  • Tbh, DH was a very good counter vs killer like Nurse and Blight. Other killers also suffered, although some didn't quite care (ex. Legion and Deathslinger), so now the other exhaustion perks aren't that good against the top killers (SB is ok-ish?).

  • Reddit is spreading misinformation. They all claim the want to be booped. Be mad at them. I get the message once I get hit trying to boop.

Its not about liking a thread or not, lol. Its a forum thread to check out, thats all. Liking it or not has no relevance in terms of agreeing or disagreeing with you.

Sure, you can rant. Go at it, man. I've done it before too. Most of us have. The difference is when you call for nerfs on things w/o anything more than a result scoreboard screenshot and then when asked to show footage or actual evidence, you clapback 'nope sorry this is enough and i dont need anything else'. So everyone should just take your word and believe it?

Ahh, yes lets call everyone clowns who disagrees with you when they have every right to, especially considering you have 0 real proof. What people want to see is the match, you don't want to upload it or don't have the footage. But I'm willing to bet you made some dumb decisions or mistakes and there''s probably room for critique on your part.

You surprised not everyone agrees with you or has the same take? Wow who could have seen that coming. And whether you want to know me or not doesn't matter. You made a baseless thread to rant in because you had a bad match and I decided to reply to it. Fair is fair. Likewise to you, enjoy your day.

They said in the first post the survivors stayed injured, when I infered the survivors didn't cleanse they seemed to agree with me (at least that's how I read their reply to me), so this is more a post about survivors using the counterplay to deny Plague hey power. MfT was just the nail on the coffin.

I wish we had kinda Bond or something to tell us where other survivors are.

Bond doesn't reveal your location to someone else, and if you want both you have two run at least 2 different Perks. With aftercare you could show them your aura at your own detriment but AFTER you activate it. And you need to activate it thrice to get its full effect. It's a fair trade off.

Now you need to keep reactivating it, which compared to other aura perks makes too much work and extremely inconsistent. It's the self-care of aura perks.

Yes, even just reverting it would be already nice.

But if the perk get putting in line with Scavenger (rummage for a Toolbox) or RM (rummage for a Flashlight), which able to rummage for a Green medkit, would be great.

I agree with you, I've also been considering it that it should allow you to rummage, and rummage perks should also show you the auras of opened chests. At least it could come in clutch in end game if your team has abandoned you and you are injured.

I dont think it's considered a healing action by the game mechanics. It says something like "gain a health state" or something so it's not affected by healing buffs/nerfs (ie botany knowledge, sloppy butcher). I think the better option would be pregame lobby showing the load out to the team.

I agree it should somehow be made visible. I've had teammates purposely lead the killer over to me while I'm sitting in the locker waiting for the heal. Luckily in this one instance the heal popped and the killer didnt like that the Steve did that so he killed the Steve and gave me hatch 😅

That's just terminology, I think it should still show you as being in the process of healing yourself.

Well DS I feel has been needed a little too hard I just feel it’s a worse OTR and OTR give endurance for 80 secs along with 2 other perk functions so OTR doesn’t require timing/skill to pull off and doesn’t cause exhaust

Yeah, but your problem was that DH doesn't activate unless you get hooked. Which is true about OTR as well. If you get hooked in end game alone you never got any use out of OTR either.

Perhaps the thread should be about if it's alright for an exhaustion perk to have instances when it can never be activated and if its risk should be this big (you literally get 1 try per hookstate, so a maximum of 2, and if you fail them you don't get them back) and compare it to Balanced Landing, which is highly map dependent (since they might be trying to address Balanced Landing with the new map's small ramps, correct me if I'm wrong, BL does work with those ramps right?)

Tell me how often you run it and how consistently it gives you value over other aura-reading perks.

I don't run it. its too inconsistent where bond is better. their concern is that aftercare can power-creep the original aura perks because it gives them to your teammates. like why run 4 bond when you can run 4 aftercare if it never disabled. that is their logic.

Because Bond is more efficient than after care and more consistent.

