Huntress Hatchets take 3 seconds to fully charge and have approximately 1 second worth of Cool Down. Usually you need to fully charge your hatchets so the Survivors can't easily dodge them.
Trickster with this new buff can down someone in less than 4.5 seconds. Trickster will also have lost less distance on the Survivor in this time than Huntress will have.
That's why.
If the terrain permits, Trickster is insanely more lethal than Huntress. Does this make Trickster better than her? No because she can handle a much larger variety of tiles than he can. Essentially the difference between Trickster and Huntress will be similar to the difference between Bubba and Hillbilly. One's more flexible, one's much more lethal in the right situation.
You pretty much summed up my feelings/opinion.
Even if the survivor is healthy Huntress I feel would have a harder time getting a down, simply because of her charge.
The entire point I was trying to make was their relating to their aim anyway, not really who can down who the fastest. But as you said in open areas, I do agree Trickster can be more lethal, because you are dealing with a much bigger threat than a hatchet hitbox. Especially if they have Main Event available.
-
For me he is balanced with his new buff except his extended lunge when uncloaking.
From playing him after his buff, it is the one thing I feel could be reduced or be looked at.
-
Understandably, you have some matches where you feel helpless due to various RNG reasons, but to say killer is hard? I don't agree with that.

There are different kinds of aim.
Trickster demands some flick aim, and a LOT of track aim.
Huntress demands a bit more flick aim, and almost no track aim.
Flick aim is how fast and accurately you can bring your aim from one point to another. Track aim is how well you can maintain your cursor on a moving target. Thing firing a single high bullet vs firing a low damage laser beam.
*In general* weapons that demand high flick aim are mechanically favored because they dump all their value out in a single moment and while it takes a lot of practice to get good at them, once you are its a lot less demanding than track aim. Track aim tends to be 'easier' at first because if you make a mistake on 1 of 100 hitscan moments on your laser beam well... you only lose 1% of your damage output vs 100% on missing the initial flick, but once you get good at flicks you lose 0% of your damage, while its hard to not lose 100% on track aim stuff (Especially if deviation, recoil, cone of fire, ect is bad on the track gun), because your target will move and wiggle and duck into cover. Your also devoting more time to trying to get that kill and are committing harder to it: Once huntress tosses that hatchet she doesn't need to do anything, she can assume it hits or misses and start on her next task, while Trickster trying to land their 8 (now 6) knives has to commit to that process to get value out of it.
So in one sense, huntress needs 'more' aim because flick aim takes more practice and is less forgiving. In another, Trickster both requires some flick aim too (You want that initial knife to hit before the target rounds the corner, don't you?) but ALSO requires you to keep aiming over and over, thus requiring 'more aim.' Which is a really core problem with him.
I can agree with your points on the 'flick' but what about in an open area? (where there is no LoS to counter a hatchet or a knife) where a lot of chases against both will ultimately take place. Trickster doesn't really need to aim, where as Huntress does. That has been the difference in my experience with both.
Trickster feels more casual about his aim than Huntress does.
-
Aim?
Don't you have to aim more with Huntress than Trickster?
-
I think people not liking to play against the Twins is beside the point.
This is ridiculous that they think there aren't players who are going to notice these nerfs.

I don't see that lol

Chris doesn't look bad in-game IMO.

I was hoping that we would (at the very least) have the original 4 character remodels released. It just made sense you know since the game has been out.
This event is missing a soul. Like not even the lobby is decorated... I was expecting too much I think. Pains me to say, because I love the game but this just feels very underwhelming.

So basically just another day on DBD right?

That I was gonna say everyone is bi, which I wasn't, and that I'm in denial that they'd ever introduce a character that's LGBT lol I just prefer things being neutral and characters being open to interpretation. Just like that one dude thinks everyone is hetero, some other person might think they're all gay. That's the fun of keeping things ambiguous.
I think it's perfectly fine to want to leave characters open for interpretation in terms of their sexual orientation. With that said, there is also room to have characters who we are well aware they are open about it. IMO that is what BHVR is aiming to do.
People just get their panties in a bunch whenever they think of an openly gay character in a video game that they will never have to play as nor care about. Since you know, we only have like 27 characters they can choose from.

