It's a cheap "get out of jail" card that punishes killer for doing their job. Survivors that use this only have it because they can't properly avoid the killer.
And people say it's to combat tunneling, but tunneling is a myth, as it's just a legit strategy since it's always better to go after the hooked survivor since they're injured. gen rushing is what dbd should combat.
Just use Pyramid Head. :)

Space coconut is going off on my forum post about this cause he supports and Im guessing is taking part in the tunneling and bullying of Lisa players.
He's a biased killer main. I've never seen him play survivor at all. I'm not surprised he doesn't understand some of the stuff on the survivors side and only supports killers. No matter the argument.
-
Both sides have their challenges that they'll face through-out each match. I think its unfair to say this game caters to one side or the other. The game will never be balanced and its still fairly buggy.

They wouldnt, the extra advantages are that you get instant BBQ after a down and not just BBQ, it can synergize very well with other perks too, Devour Hope for instance, Huntress lullaby, Make your choice. I personally wouldnt mind but as i said survivors will probably see as huge advantage. I can already see the post about it.
Yeah I can definitely see how hook perks could give advantages now.

@Grim said:
@thesuicidefox uh can you not read? Moris and losing hook states are both hook effects.
So if moris shouldn't work cos they're hook effects than cages shouldn't take hook states
The thing is is that, perks the synergize with the hooks don't work on cages. So why should Moris work on cages when hook perks don't?

Thats the point of the cage, if makes it so every perk works then you would have and easy instant hook and also easy BBQ and easy Pop it would basically give extra advantages to the killer and i dont think survivors would be so cool with that.
How would BBQ and Pop give extra advantages?
-
I can't wait to blind a killer and have confetti pop out :)
-
Why don't all hook perks apply to cages. If the cage takes away a hook state its basically a hook.

@Orion said:
You're playing a new character, meaning you have fewer perks, meaning you'll be the easier target. This happens every single time. It happens to people trying out the new killer in the PTB as well.
Let's be honest. Who has that idea come to mind when they play killer and the new survivor is in their lobby.
-
Hes a decent killer, just wait. Once some big shot content creator finds a good build for him, all the "pRiMaD hEad wEak buFF PLzzz" threads will be gone. And all the Pyramid Head player's will be running that build and get 4K's every match.

They did it with DC penalties, and i'm tired of hearing this argument.
Name a single other multiplayer game that allows you to sucide/remove yourself from the game while playing ranked.
DotA
LoL
CS:GO
Rainbow 6
Every MMO
All of these games have punishments for leaving games early or intentionally "feeding" (killing yourself on purpose) some of these penalties are extremely hefty. DotA/LoL/CS:GO will actually ban you for several days for doing it, and if you keep doing it your ban eventually escalates to permanent.
The moment you queued up, you signed up to play a game of Dead by Daylight. If you don't like the game or can't finish it, don't queue up. If you don't like how solo survivors play, play with friends. When you queued up for a solo queue game, you signed up for it.
I don't get why people are so caught up in other people's business in this game. If someone doesn't enjoy their match. They don't have to stay. Let the person be and have them suicide on hook.

I just had a Oni game and holy moly, YELLOW flashlights were blinding me in literally 0.3 seconds. Did Flashlights got a buff cuz it shouldnt be like that
Yeah, someone shined a purple flashlight into my eyes for like half a second and nearly got blinded.

Exactly why this game shouldn't have a DC Penalty. To many possibilities all to prevent one of them.

Everyone prefers any map over Hawkins.

I just got mori'd after being sent to a cage. If hook perks don't work with cages, neither should mori which requires hooks.
"Grants the ability to kill one/all Survivors who have been hooked by your hand during the next Trial."
This is the exact description for Ivory/Ebony. It's honestly bull ######### this even works.
Completely agree. They should either remove the fact mori's are a exception to this or make ALL hook perks not a exception.

Wasn't offense cause he was an Asian guy? Asians went through the same, if not worse than african americans did. Regardless - intent is everything. People need to stop looking at something like a costume of a specific character and calling it racist. I think even with "blackface" a clear line needs to be drawn. For example - Jimmy Fallon. Twitter wokenerds tried to get him "canceled" because he wore "blackface" on SNL 20 years ago. Most of them knew Jimmy Fallon is about as far as you can get from racist and that it would never work...but the fact that they tried is nonsense. He didn't wear blackface. He wore a costume of a specific character/person.
There is a difference.
Ok my mistake, I had no idea it was offensive to a Asian. I look pretty stupid right now. I said it wasn't offensive to Asians because you'll never see anyone trying to make fun of Asian people by painting their face yellow. It was mainly African Americans that had that happened to them which is why I said it wouldn't be offensive to them. My apologies...

Okay - I'll give you an opinion. Jake is Asian. Nobody complains.
There, I literally took the logic of anyone who could be offended by and and smashed it into bits.
People complain about Bubba wearing Claudette's face because people assume it's blackface which is a thing that happened in the early 1900s.
If you were to paint your face yellow to represent a Asian person it wouldn't be offensive, you'll just look stupid. But if you were to paint your face black to represent a African American, it'll come off as offensive and you'll get hate.
Basically I'm saying if you were to cover your face in any color to represent a certain group of people it won't really be offensive unless they're Black.

So because you're mad that a character you don't like got put in the game you're gonna relentlessly tunnel and camp them? Literally hope you get banned lol
Killers are all about getting "revenge" on survivors. Genuinely childish, and annoying.