You don't have to do anything unnecessary to activate bond. With Aftercare you'd have to run across the map to unhook even if it doesn't make sense for you to travel all that distance, let alone someone getting there before you and completing the unhook. At least you might be able to get a heal out of it if you're lucky, or you just lost 20 or more seconds trying to get the minimum amount of use from your perk. Which will be the same cost whether Aftercare resets or not.

For the activation it requires it definitely needs to offer something better than Bond, Empathy and Empathic Connection offer, not worse. Otherwise there's no competition. It should be a pros and cons thing, is it important the value you MAY get out of Aftercare, or are you more concerned with the efficiency the other aura perks offer?

If anything it's Empathy that is a worse Bond at the moment and could receive an update. At least Empathic Connection grants you some healing speed.

Empathy says it grants you vision of Injured survivors or ones in the Dying State, but vision of survivors in the Dying State is already basekit, so it's half a perk. And I don't think Empathy can override Blindness, so it's useless against Knockout as well. Maybe if it was immune to Blindness it would do something unique.

  • At least when DH was strong we only got complaints about it and were reassured that the rest of the exhaustion perks were ok and fair.

  • Same can be said about DS though and OTR, as they don't activate at all if you never get hooked. They end up as wasted perk-slots. I don't think you are supposed to run DH as your only exhaustion perk anymore.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The reset conditon sort of makes it so it's not a straight upgrade over Empathy, Bond or Empathitic Connection which have there own condition's to providing teammate aura reading. Without the reset condition these perk's would basically be seen as useless, yeah they provide the aura reading for free, but having aftercare be permanent heavily outweigh's when those other perks would activate.

Maybe they could reverse the reset requirment to not be on the person using it, but the aura reading being lost on teammates when hooked could be better than making it just perma.

Bond has no condition, it only has range. It's active 24/7.

And the rest you listed have conditions that are met easier than Aftercare, without having to go out of your way.

Yeah then those kind of people don't care about MMR in any way, period.

They do care, you don't have to make such a blanket statement. People who want to make more money don't all become criminals to make the most amount of money available at the cost of everything. Some do it in a low abiding way. Some weigh the pros and cons of specific careers. They might be ok doing a certain occupation that has a good salary, but not ok with another who pays more but will have to sacrifice their free time. And some who might be even be worried that much about the money a job offers as long as it's their passion.

There's people who are just happy to play the game. Those definitely don't care. But people definitely have a sense of fairness in them. Getting put in the match with someone who has 10x your playtime feels unfair to you, especially if you've dedicated time to learn this game, as it doesn't allow you to see the fruits of your labor as directly.

it can give aura reading to the entire team. Like If I am injured, I can directly walk to you for healing. When your in chase, you can loop away from me when I am on a generator because you can see my aura and I can see your aura. When you loop the killer, I can see you running away and I can deduce where the killer is based off your movement. you also provide me information about which pallet you drop which means that I can avoid areas where you drop pallets that the killer breaks. In certain situations, I can body block for you.

you are providing me empathy, window of opportunity, arbitrary position of the killer and generator information for when I loop the killer. your giving free aura perks to your teammates. the entire team gets that in relationship to you. that is what I meant by free perks for teammates. dev probably think that is too strong so they put negative on the perk.

How is it providing Windows of Opportunity?

You get this information only if you heal/save your mate(s) or they heal you. This is a perk that to get is maximum benefit you have to go out of your way to save/heal someone you haven't healed before, and hope someone else doesn't save them/heal them first. Tell me how often you run it and how consistently it gives you value over other aura-reading perks.

What you just described bond already does without any activation condition. You can see your teammate(s) when getting chased and go somewhere else. You can see your mate getting chased and follow them with a flashlight, you can see your injured mate and follow them to heal them.

Should I expect your next answer to be "that's why Bond is so strong and should be nerfed". Those are the point of aura reading perks, to provide some knowledge so you can co-ordinate certain things, otherwise what's the point of running them? Bond is also a perk that only you equip and because of the knowledge it provides you, it can also benefit your team. It doesn't prevent your mates from running away and you following them for 10 or more seconds to heal them, or someone playing exceptionally selfish with Bond.

