I like it but being as Adrenaline was nerfed and other perks I don't think this will happen tbh :/

Pallets are greater in number and rebuildable in this mode, and loops are more chainable than ever because there's more in this mode.
Your argument here does not compute.
Sorry, I was referring to normal matches in 1v4 :)

So instead of complaining, what solution do you offer? The reason there is a long queue time is because there is a disparity between the number of people that want to play killer compared to survivor in this game mode. You need 80% of the playerbase to choose survivor over killer. So how do you incentivize 80% of the playerbase to play as survivor when 250% or greater bloodpoint bonus isn't doing the trick?
Make survivor role fun and viable which the devs have kinda done with this mode but killers don't like that so 🤷🏼♀️

They can't hand cuff people to play survivor, they need to seriously think about making survivor fun and skillful so people are rewarded for their skill. Survivor feels like a waste of time and nobody enjoys it, at least not as much as killer.
Majority of killers: *camp, tunnel, bring 2-4 slowdown perks* hmm why are my ques so long? 🧐

It’s up to the devs to make the easiest decision not be the most optimal decision.
This.
I think we can see it with tunneling.
It was not as terrible in the past because there was more you could do against it. The maps didn't have as much deadzones as they do today and after patch 2.6.0 there was Decisive Strike, which was a direct counter to tunneling. As long as you were unhooked by someone who had BT, you had a chance.
However, with the way things currently are, there is far less you can do if the killer decides they want you out of the game as soon as possible.
Yep, maps and loops have been nerfed but survivors are told "git good" like 🙄🙄🙄

Well you over buff survivor in the game mode, this is the result. When gens can be done in 2 seconds with the right class selection by survivors. Blame BHVR.
Enjoy your 30 minute queues then 😌

Seriously I mean how in the hell did behavior not fix the lobby wait time for killers in the 2v8 mode I mean it's ridiculous and to make matters worse all those quests can't even be done on the killer side and if you struggle playing survivor oh well
You need survivors and clearly not enough people are playing that role to keep up with demand. Also I play some but it's so chaotic it's starts giving me a headache and I go back to regular matches.

Please explain how survivors are to "get better" while being tunneled off the hook or crawling on the ground at 4-5 gens????
While yes I have learned to loop better but the fate at getting killed is just increased.
Your argument isn't invalid as slugging for the 4k has always existed, but now there is a greater incentive.
Slug and seek is stronger than before
Op of the thread says "get better" but survivors perks are nerfed, pallets spawns are nerfed, map sizes are nerfed, jungle gyms are nerfs, healing was nerfed, gen times increased. Everything a survivor has to "help" gets nerfed. MFT was nerfed when it could of been made a anti tunnel perks that lasted for 80s but got nerfed into the ground. So how do we get better when everything on the survivor side is constantly nerfed?
-
Honestly good for you. If you weren't enjoying the game then it's best to walk away. I dont see solo q improving anytime soon. So save your money and time and invest it in something you enjoy 😊

@Valuetown said:
Picture this: eventually killer queues will be 30 minutes for a single match. In those matches, the games will be over in 5 minutes or less because the killer has so much going for them, and the survivors that are selected for the lobbies have magnitudes of hours less than the killer because the matchmaker has included 100% of the playerbase, new players included, because the queue is taking too long. Nobody has fun, not even the killers. But hey, at least that minimum 60% kill rate all the way down the killer spreadsheet looks great!
Yep and killers can slug and hump the lifeless bots to their hearts content 😊 but something tells me it won't be very satisfying 😉

Survivors have been super sweaty and super toxic when I was playing killer in the afternoon. Ashamedly I might allowed myself to become a toxic killer in response. Had a SWF that took 3 hook separation offering and map selection and all ran to a dead zone where it was impossible to hook and made sure to make lots of noise. Not even trying to be toxic but they got slugged because what else could I do and running unbreakable so I just spent the entire match stood there slugging when they got up and ended with 3K in the end. Needless to say I got some nasty messages for out playing a seriously boring game of their own making.
See i don't see anything wrong there. If one side is going all out like that then the other side can too. If you can't hook because they are saboing hook instead of doing gens then yeh your valid.
I personally play solo q where were just trying to get gens so when a killer goes all out as if we're a 4man sabo squad I'm like "erm…hello?"

So it's the devs fault that, to quote the op: "survivors giving up, killers sweating like their mom's lives are on the line."?
No, we don't lay that at the devs feet. The devs allow players freedom of choice, unfortunately people are choosing to be arses.
But devs are in charge of perks and gen times, and they've aimed for a 60% kill rate which means yeh, they are. There are also issues that have not been addressed. You can't make one side hell to play and expect people to still be happy and buy dlc that's what im saying.
-
I play solo q and my matches have been horrendous! It's like the killer is just going all out with the dirtiest tactics and you literally sat there like "wait, am I having fun?" I've played this game since Oni was released. I dont like where we are.
-
Holy crap this! Like back in the day maps were BUSTED but alot had been addressed and lots of killers have been buffed to address this so why are maps being nerfed into the ground where I can literally see all 4 walls of the map and any time?!

