YES! I feel your pain. I have mained Claudette for years. I had all kinds of cute outfits on her that I liked. She's so ugly now and I hate it. They ruined Claudette. With the cosmetics I put on her, I really thought she was the cutest of all the survivors. Not anymore. I can't stand to play her anymore. I wish we could have an option of the new Claudette or the old Claudette. That would make me happy. On the old Claudette, I liked the poofy hair, no glasses and makeup look. That's how I usually played her and I thought it was adorable. They ruined it with her new face and now she looks like a hag. Ugh.
Kate wasn't my favorite, but I liked her. I finally found a hairdo that I liked on her, but guess what, it now looks totally different, so that was obviously a waste of money.
I'm trying to figure out who I want to be my new main. I might of picked Feng, but they ruined her as well. I'm thinking maybe Nea, Meg or Kate. Possibly Zarina, but I don't really like the sounds she makes when she's injured. And what's up with the long hair on one side look. They really overuse it in DBD and I'm not a fan. Give me a cute hairdo for Zarina, please.
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! I had the same head that you were talking about with Claudette, I think! It's a silver dress with some odd choices in long strips beneath? I have the gold variant from a previous Rift and I had that paired with the last Rift outfit (the yellow jacket and sweatpants) and while I've never been a Claudette main I thought she looked cute for when I needed to play as her as a challenge. When I went to check out how she looked I was... Surprised to say the least. They botched her really badly. Claudette, Kate, and Yui got the worst of it in my opinion. Some characters like David, Jake, and Nea look much better so it's a shame that it wasn't a consistent upgrade for all.
It's so frustrating to have spent the money on the outfits. I mean $5-$10 per outfit isn't cheap if you have 3+ outfits, in my opinion. I've probably spent $60+ just on Kate in order to continue to support for the game and now it feels like... I hate to say 'wasted' because I still love the game and have no qualms with spending money on it but... Ugh.
Zarina's noises are rough. Iron Will is a must when playing her in my opinion. I feel like new Zarina looks like she aged up 15 years and hasn't slept in just as many.

Kate will always be my main. Even if they give bikini outfits to everyone except her, shes the most beautiful survivor.
Btw how can you dislike her face rework? She looks even prettier now.
Like I said in my original post beauty is very subjective and I'm genuinely so jealous of anyone who likes her rework. π I really wish I could relate to that because I've spent a great deal of money on Kate.
The specifics of what I don't like are... (quoting from another post of mine) "My biggest issues with Kate's rework are her puffier cheeks, her miniscule mouth, theΒ massiveΒ bridge of her nose now. Her nose is an inverted triangle now which combined with her tiny mouth and her visible front teeth she has a very rodent-like appearance to me. I told a friend of mine she looks like Taylor Swift and a mouse cartoon character mix.Β π₯"

@KweenPlease said:
Hi, I'm also a Kate main. :)
Yeah when I saw her PTB update I was like " ugh gross. The parting of the mouth is off. Her mouth also feels too small with the face changes they've given her. "
That said it's NOT as bad in game as I thought it would be when I feared the PTB but now her cheeks ( and Jill's ) have an odd puffiness as well. ( Jill looks like she is in her 40's and she is in her 20's )
I also hate a lot of Kate's cosmetics. I've been waiting on " Flower in the Dark " since I joined to come back. It's my favorite set of hers and I don't have it. Kate's cosmetics are very hit and miss for me too. I really don't know how I feel about her Goddess one. It's more " Real Housewife of Florida " or something.
But I do love its hair. I WISH we'd get the hair from it without the hat in different unlinked colors! Kate also has the MOST recolors of her base outfit over EVERYONE else. Something like 13 recolors I think it was I counted of her " slip dress " JUST that I know of? ( With Prestiged )
but yeah I'd loooove like a Stevie Nicks moment for Kate or . . . like something vintage. They kinda missed their opportunity on the Rockabilly set but I use the top and skirt, it's just the hair sucks. She has so little that mix-matches well is another thing.
My biggest issues with Kate's rework are her puffier cheeks, her miniscule mouth, the massive bridge of her nose now. Her nose is an inverted triangle now which combined with her tiny mouth and her visible front teeth she has a very rodent-like appearance to me. I told a friend of mine she looks like Taylor Swift and a mouse cartoon character mix. π₯
Flower in the Dark is absolutely one of her best. The head and top from it paired with her original denim shorts is a very cute look and is what I used to use the most for sure. And I'm with you on her Goddess one. I actually like the hair (probably because it covers most of her botched face) and her blue liner, but I'm reeeeally iffy on her dress. And the fact that you can't break the pieces up is a hard pass from me.
Kate's outfits are something else for sure. Tokyo Headliner is rough. The rockabilly one has a cute top but even then there are things I want to tweak on it. She has another one, I think it's called Moonlight Rider or something, it's the one with the nose piercing and the white hair which is cute. The pants and head on it work really well with other cosmetics in my opinion.
But now all I see when I look at the vast closet of cosmetics I have on her is wasted money because I highly, highly doubt she'll get reworked... βΉοΈ
Edit: Grammar fix.

