That announcment is not forgotten :) Thanks for the small update. Truth be told, I think that this will be one of the most important updates you are ever going to implement. SoloQ would be revolutionized with this kinda knowledge. Well, I might be jumping the gun here with being overly enthusiastic, but in soloQ you lose massive time every game in one way or another, like when you decide to abandon your gen and go for an unhook, only to meet another survivor there who had the same idea. Collectively this wasted some 40-50s gen time.

I don't doubt we will still have mistakes that only solo q players make (like say if I'm on death hook and being tunneled but teammate is too scared to take the focus) but at least then I'll feel like I have more tools to deal with certain stuff. Currently it feels like the tools are there but only if you can SWF, otherwise you're punished which is what makes this so frustrating.

If I also knew what other teammates are bringing and no one is bring a gen perk, I'd bring to cover up for us in case the killer has 3-4 slowdowns. As it is now you don't know what the others are bringing. Or if everyone is bringing gen speed I might bring something I find more fun etc.

This is actually something we're looking to do! We posted a design we'd like to implement earlier this year to gauge interest, and the reaction seemed pretty positive. It hasn't been forgotten, but it's a lot of work to get implemented, so I can't say when we'll be able to squeeze it into an update.

Hello, I remember and I'm really looking forward to it as I play solo 99,9%. it was something simply strange for me coming from other PvP games who have more communication options even amongst strangers and I feel DBD currently has taken or is taken power and agency from individual survivors and trying to move towards a more team-based meta as I see it (of course correct me if I'm wrong). So that's why it's even more important that us solo survivors get some means of communication.

That's apart of my point though

How is the Killer supposed to know

Plus how are the Survivors supposed to know who the Killer is and how to counter the perks used... or even what perks the other Survivors are using

Survivors themselves don't even know when their team has a duo or triple SWF and that can also be miserable.

I've never been against survivros knowing each other's perks and if survivors knew who the killer is it would make the game more manageable but I don't think most people here want to have their killer known (even if their perks remain a secret). If I was playing against Plague I'd know to not bring a medkit and I'd probably bring a toolbox.

That wasn't the point I was making. My point was that the 4 slowdown build is usually defended because you cannot know when you play against SWF and I was simply saying that 4 man SWF which is what people mean when they say SWF (does anyone ever really complain about duo SWF unless they're running flashlights and going for locker saves which is out of the game anyway?), when it's the smallest group of players as far as survivors go but people either forget or don't wanna account for solo survivors which are at least 50% and might be even more who this build affects even more.

  • @Peanits said:

I would say yes. It's not only beneficial to people who are going to return to hook, it's also very important information for the Killer to have while they're occupied somewhere else. You know that two Survivors are by the hook, and you may be chasing a third, so you can do the math and figure that only one Survivor is free to work on generators. Being able to keep track of that is incredibly important, you need that info to decide what you should do next and predict when generators are going to go off.

Genuine question then, why do solo survivors not know what their teammates are doing by default then, so they know when to go for a rescue or when to commit to their gen. As it is now, you kinda have to make a guess and making mistakes costs a lot more for solo survivors.

Not trying to be antagonistic, I simply started playing in August and it's really weird to me how this role requires communication, co-operation and co-ordination but the tools for those things are either limited to bringing certain aura reading perks or playing with SWF. And still in the first case you cannot do any planning as there is no chat during the game.

Yes as far as Solo's go most of what Survivors have are conditional

But SWF's don't have that conditional element

Eruption- kick Gens and hope they don't finish the Gen(s)

Pain Res- Hooking a Survivor on a specific Hook

Jolt- Downing a Survivor around incomplete Gens

Thana- Yes injuring Survivors... but keeping them injured

Now see if you said Dying Light I would've agreed with you...

4man SWF is not the average survivor.

DH punishes killers for having a good ping, which is the exact opposite of what server validation should be doing. It might need to be predictive on lunges if a player has bad ping, but if both players have good ping, then survivors can absolutely use it reactively sometimes.

Some killer powers have a loud audio cue, that dead hard can be used reactively, and some survivors are still using it reactively to lunges. The parry window is this perk is so easy compared to many other PvP games. Anyone that can parry in other games, can easily reactively DH in this game.

Good ping punishes killers even when survivors don't have DH.

