  • It hurts to see when we bring 4+ cakes and some of my teammates die at 6k BP. It's quite sad.

Some just play stupid and hook farm near killer not really caring about playing out the game. But the fault lies on both sides.

  • I would like Alyssa from Clocktower 3, but she'd probably be too strong against killers ngl.

Same with Rei/Miku/Mio from Fatal Frame/Project Zero. The camera is too strong.

  • I've only encountered one friendly killer yesterday, it was a Ghostface. I don't think I encountered any farming killers, if anything sometimes they could afford to let us finish a gen or two with two DC, but hey what can you expect from a Blight player.

Farming can be boring especially since you can hardly interact with the killer outside of chases. If they added more ways for killers and survivors to interact in funny ways I think it could be refreshing. I wanna be able to chill in the swings with Ghosty on Haddonfield goddammit, or the slides.

Because you'll wait on the hatch to teabag until I come find you so you can jump in

Chances are you'll find it first tbh.

  • @fulltonon said:

Because you needs 4k for iridescent emblems and there is lot of achievement/challenges that require 4k.

Can you convince me why killers shouldn't get consistent 4k in winning match with lot of additional effort?

Is it additional effort when you need 4 mins to catch the last kill? You were gonna catch him anyway with Bloodlust. Ity's the game who handed him to you, it's not you who got him if it took you so long.

  • @MrPenguin said:

Because hatch exist as a get out of jail free RNG card that can just screw the killer out of 50% of their win (3 and 4k only are wins).

One bad mechanic causes another in this case.

Can't the exact same be said for NOED?

If survivors do all 5 gens why should a perk allow the killer to undo his bad decisions for the last 10 minutes?

  • @JarheadLLC said:

Easiest way to balance this game is make Comms base for all survivors. That way you can balance killers to SWF levels, and all is well. If a survivor chooses to screw up him and his teammates by muting chat, that's on them and sorry for your luck. Problem solved nice and easy. Took 2 minutes of critical thinking about how this game works.

The whole problem with the game is solo survivors, BHVR tries to balance around them and SWF which leaves killers in a non power role spot. SWFs are too strong, solo's are lost. You can't balance for both. So if you give all survivors map wide comms, you can balance for SWFs, which is the stronger of the two anyway. If you balance for SWFs, you can buff all killers considerable because they need to be much stronger to deal with 4 people on comms all the time.

They could also make a ping system. And some canned phrases like "gen is almost complete", "I need healing" etc.

And being able to see your teammates perks. If I know I have a No Mither player I might want to leave (lol) ok joking. But to play around No Mither you also have to enable them. You do that by staying close and bringing a flashlight preferable to annoy the killer so they get their chance to get up. If you see your mate brought Deliverance maybe you know to let him get the rescue, or eat the first hook if he's been focused on early on etc.

I understand coms can be an issue for many people, but we could really bridge the gap with alternatives like the one I mentioned above. At least now solo's will be able to co-ordinate.

  • The types of teammates you get are completely random. I could be on a winning streak and still get bad survivors. I could be on a losing streak and still get decent teammates.

It's just that for many killer playstyles you need co-ordination and the game is still allergic to providing that to solo survivors.

  • It took me a while to understand that I could use my invitations.

Either hiding until the killer picks up the survivor or they bleed out

I'm not saying I like it but it's true, many tome challenges, achievements and so on require a 4k so slugging for it is the only sure fire way to maximise your chances

Killers who are going for the 4k don't pick up though, so you have to hide for the whole duration of the slug.

  • @Brokenbones said:

It's the only counterplay to the rng of the hatch

What's the counterplay to slug for the 4k for survivors that's basekit then? Hiding in lockers?

  • Yesterday I had the pleasure of playing with no prestige Dwight/David and the killer going after them and taking them out first. But that's what lobby-shopping does.

  • @Sharby said:

Because the killer wants to slug for a 4k and the game allows it.

    No further reasoning is required.

Why should the game allow it? That's the question.

Game used to allow all survivors to get out through hatch at some point in time.

  • @Raconteurminator said:

Your story has both the Leon on the ground being camped with you and also on gens. Killer couldn't camp the both of you while waiting for another Survivor if you weren't both on the ground together at some point.

You had Schrodinger's Leon and still lost.

