The bp bonus is on survivior 90% of the time where I am which indicates to me that survivors are switching to killer or just leaving the game but I don't blame them.

Isn't it interesting that BP bonus is on killer's side every evening/night?

It's almost as you get to need more killers when people actually want to play most.

It was always like this. Most of the day you need more survivors, then evening/night you need more killers.

I usually get to play around 21:00 and have bonus on killers...

I think alot of people are getting burned out to be honest. I miss when dbd wasn't so serious and stressful

I keep getting spectate sniped by SWF players when playing survivor.

When there are 2 or 3 SWF players in my team and I’m left alive together with another player who is part of the SWF, that player will have their friend spectate me and tell the other player where I am so they can bring the Killer to me.

There’s no reason why I shouldn’t be able to disable spectator mode. SWF players revealing my location to the Killer through spectator mode is a real issue.

There should be the ability to disable the spectator cam and your aura. Like you should be able to switch it on and odd during match.

The amount of times where I've got saves and been the only ones on gens to then get ratted out is insane.

If killers want easy games make bots available so they can think they are good playing without ruining the experience for the rest. Tunneling and camping SHOULD NOT be a mechanic, devs of this game do not care, do not play this game and will never fix this things because is more important to release cosmetics and make money than doing something useful. The proof is in the pudding, just see how terrible this patch has been, bugs everywhere… and they are probably going to ban me for saying this but idc.

Honestly I'm getting so sick of this game now. I normally play solo q or play duo with my friend occasionally, we aren't toxic, we don't use flashlights or tool boxes or bm the killer and EVERY single killer plays like thier mom's life is on the line if they don't 4k quickly as possible.

The devs don't care about the state of the game. The bp bonus is on survivior 90% of the time where I am which indicates to me that survivors are switching to killer or just leaving the game but I don't blame them.

Maps are getting smaller with pitiful loops and survivors are told "just don't go down" yeh sure let me loops this crappy pallet in the middle of a deadzone for 10 minutes.

  • I HATE Haddenfield and Midwich.

Haddonfield is now a tiny killer sided map (think fish in a barrel)

Midwich has bad flow and bad loops.

  • Nurse, Skull Merchant, because they need a nerf

Hag, twins, wraith, not because they need a nerf because of their playstyle and how players use them :/

    1. Survivor puts on DS/OTR, afraid of ‘tunneling’
    2. Killer plays nice and not tunnel
    3. Survivor feels their perks wasted as they didn’t get any value from it
    4. Survivor proceeds to bodyblock Killer to get value
    5. Killer commits the chase and ‘tunnel’ him out
    6. “Every killer tunnels, and perks don’t help!”

Seriously that’s what happened in my Killer games. So many times I’m accused of tunnelling because someone decides to bodyblock me when I go for the unhooker.

Anyway, I think with the new babysitter, this is gonna happen a lot more often.. TT

If a survivor is physically looking for the killers attention instead of laying low and healing then it's NOT tunneling.

  • Honestly, buff the timer and buff the stun and also disable killers M2 (NOT M1) power for about 10 seconds.

And if anyone has any issues with this then simply DONT TUNNEL THE SURVIVOR!

  • @Emeal said:

I would be perfectly happy to accept this change for DS.
I think anti-tunneling perks that work as off-the hook should be 80 sec by default.

I also think bHVR should make another anti-tunneling perk that works off- the-hook and should be a free universal perk.
Perhaps something that blinds the Killer and slows them, if they hit a Survivor during the off-the-hook endurance timer.

I think baby sitter is supposed to help with that even though people are calling for nerfs even though you can totally negate it by not going after the same survivor after they are immediately unhooked.

After watching Dev and community reactions to survivors complaining about the game being unbalanced and unfun, I believe the only way to improve the game is stop playing until changes are made. There is a notable lack of empathy about this constant complaint and I find that very concerning. Survivors are addicted to the game regardless of and that is being taken advantage of. For the sake of mental well-being and for to have better success at reaching the devs attention, seriously stop playing the game.

Match making has always been less than great but I do genuinely believe the survivor rate has dropped and due to that higher rank survivors are being paired with lower rank/new players to make up for it. I've noticed in the last few months my matches have been abysmal!

