Please don't take this post personal or otherwise offensive but some of us are playing really bad. I hope these next few tips will make your matches more enjoyable for you and your team.
- Do gens!!! This gets old, I know. However - still true. Especially opening of the match. Those few dozen seconds are the most precious for the whole team. Never again in the match there will be a situation when all 4 survivors can freely do gens. Killers (good killers) know it as well. That's why Corrupt Intervention is so strong, and when killer equips it, he means business.
- My second point is close to first one. Opening chests, cleansing dull totems is pointless. Items are nerfed to the ground so time it takes to search them is time that could be spent on a gen. Not even green toolbox can offset that. Of course there are specific situations but those are outliers.
- Never do threesome on a gen without prove thyself. It just takes third persons time and adds maybe 4 seconds to gen progress.
- Never camp with a killer. It is like a gift for a facecamper when two other survivors look from a safe distance how someone is dying on a hook. Whether you go in or do gen, nothing in between. There is variation for advanced survivors swf but they dont need these tips.
There are some more I would like to add but no one reads posts that long. Maybe will do a part two if this wont cause an outrage.
Sometimes opening chests is necessary, if you need a Medkit and your team is allergic to healing you, if you're looking for a key for hatch.
I had a game earlier where I spawned in front of a chest and opened it in case of Medkit (I already had a Flashlight on me ) and what do you know. EGC starts my team is nowhere near me in the swamp and I need healing since I'm dead on hook, I just got healed at the chest and left safely. It was against a Knight and he had left a minion on the exit gate.
I try to do gens in the center as they are really important, but I cannot communicate that with my team so many times I get found out. Wish we could set priorities for specific gens. I work on gens even if there's only 2 of us left since usually there's nothing better to do.

I found windows blocking pretty useless but i want to hear why you think it's unfair. Maybe i used it wrong.
I think you're supposed to use it on buildings like House of Pain or the houses in Haddonfield.

I don't think Unbreakable deserves S tier. It's like 1 in 20 matches where you actually get massive value from it. Sure it can win games, but it doesn't do it nearly as often as people say. Not in 2023.
Plunderer's Instincts in F tier seems a little harsh. Yeah the hatch got nerfed, and so did medkits, and toolboxes. But it's still a great way to get good items. Maybe C tier for it.
Kindred, Iron Will, and Detective's Hunch I think deserve to move up one. They're great perks just not as memorable as the current strongest. Some more love for Open Handed would be nice, because you did put Windows of Opportunity and Bond high up, which are justifiably there. I'd switch Balanced Landing and Dead Hard honestly. DH is still good, and has more applications than Balanced Landing.
Overall it's a somewhat accurate list, most survivor perks are niche but really good when that specific scenario happens, or if an entire build is dedicated to it. I disagree with a lot of the aura & healing perk's placements.
Yeah, even when I get to use Unbreakable, I don't think it's won me games. It's really weird. It feels bad when you don't have it on, but when you do it's useless. You need a team that buzzes around the killer like a fly when he downs you so he doesn't pick up.You don't even need to get up yourself but it really speeds up the process.

Wiretap is getting heavily slept on. It is probably the best solo queue perk right now and even in SWF can have the decent benefits of seeing a killer while being chased at a tile. It’s so great for many things.
Wiretap got indirectly buffed when they nerfed the gen kicking meta. Had to find out the hard way (they would not kick my Blastmined gen anymore). It's time to use it again, although I don't know if perks like Jolt do anything to it. Got any idea?
-
I dunno, someone called me stupid once. I have crossplay on so most people don't write in end game chat.
I also had a Plague complain I didn't go save Nea, when she hooked Nea on the other side of the map and the gate next to her wasn't even ready (it was just me and Nea) which I found weird.
-
I just work on a gen. It's better than hiding all game waiting for the other to die. I prefer to do a gen and if I get caught I got caught. I especially hate it when it's only like one gen left and they just want to hide. They just doomed both of us lol.
-
Are they supposed to stay in the streets vs killers? Let alone vs an Oni? The street usually spawns like 2 gens in it.

