Not really fun to go against dbds killer design has been god awful since wesker and it’s sad that with every update the game just becomes less and less fun yet another killer that isn’t fun to go against to add to the list like come on bhvr
Legit, you try and loop he drops a trap, hooks survivor, he drops a trap so he can get straight back. Well done behaviour another brain dead killer with crappy gameplay style 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

What IS your ideal killer? I’ve been playing since 2017 and it’s kinda shocking how some survivors seem to hate anything that interrupts the flow of the game. It’s like they want every killer to be trapper, pig, or Michael levels of power and interaction.
Why does it seem survivors only want weak killers they can screw around with and get out 9/10 times? You realize that those are People you’re going against right? So they need to have fun too.
Any killer with a power that has fair counterplay and you don't feel you're in the situation of 'dammed if you do, dammed if you don't' but mostly it's about variety, seeing a particular killer multiple times in a row just gets boring.
But no Skull Merchant. We hate her.
-
It's great how ill lose one match against against a killer like Oni or Spirit and then next match I'm against a 4k hour nurse.
-
I don't heal under hook. There are a few killers that can come right back and catch you out, Xeno, Wraith, Skull Merchant, Billy, Blight, Chucky, Demo. It's best to find a spot covered away from hook atleast then if the killer comes back they have to spend time searching for you and if they do find you there's a chance you are healed by then.
-
I miss when matches were more chill, you could search a chest or break a totem. Now you have to sits on gens and only do gens or you kill your team.
Also, killers say they are gen rushed but what else are survivors supposed to do?! If I don't sit on gens then we all die because as soon as the first survivor chased goes down they are tunneled straight off hook. I for one don't want to play survivior and just die every match (I don't expect to escape every match either).

I have my doubts it will be that lackluster. Haddonfield has been discussed plenty and it's pretty obvious that neither side is really happy with it. It combines the worst aspects of the game after all. Giant dead zones and god loops. Both aren't great and both need some changes. There could be 5 pallets more, if the houses weren't that disgusting.
Midwich may be killer sided but it's not like it's unplayable for survivors. It's a fairly popular map overall with many loops that are fair for M1 killers. Although the exit gates are quite gruesome.
I really want better loops and the houses reworked, it's just dead zones and so open that Huntress and Singularity have a field day on the map

Haddonfield is confirmed to be looked. But i really don't want it. All of reworks they made turned to be worse.
Haddonfield rework probably will end nerf to houses. And that's it. They probably will not fix survivor issues, so dead zones will stay as they are. Map will be more fun for killers while survivors will suffer more.
Midwich however, it's already killer-sided map. So BHVR probably believe it's good map and i doubt we will get changes for it.
I wouldn't mind the houses reworked if the dead zones were removed and more fair pallets added

I just M1 until the gen is done in most instances and let the other people do whatever.
I'm running SC/BK/WoO/Oc and have a pretty even/maybe slightly more than even escape rate.
I'm usually doing gens away from the action and use Overcome to escape/reset on my own.
Windows also allows me to carry via chases, with Overcome allowing me to skip a tile or two if I want to leave stuff to chain for later.
I usually play pretty selfishly - if I see people meandering around/notice they didn't do well in chase or any gens, I'll open the gates and leave solo if I don't think they have the coordination to reset for a save or whatever depending on the situation.
If I see people making decent plays, I'm more inclined to play altruisticly.
When I do unhook someone and I can't hear the TR, I'll butt dance so they'll let me heal them. If they run off to the corner of the map, I'm probably not following to heal them and hop back on a gen. If they follow me to a gen after unhooking, I'll heal them if they want it - most people let me heal them once they see the yellow bar.
If there is one other person left on hook with a gen left, they're probably dying on hook so I can get hatch.
I just do whatever is immediately beneficial to me at the time, usually.
Yep I understand that, I always try and do gens and I do get saves but you know what the stinker is? Because I'm doing gens and get saves strategically where the killer doesn't see me they think I don't do anything so when it comes down to the 2 of us left guess who gets ratted out and chased around the whole map? Me!
I'd understand if I was sat in the corner doing nothing but it's always the way unless I'm with a good team who can hold their own while I do gens it just always ends the same.
-
Definitely NOT, I can only play a little bit of solo q when I play survivior, I'll probs have 3 to 4 games and then leave it.
Yes the hud was updated but lots of things have been nerfed, healing, window vaults, etc.
Also it's the team mates I have, i always have the question of do I stay on the gen? (Because I'm the only one on a gen) or do I go for the save before my team mate die or goes 2nd stage.
Also with the current slow down meta its insane how much gen progress is lost all the time, like imagine if there was a perk that prolonged chase, oh wait there was but that got nerfed but the 4 perk gen slow down is fine.