I am still gonna play Kate with certain faces that kinda cover up what they did, but I have definitely been leveling other survivors again. Amusingly, I'm also playing a lot of Nea like you, OP. It's a real bummer what they did but I guess now I get to play more fashion with more people and feel depressed every time I log in and see Kate at the campfire.
Nea has always had the best cosmetics for an edgy goth/emo type girl. I just found her original face to be far too harsh. I don't exactly think she's pretty now but she's a lot more feminine and on certain heads she looks a lot better to me than Kate's botched rework face so... Here we go together, I guess! I'd love to see if you put together any great Nea outfit combos!

I think a lot of Killers are feeling a lot of initial shock to having their hits overrode or getting unfairly stunned because the game has pretty much always just sided with the Killer. Survivors are giving the issue the cold shoulder because this is not anything new to us. We have been dealing with this and worse for five years.
That's not to say it is okay. It is really frustrating! I genuinely hope that they fix it for everyone - but not by just rolling it back. I went back to Killer to test it out and will say I had a few frustrations but still got 4k literally 7/10 of my rounds. And 3k 2 of them. I mention this only because I noticed it wasn't constantly happening. And the game is still VERY playable.
At least now as Survivor I'm sometimes able to leap from a two story window and take a few steps and that actually mean I'm safe.
Hang in there, everyone! Happy gaming!

The anniversary event was a bit lackluster to say the least. The crown and gnome chompski events were a big letdown for me. This current Rift has one single outfit that I'm working towards but the rest of it feels beyond lackluster... I was really pleased with the map reworks and the graphics update until I got home today and played with the new character models. This is my personal opinion and I know it's not a universal truth but I think that what they did to Kate was a travesty and I'm pretty bummed that my P3 character who has every upgraded perk, endless items, specialty items from 3 years of anniversaries, and who I have spent a lot of money on cosmetics now looks so bad.
I'm actually going to change my main because I cannot stand how badly they butchered Kate's face. And the sheer amount of time and BP it will take to get someone to her level plus the money to buy a variety of outfits is just... I do feel pretty low right now.
-
I have a few Killers that I really enjoy going against but I would say that Trapper is my absolute favorite! A really skilled Trapper is incredibly dangerous and can really shake up the usual chase game. I feel like Trapper requires a lot of mind games and knowledge of the game and is a more 'intelligent' Killer compared to some others.
Nothing makes me applaud a Killer like when I step into a really good trap laid by a very clever Trapper.
Nurse gets honorable mention because winning against a good Nurse is doable but makes me work for it.

