I'd rather have survivors doing gens than survivors who aren't doing gens and immersing inside a bush.
-
You can't sabo through a hit. If the killer's hit connects it will interrupt the sabo.
-
Asymmetrical doesn't mean you are fighting some kind of grand endgame OP boss.
Friday the 13th is Asymmetrical and yet you can still fight Jason with weapons, as a 1v1.
Last Year is Asymmetrical and yet again, doesn't always rely on 4 ganging up on 1.
Asymmetrical simply means there are 2 sides that do not match. One side kills the other survives. There is no "power role". You have different options that provide different advantages and disadvantages in a match.
-
I would say be happy with what you have because you can’t force someone to like something they are just not into.
If everyone liked the same thing we’d be seeing one killer being played by everyone. So it makes sense for someone who isn’t exactly happy with who they picked to talk about other possibilities. I don’t understand how this affects you. If you don’t want read their post simply skip.

Not to say you're wrong but you probably haven't made to Rank 1 just by playing only against Legion.😀 Different killers require different approach.
I’d say different players require a different approach, because not every player (no matter the rank) plays Legion the same.
There are Legions that love to use Frenzy and ones that do not use it as much. In which case you CAN heal. I don’t think there is a set rule either way, but if you are going to always be in his vicinity and they happen to use frenzy a lot, you’re wasting time.

@Johnny_XMan Why does it make sense to pull somebody off hook with the killer nearby, and not expect the killer to go after the weak link? I don't understand why it must always be the fault of the killer for capitalizing on survivor mistakes.
I understand what the OP was speaking about, i did agree with him in my first post. There are hardcore tunnelers that will go out of their way to tunnel somebody out of a match, I don't deny that. But at the same time, I also acknowledge that a good portion of cases where survivors scream 'tunneling,' it's either on them (running back into the killer, for instance), or their team, for taking them off hook when the killer is right there.
Specifically forcing a survivor to come out of hiding and unhook is not capitalizing on a mistake. It is abusing a mechanic that gives you a free down.
I just do not understand how we go from reading about how a killer tunnels off hook ON PURPOSE, to "it was the survivor's fault". It's not always the survivors' fault, sometimes the killer is just bad and they rely heavily on (again) a luxury mechanic. The killer doesn't have to see a survivor unhooking, they see the icon at the bottom that reads "no longer on a hook"... "welp time to go back". That's what the OP is talking about.
-
@Rivyn said:
I can argue the opposite. It's not the killers fault, it's the survivors who unhooked. If the killer is close enough to even catch you straight off the hook, than the blame should be placed on the survivor who did the rescuing, especially without BT. They basically farmed you for points. Can you really blame the killer if you're pulled off hook in their face, and the rescuer doesn't at least take a protection hit, instead sprinting to the nearest pallet?
Now, I'm not saying hardcore tunneling doesn't exist, and is a pretty unfair playstyle around it. I understand in a lot of cases killers will tunnel, simply for the sake of doing it. But on the other hand, I feel at least part of the blame comes down to survivors not knowing when or how to safely rescue somebody.
How does Tunneling off hook translate to “survivors were being altruistic”?
Many times killers camp or proxy camp... waiting. How on the heck are survivors suppose to force the killer to move from that position? At that point there is no alternative.
What the OP described isn’t even what you are trying to argue. Everyone knows different scenarios exist and to only see one single scenario to back up your argument is simply narrow minded.
-
I think it’s very hard to give you proper advice when you have basically listed things that many of us who have experience are not seeing.
I’m not saying more experience will gain you 4ks all the time but if you understand how the game works and not just what perks do. You’ll see it’s not as bad as you think.
Survivors that know what they are doing will always juke you even if they don’t have “meta perks”. Unless you understand how to avoid it. Yesterday I had a couple of people relentlessly trying to get a flashlight save (and granted they were good, I also play survivor) so they got 1, but I made sure they were both injured so then I went for one of them instead, ended up snowballing after I slugged the recently unhooked b/c I had a feeling they had DS so come to find out they had unbreakable. Mind you in the meantime 1 person on gens.
Basically what I am trying to say is you can’t rely on them not having certain perks. You have to rely on outplaying them and figuring out a plan. The game isn’t cookie cutter down-hook-down. Sometimes it’s more like down-injure someone else-hook-down-down-slug etc.
-
I would rather the Legendary skins for original survivors be something that ties directly to their lore.
Meg’s mom for the example. A single mom who has to raise Meg on her own. She falls ill and now Meg has to take care of her.
I’m a Meg main and after seeing how many bad costumes she has had lately, that’s the only reason I’d be oppose to OPs idea.