The cooldown should only activate when you successfully sabotage a hook not when you let go. It’s annoying how I go to sabotage I let go and have to go through it’s stupid cooldown just use it again for a little mistake.
I also find it stupid for the same reason. I don't understand why it works this way.
-
Being able to see hook aura's always, or at least when the survivor is downed not when they're picked up. Meaning you can prepare better without communication. Also the perk should go into cooldown only when the action is completed not when you are interrupted. Maybe I wanna trade both of my health states for a teammate who's going to die on hook. But usually what happens is you get hit during your first one whing Saboing a hook, get interrupted and the perk goes on cooldown.

I actually tried this build. I cannot do all the totems on my own and if I do that means I am not doing gens. So which should I prioritize? I am starting to think those advising me are bullshitting me.

The whole team doesn’t have to spend time cleansing totems. You can play cautiously and just not get caught when the fifth gen pops and then look for the disco totem.
One person can use one perk that lets them know where totems are and how many are left. One person, out of four, can equip one perk out of a combined 16 perks, to counter one killer perk.
Maps are also a thing. If you don’t have any, Plunderers is a great perk to hoard them.
Game should not be balanced around bad solo-queue players. The game should be balanced around players who know how to play. If it’s bad teammates you have a problem with, then ask the devs to improve matchmaking, not easily countered killer perks. Barring that, you’re more than welcome to form a swf.
In the end, git gud.
Again, in which part do I control my teammates not doing stupid stuff in end game and them not trying to be super altruistic or something? Also why shouldn't the killer camp his totem by hooking the downed survivor next to it if it's not on the other side of the map?
It's like we're talking about braindead killers here. But survivors have to be at least decent.
Not being able to co-ordinate with no communication features doesn't make one a bad player, they make them disadvantaged.
A killer getting someone cause the survivor walked to a dead zone he didn't know was a dead zone is not a skill issue on the survivor's part. It's a game flaw since we cannot communicate to each other where pallets are left.
Survivors having trouble doing all gens is cause we don't know where the gen getting worked on is. It's not a skill issue I cannot guess a random gen. It's a gameflaw that requires me and my teammates to play as a team but gives us no means to do so. Do you know how many times I've wanted to send some sort of message to my teammates to go finish my central gen?
Even if matchmaking was fixed, the communication stuff is still missing. And matchmaking would greatly benefit upper levels where survivors are well-rounded in general. But mid to low levels would also benefit more from some sort of communication system, like ask for healing or ask for a specific gen to be focused on.
Till then let me 'git gud' at being a mind reader.

Sometimes the character we like cause of the lore doesn't translate well into characters we like gameplay wise. So if you ever come back I would advice you to just try killers and see who you like gameplay-wise. I really like the idea of Twins from a lore point, but their gameplay just seems uninteresting to me, so they are pretty down my list. But Wesker I could see playing although I don't care about his lore that much, because he just has a fun gameplay (and many people agree with me, that's why he's so popular) while also being a strong killer.
This happens on every game, a character may appeal to you from a lore perspective and aesthetic perspective but may not speak to you gameplay-wise.

Exactly, They devs made it clear that no perks or item completed negated killers power, unless it is a killer specific item like Wesker's first aid spray or Singularity's emp. They reworked flashlights and even toolbox, that flashlights light burns on specific Killer's like wraith and hag, and also how toolbox/the perk sabotage can be used to complete breakdown and make Trapper's bear traps completed useless for a great duration of time; render his only power useless.
If No Mither was "buffer" and make no blood orbs for ONI; then Whats stopping him from having a full squad of swf bringing No Mither all together would be quite a terrible game for Oni, with his passive slowest Regen, even with best regen addons.
Plus, No Mither isn't exactly meant to be a meta perk, more like "Best" Hardcore DBD perk, for those want to take a challenge or do adept David, or even be a CHAD in gen repair speed.
Survivors can't pick the killer they get, nor can they counterpick perks vs a killer. It's all up to chance. It's more common to get one No Mither person vs Oni than it is to get 4 No Mithers, let alone 4 No Mithers vs specifically an Oni. Plus Oni still has the same ability of downing people cause No Mither only has one health state. He just doesn't get to zoom around.