Never... said... they... did... If a game is fun or any particular character is fun I'll play them. I'm also into lore and character development. I just want that to happen naturally without game devs feeling like someone is screaming at them to do it all the time.
You said you aren't looking for deeper meanings in video games. Unless I am mistaken, I took that as you aren't into lore/stories/character development, because those are the aspects where people who are looking for more than just a 3D character model seek to explore.
IMO Devs haven't given any indication that they are going to rush into creating something just for the sake of creating it. So at this point I stay positive that they will bring a great gay character with awesome cosmetics and an awesome storyline.

I'm not looking for deeper meanings in video games. I'm looking for reckless fun, cool characters and shiny loot to have my reckless fun with.
I don't see how the inclusion of a gay character takes away from any of that. You can still find those in the game.
This is for those who are into lore, are into character development things that are just as part of a video game as those things you've listed.

So no, you are not in favor of adding LGBT characters if they happen to fit a certain stereotype, even though some real-life LGBT people do fit certain stereotypes, which is what @Johnny_XMan has been saying. And then you told @Johnny_XMan that they shouldn't only want representation for LGBT people who think like they do, which is what you're doing.
Just for the record, I don't think the first character should be stereotypical either (though I'm sure bad faith actors will pretend they are in order to stir up controversy). I like accuracy, however.
I was just getting ready to type this, but you beat me to it. 😂

I'm in favor of having LGBT characters, as long as they don't look stereotypical/token, because that does more harm than actual inclusion, because it gives the message that to be LGBT you have to look a different way.
You do realize how that sounds like you want certain traits look-wise to disappear simply because they happen to be the gay character right?
Which is why I was calling you out in the first place, when I asked if you preferred a closeted gay person instead. Because it sounds to me like you have a problem with gay characters wearing colorful cosmetics virtually. Even though there are many characters who one could already "stereotype" based on the way they look in-game.

It's funny how none of these "homophobes" and "transphobes" are the ones attacking LGBT people in this thread, yet the ones who claim they want representation are the ones who are reply to me in a passive aggressive and condescending way, someone who is LGBT, for having a different opinion and not wanting a stereotypical character.
Makes you think.
You know what I think it's
funnysad? When you claim you are part of the group asking for more representation, but only as long as it's with "less visibility".I never once used those two terms to address you, nor to "attack" you. I am simply baffled that you are so quick to pull out your LGBTQI+ card, all when I was trying to explain my use of the word "colorful" because you took it out of context in my original response.
Keep making claims that I am calling you names though. I am sure eventually it'll stick.

Nothing passive aggressive about me. I gave you a direct answer.
I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Yes, me as someone who is trans and bi, i'm totally have a problem. Dont try to put me into the "homophobe" category just because I don't happen to agree with you on LGBT not being a visible thing, because making it visible leads to stereotypes
"Dont try to put me into the "homophobe" category just because I don't happen to agree with you on LGBT not being a visible thing"
I think you did that for yourself dear.
I never called you a homophobe. I am simply correcting you by explaining why the word "colorful" was used. I specifically said where the story FITS. Let me give you an example.
Let's say you have a gay character who since they were a child loved to play dress up. In fact so much that as they reach their teens, they start auditioning for their local musical theater because it has long been a dream of theirs to be a part of that world. They often dress in colorful attire due to their love for theater and costumes. I think it is safe to say that it is a personal fashion choice and something they grew up with. Not because they are a gay person. Yes not every gay dresses the same way, Speaks the same way, but sometimes it has nothing to do with them trying to fit into a mold, it is simply who they are. If someone feels comfortable wearing a tutu skirt and they happen to be a guy, so what? Why (above all people) does it bother YOU?
Because you on the other hand think its ok to hide their way of expressing themselves, due to someone else's insecurities and calling it a stereotype. It sounds to me like when I was in school and I would get told "Don't wear that because you are a boy not a girl". Sorry, but your fear of stereotype isn't my problem anymore.
-
I would like him in the roster, the only request I would have is that they make him different from Trapper, not like he is a better version of him.
They could do this via focusing on his other weapons like knives/machete and he could be a bit more stealthy.
-
@Marigoria said:

LGBT = Colorful? See that's a stereotype right there.
Not really. You clearly took my response out of context to fit your stereotype comment. I said should the story FIT. I wear colorful clothes because I like them and I happen to be gay. Not because I want to be a stereotype.
Do you have a problem with people wearing colorful clothing? Or just gay people?
Like, I don't understand what you are asking for... a closeted gay person?

