  • Who cares?

The game isn't going to suffer from one streamer leaving. At this point there are more DBD streamers than there aren't.

  • You can't but it's a step in the right direction.

They need to also look into the ability to Camp and Tunnel target 1 single survivor for it to actually make a difference.

  • Yeah, I don't understand why Toy Sword got nerfed, like out of all things to nerf, they choose that? lol

Poor Victor is already punished enough, because even a successful pounce has the same punishment (5 seconds) as missing a pounce. Which is an odd design choice.

  • The masks being taken away won't stop people from targeting those groups. I am glad this will ease some of the issue, and I am sympathetic to those people who have had to deal with that BS, especially because we are in the year 2022.

However, BHVR needs to implement a better report system because you can't assume someone is doing it for those specific reasons based on what they wear. Taking a "tool" away when you can easily camp and tunnel out the targeted person, is still just as bad. I don't think anyone will feel any less targeted simply because the killer isn't wearing that mask when they are told they are being tunneled because of the color of their skin on their character.

  • @Vyne456 said:

I think the reason why you get camped because your bad at the game and your just not good enough to play this game. Why is everybody stereotyping bubba though.

    Stereotyping?

You can think whatever you want about camping but Bubbas are known to camp more than any other killer. This is fact.

  • Who is Gus? o.O

and yes Dweet and Claudette. I hate how they sound when they are on the ground. 😪

yeah like I said they're not bad at the game. Good players are reliable players. SWF lets you pick good players so you'll always have reliable teammates.

A reliable player is a good player. Because even if you know you are not good at one thing you can choose to do something else that you excel at. However, sometimes you might have to do some things that are uncomfortable (taking aggro, finishing a gen at 99% if someone got pushed off etc), because that is how the game works.

  • @MrPenguin said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2728322#Comment_2728322

then they're not "bad friends" because they're not bad at the game. I'll add that clarification.

They are reliable players, big difference.

  • @MrPenguin said:

so basically most survivors are bad at the game and SWF lets you avoid that by choosing who you play with and if you're good at the game, you can tell your bad friends what to do.

I don't tell my friends what to do. They perform things on their own.

  • Personally I don't feel like they owe us anything, so them actually sharing things is what being transparent is. They don't have to give us details of what developments are taking place.

  • Took you less than a week.

    aa.png

  • No offense to Otz, but this video feels so redundant.

Everything he said could summed up in DBD is heavily RNG-based. First, because the survivor has no idea what killer they are facing, so their loadouts could go one way or another (I.E. Bringing healing perks against Plague/Legion), and on killer side you could opt to not bring any slow down perks and survivors all bring BNPS with prove thyself etc.

I don't understand why people are still under the belief that just because you wanna vibe in a match, your opponent has to also. Certainly I understand that sometimes some things are unfun and others are just unbalanced, but the fact of the matter is that players can play how they feel they want to regardless of the odds being with or against them.

  • Boons in general have added another layer to the gameplay which is great.

Circle of Healing could use some tweaks. So I do not think "boons" have made the killer experience bad.

latuzi's description is describing leap and bounds the advantage of solo vs swf. Denying it is a bit strange.

Survivors can have pre-planned routes in a chase, but for killer, its not just about chase itself, its about getting into the chase in favorable position. Sometimes getting into a chase can take upwards to 30 seconds or so before the chase even begins and it comes from that informational gap. 0 TR killers are easy to counter, you can just follow them as SWF and give basic directions for where killer is coming from, denying them of their first hit.

And what I am saying is that this "advantage" isn't that big of a deal when you think about the fact that in reality even when you are in a SWF team, there is virtually no possible way of seeing the killer's every move. Meaning that at best someone can give you a "ballpark" of where the killer might be headed. Your FOV isn't magically larger simply because you have comms. You can just as easy open your eyes in solo queue too.

In most cases you'll be able to detect the killer from a mile away. So it isn't like this is a constant issue in solo queue.

Solo queue has bigger issues anyway. An icon moving telling me someone is in a chase isn't going to change the incompetency that is found in solo trials.

LoS is highly map variable and has a distance cap.

