelling are supported play styles by the devs so good luck with that.
Saying that, we do need dedicated servers, if Death Garden can get them, why not DBD since it actually has a larger player base.

I didn't realize DBD had some many network programmers. In all seriousness, it's a huge undertaking for a game built around P2P whereas Deathgarden was built around dedicated servers from the start. It would surely introduce a whole new plethora of bugs and we wouldn't get any new content for a while which would lead to the people complaining now about servers would be complaining about the bugs.

If you read above, I stated the issue would be budget and resources. My initial point was if they made death garden around servers, I wonder why they did not initially with DBD.

    Like every game I guess...

Yes indeed about the servers... is it because of budgets? too lazy to invest time ? I don't know..

I would most likely guess budget and resources, but I am not a dev so not exactly sure.

  • It is easier to explain bad gameplay if the other person is possibly cheating. You handed the streamer an excuse when you announced your were in chat, this makes it a lot easier for them to fall back on this excuse.

  • Same issue has before. Permission . You cannot go ahead and start reusing assets that are owned by another company. You need them to sign off on the usage of them. It could be either BHVR not pushing the paper work, or most likely a major company not prioritising a games request to use an asset.

  • @Incurable_BOFA said:
It's not like its a AAA game, what makes it so laggy?

A combination of poor optimisation on console updates with hardware and game engine issues. The update to the game engine should in theory offer improvement to fps and performance. Saying this, whether a AAA title or not, optimisation should never take as long as this has.

  • Surely you should be making a thread about why 3 other Survivors did not play the game correctly, not the fact the Killer....Killed.

  • @Cymer said:
Just take doctor and walk around in treatment mode. It will be a long game, you get around 20k BP for doing nothing then walk around and derank on top of it. Just chill and watch something on your 2nd monitor.

This. Although you want to derank quickly, you might as well get BP in the process and doc is most likely the surest way. Otherwise DC'n is the quickest way but you risk being banned.

im not complainging im just asking why you do it and wanting a real response

I do not personally do it but I would put it down to simply they are bad. Sick of trying for 4k games so they end up just going for at least a 1k. Or, they run into hook jumping teams so know that instead of going hunting, the Survivors will just come to them. Simple as that imo.

It is a lot easier to keep pushing a request back from patch to patch, rather than nerf a perk in which your majority player base use. If we have already waited two years for a nerf, the nerf for DS will come around the last part of DBD play cycle.

    Really?
So tell me why is it so easy to nerf BBQ?
That's a perk the majority of KILLER is using, but it gets nerfed… again.
And they do that without the blink of an eye.

There is a bigger Survivor player base than Killer.

So it is ok, to cater the majority and ignore the needs of the minority, despite the game needs both to be played?

I personally do not believe so, and never stated that I did. As a Killer main, I feel the pain of this decision. Unfortunately my opinion means less than yours and BHVR thinks it is perfectly fine.

Which is still wrong and should be expressed as such.
Maybe some day it will sink into their stubborn brains.

Agreed it is wrong, it fuels the toxic behaviour between Killers and Survivors but despite that it is smart business, as much as I hate that term. It is a lot better for your business to listen to the majority than go against them.

It would also be a smart business to build a game that has a good reputation for being balanced and fun.

Very true sir, but we deal in band-aids here on a BHVR game, why fix it when you can just patch in more bullshit to make the old issues look not so bad. Example, BT looks a hella lot more OP now than DS cause of the coming patch.

  • There is no "rest" to get. Cosmetics are exactly that, cosmetics, you do not need them to receive the full Legion gameplay. As for new voices, unless you get bored of hearing the same grunt from a Killer, I do not see your problem.

  • You mean I can get called a try hard killer in the moment? Instead of waiting til after the game?! Sure why not :D

  • Blocking hooks is not a bug, it is intended. As much as I hate it, it is supposed to be in the game, it is not down to bad coding.
Also, the typo things, although is unprofessional...it is not really a big deal, and does not effect game play what so ever.

  • Be sure to tune into the dev streams where you will get the very informative answer of..."soon."

  • @ConclaveHighOverlord said:
it says nowhere thats the only way to win nor is it the best way

Nor does it state anywhere that people cannot play this way, or in fact play any way that you would prefer. People camp and tunnel. If it gets them there wins that is not there problem, it is yours. No one is going to change how they play, because like @MhhBurgers stated, they are not here to let you have fun, they play for there own enjoyment.

  • Are you talking about insta flashlight saves? If so, no not everyone was having fun and were happy...Survivors were the only ones having a jolly old time!

  • It is not an exploit. It is one method a Killer can use to avoid your little flashlight. You are not entitled to a save 100% of the time, so if the Killer has a way of avoiding your attempt, you got outplayed. Nothing more, nothing less.

  • This just in, not all video games are a true representation of real life...who'da'thunk'it!?