  • As unfair as running the strongest add-ons/perks on your killer against an un-coordinated survivor team is.

Yeah, this forum also houses the same people who told you to let go when your teammate was about to go down when Eruption made you incapacitated, and that you could tell when that was about to happen if you would just bring Empathy.

Oh yeah that is completely true but MfT also completely rewards this type of play style against her and hurts plague even more. I kinda wish there was a addon on plague right now that exhausted a survivor if they fully infected for x amount of time or something. Right now with MfT this counter to plague is even stronger than before since it kinda removes the risk of being infected. Who cares I'm broken and injured when I can move 3% faster against a tall 115% woman who can only m1....

It's just unlucky that the current meta perk is a strong counter to her. But many killers have strong counters as perks. Like if everyone ran Calm Spirit against a Doc (or old Iron Will vs Spirit), then he'd also have a very difficult game, as he'd lose a core part of his gameplay, which is the information his power offers him (unless he brings specific add-ons). But as survivors don't know the killer they're up against, they can't counterpick perks.

Resilience also becomes stronger vs killers you have to stay injured (like Plague or Legion).

The problem is that they MfT, while also emplyong a counter strategy. Do you think if they cleansed and gave you your power, you'd have any trouble hitting them even if they all brought MfT?

  • @nars said:

And theres also no regression in the game either. If you remove most of the options a killer has to slow down a game, then tunneling becomes more desirable. Bit of an oversight there.

Jolt is currently broken, as it makes survivors scream when it triggers. I also seem some killers run Plaything with Hex: Pentimento. Which naturally slows down the game, as survivors can be forced to cleanse totems which means they're not doing gens.

Also maybe the game isn't into a regression meta any more. I see a lot more killers use perks like Corrupt Intervention, Deadman's Switch, Deadlock and Thrilling Treamors. Which in a solo survivor environment is not that easy to counter due to lack of co-ordination. Pain Resonance is still meta as well. It's just that regression isn't as big anymore, but slowdown perks are more prevalent than they were before.

Pop goes the Weasel also got buffed recently.

they're scared that soloq becomes as strong as swf with the perk. Aftercare gives your teammate a 5th perk slot since your giving them aura reading in which they do not need to bring aura reading. Another aspect they could put in the perk to buff it is to add co-op generators as a way to activate the perk.

You already have to activate it at least once for each different survivor. There's a reason MoM is in the place it is currently.

As there's no option to know what perks your teammates bring, it doesn't really save you a perk slot, because someone else might also bring it, making 2 of them in the same game redundant. Also they can only know you aura, no one else's. it's not like it gives aura reading to the whole team. Which is a big risk, as they can snitch on you and bring killer to you. For solo survivor it can be a very high price to pay, since you cannot control your teammates.

  • @Dustin said:

I miss the old Pharmacy perk - I stopped running it when it required you be injured. It makes more sense now but I really enjoyed hoarding Green Medkits + it was a less opportunistic perk before. Now when you get injured you have to hope that you have time to get to a chest before it's opened and before the killer finds you and if a survivor finds you they can just heal you. Would really prefer it just be given the Rummage action like all the other item perks or something else entirely.

Yeah, it should have both actions since you have to be injured. It's useless if your teammates have opened all the chests.

  • @supersonic853 said:

I think this is a result of fear of aura reveal for teammates permanetly being to strong in any capacity. Why bond also has a range. And empathy a stipulation. They feared giving all 4 survivors precise knowledge of eachother permanently would break the gamestate. But if anything it bridges the gap a bit between swf and solo. So with aftercares requirements i could see it going to permanent.

But aftercare only lets you see all of them and them you. They can't see each other if they don't bring any aura reading.

  • It's because they stayed infected and pretty much denied you your power. Even when MfT wasn't around this was the counterplay to Plague, granted everyone was co-ordinated obviously.