If I'm on Yamaoka Estate by the house, and I see a survivor on shack gen with BBQ after hooking a survivor - the survivor on the hook telling their buddy that I'm heading in their direction is not information that the survivor in shack has any way of perceiving for the next ten seconds. In a solo queue situation, they would have to wait until they hear the TR, and then for it to get louder (implying I'm moving towards them and not passing by) before they could react. I will still see the scratch marks of the solo survivor if they attempt to run from the area, but the warned SWF survivor will be long gone if they left when their teammate told them. And if I'm a stealth killer... yeah, no, that's not happening.

It's like Spine Chill, in a way. Most of what Spine Chill does is covered by rotating the camera, but it also works through walls and against killers who are very well camouflaged with their environment; it will cover you in situations where eyesight alone fails.

Again, and I never denied that. But the notion that solo queue survivors are boundaries away from knowing the killer is coming to them is ridiculous.

As I said before if the survivor is good they would have already pre-made plans for what their next move is going to be. SWF or not.

Not every generator is out in the open and low / no TR Killers get screwed by comms if they use terrain to approach unseen.

So you think SWF teammates know exactly where the killer is when they have no TR?

    Because that would be incorrect.

Also, I know not every generator is out in the open but if they have TR then you know they are going to you. There is virtually no way for a person to know exactly where the killer is going 100% of the time. Even in a SWF group.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2727131#Comment_2727131

To be honest, my biggest issue with SWFs is how difficult is sometimes is to start a close ranged chase, when people are using voice comms to make it easier to pre-leave generators and hide before the killer gets there. And sometimes when I throw someone on a hook, it sometimes feels pointless to leave the hook to start patrolling generators, if I think the person on the hook might be using voice comms to warn people if I’m patrolling in their direction.

I mean, it’s not like you can’t see the killer coming from a mile away. You only need to pay attention and even if you are not certain because of LoS or so, you can still play it safe and have a plan on where you intend on running if the killer comes to you.

Survivors who have good map awareness know this.

  • Why would they need to buff killers accordingly? I am not understanding that part.

Also, how do icons address the actual issue at hand which is that solo players more than often are commonly known to be less than efficient? Where not even perks like kindred sought to be of any use because all you saw was 3 other teammates lingering around doing nothing.

In other words, solo queue suffers mostly from players who do not want to partake in being a team player, and I don’t see how icons will buff that when it is a prevalent issue in solo queue.

  • @The_C12H15NO2 said:

Also no need for kindred anymore unless you want to see if the killer is camping.

And your teammates squatting contemplating their life choices.

  • I have a strange feeling that we will see a Child’s Play chapter for something like an anniversary chapter.

  • Yep adding action icons is really going to help those teammates that hide all the time, let you die on hook and are too afraid to take aggro.

There is a reason solo queue is bad and it is not because they lack comms. They lack competency.

  • Bring baby Dweelf back 🥺

Tbf the game is survivor sided at high level tho ask any comp team watch any tournament

There's a reason you only see 3-4 killers in tournament

And it's not cause the other killers are bad either

They just aren't strong enough to compete

That's not what OP is saying though.

He doesn't like certain perks and proceeds to say the game is survivor sided. This is the problem with many of the complaints.

  • “I don’t like perks so your game is survivor sided”

  • DH does require you to be in the proper position to use it.

Why would you ever use it in the middle of nothing or against a wall?

I get you don't like the perk, but you are incorrect with that portion.

  • You can’t buff solo queue because you can’t change how some people play.

Basically SWF has more reliable players because often times they will be the ones taking hits, aggro, going for saves, doing gens… none of which is something that can be buffed.

You are playing the lottery when you are playing solo, because you don’t know who or what kind of skill gap they have. That is the gamble you take.

I have lost count how many times I have brought Kindred only to watch people do nothing and let me go to phase 2. This isn’t something I worry about with my friends because even if we aren’t on comms one of them will not let me down.

I think some people are so hung up on “SWF is better than solo” but for the wrong reasons.

  • Bad matchmaking does not equal “SWF is op”. If you are getting people with a higher grade than you, it does not mean that the fact that they are playing together is relevant to the game matching you with someone who is more experienced.

Also, Everything from flashlight saves to bodyblocks can be done in solo queue as well. This also includes the random BM (flashlight clicking/teabagging) This isn’t an exclusive feature to SWF.

Play for 10,000 hours pretty much. They've probably never spent any, which is just weird.

6.3k to be exact. I have spent some but mostly for blood points in the shrine.