But if you wanna be less biased just say, killers with bad ping are rewarded more often. And there are many people who want that fixed.

And why should having good ping not be rewarding in general? In every other PVP game lag is punishing. In Lol, if you have good ping you can react to Malphite ult with flash, but if you have high ping you can't.

DBD is like the only game that rewards bad ping. I cannot believe people dislike good ping now.

But what do i expect from players who play a game who are alright with solo having no ways of communication and survivors are OP (but only when in SWF).

Having good mechanics should be a rewarding experience for both survivors and killers. Why should it be a non-factor for survivors? We accept Nurse exactly because she requires some sort of mechanic. We can accept DH as well. Good survivors should be able to win.

If you want the game to revolve around gens and co-operation then you either have to be ok with the game implementing more communication for solo survivor or SWF. Pick your poison.

I think it is compiled data of the survivor perks Otzdarva specifically sees in his killer games.

Ok...but doesn't that create biased stats?

For how many people are those a problem and how does it represent the reality of the average killer and solo survivor?

And it also proves that running 4 slowdowns against those perks is overkill for killer since the survivors are not bringing gen-rushing perks (just like people here claim they do). The only gen perk I see is Prove Thyself. But where are the rest like Hyperfocus?

  • @Rovend said:

The complaints about nurse and eruption comes from two things: A very strong power with the lack of counterplay. These two combined makes it very frustrating to play against them.

You must have heard this a hundred times but Nurse's power literaly breaks the game. It denies Pallets, windows and floor difference so you cannot loop her, but if you try to run from her, her range/ recharge addons makes it so you will get down anyway, so you are stuck with guessing.

Eruption has no counter in soloQ.

    Now with survivors perk

Adrenaline in an endgame perk, so it is obvious that the best way to deal with this is try to kill all survivors before it. I dont know why people really overstimate this perk, most of the games i lose are done before EGC so i can hardly get any use of it.

Prove Thyself is countered by all the gen regressing perks in this meta, that does the reverse of its effect. Gift of pain applies to one surv the reggresion PT effect of 3 survs working on a gen. Then you have Pentimento, Brine, Overcharge who can all destroy the progress of a gen. Use discordance.

Woo is an info perk, really. To see the pallet or window does not make you faster or better looper so you dont really need a counter to this.

Reassurance needs to be activated in a 6m range, so killers with an instadown (which are the ones who usually camp) can down them before they reach the hook.

For the people injures and inflicts broken on the one that applies it so go for him.

By boons i suppose you mean COH, run sloppy. Maybe it will not stop them from healing but they will lose a lot of time. If not, shattered hope.

Streetwise counter's is obviously Franklins. always.

Boil Over is situational, and tied to the map is played in. It's more of a map issue than the perk itself, so i would bring a sacrificial ward if i was too afraid of it.

The killers of this forum don't care about solo survivor, they only care about MMR and how broken things survivors bring are but forget that in competitive killers also cannot bring certain perks, but apparently those are ok for them.

I'm sure some of them will even complain when and if solo survivor gets the most rudimentary ways of communicating through icons or pings and claim that killers will leave and the game is a horror game and it more faithful if survivors have no ways of communication😂

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Dead Hard was less awful when it was 0.5 seconds of parry frames, followed by another 0.5 seconds on animation lock. When people tried to dead hard to a pallet with that version, it gave killers a reasonable chance to hit the survivor before they can drop the pallet. The way the perk is now, because of server validation and latency, trying to hit a survivor between dead hard and the pallet drop is not reasonable.

Also, we were promised by the devs that we could "bait accordingly" to the perk, but that hasn't happened yet. How do I bait accordingly if I want to lunge attack? How do I bait accordingly if I want to use certain killer powers, like Pyramid Head's Punishment M2, or Huntress hatchets at a distance, when the survivor can dead hard on reaction to those things? "Bait accordingly" only works if the survivor needs to use the perk predictively. For example, if the perk was 0.5 seconds of animation lock, followed by 0.5 seconds of parry frames.

The perk is predictive now, it's not reactive. Devs have said so theselves and users repeat that when users who use DH complain about the latency and want the timing to be more forgiving.

I honestly do not care about sprint burst. Generally it gets used before a chase has even begun and if a survivor uses it, is injured and manages to get it back (even with vigil) then the killer is bad and has definitely lost the match anyway. Sure, if four survivors all had it then it’s a real pain but this is an issue with exhaustion perks anyway.