First of all I hope you're feeling a bit better now, and I'm glad you're atleast healthy enough to come onto the forums ^^
As for changes, there is currently a bloodhunt (2x bp) active up until Monday I believe. I'm unaware if you'll be able to participate in it or not but if you can its here.
The survivors have recieved visual reworks now, however none were changed from the PTB.
I dont know if this change was added last update or not but Keys cant open hatch when they have no charges now.
Console has reportedly been fixed unless you're a switch player.
Pallets and grabs have been slightly changed to make them more consistent. They work well as long as you have good ping.
And finally, the main thing, Trickster got buffed. 6 knives for a hit instead of 8, Main Event activates quicker but you need 30 knives, and as a bit of a nerf, laceration decay starts at 10 seconds and he know only has 44 knives.
Apologies if I missed anything!
Thank you so much for your friendly response, it's really appreciated!
The character model updates went live for the game but not for the PTB? That surprises me, I thought that the PTB always got things first. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding.
That's great about grabs and timing - is this part of the game shifting to server sided decisions instead of being Killer sided? The changes to Trickster also sound fantastic, we need more of him in the game so hopefully this drives players to pick him back up and give him another chance.
Your summary was fantastic! Thank you and happy weekend/gaming!

Okay so basically we had the 5.1.0 Midchapter patch, which brought some changes to Trickster, overhauled character appearances, and some new skins. You should be able to find the patch notes on twitter.
Also we have a BloodHunt going on for the weekend
Thank you, GoodBoyKaru! You're always so helpful! π
I am so excited to see the character model updates live - now I really cannot wait to be home. Thank you and happy gaming!