I buy my cosmetics with my own money. Mostly a personal choice.

I own every rift and I do buy most cosmetics if not all, for my mains. Like Dweet for example:

  • Personally I believe the problem is that there are many people on here who do not know how to post feedback so they resort to the simple most destructive form of feedback.

There are many players on here who you’ll rarely see post who share their thoughts and opinions with an open mind. That quickly get overshadowed by the more “complain without substance” posts. Because it is often the ones who do the most crying that do not provide the adequate feedback.

  • @gammatsunami said:

What exactly do you plan on doing with your shards?

  • If we go by the way the new MMR works, doesn't their MMR go up if they escape?

A lot of the bad players get to escape because they were carried during the match. Not accounting for their actions and overall chase skill level.

  • Getting them in before Camping gets looked at.

  • @Phasmamain said:

If anything survivors should have to build them for an extra chase tool. Maybe giving toolboxes another use?

Personally I feel like those doors should already be "broken" when we spawn in, and should the survivor want to seal a door (once), then I could see how it makes sense for the killer to have to break that.

Even then it would make more sense because it would be more in line with the survivability concept that a survivor has to do something in order to gain an advantage. (Since it is not a perk)

It could be something where survivors have to gather pallet scraps to build it, and additionally the designers could create a new special item for survivors to allow them to build it faster if they wanted to. This would also add more variety to what items survivors could bring into a match.

  • I think part of the issue is that hackers can also make it so that you have no choice but to DC.

So in essence even if you agree that a dc should be punishable, when the hacker can make it so the game never ends, you have to dc anyway. That is where I feel the problem is. I have literally seen people close the hatch and the game never ended. That is just ridiculous.

  • I get you should feel bad for that player, but why should you feel sorry when there is no way you can control how a player is going to play each round?

  • and to think some people actually stream the game looking busted 😂

Just because your red grade killer doesn't mean anything pal. You could still play more survivor. But that's beside the point. The point is you seem to think the game is a perfectly balanced game with no issues.you are one of millions of killer mains who disagree with me.

No but according to you I don't play killer, correct?

Grade does mean something. It means that player has been playing killer to get the grade through pipping.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about, so maybe next time refrain from assuming people's 'roles'. It's just not a good look, trust me.

Well done for beating Ash grade survivors due to yet again another broken part of the game they care nothing about MMR

No according to you, you know exactly which team I play for.

So please enlighten me how you come up with those conclusions? Unless you think everyone who disagrees with you must be a survivor main.

    Do you though?

Because your skill at assuming things onto others is just impressive.

I know loads of people who use to play killer and now they prefer survivor guess what for an easy game. I myself use to be a killer main and mot so much now because its tradh, and boring and you may as well sit in a corner and do nothing

And those of us who have stuck through when the game used to be in a worse shape haven't left killer.

I have never wanted to want to go sit in the corner? Must be a pretty awful feeling to have to do that tbh.

Survivors get freebies anyway. It comes with the role. Killer right now would be fine if survivors got nerfed.

According to bad killers yes, I agree.

Which is why it will never happen.

    How about maybe:

    - nerf pallets

    - nerf loops

    - nerf gen speeds

    - make maps less survivor sided (Haddonfield, rpd, badham preschool etc)

    - make killer the power role instead of survivors

    - give stamina bars to survivors.

    - reduce gate opening speed

    - make survivors actually work for their win instead of giving it to them on a golden plate by making killers their #########

    - nerf flashlights

    - buff Killers to optimal if not viable skill levels - I coukd list changes.

    - nerf survivors perks

    - put a timer on matches (this specifically for the moronic survivors who think oh all gens are repaired lest hide instead of opening gates or stand teabagging for 5 minutes.

There are hundreds of things they can do to sort their trashy game out. They are killing the game

Ah, yeah so no balance right? Just outright nerfs to survivors. Funny how they have nerfed pallets already and you are still not satisfied.

Nah, I'd rather deal with a challenging match. I don't need the game to hand me a freebie. thanks

    PS. Flashlights need nerfs? Yikes.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2720571#Comment_2720571

You are literally the only person on this page saying that crap. Killers can be bad but the flipping game being survivor sided doesn't help them get better cos with every patch comes another major positive for survivor and a great big F u for killer.