In contrast Dead Hard occurs at the point when the killer has won the chase. I suppose someone could argue that timing DH now actually takes some skill but honestly it’s really not that hard and more survivors are now pretty used to doing it. Let’s not even get into the use of auto DH cheats either. Overall I just think it’s bad, unnecessarily frustrating game design (of course, this is just my opinion).

Also I don’t really see why deep wound matters either, it’s not really beneficial to the killer.

because it takes time to mend for the survivor and even if they get DH it back (worst case scenario) while in chase they still can't use it unlike other exhaustion perks.

When DH first got nerfed and people were using other exhaustion perks there were people starting to complaining about Sprint Burst, so I'm sure if DH really gets nerfed to the ground killers will find a new exhaustion perk to complain about because they can extend chases.

Killers wait dead hard all the time. When I use it after the first time they wise up. Some even know to wait from the start. You could make the argument I am bad or average and I won't fight you on that. But even if we go use youtubers as an example you'll find countless times where they fail it or get mind gamed by the killer. If you don't believe I can make you a compilation.

Those stats also don't seem that representative of the ones BHVR posted a while ago that had Self-care in the top 10. Where's self-care in those stats. Which playerbase are those stats based on?

  • @Ayjay said:

Nerf? Deadhard was buffed, that's why it's even more popular than ever.

You can't even use it against some killers now like Deathslinger and Legion or insta-down killers. What are you even on about?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It should either briefly cause hindered OR there should be a few iframes where it can’t be used after certain actions. It’s utter BS that you can mind game a survivor as they vault back over a pallet and instead of either grabbing them or landing a hit they somehow manage to vault and then DH through your attack.

It already causes you deep wound unlike other exhaustion perks. When DH is dead people will simply use Sprint Burst and Vigil and then killers will start complaining about this again.

  • I thought survivors were bringing gen-rushing perks like Hyperfocus and stakeout.

  • Every killer should run that build, it's probably the one with the highest killrate.

  • I play survivor and I play solo, so for me the game is hard enough. Maybe not as mechanically intensive as other games (fighting games come to mind). I wouldn't mind if they decided to add more mechanics. Maybe make gens harder but I personally would hate it cause I feel it is very latency dependent from my experience but that can be one way.

I would like it if they added more mechanics to survivors for chases as that is the most exciting part imo and playing against M1 after they Bloodlust you, you either have to hope the fall for the spin or something. So I personally would like a mechanic that can be universal but that mostly skilled survivors can make use of it (like say DH, or countering certain killer powers) as I feel the game really is designed in a way that you are supposed to go down as a survivor at some point and not talking about cases where you can run a new killer for 5 gens. I think really good survivors at chases should be able to have this ability imo.

As for killers, removing scratchmarks when injured and having to follow the blood or your game sense and making simple killers more skill intensive like having skillshots or good timings (say huntress etc.) I would also keep camping and tunneling but make it more skillful if it's possible to do that, so that bad killers cannot benefit from it but good killers can still use it. I generally don't know how you can make M1 killers mechanically more intensive, maybe it's good that simple options like this exist, although perhaps I'd add skillchecks to them for say, Pig putting a trap on you, or Trapper putting traps down as well as Hag. Stuff like that.

Just a few (probably unpopular) ideas.

The forums will be filled with players who are at higher skill levels. And those are meta perks. So yes they will see a lot of use, because they are good. And killer mains will whine about it because they always want a 4k every single game.

I don't have an issue with either perk if used legitimately. Dead hard hackers are an issue, subtle cheat that's pretty easy to get away with but it's not a big wnough issue to killswitch the perk.

Dead hard is so easy to bait out if they killer knows what they are doing. I was playing with a friend who was a brand new player in a custom to help him get used to killer. After describing the tactic to him he was able to efficiently bait out a deadhard on his first try. That perk requires good skill and timing to use. 0.5 seconds is a tiny window and you have to predict the killers swing or be very fast on the reaction time when you see the lunge animation.

CoH is likewise useful but it's not the broken mess these killer sweats say it is. The self healing is slow and if you run sloppy butcher it's practically a slowdown perk. The only time I have reall issues with it in a killer game is when I'm trying to hold down a 3 gen situation. And being honest? Survs NEED a counterplay in that situation because it's really not fair to make that an auto win for killer.