  • @Laluzi said:

Are we actually complaining about Distortion? Why? It's a pure perk/addon counter. If Distortion is wrecking you, then you're too reliant on your build to locate survivors and need to start employing more game sense.

Like, there's an argument to be made that Distortion is a selfish perk along the lines of Left Behind and Sole Survivor, but that's not a killer concern, that's a teammate concern.

People act like it makes survivors invisible 😂

  • @ChurchofPig said:

This is a rant, I'm saying it now because some things in here are ideas that literally sound like they're coming from someone upset and they are. They can be taken seriously, then can not be taken seriously, it does not matter.

The event queue was, at least theoretically, made so that people who wanted to play regular dbd didn't have to interfere with those who wanted to have fun and play the event. However, I can count on one hand how many times as survivor a killer did not camp, tunnel, or slug starting at 5 generators during the event. I play both sides so I really don't want to hear about "think of the killers' or "Oh but the challenges xyz" not a single challenge in the event tome says "Slaughter all 4 survivors at 5 generators no exceptions or your gaming pc/console is going to explode" because that's how killers are acting during this event. I believe right now, if you can prove the killer saw a different survivor but still chose to tunnel, then that killer should be banned from the event queue for however long, obviously not the entire time because limited stuff and things, but there should be a real penalty.

I have found between playing both sides of this event, both killer and survivor, the only side there's an active struggle on that hasn't just come down to "get better" is survivor. 99.9% of the issues I've seen from the killer side have legitimately just come down to "I could be better at patrolling" or "I should have dropped a chase sooner". Maybe that's me.

Sorry to the killers that are genuinely being wholesome and fun or just being normal and not a complete douche to face, but these are my legitimate feelings on the matter. If we're going to have a queue dedicated to the event and doing event stuff, people shouldn't have to deal with others sweating so much. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna switch to killer because I'm done with the other killer players today, you all are being insufferable.

Anyways that's my rant for now, thank you for listening. I feel better.

So I hear what your saying.

We've just had rank reset (but we don't depip now so don't know why people go hard with that) and there are challenges but like you said nothing at 5 gens.

But to be brutally honest with you, we cannot control the behaviour of other players, we can shine light on it like you have yourself which is good because it gives an indication how players are feeling. But ultimately if you find this mode is really sweaty I'd go back to normal lobbies or take a break from the game.

I personally played a few games of the event and decided I didn't like it and have played normal lobbies.

Does it solve the issues you are raising?, no. But maybe you'll have better games in normal lobbies.

  • You know you can just look for the distortion user, just because a survivor runs distortion doesn't make them invisible and untraceable in the map 😂

The games being close is ideal. The gens should get finished on a regular basis. It means both sides have a chance. If most of your games are you winning with two gens done then there is a problem. Longer games just means making the game even more killer sided than it already is. That just doesn't work on these tiny maps that have enormous deadzones and weak pallets.

    Agree

Games should be like 10-15mins MAX and yeh it should be close that's what makes it fun otherwise it's killer shooting fish in a barrel 🙄

  • While I understand what your saying (aura reading, losing item) I honestly prefer it over multiple gen slowdown perks.

  • @Zaydin said:

Because that would allow survivors to pick perks that hard counter the Killer. Knowing a survivor group is a SWF doesn't hard counter anything other than informing the Killer they are against a SWF.

If SWF mains are so terrified they would get constantly lobby dodged, maybe BHVR should give killers a +200-300% BP incentive to play against SWFs.

I ask as a rhetorical and the prove that both should never be a thing and both would increase lobby dodging.

  • Why can't survivors see what killer they'll be facing in the lobby screen?

  • @Crazewtboy said:

Lately I've been asking all of my friends who play the game what they think about the gen times and whether they need tweaked more. I've also seen varying opinions between social media pages and here, so I'd figure I'd ask what everyone thinks!

Do you think gen times are okay where they are at? Do you think they need to be raised/lowered? Do you think there needs to be a mandatory second objective?

I do think the regression meta is ridiculous at this point. You've got killers with good map traversal and good chase potential bringing 4 stack gen regression.

I do believe we need some killers buffed but having to do the equivalent of 7 gens just to get gates is exhausting and makes me want to turn off the game.