This is a false argument because those long waits were before they added a bp bonus. Right now killer has a much longer wait most of the day, in EU survivor is at 150% bp bonus most of the day. Solo Q is practically unplayable with how killer sided the game has become.
I'm on EU servers and the BP bonus is ALWAYS on survivor and people have tried to say different as if I don't see it myself! Like hello?
-
@sinkra said:
I seriously wonder if devs play their own game or if they're all killer mains. Like how can they play just a few games of solo Q and think it's fine? Killers don't even have to try to win unless it's against some elite swf. It's practically unplayable for solo q right now.
Yep! But people aren't ready for that convo. Like keep buffing killer and see how fun it is to slug 3-4 bots because no one wants to play the survivor role
-
I'm going to be 100% real, DBD can be very frustrating. There's certain things in the game that will just mess you up and you have to be able to handle it. I know you didn't want to hear it BUT if the game it's making you that frustrated you do need to switch it off. There are many times I'm just having a rough night and I play a few and then log off. Maybe take a 10 minute break and go walk or something that will help release tension then come back to it.
I tend to have a bad match and sit and have a little groan and that help with frustration 😅
-
I don't think killers should see items or offerings.

I do not get how solo survivors 3 gen every game.
Even P100 survivors seem to not know how to do the gens properly for some reason.
How can you have thousands of hours and still not know how to play this game?
Every game on RPD everyone does all the gens around the middle instead of doing the gens in the middle 1st and then call killer op.
How do you not know to do the middle gen in main building on Fathers Chapel 1st?
How do you not know by now to do one gen on each side of the map? well… Depending on gen layout but you get what I mean.
On most of the maps you get the middle gen and one gen on each side of the map how can long time players still not grasp this concept?
The only reason any killer below A Tier looks strong is because survivors are making them stronger than they actually are. They literally help the killer more than they do the team.
It is just getting old seeing every survivor in this game keep making the same mistakes and never learning from them.
We need a new update called the commonsense update where people learn how to play.
There's a high chance that we're not getting gates anyways, I do the gens where survivors aren't looping and see if we can get out 😂
-
For a long time the bps incentive has been on the survivior role which would dictate that the survivor role is low on players. Also, I play majority soloq and majority of those matches the gates aren't powered. In fact the only reason I keep playing survivor I'd that there is a small chance that hatch is an option to escape otherwise 90% of my matches would be 4ks from the killer.
I genuinely think the devs need to address this and show data on how many matches are ending in 4ks so we can get a good picture of the balance of the game. From where I'm sitting it's not that balanced. Personally I think 4ks and 1ks should be rare and it should lie mostly in 2-3ks where gens are either powered or 1 left. Also my point being that just because gates are powered doesn't mean the game is over but majority of my matches I'm experiencing the gates don't get powered. (Please note that I'm solo q and trying to help my teammates by going for saves and heals as well as trying to do gens in the process)

When I see Midwich or Haddenfield I KNOW exactly why it was picked and how the killer is going to play. NO THANK YOU.

I'm telling people that this "Survive together… Or not" - is unhealthy feature for survivor players.
They need to play as a team and should be punished for trolling when they are not being a part of a team and not working towards the objective. Ratting your teammates should be even bannable.
It should be a Team vs Solo - and if a Team playing like a lonely wolfs - they shouldn't be surprised for dying in a lot of games.
Developers should encourage a team-play to make soloq much healthier.
Yep, i get to the point where I'm like why should I come across the map to help you when all you are going to do is rat me out for trying to help?! It deffo needs to be banned I'm SICK of it!

@TieBreaker said:
Ratcheting up punishments isn't guaranteed to increase preferred outcomes. Punishment beyond a certain point doesn't tend to yield positive results.
If you actually want real change, you need identify why players are so quick to give up. It's generally solo players who want out after getting downed once. It's not really an issue with SWF players. So what are solo players experiencing that makes them so prone to giving up instantly? If BHVR can identify those things and find suitable remedies, then the problem has the potential to get a lot better.
Yep, people want to punish the behaviour without highlighting the cause. I rarely give up on hook but if I do its because I'm trying while the rest of the team aren't and I know nothing is going to happen so I just want to go next.
-
The "mmr" is quite laughable, I'm getting matched with survivors who don't know what their doing and then getting killers who have 5k-10k hours who are playing to win money or something. I'm so burnt out 😒

No solo queue player believes they should win all the time. But surely you don’t believe losing 8/10 games is something any gamer should “just accept.” Right?
THIS! Because my games have been ridiculous, I feel like all the killers are competing for a cash prize for the fastest 4k while I'm literally just trying to get some BPs and not be tunneled or bleed on the floor for 4 minutes because the killer can't bare the thought of not 4king. If it's not killers is survivor's doing the most stupid things and wondering why I'm done when I'm the only one working towards to objective while they do totems and chests. I'm REALLY burnt out.