Do gens.
On a serious note, I'm going to do this tonight.
Probably more than once.
I wonder how the devs will fix it.
No I'm not going to do gens. If you have 5 braincells you can easily get at least a 2k from facecamping cages. The devs should fix this.
-
Just make it so that he can't quickscope and hes fine in my book
-
Geistra and Zubat for survivor.
I can watch anyone for killer.
-
Above average survivor and a average killer. Recently have been playing solo que, and practicing my nurse skills.
-
I don't care what anyone says, but Billy can be stupid strong with the right stuff.
-
I thought this was a case of "Sweaty killer gets clapped by survivors" Then I saw your guy's build.
-
All I'm saying is be grateful if you get a non-toxic SWF. They are rare and if they wanted to, they could be extremely optimal and sweaty and ruin your matches.
-
I used to be very concerned about it. Now its really whatever, theres a lot more stuff I'm worrying about other than this quarantine.

yes continue camp - tunnel show how bad you are bb killer, dont cry when others do same with you, gen too is strategy for surv so bb killers stop crying every day, git gud
At that point people who camp regularly want attention. Best you can do is ignore them...
-
Claudette is definitely bisexual, I'm calling it! Meg and Nea are secretly in a relationship. And I have a feeling Jeff might be bisexual also.

Hearing a pallet stun a killer.

No...

Oni, Huntress, Demo, and Freddy can probably do the most damage.

Stay tuned, there's another story thread coming about another Ghostface, though that one might take a while because I have something to do for a few hours.
I was up against a Ghostface in Dead Dawg Saloon, a map I've rarely played. I was a little annoyed because my build is literally just aura-reading perks, half of which are intended to show me the killer (plus Kindred, which also shows teammates), but ######### happens.
I reached the generator above the saloon, but I couldn't see very well around me if I was repairing it. Since I'm a cautious player, I decided to avoid repairing it unless I knew where he was. I saw him chase someone, so I started the repairs.
After a few seconds he downed the survivor he was chasing and hooked her right next to the saloon, so it was obvious which gen he was going to go for next. I waited until he was on the stairs and dropped down through a hole to unhook, then I ran away to attract him.
He came back to check the hook while Undetectable and didn't seem interested in my scratch marks, so I revealed him to try to take the heat off the survivor I'd unhooked. No such luck. Still, I could finish repairing that gen while he chased and re-hooked her.
Fast-forward a bit, I still hadn't been spotted by Ghostface, but my SWF teammate had and was Exposed. I revealed him during the chase again, but he didn't care (obviously), so I went to take a hit for him. Fortunately, I managed to bodyblock just long enough for the Exposed status effect to go away, yet he still didn't chase me. I went to get some healing and got back on gens.
Meanwhile, my SWF teammate was downed, hooked, camped, and hit on the hook repeatedly. This is where the killer starts to give others a bad name. There was no reason to hit my friend on the hook, he doesn't BM in any way. I kept working on gens while the others mounted a rescue. Much to my surprise, they succeeded, but the survivor who was on death hook was eventually caught and hooked once more.
We finish repairing all the gens and reach a gate as she's being sacrificed in the basement, but I screw up. I thought he would be coming to this gate, so I hid nearby and waited. Turns out he'd gone for the other one. I open the gate and go down just as it opens - NOED (another screw up, we didn't destroy the totems). Still, gate's open and the other two escape while I'm being hooked. He hits me on the hook repeatedly as I'm being sacrificed.
In the chat, I ask him why he hit me on the hook and he says "because u suck", or something along those lines. I tell him he only saw me twice - once when I took a hit for my friend and the second time at the gate - and that I hadn't BMd him in any way, but he doesn't respond. I don't know if he left at this point, but I said that he's the reason killers get a bad rep before leaving myself.
I still don't get what I did that was so offensive to him since he only saw me twice throughout the trial.
Probably just a upset child. Or he got bullied in his last match. All you can really do is ignore it.

Anything Slug Related.
-
Most red rank survivors are either really bad, crutch on their perks, or are solo. And when they're good I want a challenge. No thank you.
-
A casual game like this that has way to many bugs shouldn't have a DC penalty. Period.
-
Spirit as a whole is a overhyped killer.
-
Clip it and report it.

When I play survivor yeah I literally always get positive messages. When I play killer I get one gg a month. The rest are death threats, racist slurs, homophobic comments and just toxic messages. At one point I just turned my xbox messages off. I recently turned them back on cuz why the hell should I have to turn them off. I report them obviously but one time I tried telling a dbd help person but they said there's nothing they can do. I dunno I just thought it Maybe if I showed them the gamer tag and the evidence of them hurling homophobic comments they would have Maybe banned him. Like I know it's not an in game thing but you'd think they wouldn't want people like that playing there game.
Irrelevant but relevant question. Can XBOX have spaces in their usernames?

Of course you are not salty. Totally not salty.
Good luck getting good with the nurse, the most boring killer in the game 👍️
Nurse is far from boring but whatever.
-
Thats why being a good survivor against leatherface is the worst thing to do. They all resort to facecamping cause they can abuse the fact you'll die no matter what. They should really rework his power.
-
No thank you. I don't want Behavior supporting pedophiles and child abusers. :)
-
Just nod and smile at that point.
-
Personally I don't have a issue with either. Unless someone tries to abuse their DS.
-
Old BT was balanced...
-
None, once in a while I get a actual good SWF group.
-
Hate it. Especially since Kate's hair looks bad now. I used to play her once in a while, now its on a rare occasion. Same goes with Meg's and Feng's hair, and others.
-
Last time I seen that gen spawn was late 2018.
-
Thats very epic...
-
Don't blame you. Personally I wouldn't do it but still.