Does that mean proxy camping also counts as Schrodinger's, you camp while also not camping at the same time.

The thing is that the killer slugged Leon first, I got Leon up (and killer was staying pretty close to Leon therefore camping). Then I got downed and Leon went to work on a gen. For a while killer was camping me and hoping I would slug towards Leon and following me, then he went and found Leon.

But sure, go ahead and don't address the state of slugging at 2 survivors left. It's easier to do that than actually offer a real argument on why it's ok for a killer to get a guaranteed 4k when he needs 5 mins to close out the 4k👌

But when survivors get all 5 gens done we still have to hear that end has not ended and killer can still even then get 3k-4k despite getting crushed all game.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

*Other survivor leaves you on the ground*

"damn that killer for slugging me!"

What can the other survivor do if killer is either on top of me, or found Leon? You tell me.

Plus Leon got me up and killer just hit me as soon as my animation getting up finished.

Do you have something better to do in that case?

  • @Seraphor said:

Depends where the 3 gen is. I've had games where saloon gen was saved til last, and we ended up with a 3 gen between one at the end of the street and one in the jungle gym opposite the saloon, against Blight, with Jolt.

Against Blight even at the ends of the map can sometimes be a bit difficult to complete, especially if the map is small.

  • @Skill_issue said:

why not just play the strongest builds if it is that important? why not just use nurse specifically if 4ks are all that is important?

sweating to get a 4k every match just leads to harder and harder matches and more mental stress...what is the point? is it ego?

gen rushing and getting out of the game in 5 minutes when it probably took longer to find a match? I cant think of a better equivalent for a survivor win except maybe a 4 team escape but that is mostly swfs

what are the communities thoughts? is it really that important to get a 4k to assert dominence?

In Magic The Gathering there's three main categories of players, Timmy who is thrilled to play the game for the most part, Johnny who wants to win but in an unconventional way (like with his weird strategy,/weird deck) and Spike, who wants to win by any means necessary.

People who play this game as a party game might be more like Timmy, killers who wanna win playing some hex build or mid-low tier killers they find fun are closer to Johhny and people who wanna win whatever the cost, so they play Blight/Nurse and whatever other strong perks/add ones/killers come around are Spike.

Most people probably fall in the Johnny category, they do care about winning just not in the sort of way to sacrifice their fun (looking at Nurse's feet everytime she end her teleport is pretty boring). ALso playing at the highest level is inherently boring because the incentive to experiment is low (as it raises the risk of failure/losing) so people rather rely on good and tried strategies that are as safe as possible and often those lack interaction with the other party.

    I don't know.

    Overzealous?

    Reactive Healing?

    Reassurance?

    Hyperfocus?

Potential Energy?(this one is tricky one, I don't know why nobody used it to counter 3 gen killer.)

    Fogwise?

    Teamwork: Power of Two?

    Blood Rush?

And made for this of course.

All of them are useful perk, some of them are even in my build right now.

Unless the meaning of great perk for you is Op game breaking perk, then yes dev should not make any new "GREAT" perk.

Who is using Overzealous? There's no Hex meta.

I've tried to use Reactive healing and it's unusuable in current meta of Sloppy Butcher, useless perk 9/10 matches.

Reassurance is ok-ish perk, that never solved the problem of face-camping Bubba (whose range you have to be in to activate it anyway).

Hyperfocus is never used alone, so unless you bring a build dedicated to a specific playstyle it doesn't see play.

They don't use it cause if you get hit you just lost 1 gens progress. it's a risky perk especially for solo survivors.

People probably use Alert over Fogwise, that's why it's not seen often (at least by me).

Teamwork requires two people to co-ordinate, if you're solo goodluck transmitting your bran waves to your teammates.

I don't even think I've seen Blood Rush.

3 of the perks you listed (and maybe even Overzealous) require teamwork to work as intended (Reassurance, Potential Energy, Teamwork). If your teammates are bringing Inner Healing good luck finding your totems. So for solo they're not even reliable.

Made for this is a great self-reliant perk if you are a good looper.