Killers have more challenges simply due to having the generic ones everyone has plus power exclusive dailies.
Killers have 27 dailies(Most being power based).
Survivors only have 9 dailies.
This could be evened out with survivor specialty dailies and the following are examples:
David's Virtue: Unhook survivors or take protection hits as David 4 times.
Ace's Luck: Pick up a green item or better that you didn't bring into the trial as Ace.
I actually did not know those specific numbers, that's really interesting! Thank you for that bit of info! It makes sense now why I go literally weeks between seeing a single Survivor challenge, I'm just cursed by the RNG gods I guess with odds not even remotely in my favor! Hopefully they add some Survivor challenges at some point to even that out!
-
As a Survivor main I am indifferent to zombies in their current state. I think that as time passes they will be reworked a few times and will end up in the sweet spot of being useful but not overly oppressive.
Pros
- Can be a huge pain in the ass when they are guarding that last 80% finished gen and create funny moments of one person having to take them around a wall and rush back.
- Are a fresh and new mechanic.
- Can force the Survivor to have to think about a chase more if they know a zombie is in an area.
Cons
- Can facecamp a hook.
- Can facecamp basement.
- Have a chance to be completely irrelevant on larger maps. I've played an entire match on Red Forest and Auto Haven without having ever seen the zombies based purely on RNG of their spawn or whatever they ended up stuck on.
-
Escaping is a statistical rarity in red matches (especially for solo survivors). The days of me caring about escaping have long since been beaten out of me. π
Really what I care about is having fun and getting a decent amount of bloodpoints! That is why I will gladly throw myself onto a hook for a struggling Killer if they are playing a good game and my teammates have all escaped or can escape with ease. Or why I'll risk the Borrowed Time rescue for Survivors in the EGC most of the time!
The only rounds that annoy me are the ones where Killers tunnel me into third hook or when they bring moris and I go from 0 hooks to mori'd (which seems to be happening more and more).
-
My thought is no simply because it's far easier for Killers to get add-ons in the bloodweb. There is a much higher BP reward for playing Killer which is why Killers often rank up/prestige faster than a Survivor. I think the rate of gain for add-ons is pretty fair based on that! π
-
In my experience Janes tend to be extremely unpredictable. For most of my matches where a character seems to be trolling or acting in a way to throw the match for the Killer it seems to be a Jane. That said I've also seen MVP Janes so it's a coin flip!
As someone commented before Jakes seem to run around and not know what they are doing. It's also almost a Jake who runs Bond and leads the Killer to me to try to shake them off of their own tail. π
-
I've only played Trickster a couple of times but I found him more rewarding than tossing car-sized hatches. I enjoy going against Huntress as a Survivor main but I think a high skill Trickster will be far more impressive and lethal than a high skill Huntress. That's just my two cents!
-
I've seen this 'hold W' comment being thrown around a lot. I'm genuinely asking, is this the new bait thread/Killer meme?
Statistically speaking red rank Survivors still escape less than half of all games. Killers win the vast majority of games, I think the last I saw it was in the high 60 or low 70 percentile of all games.
Toolboxes are nerfed. Perks are nerfed. Gens take longer. Palettes give Killer preferential. Now running is a problem? Every Killer, even the slowest Killer, is faster than a Survivor. Knowing when to leave a chase is part of being a Killer as several others have said.
When I play Killer (which is rare and I'm VERY bad at) I use my level 1 single or no perk no add-on Killers to farm bloodpoints for my Survivors and I still win almost every single round. The running speed of a Survivor is not a problem.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
Honestly, even as a killer that thinks survivors are whining about silly stuff, like "tunneling" (advancing a hook stage instead of chasing the unhooker) or proximity camping (3 gen, especially with a hook target while they aren't doing gens) when it is realistically the only option you should take unless you decide to be nice and soft throw... But this? I can see where they are coming from. That is just not necessary. What's wrong with hooking the person so they can struggle and end the game? You still have time to go for the person around hatch without slugging the semi last survivor.
It forces someone to either get the person up and thus start the cycle of the Killer slugging one while they look for the other person all over OR to sit and wait literally four minutes just for someone to bleed out. It artificially drug one of my matches out for 7 minutes the other night, it was excruciating.
I dislike keys as a concept but it's sadly becoming the only counter to this 'terrified of the hatch' style of gameplay. Of course it then invites all of the unpleasantries that come with bringing a key into the match so it's kind of a lose-lose.
-
There is anger (and sadly always will be anger) on both sides of this game. With how frequently Killers and Survivors both complain about the other it must be pretty evenly divided. For example, I'm a Survivor main so of course my experiences are heavily skewed towards Killers having BM more than Survivors. But that doesn't make it a universal truth.
The best thing that any of us can do is to simply ignore the angry people and be kind and polite in how we treat people. I'll tell a Killer good game or applaud a play that they made and if they decide to call me a ######### or a whatnot then that is their choice. I'd rather have that happen sometimes and just move on while seeing some Killers really appreciate a compliment or say something kind back than to just get caught up in the negativity. There's already enough of that.
Just my two cents! Be kind to one another and happy gaming! <3
-
I enjoy the challenges that require you to use different perks, complete generators, or acquire a certain number of bloodpoints. I dislike the challenges that require you to do things like stun the Killer x number of times, blind the Killer x number of times, or play altruistically since most people will just rush that and unhook you with the Killer standing right there. I also loathed the gnome chompski challenge because for that first week I kept getting slugged during ECG so that the Killer could find their charm.
The thing is that we all have challenges and all want the bloodpoints so I don't think it's toxic to do what is asked of you - you seemed to be fair about it.

Your edit is great! It's way better than what they've shown us, especially the in-game motion video. Kate is my main but she definitely needed a refresh, her face barely has any detail so it was too outdated.
You've got good taste in your main! π
I agree that she definitely needed an update! I'm just not overly thrilled with the direction they took her redesign. If they'd kept her current face and just freshened it up I think it would have been perfect. I'm curious if you think she looks like the original or not, people seem so divided on that!

I just don't understand these reworks, we're not always gonna be staring at the survivor in the face, we're going to be running away from that crazy man with a chainsaw over there, lol
The reworks are being done to unite the graphic different between new Killers/Survivors and the old ones. If you take Trapper and put him beside Trickster you can really see all five years of different technology and budget. Reworks are pretty common for games like this where after time the original content needs a boost to keep up with the new.
I'm a big fan of the map and character reworks I'm just disappointed in a few of the Survivors. It's felt less like a graphic update and more like an entirely new character. π