You missed the part where vocal supporters of the representation cause act hostile, ignorant and entitled towards everyone who doesn´t kiss their feet, even attacking those who support them.
Which is why it is good when vocal supporters can defend themselves or as you call it "the cause" with intelligent thoughts and ideas.
Ignorance does not win against ignorance.

Someone being lgbt a lot of times isn't visible.
And you mentioned because straight people make their personality about their sexuality (even though being in a relationship is not really the same), there is a really bad stigma about LGBT characters being made in a way that all that there's about them is the fact that they're lgbt (a really good a recent example is q-force).
I think instead of making a character that the whole focus is their gender/sexuality, it should be mentioned in a lore like it's just that, a lore part. Like they did with david having a girlfriend or whatever.
A lot of times it isn't visible because it isn't accepted. Like in the real world.
I don't care in what manner they decide to bring a LGBTQI+ character, as long as A) they look good (because I am a sucker for good cosmetics) B) they have an awesome storyline. To me it sounds like you want them to 'touch' on their sexuality, whereas someone like me wants them to be out and without a care in the world, because they feel free to be themselves.
If that means the character wants to wear colorful clothes (as an example) because it fits their story. Then so be it.
-
Because developers can’t figure out a way to balance it, so they put a bandaid fix by making a perk which can still be countered by letting you bleed out.
Literally any other development team would at least recognize that there should be something built-in for survivors should they encounter a killer who only chases one survivor and most importantly right after an unhook.
-
@MyNamePete said:
I'm surprised ive never seen this before. I've lagged back into a wall many times but nothing like this lol.
And god why do i see this becoming an actual perk.
The whole match was weird. When he would down me it sounded like he was breaking a pallet. Like I know Chris looks beefy but for him to sound like wood is going too far.
-
Just get better at killer and give it back to them.
-
You are not buffing solos by giving them ability to communicate because communication isn’t the issue. You can bring kindred now and solo survivors still with that amount of information will leave you to reach stage 2 or die or both because they aren’t capable of using common sense in scenarios where that is what shines. Not comms.
I’m not saying this happens in every single match, but for the most part 95% of my matches has survivors not working on objectives or dying in two seconds to the point where one cannot even start a gen. It is way too common but something that IMO no amount of communication will fix.

Not really. Which is why many opt to play with friends. Because even if they didn’t have comms they would be reliable.

I think a pride charity pack would be cool. I don’t know if they do those sort of packs anymore though.
For the most part, I definitely felt that pride has a presence within the game. As a gay man myself, getting to wear the charm with pride and seeing how involved BHVR has been in other social media has been very refreshing and I am thankful for their commitment to being an ally.

You know what would be cool? A mori’d survivor replacing one of his 2 zombies!

My problem with genrushing is that its too hard to define. You can say its doing gens fast. How fast? Maybe its fast because you failed to keep up pressure? Maybe they were more skilled than you because you got bad roll with matchmaking? Maybe you overcommited to chases?
Now, i consider genrushing only if all survivor team has builds geared towards gen repair. Otherwise, its probably killer just failing to do their job and blaming survivor. I mean, cmon, what are they supposed to do? Watch grass grow?
You can still gen rush even if the killer is applying pressure. You can bring BNPs, Prove Thyself, let teammates go to stage 2 to prioritize gens, not heal even tho you can’t run the killer but the gens are a priority. Those (to me) are considered actions taken in order to gen rush. Anything else I don’t consider gen rushing.
-
Hmm
-
For me, they are not the same. They achieve similar results but they are not executed under the same conditions.
Gen rushing requires items/perks in order to even be considered “gen rushing” … while Tunneling is basically just the killer’s behavior and whether they choose to target the one person, making it available in every single match. That is its only condition.