@Ihateyou said:
Nobody mentioning how long his trail stays for, it's WAYYY to long. Imagine this on a map like hawkins that only has one safe pallet to begin with. It's not going to be fun.
These forums have a rep of bringing up only specific scenarios that apply as reasoning for why something is "fair/not fair".
I'll give you an example. You ever wonder why the same people who complained about strong structures NEVER complained about how many dead/open areas there are? Where you are basically forced to play ring around the rosie until you will eventually go down? Because they only see things from one perspective.
Same thing here. Getting tormented is a lot easier than OP makes it sound. You can avoid it in some situations, but if you look at the bigger picture... loops aren't set up to do that. I'm not saying every loop has to be set up that way, but with the map changes recently they seem to want small/unsafe loops. Making me believe they want you to be tormented more than not... simply because it only assures that this killer will use his cages. So they want to give it to him rather than make him earn it.
-
The best way to deal with these type of "solo queue" survivors is to ignore and move on tbh.
One thing I've learned in the past (close to 4,000 hours now) is that no matter how logical what you say may sound, to them it is not enough and they want to be right. They don't care about logistics or what you may have done that carried the match. I'm glad you got out because I think from the sounds of it you did the best you could with what you had to work with.
-
This is why I always will die for a baby Dweet.
-
@McLightning said:
If that was truly what survivors wanted, why are they always crying for nerfs, and crying when one of their OP perks gets nerfed? Why was there hysteria when people realized triangleface countered DS and BT?
Survivors don't want to face good killers. They want to FEEL like they are facing good killers, so when they win, they feel like they accomplished something.
Because broken doesn't mean countered.
Crying exists on BOTH sides, if not, then are we to assume killers are the only ones asking for fair nerfs all the time? This is exactly what people mean when they say that statements like these are "biased". You are unable to separate legitimate constructive feedback vs those who simply complaining without anything substancial to back it up.
Survivors DO want strong killers, but strong again doesn't mean Broken. I'll gladly die if it means that I had at least a chance at playing the game. I don't have to win every single match.
So to reiterate not everyone who is complaining about DS and BT not working against the cage mechanic of the Executioner is saying he needs to be "nerfed", but there has to be legitimate counter (option) because they can simply camp and tunnel off the hook without there really being anything anyone can do about it. That's it.
There has to be a fine line. You can't just introduce a broken mechanic and be OK with it, because that's not the definition of being GOOD. Being good is about taking the time to properly learn a character or their perks and out-playing the opposing side. A mechanic that is a luxury being abused doesn't require skill.

It's from SH3, one of the many unlockable costumes It was a VERY anime cutscene as she used it too. I REALLY hope they add it into the game. I loved Heather in that outfit, it was always one of my favourites.
I'd also love to see Dark Alyssa (The boss from SH3 at the Theme Park) as a possible skin.

When people like you will realize that LORE is nothing but a small non-important part of this game which developers have no interest at. If people like you want some LORE in the videogame where you do gens while killer is trying to kill you, maybe try some other game?
I'm sorry to be the one to tell you but there is this feature called "Archives" where you can read about the background on specific characters and their LORE.
Clearly I'm not looking for story time. It's DbD but I have read Claudette's LORE and I wouldn't necessarily picture her wearing that. I'm sorry if you don't understand that. It's just an opinion.

