Basically: Salty Killer main gets outplayed by a 4 man SWF with communication (Which by the way isn’t against the rules) so he uses an Ebony Mori, which is notoriously unbalanced.

People like you just make the game unpleasant for those who want to enjoy the game. I suppose you got so used to dealing with brain dead solo survivors that you don’t even have the skill to deal with SWF.

I suppose you're that survivor main who uses a key for himself early on in the game, allowing the killer to close it and pressure survivors because of the EGC.

In all seriousness, I don't appreciate it when a survivor/killer main fights about the other side when they probably haven't tried it out at all, it's quite ignorant. That's why I listen to the opinions/constructive arguments from people who've stated that they play both sides, particularly at red ranks, because they have the stronger opinion/argument from experience.

  • Ironically, playing dead by daylight allows me to forget about the darkness going on in the world so I can find some fun. The media has an annoying habit of portraying false and exaggerated negativity all over social media, it's very annoying. So dead by daylight is my escapism.

  • I think it's quite broad and unfair to compare a ######### strategy in a video game to innocent people who lose their lives because of countries attacking each other. It's such a sensitive comparison to make I'd be careful if I were you. I'm not trying to appear condescending but just please make sure you know what suitable comparisons you are making.

  • I've been getting burnt out of dbd a lot lately, however I always try and build up the motivation to play every now and then. The motivation comes back when I'm playing with a friend, a new tome releases, a chapter release or any PTB's.

  • Oof I can't choose between getting a long distance hatchet or the stalk completion of The Ghost Face (when the survivor turns red and it makes that sudden sound)

I'm going with the Ghost-Face stalk completion.

    Ah I see.

I'm sure I did read this before, however I love coming up with theories and when I researched about the Erinyes I couldn't help but compare it to the Spirit.

    Thanks for showing me though!

  • @WeenieDog said:

I thought The spirit was just a Onryo. A vengeful spirit that can violently lash out at anyone it encounters, not just who wronged them.

But, I don't think the idea is specific to any culture. Like the one you've pointed out.

I wonder if the Erinyes would do in this case. I thought because of how they were born (the castration of Kronos) they saw betraying one's parents as an extreme offense. I wonder what about Parents killing their children.

It would make sense because the Spirit's father killed her mother and then tried to kill her.

If you remember tome 2 of the archives, Rin's father is seen holding his fist out while Rin's mother is shielding her.

  • @Cheers said:

Although I highly doubt it (mainly due to Erinyes usually looking like satan like, with ram horns and devil wings) it isn't a farfetched theory, and it could definitely be true.

I'm glad to hear that. I was expecting people to look at this and call me stupid lmao

  • Nice concept but I believe this is supposed to go in the 'Share your work - Creations' section. @MandyTalk Might be able to move it there.

Bill: "am I a joke to you? *cough*"

I know this was partly a joke, but Bill wasn't a chapter, he was a paragraph. I think what OP meant was why can't we see a full chapter (killer, survivor and map) that comes from a book.

Please don't do the r/woosh thing on me 😥 it hurts my feelings.

  • Looking back on this, Soph Aspin should be a killer (if you're from Britain you'll probably get the reference)

  • "Stolen"

You try and paint yourself as some kind of victim by falsely using the word 'stolen' when you voluntarily spent money on cosmetics. Nobody forced you to buy them, you bought them yourself, so your money wasn't "stolen". Quit trying to blame the developers for your irresponsibility.

  • The 16th I believe, it was officially confirmed somewhere I just can't find the article.

  • It's weird because I've suddenly seen a spawn of Huntresses in red ranks over the last week or so. I've had maybe 10 or more matches against her? Quite obviously it would be the tome which seems the most plausible explanation as to why but I don't understand why she's suddenly popular now compared to when her predominant part of the tome released a few weeks ago.

    This exactly.

What really epitomizes what's wrong with DBD is survivors using the veiled term "boring" or "overpowered" for killers they suck against, or rather, refuse to learn to go against properly.