  • @Mandy said:

When map boosting is in place that overrides the map repeat prevention (intentionally). There's 6 maps per week that are boosted

I swear if Midwich or Haddonfield is boosted I'm leaving that week 😭😭😭😭

  • I like playing survivor because I like working as a team and towards an objective. I wish there was more communication for solo q like a wheel (so no abuse can be sent or received) and I'd also like to be able to either "give up" or get up in a slugging situation.

Alot of my matches are the case of, load in match, jump on gen, get chased and the team arent doing much or teammate gets chased and goes down then hooked when pain res pops and possibly grim embrace. I dont like having to do a an equivalent of 7 gens to try and power gates (but i know thats being addressed in the next update). Then the unhooked survivor normally gets tunnelled and theres 3 of us left at 4 or 5 gens left :/

I'd like the devs to try and tighten up MMR and I wouldn't mind waiting a few minutes if it meant I had a better quality match. But all in all the devs want atleast 60% kill rate on killer so I doubt much is going to change.

  • I was on hook, bot ran towards me and was just about the hook me until they heard the killers terror radius then left me 😂

But then you have Huntress, Slinger, Nurse, Wesker, Blight, Trickster.... who can just chill in the distance and either throw stuff at you or dash to you.

So this does not really work.

No it wouldn't solve every gripe but it would help :)

  • @Rxstevo said:

His tunneling and camping is way to uncounterable. Pyramid head players just proxy hook since their m2 is long enough to reach the hook before a survivor can unhook them. Also you cant just bait it since they wait until the survivor is off the hook and you can really dodge while in the unhooking animation. He also shreds through the endurance like nothing and the survivor doesn't even have time to run away. In SoloQ this is just a instant death sentence. I don't know why nobody talks about this.

The way they can fix this is either making it so the Punishment Of Damn disappears before it reaches the hook or not being able to shoot it in the direction of the hook.

Please fix this as it is a uncounterable camping and tunneling method. And maybe it will make pyramid head players actually use his power for chase instead of proxy camping hooks

I don't think any killer should be able to M2 next to a hooked survivor.

  • It's just boring tbh, like just hook the 3rd surivvior and let's keep the game progressing.

I had a match against a Spirit with an AFK Meg, they refused to down the Meg so she was just standing there with crows the Spirit couldn't find me for a good few minutes then I just went in a locker and watched TikTok for abit. I just thought "You clearly want this very badly so whateves"

  • If I load into a match, get chased by the killer, run them for a while and then eventually get hooked and my teammates haven't touched a gen because they were too busy opening chests, doing boons and sitting in the corner then I will ABSOLUTELY go next on hook and I'm not sorry.

  • @GolbezGarlandGabrant said:

I've noticed too much teaming with the killer or survivors who will rat others out like what the Zarina did to Otz.

Ive had matches where I've done gens, gone for saves, helped other surviviors and I've STILL burn ratted out and it honestly makes me think "I should just glue to gens and nothing else".

  • @Yippiekiyah said:

Let players have a slider that lets them decide if they want stricter matchmaking but longer queue times or looser for quicker games.

It was moreover the issue that being told to take a break was invalidating which I took a small issue with, not that it was bad advice. It felt like anybody who may suggest taking a break in good faith may now feel guilty for supposedly invalidating another's feelings. It didn't sit right with me.

Yeh, it can be tbh. What's worse is when people say "skill issue" or "get good" it's WAY over used now.

  • No I didn't truthfully but i didn't get chance 😂

  • Honestly putting the 4man sweat squads against all the toxic 5k hour nurses and blights and other killers that play like their moms life depends on it would be amazing. I'm just trying to get some BPs I don't want 5 minute games where everyone was camped and tunneled before completing a gen.

  • I was using the perk 2 days ago and got tunneled out, it didn't let me take multiple hits, only one.

  • I took a 9 month break last year and it's heading that way again 😒😔

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

If I'm frustrated with any game, I take a break ot never return. The idea suggesting someone to take a break is "invalidating" makes little sense, because it's the only logical thing to do to cool down. If someone is getting more and more frustrated, yet continue to play, it's like doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results.

In any walk of life, if something gets really frustrating, it's always good to take a step back, allow yourself to decompress and come back at it fresh. Gaming is no different. Feeling it's invalidating to have that suggestion says less about the people saying it and more about the perception of the recipient.