@EmpireWinner said:
I was surprised that skin won, it doesn't fit claudette's personality at all.
Would rather prefer a lab coat cosmetic than that.
Same. They definitely threw their own lore out the window “Claudette is not the outgoing type” .... and yet she look like she ready to hit the streets.
They should have gone more science urban and not thot urban.
-
5 hours?
I would have dc’d. #notsorry

My thoughts on both is “Meh”.
Claudette’s g string seems very raunchy and I agree with others that it doesn’t fit her personality.

Sure, but the point is that medikits and healing perks are useless against her. Much more so than hook-related perks can be useless against the Exe. (I was referring to her Vile Purge, not Corrupt Purge)
You are comparing Oranges to Apples.
Medkits and healing perks can still do something if Plague decides to use her Corrupt Purge.
Any Hook-related perks (BT, DS, We'll Make it etc) do not work on the new killer's cage mechanic. Which is far worse when you look at the array of perks that are based purely on hooks. Much worse if the killer decides to take advantage of two things that every killer has access to: Camping and Tunneling.

I'm not sure what you mean?
If you are sick, you don't need a medkit or someone to heal you. You can cleanse and insta heal.
Even with her corrupt purge there is still some counter to her. You can camp a pallet and stun her to take away her ability.

His power can kill some builds, but I don't think it's so bad. Unlike, for example, Miss "**** Your Healing" Plague, Survivors can at least attempt to avoid his power if they want to keep access to certain perks.
Cleanse.
You get an insta heal and you can still dodge her corrupt purge and even take it from her by stunning her.
His cage renders perks useless.
-
COULD WORK.
Omg could be some type of Mastermind killer with minions doing some of his bidding. Like slowing down gens and as a survivor you have to use ghost traps to get rid of them.
They don’t necessarily injury you but hinder your objective. 😮
-
From my experience survivors mostly spawn in the areas where gens are blocked. So I swing by there first... while also checking to make sure none of the others have started (when I can).

I think you are confusing genuine disappointment with people who just spew hate for the sake of having nothing else to do.
I for one love Silent Hill, but I would be lying if I said I would have been just as excited if it had been Candyman. I'm certainly not going to call the devs out about it, but I can still be displeased by it.
For the record, expressing disappointment if done the right way can also be considered a good thing. It let's the devs know that not everyone is a fan and maybe look at what that group wants. I feel like the game is made for the fans anyway, so why wouldn't they expect some disappointment?
-
I would rather them be found in chests than bring brought in.
-
Because if you love a game you are allowed to get excited regardless of what hiccups it may bring.
Bugs will exist whether new chapters are released or not.
-
I think you guys are thinking too deep into it.
New players (if they play other games) understand that there is going to be a learning curve. This game unlike other Asymetrical games is mainly about LOOPING and IMMERSING. It takes a bit to understand that because in the beginning it is much easier to want to hide.
The reason I even say that is because even in Red Ranks players still don't understand that. I've seen players from 1k-3k hours doing far less better than the ones at 100 hours. I'm not saying that matchmaking doesn't have it's problems, but I don't think its going to affect a new player if the killer/survivor is already bad to begin with... regardless of their rank.
-
I think part of the problem with this community is the narrative they try to create and the dev's understanding of it.
Why do I say this?
Because as an example, I keep seeing and even saw it mentioned as a question n the latest dev Q&A's stream if Camping or Face Camping should be bannable. When in fact while yes some people want that I am sure, there are multiple people asking for a Change to that mechanic in the game, not outright Removing or Punishing it. The person getting camped SHOULD have a decent amount of points if they are going to play the role of the "bait". Nobody that has to play that role expected to be camped to the point that they were basically not playing the game.
That's just one example. We don't need to enter other discussions about how the devs feel about camping itself because if you play killer you already know it is at your disposal 24/7 and well within the game's rules. No one is questioning that portion.
I play both sides and understand enough perks (doesn't mean I am perfect) to KNOW that if someone is hooked and camped from stage 1-2 + the time it took the survivor to figure out that the killer was straight up camping + the perks and add ons that slow down the gens does not give enough time for survivors to finish ALL gens. Not in the "punishing" way that many want to make it sound. Heck, you have people saying "Rush Gens and Punish" and then those same individuals complain that "Gens go by too fast"... which one is it? Again. Narrative.
Even after all this I don't believe Camping is "Toxic" or other in-game features... but that doesn't mean that I think it is deserving that someone who waiting 15+ mins in queue, just to go into a game where they get hooked and get camped is a fun experience. Especially when there aren't points involved.
-
Obviously not everything would work. Wall crawling being one of those things.
I think that there is enough in his arsenal to allow him to be a part of the DbD roster. Demogorgon already feels a little bit like him in the movement department.
I would be excited if the hooks worked like this:
The hook would look something like this...
The survivor hooked would be cocooned to the hook. Allow the Xenomorph to lay eggs around the hook, so that survivors have to walk in order to make a safe unhook (Similar to Hag traps) or else the they are attacked by a facehugger that starts by chocking the victim by their neck (Similar to mend time), and if not pulled away in time the facehugger attaches itself and the survivor HAS to find a location to remove it.
There are so many ways they could go with this.
-
I don't have a problem with Oni's power, but I do think it becomes broken when the devs have obviously updated maps to have MORE DEAD ZONES. Which means that there is literally nowhere to go.
-
Would be cool if it was real!!!!