I play survivor and killer roughly equally so I want to see the balance work for both sides. With my swf we have a reasonable survival rate. Like maybe 40-50% averaged over the 4 players. And CoH gives us breathing space,it feels like we'd die an awful lot more without it. Which would make the game extremely unenjoyable. I don't use DH as much as I used to but it's still a handy perk and I do get some good value out of it but likewise I also miss a lot of triggers too. Neither perk is broken.

The main issue is killers who can't counterplay these perks ramp their mmr up by clubbing new players and then end up against sweaty prestige 30 swfs. They get owned once or twice then come on here complaining about the perks they see the most. A game shouldn't be balanced based on the top 5% or even 10% of the mmr bracket. Because this game is intolerable enough for newer players on the survivor side. CoH is an essential perk for players like that. DH less so, but it's so easy to counter. I much prefer coming up against DH to sprint burst or balanced landing as exhaustion perks. Because I cannot counterplay those in any way, i am relying on the surv to mess up by running into a wall or something.

I don't disagree with you, I simply answered the player who said why people are complaining about eruption and not those perks and brought examples. In another post he was complainign about new DH being a lose-lose situation. I use DH and I've come across killers who after getting DH the first time they know to wait it out and even if you can say I'm bad or average there are good players who still fail DH by misreading when the killer will attack.

DH on reaction is very hard to do with latency and maybe input delay. I think the devs themselves have said that it can be affected by latency and they're going for a prediction perk.

And from my personal experience if it means anything, it's true that it doesn't work on reaction because everytime I've hit it when they hit started I've always failed it. I'm also playing via GeForce so that may not be doing my latency any favors.

As for your other points about people being high skill levels I would not be so sure, because there's no visible way to see that and people misjudge a lot of things. i could also make the claim that I'm probably mid to high MMR cause I get a lot of killers going for 3-4 slowdown Eruption perks and as people say here, that's the only way to win high MMR. And from all the troll or bait posts of people claiming survivor/killer is easy no one has ever taken anyone on a challenge to prove their point. So I personally wouldn't really put much weight. I've personally never made any claims about MMR because it doesn't even make sense to me and most of the time it feels as if the game doesn't even account for it when matchmaking takes long.

All we can go about is the stats they released and they're not clear enough, because they can actually do a lot more and give as a better picture. Like what is the kill/escape rate at low MMR, mid, with DCs, which killer DCs the most, against which killer do survivors DC the most, the escape rate by solo, duo SWF etc. and most importantly the perk groups that have the highest killrate or escape rate etc. At this moment we simply know that killers are doing a lot better than they had been doing previously and maybe one can even claim many die hard killer mains are still in denial here. But that's about what we can really consider reliable.

Many people still posting don't even play the game anymore but you wouldn't know that at first glance or reading a post in which they require a change or whine about a game mechanic.

You're being two-faced. Within this same thread, you've considered tunneling unfun and unjustified. Why frame it that way if you wholly defend it? And we do have something in common in that we've tried to make playing fair work, but I've grown tired of losing because of it and have changed my playstyle accordingly.

If I'm biased, it's at least because I have an opinion. Not trying to play every side of every issue like some people do.

I'm not playing every issue. I'm trying to make an argument to a person who claims unfun things are annoying and saying tunneling a newbie or facec-camping are unfun and they're being a hypocrite if they against one type of unfun but for another type of unfun and I'm giving them examples.

Just because I find it unfun doesn't mean I don't justify it being in the game, go look at the posts I've made in the forums if you wanna be anal about it and you'll even find me encouraging killers to play that way, the unfun way. I'm simply saying if they care so much about being a good sport, that includes caring about those aspects of the games.

If anything I'm being pretty consistent, cause me defending t-bagging as a strategic aspect of the game is quite consistent with my track record so far over tunneling and camping.

You just said it yourself, you want to win. if I want to win why can't I use killer psychology against them? People who don't want to win at every cost play "fair". You are not the same despite both playing killer. And just by the way they frame it they find a different aspect of it unfair, so it's only natural they find t-bagging annoying. What is weird to me when people who want to win under any circumstance still find t-bagging unacceptable although it can also save a purpose for survivors. Pointless t-bagging is pointless, being toxic to be toxic with no strategic merit. That's all I've been saying.