Its insane it doesnt Matter how fast ur chases when Survivors doing Gens u are going to lose whit just 1k because the Gens are way to fast
i hv so many Game where i end a chase in like 20s and still just get 1k at the end because the Gen speed is to fast if u are not Blight or Nurse ( and maybe Spirit or Wesker ) u cant hold the Gens because of the awful Map Design
Map Design is the biggest Problem of the Game but since it is impossible to Balance all Maps they need to do something about Gens
How to fix Gen Speed
- Nerf Toolboxes Gen Progression
- Nerf Prove Thyself
- maybe make a weaker Version of Corrupted Basekit
- Buff Base Gen Regression
- nerf MFT ( it doesnt do something about Gen Speed but it extend a Chase way to long u can hold a M1 Killer 4 ever on a Strong loop )
Plz BHVR do something against Gen Speed
U nerfed the best Gen Regression Perk because the Gen kicking Meta was unfun but didnt nerf the Gen Speed, the Healing nerf was a good Idea because it would have give Killer way much more time but sadly the nerf got reverted and Killers didnt got anything
im watching a German Streamer who plays in a 4 SwF Group and they alway escabe where the Killers just have like 4 Hooks or just 1k is this how the Game should be in High Rank ?
Are you talking about Hens? He's probably like a top 0.01% player along with his team. if he and his team could not win consistently then there would be something extremely wrong with survivor. Also their win streak never reached the win-streak of some Blights and Nurses.

Mathematically though? You are doomed. Because at that point, survivors can just predrop every single pallet, and you are guaranteed to lose. Survivors losing the game at that point, is just because they start trolling, or playing badly because they get confident. The game basically hinges on:
- Do the survivors finish 3 gens before/during your first hook, if so, you lose.
- Do you down the first survivor and hook them before the first gen pops, if so, you probably win, because you can proxy camp it out.
This isn't a healthy state for the game, in either case. They need to do something to rebalance the game and even it out, such that the game isn't decided in basically the first 60 seconds. It isn't fun for anyone involved.
What mathematically? You have no math in your post.
Survivors who do the 3 closest gens at the edge of the map are not gonna predrop. I've still lost games where we've done 3 gens on first chase, it's pretty common for someone to throw or for gens to become harder to complete.
I've played games where a person cleansed 2-3 times in the span of a minute vs Plague. He cleansed before saving an infected teammate, then got infected and he cleansed again. And then I've had games with randoms who somehow we're sharing a brain and they know to body guard etc. Although those ofc are rare. Even I have wildly different skill expression in my games. I could fall in 15 seconds or take over a minute or more to go down.
What is the average experience? Are killers really having all that trouble getting 3-4k on average? Because last time the stats were released it showed they were doing quite well, even the weaker ones.
Is your argument taking into consideration only SWF? Only solo's who are all decent to good? Because everyone who plays solo survivor and has posted here talks about getting matched with newbies.
I even have games vs killers who are pretty decent and they somehow get matched with people who might not have played a lot. What's going on there?
The game usually slows down after the first 3 gens more often than not. Do you even play solo survivor?
-
Idk, I think it can be accurate most of the time, it's just that at Iri grades the system is way more strict and you need to do pretty good at many roles (with survivor emblem being the most difficult since survivors are the side that's supposed to lose more).
But as a teammate I would say a person who keeps the killer busy for the rest of us is more skilled than the person doing gens. While both are important, being able to keep the killer pre-occupied for 1 min or more requires you understand how the map plays out, the killer powers, your own perks, maybe killer perks if they affect chasing etc. All in all being in a chase and doing well, requires a lot of split second decisions and prior experience as well as being able to asses the player behind the killer you're playing against.
Obviously the game cannot be won by a survivor just getting chased, so gens are the way you win the game (and therefore more important), but in comparison there's less mechanical skill involved, you don't really have to make many decisions (unless the killer is coming towards you) and the knowledge you need to have (do central gen first, or focus certain gens to avoid 3-gen etc.) seems to me to be maybe on a similar degree or maybe even less than for the looper.
I do think if you completed a whole gen by yourself you should receive more points than it currently awards.
-
Just cause 3 gen pops doesn't mean your game is doomed. If survivors do the first gen they spawn close to chances are they completed the 3 closest gens at the edge of the map. So if you're perceptive and notice you can always contest certain gens instead of commiting to chases and some killers (not just Blight and Nurse) don't have any trouble doing that. With Blight and Nurse it's just easier to contest gens that are in the edges, but if the survivors completed the wrong gens you might be able to salvage that.
As a survivor I've also had games where survivors (or even myself) go down before even a gen is completed and it's not that rare.
Survivors can't come back from a game where their teammate dies at 5 gens like 99% of the time. But killers can come back from getting their first hook at 2-3 gens because unless the looper is godly he probably used up a lot of resources if he took you through the whole map so subsequent chases will be much easier.