I’ll start
Gens are fun to be on, it makes the game a bit scary when you don’t know where the killer is. It makes the game better and gives it pacing.
Stealth isn’t a bad play style, I take stealth and run a support build while others take chase, I sit back and heal, do gens and when I get them, boon totems. I’m there to help the others and I will take chase when the team needs it.
Both sides are fair, well mostly. I play at a lower level but I still think it’s relatively fair, all killers have the opportunity to get a 4k and all survivors have the chance to escape, however I understand the anti hook teams are unfair to killer and gen regress blight is unfair to survivors but for the most part it’s alright
You don’t need meta perks to have a good build, as long as you have a style that works for you it’s the best one.
Slinger is one of the best killers, he has the ability to pull survivors toward his, they escape they go to deep wound they get hit they take damage either way, and he can shoot through small holes, he isn’t as good as blight or nurse but he’s better then people give him credit for.
Jeff is the best survivor (he’s hot)Hot takes
Not every killer needs to be high tier.
I've you are releasing killers with fast traversal on the map and good loop shutdown then maps need to STOP being nerfed. I dont want to play in a shoebox with 4 viable pallets where 4 gens are right next to each other.
Stealth play is valid and if used properly can me getting safe rescues and doing gens.
I DESPISE nurse, her 'counterplay' is hoping she's new or messes up her blink which isn't counterplay at ALL!
Billy needs a cooldown on his chainsaw, I said what I said.

I don't necessarily think it has to do with perks. MMR has been active for 3 years now. Most players' MMR is going to be more or less settled at this point unless they recently started playing.
Just my opinion, but I don't think anything will change with the DCs and giving up unless there are foundational changes to the flow of the trials themselves. It's getting worse because the game has been out for 8 years and players understand the game more than they ever have. The result of the trial is often more or less locked in within the first few minutes. It is rare to see survivors make a comeback. It happens a bit more on killer in my experience, but it's still unlikely for either side to come back from behind in a trial without the other side making massive mistakes.
Point being, if you're a vet player with thousands of hours and you've seen it before in the first minute of a trial, you might know with 99% certainty that the next 10-15 minutes are going to be a complete waste of time if you stick around. And one of the biggest flaws with this game is the insistence on forcing players to play through terrible games where the outcome is decided 10 minutes ago. Games are supposed to be fun, and I will never fault someone for valuing their time.
It's up to the developers to make the trials feel worthwhile. I don't have a solution. I'm not a game dev. But I can say that 30-50% of my trials on any given night feel like a complete waste of time, like I'm just watching a pre-rendered cutscene. I'm probably not the only vet who feels that way.
I've played since Oni was released, I DEFIANTLY see the writing on the wall was majority of matches and the outcomes.
-
MMR needs to be tighter and certain aspects of the game need to be looked at (camping, tunneling, slugging, bully squads)
Im actually taking a break from dbd to play TCM, will it be better? I don't know but I'm just burnt out at the minute.

@Shirtless_Myers said:
It's pretty comical how the killer players will come here to tell you that looping is fine and healthy because they only play killer. One of the major flaws with this game is that it doesn't force these types of people into both roles. The game would be more balanced and healthy if everyone were forced to play with the terrible game design the developers continue to push. Solo queue is the worst online gaming experience I've ever had in an online PvP title. The real kicker is that it wasn't always like this. The developers made it unplayable intentionally.
I played 4 games last night. One of those games was worth while, ONE!. The rest were people giving up, camping, tunneling. I logged off and played something else .
-
I feel quite burnt out with DBD atm. I play a lot of solo q and the majority of my matches feel pointless. I wish MMR was tighter so I could load in with better team mates because the killers I load in with are playing for a cash prize I don't know about for quickest 4k. On top of that I get ALOT of toxic survivors. I actually had a conversation with a killers last night after they witnessed my team sandbagging me and they said "I'm sorry, I hope you have better matches" and I said thanks. I play sometimes with friends but if I didn't I would probably uninstall and just play other games.
-
Yeh I play a lot of soloq and it's really hard atm, my teammates are defiantly making matches harder :(

This is my belief as well. I would rather someone who isn’t a strong looper work on gens or focus on resets (rescues and healing) than enter a chase where they’re down in a few seconds. This is a bigger hit for the survivors than having distortion and not taking aggro but working on gens or performing other critical roles while a player who can handle a chase does that. One thing about 2v8 that I appreciate was it allowed different survivor styles to shine. For people who liked to play immersed they could spy on the killer, or work on gens. They didn’t have to worry about looping so much (there was a class for that too of course). This attitude should be in the main game as well.
Yeh I've had many games where I've been the only one to do gens and I've literally ran across the map to unhook a teammate all for them to rat me out. I'm literally sat there like "I should of let you go next on hook" and it shouldn't be that way.