You made her look so pretty, compared to Alabama Taylor Swift.
Thank you! I only see 'worse Taylor Swift' when I look at her too. And I personally do not find Taylor Swift to be pretty to begin with. π
My edits were very small and simple for the most part so I am (foolishly) hoping that the design team will have some of the same ideas and will rework her before release.
-
With these images shown side-by-side it is kind of funny to me how very small details could really tick the rework even more closely to the source material. By making her lips a little less wide and her upper lip more prominent and her nose a little more narrow, especially at the nostrils, they'd actually have a pretty good JLC look-alike!
It makes me wonder if they legally can't make her look like JLC like some people are saying. Or alternatively it makes me think that they are just giving all of the Survivors the same treatment and are rushing these faces out. They said they were going to show 4 and then are tweeting like 8+ Survivors rapid fire...
Thin and wide lips, open mouth, smaller eyes, wider noses, smooth baby faces... It seems like they are all getting the same general idea of improvements. Or am I just overthinking this? π€
-
It's not very often in the red ranks but for whatever reason it seems like when I do see him it's several times that night. Then I do not see him at all for over a week. Which is a shame since Billy is one of the Killers I think is really fun to play against.

I like your edit soooo much more than BHVR's new Kate. Especially the plush lips. Very nice. β€οΈ
I missed this before - thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment!
She's the songwriter/songbird character, I figured why not emphasize her character with fuller lips? π Plus I really feel like her original had a more shaped mouth whereas the rework basically erased her upper lip entirely - even in the video footage of her her lips just look very thin.
-
@justbecause said:
Her rework is fine nothing drastically...your edit is amazing too
Kate is still one of most prettiest characters in game with beautiful story and soul and only character that fought entity...and ppl will complain about certain reworks until they get used to it just like with new hud and animations nobody Is mentioning it anymore because they got used to it so give it a time and you'll see
Thank you, I appreciate your compliment!
I could not agree with you more about her backstory and personality - those are the reasons that I have mained her for all of these years. And because she's my main I'm obviously being very picky about wanting her to look a certain way. But you are right in that we will all get over it and move on and eventually I won't even notice Kate's new look. It's not like I spend time looking at her face in game unless I'm on the hook anyways, I suppose. π

Meg looks good but I cannot STAND the fact that what they've done to her so far involves removing her red hair. That's one of her most distinctive features. The concept of being a fiery redhead suits her, a competitive and strong-willed runner who loves the outdoors and staying fit. There was only one redheaded female in the game, then they go and change that for no good reason. I'll be so disappointed if they take that feature away. It would be like, to me at least, giving Felix black hair, taking away Dwight's glasses, or removing Jeff's beard. Those elements just fit the character.
Speaking of Dwight, he looks much worse after the change. He was fine before, if they want to make him look a little less frightened they can do that without changing his entire appearance. Similarly I liked Kate's eyes, they seemed somehow wise and alert and older, the eyes of someone who's been around for a while. Now, as I mentioned in another thread and you explained similarly in your post, she almost looks like a teenage girl. It's like all the characters have gone back in time and / or paid for subtle face lifts. Some of the changes are just unnecessary. They can make the characters look more "high definition" without changing their actual physical features.
The unfortunate thing about Meg is that as one of the original characters she did not get a very expansive background. Sure they fleshed her out more with the Rift but even then the amount of content behind Meg is basically nothing when compared to a new character like Yun-Jin. I think it is fantastic that they do more story now! But with Meg she had a few visual cues which were arguably more important than the appearance of recent characters.
Her red hair gave her a lot of character as fiery and possibly hot-headed/strong-willed, as you said! I agree completely.
We can keep our fingers crossed for red-headed Meg and pretty songbird Kate to be the final reworks. π
-
Wow! This is a huge improvement from the original. I don't know if I personally see the Jamie Lee Curtis likeness (definitely more than before) but in terms of just general design I think that the newer edition is good!
These character reworks are so hit-and-miss. They either give them a really great rework like this one or change the character into an entirely new, less attractive person (Dwight and Kate, RIP).

