No, it's still highly rewarding. It will benefit the killer more IF that killer has a stealth ability AND when they use said ability. Otherwise it works as it used too. There are far fewer killers that use stealth than those that don't.
@Kabu Well yeah if we are going to generalize yeah the perk is still useful.
Again, I’m not complaining about any of the stealth killers gaining undetectable. My complaint is simply that nothing changes on the killer’s end because they can still see an aura.
This seems weird considering it is a survivor perk not a killer perk. How is it fair that a perk that is very risky favors the opposing side? That doesn’t make any sense to me.

It's absolutely absurd anyone would try to justify this. One person doing gens while everyone else does nothing but tries to get the killer's attention. And if you are solo? The challenge is quite literally impossible.
@ProfessorDunwich I mean, I’ve been able to complete 3 gens before without a problem. This was when I wasn’t trying to be coordinated with my teammates. So for me while it is challenging it’s not impossible.
Especially when you got killers camping nowadays. The challenge is really dependent on who the killer is and how much they proxy gens.

I think you missed the part where it says "completely." If you are going stand up for this absurdity, at least read through it.
@ProfessorDunwich Oh I’m sorry that I am human capable of making mistakes.
Then don’t 99% and just have your team work with you and do them one by one.

If you think fully repairing 4 gens in a single game isn't that bad then idk what to tell ya lol.
Step 1 Team up in a SWF match.
Step 2 Tell them what you plan on doing.
Step 3 repair 4 gens and leave them at 99%.
Step 4 tap each one and you got your 4.

Guess it's a huge risk/huge reward now.
Huge risk with little to no reward.
The killer can see more than the survivor. They should have made it a killer perk.
-
Eh. They aren’t that bad IMO.
-
So what you’re saying is that because you’re not winning it’s not fun?
If you wanna talk about the core of the problem, go for it. I can tell you it’s not Mirror Myers in an open Map. There is a reason people specifically bring a map offering equipped when they play like this.
As someone who mains Myers, it really baffles me that you would even complain about killers being so slow but yet pick the slowest Michael build as evidence to your complaint.
Would be the same thing as survivors complaining that killers bring perks that slow down the game but have perks like Quick and Quiet and Urban Evasion because they want to remain immersed instead of attempting a gen or bringing tools that will help them.
If you want to be spoon fed kills this is not how the game works.

Yeah the EGC 3 Safe Hooks in a single match is not gonna happen unless its a Farm Match or the Killer & Survivors are THAT potato and somehow don't die on hook or DC.
The rest can be done..... Tho some ARE bad/more difficult to line up
Wel, there went my excitement overall... They def need to rework these or get rid of the "Complete this in a single Trial" BS.... Should really lower the amount that have that stipulation...
@Nikkiwhat I’ve done it when the killer brought No Ed and started to snowball.

You don’t necessarily need to pair it to get profit out of it. Whenever a survivor gets hit or is being chased, you know exactly where these stealth killers will be. You’ll just have to be more careful running the perk against stealth killers which is perfectly fine imo, especially because at the start of each match you will know in advance whether or not you will be facing one of these killers.
@Nameless I understand the part about still having some benefits.
The part I don’t agree with is the killer being able to see my aura when I can’t see theirs. I feel that the perk should just deactivate when they are in stealth mode.

To summarise: OoO whole schtick is that it’s meant to be a gamble whether it greatly works for you, or greatly works against you. Now it’s much more in line with its design intent.
Don’t like to gamble?
Use SC, Premonition, Alert, or Dark Sense instead.
@DudeDelicious Nice summary, however, all I see is a change that in order to not “cripple” a killer means you have a useless perk that against killers with undetectable becomes expendable.
Do I think it crippled Stealth killers? Short answer is no.
Having exact location of a survivor is a killer’s wet dream. Hence why BBQ is so meta.
Do I think that they could have adjusted it to make it fair for stealth killers, sure, but not at the expense of giving away MY location and have no idea whether the killer can see me or not (if I happen to be looking in their direction).
How exactly can you call something a perk that isn’t benefiting the player carrying it?
I don’t even use OoO but even I can see how this change was so biased, considering people only started to have a problem with it after GF came out. No one said a word before.
Besides if they really weren’t being so biased with the change they would have made it so it works the same on all killers. Huntresses for example aren’t exactly benefiting from this.