Many of you claim survivors are giving up at 4v1 implying this is a common occurrence, but I only see it rarely in my games. It could be my ranking but even against extremely oppressive killers like the Skull Merchant, Nurse, or Blight, I see survivors wait to be saved from the hook no matter when they go down. Sometimes (usually) they last only in chase for a very short time (less than 15 seconds). Yet still they wait. Even as the game tilts so far into the killers favor at 3v1, or 2v1, I still see these people trying (and I think you all don’t talk about this enough). So I personally cannot speak to what you seem to be experiencing as it is not what I see in my solo queue games.
But what I can say is that if survivors lose their will to fight at the start of a trial, the problem isn’t a single perk. Attacking other survivor’s for how they like to play (immersed or with their own survival in mind—which is valid) won’t make this game better for you, and it won’t bully or force those survivors to play for your survival either. These are my thoughts.
I saw someone run Sole Survivor, Distortion, Wake Up, and Iron Will and she brought a key for hatch I saw in the end but she was still contributing in the match. She was near constantly on a gen, saved a few times, and healed. Maybe she wasn’t a good looper but she found another way to impact the match and that is OK. But based on your stance, you would call this player a ‘rat’ because she did not take aggro. This perspective I feel is warped. There will always be different ways of being strong.
100%, I'm not the strongest looper but if your running the killer best believe I'm cranking that gen for you. But yeh ppl call others rats when there multiple ways of helping your team. If you are sat in a corner doing nothing then yeh that's boring and I don't get why someone would play like that but I barely and I mean BARELY see it. But what I do see is other survivor's causing problems for others when it's NOT warranted.

You could sit on the edge and wait it out with a key but at some point you will come across killers like me that will slug the 3rd survivor and still hunt you down for the 4k.... Or wait until server end time is up which you get automatically sacrificed anyway.
Soloq is awful, pretty brutal actually. But avoiding gens, not doing your objective will not only fail in the long run but it's also a reportable offence.
Yeh I don't want to do that, that's the point. I want games where I can help my team and it not be pointless and for nothing.
-
More frustration really and saying that survivor teamwork is very bad at the minute.

@Ohyakno said:
Doing gens is not the only thing that makes you a good teammate. Knowing when and how to take aggro, buying space for your team with perks and looping ability are arguably just as, or more important.
Your perspective is so strange to me. I'll 1 for 1 in the endgame to give someone else the opportunity to escape. It's baffling to me that crouching around the edge of the map waiting for your pity escape is somehow more fun than engaging with the killer or helping your teammates, but you do you.
Did you read it? I do gens, get saves, and being that I'm on gens yes I do get chased and like I mentioned I'm solo q so majority of the time gens aren't getting done if I'm not on them.
And you are 100% correct, sitting at the edge of the map waiting for hatch is very boring which is why I don't do it, but the point is, you try and help and still get basically done over so 🤷🏼♀️

@IronKnight55 said:
Yep, Survivor is quite challenging at the moment, especially for solo players. It's reaching the point where I'm hesitant even to start the game because one of 4 issues occurs in most of my games.
1. The killer decides to tunnel/proxy camp someone at 5 gens.
2. The killer is unnecessarily slugging people and won't hook them.
3. The survivors gain the upper hand in the match, and the killer's rage quits.
4. Teammates disconnect or die intentionally on the first hook/down.
In nearly every game I play, one or more of the issues I've mentioned occur, and I'm quite serious about this. I'm almost ready to stop playing as a survivor until these problems are addressed.
Don't forget number 5, where your the only one to do a gen and the other survivor rats you out for no reason.
-
Honestly give haste and endurance for 60s during main game (it would deactivate at end game) and let killers try and tunnel and lose because of it. I know people will moan but literally don't tunnel and it wouldnt effect you.

Yep the invisible walls have caused me so many downs 😩

Thing is I don't want to wait for hatch, it's boring. However sometimes the only way I'm getting out is via hatch. So it's either play boring and maybe get hatch or just play normal and die the majority of games :(
-
Killers would still camp if each gens took 5 minutes each to do. That's why you see camping and tunneling at 0 gens done. You don't need all survivors dead before all gens are done. You just need to kill the survivors before they leave the match. The difference is applying proper pressure and not going after one person sitting by the hook. The best games are when it's close on each side, not the killer having 3 survivors dead before anything gets done and it shouldn't be encouraged or rewarded which is currently is.