This is just what happens when they keep making the game unfair towards survivors. Just look what they did to billy, its a joke I dont blame anyone for going straight next versus him, SM, Nurse, Blight... And then anyone who tunnels or camps. Its become the worst experience survivor wise.
Up to the devs what they wanna do but its just so unhealthy loading into any of this as survivor anymore. I'd rather take the 100% survivor bonus and go around cleansing totems, opening chests, and saboing blank hooks at this point.
I had 5 Billy games in a row the other day and I was nearly losing my mind! He's definitely too much now they just need to put a cool down on the chainsaw and it would be OK. But I doubt it considering how they messed up "nerfing" Blight and what they have planned for Huntress and Hag.

What were they thinking when they designed an info perk that gets around distortion AND works on-demand? Why would you ever equip BBQ or Whispers over this? Seeing all survivors at the start with lethal pursuer will net you exactly one chase every game, Barbecue can potentially get no value if the survivors are hiding or doing gens in safe zones, Whispers only gives you a vague idea that there are one or more nearby survivors, and spies is pretty much completely random in terms of value. Just gut this no-effort value engine perk for the sake of the game, please.
Haha have you ever gone against pig with UW. Trying to remove a ticking trap and you get pulled off and have to start all over again.
-
I VERY rarely DC, I never have more than a 30 seconds time out. The only time I dc is if there are hackers in the lobby or if I'm being personally griefed for no reason (killer is exclusively slugging me or making my personal play experience miserable when I don't use flashlights or BM) I wouldn't mind maybe 2 free dcs a day incase of connection loss but tbh if I DC'd twice in one day I'd just probably call it and leave the game for a couple days to cool off.

Yep, i tried this out aswell.
If Huntress goes live like this, i will simply uninstall and never come back to the game. Not because of Huntress, but because of the future perspective of the game.
This huntress change is a testament to how incompetent the ballance team apparently is. It is a shame and an absolute insult to the other workers at BHVR who do a fine job (sound design, graphics ect)
Somebody there must have made the decision that this is fair and ballanced, on one of the best, most played and already most well ballanced killer in the entire game.
Its rediculous.
Yep, it doesn't bode well.
I have no issuse with weak killers get quality of life improvements but time and time and time again the community ask for things and instead of the devs listening and implementing it with careful consideration they change something totally different that no one had issues with.
For YEARS people have asked for changes to Blight, Nurse and Skull merchant but they somehow buffed Blight?! Haven't changed Nurses issues, kept Skull Merhcant miserable to play against.
Now I know if you want to see more variety of killers weaker killers have to be more viable but jesus the devs just can't sort it without messing up.
Like Hag, in no way is she s tier but she has annoying gameplay with placing traps at hooks, Which means if you go down in basement good luck and if you run to the hook she's there and if you crouch to the hook she'll come back to the hook before you can save safely.
Twins, I hate that Charlotte can stay at the hook and send Victor out to pressure. I wish she was changed so she is fun to play and play against and where chases are rewarded but going by past patches Victor will get speed increase and be a one hit down, it wouldn't surprise me.
I think a lot of survivors are leaving dbd or chosing to only play with a swf and I can't blame them.

@Nos37 said:
With these buffs, they didn't nerf her ability to place 5+ traps around the hook?
Now she can proxy camp from a further distance, and by the time survivors find and erase all the traps around the hook, the hooked survivor will have lost a hook state. This means the survivors have to trigger her traps and trade a health state every time they unhook. If the Hag has STBFL then the now-injured survivor only makes it 3 more meters before they've triggered a different trap and have been put into the dying state.
There was give and take with Pig's changes (more take than give), but Hag gets buffs and gets to keep the most obnoxious part of her kit untouched? They are trying to shift Pig's focus from her reverse bear traps to her chases. Why aren't they shifting the Hag's power away from camping and toward chases?
It would have been nice to see the placement restriction range around hooked survivors increased, or let the hooked survivor reveal traps within line-of-sight (like revealing Ghostface) so that the trap has an aura visible to survivors coming for the rescue.
I hate basement hag and when she traps hook. GET rid of that and she can be buffed