I mostly play survivor nowaday. Eventhough I understanding toxic spread toxic, I still hate Wraith the most for the nature of most Wraith players are tunnelers with Noed.

That "rampage" was years ago when I just play the game, it wasnt one survivor, it was a Headon squad with old OoO and I played as Wraith (uncloaking cause obsession see my aura all the time), literally nothing I could do. A month later I stepped forward over revenge behavior. Now Im that 1% killer who play Trapper without any slowdown perk and still play fair. Kill means nothing to me.

If you went on a rampage though the people who probably payed for it are DBD's punching bags already. Solo-survivor. Not even another SWF. and I understand no one is an angel, which is why I find it ridiculous when people act like they are but they were just provoked and had to take it out on other randoms (not a hypocrite at all).

Thing is this is a game and people still have egos and both killers and survivors have things they find extremelly annoying because it can get to them. I personally find it silly killers get so triggered by tea-bagging for any reason and many times I agree when survivors are tea-bagging a new killer it's extremely poor taste and unnecessary. But killer isn't some bullied role with no agency, let's stop pretending this is. It 2022 and not some other year were killer was in the dumpster.

Wraiths do be tunneling though, i cannot argue with that. I also hate Wraith.

You can prove it if they tell you. Otherwise, you can't, duh.

And if playing the game with the perks provided in the game is unfun for everyone (and actually unfun, not 'I can't win this' unfun), then that's a game design problem. Not a problem of player attitude.

As for your final point? That's just a strawman, I never said that was a good thing or acceptable. If you look back, my contribution was that doing something which has the primary purpose of being annoying is disliked.

T-bagging is crouching and getting up really fast. Crouching has no purpose to be annoying, it's a game mechanic. It's simply easier to spot crouching fast and attribute meaning to it, but the point is that killers action can have both meanings. And t-bagging your teammate can also have many meanings.

Yeah, go on defend 60% winrate and tell me it's because "you can't win". As a survivor you're supposed to lose 40% of the time (including playing with SWF, how that number can go playing solo we can't know yet). Now what winrate 4 slowgen perks have we don't know either, if it's even higher then your argument still is wrong since that would mean winning against that build is even more difficult. But sure go ahead and blame my "incompetence" if it makes you feel better.

My point is that you didn't contribute anything to this thread until you started answering to me. I didn't even say I t-bag at exit gates killers that did nothing wrong and mentioned the situations I would do such thing and the strategic value it could bring which you would rather ignore. But it doesn't seem to phase you when your fellow killer mains act unhinged and say stuff "if you tea-bag me I'm taking it out on the other survivors". I like how it escalated from one person being a dick to them, to you being a dick to multiple other people. Maybe they're not nice after all and were simply looking for an excuse. But I'm sorry, for you it's probably justified.

  • Still waiting for the Nurse mains to chime in.

If you're good in chase, sure trigger killers to make them making mistakes a strat.

But you should think for the other survivors that vs them in later match.

I had a Wraith tunneled David to death at 3 Gen left, seems like it was a try hard Wraith so I just standing under a hook to let him hook me, Dwight unhooked me after and Wraith back to hook down both of us then shake his head like he just out played us good. Dwight didnt even care enough to run away, so I was.

I can not even tell if that Wraith was actual toxic, or just pay back to later survivor teams because Wraith vs players like you in previous matches. Because I went rampage for weeks after facing my first ever toxic squad.

Ok so survivors now are expected to think both of the killer AND the survivors next match. But the killer can only think of himself and be the victim. Seriously? He is just getting a power trip really. Maybe killer should think of what kind of killer he wants to be and not act as if he has no agency over his actions at all.

"If I don't bring 4 regression perks SWF won't allow me to play"

"If I get t-bagged by one survivor at the end of the match future survivors will pay for it".

"Remove SWF because communication should not be in the game, the game loses its horror aspect".

Yeah go ahead and try to justify Wraith tunneling out David or when they tunnel out new players because it's "strategic", that totally doesn't make the game unfun for that player because Wraith had a reason.