In fact, I would encourage everyone to make one. I heard it pleases the entity and she is definitely starved for Non-quitting threads at this point. ☺️

you don't need data when balance changes and basic knowledge of how the game works make it very obvious that the game is balanced around lower skill players
you want proof? See the changes to Ruin a few years back, the changes to Hillbilly a few years back, the changes to Nurse a few years back, etc
I play killer 50% of my time in DBD. And I hardly if ever use Spirit, and I have no desire to play Nurse, and I do not own Freddy. I do just fine in most of my matches against SWF. Do I get a 4K every time? No. But I certainly don’t do much more different than competent solo survivors. Which brings me to believe that it isn’t as big of a deal as some on here would like to believe it is.
My point is that you can have your own opinion, but when you start to parade a specific statement like “they balance around low rank solo survivors” you better have the data to back it up. Or else it’s just an opinion.
-
Pressure them where it hurts the most: Altruism.
Many times you will know they are SWF because they unhook immediately as you turn your back. So once I know this, I will punish it by pretending to leave once I spot the savior going for the hook, I will chase them, forcing someone else to go unhook and leave their gen.
I have found that many times you also have to think like you normally would if you were in a SWF situation. So for instance if they want to body block because someone is on death hook, a good perk to bring is STBFL or Forced Penance this will make them more cautious of tanking hits because they will not be able to heal for a certain amount of time.
Overall I play like normal, but I normally choose a casual pace though if I am unlucky and have a very bad map, my pace will change. Notice I said my pace not theirs, because one of the mistakes I see people make is that they want to feel bad about their party, when they aren’t going to feel bad for you, because they want to win too.

You don't even need data, just looking at some of the balance changes over the years paints a pretty obvious picture
also, that line about all killers being good against SWF is just straight up false, a good SWF will beat every killer that isn't Nurse, Spirit or Blight pretty much every time
So I am guessing all those Trappers, Pigs, Onis, Wraiths that can face SWF mean nothing? They just lucked out on their wins, no skill was present. Ever. Gotcha.

I agree with you.
I mean I play survivor and I don’t agree with what OP is suggesting.
There is already a cool down that is fine as is. You know what is kind of weird tho? The fact that you get a sprint burst for simply being infected. Makes no sense.

People wouldn't complain about SWF, if the game was balanced around it.
Instead of being balanced around low rank solo survivors.
Where is the data that shows that the game is balanced around low rank solo survivors? I often hear this so I am genuinely intrigued.
The game isn't balanced around low rank solo survivors, because if it was playing killer would be a lot harder than it is now.
Killers don't need to be balanced around SWF because they already do well against SWF.

But it should be.
It seems like a solid chunk of resources and time goes into fixing frivolous things like this while larger more concerning issues like abysmal performance on all platforms seemingly get put on the back burner and forgotten.
I don't think you understand what she means when she says "priority". She isn't saying that some issues don't take priority over others, but that cosmetics being fixed have nothing to do with any order of priority when the teams working on cosmetic fixes aren't even the ones who work on balance/bug fixes. That's what I take as "This isn't about priority" because it really isn't.
-
I’ve never seen the fog whisperer program as a ‘feedback program’, but more of a community group.
In fact when I’ve seen other games whitelisting individuals but it is normally very obvious that that is what they are there for, usually they are also very good at the game.
Personally I would rather streamers not get that sort privilege to just say whatever they want and the devs making decisions based on that because to me many of them aren’t even paying attention to their own matches.
-
Only thing I need they need to change is the speed boost survivors get from when they initially get infected. Doesn't make any sense.
-
Wanna know why people complain?
Not because the strategy exists, but because it can be easily abused. New people literally would have to be forced to buy Laurie just to have a chance.
Also, they could afford to give survivors more options outside of perks. Which is what many want.