Yeh, the OG poster is not saying that "take a break" is bad advice, they're saying that ultimately the issues of why people take a break needs to be addressed :) unfortunately going by the past updates I don't think much is going to improve though :/

  • I definitely agree that people will either find a swf to play with or play more killer or they will just quit the game.

I play soloq and it's HORRIBLE. 8/10 matches turn into a hatch match where players have given up or the team have been stomped and gens haven't really been done (I try my best to prioritise gens BUT I also don't want people to go 2nd phase so it brings me off the gen majority of the time).

More killers are being released with chase pressure and map pressure which is fine BUT maps are getting smaller and looping is being reduced (less pallets and more unsafe pallets). Years ago it made sense for these changes and loops were busted but now it doesn't make sense when killers are able to combat loops more and can traverse the maps easier (teleporting or movement speed).

Also, more killers are getting buffs that NO ONE asked for instead of buffing killers who genuinely need it.

  • In my opinion tunneling is this;

Survivor 1 gets hooked by killer.

Survivior 2 comes and unhooks survivor 1.

Survivor 2 tries to body block for survivior one as killer has come straight back to the hook or never left. (Bare in mind the survivors haven't healed under the hook, they haven't even had chance).

Killer either hits survivor 2 and then continues chasing survivor 1 to down them OR killer completely ignores survivor 2 and still goes for survivor 1.

Also, if killer downs survivor 2 they ignore them and continues chasing after survivor 1. (At this point the killer could easily hook survivor 2 and they've worked towards there objective).

Now also let me state, survivor 1 didn't take a BT hit for survivor 2 and survivor 1 didn't tbag or flashlight click, they simply looped and did gens no toxic behaviour, also this was NOT during endgame.

That's my opinion on what tunneling is.

  • @Neaxolotl said:

Honestly it should be basekit with toggle option, and of course disabled during downed/hooked

Honestly this could be helpful against toxic teammates.

  • I love seeing a Bubba in this economy, I'm sorry if you are getting bad messages from survivors that's not cool.

They dont have to show it in lobby. They can honestly update their menu screen when ur already in match. Just include alongside the characters name and ping with their perks. Of course, only the survivors should be able to see each others not killer. And if a survivor doesnt like that self care or invocation player in their game, they have no choice but to play out the match because they are already loaded into the match

Yeh but it leaves room for toxic playstyles such as a survivor brining killer to the survivors and leaving them on hook yo die. I play solo q and believe me we don't need more reasons for survivors to throw matches.

  • It would cause more issues than solve I'm afraid. The thing is people should be able to bring perks without being bullied or hounded for it. If someone is going for adept it would take them ages just to find a lobby. I honestly don't think it would be good, I'd rather have a ping system where I could say "I'm on a gen" "I'm going for save" "I'm in chase" (I know we have the icons already but it could help with more precise instructions).

There's no shortage of killers. On EU there's a survivor bonus 90% of the time. The question is why would they want to put 80% of their players at an unfair and unfun disadvantage to appease killer mains.

Can confirm I'm on EU servers and BPs are on the survivor role 90% of the time. Survivors are quitting and I don't blame them.

  • Ok hear me out...I genuinely think the survivor numbers have dropped which has forced MMR to be more forgiving and grouping people together with more varying hours (eg. 1k survivor with 100hr survivor, 10 hour survivor) so matches are quicker to load.

Also I believe with how the devs want the survivor rate to be they are paring high skilled killers with 1 high skilled survivor with the rest being mid or low skilled surviviors to create 'balance'.

  • @Crowman said:

If a survivor runs a killer for multiple gens, the killer was playing bad. In the same way that if a killer is able to get a survivor dead with no gens getting done, the survivors played bad.

Tbf not every survivor spends 12 hours a day playing dbd and playing like they wanna be on team eternal. A lot of survivors just wanna vibe and get some blood points. Me personally, I like to do gens and get saves. I don't bring flashlights, I don't tbag and I don't run in the killers face saying "chase me, chase me" with OTR. There are some survivors that are toxic and BM and to that I say if they wanna go low, meet them there. But yeh I just wanna chill and not sweat out my butt every game.