It's like someone else said in another thread, survivors don't want to go against good killers. They just want to feel like they do. Get good.

I have to slightly disagree with this.

I play both sides and I've stated a lot on other threads that I find Freddy really boring to go against, not because of his power or because I can't "get good" against him (I've escaped him at times of course) but because he really disappoints me. I was never a fan of the NOES movies, the character isn't my favourite horror movie character and the Freddy I go against on dead by daylight really disappoints me when I see the white clocks in the HUD.

So no, it's not always a case of survivors overusing the words 'bored' or 'overpowered' because that's just generalising all survivor mains. Realistically if a killer were truly overpowered then there would be no way to win against them. However people can have an opinion on any killer and find them boring, I've just justified mine.

Actually, Scream is a paragraph in Dead by Daylight. Chapters include a killer, a Survivor, and a map. All we got was a killer.

The scream content wasn't listed as a paragraph though. Trivially it was the only 'Chapter' that had a standalone killer because of the complications between the licensing of Fun World and Paramount Pictures.

  • On a side note, I can imagine players using repressed alliance and then a ghostface activating thrilling tremors. Unexpected synergy right there.

  • The gaming family channel Bereghostgames.

Back in October 2017 I remember watching a dead by daylight video for the first time on Bereghost's channel, I think I may have at least heard or seen a tiny bit of the game before but I never fully saw what it was about until I watched Bereghost play it.

After watching one video I realised I had to wait a week before buying it, so when the day came round I instantly bought the game as well as the deluxe edition and even bought it for a couple of my friends. Since November 8th 2017 I've been playing Dead by Daylight and I continue to support the game, the developers and predominantly the community.

  • I'm not sure if you're joking but the Demogorgon isn't male nor female; it's gender less.

i take candyman, i want a scream chapter i know ghostface is in the game but i'll say this till i die ghostface mask wouldn't be as popular with out the scream franchise with the adding of legendary skins they could add sidney prescott with a map sure people would buy it have legendary skins of gale weathers and dewey riley.

    MAKE IT HAPPEN DEV PLZ!

It is a possibility, if they got the classic original outfit for Ghost Face, I don't see why they can't get the licensing of Neve Campbell and the production of Scream to get the rights for Sidney. They could add her as a paragraph.

    Never say never 😉

  • Dream license: Valak the Nun (I would've said pennywise but he's already a popular opinion)

My dream original: A scarecrow killer and a male survivor considering we haven't had a male survivor since the Stranger Things chapter.

After 2 pages someone who replies to my topic question. Just shows how stupid this forum became.

To be fair you're not really arguing fairly. You're blatantly insulting others and getting defensive. Being sarcastic and rude towards others because they made an argument against you, I don't know what to say to that, other than just calm down and take other's criticism.

    Edit: Corrected some grammar issues

  • Unpopular opinion but I hate playing as Hag. She's too small for me and I'm not good with her traps

The killers I hate going against are Nurse and Freddy; my disappointment lingers inside me when I hear Nurse's blinking from across the map or when I see the white clocks in the HUD. I'd love to DC whenever I see those two killers but I know it will put the rest of my team at a disadvantage and make me look like a sore loser so I just suck it up and play against them.

  • Thank you for pointing out my mistake! I was kind of tired while writing that so I didn't realize <3

  • When I first bought this game back in November 2017, I intended to buy it to enjoy that 'hide and seek' genre but from a horrifying killer to make it more terrifying and indeed it was. Like most beginners, I didn't understand the perks I was using, what ranking was or even what the blood web's purpose was. I really enjoyed playing immersed yet being scared at the same time, I didn't know what looping was either.

Time passed while I played survivor (I played killer regularly too) and I noticed I was getting less scared of the heartbeat and the killer chasing me. I began watching a lot of dead by daylight content creators on YouTube (who were less popular at the time) who taught me how to loop, flashlight save and 360. It's been 2-3 years since I started playing and I've had my ups and downs with this game but overall I've improved and I will continue to improve on this game while I can.