    Rules for most killers:

    1. Dont understand its better to change target after getting carried around for like 4 gens -- make it personal - throw the game away - survivor who "destroyed" your game has to pay

    2. let boosted trash escape occasionally as "i'm" a generous god - camp and tunnel people who are better since they have to pay for destroying my experience

    3. Sometimes experiment with the ping, 150 more is enough in most cases

    4. Im ######### but im gonna abuse nurse - since everyone thinks nurse is hard to play thanks to untalented people like tru3c4mp1ng people even type GG after i abused the ######### out of the most broken killer to be in this game.

    Youre welcome.

As a Killer main, I approve this translation.

I think it's common knowledge at this point that the developers don't play their own game and rely on data gathering when making decisions.

Said it before in another thread https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/11734/lets-play-killer-day-for-the-developers but I want to say it again, the developers NEED to play their own game, against ACTUAL PLAYERS, in order to better understand it.

So far the only dev ive seen play at red ranks was not_Queen. She plays atleast around rank 4-ish on both survivor and killer

She is only a community manager all due respect. She does not really have any say on how the game is actually developed from a game play standing. She can only really air our issues.

+1 this. A dev team that does not play there own game at high and low level will never understand what is the best move for there game. Data does give you a the bare stats, but that is it. Players are not just blank numbers, and we need a dev team that is out there and that understands the issues that we raise. Although I do disagree that they should pass the game onto another team, they really need to get a section of the devs playing a genuine amount of DBD to even understand what is going on.
Also, scrap the blessed meme of "Soon TM." When a community wants answers or actual updates, loading up a stream and just saying "soon" to every question is a joke.

  • If the game has 2 DC, I usually let the remaining two go, or I have gained 3k in less than a few minutes I will let the last Survivor farm and grab the hatch. Otherwise everything else is fair game imo.

  • So your idea for balance, is not balanced in the first place? Seems legit.

  • If you are actively AFK'ing then yes, it is bannable.

  • No. This game already has a feel of early access with the amount of issues and patch then repatching. BHVR has to at least have a solid game that the community is happy with before I would even consider paying a fee.

What s the point of rank system

That is the real question tbh.

Rank 1 means you can play decent game with decent players

Hardly, it is not hard to rank up. Rank is basically based on play time and not skill, meaning anyone with half decent game knowledge and playtime can hit rank 1-3. Red ranks are toxic as all hell as well.
As for my original reply, I am implying that there is no reward or purpose to the rank system, so what even is the point?

  • @Slayer said:

  • Anything besides; Gen rush, 4 man flash squads or general toxic behaviour is fine with me. Looping is a pain but mostly all Survivors get cocky and mess up at some point.

No one mentioned Deliverance? And you're missing the point. If you are last hooked, chances are the Killer would still stand by you, in case of a Kobe off the hook. So if you do hop-skip and jump off the hook, you are getting downed within a few seconds anyway. The OP was about not dying straight away, whether you die to the Entity of the Killer, you are most likely not getting a free escape when you are last alive.

So hooks near the hatch or near the open gate would be terribly dangerous to the killer and would force him to camp.
Kobe try, maybe delieverance… missed timing on the hit and free exhaustion relief would equal a free escape.
Maybe the killer didn't even mess up the timing and hits during invu, but the broken invu keeps lasting while the survivor is already running (happend to my multiple times).
And if the hatch is close enough, the killer can even down the guy and the victim will jump into the hatch during the weapon cooldown animation.

    Sorry, but big NONO.
Please no more ways to screw the killer… we already have to many of them.

This is basically my point, if you hook next to the hatch and the gates then you will be ready for a Kobe and I would like to think that since you can see the Kobe animation you would not mess up the down. Hatch stand off is a thing unfortunately so that is the Killers call if they want to waste 30+ mins on a kill.
Survivors have enough ways of getting the escape, if you are last alive, take the loss and move on.

  • This just reminds me of the good old Call of Duty days, such immaturity. Simpler times.

    1) killer could mess up and swing early. 2) I want the points

Mess up what? Camping the hook? Regardless if he swings early, chances of you Kobing off the hook and him not insta-downing you again are very, very slim. Also, your second point, I could care less what you want, you are not entitled to free points. If the Killer hooks all three Survivors, and then downs you, regardless of your earlier contribution, he surely is more entitled to his 4k than you hopping into a hole in the ground, just because you are last alive?

I didn’t know asking to be able to use my deliverance, when I was able to survive till last, AND it USED TO ACTUALLY EXIST (not some new thing I want) is far from blind entitlement

  • In my years of gaming I have read some elitist stuff, but this is definitely one of the best. Instead of understanding that people will filter to a low tier skill level, and allowing them to learn by actively playing the game...we just drop a ban on them? LolKThn