His stealth is obviously broken. I just played against a GF and stared at him while his full body was exposed and nothing happened.

That would be kind of ... AMAZING actually.
If done right. 😄

Honestly at this point if it’s Candyman I wouldn’t be as excited as someone like Xenomorph.... but that could change if they actually make him fun.
For me personally, his powers simply don’t register for me as something that could translate into the game as impressive. That’s just me though.

I can’t help but to not take this thread serious.

I had a match a bit ago where I got a 4k, as counter intuitive as it sounds, I just tunneled the one who had BT on. I think it rattled the others so hard they all tried to get super altruistic and kept running at me as huntress.
Sometimes playing against the Meta can mind game them into killing themselves. I like it. Gives players options.
Of course I know if they'd of just done Gens they'd of gotten out.
I like the way you think.
Most killers would just complain about the perk and not necessarily get rid of it lol
-
I am confused.
Adrenaline activated when all the generators are finished not when the Exit Gates open.
If the hatch is closed and you have adrenaline, and you happen to be the obsession, I’m pretty sure rancor still activates?
-
Unlike Huntress who can hold her hatchet, he can’t hold his shot. So the best thing you can do is not run on a straight line or remain stationary.
Find LoS and throw a pallet down earlier.
-
While I agree that camping isn’t punishable and shouldn’t be.
Im just gonna say this.
The camping continues you will never see anyone join a lobby without BT. Why? Because outside of that you would just be trading hooks. Cuz even with BT you are still trading hooks sometimes.
So no, leave camping as it is, but stop complaining when survivors have to keep bringing meta perks.

That's so unfair though, Jason, Freddy etc are ICONIC.
Candyman was from the 90's where the Horror Genre was dying out so not many people know know about him but he still had a following.
Comparing him to Jason, Freddy etc is just unfair. It's like comparing the Babadook to Freddy.
I mean no disrespect, but how exactly was the horror genre dying out?
We had two of the greatest horror films come out early 90s. IT (1990) and Silence of the lambs (1991). Not to mention Scream being a staple of the 90s horror later down the road.
Like I said, I don't deny that Candyman has his fans. I just personally don't find him or his powers iconic. It's ok to have different opinions.
-
They don’t. Would you have empathy towards something trying to kill you? I don’t think so.
-
The only reason I will agree with this is because on maps like The Game is does the opposite of blending, it stands out against the concrete floor. Lol
Otherwise I think the add on is ok.
-
DS is a god perk that apparently gives you invincibility meaning the killer will M1 you over and over but until those 60 seconds are up you will not go down.
/s
-
I don’t deny that there are Candyman fans, but I personally wouldn’t go as far as calling him “iconic”.
To me Iconic is someone like Jason, Freddy, Michael, Chucky, Leatherface, Ghostface.