  • @Crowman said:

Always about the "survivor fun", but no one everyone wants to address that killers need to enjoy the game too. If you want to heavily nerf the killer's ability to eliminate survivors then killers are going to need to be stronger in defending gens.

We have a gen regression meta, increase in kick damage, gens take longer to complete and we had a lights out mode where survivors couldn't see gens, AND still killers will tunnel at the start of the game. You could make gens 5 minutes to complete each and killers would still tunnel because there's no consequence.

If you tunnel a survivor and they run you for multiple gens you need to sit back and accept you over committed and that's on YOU!

Also, so what if 3 gens popped? The games not over until all gens are done and the gates are open so why act like it's over until that point? Pressure gens, don't give up and don't complain when a team works well against a low skill tactic.

  • I got 3 😬

    Nurse, Blight and Skull Merchant

  • @Ariel_Starshine said:

This is what makes the difference between a great developer (YoshiP) and a disconnected one like this. Play your own game. Glad I haven't spent a dime on this since I started playing. (friend bought me the game with all character packs, and gifted me cosmetics/legendaries)

No wonder all my friends quit, I don't even know what to say here.

I REFUSE to buy cosmetics in this game because of the state it's in. I got the game through PS+ and I brought Laurie (the ONLY character i spent real money all my other characters are points i earned) for DS which got nerfed so I said "NEVER buying a character again because they can change perks so I'm getting what I paid for"

  • Here we go it happened, Windows nerf requested.

  • @RhysVMT said:

The most laughable series of changes I saw in recent months was the inevitable nerf to MFT as it punished the killer for doing his job. Okay, fair enough, the perk is now niche and balanced (as much as I hate it as a Legion player). Then, 2 chapters later we get Chucky, and a funny little perk called Batteries Included. This perk allows the killed to move 5% faster around a completed generator, thereby punishing the survivors for doing their jobs. But this is okay, as its on the baby hand-held killer role. The double standards in balancing and the sheer nonsensical killer buffs to killers that DO NOT need buffs (Blight, Huntress, Nurse's lunge addon) in the last 12 months have been comedy. They're sleepwalking into the game being in its worst state for survivors and they're absolutely okay with it. Every time a survivor perk becomes meta or on the strong side it appears on their "watch list". Self Care, CoH, MFT, DS, now Adrenaline is on the watch list. Windows is probably next. The games balancing is a complete joke and the sooner people start voting by not playing the better

    ^^THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No side is more important than the other BUT you do need more players on the survivor side than killer side. Also this game is very unwelcoming to new players and if you want to have a healthy successful game you need to keep your veteran players and also welcome new players. For my area the BP is on survivior 90% of the time which tells me less people are playing survivor, hmm wonder why? 🤔

For me personally I don't think 60% - 40% is balanced, why would players want to play a game where you die majority of the time and the devs actually encourage it.

I play mostly solo q but I have been trying to put together a 4 man SWF group because I'm sick of playing games where it's basically pointless unless I just expect to die in the majority of my games.

I have seen the last few patches are giving buffs to killer while the survivor role is left (unless it's a very well coordinated swf) to suffer.

We've got a serious problem with tunneling yet any perk to help counter it is nerfed (DS, MFT) which just makes the act itself easier to do. We've got a horrible meta now of gen regression and gen blocking but is it seen as a problem by devs? Nah 🙄

But ultimately the biggest issue is MMR, average players should be paired with other average players, new players should be paired with new players and highly skilled players should only be paired with highly skilled players. I genuinely think the survivor role is losing players and MMR are mixing the groups together more rather then separating them which is what is causing so many issues (that and buffs to killers that no one asked for looking at you Huntress and Hag).

That's my take, thank you for coming to my Ted talk 😁

they need to have a look at killers like huntress demo wesker bubba and look at why the community loves them so much it’s because their power is so simple yet rewarding not to oppressive or complicated

Yep, twins, the unknown, hag, Knight, Skull Merhcant all have terrible game design that's not fun. People will say "you just want easy killers who you can bully" no I don't, I want killers who provide fun chases and have fair counterplay, wether I survive or die is besides the point I just don't like 'cheap' tactics that ruin players fun like the mentioned killers thrive on. They all need a rework so they feel good to play as and against.

1 2 3 4 5 … 8