Even if he used that as a legit strategy it still remains unfun, but no one is tripping over themselves to preach to other killers. Somehow a survivor tbaggging you at the exit gate for 5 seconds is a bigger deal than making the game unplayable for people either by tunneling them or face camping them or slugging them.

I hope you feel proud how because of one toxic survivor you took it out on who knows how many other survivors. Is that really enough reason to justify going on a rampage? It sounds unhinged when killers get as triggered, honestly.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3271439#Comment_3271439

Because it's to annoy, which gives no advantage. But camping, which actually increases your chance to win? Naw, that's the annoying thing killers shouldn't be doing.

Dude, take your bias somewhere else please.

I've always defended camping and tunneling because I know they're strategies and BHVR obviously supports them. you don't have to get baited over stuff just cause you're a killer main. I am having a conversation with another person who probably believes in playing killer in a "fair" way. You've got nothing in common.

No, but behaviour that wouldn't fly in a competition regardless of game balance and meta can't be defended as just being competitive and trying to win. It's pretty simple logic.

If you can prove the Killer's doing it to antagonise the Survivors, yeah. If you can't, then no. Again, teabagging etc. has no such defence. If you do it for an advantage, it's entirely because you know that it's going to annoy someone. Any relevance it has is inseparable from trying to make sure someone else isn't enjoying the game.

This is not, and has never been, complicated.

How can you prove a killer is camping you antagonistically when camping can serve two purposes?

If you run 4 slowdown against solo survivor no one is enjoying that game besides you either. Please defend that as well because it is a "strategy".

If a killer tunnel and camps because a survivor teabagged him last game as this thread makes mention, then he is making the game un-enjoyable for 4 other people. But I am glad that doesn't bother you at all. I guess survivor tea-bagging you one game is a greater offense to you that you find it justifiable to take it out on other people. Great principles right there.

People are against it because it's nothing more than a behavior to ruin someone's day. It has no point other than making someone feel negative. People only do it because they know there's no recourse. It's a cowardly act. Ffs you never know when you're playing against someone whose mentally at the end of their rope or had a disability that makes it hard for them to cope with things like this and it pushes them over the edge.

How is there no recourse, you're playing killer. Killers all the time say they'll tunnel the guy BMing them. You have more agency than the survivor, are you serious? I said something and people ran with it, while I said nothing about BMing killers who are new or not really doing anything. Jesus. What about a killer who tunnels and camps then, should he think of the survivor they're doing that to? Because tunneling and camping make it feel personal,w hat if the survivor being tunneled or camped is the one unwell mentally or has a disability? Is their drive for win more important than the well being of the person on the other screen?

Ah, there's the false equivalence. "You're playing the game in a way I don't like, I think I can be rude for its own sake and claim it's strategic".

It's completely backwards logic. You don't start with a gameplay advantage that happens to get on people's nerves, you're starting with being unpleasant for its own sake and hoping that it translates into bad decision making. That's not competitive behaviour, because that's the sort of thing that can get you penalised in basically any actual competition.

In competitive DBD there are perks that are banned, does that mean people who play those perks or add-on combinations are being unsportsmanlike then? They would be penalized for breaking the rules in competitive DBD for playing broken stuff, both killers and survivors, therefore going full sweaty Nurse with her best add-ons must mean the killer player really is an ######### then.

What about killers who camp because they know survivors will get salty. Is camping still a strategy in this case or is it BM according to you?

So, it's not the killer's strength? Just his personality and looks? Huh, I can see it. I apologize you feel that way.

Yeah, it's the only killer I feel offended to die with cause I know he enjoys it a lot.

I don't tunnel or camp unless I'm BMed when I play Killer. Then I tunnel and camp them out and usually let the survivors farm me for points. BMing is toxic and only creates toxicity as a response.

That's you though, ask any killer who wants to win and they'll say "camping and tunneling are legitimate strategies (at high MMR)".

CoH grating infinite value is as poor of an argument as hexes also doing so. There is an opportunity cost to setting boons up that is often overlooked and might be the cause of a lost match.

The one situation where CoH can be decisive is when the killer holds a 3 gens and cannot afford to snuff the totem on the other side of a map such as Azarov's. Frankly, I find that stalemate boring but at least CoH allows survivors to fight back.

Yeah, setting up boons can take time. It really is about decision making in that instance "Do I try to find a boon or work on a gen".