I do agree that i see nurses and blights have the mentality to turbo tunnel 1 person out at 5-4 gens. Which is silly since they are strong enough to play the game without tunneling.
I've played 8 matches today as survivor. I escaped 5 so far. I died in matches where i got tunneled by a nurse and 2 matches survivors left me to hook while NOED was active. They were only hiding at the doors without even looking for the totem.
I think escaping 5 matches is pretty damn good! I dont need to escape every match! That would be silly
(edit 9 matches now..got another 5 gen tunneling nurse..i died to first hook by choice)
I've even had a Nurse camping a Dwight who I remember was a newbie, but that was prior to this event. Just made me think how un-confident that killer must feel if they resort to camping with Nurse.
But yeah, Nurse and Blight can be sweatlords, although I gotta admit Blight is a bit more than Nurse players I've encountered (probably because he's not free, so people purchasing him do it consciously).
With Nurse you can sometimes get a bigger variety of players (newbies trying her out, people doing her dailies etc.) instead of only mains.
-
I got slugged yesterday after I was the only one alive, was 1 hook away from death and the killer even closed the hatch. Like what's the point of not hooking me?
Also had a game vs a Blight where 2 went DC at 5 gens ( i think it was a server problem cause they both went at the exact same time) and I was doing a gen almost done. He didn't even let me complete, as if there was any way I would escape.
I've also had some nice killers though. Just earlier a Michael Myers let me escape from exit gates (he got to the hatch as I was getting there).
But I've also had killers bring Moris or go for 3gen strategies.

Bit of an add question really. There aren't any survivor perks I 'enjoy' playing against as killer. Survivor perks either go unnoticed by the killer, or they're actively irritating, like Blast Mine and Boil Over. That doesn't mean the latter perks are 'bad' perks though. It's not really up to survivors to bring perks killers 'enjoy' anyway.
On the other side though, I enjoy seeing killers running 'healthy' perks, like Devour and Make Your Choice (actively prevents camping and tunnelling). Killer perks just have an overall greater impact on the game, and so as survivors, they become part of what you're playing against, instead of slight effects working in the background like most survivor perks.
Just asking because I see questions "What killer do you like to go against" more often than the opposite (which is nonsense anyway as survivors hardly play differently to each other), but perks do change the survivors' playstyle, so decided to go for a similar theme.
-
I think your core 3 are pretty good currently.
I guess if you're ok without your exhaustion perk you could try the new perk Made for This, I dunno how good it'll prove to be on average skilled survivors though.
If you like to do flashlight saves you could try substitute Lith for Background Player.
Some good value ones are Wiretap from Ada if you can afford her, or Reassure from Rebecca.
As you've also missed the other RE chapter, Flashbang and Blastimine from Leon and Jill are also very fun to play as survivor. Blastmine was better off though a few months ago when the gen-kicking meta for killers was around, as they would kick any generator, now not as much.
Healing perks are kinda meh at the moment, so I would not recommend you anything one as most killers run Sloppy Butcher or a similar add-on. (Self-care is atrocious) The only exception being Inner Healing. I dunno if you were around for the Stranger Things chapter, although now those perks are accessible for everyone to buy on the Bloodweb.
-
It has a tactical advantage. Basically if the killer has hooked someone who is on first stage, leaving would deprive them of their 4% chance or Deliverance if they have it. Other times it's to put pressure that survivors can go back into the map again and mess up whatever advantage the killer has at that point (say one or 2 people on hook), so killer has to personally push them out to avoid.
Sometimes survivors do it to be asses, other times it can to just say goodbye and have one last interaction with the killer. I just like to show them my Flashbang if I still have one and won't get to use it anymore.