Here i tried to make her as close to the original as possible. And tbh i think any edit will be better than this new face. I just hate it my mains getting destroyed like that BHVR. First Ace now Kate...
I like your edit as well! It definitely looks better than the WIP rework we have now. I'm a big fan of Kate's eyes though which are notably larger than her rework. I hope they give her the doe-eyed songbird look again!
We can only hope. I have so much money sunk into Kate's cosmetics. π

I've been to Coldwind Farms literally dozens of times, including using 3 Heart Lockets, and I've seen the Thompson House only once. It's a shame since the house looks so fantastic in the rework! I'd love to get a chance to really explore and learn that map now.

Sadly, I am not on the development team and there's no chance that this will be seen by them or taken into any consideration. I've been accused of being a SWF despite being a solo player 85%+ of the time that I play the game. My favorite though was the time I was sent a scalding message about being a SWF and a try hard and a flashlight clicker and a string of profanity, ending with them calling me a typical Nea. It was impressively long considering we were on PS4 in the pre-crossplatform days.
I play Kate exclusively. They were messaging the wrong person. π

I don't hate the new Kate design anywhere NEAR as much as some of the people who have complained about her do (not you), in fact I don't hate her at all. But, like almost all of these redesigns, I think that the original is better. Some will say it's just familiarity, you always like the first version of something the best, etc., but I don't know, I think that there's a general "softness" and "smoothness" being applied to all of the characters that sort of nullifies some of their visual personality.
Having said all that, I like your version better than the redesign. It's a little more subtle, still has traces of what I like about old Kate (the changing of the characters' eyes are what bothers me the most, aside from Meg's red hair which they BETTER back off on).
I think filling out Kate's lips and her eyebrows is what made most of the difference in my edit though I did also enlarge and move her eyes a bit to get them closer to the original and I changed her nostrils and the bridge of her nose as well. I feel like the reworked version of Kate is such a big divergent from the original that she no longer looks like her old self.
I think that is the biggest problem with most of them, honestly. Aside from the fact that all of them are getting botox and getting more youthful they are also less of a graphics update and more of an entire rework. Some of them I really like! Adam, David, Jake, and Meg are pretty fantastic while I feel like Dwight and Kate are outright disappointing. The rest I'm pretty indifferent about.
But Meg's hair is a perfect example. She is going from being redhaired to a brunette which is a pretty drastic shift and makes her feel less like Meg and more like an entirely new character. It's an odd choice on the designer's part.
-

I'm not a fan of her backstory or her model, personally. Backstory-wise, she's just a good-aligned Trickster, and Trickster being a sadistic psychopath is what made his backstory interesting. Model-wise... she looks like a discount version of Taylor Swift back in her country days. And I hate Taylor Swift.
To each their own, of course! I really liked her backstory and her fall from writing lyrics and performing music she liked to being more of a pop star with soulless top 40 songs. I liked how her sadness when she played is what lured the Entity to her like a sad siren's call. And I think her character, especially with paid cosmetics, is really pretty! But it is all a matter of opinion.
I posted my edit here to try and get people's opinion on my edit and to just share my love for Kate. π

The thing is, it's supposedly been collecting this data in the background while it was off, so it shouldn't be starting from zero. And it's true that different killers of mine were getting different types of matches depending on how much I'd played them and how well I performed in those matches, with that data being established before I played any MMR matches. My Nurse and Billy got potatoes because I'm total trash with those killers, where Wraith, Pig, and Doctor got stronger teams. (Though weirdly, my most played, Plague, has been getting pretty weak teams.)
My survivor games are totally shot, though. Roll the dice if my teammates are normal or potatoes, and the killer can be any color in the rainbow.
That is unfortunate that it is not doing well with teammates. My only guess would be that because of the larger variety in how a Survivor can play compared to how a Killer can play it might be locking people in with people who score the same as them but in wildly different ways. Someone who is great at surviving chases and Killer interactions but fails at altruism and gens might be pairing with people who are equally successful but who are terrible at chases but great at altruism and saves, and so on.
Put three chase-centric Survivors in with one gen-centric one and you have a terrible team.