I wouldn't use it and I'd mute it by default. I am not going to listen to some 13 year olds screaming slurs into their vacuum cleaner or telling me about the things they will supposedly do to my family members and I reckon I am not alone.
This however would put me and my entire team at a disadvantage because the game would need to balanced accordingly. It would only open up more ways for solo queue to be awful and destroy any traces of balance that we have in this game. There is also such a thing as a language barrier and background noise. If someone is not fluent in English (or whatever other language would be used to communicate) then the voice chat wouldn't help them at all and they'd be at the same disadvantage as someone, that has it muted. Background noise would also cover important ingame sounds like cues that a killer has fully charged their power etc.
There are a lot of reasons why a voice chat has literally never fixed the solo queue issues in any game. A chat wheel would be way less prone to any of these flaws.
"Screaming into their vacuum cleaner" 😂😂😂😂😂😂
-
It's amazing to me when I play survivor I'll die on hook then the second game the mmr goes "right, you'll be playing against this Blight or Nurse with 7k hours now. Good luck!"
Bro, I just died with under 20k bps, give me a break here 😫😭

I started maining him recently and every match I've had people either DC or kill themselves on hook. Why? If his power is annoying survivors just need to stay separated and he basically has no power.
I don't DC against Leigon but if my team are constantly healing against the Leigon I'll go next because no gens are getting done and they are getting injured constantly.
But Leigon isn't OP or anything it's just annoying how some survivors play against them.

One of my most anticipated features tbh assuming it isn't a disaster.
Seems like a much better experience than playing against most killers these days.
Have they said anything recently on the topic?
I would LOVE to plat against killer bots, much rather do that then play solo q, 100%
-
OTR is fine and doesn't need nerfing 🙄
-
Wouldn't killers just slug?
-
I'm not great at chases but I do work on gens and things can go downhill SO quickly.
I was matched with a Kate last night that was defiantly new and it sucked for me because I have someone who's less efficient and it sucks for her because she's facing a killer who has lots of hours and knowledge behind them.
I think devs need to seriously look at solo q because you need 4 survivors to 1 killer (I'm not saying one is more important than the other) so you'll always need more survivors than killers and at this point I'm not enjoying DBD it feels pointless loading up matches just to have the same outcome.

That's actually a good point about the rise of proxy camping.
Maps being smaller increased 3-gen placements. It also made everything more condensed, allowing Killers to proxy better which in turn, led to survivors feeling like they needed to unhook quickly.
Used to be you couldn't hold gens and a hook, because maps were too big for that. Now you can do both.
Maps are soo much smaller now, on the Artists map you can literally see all four walls.
-
Played 2 matches so far and both matches people were bleed out on floor it's so cringe just get it over with and go next game.
-
Yep, solo q SUCKS
-
Yh, killers shouldn't be able to use M2 powers next to a hooked survivior.
-
I feel this too, I see streamers running killer and I'm like "are we playing the same game because I can't get to NOTHIN"

You aren't wrong, i played 5 matches today and got sweaty blights and billys using this build. I was playing solo q so you can already guess i didn't escape at all in any of the matches. Every game we were wiped out at 3-4 gens lol. This game has literally become a chore to play, i couldn't be asked to log back in until this crap is fixed.
Yep solo q is unplayable atm unless you want to wait for your team to die which is super boring and not the point of team work l.
-
Because it ######### sucks!
I do gens, get saves and I still get ######### on because I don't throw myself at the killer when they ######### up and expect me to die for them.
SWF all the way and if killers don't like it they can load in a see how much of a piss take it is.
-
Yeh its really hard to run spirit when injured. I would say play more stealthy if possible (obviously still doing gens) but don't just run straight away from a gen try and walk a little then run, giving her little information as possible. This won't work when injured though but best I could think of.

Every killer I face had Scourge Hook Pain Res 😒😒😒😒😒
-
I see mostly Blight, Wesker, Wraith, Onryio, Skull Merchant.

Hate her.
She has too many effects for free (haste, undetectable, damage from drones on surviviors) I feel that if she had damage from drones that's fine but like she doesn't need haste and undetectable just because.