No.
You can already do that by pairing it with Sole Survivor.
It is as the perk states, when the survivor looks in the killers direction when within the range requirements of the perk BOTH the survivors aura is revealed AND the killers aura. Exceptions are where the survivor can block aura reading or the killer can block aura reading. So if the killer has Undetectable, or manages to affect the OoO user with blindness, or doesn’t want to run Sole Survivor, well too bad. That’s the risk.
@DudeDelicious You don’t get it.
Why on earth would someone need to run an additional perk just to get the benefit that another is suppose to offer? That seems pointless.
OoO should bypass undetectable or just disable itself. This isn’t meant to turn into a killer perk just because they decided they wanted to crouch.

Stop being so biased here. The risk is "I can see you but you can see me". And yes, it's a real strong perk (unfair with SWF teams) that should be reworked somehow, wich can mess with a lot of killers if played wisely and some can bully a killer with it (a lot of player do that). But you must know a simple and important fact. NOT EVERY PLAYER/SURVIVOR IS A BULLY.
@Saitamfed Thank you for posting this.
Glad to see some people get it
-
There is no longer a “trade off” which is the very essence of the perk so they need to disable the ability for a killer to see a survivor if the survivor can’t see them. Period.
-
Wait, I always thought these were just a placeholder for something better.
Guess I was wrong. They honestly feel very out of place because it’s clashing with the art style of the UI.
They should have gone with a lore-fitting effect involving the entity or something instead of silhouettes.
-
I feel like BK needs to cut that time in half.
This item isn't even Ultra Rare worthy anymore. Why is it even still in the bloodweb? Just remove it all together if it's that big of a deal.
-
Oh don’t celebrate yet.
I’m sure players will find another way to complain about them once survivors have learned to adapt.
-
Lol “2 gens get done in the time it takes to set 2 traps”.
What kind of traps are you setting.

Oh, you did not know?
Survivors can DC against every Killer if they just feel like it, according to the DCer scrublords on these forums.
Oh yeah, and Killers can never DC. Not even against a 4-man SWF running 4 second chance perks each plus 2 purple toolboxes and 2 medkits with insta-heals. Gotta let the Survivors bully you for maximum BP, then go sit in a corner until they decide to end the match.
And if you down any of them? They get to DC and call you a tryhard.
@Centrum Thanks for speaking for the entire survivor community. Now I’ll keep that in mind whenever killers I go against DC after their ruin gets cleansed or miss 2-3 times and give up.
The DC issue is on both sides. People generally DC when they find something annoying. In this case GF.
-
Honestly I don’t entirely agree with some of the things suggested.
I have about 3k (2.8k to be exact) and currently sitting at rank 4. Having a good team MATTERS and it should go without saying that their actions and overall participation will determine the overall result of the match.
While you shouldn’t entirely depend on your teammates, there is a good feeling I find when I know that I did the best I could. I have literally sacrificed myself at times only for that person to go cleanse a totem get downed and die instead of getting out... but I find satisfaction in knowing that I played the best that I could and also tried to protect my team. I find the risk and heroism fun and try to improve myself with each match.
My advice would be that you need to find what you find fun about this game and stick to it. Everyone likes to win because it feels good... but understand that sometimes your losses can also be wins if you know you did your part.
Another thing I would say is make every match a learning experience, even if you win there are things that you will start to notice you could have done differently. I personally love this about DBD because the analytical part of me appreciates it.
So yeah, have fun is #1, but there is also a fun side in being competitive. IMO anyway.
Good luck. 😄