Did those cosmetics even do well I’ve literally only ever seen people wearing the Zarina one? They looked super out of place In dbd IMO…

To be honest I wouldn't expect DBD fanbase and AOT fanbase to overlap with each other. I for one did plan to get the Zarina skin since I love the character. The rest of the characters I am not in love with, maybe if they had also given Nea a skin like Pieck (but that is way too niche) I would also consider her, female Titan might have also been cool for a killer.

I'd definitely buy the Devil May Cry ones if they ever get the rights for the RE characters.

  • Omg, I want the Zarina skin :( I love Hange.

  • I think DH benefitted good-decent survivors most, but not bad ones. And if the killer knew to wait just 3 seconds he had the down. And I remember a lot of killers in my game being able to wait out DH, some even anticipated it before the first time I used it.

It was also a fun perk to use in general, but the timing was very latency depending and sometimes downright weird.

Sprint Burst has always been strong though.

  • I would think for some practical reasons, obviously if you kill the strongest link, then the rest are easy.

Using up resources, so more deadzones.

They committed for too long and cannot stop chasing now cause it might cost them more.

I read some of the above replies, there are a lot of reasons. But I would thing practically it can make sense (although if the looper is way better than you then you just lost the game).

  • To be honest killers do give hatch to the most random people at times. Sometimes I've done the same, it's usually because they/I want to be friendly. If it was always within my control (as in the player I liked most didn't get sacrificed earlier) I'd probably give it to the player I played with/looped the most. I play survivor so I know looping usually gets you killed first and I've seen all those sneaky teammates who hide all game or let survivors hit second stage or die on hook even though they are not that far from the hook.

  • Because some of them need to be picked into specific killers to be useful.

You're probably only going to get use out of Boon: Exponential 1 in 10 games, when killers happen to slug you inside it. But if say, you knew the killer you would face, then you could bring it vs the ones that slug (Twins, Sadako) and then it would be a lot more useful.

Or Boon: Dark Theory, might be a lot better against certain killers. Or know not to bring Boon: Circle of Healing vs Plague and bring something more useful.

Same with Shadowstep (although I think atm it might be a sleeper, it's just more of a team perk and very RNG based like all boons obviously since you might get bad totem spawns).

I would like a Boon that makes killer powers take longer to charge, would be a nice debuff honestly.

It *feels* like the killers stay the same and the survivors get worse. It's one of those instances where I think it's hard to defend hiding MMR. Something specific is happening that is affecting player experience and we can't give feedback on it without breaking all sorts of rules.

I dunno if this is any help (probably an anecdote), but I think someone did a study on league of legends and what are the best times to play (if you care about winning). And it was in the morning hours and the worst hours were the evening ones.

  • To see people play? Idk really, maybe Ada? Most Neas I like, Yui's are nice as well. I would say Leons too if they weren't so bad at this game (although the last Leon I had in my game kept the killer pretty busy, I was trying to take hits for him cause he was death hook but killer instead slugged me and kept tunneling him :( )

The ones I am never excited to see is Davids, usually they are newer players and suck at chases. Jakes can be trolls and I also don't particularly like them. Megs are super selfish and hide and do nothing productive most of the game unless they are 100% sure the killer is as far from them as is possible.

The ones I enjoy playing as are Ada, Mikaela, Nea, Haddie and a few more like (Leon, Yun Jin, Cheryl).

I play 90% survivor friendo! I just want skill to matter for both sides and WoO is a perk that facilitates boring playstyles. I feel the same way about killer powers that give no agency to survivors, like Knight and SM.

Aura reading is also "cheating" for killers you can't find stealthy survivors then? What about chase perks on killers? Or even Bloodlust? Doesn't lower the skill of the killer when chasing?

  • I'm waiting for Bond to be nerfed so survivirs now accidentally bring the killer to their mate working on gens. Survivors should not be able to avoid tiles their mates are working on because it steals the opportunity from a killer to disrupt a gen and get a free hit on the working survivor (possibly even a down cause he might be a weak looper)

This is of course sarcasm, but I'm just taking this a step further to further nerfing solo survivor (obviously good SWF doesn't care because they already communicate the pallets they used up etc.)

See, this is interesting and why I wanted to do this. Exact opposite of my experience. I usually escape the overwhelming majority of the time in the afternoon/early evening, and my team rarely even completes the gens after 8 pm EST. I've loosely tracked my results before but only for a few days. My afternoon escape rate was ~70% and my night escape rate ~25%. A massive, otherworldly dropoff.