But with 2 survivors dead, and more than 2 gens are remaining, any other outcome beside killer winning doesn't really makes sense, your opinion doesn't have reasoning as in why, like why are you getting mad when you see killers are trying to break a world record right after getting a gold medal? that seems pretty reasonable, and they still have to work for it.
If you seriously consider that extremely low chance occurrence as a "risk", just run detective's hunch and counterforce, you can easily take out every totems yourself.
I thought it was taboo to advice people to run a perk to deal with the game's inherent flaws.
So basically for every broken strategy that works against solo I have to run a specific perk or heck even a specific build to deal with it? Killer is 3-genning? Oh well should have brought a gen perk after all. Killer is slugging? Should have brought Unbreakable. Killer is camping? Should have brought Reassurance.
The flaws are in the game design itself. it's easy for killers to see that when it comes to SWF and scream about unfairness, but suddenly for all the unfairness SWF brings to the table for killers they're suddenly always quiet when it comes to solo survivor and use arguments that are the equivalent of "wait out dead hard" (which killers hated).
Just give us a ping system so we can co-ordinate and maybe not run perks that are useless 9/10 times. If you're ok with killers wanting to win by 4k then you should be able to understand the sentiment of survivors also wanting to 3 or 4 escape even as solos. Bringing incredibly niche perks isn't how you do it though, it's by bringing perks that will be useful 10/10 games not 1/10 games. I don't understand either what's so difficult to understand about that, you're ok with killers using BASEKIT strategies (excluding NOED obviously, but camping, slugging and tunneling are not hidden behind a perk) and your suggestion is basically "bring this perk that only works in this highly specific scenario". Uhh ok I guess I can see you are not biased at all.
-
Just give us a 5th perk slot that can be any aura reading perk, to account for the lack of communication. Then we could run 4 potentially useful perks and one for aura reading our teammates.

Why? NOED is a perk, period, I don't even care if NOED got removed anyway, it doesn't even turn "a loss into a win" because any decent (yes, decent, doesn't even need to be smart) survivors can easily cleanse NOED today.
And killers always do have the risk even if they go for "slug 4k", like it's not very uncommon to find someone who running unbreakable and gets up RIGHT AFTER THE KILLER HOOKED A SURVIVOR, so they can have a hatch, it's survivors who decided to end the game by not taking proper counter perks.
And yes, they still have an increased risk for throwing wins because more time takes for 2 survivors left = less time it takes to finish up gens, it's very much possible to just finish up a gen and get to the gate, with 2 survivors, especially with perks like hope/MFT or adrenaline.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462129#Comment_3462129
I didn't know you can't find a totem that is broadcasting an aura of himself by 24meter radius, I suppose you knew it's existence right?
A survivor getting hatch doesn't mean the killer lost or even tied with the survivors. The risk of slugging for the 4k should be the killer ending up with 2 kills, not with what is essentially considered a win. It's like complaining you got a gold medal but didn't break a world record.
You also know the killer can just hook the survivor and slug people close to his NOED right? And protect both the totem and his hook/slug(s).

We have two counters to NOED today.
A. if you have lot of times because killer is so bad, just cleanse all totems.
B. if you don't have lot of times or failed to cleanse all totem for some reason, run like a headless chicken after 5 gens popped and you will find it unless you are legally blind and can't see aura.
It definitely doesn't really matter whether you are solo or not, especially latter one.
I didn't know I was playing all 4 survivors at once, but thanks for letting me know.