I'm getting off topic, the point is I've evolved with this game so much that I originally bought it for the hide and seek genre to the point where I'm constantly looping killers around and no longer being afraid of the terror radius.

  • No0b3 is my favourite creator.

I will support him until the end of my days. His channel is about to hit 1 million which is such a milestone for any youtuber.

  • Kate and Huntress

Huntress fits my style of game play because of her ranged ability. Plus everything about her character is so original I just love her.

Kate is just beautiful and bad ass. She'd definitely fit the role of the final girl in a horror movie.

  • It states in the wiki that Huntress is ambidextrous which would make sense because of how she swings predominantly with her right hand and throws with her left hand.

Clown on the other hand (pun not-intended) I would agree is left-handed.

Ive read something about to quit slowing process while throwing bottles on this PTB i think. You know what it mean?

Clown will go with the list of killers that devs have no way to fix with legion and bubba.

They did balance the Clown by making him no longer slowdown while throwing bottles in the PTB, yes. However this could heavily suggest that there is a rework coming so I wouldn't have a pessimistic view that Clown can never be fixed because I do see a lot of potential for him.

  • Oof, I have trouble with what to respond with when it comes to NOED forums.

One thing I'd just like to quickly point out is that NOED doesn't contribute with matchmaking which you seem to be implying. Any killer can buy NOED in the shrine regardless of which killer you choose (rank sometimes doesn't matter either).

  • I believe the developers confirmed somewhere that Clown is getting reworked and Bubba is eventually going to be looked at. So maybe after the Clown rework we will see possible news on Bubba's situation.

  • Clown technically has two but it's very overlooked. One animation where he cuts the left finger and the other where we cuts the right finger.

Pyramid head also technically has two moris, but one of them is considered an 'execution' instead of a mori. So I guess he does have two animations but doesn't at the same time if you get me.

  • @Fibijean said:

They confirmed in their anniversary stream that the MMR system, which is planned to fix things like this, will be introduced within the month.

Do you know what day exactly or do you know as much as we do so far?

  • Until Dawn, although that one is a moot discussion because of how the Wendigo's power would work but I wouldn't mind playing as Sam. With these legendary outfits coming it would be awesome if we had an Until Dawn chapter and we could switch between the 8 survivors.

  • @Goschlr said:

I know, this problem has a long history and I'm sure everybody have experienced it several times, but it's really making me sorrowful, not because generally some player can't control their inner anger and they spam the postchat with garbage comments because they lost, but because some idiots with mental issues literally threatening me and my playmates. For instance, in the last game a guy said that he is gonna find me and murder my whole family (Because I looped him around the shack 🤯). This kind of hateful speech is quite frequent for me, especially during PTB, which is utterly inapprehensible, because the beta doesn't have any meaningful consequences on future results in stats etc. I report them without question, but I really wonder if the devs pay attention to that kind of issues.

I'm curious about you guys, what are your experiences during PTB? Am I the only one who encounters problematic players that often?

I'm so sorry someone went out of their way to message you with such graphic terror inducing content, no one deserves to experience that kind of fear just because they outplayed someone on a video game. It makes me sick to think how people will go out of their way just to spite others for their own satisfaction.

Unfortunately with dead by daylight and many other video game communities, you will have toxic negative people frequently messaging you hateful comments because they just can't control their anger. For example I was recently on rocket league, I scored a goal and an opposing team player yelled at me over voice chat with quite disgusting vulgar language. It's pathetic how people get angry over a loss, I think you'd need the mentality of a 12 year old to get salty over that. Some people fail to understand that A. the game is not to be taken seriously and B. the game will not always win in your favour. You win some you lose some.

  • Kindred for solo players.