To be honest I feel the same way (dunno if it's the truth though). Maybe in the evening more people play SWF. So if you're solo you get matched with other solos more frequently? Idk, how to explain it.

Me too, but, I have to buy spirit, skull Merchant and Deathslinger in the killer side

and ... A lot of survivor (11 character in total to buy)

That's a lot, I mean I also have a lot to buy. I just can't buy them atm even if a sale happens. I have been playing for less than a year.

  • I check the store almost daily in hopes we get a sale 🤣

We did get a sale in Epic Store but it's not the same. I prefer the ingame sales (both iri sales and auric cells sales) because there's a lot more flexibility. I just wanna buy Zarina and Spirit (and a few more survivors if possible).

What I think you meant to say is SWF is the strongest role. Go play solo queue and tell me that with a straight face. BHVR can choose to ignore it all they want but solo queue is disgustingly bad right now.

You have to remember, killers don't play solo or don't care about it. Either they play only killer, or play with SWF or play solo to "relax" (meaning not sweat or tryhard).

So you won't get far with most of them. When they say survivor is strong, they always mean SWF.

I see way more Flashlights in my games and Medkits tbh.

Any side that brings the strongest stuff forces the other side to play on their pace.

    Yep.

If developers want to get spicy, they could add basekit Tenacity too, once Survivors have been slugged for more than 30 seconds.

The fundamental problem is lack of player agency. Being slugged for 4 minutes is similar to the experience of old Eruption. Players want to play, and, obviously, in those circumstances, it's almost impossible to play.

(A quick bleedout option is a no-brainer fix, so, naturally, it probably won't happen.)

If players could control their bleedout, they'd have agency.

If players could crawl with Tenacity speed (after 30 seconds), they'd have agency.

I mean if survivors can be productive after their first hook (which pierced them close to their heart), it does not make any sense they cannot get up after being down. Like survivors can survive 2 hooks and do gens and escape but if you slug them and no one has unbreakable then no one can do anything?

  • It's coming in a year (if we're being optimistic) or more. Maybe with camping nerfed killers will go for a more slug heavy playstyle and I think that will uncover the truth about slugging.

  • I always think I should track my games (since BHVR is allergic to releasing stats) but I never get around to it. It's a bit hard to track not gonna lie, although I like the idea of it.

  • Devour Hope first and Blood Favor second. I know it definitely is annoying to face and I will try to find it.

I also love Distortion, but since I play mostly solo and when I SWF we do without comms I cannot share my discoveries with anyone.

Although one time it saved my ass from a Huntress running Blood Warden.

Well, countering camping was the role of Reassurance and it's also behind a paywall. And I agree. Strong perks/counters should not be hidden behind a paywall. That is bullshit and makes the game pay to win even if at some point they are added to the Shrine, you don't know when that will be.

Lol guessing you haven't heard the conspiracy theory that survivors let go on hook after nerfs in order to increase kill rates so killers get nerfed? It's been around for awhile and still pops up. So there's apparently an anti killer agenda too.

Tbh, the same can be said for the other side. If every killer chose to proxy-camp, tunnel and slug at the best of times, BHVR would likely address those strategies a lot sooner than they are doing. Plus the killrate would be more representative in general.

  • I am in Europe, maybe that has something to do with it.

  • Actually many perks are. Basekit I doubt I can deal with Nurse running her strongest stuff, heck any killer running their strongest stuff.

That's why survivors have been getting so many basekit buffs, because survivors can't deal with certain strategies either unless they bring certain perks. This problem exists for both sides. If no one has unbreakable a killer employing the slugging strategy can guarantee a huge advantage. A killer holding a three gen is also hard to deal with unless you brought a toolbox or specific perks for that.

  • @Shroompy said:

Yeah I HATE looking at the ground. Thats why I play as The Walking Menace

The pure dread a survivor feels from looking at a full bloody Nurse slowly walking towards them...

    "Is this really happening?"

    "Why isnt she blinking?"

"Oh my god ######### just blink!"

"What a min- wha- is that Bamboozle!?"

Once a Survivor knows theyre up against The Walking Menace, they know 2 things. They can run, and they can hide.