"Just hook it and go afk" vs "down it, find the last survivor, chase him, down him, hook him, and hook original survivor you've downed seconds (or minutes) ago"?
Yeah of course, it is a lot of additional effort, it doesn't really matter whether game handed it to you or not, but even then for most of time you don't even need 4 minutes, it'll end quicker.
Why game has to hand free escape for already losing side? when that mess with lot of game mechanics? your reasoning seems to be nonexistent.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3462001#Comment_3462001
Ah so you are saying hatches should be a perk? I actually agree with it, I wish lot of survivors to play with 3 perks.
Why does NOED exist then? You already lost the game if you made it to end game with no deaths and survivors finished all 5 gens. Heck, don't even try just afk in a corner in that case, you were losing all game, why should you have the chance to turn a loss into a win? Don't start arguing over good survivors etc. That's bullshit. Just explain to me why a perk to undo your mistakes exists. I thought we hated second chance perks for the same reason.
Just like survivors have to play perfectly till the end, killers should have the same risk. Either secure the 3k and be happy with your win even if one escapes, or risk it all for the 4k and actually have a risk to make out with only 2k. What's so hard to understand about that? Survivors hear all the time the game doesn't end when all 5 gens are done, why should the game end when 2 survivors are left?
Killers who take too long to close out the game should have increased risk of throwing their win. Slugging for the 4k should not be a low risk high reward strategy. It should have more risk involved to it.

I only play SoloQ and unless my team royally screwed up, the killer doesn’t get more than 1 down with NoED.
If your team fails against NoED, it’s not a problem with NoED, the killer or the game, it’s a problem with you and your teammates, regardless of whether it’s Solo Queue or SwF.
git gud.
That's like saying "I am not racist cause I have black friends" and then proceeding to say a racist thing anyway.
First you claim the way to counter NOED is for your whole team to cleanse the totems, which requires co-ordination that solo doesn't have. Then you tell me to "git gud" when the game's matchmaking is ######### and survivors of hugely different skill levels are matched.
That's again a great argument there. Can't even admit that certain strategies are strompers for solo just gotta say "git gud". Kinda sad killers couldn't wait out dead hard like the good ones.

Some ppl are really out here telling me that a camping bubba isn't uncounterable and that it's totally possible to get a 4 out against one. So please, show me a video of this happening, without any perks or items being necessary from the survivor side. And also preferably without the bubba being absolutely garbage at the game but we'll cross that bridge when we get there
Oh let me add, for the record I've gotten one myself with deliverance! But I'm asking without perks or addons, so try again x
If they're telling you that they're lying or they mean under certain conditions (playing in a SWF, bringing Reassurance/Deliverance etc.)
Camping Bubba is definitely a problem for solo survivor, because if they're not co-ordinated to rush gens, the game can go south. I've had too many games where we can get 3 out and someone ######### up our chances wanted to be the hero and going for the rescue and when we haven't even finished all our gens.

If the killer was bad, y’all should have no problem looping him long enough to do the gens and 5 totems, especially since they’re only playing most of the match with 3 perks.
Even if you’re too lazy to cleanse them, you can wait for the 5th gen to pop and it’ll light up like a disco ball making it easy to spot.
Yeah, I'm sure if I played in a SWF no totems would make it to end game, but as it is I am not and I cannot control my teammates. Try harder next time with your answer, thx.

I think the only reason it does is because if by some crazy chance all 4 survivors are running no mither and face an Oni, he will have access to his power. They arent going to make it possible for a killer to have 0 power
Doesn't SWF also nullify Legion's power, or people running behind Ghostface/Hag/Trapper and revealing him/disarming their traps? Like Oni's power is supposed to skip a health state, but with No Mither you only have 1 health state instead of two.

I don't know what you people expect from those greedy companies nowadays. Their only method is amap= as much as possible, in this case cash they can milk you for.
And even better many sheep will still buy it and encourage them to do it again and again.
I was gonna buy Zarina's anyway tbh. I mean buying something cause it'll leave is stupid ngl. But they mostly capitalize on nostalgia and fandoms anyway (Halloween, Stranger Things, AoT).

It should have been 50%. I hope they make it 50% on the last week or something.

Time to take it for a spin.

SB, Blast Mine, Flashbang, Residual Manifest. Obviously it's the most fun build, although I am really bad at using Flashlights cause I am on controller and Flashbangs seem to need different timing than Flashlights (you need to know when killer is about to pick up and be able to make the distance for the timing). But hey it's fun, I just need to get better at it.
Wish I had one more perk slot for an aura reading perk to use Bond, with it since it pairs quite well.

Wesker is much more fun to play against than Trapper or any other M1 killer. At least he can make mistakes and it's not so clear cut as an M1 killer Bloodlusting you to death (except those Wesker who play him more akin to M1, I hate you guys)
