You know why they play Blendette - they're bad at the game and rely entirely on being hidden.
I don't see why you'd want to hide all game anyway because there are more rewards and points available for having chases. Or maybe they all earn their boldness points for cleansing totems...
-
4k because I've completed my objective
-
I really think breakable walls are terrible. So you can waste time breaking them at the start of the game on the off-chance a survivor might loop there and you can be prepared, or you can break it in a chase which also wastes time.
-
Yeah I can't believe they didn't fix it in the bug fix. My game could be going so well then it'll put me in a bad mood when the game kills me.
-
It's definitely a meme perk. I was playing in a 4 man swf and we thought to all play no mither and ended up going against a Freddy and 3 of us escaped ๐
-
I do. Sometimes I'll be proud of a killer all game because they were genuinely a good killer but gens got the better of them. Then they'll have noed so I start laughing because they were doing so well and just ruined it for themself.
-
I enjoyed double bloodpoints. I finally got all my survivors to prestige 3 and now they all have halloween event items on them ๐
-
I play on Xbox and not on crossplay so I recognise most people I play with. I recognise the survivors that dc a lot, there's one survivor and whenever he has a chase that lasts less than the duration of one generator then he'll dc. He will also dc if someone uses shack pallet. He throws over so many games and it's stupid.
-
I think people got out of the habit of playing him when he was bugged, right before his rework. Playing him while he was bugged was horrible and I think people lost interest in him, and then the nerf just ruined any interest in him even more.
-
Lag is ruthless in this game and can be game changing. I've had games where lag kills me in struggle stage on hook, or I've had games where my survivor gets stuck in the animation of throwing down a pallet and then I just go down out of no where.
-
Time played doesn't reflect skill, although there can be a correlation. I have people on my Xbox friends list who have way more hours on dbd than me but have less escapes and less kills than me, either this is because they just leave their game open and don't play it which increases their time played, or they might just be a weaker player.
I have way more hours than one of my friends but he is more skilled than me and better at looping, yet I have more escapes than him.
-
You didn't need to specifically categorise this as console players. The platform someone is on doesn't change how they play.
-
Hex Ruin used to be a very strong perk- when repairing a generator, if you hit a good skill check it would regress the generator, and if you hit a great skill check it wouldn't give any additional progress. I had plenty of killer games where survivors would throw away the whole game trying to cleanse my hex ruin.
-
Honestly this game is so weird, some days I'll get face camped every single game, other days I'll escape every game. So for you it's just 'one of those days', normally if I'm having a bad day I'll wait to play again the next day.
-
I agree with this so much, they update their game frequently to try to maintain interest but it just damages the game. When they released the Blight the game was straight up unplayable and I didnโt play until the bug fix, but then they update the game so soon after the bug fix that there are just more bugs.
-
I can't stand that game. I've played it a few times and every game I played, someone would just immediately call an emergency meeting and vote random people out. It really wasn't fun.
-
Yeah medkits have been bugged for a while, definitely for months, green medkits and a gel dressing addon (16 charges) don't heal entirely on the 2nd heal, I get 299 heal points and it's annoying because I need to find someone to finish healing me.

I will never tunnel someone for playing a certain character, but if you're playing Claudette you can be sure you won't get hatch lol
Yeah, it's crazy how destroyed her reputation is, if I get a daily ritual as her I just feel dread
-
I like people's mixed opinions, I just wish some people weren't so vicious in delivering their opinion
-

Claudette. Not because of the character but her players are the most toxic potatoes I've ever seen in a videogame.
I had to play Claudette for a daily ritual not too long ago, I specifically have a bright outfit for her so people don't assume I'm playing blendette, and I still got tunneled for playing her, probably because the killer assumed I was toxic
-
I'd remove Kate, she really agitates me
-