"I tunnel because you gen rush."
"We gen rush because you tunnel."
That's two sides of the same coin and one leads to the other and now no one is happy with the most effective tactic available for the other side because that's what these are. That's what nerfing too many other aspects of the game into the ground has brought us to. So maybe we need to stop nerfing everything we aren't happy with and instead make other playstyles be fun and viable again.
Tunneling simply is too effective, gets rewarded way too much and generally is easier done than gen rushing since the killer doesn't need to coordinate with an entire team often compiled of entirely random people.
Meanwhile getting into chase as survivor barely gets rewarded at all. Hence it's no wonder that stealth builds and gen rush ninjas are becoming more and more common. Often you even get punished for getting into chase by being tunneled out ASAP only to lose a pip to 'buy your team time'.
What punishment is there for tunneling? Literally none. Old hatch used to punish it really well, but that has been nerfed and keys have become the most useless item in the game.
One thing I really think needs to change is that de-pipping needs to go. If only to take away a bit of the sour taste of being tunneled out and making the player feel less punished for 'being found first'. If the player is in for a short game already there is no need to punish them even further. Will that fix anything? No. But it would give one less reason to be salty about a bad match.
THIS!
Like you said its two sides of the same coin. Years ago when I played DBD I could do a gen, cleanse a totem, go for a hook save and stuff and it was OK, now if I'm not straight on gens or running for my life I'm throwing for my team.
I don't expect to win every game (obviously that's boring) but if I can have a good chase and get some points then I'm fine but when I load in, get chased, then tunneled with 5 or 4 gens left its just annoying and tiring.

but for the really problematic campers, this system changed basically nothing. Leatherface for example can "face-camp" just as well outside of the radius. It is still impossible to get a safe without getting chainsaw'd, so nothing has changed in that regard. The same applies to trickster.
They need to change it so you can't use 2n power within so many meters of hook but you can still m1 obviously.

Patch after patch, same old boring perk mechanics, or perks that literally nobody is gonna use.
This upcoming patch especially is just awful, it's like they spent a total of 5 min slapping ideas up on a whiteboard and then called it day.
Will survivors ever get anything exciting? It's a survivor only release DLC and the most exciting thing is the killer changes? What gives? The last exciting chapter for survivors was Mikaela...that's how long it's been..
Just really starting to wonder if BHVR is just completely focused on killers and nothing else in this game.
Like you all do know it takes 4 survivors to play a match right? Mayne toss the majority of your players a bone once in a while? Is that too much to ask?
Yep, you need 4 survivors and 1 killer per a match (I'm not saying ones more important than the other) but survivor REALLY need some quality of life changes. Like buff DS (just during match and not end game) and they NEED to do something about tunneling because its RIDICULOUS right now.

@Vlarian said:
I just loaded up in a game where a trickster decided he didn't want to play the game, so, he sit just out of range of the anti-camp around a hook, and when someone tried to unhook, gunned everyone down, slugged, and used Ultimate Weapon + DMS to stall the game so he could slug everyone. I dont see how survivors are supposed to win against this, and It feels like the anti-camp mechanic has just made campers proxy camp instead, which is arguably stronger than face camping.
I dont have any feasable solutions, but I'm sure BHVR can do better than having a small bubble around a hook that only lets you unhook if the killers been in there for a long period of time.
I've had plentiful amounts of camping & tunneling killers and my "anti camp" bar has only gone to maybe 35%
I feel that with M1 killers they can camp but it's not as bad. The time it is bad is if the killer has a second power like Bubba, Trickster, Pyramid Head, Death Slinger, Hill Billy. If there power was deactivated while survivor is on hook and they are within 16m then it would probably solve it but it should be active during end game.

Yeh the three killers I hate are Nurse, Blight and Skull Merchant. The rest I don't mind unless their back to back :[

Yeh I've had it a lot in solo q, like the first person downed just gives up which just makes the match pointless.
I've also had a a lot of toxic survivors I've been paired with. I was doing the last gen in a match and the Yui kept fast vaulting the window to bring the killer over (she wasn't asking for a heal) and I just did the gen and the killer came, downed the Yui and gave me hatch 😂

Replace MMR with the old Grade system..!
Back in the day I had fun matches. Pips don’t matter now. Nothing does unless you team up with competent SWF to win consistently. With pips you could still play with friends, and pip. Then when you played by yourself you’d be matched with people of your Grade… This isn’t a thing anymore. This makes you not want to play with people that’ll make you lose in general.
This is also what make killers tunnel. As I remember tunneling too much meant you didn’t pip when your Grade got higher as killer… You had to all the things to pip. Especially at Gold rank.
The Devs actually ruined DBD by changing the matchmaking. Everything they’ve done is to cover up this fact.
Old dbd was defiantly better and matches weren't as sweaty.