Now if only they can do the same with...
The pressure on killers during a match compared to the pressure on survivors
dc's
server latency and related gameplay issues
gate distances during EGC
fair consumer friendly monetization
camping, tunneling, looping, farming concerns by players
overall killer power level vs survivors
Totem mechanics
core mechanics changes that shouldn't be fixed with perks
subpar perks
specific killer issues (OP v UP)
Mori's and Keys
archive challenge completion issues
I could go on, but I'm at work.
Props are fine, but keep in mind the work remaining and ignored as well.
There are a million threads about those issues, some of which they have acknowledged and addressed whether verbally or through updates.
No need to rain on someone's parade just because the devs aren't going at the speed that you'd like. Sometimes taking the time to say "Thank you" is also OK. It's called being grateful even if it isn't perfect.

@Kenshiro84 Lmao that is so funny.
Pig is so funny to me, I’ve had so many instances where I have ran into her but we were both crouched and we missed each other. xD

Cuz it's warm and cozy under the hook.
Jk ... Hmm my guess is a lot of times they have unbreakable so they will unhook with BT.

Let him in already!

Here we go... again.

It’s ok to feel upset/disappointed.
Honestly I’m so tired of every person in here that acts are if we aren’t humans capable of feeling.
BHVR has had delays and I’m sure this won’t be the last one, but I can honestly say they are one of the best dev teams I have seen (Having experienced other dev teams and their communication).
Hopefully the event is worth the wait and We get more communication as it gets closer.

All the rank 1 killers facing SWF say hi. 👋

Best for me are Dwight and Meg.
Worst would be Nea.

It makes sense if they are doing it for Halloween.

Its not dying.

I play a mix of SWF both with and without voice chat. I gotta' say that it doesn't make a whole lot of difference. If anything, I probably do worse in voice chat because we're more likely to mess around and go for silly shenanigans like Head On.
I think voice chat is often mistaken for 'a group of good players who happen to be in a SWF'. You stick a couple good players together and you're going to have a rough time (unless you're an equally good killer). Likewise, you stick a couple casual survivors together and give them voice chat, they're not going to suddenly be amazing. They're still going to drop like flies, they're still going to search for Ruin for several minutes.
I've played against loads of groups who were clearly playing together (matching names and all) only to win no problem. I've also played against groups of complete strangers who all played well and streamrolled over me. That's not to say that voice chat doesn't give you an edge, but the bulk of it just comes from knowing that the people you're playing with can be relied on, that other people are doing something productive while you get chased.
In response to the OP, though, you cannot possibly prevent people from talking to each other. Even if you were to detect every single voice chat program out there and call it a cheat- and Steam itself has voice chat, as do the other platforms- you could just use your phones to communicate. It is unenforceable.
@Peanits I have to agree with you, half the time my friends and I get into a silly argument because we will be telling each other "x thing is at the corner of the map".... and its like "which corner??" So we just stop because it creates a hinderance rather than an advantage.
At the end of the day the player's skill along with conscious decisions is what is going to get you to escape.

i mean this could work, but randomly getting the match ending would be obstruct in my opinion and having it cause EGC would at least add some sort of ending to the match instead of just flat out ending it, causing confusion to why it was canceled at first.
Having been in many matches where a person DC'd before we could even get a gen done sets the tone for me.
If a gen hasn't been completed and someone DC's I think the match should cancel.
If At least 2 gens were completed I think the match should not cancel.
Same as I feel if a person DC's the hatch should not open for the last person. This is not considered a "kill".
-
I mean if all you want is to move on to the next match why cause the EGC?
Why not just treat it as a normal pre-spawned match where if a player DC's match gets cancelled. I wouldn't mind if the match was cancelled (even if it was in the middle of a match) after a DC provided the team got their points accordingly and that they have done less than 50% of their objective.
-
@VSLl How does a killer even have fun in that?
-
Am I the only one who thinks Legacies look kind of just meh?
I would rather have a new skin variation if an exclusive like this happened again.