Any decent killer will have you know losing 3 gens in 1 chase, they would either have to be extremely unaware of the map and survivor's spawn locations. I.E. They are not experienced.

The point is the game isn't going to tell that player WHEN and HOW. What do you want? a pop-up window saying "ABORT CHASE! IMMEDIATELY!"... is that it?

Claiming "The game is survivor sided" isn't relevant when we are talking about a specific scenario. Yes there are various things they could adjust in general, but currently it is not common to lose 3 gens in one chase.

  • @douggie123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2720459#Comment_2720459

Why with survivors do they resort to oh your just bad lmao get good. If it was a post about a killer nerf you'd be all over it like a bloody rash

Yep I'm a survivor main right?

The only bloody rash that ceases to deplete is the one where you think that killers aren't capable of being bad. So much that they lose 3 gens in 1 chase.

This coming from the person whose first comment is "Just nerf survivors".

  • @DyingWish92 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2720394#Comment_2720394

3 gens can pop in the First minute of the game. That doesn't mean the killer sucks and isn't breaking chase it means, 20 seconds to find a survivor at the start, 30 seconds to down them, 10 seconds to pick up and hook, leave hook. Assuming the other 3 are on separate gens which swfs do a lot that's 3 gens done. Killer does nothing wrong and gets destroyed.

    "Doesn't mean killer sucks"

It's hilarious how you are very easily convinced that all of those things are something a good killer will do, when they are the very characteristics of a bad killer. It doesn't take 20 seconds to find 1 survivor if you're aware of the map and spawn locations.

As mentioned before there are perks like Lethal Pursuer, Corrupt Intervention, Etc to aid whatever it is you are having problems with.

The problem is in exactly what you said, the mentality surrounding "KILLER DOES NOTHING WRONG" which is wrong in and of itself, because even the best killer will make a mistake here and there. At least they admit to it. It's always the bad ones that dont.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Man, when a survivor says they don't like killers face-camping they get ripped apart in the comments for trying to 'ruin killers fun' then killers turn around and demand friends not be allowed to play together in this game because it ruins their fun? That's what I mean by saying both sides of this community are ridiculous.

I also like the part where your using face camping as a threat for the devs inaction like 'If you don't cater to my demand to remove team play, I'm going to adopt a different playstyle (that the devs condone and defend anyways) to win.'

It's because killers don't want to admit that THEY themselves can also suck at the game. So instead they want to blame gen speeds, resources, because their skill is apparently "top notch perfection".

I really hate this point of view, as it is really not valid. Starting off it doesn't have to be a swf for this to happen, many solo survivors understand that splitting up one surv per gen if more effective that multiple on one gen. So if you have 4 survivors on 4 gens you chase off one a good survivor will have good pathing and at the beginning of the game its almost impossible to get them to dead zone. So i would say if a killer is really good you find a survivor in 15 sec. You break a few god pallets and get your first hit at 45 seconds. It takes around 20 seconds to make up the distance from the first hit. Then you loop again running you another 25 to 30 seconds of course based on the skill of the survivor I'm assuming he is going against a higher tier group be it solo or swf. That's a good chase and you you are looking at how much time? You are looking at anywhere from 80 seconds on a clean first hook to 110 seconds if they give you problems. How long does a generator take.....80 seconds solo. Its a numbers game and the deck is stacked against the killer. I play both sides pretty equally, as of late i play more survivor as i find it more fun as i feel i have more to learn on survivor. I can acknowledge that killers have it pretty tough when you look at the time management crunch they are under.

So you don't think breaking chase is necessary? You just chase 1 survivor until they pre-drop every single pallet meanwhile 3 gens pop?

There is a perk called Corrupt Intervention which clearly blocks gens to help you out, not to mention there are other perks that help as well.

It really isn't just a numbers game when skill is involved too. If the killer isn't downing someone within an acceptable time, do you think survivors should what? Let go of the gen and finish them only when the killer has had one hook? Lol

Why should we have a rough tkme at all catching a survivor when survivors have it easy unless they get facecamped or tunneled (this could be prevented if gen speed wasn't ridiculous)

Have it easy? Please explain that when there are a very limited number of pallets on maps with sections that are basically dead zones.

If you have a hard time catching survivors it isn't just because they might have got very good RNG with their resources. It could be your own ability of lack there of that is making you have a rough time too. Of course unless you think that somehow doesn't count.