That's exactly how I feel when Nurses walk me down.

I begin to wander if they brought that Iri add-on that gives her the basic movement speed of killers.

    • Performs terribly on bad server latency
    • Gets stuck in the slam animation while rushing sometimes
    • Coming into direct contact with a survivor can sometimes make you slide backwards
    • Tile collision is wonky after every update
    • Randomly going into fatigue at the start of a rush
    • Randomly gets hit with double fatigue
    • Rushing right as you get fatigue makes you rush in slow motion sometimes until you do a killer interaction to cancel it
    • Bumping into random collision tiles can cause you to bump backwards and be frozen in this animation until you DC (sent a ticket to support with video proof but it never got acknowledged)
    • Crouch & pluto tech

    List goes on.

Ok so basically, none of these are weaknesses the survivor can exploit except the last because they are bugs and not real weaknesses. If he can perform consistently at high level then it means those bugs don't happen commonly enough to cost Blight the game.

Besides his bugs, what are his weaknesses that survivors can exploit? Are there even any?

  • @o7o said:

    He has many weaknesses. lol

C33, Alch Ring, and Vial are really the only add-ons that are strong and need a nerf, other than that, it's fair.

I don't get why people hate one of the most hardest killers to learn that's also the most funnest to play.

It's rare you come across a good Blight like Array, Momo, or V1, most normally make lots of mistakes (also depends on RNG and survivor efficiency) so more power to you.

"He has many weaknesses" forgets to mention what weaknesses he has if he is piloted by a decent player.

When I play vs Nurse I can run her for a little while because her counterplay fits me a lot more than the looping you do vs most M1 killers. But those Nurses are also not usually that good I find, despite my teammates falling like flies to her. Can you really counterplay a decent to good Nurse even if she does not run her strongest add-ons?

  • Alternatively you can use Lethal Pursuer to find your first survivors, bonus points if you go and disrupt all the ones teaming up on a generator (oftentimes it can be 3). This really disorganizes survivors as they have to move around for a bit and you also get free hits in at the start. SO now they have to look for a different gen. Either go at the other side of the map to be safe, or in the middle of the map where you'll probably get to interrupt them again during your chase with the first survivor.

At least that's how Lethal goes in my games.

  • @Xernoton said:

How many pallets do you believe the killer can possibly get out of the way in that time?

90 seconds into the match the killer loses 2-3 gens. If a killer needs 15 seconds to find the first survivor ( which is faster than most killers do) and another 10 seconds until they catch up that's only 65 seconds left. From here on the actual looping begins. Say the survivor buys another 15 seconds by dropping a pallet and only gets hit after 25 seconds by dropping another, that allows them to run and maintain distance for about 15 more seconds. This is where the second looping phase begins and the survivor plays even more careful. Another 25 seconds until they go down and about 10 seconds to hook puts the killer at 90 seconds and the loss of 3 gens (at least). In that time they got 3 maybe 4 pallets out of the way and that only happens, if the survivor doesn't play well around windows or god forbid used an exhaustion perk.

Few killers can actually destroy the survivors' ressources as fast as they can finish gens even without items. You don't go through pallets left and right as a killer, which is why a late first down puts you in a very bad spot.

It depends on the map anyway. And if survivors finish gens at parts of the map full of resources then they are forced to move to parts of the map that have become deadzones as that's where the gens that need to be done are now.

  • @Frogsplosion said:

You CAN come back if you were already playing correctly, if all 3 of you were on a different gen at start and one player drops you should still be able to finish at least two of those and then start trading chases with whoever has the killer while finishing 2 more, even in soloq while it's rare I did manage to pull this off a couple times.

I've never managed to pull it off. Unless the killer is very bad. If the level is the same for everyone involved I think killer has the edge.

Idk like I said I’m definitely low to mid MMR (where this is largely happening) and I haven’t really seen it. I saw one person DC in 15 games and that was with 2 gens left on Ormond. I don’t really see survivors throw on hook. In fact what I have seen is survivors actually get to 2nd hook without being saved and still struggle. Maybe it happens but I’d think I would see more signs of this alleged epidemic of survivors throwing games. After all I am in the population where this happens. So why am I not seeing it?

Might be different from region to region. Where do you play?

1 … 15 16 17 18 19 … 34