Dwight looks more filled out in a way that is not very flattering in my opinion. Where did his square chin and defined neckline go? Where are his cheekbones? With the new skin texture his face just looks bloated (and I loathe the peach fuzz, early pubescence mustache). Dwight went from being an adorable nerd who doesn't realize how cute he is to looking like someone else entirely.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't the idea of MMR that you play enough rounds that the system more accurately gauges your personal skill and starts to slot you in with Killers and other Survivors who have an equal skill level to yours? If so then we can all expect a lot of randomness for awhile as the game tries to pin that down (assuming it will eventually work!). I know that I'll have three or four really good rounds and then play like a potato the rest of the night so unless this system is really intelligent it's going to have a hard time placing me. I'll probably yo-yo back and forth from different competency tiers.

I'm surprised so many people here disapprove of the new version, I personally love her new look.
If anything, they massacred our beloved Dweet.
Dweet went from an adorable nerd to looking painfully saggy-faced. He's the one I'm disappointed in the most, I agree.
Does anyone know when we are getting this second round of facial updates for Kate, Ace, David, etc? Aren't the OG 4 characters coming on the 15th?

Oh boy. I was nervous for this moment...
The pros
- Her hair looks fantastic and the ombre effect updates the hairstyle a bit in a way that I really like.
- Her eyes look more sultry and more realistic, I like the smoky eyeshadow.
- Obviously her skin looks more realistic and her cheeks look much better with the new complexion.
The cons
- Her nose looks a little botched. I think it is the nostrils being too small and lifted too high.
- Like everyone else is saying her teeth are a little too prominent even in the video of her moving. She looks like she's a heavy mouth breather now and has these large teeth which with the new nose make her look a little mousey.
I don't hate the rework by any means. I hope that they will continue to tweak it before they release it as the finished update. But I don't think she looks nearly as beautiful as she could have/should have. Honestly she looks like Taylor Swift (who I personally find very unattractive) but with even more of a rodent-like face. She's now the kind of girl who I could see people finding attractive and could see being famous but who I would not find beautiful at all.
A shame. I'll continue to main her because I love the character and have put years into playing Kate but... I'm not thrilled. I'll remain hopeful that they fix her a bit. Does anyone know when this update is supposed to go live?

I agree with several other people here in that I find reworked Feng's mouth to be too open and her hair pretty disappointing. I've really enjoyed most of the other updated character models but I think that this one misses the mark a bit. Personally, I liked her hair more full and with more volume and her original closed and fuller lips.

Coldwind Farms is especially beautiful, I love the house now. I also really like Badham which used to be one of my least favorite maps in the game.
My one and only complaint with the look of the new maps is the reduction in fog. I desperately wish they'd reintroduce fog so that stealth Killers and Survivors can be sneakier.

There's not much to say other than thank you for sharing!! We need more positivity on the forums and it's always nice to read someone celebrating the game! π (Plus a throwback to Ice Cube is always going to get a like from me)
Now I need to jump on and see if I can get the same stroke of luck!
Have a good weekend!

There's only so much that can be done. Both you and the killer are playing against past versions of the other players. The actions you take have to go to the server and replicate out to all other players. These time delays at each point add up and in some cases cannot be overcome.
That is true that it will never be perfect but it can be a lot better than this. Western fighting games implement a lot of technology to ensure split-second accuracy so that combos and blocks are fairly read. Most shooting games nowadays do it too. It would be a huge improvement to the game for the devs to invest in upgrading their hit system for new and old players alike.
I've one friend who has been so frustrated that he's talking about leaving the game after having loyally played for two years. He's the one I mentioned above about watching him get downed mid-fall after having vaulted a window while the Killer was still on the second story of the house inside. He and I both have really high performance internet so that particular night was just filled with comically bad hit box issues. It's discouraging to say the least. With new players coming with the RE release it's a shame to think about how many people might have nights where they see that across a majority of games and simply write this game off as 'broken/unfair' and leave.