Remove Quinten then bring him back not looking like Gollum
I think they should just replace him with Gollum, I'd prefer that
-
I play ds in every build, and if some days I'm being slugged a lot then I'll throw on unbreakable but I don't normally play that perk. One time I had a Freddy message me saying 'damn bro you playing that small pp build', I don't force these perks in killers faces, I use them when they need to be used.
-
I quite like this perk idea, it'd be a really good counter to generators popping instantly, however if all survivors start together and a killer plays infectious fright, that could instantly destroy a game. I also feel like more people would dc because there are quite a few survivors who tend to dc if they go down quite quick.
-
Pallets are ridiculous too, compare his pallets to doctor's. Doctor's pallets are still effective because a survivor might think there's a pallet but then it disappears, I still get survivors down thanks to illusionary pallets but with Freddy's pallets survivors have to interact with them which is ridiculous
-
I think it's if someone goes out of their way to ruin your game. So if I'm playing killer I'd consider a toxic survivor as someone who doesn't leave me alone because they want to go out of their way to upset me or bully. And as survivor I'd consider a toxic killer as someone who's purposely trying to upset survivors or get them killed by tunelling or camping.
-
I think dc penalties are ridiculous and need to be permanently disabled because it doesn't stop people from dc'ing, it only stops people who dc loads but I really don't think that's the case with anyone, and people get a penalty even when it's not their fault

I play on xbox so I didn't know, hopefully they see about that person then

If you wanna know who you are going against then look under recent players for consoles. I don't know about pcs tho sorry.
It's bugged on Xbox for me, it used to work but now recently played never updates on dbd
-
I'm working on getting every survivor to P3 level 50 but I wish I just hadn't bought Quentin. I hate him so much and I play so bad as him and I really don't know why. He's p2 at the moment and I really can't be bothered getting him to p3.
-
I wish in-game chats could be reported to the devs so they could've read what that person said
-
I was playing swf with my friends, the game was bugged when it loaded in and said the map name and got stuck on that. None of us could move, two of my friends dc'd but that didn't change anything. Me and my other friend stayed there. Idk how long we waited for the killer to dc.
-
I'm a purple rank killer, almost red rank, and last night I was getting brown rank survivors. Games were funny because of course they were baby survivors, but I felt bad because I wouldn't want them to get a bad impression of the game or feel like they're bad.
-
I just wish he had more bottles, maybe around 7 or 8 and then Redhead's pinky finger should have reduced bottles. My idea for his passive slowdown could be like doctor's, and survivors could get drunk which hinders them and their vision, and skill checks can be weird, then they have to 'sober up', I'm not sure that would be too good, but drunk survivors would be funny
-
It should deactivate if you're on a generator or jump in a locker. Too many survivors try to distract me by jumping in and out of a locker so they can use their ds, and it really annoys me when someone sits on a gen so you can grab them, I know I can lunge to them but out of impulse I end up grabbing them
-
The bushes in that map are so disgusting, hiding in that map is great
-
Crouching makes survivors quieter when injured, this can sometimes work with Jeff because although he's loud, his voice is deep, whereas Ash's groan is quite hoarse so even if I was to crouch, his pitch would give my position away
-
Most survivors jump in lockers to avoid tombstone, and this achievement isn't one you can farm to get. A few of the killer achievements you can farm with, but you can't expect 4 survivors to let you mori them.
-
I love the spurts of hair coming out of her body, and the furry rabbit mask, the eyes look good too
-
Pig
I seem to be really good as her despite her being considered weaker. I play sloppy butcher for slow healing and then the traps also waste time. I also play ruin and surveillance, when I get undying as a teachable I'll use that but at the moment I just use BBQ
-
Definitely being left to die on hook, especially if I'm playing kindred. Normally I assume that teammates thought someone else was going to get me, but with kindred it's just ignorant and selfish. Luckily I play on xbox so I can remember the gamertags of poor teammates and can return the favour ๐

Toxicity and frustration is unfortunately a part of the game, there is no better solution than turning off every chat function (don't know about Xbox messages, but you can turn off chat ingame on PC and in Steam) and getting used to tbagging and clicky clicky. At some time you will not bother about it anymore. It's mostly just people who want to take the aggro for their mates. See it as a test, don't let it discourage you and focus on your matchplan. Of course you can facecamp that guy or girl but personally, i wouldn't throw the match because i feel offended, or only in very extreme cases. Try to be above such things, your game experience will be much better if you just don't care anymore about the bullshit that is going on in this game and just do your thing :) i know it's easier to say than to do but it will get easier with time.
Matchmaking is a ######### and since they turned off the MMR it's as before. I don't know anything about Huntress, but i can give you the advice to watch some streamers and see how they are doing things, it helped me a lot. Watch otzdarvas videos about the add ons and perks, he also has a video for killers who have problems in red ranks. Basically, playing killer against good survivors is managing your time, your hooks, while you're chasing that Meg you have to think about what Feng and Ace are doing, how far that gen already is, kinda like that. Don't chase someone too long, change targets. Only some small tipps coming to mind right now.
On xbox there used to be a feature to mute message requests so I wouldn't know if someone had messaged me until hours later and I probably wouldn't care what they had to say, but now they can't be muted anymore so on top of being a bad mood after a game I see the messages too.
I don't like giving toxic survivors their fun and bloodpoints and escapes, hence me facecamping them if I do encounter them because I struggle enough without the toxic survivors.