  • @fulltonon said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3467780#Comment_3467780

I don't get logic behind that, there is no reward for it.

And it's not like there is any point in "gaming" system, dc is a problem of it's own.

Those who want to win try to win regardless, and those who don't will not, nothing changes.

Not really, not everyone wants to win using overpowered and uninteractive strategies. Sure some people are that type of player, but a majority want to win on their terms doing something they find fun. If the most boring killer became overpowered tomorrow, there would be some players who would move from Nurse to that killer in a heartbeat, since that would be the new OP killer. others would still stay loyal to Nurse for the fun factor she can provide.

That doesn't mean they don't care about winning, they just aren't willing to make that sacrifice. Pro players are the ones who play whatever is OP. That's why they're pro, because they're always willing to adapt.

  • @UnknownKiller said:

Well you can always discourage repair being injured with a nice 50% repair penalty I dont think you can repair much stuff with a claymore cut on ur back for example

Ok, so what's to stop killers running Sloppy with Nurse's and interrupting you every time and no gens get done? That'll be a new obnoxious slowddown meta with games taking way to long and syringes being mandatory.

  • @WeenieDog said:

  • @Ayodam said:

I never saw those perks, and like 4/5ths of all survivor perks stink so it’s no break from the norm. Eventually BHVR will either rollback or in someway lessen their healing nerfs because survivors are pushing gens and not focusing on healing as much. It’s upsetting killer mains.

I actually really like the idea of Reactive Healing, although at the time (before healing nerfs) there were obviously better perks to run, so it didn't have a place in my load out. But if it didn't suffer from Sloppy Butcher as much I'd definitely run it. (I actually saw someone running Resurgence yesterday).

  • I actually didn't get that question. Wish they also asked which perks to buff, that are underplayed right now.

  • I'm kind of surprised you're complaining about the 4%, which is so rare anyway and not like Deliverance, which is guaranteed and also gives you protection. Although maybe now that you're reminded of it you also won't like that it gets endurance.

    And the mocking/insulting part?

Maybe they think they're being funny. Idk. Earlier I played against a Legion who facecamped and kept hitting me on hook, but after they unhooked me he didn't care all that much about me and let us all go. I have no idea what he was trying to communicate cause frankly it was a lot of mixed messages. Maybe he thought he was being funny since I took him out of his power like 2-3 times during the game, idk. Sometimes it's really hard to tell.

  • Probably only they can answer. Maybe after the sacrificed someone at 5-4 gens they realized they don't have to go as hard?

  • @HugTechLover said:

I’m not going to call one side easier than the other. They both have their cons.

I have to sweat much more in killer to win, but I still win the vast majority of my games.

I don’t win as much on survivor, but it’s much more chill. I can sit on gens and eat a snack, and just relax. Can’t do that on killer.

That's something I see many killers say. That's why I don't think survivors and killers agree. Cause when killers say "survivor is easier" they usually mean what you say. But survivors understand that if it's easier to play then it should be easier to win as well, which is not the case for solo survivor, same with this thread.

The OP claims survivor is easy to play, but how easy is to consistently get 3 or more out when you're playing solo? (To be considered a team win and not solo win).

  • I don't understand those people honestly. I've had some teammates who just don't wanna heal you, I don't get it, they don't even run EGC perks. Are they trying to play killer David since incentive is on survivor? Who knows.

fair Maria would be cool too, but for now i would give priority to main characters like Henry and Harry. i agree with your opinion on Lisa tho

I mean ya, I don't understand how Lisa got a precedent over Harry, although it was because of her I found out about DBD to be honest, because I recognized her. Saw her on a video of a youtuber who mains her am the resemblance was undeniable, so I looked up DBD and was very excited it had SH and RE characters as well as horror movie characters.

  • I've seen more Knight this past month than Twins and people used to say the same thing about Knight.

Singularity has a sort of appeal the way Knight has even if his gameplay might not be as exciting, I am sure it fills a sort of need for sci-fi killers. Like I assume people who are playing/trying out Knight is cause they find his concept cool more than anything. Twins doesn't really have a category they could fit easily aesthetically.