I have a feeling many people have a love/hate relationship with this game.
That’s why goodbye threads crack me up, they claim to leave but you see them back within a week. 😂

MoM was straight up broken on release and now it's trash. I still believe this perk was a major mistake to put into the game. Insta heals .. you can't adapt on that. Gen rush is certainly something the devs need to look into. We need 2nd objective in order to get out.
@bendermac Omegablink Nurse was also broken, Prayer Beads need to be adjusted to at least become an ultra rare add on.
Gen Rushing isn’t a “thing” if you’re a good killer, why aren’t the killers 4king in red ranks saying anything at all? Adapt.
My point is, you speak as though it’s only survivors that “ask” for things. This mentality isn’t very helpful and it creates a clear bias that makes people not even want to have a decent discussion. The devs don’t simply change something because someone cried “nerf!”, I’d like to think that their decisions are based on more than that.
-
@bendermac Obviously you weren’t here around when Mettle Of Men came out... and have you been missing the constant threads concerning “gen rushing” and “Insta Heals”.
But yeah let’s preach it.
“Get better and adapt!” Right?
-
I may be in the minority here but I really don’t see the big deal in including an optional voice chat system at least in the lobby.
Many times it is very useful to communicate what you’re bringing etc. and the text chat alone doesn’t give you enough time to type at times.
As for chatting with strangers... Not every stranger is rude or obnoxious... some of them are actually helpful.
-
And why not?
This is a good combo because of the broken status Deliverance gives. If you wanted to tunnel off the hook, you can just down them in one hit and slug if you are desperate.
-
How many games have you played back to back where killers have slugged?
If your team is smart (good luck in solo surviving) they WILL do the right thing and work on gens while you recover.
You can easily counter slugging even without Unbreakable by simply ignoring and not falling into what the killer wants you to do. Punish the slug by forcing them to hook people.

That's not going to really fix anything if you can hear her or not.
You need to know how to abuse her lack of sight during phasing and other such things when facing her.
But this isn't a guide to fight against her, this is just me pointing out how facing both those Killers is... not really fun? It depends on who you're, if you play casually or not, or if you main Survivor.
@FireHazard Lol I wasn’t talking about survivors playing against her.
I was talking about how she is very easy to use when all you need is good ears.
You can hear a wounded survivor so much that you don’t need to see them visually to track them. This killer is already good without Add ons like Prayer Beads.
-
No.

@FireHazard said:

Most don't, they just run with no offering or add-on because it's pretty easy to down an entire team with literally just base-kit a lone... That's kind of another reason why they're nerfing base-kit but that's a different discussion.
The point is, depending on if they're the apex Nurse or Spirit main will definitely impact how you enjoy the game. A lot of Nurse's or Spirits are kind of acting toxic as of late for some reason, not all of them of course but a fair bit of them are...
Probably because Nurse is soon going to not be considered a "crutch" to Survivors facing those Nurse mains, and Killers that don't want to associate with that Killer.
@FireHazard All you need is a good ears.
-
I think you are reaching when you say 99% of the time will DC.
Yes people DC against Spirit, but they also DC against Insta Hillbillies and Clowns (with exhaust add ons) and Iri Head Huntress, Hardcore Slow Freddy etc.
I’m not saying it is right, but players will DC against anything they find annoying to play against.
Not every piece of feedback against Spirit is considered “a pile of salt”. Her Prayer Beads add on should at the very least be turned into an Ultra-Rare. This alone doesn’t even solve the problem because you still get a ton of Ultra Rares in the bloodweb as it is.
At the end of the day people are allowed an opinion, and it doesn’t have to be the one you agree with. The real entitlement exists in those who think they can have an opinion but others that disagree with them can’t.
-
I don’t really care because from playing survivor sometimes you want to wait for another person and make sure they made it out ok, or as others have said heal points.
-
A point based resilience would be nice...
So there is a base % speed on everything, and then certain actions during "dire situations" would grant a bonus. Something like picking someone off the ground for example, would grant speed % bonus on "healing"... or finishing a generator from x proximity from the killer grants bonus speed skill checks... they could even be temporary or something.