I read your reasoning, you cant defend toxicity with toxicity.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Golden rule.
Anywho, you want to get better with a new killer, do what many of us do.
Take the early L's and keep readying up. You will get better.
And dont let survivors tilt you. Hook the clicky tbaggers and go hunt down their friends. You won't get better face camping.
Facecamping is a rarity because I normally lobby dodge if there are 4 survivors with flashlights or if I know they're a swf.
I think what I dislike about killer is that the first games are super easy because the survivors a quite new, don't know how to loop and getting a 4k is easy but then as I rank up the games are less rewarding and way more stressful. I wish I could just dodge the mean messages on xbox because I don't see why people feel the need to tell someone they're bad

I have been doing corrupt, whispers, bamboozle, and iron maiden. Iron maiden is more of a comfort pick so I can spam hatchets and could be switched for whatever else you want. I probably would not go into a game without either corrupt or discordance. You need one of the two to stop 2-3+ gens popping while you find and get your first down.
Really good huntress players don't need bamboozle to get fast hits at jungle gyms / shack but I don't feel like investing the time into learning how to get them (not a huntress main) so bamboozle keeps it simple for me.
I usually do exhaust hatchets because dead hard is super annoying and you may as well use them before they are nerfed.
Yes haha I live for berus toxin
Discordance stresses me out and makes me feel hopeless every game, and I prefer corrupt because it stops 3 gens popping after I hook my first survivor ๐ I've never actually used bamboozle apart from when I did adept clown, so that could be interesting to try on huntress

@kaeru said:
I'm huntress main. Can't say i'm a good huntress because I still can miss all 5 hatchets sometimes. But I can give some advice.
Patience. Most important thing you should learn as huntress is be patient when you wind up hatchet. Survivors often expect you throw hatchet right after wind up. Hold hatchet for couple of seconds longer and you notice survivor juking. Aim carefully and shot when you see his next move clearly. Fully charged hatchet is so fast is literally unavoidable for next 15 meters if you don't miss. Being patient at throwing hatchets is a key for being good huntress.
Meelee hatchets. Huntress is type of killer who rarely use her main weapon. Hatchets are more important than axe. When you hit someone with your main weapon, you get long ass fatigue. When you throw hatchet you are almost instantly ready to make another throw or hit. So when you get close to survivor and he trying to juke you under your feet, don't hit him with axe. Throw hatchet and finish him with axe. Don't worry if you miss. You have multiple hatchets to try again. Sometimes huntress doing crazy instadowns without any exposing tools.
Reloading. Huntress is slow killer, she is harmless without hatchets. If you have no hatchets and survivor reached safe loop - give up the chase and reload. Don't commit to long chase without hatchets. Trust me, you will waste more time chasing without hatchets than if you reload and find survivor again.
Perks. Huntress is more like m2 killer, so she doesn't benefit from m1 perks. Such as Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, NOED, etc. I'm personally using 4 detection perks. BBQ, Nurses calling, Discordance, Whispers. You can change some of that on slow down perks like pop or ruin. Whispers is best tracking perk. It doesn't really help to find exact location of survivor. But when whispers are not lit, you know that no one there. So you don't waste time looking for survivors in wrong places. It helps find survivors quickly at match start. And it helps to find last survivor after 3k.
Longshots. Good huntress can do crazy longshots on open maps. Survivors rarely expect ranged hatchet from other side of map. If you see someone's aura with BBQ or Bitter murmur, and you know there is no big obstacles on your way, give it a shot. Sometimes it works and this is probably best feel in the dbd. It also works when survivor break chase with you and running far away. If he doesn't look behind he don't expect you try to snipe him. Always pay attention to horison line. You can often notice clueless survivor who didn't see you yet. Also since lullaby is not directional you often can see survivors trying to hide on wrong side of obstacle.
This was really good advice, thank you. My biggest flaw as huntress is just tapping LT so I don't get charged hatchet throws, only because I want to avoid the habit of holding up a hatchet for ages because I feel like that's a habit I could easily fall into.
I used to use whispers on pig so I knew when to use her stealth ability but I become so forgetful with that perk, but I'll still try it on huntress