  • @Lost_Boy said:

I mean survivors get the chance to make 6 mistakes each assuming you're not being face camped or tunneled. So in theory all survivors could make a combined total of 20 mistakes and all 4 would still be alive. That's significantly more than what a killer can make during a match.

Most mistakes generally come from bad teammates that don't really know how to play the game properly or are inexperienced.

How did you come up with the number 6?

  • It would be nice if they did extend it.

  • I would love if we got Maria from SH2. She's such an obvious choice, more so than Lisa in my opinion.

Same with Henry. Also they cna give Fend like one of the nurses' costume to cosplay, and it would make sense as you can't have the nurses as either Cheryl or Pyramid Head.

  • I liked the new map, wish we got it more often cause I haven't learned it at all. Survivor is one of the stronger ones in a long time. I think killer might be slept on after his buffs, because people are still convinced he's still weak.

Maybe it's simply wrong to compare any other killers to Wesker's release, as he's both a licensed character from a very popular franchise and he's very fun to play as and against. BHVR might have hit a goldmine with him, so it's probably unprecedented.

People used to say the same about Knight, but I feel like I see a lot more Knight now than I ever did when he was first released (and arguably he was a lot stronger back then, since Eruption+CoB was meta).

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I like the idea but I think it goes into paying for your survival territory. Two survivors left and one has and item and the other doesn't. Killer will go for the one without the item to score those extra BPs.

I mean, nothing stops the killer from taking your item and killing you. So not sure it would ensure your safety.

Plus if it's something like 2k, it's not that substantial I would assume over killing the survivor.

  • Chases are the most fun for me as survivor. I don't always go out of my way to attract the killer cause sometimes you have to be the one doing gens instead of throwing.

It's also fun when sometimes killers are nice and you goof around, but as the game doesn't have much in the way of doing besides the core gameplay it can get boring fast. It would be nice if you could interact more with your environment for fun, like idk, break the bottles in dead dog saloon, change channels on TV etc.

Introduce a new perk that provides you endurance (for, say, 2/3/4 seconds) whenever you successfully sabotage a hook.

I think it would be cool if we got a perk that allows you to complete an action if you're more than halfway there. Like say if you're saving someone and the killer grabs you but your progress is over 50% you complete the action and then the grab is completed, same with sabo. That would be kind of cool. And you still have trade offs ofc, because you get grabbed or hit.

  • Congrats, I see you don't have any commitment issues.

Toolbox has limited charges, which are consumed as part of the sabotage action, not taken all at once at the end of the animation. The toolbox will run out, no matter how many perks or add-ons you bring to extend it's life, or if you actually complete the animation to break a hook or not.

If the cooldown for Saboteur didn't trigger until you had successfully broken a hook you could 95%/cancel it indefinitely.

You're trading saboing a hook for a health state. You cannot do it indefinitely.

  • @AmpersandUnderscore said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3465172#Comment_3465172

The reason it works like it does it to prevent abuse cases.

The game only allows either the survivors or the killer to interact with items at any given time, which is why you can't kick a gen while it's being repaired.

Similarly, the killer can't interact with a hook during the sabotage animation. So if the cooldown only started after the hook was broken, you could start the animation, cancel it at 95% and immediately restart it, all while blocking the hook from being used for free.

The only way to avoid that issue would be to have the killer hook override the sabotage action, so you could hook while the sabotage was in progress but not yet finished (like how you can kick a pallet that is being lifted by any means necessary). That would completely destroy saboteur into uselessness.

Toolbox works that way and it doesn't get abused. Plus you trade a healthstate or two most of the time. It's a fair trade. On top of that the killer can go to a different hook anyway, it's not like the maps have shortage of hooks.

  • I am having fun sometimes. Today was a good day, although yesterday was definitely awful. Even had a nice Huntress who played with us and I escaped quite a few games today as well as got Renato!

Also lasted a lot in some chases so it's all good to me but I can understand how some days it's unbearable.