I've had Mikaela's who only started playing the game after 1-2 minutes passed cause they were looking for a totem (they didn't even bring a helping perk), and if it gets snuffed, now she's gonna have to look for another hour.

I carried the last survivor past the hatch and walked to the basement hooks instead.

Love those guys. One time we got Oni who didn't even pretend to leave me on the ground. He just stood onto my body with his power ready while my friend was hiding on the other side of the map. After I bled out and my friend escaped, Oni was claiming my friend rat who let teammate die... Yeah. It's not like I begged her not to come because you were there.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3271425#Comment_3271425

It's unfortunate tbh. I make sure to crawl away from the last guy. It's kinda shame if someone plays hatch game and therefore leaves me on my first hook even if killer doesn't camp... Still understandable tho, in 2v1 there's no room to play this out anyway. And in case of slugging for 4k... no assist for killer from me, lol. Never.

I had a similar game where it was me a Cheryl left, random. And Nurse was right on top of her. Cheryl was trying to get to me (idk if she was working with the killer or newer and just wanted help) and Nurse would follow her. i tried to work on gens instead and at some point I even got her up but she went down and hatch spawned right behind me. That felt really awesome.

  • @ImNotBobDylan said:

Well to a larger extent OP has a point, most of the survivors I've seen BM usually do it to the nicest killers, and I say that as a survivor main. When I was playing killer, I would even seen some survivors tbag me after I literally gave them hatch, multiple times. I usually give 0 ######### about it and still give hatch to most survivors, these guys are viewed as losers by killers AND survivors.

There are definitely survivors who do that, but I am not sure they are the majority, it's simply easier to remember them than the survivors who did nothing to you.

"I don't see why people are against my being deliberately annoying!"

Very hard to understand, that. Can't imagine why people prefer friendliness and sportsmanship.

It depends on how you see the game. There's nothing friendly about camping but people who wanna win use it. If BMing a killer can take their attention from a hooked teammate or a teammate who's on 2 hooks already I can also accept it as a strategic decision.

What about killer seeing Dwight with no prestige and deciding to tunnel him cause he is probably new, is that friendly and sportmanlike enough for you?

A killer who is BM'd will continue to play the killer and can even win.

A camped survivor won't actually play the game for 2 minutes.

The thing is DBD is not one thing clearly. Is it casual or is it trying to be competitive, as it is now it is trying to be both, that's why people have different ideas on how the game should be played.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3271429#Comment_3271429

Okay, but camping can be a viable strategy. I had a survivor mad at me last night because I managed to get two people on hooks practically right next to each other. Now, in this sort of situation does it make sense to camp or to yeet myself to another corner of the map? I camp both, as it's twice as rewarding. I explained this to the survivor, and they understood after, but they were sure salty beforehand.

I'd still teabag you to see if you'd crack and come find me. Teabagging can also be a viable strategy if it gets the killer bothered. I don't understand why killers are so against it. Annoying them can lead to making mistakes.

  • I BM if they camp or if they are trying to tunnel someone out to get their attention.

This problem is becoming prevalent and it really bothers me to a core level. Dead hard hackers happens too much in high sbmm and I frequently face them on a daily basis. They DON'T activate Dead Hard BEFORE you attack. Any loop, any pallet, anything you can think of. Their hack only activates once you

    a) get very close

    b) press the attack button

    c) you aim inside their hitbox

That's how I have observed. It doesn't matter if I fake my attack. It doesn't matter if I circle around while attacking. The hack knows exactly when you hit or not hit the survivor. The moment it knows that you're going to hit the survivor, dead hard activates.

There is no counter play to this and there is nothing you can do about it. They got a third health state permanently.

Subtle cheating is the worst kind of cheating there is. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Killer: For me, hands down NOED. One of the most frustrating perks in the game. Just gives subpar killers free kills at the end of the game. Hate it as survivor, and i refuse to use it as killer on principle.

I mean at least don't hide it. When last gen is done just show survs the exposed status. So they know not to go for yolo unhooks and can at least look for the totem instead of feeding the killer. The amount of games times it turns a 0 or1k game into an unwarranted 3 or 4k is stupid.

If i die to bloodwarden or no way out I can deal with that. But NOED is simply infuriating.

Survivor: no mither. I mean why is it even in the game? It is just actively useless. Should give a huge bp bonus and silence pain grunts totally. Even then it'd still be pretty garbage.