I don't like huntress on console. DBD does not have the excessive aim assist that most other FPS games on console have, so you will need to be really precise with the controller. Same with Nurse, Clown, and Deathslinger. To beat good players, all will require extremely quick shots aimed through windows while you are moving around loops; something very hard to do without the ability to easily moonwalk.
As a 110 killer and with a huge lullaby radius, she gives some of the most warning in the game to survivors to find a hiding spot. I usually run whispers on her because people love to hide from her. I don't like pop on her, it's not bad but she doesn't really have the mobility to be a generator controller. BBQ is also mediocre, she doesn't have the mobility to run chase to chase and unless you are going for cross map hatchets it's not that helpful in the grand scheme of things.
I just go for a more murder oriented playstyle with her. Get a hook, attempt to get a slug, and then try to snowball because you can't really unhook in her face. Of course, im not anywhere close to a huntress main but I do play a ton of killer and those are my thoughts on her.
Yeah I was temporarily a clown main but games eventually became impossible to win with him.
I use my perks based off of Tru3Ta1ent, and I like to have gen pressure perks but I don't think any of them really work on huntress because getting to generators in time to use pop is difficult and ruin would basically be useless on her because she doesn't really push people off gens.
What perks would you recommend?

I love when people see red rank or 3k hours and expect that you put all of these 3k hours into the same character or reached red rank by only playing that one...
Just think to yourself "that guy is totally oblivious and judges on lacking information" and go ahead. Teaching them is a waste of time as they won't learn anyway, they prefer to rant and yell instead of listen or think.
Yes, with current ranking, learning new killers can be pretty horrible, I notice that with each new chapter when going for the killer adept :P But I'm afraid you either have to wait until MMR is working (because as I understood, they take stats anyway right now and that will push you higher when it is eventually activated) or you just push through and expect some losses to begin with.
On Huntress specifically I cannot give any advice, I hate playing her XD But for example just for training, you can use Bitter Murmur to train some ranged shots, the king's discipline of Huntress :P Also BBQ combined with Iron Maiden is good, to counter the basic counter to BBQ and she has great value from the faster locker opening as well (it also decreases the hatchet refill animation by 50%). To maximise her snowball potential (although people might hate you then ;) ) the Infectious Fright + Deerstalker combo might work well.
Yeah I have 1654 hours on dbd, but on xbox I made my profile quite private so people can't see my dbd stats unless they're my friend. It feels like I can't make any more progress on huntress, and I can't kill anyone above green rank survivors. I'm a red rank survivor so that helps because I know that red rank survivors bait a lot, so if a survivor tries to bait a window vault I'll throw to the side but sometimes I miss.
Also her hitboxes at close range really aren't helpful and I lost a game the other day because of it.
I was in Haddonfield and a Jake was injured, he threw down a pallet and I threw a hatchet but it went through him. That hatchet miss gave him and his friends time to run to hatch and jump out in my face, 3 of them did that and the other person left through the gate, I haven't played huntress since then ๐

had basically the same experience right down to most of your huntress loadout.
a couple things: nurse's calling is one of if not the best perk to run on huntress it helps you figure out hit boxes which is probably why you are losing in the first place. bbq can be amazing on huntress but only if u can hit your shots if not and your fine on bp you might need to pick something else maybe bitter murmur or rancor? you don't really need more than one gen slowdown perk ever pick pop or corrupt not both.
if you dont accept that you will derank due to lack of experiance you're going to have a bad time maybe switch between your best killers your mediocre and you worst and go back again or just try one game a day or something so you dont feel as bad about losing 20 games in a row due to mismatched skill
I don't mind deranking as killer (apart from the sound of 'entity displeased') it's more the messages and people thinking they're god tier players or calling me bad when of course I'm gonna be bad because I recently only started to play Huntress. Sadly I don't have nurses as a teachable, I'm very reluctant to put points into nurse since I'm probably never gonna play her but I know I need to get her teachables eventually. I use bbq so I know where to go to use my pop and to find my next survivor