It's very underrated in the red/purple ranks as a solo survivor. I tend to bring it in case I'm with a 3/2 man survive with friends. Kindred is very strong in regards to communication and coordinates among on teammates. If you're a solo survivor and you bring kindred you'll no doubt have someone save you in no time as they can be sure who's going for the save or not.

Ummmm, you do realize Iron Maiden also uses HEX totems too right?

No it doesn't? It doesn't at all, are you sure you're reading the perk descriptions carefully? Iron Maiden is not stimulated through hex totems so it's not a fair comparison to NOED.

It is simply a madness and a meter on how survivors are considered just Non-Playing Character in this game where the development effort is 400% on killers having fun.

Are you delusional? '400%' is a made up statistic of yours so therefore it's not official reliable information what you're saying. In my opinion the game is arguably balanced right now, yeah there's things that need improvement but we're getting there.

Thats what DCing is for. if someone wants out, they can DC and take the penalty, like any other game that exists.

    No.

Encouraging other people to DC isn't the correct way to go.

  • I'm hoping the next killer is Jason that way we can complete the whole squad:

    image.png

  • Possibly after the stream because if they release it before then loads of people won't turn up to the live stream and instead will be on the PTB.

  • The fact that this is your very first post and complaining about killers camping leads me to believe that you're a survivor main which just makes this argument biased.

Truth is: Camping is a legitimate strategy for killers as that has been said many times by the developers. The majority of the survivor mains view it as an '#########' method, whereas the majority of killer mains/people who play both sides view it as a technique. Sure camping in some people's eyes is a bad strategy that rewards killers, but at least it gets the job done for killers. The role of the killer is to obviously kill the survivors, regardless of how it's done.

It's a debatable topic and I'm sure most of us will agree to disagree but I play both sides and although proximity camping sucks for some people, it just puts the killer at a higher disadvantage as it actually allows the other survivors to complete generators quicker additionally wasting the killer's time.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think Scott is "close to and loved by the devs"? I like the guy, but he's not a Fog Whisperer or anything - unless there are multiple YouTubers who have claimed the next chapter isn't Candyman and I've managed to miss the others.

I believe Scott hinted in a stream that he's been invited to the behaviour headquarters and how he knew what the Deathslinger's name was 5 months ago.

  • Unfortunately they didn't say anything about Legion :c they only announced that the Clown was getting looked at. It's like they didn't notice that the Legion was even brought up in the question.

  • @AshleyWB said:

Honestly I think people are focusing too much on the phrasing if mysterious survivor. I think it's just refering to a character not yet known to the public rather than someone unexpected from a lesser known part of a movie franchise.

If you were behaviour would you want your playerbase to think you've got Samuel the android from Alien Isolation as a survivor or something which people strongly associate with the true alien franchise.

Agreed. I think people are looking into the 'mysterious survivor' way too much.

The only reason I can think of why they put 'mysterious survivor' is because none of us actually know who the survivor will be, it could literally be any survivor from any licensed movie that corresponds to the killer.

  • I believe they confirmed in their most recent Q&A stream that Clown was getting looked at for a rework. So maybe Leatherface will come after.

  • Although it depends on experience, I think the predominant reason why people regularly miss their hatchets is because of two reasons.

    1. Huntress beginners (the majority) do not have much experience with aiming hatchets on dead by daylight, of course it takes time to learn Huntress' power so they'll have a hard time accomplishing hatchet throws.
    2. Some Huntress's, if not the large majority get really competitive and have trouble timing their shots. This is sometimes known as competitive anxiety (I've fallen a victim to this many times). When we get competitive anxiety we tend to lose our patience and end up rushing things. This is why most people panic slightly when aiming and usually miss afterwards because of how competitive it is between trying to get a precise shot on a survivor who looks back while in a chase.

Trying to do the dumb challenge, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn and its frustrating the heck out of me. And of course the survivors have to teabag on their way out after an easy match with 0 hooks. I cannot play Huntress. I just want to complete this stupid rift challenge.