I don’t tunnel so it’s not Off the Record, it isn’t Borrowed Time for the exact same reason.

No Med-Kits so it isn’t Endurance from those.

I’ll attempt to bait out the DH by not quick attacking straight away, When I do attack Survivors time it perfectly! It’s happening a little too often for it to be coincidental.

I’m open to the fact it could be a perk I’m unaware of.

    Cheers.

I can't wait til bots come cause then i won't have to deal with this bullshit.

It's damn near impossible to lock down 3 houses with an m1 killer with 4 god windows in each and if you DO get a hit they can just hold W to the next building/another boon. I'll take "boring" over this #########.

    @AcelynnBen said:

so you are telling me having 3 circle of healing in a small map (which is basically the whole map ) against a ghost face or any killer that isn't nurse is fair and balanced, and let me remind you no killer has time to deal with it so its just a giant ____ to them

while Eruption a perk that requires the killer to hit the gen and down someone is broken because you can't let go before the killer downs...i mean sure that would come as a surprise the first time but once you know its there, you can easily counter it

im starting to think the only people who complain about it are the ones who are in the game just to genrush or suicide on hook

its literally the same thing as SH:PR just let go, and there you go crisis averted.....but no I MUST GEN RUSH and the killer must not be able to do anything about it

seriously its not even that hidden, if u see a gen regressing, its an obvious sign the killer was there, so just use ur brain and predict that anything could exist

i would understand it would be a little hard if u 3 gen, but again if u 3gen its your team's fault and any mistake the survivors make is a advantage for the killer..or it used to be like that i guess?

Edit : loving all the counters on how Eruption should be nerfed...and the fact that nobody talked about boons being a nightmare, im not gonna say this place is survivor sided or killer but let's just say one side is missing a lot support

    @Adaez said:

Dead hard is just as strong as it was before, its just harder to time it,but after you use it a while, its pretty easy.

Until it gets rid of the endurance effect that's still an extra health state, againts some killers is a guaranteed extra health state.

If they really wanted to nerf dead hard and balance it they would just make it so you get a few seconds of invincibility, not when you time dead hard correctly you get an extra health state and a speed boost.

    @PB_TORCHer said:

One use of Dead-Hard a game like DS. Survivors don’t deserve multiple second chances throughout the game. Ds gets one get out of trouble instance. Dead-Hard should be the same.

deadhard is still OP even in its current state.

I wait for it as a killer 9/10 times.

‘How many second chances do survivors really need.

ps again CoH and other boons should have only 1 use per totem. Remember when players used Self-Care….? Now only one of 4 players bring a perk that works as the same for everyone. This is also OP

‘These 2 perks in there current state are a issue.

‘Many will complain they need free heals and multiple second chances during a game. Why do you think you deserve this?

If you miss the use it shouldn’t count until it is actually a DH hit save.

‘One DH can be a game changer then make that X4 characters multiple times. This is our reality.

DH in it’s current state is the #1 most unfair/unbalanced perk in a game of 2 hits to down someone.

    ‘Proof https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmLvCjEXQ4s&t=40s

Geez there’s even off the record too. SOooooo many 2nd chance perks

Her’s another ridiculous example of DH being Op and over used

    @PB_TORCHer said:

Boons can constantly be rekindled/ Hex needs undying. I’m aware of the perk that breaks boons. I guess killers might want to keep totems for some reasons. Killers lose hex totem’s early and it’s tuff luck. Survivors just go back and relight it. Imagine if killers could do the same. I don’t want it , but this is obviously uneven. Survivors need a perk -rekindled to reuse it. We should only get one use a totem otherwise. When it’s snuffed that’s it. This is even. Killers need to run a second perk of 4 to reuse it only once.

‘As a survivor I appreciate the boons occasionally, but honestly they waste a ton of time. I get annoyed when there my teammates priority over helping everyone get out by doing gens instead.

Just threads either focusing on DH or CoH. I'm sure if you looked at other general threads there'd be a bunch of complaints about new DH and I only limited myself for a week. If I go even further back, I'm sure I'll find even more threads. I can even look at reddit if you like.

  • Do you want me to bring you threads for DH and CoH for the past month? I didn't say they're nerfed to the ground.
